What's up guys I'm Chigz and you are watching Chigz Tech Reviews and today

I've got my hands on an awesome looking Dash cam so this is the Autovox D2 Pro Dashcam

So this dash cam can take 1080p videos at 30 frames per second it has

built-in night vision 135 degree wide angle lens built-in g-sensor

and support sleep recording so this is everything you get in the box

you got a user manual a warranty card that's pretty neat you've got some

fittings and fixtures here adhesive strips and stuff a suction cap to attach

it to your windscreen a very nice and long power cable and just so you guys

know it's powered by USB ok and the camera itself here it is so this is the

latest camera by Autovox it's the D2 Pro it's a full HD 1080p dash cam which and

you can take 1080p videos at 30 frames per second so let's go through the ports

on the top you have a USB port for charging the GPS and AV port you've got

power button and you and you got like a shutter button here HDMI port on the

side with a reset button and nothing at the bottom and this is where you would

insert your micro SD card on the back you have a 2.7 inch LCD

screen which is it looks like quite a nice big screen you've got some

navigational buttons here and enter menu button as well so if we just peal it

this self okay you do have built-in rechargeable batteries which is really

good I want to try and turn it on and hopefully it will turn on yeah but that

turned on very fast so they're set to record video at the moment it doesn't

have any internal memory and you can see the battery is on one bar okay so I'm

going to insert my micro SD card now so here is my micro SD card I always use a

SanDisk 32gb class 10 but these dash cams and action cams you

should always use a class 10 memory card and that's the only way you're going to

be able to get a nice good quality video I just inserted my memory card okay so

on the screen quality is actually very nice I like the wide screen so how this

camera works is you put your memory card in when you start driving all you do is

you press this top button you'll see the red you'll see the recording symbol so

this will record everything you do while you're driving it will record the road

ahead of you and it will store the videos on the memory card

now when the memory card gets full it would automatically just delete the old

videos and it will just overwrite them by itself which is great and so you

don't have to worry about memory management if you get in a collision and

you need the evidence all you do on that day is take the memory card out copy the

files onto your computer and put it back in and you're ready to record again so I

just want to attach the suction cup on this to show you how easy it is to set

up so all you do is that's it slightly on so you've got this now you can see

that's the right way around all you do is stick this on your windscreen and

lock it in place and then if you want to take it off you just turn it so it's a

very nice quality suction cap there it's adjustable so you can get the right

angle that you need and it also swivels left and right so once you're on there

you can move your camera around and get the perfect angle that you want I'm

going to go and test this out in my car and we're going to find out what the

quality's like and if this dashcam is any good

outstanding what I really like about this camera is all you do is plug in the

power as soon as you attach this to your windscreen and plug the power in it

automatically starts recording and you get a blue light flashing here telling

you it's recording so that's so you don't even need to look at the screen if

you want to see the screen you just press a button the screen will appear

and then you have the option to either turn recording off or let it continue so

it's very well made I like how light it is it's extremely

light but very compact this you can see that this will easily fit in your pocket

you can take this away even the suction cap is tiny so a very good design by

Auto Vox this is their latest model it's the d2 pro what I'll do is I'll put the

2017 Suzuki Swift revealed

It will end a seven-year run for the current Swift, Suzukis top-selling model in Australia, which has seen more than 77,000 sales since its launch in 2010.

The new-generation Swift shows a departure from the rounded shape of the current model with more angular body panels, a larger grille, sleeker LED headlights and invisible rear door handles within the C-pillar to present a coupe style.

At the rear, there is a moulded rear hatch lid and new-look tail lights. The cabin design features a lower hip point to increase interior headroom while the dashboard shows some cloning with its Vitara and Baleno siblings.

It has a prominent centre touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a sports steering wheel with paddle shifters and red and white themed instrumentation.

Suzuki has increased the safety technology with seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, automatic headlights, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree surround-view cameras, lane departure warning and a reverse camera.

The new model is based on the Heartect platform also used for the larger Baleno and the forthcoming Ignis SUV that is due in Australia in the first quarter of 2017.

For 2017, the Swift is 10mm shorter than the current car but has a 20mm longer wheelbase at 2450mm. It is also lower, wider and lighter than the outgoing model.

The weight is expected to drop to about 900kg, down from the current model at 1005kg, primarily because of the new design of the Heartect platform. It is not expected there will be the offering of all-wheel drive.

Australian drivetrain specifications will follow the conservative trend of the existing Swift model, though there will be the option of a 10-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine alongside a 1. 2-litre normally-aspirated petrol engine.

