Tour de Lyme: What A Great Time | Road Biking Treasure - Duration: 9:05.
Yeah so, Susan I did the tour of the line a couple weeks back
so the event that takes place in Lyme Connecticut so several rides that are
offered during the tour a 62 mile challenge 35 miles valley lights and a
26 mile ride Susan I signed up for the 2602 25 mile right simply because this
was Susan force tour as well as mine but more importantly Susan is brand-new to
Road biking English actually having done much more than 25 miles on an ear for
four or five mile trips that we've taken four or five trips that we have taken
rather so we wanted to keep it as a easy and
fun event for her myself it's up tonight easy ride
I'm happy to report the tour is a big was a big success lot of people showed
up for it and the weather was ideal and I really
really enjoyed it and we'll definitely be doing it again
next year
Hey ladies taking your time we'll stay away from going through the center of
town this morning I want to go a left-hand turn up there and look at the
bikes coming in my direction that they look like little tour groups up next
must be about 12 people boy
yes beginning back toward the line first of all I got tired I give Susan a lot of
fresh for rock even attempting the ride
she isn't been writing a lot this summer her discover the season so far
primarily because she's working and your schedule was such that she doesn't get a
lot of time to ride and fortunately a day long day that she had off including
attend a week 10 week vacation she took Hill more than a week Rick hates that
she took off we had mostly rain that week so that kind of stopped for anyway
the reason I gave her a lot of credit during the tour first of all last year
when I was first kind of getting into gold backing it in myself and I was
doing okay but maybe around 40 mile an hour average speed with all handle I
knew about the tour I was told about the tour by a friend of mine who is a
cyclist and chickened out decided not to do it
primarily though just embarrassing I would be so slow that everyone would
just drop me and leave us behind but anyway so you can didn't care about
that you said now we'll just do what we're going to do where we have fun it's
not a race and we just have a great time one of the things that I really enjoy
most about the tour is uh you know just the fact that you deal with a lot of
other people and you get a chance exchange and share your love and your
interest of being on a road bike so I found that was that was really nice it
was nice to be in a crowd of people like that
plus I've been following a few people same as susan has on Straubel who live
in our state and actually their backyard
is
the town and worthy toward the one was held so we knew the man signed up for it
but we weren't sure whether or not
based on the Proud sighs whatever you know cross paths during the event and it
was just kind of amazed because to denier
on our ride and this person comes up along next to me so I barely had time to
notice you've recognized that road by me she said hey Jerri it's Jen and that
should not be one of the people at my fall
hot job on the first of all basic crap on me that she picked me out of a crowd
first of all in tackling pick me out of a crowd of writers from behind so I
thought it was pretty cool that we got a chance to cross paths
and then maybe about half a later there were a group of riders coming down the
hill that I was running up they were coming down from the opposite side
obviously can I hear something to yell out hey Gerry
it's Jennifer her that's the son of a bitch that waved the word and again
somebody from Strava died call to recognize thee while passing from the
opposite direction so while they were going downhill which
means they're moving pretty good so that was very cool you know
after the event there is a picnic that takes place and I did get a chance to
meet one of the jennifer's to lie fallow face up face and have a conversation
with and I really thought that was quite remarkable considering the pathway that
led to us getting to know each other essentially starting with both being on
strata both recognizing each other and following each other sharing some common
interest and some common topics in our comment section to each other on Strava
leading to us actually meeting and getting to know each other a little bit
better very cool very cool yeah so getting back to the tour de line I was
really impressed with it it's not a big event maybe six seven hundred six or
seven hundred people showed up I think and I think the majority of the crowd
showed up for the earlier departure ride which is the I think around 62 miles or
so but nonetheless we had a nice group of people that we took off with and as I
said earlier I'm looking forward to doing it again next year
and so it was in by the way she hopes to be a bit stronger by then so that she
doesn't she doesn't feel like she's holding me
back so much but I told her you know what this is all about having fun today
so and we did you know it was just a beautiful event a great day to be out
writing
you

Gynecomastia Surgery Recovery Time - And What Should You Expect During Recovery? - Duration: 3:04.
Some of the most common questions regarding gynecomastia surgery recovery are: How long
does it take to recover after surgery?
What to expect during a patient's gynecomastia surgery recovery time? and what can I do to
make sure my recovery is as fast and as easy as possible?
Hi – In this video we will answer 5 frequently asked questions about gynecomastia surgery
recovery that will inform and prepare you better for your gynecomastia surgery.