The 10-litre Boosterjet turbocharged engine, which is also one of the engines fitted to the Baleno, is rated in the Swift at 75kW of power at 5500rpm and 150Nm of torque from 1700rpm to 4500rpm.

Though this is less than the Balenos 82kW/160Nm, the new engine is still rated higher than the current Swift 1. 4-litre normally-aspirated engine at 70kW/130Nm.

Suzuki has yet to give details of the transmissions but the 10-litre engine is likely to follow the Baleno and be fitted only with a six-speed automatic, while the 1. 2-litre may continue with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic.

Local cars are unlikely to not get Japans hybrid version and it is not expected there will be the offering of all-wheel drive.

In an interview with GoAutoNews at the launch of the Baleno in July, Suzuki Australia general manager Andrew Moore said the car-maker chose not to bring the hybrid powertrain to market due to lack of interest.

Obviously youve seen hybrid sales in Australia have struggled due to the dollar premium, he said. This hybrid system doesnt have the same dollar premium as other hybrids …. But were still not sure about Australias appetite for hybrid at the moment..

In its pre-launch of the car Suzuki said it features distinctive and sporty styling, and both superb driving performance and low-fuel consumption achieved through an excellent handling inherited and further enhance from its predecessor.

One Week With: 2017 Mazda3 5-Door Grand Touring

Nothing about the 2017 Mazda3 5-Door hatchback jumps out at you.

It's a nice-looking piece — aggressive nose, contoured sides — but it's not a "wow!" The 184 horses from its 2.5-liter naturally aspirated, twin-cam four sound plenty potent, but straight-line performance is only fair; 0 to 60 runs are in the mid-7-second range.

The cockpit is clean and well-finished in quality materials, but again, it's doubtful any passenger will be bowled over when climbing aboard.

But do you know what? From the driver's seat, you won't care about any of the above. That's because the third-generation Mazda3 does everything so well, it simply radiates motoring joy.

It's a delightful machine — happy at its job, well-oiled in its responses, the very definition of value and refinement.

Never once during my week with the car did my insides flood with a performance-induced adrenaline rush, but I thoroughly enjoyed my daily drives anyway, savoring engineering that places astuteness over showiness.

You can't help but smile at this car's ability to sand the rough edges off an otherwise arduous commute. One standard characteristic is the 3's steering. It's light, smooth, and super precise.

As a result, even a gentle pace through a winding road is rewarding. The 3 goes exactly where you point it without any wasted motion and with plenty of feedback telegraphing through the wheel to your fingertips.

It's a testament to Mazda's commitment to driving excellence that a car without overt sporting pretensions should steer so well.

Aiding handling response is the standard G-Vectoring Control system, which gradually reduces engine torque as you turn into a corner — allowing the front tires to focus on grip and thereby improving bite.

This behavior — the 3's almost spiritual connection between steering wheel and road — is just one of the pieces that add up to make such a compelling whole.

The chassis is equally likable, reasonably grippy but more notable for its poise and comfortable ride. Like the steering, it's totally satisfying.

The six-speed manual gearbox is also a standout, with a feathery, quick action that slots right into your desired cog every time.

I'd noted from the window sticker that my test car was equipped with optional radar-guided adaptive cruise control (part of the $1,100 Safety package) and was curious how the system would deal with the manual transmission when traffic ahead forced the car to slow down.

Wouldn't the engine simply stall? Well, no. Turns out a dashboard light and a chime warn the driver to step in and downshift if such a situation arises.

It's nice to find such a system available with a manual as the pairing is a rarity. Inside, the cockpit isn't lavish, but it is extremely pleasant. Good seats, excellent fit and finish, a clean layout.

The center console sports a small rotary controller for scrolling through menus on the central color touchscreen display. Surrounding it are buttons for directly accessing the various systems — nav, audio, etc. It's very intuitive with no fussiness.

The climate-control interface is likewise straightforward, with dual-zone control and heated seats included in Grand Touring trim. The wheel is superb, a chunky three-spoked, leather-wrapped design with helpful buttons for operating the Bluetooth phone system and more.

Mazda's love of driving is right there in front of you. The driver's panel dominated by a big central tachometer for all your engine-revving, gear-changing pleasure.

My only gripes: Rear-seat legroom is tight, and visibility to the rear quarters is impeded by the 3's beefy C-pillars.

Starting at just $24,730 in top-of-the-range Grand Touring trim, the 3 hatchback punches well above its sticker price.