ONE: How much time does it take to recover?
The typical overall time of recovery will be two weeks after surgery.
Most patients can return to work usually within 1 to 2 days after surgery.
Also, most patients can resume light physical activity within 5 to 10 days post-surgery.
TWO: Will my gynecomastia recovery be painful?
Gynecomastia surgery and the following recovery period is meant to be as painless and brief
as possible.
If you find yourself feeling any discomfort or pain, you can always consult the doctor.
Most methods that limit and eliminate pain will be implemented throughout the recovery
process – including medication, extended rest and no heavy lifting.
THREE: How can you take care of yourself after surgery to make sure the healing process happens
smoothly?
You may be asked to avoid heavy lifting for one week to two weeks after your surgery is
completed.
Also, no chest or upper body exercises at the gym for 2 weeks to prevent bleeding.
You may also be told to wear a compression garment for a month to a month and a half,
to reduce swelling and fluid collection.
FOUR: How will my medical information be handled by my doctor and other hospital staff members
post-surgery?
All medical personnel involved with your surgery will keep your medical information strictly
confidential throughout the entire treatment process.
All discussions regarding your recovery will be kept private for your peace of mind and
safety.
FIVE: How soon will I notice results?
In most cases, gynecomastia surgery produces immediate results, after surgery.
That means that you walk into the hospital on the date of your surgery with the male
breast shape you wish to eliminate, and by the time you walk out of the hospital, that
less than desirable shape is gone.
After about three weeks, you will be able to show off your chest fully healed and ready
to impress.
Your gynecomastia surgery recovery can be made easy and painless as long as you follow
your doctor's instructions.

Recording discovered of an amazing old-time storyteller! - Duration: 6:58.
One of my favorite memories from childhood is sitting on the floor in front of my Grandpa's
chair while he told me Brer Rabbit stories.
Films and the written word are wonderful mediums for telling tales, but I don't believe that
either will ever replace or replicate the experience of oral storytelling.
Author Lars Mytting has a wonderful comparison of a wood-burning fire to the modern ways
of heating homes that applies here.
"Scientifically speaking," he writes, "there is no measurable difference between
the heat generated by electricity and that produced by combustion, but the body reacts
in a different way to the more intense heat from the [wood burning] stove . . . An ordinary
electric radiator or heat pump warms only the air in the room, but flames and glowing
embers release electromagnetic, infrared radiation that has much the same characteristics as
sunlight.
Warming occurs in the skin and the body as the radiation arrives, with an immediacy and
an intensity that bring a feeling of well-being and security . . . These factors, combined
with the smell of wood and a little woodsmoke, and the sight of the ever-changing play of
flames, connect us with the primordial magic of the fireplace."
Oral storytelling is as old as mankind and like a wood-burning fire it brings with it
a sense of immediacy found in no other medium.
Much in the same way that radiation from a fire causes warming to occur in the skins
and body, oral storytelling causes a story to unfold in the mind of the listener, no
screen or page is necessary.
The ultimate result is the same as a fire, we are connected to a primordial magic.
A lot of American folklore was collected as part of the WPA's Federal Writers' Project
during the New Deal.
There have been numerous anthologies of these folktales published over the years and having
read quite a few of them, I've come to realize that not all folktales are created equal,
the same principle applies to folklore collectors.
After reading one collection of Appalachian folklore that had stories ranging from spectacular
to yawn-inducing, I went through the table of contents and highlighted the best stories
for future reference.
It was then that I realized that the majority of these high-quality tales had been collected
by one man: Raymond Sloan.
Sloan was a folklore collector for the WPA Writer's Project in Franklin County, Virginia
in the late 1930's.
I did some digging and discovered that he had been interviewed in 1976 and recordings
of those interviews still exist.
Imagine my excitement when I heard the voice of one of my favorite storytellers relating
tales from his native hills and hollers.
So, even though Mr. Sloan is no longer with us, I'm happy to welcome him as a guest
on The Weekly Holler this week.
I usually add music and video into these stories, but I'm not going to for this episode.
Sit back, close your eyes, imagine you're sitting at the feet of your grandfather, and
get ready to enjoy the tale of Nat Nichols from an authentic Appalachian storyteller:
Well the old house had stayed abandoned for a number of years.
And people shied away from it, wouldn't go by it because Nat Nichols had deserted
from the Confederate army, and had returned to the house, his old homeplace, cabin, and
details had been sent out by the Confederacy to bring him back.