Included are a Bose nine-speaker surround-sound audio system, leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry with pushbutton start, a glass moonroof, rear-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, and more.

My test car added the Premium Equipment package ($1,600, including nav, LED headlights, heated steering wheel, and more), the Safety package (with the aforementioned adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, lane-keep assist, and more), and a few other small options, bringing the final tally to $28,030.

It probably wouldn't win a test-numbers comparo with any rival in its class, but the Mazda3 doesn't care. The focus here is on a premium driving experience, and the 3 feels "premium" through and through.

From the response of its switchgear to the fluidity of its chassis, the 3 is built to delight. Such finesse is not to be overlooked.

It can mean the difference between arriving after a long drive feeling refreshed instead of beat up. It can take the edge off of fighting traffic.

It can make you take notice, as you're winding through a sinuous mountain road or skimming over the freeway, of just how unfailingly polished and likable this little machine is.

Engineering alone can't produce such mechanical harmony. The Mazda3 is the masterfully executed automobile it is thanks to an abiding understanding of art.

Mercedes-Benz reveals X-Class ute concepts

Very rarely would you hear a Mercedes-Benz representative describe the prospects of a concept with the words, Bring it on.

Those words, uttered by David McCarthy, senior manager of public relations for Mercedes-Benz Australia, underlines the companys commitment to putting the X-Class one-ton pick-up truck into production.

Though long rumoured to be called the GLT, Mercedes-Benz says the new ute model will carry on with the X-Class moniker. It isnt just a whimsical concept that was built to test the waters.

Mercedes-Benz says that they have done comprehensive research into its target audience, and will be injecting 'high nine-figure (euro) investment by the time production commences in late 2017.

Australia has been cited as one of the key markets for the X-Class, with its unique buyer demographic comprised of families with an active lifestyle, outdoor adventurers, and small business owners.

The other key markets in Mercedes-Benz study being Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, and Europe.

Although the concept is the work of Mercedes-Benz Vans, and will become the fourth model series in its division, Mercedes-Benz is not just training its sights on delivering a 'workhorse ute, but one that will appeal to those who like their utes to have car-like characteristics, performance, safety, and comfort.

Thanks to Daimler AGs six-year old strategic cooperation with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, development of the X-Class from concept to production has been fast tracked with the ute to be based on the current Nissan Navara/Renault Alaskan.

While the X-Class ute will be built on the Navaras ladder frame chassis, it will feature permanent all-wheel drive from a 4MATIC system.

The all-wheel drive system will utilise an electronic traction control, transfer case with reduction gear, and two differential locks to maximise traction.

Like existing Navara dual cabs, the X-Class will come fitted with a five-link rear axle with coil spring setup, instead of a traditional leaf spring rear suspension, to deliver better ride comfort and refinement.

The final product boasts a possible towing capacity of up to 3.

As for what lies under the hood, McCarthy confirms that the X-Class will feature powertrains from Mercedes-Benz, with a choice of a four-cylinder petrol, and a four-cylinder and a range-topping V6 diesel.

By Mercedes estimates, the final product would be able to haul a payload of more than 1.1 tonne, and boasts a possible towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes.

This bespoke drivetrain differs from the also Navara-derived Renault Alaskan which uses the same four-wheel drive layout and Nissan/Renault co-developed turbodiesel engines. The Alaskan is also yet to be confirmed for Australia.

As a show of intent, the X-Class concept was presented in Stockholm in two design variants of the dual-cab ute concept, titled the 'stylish explorer and 'powerful adventurer, each designed to highlight its appeal to its target audience.

Resplendent in white metallic, with its sleek trim pieces, clean surfaces, massive 22-inch alloy wheels in contrasting anthracite chrome finish, and low-profile tyres, the 'stylish explorer highlights the X-Class shape as an ute suited for the urban life.

To match its sophisticated exterior appearance, the cabin is trimmed in a tantalising brown and white leather combination, typically more suited for a limousine than a ute.

The cabin sports familiar design elements such as the rounded air-conditioning vents, free-standing central display for the multimedia system with a centre controller and multi-function touchpad, and the same sort of switchgear that you would find on Mercedes-Benzs passenger cars.

Production for Australian-bound X-Class is slated to start in late-2017. If the 'stylish explorer is comparable to an S-Class in ute form, the 'powerful adventurer takes on a more rugged makeover that is more akin to the G63 6x6.

Fitted with huge chunky off-road tyres that raises the height to a staggering 1.9m, matte-carbon wheel arches, SUV-style radiator grille with two louvres, and an electric winch, the 'powerful adventurer shows off its more adventurous side.