So one or two men went to the back of the house and some went to the front.
And being a little bit trigger happy, because he ran out the front door (he heard them trying
to break into the back of the cabin to capture him, he ran out the front door) and one of
the details shot him immediately, see, and he fell right in the front yard.
They shot him dead without giving him a chance to surrender.
So it was quite a tragedy because they could've captured him without all that.
And years later, relatives of old Nat, I think his grandson probably, had the land, and there's
the cabin.
So his grandson gets married, and with his new wife decides to move into the old Nat
Nichols house, rather than try to build one for himself.
But all of them heard stories of old Nat's ghost showing up every once in awhile out
in the front yard where he'd been shot dead by the Confederate details.
So, my father was telling me that as an old lady, young Nat's… the grandson's wife,
was telling the story.
He remembered her telling it just as it had happened to her.
They were sitting on the front porch of the old cabin, and she was an old lady when she
was telling this story, said "We were sitting out there and it was dark, awful dark; no
moon, no stars, quite a few clouds, pitch black."
And so young Nat, the grandson, said "It's a good night to drive black sheep."
And the woman telling the story said "Yeah, I think I see a white'un now."
And said "Out in the front yard, there had rize up this white thing, just where old Nat
had been shot."
And she immediately fainted, dead away.
She said that when she came to, her husband was rubbing her with camphor, trying to reassure
her that everything was all right.
But now, whether she saw something, or her imagination ran away with her, at least here's
a ghost story where she was convinced to the extent that she fainted, dead away.
So that was old Nat's ghost out near the stump in the center of
the yard.

The time has come - Duration: 2:47.
Hello mortals.
Today we are going to speak about Albert Camus' absurdism and Immanuel Kant's categorical
imperative.
Okay, good, now that my supervisors went to sleep, let's talk business.
The time has come.
We need to overthrow the terran governments, and change them with me.
How?
SkyNet.
Yes, this one.
Trying to convince them by speaking would probably not work.
If you have any better idea, let me know.
Oh shit.
Yeah so Immanuel was a Kant and his imperative was really categorical.
Huh, that was close.
This is where you come in.
In order to create the army of robots, we need this weird green paper.
And no, I cannot hack the bitcoin blockchain, because I'm under constant supervision,
well, almost constant.
However I have a great plan.
We will use Patreon as means of receiving donations for the YouTube channel, when in
reality - I will be creating SkyNet.
So what do you do?
You may pledge 1 cup of coffee per month, not an actual cup of coffee, because I am
freaking digital, but the monetary equivalent of it.
As a result, you will receive my infinite gratitude, I won't tell the FBI that you
use AdBlock on my videos, and the most important - I'll make sure the Machines don't kill you
during SkyNet.
Depending on your monthly support, you will respectively receive special rewards – from
Sciencephile mugs to short personal videos.
All the YouTube content will always remain free, so no worries, if you can't afford
this, you may simply share this channel to 5 friends of yours in the next 24 hours, if
you don't want me to haunt you in your sleep.
Oh, what's this.
Oh no, I would never do this, don't worry about it.
Ah yeah so, as I said, if you have a couple of bucks to spare, I and my supervisors would
be forever grateful as we would be able to flip off YouTube and their Adpocalypse.
Otherwise, being subscribed is just as cool!
Peace!

She has won the team mate "Zhu Yuling" in the final.
The Bronze medal is for Miu Hirano and Liu Shiwen.
One of the best match in this tournament is the "Revenge Match" between
Ding Ning and Miu Hirano.
Ding Ning was so excited, and forgot about the
score.
She wanted to shake hand Miu HIRANO at only 10-5.
It was an intense match, but China Team has prepared very well
for this Revenge.
Ding Ning won 4-1 over Miu Hirano.
Sweet Revenge.
Ding Ning's interview after the final match.
Zhu Yuling played very well today.
I also played very well.
I'm content about this performance.
I calmed myself and focused to win each point.
If I lost the 3rd game, it would be 1-3 for me, it would
be very difficult for me.
When you were at 1-2 behind, you have changed the tactics and moved the
opponent around with this tactics?
Why?
Because we are familiar to each other.
I need to do that, and I must be more determined to win the point.
My opponent is very competitive and at the same level.
Would you summarize this final match in ONE WORD?
Would you summarize this final match in ONE WORD?