On the inside the concept features sportier trim with carbon elements, brushed metallic surfaces, and a striking colour combination that reflects the concepts lemonax metallic yellow paint job.

While it is uncertain how much of the concepts luxurious trappings will filter down to the actual production model, Mercedes-Benz assures that the production X-Class will come with several advanced connective features.

Users will be able to pair their mobile devices to the utes communication module to upload navigation destinations, as well as query its parked location or even how much fuel it has in store.

The ute will also have standard connected services for accident recovery, maintenance management, and breakdown management. Furthermore in typical Mercedes-Benz fashion, the X-Class wont be short on safety features, with modern camera- and radar-based driver assistance systems to be fitted.

Production for Australian-bound X-Class is slated to start in late-2017 will models rolling out from Nissans Barcelona plant. Its Australian arrival is set for the first quarter of 2018.

your vehicle running cool in the dog

The radiator is the heart

of your car's cooling system.

You knew that right, I mean who doesn't?

okay fine I didn't.

But turns out it's responsible

for preventing the car from overheating.

So you can check this yourself but you

should know a couple of things.

For starters, never open a hot

radiator cap.

If the coolant looks milky or rusty, make

an appointment at your local Sears Auto

Center.

If the radiator is the heart of your

car's cooling system, the oil is the

lifeblood of your engine.

You knew that

too right?

You're looking for two things.

One does it come up to the full mark and

two how dark is it.

As long as the oil is

a yellowish brown and stays between

those two lines, you're okay.

Here's a handy rule of thumb, dark oil

needs a change and milky oil needs a

mechanic.

Next on the list, check the hoses.

Look for any visible leaks cracks or

peeling.

The coolants not doing any good if it's

not properly circulating through the

hoses and extreme heat can damage a worn

hose.

Planning a road trip this summer?

Don't get stuck on the side of the road

or in the middle of nowhere.

Make sure it

registers cool.

The entry-level variant has copped a $300 price rise, but buyers are compensated with the range-wide addition of LED headlights to equipment lists.

However, GLA180 customers will miss out on the inclusion of a hands-free tailgate that is enjoyed by all other model grades, with the feature activated by a swipe of the foot under the rear bumper.

Power in the range-opener is still provided by a 1. 6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 90kW of power and 200Nm of torque with drive being sent to the front axle.

Every GLA continues to exclusively employ a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Jumping in cost by $800, the $51,200 GLA220d rolls on new 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels finished in Vanadium silver. A 130KW/350Nm 2.1-litre turbo-diesel four propels the oil-burner.

Unaffected by the price changes, the GLA250 4Matic retains its $60,700 pricetag, as well as the 160kW/350Nm 20-litre turbo-petrol four-potter and all-wheel drive set-up. However, the most dramatic price increase affects the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 4Matic, which rises by $5185 to $89,500.

Nevertheless, extra value comes in the form of Dinamica microfibre trim and 20-inch multi-spoke rims finished in Himalayas grey. The formidable 280kW/475Nm 20-litre turbo-petrol powerplant carries over, meaning brisk acceleration is only a stomp of the pedal away.

Minor tweaks to exterior styling apply to the whole line-up, and include a more aggressive grille, as well as redesigned front and rear bumpers. Inside, interior trim has been upgraded with silver chrome flourishes across the cockpit and a refreshed instrument cluster.

Five paint colours are available, and are matched with a discrete matte racing stripe across the middle of the vehicle.

Available for all non-AMG model grades, a White Art Edition package includes man-made Artico leather sports seats with Dinamica inserts and contrast stitching, sports steering wheel with Dinamica grips, Dinamica cabin trim, white air vent surrounds and 19-inch multi-spoke black bi-colour alloys.

This package costs $3780 for the GLA180 and GLA220d, while GLA250 4Matic buyers will be charged $3280.

Thankfully, AMG punters are not left out of the action as the $3990 Yellow Night Edition package promises to add some extra spice to the already hot GLA45 4Matic.

Extra kit in the cabin comprises of an Aerodynamics Package, Performance seats covered in Artico leather with Dinamica inserts and yellow contrast stitching, yellow air vent surrounds, door sills and Dinamica-trimmed yellow-stitched Performance steering wheel.

A 360-degree camera is part of an options package for all variants.

Externally, changes are less than subtle with yellow highlights to the front apron, side sill panel inserts, door mirror housings, rear diffuser, roof-mounted spoiler and the 20-inch 10-spoke matte black wheels.