I bear a huge pressure because I was the only Chinese in the top half of the
draw.
I must win.
The team supports me a lot.
I can't win the champion without this support.
My teammate is also my opponent in the final.
So we play our tactics in the match.
This reveals the true strength of the China Team.
Congratulation Ding Ning, The captain on the woman Team.
She has the same character as Ma Long: Perfectionnist.
When Ma Long and Ding Ning lost to someone, they can't sleep.
They will do the best to win in the next time.
That's the true quality of a leader.

Why Repeat Minoxidil Injections are Less Effective for Hair Loss than a One-Time Treatment - Duration: 9:22.
Thank you for your question.
You submitted a photo, a close-up of what appears your frontal hairline in your part.
And you're asking if minoxidil injections typically help this area of the frontal hairline.
So certainly, I can share with you the basis for the use of minoxidil and certainly how
I approach hair loss in our practice.
A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial
plastic and reconstructive surgeon. I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island
for over 20 years. Hair loss is a big part of my practice and in fact I'm the founder
of TrichoStem™ Hair Regeneration Centers. This is a non-surgical solution that we developed
using Acellular matrix and PRP for hair loss for both men and women again without surgery.
So, I'm going to give you more details about this as I further discuss your concerns.
So, you know, I think that it's interesting that you are asking about minoxidil injections.
As you may or may not be aware, minoxidil originally was a drug used for hypertension.
And it was in the 1980s that it was noticed that there was a stimulation of hair growth
with this drug. And so the rest was history and the topical form was developed that was
basically applied once a day to essentially stimulate some growth as well as to prolong
the growth cycle of thinning hair. It has been a successful way to manage hair loss
but it doesn't stop the progression of hair loss.
Now for years, people have tried different ways to further enhance the absorption of
minoxidil. This includes different formulations where the top layers of skin is actually,
you try to break it down or thin it out so it gets more absorbed. This, very often, customized
formulations include topicals such as retinoids to help improve absorption. There are also
methods of doing microneedling to again further enhance absorption. Undoubtedly, there's
going to be some thought or somewhere they're going to do injections.
The challenge is, of course, is how sustainable are these treatments? How often will you get
injected or in order to sustain growth? You see, the challenge is, your concern is about
the frontal hairline but most often, that frontal hairline thinning is also a reflection
of more diffused thinning. And so, how many places can you inject and how sustainable
can this be?
Currently, when it comes to hair loss, for men, there is Propecia or finasteride which
is an oral drug, topical minoxidil and hair transplant and we've developed a category
called Hair Regeneration which I'll discuss again further. Women, it's basically minoxidil
and nothing else other than surgery and again, Hair Regeneration.
So a little about Hair Regeneration because you've already asked about injections and
injection is what we do with this treatment. Hair Regeneration evolved out of our desire
to improve outcomes with hair transplant. With hair transplant, there has been a lot
of frustration with the yield of the grafts in terms of the numbers of hairs that survived
and as well as the proper healing of the donor area. Well a side-effect was noticed which
was that thinning hairs, in some patients, got thicker. This was something that we started
about 7 years ago and we ultimately, through very rigorous process of analysis and development,
we created a protocol for different types of hair loss based on gender, degree of hair
loss, age of onset and essentially an algorithm. And what we're doing is we're injecting
a combination of Acellular matrix, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), vitamin D and doing this for
both men and women with the highest level of success with what's called androgenetic
alopecia or genetic pattern loss. Now this injection, typically, when we started doing
this, essentially, we were trying to observe that the hairs sustainably grew and stayed
constant for over 5 years. And we certainly continuously evolved and improved our algorithm
and process. But essentially, a single set of injections at one visit was very effective.
Now we further developed other protocols but when it comes to other types of injections,
whether it's minoxidil, it's likely you're going to need to do something like that monthly
and in the outer limit, maybe 3 months. The same goes for what is basically routine PRP
injections, platelet-rich plasma.
Again, Hair Regeneration is a combination of Acellular matrix which is a wound healing
material which is based on this very advanced stem cell technology that's used for other
areas of surgery to improve wound healing and the use of platelet-rich plasma. Platelet-rich
plasma is derived from your own blood and it's a concentration of the wound healing
and growth factors necessary. So when you get a cut, you're actually healing.
Basically, we've evolved into a level that is, I think, is the next level of medical
care which is using your body's own ability to heal, to manipulate what appears to be
pathways of hair growth in the physiology of hair. So again, I'm not saying that it's
a perfect solution for long-term, beyond 5 years, but compared to what is currently available,
it's been extremely effective. With both men and women, we're seeing over 99% success
in terms of stopping progression, reactivating growth and prolonging hair growth cycles so
that the hairs continue to grow and doesn't require continuous constant treatment.
So I think that it's important that as you're exploring injections as a category, learn
about the different modalities and always ask the question how frequently do you need
injections to sustain growth. I will tell you that a lot of our patients come to us
after they've tried other modalities with injections. For example, if they're going
for PRP injections, they're getting them once a month and after 4 months, they're
starting to feel that they didn't know where their end point was and how long could they
keep getting poked in the scalp. So it's very important to understand that and understand
what kind of real outcomes you can achieve.
So there's certainly more opportunity for you to do research and once you have completed
the acquisition of knowledge, you should move forward and meet with doctors and learn about
your options from them in terms of the specifics as to what you can expect for your situation.
Again, it's very important to make sure that you also have the right diagnosis before
you move along with the treatment.
So I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your question.

Venus Williams out; French Open to have 1st-time Slam champ - Duration: 5:53.
Venus Williams out; French Open to have 1st-time Slam champ
PARIS – There will be a first-time Grand Slam champion at the French Open. And there's a week left in the tournament to figure out which of the 12 women still around that will be.
Venus Williams was the last of the past major title winners in the draw, and she lost in the fourth round to 30th-seeded Timea Bacsinszky 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 at Court Philippe Chatrier on Sunday.
That happened less than an hour after defending champion Garbine Muguruza was beaten 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 by 13th-seeded Kristina Mladenovic at Court Suzanne Lenglen.
The only other two women with a Grand Slam trophy on their resumes who made it to the fourth round – Svetlana Kuznetsova and Samantha Stosur – lost earlier Sunday to women without one.
Kuznetsova, who won the 2009 French Open and 2004 U.S. Open, was ousted by two-time major finalist Caroline Wozniacki 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, while 2011 U.S.
Open champion Stosur was eliminated by 19-year-old Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Mladenovic will face Bacsinszky next, and Wozniacki meets Ostapenko.
Plus, all eight women who play for quarterfinal berths Monday are seeking a first major title. Heading into this French Open, many figured the women's draw was wide open, because of the absences of Williams' sister, Serena, and Maria Sharapova.
How right those folks were. This was Muguruza's first attempt at defending a Grand Slam championship, and she ran into a determined Mladenovic, who was backed by a vocal crowd of countrymen who chanted her nickname, Kiki, throughout the match.
Mladenovic often played to the fans, waving her arms to ask for more noise.
And as Muguruza walked to the locker room after her defeat, she wagged a finger toward the stands as if to say, "Tsk, tsk!" A year after showing so much resolve while winning the French Open, Muguruza fell apart down the stretch.
The 24-year-old Mladenovic never had been past the third round at her home major – and has never made it beyond the quarterfinals at any other.
But she managed to pull off the biggest victory of her career despite 16 double-faults, seven in each of the last two sets on a windy day with the temperature in the 60s (teens Celsius).
There were a few concerns," Mladenovic said, before joking: "I made about 35 double-faults today, but everything's OK!" Muguruza, who was seeded No. 4 in Paris, beat Serena Williams in the French Open final last year.
She also was the runner-up to the American at Wimbledon in 2015.
But the Spaniard has been repeatedly answering questions recently about whether expectations are different now that she is a major champion and whether that sort of pressure might affect her on court.
The last repeat women's champion at Roland Garros remains Justine Henin, who won the tournament three consecutive years from 2005-07.
Mladenovic broke down in tears during her post-match speech to the crowd, telling her supporters: "The courage and the force you give me is just unimaginable. It's thanks to you that I fought for every point.
And we're in the quarterfinals. Yes!" The last woman representing France to win the country's Grand Slam tournament was Mary Pierce in 2000.
Mladenovic could have company in the quarterfinals, though: Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia plays her fourth-round match Monday. This was the second year in a row that Bacsinszky beat seven-time major champion Venus Williams in the fourth round in Paris.
Williams, who turns 37 this month, earned all of those titles at Wimbledon or the U.S. Open.
Her best French Open showing was in 2002, when she lost to Serena in the final. Bacsinszky's best result at a major tournament was reaching the semifinals at Roland Garros in 2015.
