How to Choose the Best Business Video Background | Video Coach Brighton West - Duration: 2:39.
What should be behind you in your videos?
Backgrounds are really important and often overlooked or poorly implemented, but not
after you watch this video.
I'm Brighton West and I help coaches, authors and solopreneurs use YouTube videos and online
courses to grow their business.

I like my white background, but for my DIY clients, I usually recommend something more
natural.
Backgrounds are really important for establishing credibility in your viewers' mind.
Have you seen the kids interrupt the BBC interview video?
This guy is giving an interview on BBC and his kids pop up into the background.
There's no way to ignore that.
At the end of this video, I've shared the link so you can watch the entire video.
It's really hilarious when mom comes in to round them up and thinks that if she crawls
along the floor, she'll be off camera.
So rule #1 for background is no distractions.
No children, no cats, no words.
Words are interesting.
When we see them on screen, we feel compelled to read them, so watch out for bookshelves
unless you're filming with a DSLR and can blur out that background.
Your viewers will be paying more attention to your reading habits than your video content.
When you're on camera with a new viewer, they don't have much context to decide if
they trust you.
So eye contact, nice outfit and a proper background are things that you need to think about.
Rule #2 is establishing authenticity or authority.
White backgrounds look kind of high tech.
Apple started the white background trend.
Black backgrounds look more high fashion, and natural backgrounds provide context.
If you're talking about cooking, then be in a kitchen.
If you're a professional chef talking about cooking, then it should be a commercial kitchen.
If you are a lawyer, you probably have law books behind you.
Doctors have diplomas or x-rays or skeletons.
The idea is for the viewer to say, "That's the place I would expect to find the expert
in your field."
Now back to those black or white fabric backgrounds.
They're kind of hard to get looking good.
I would not recommend them for a beginner.
The problem is that for white, you need a lot of light directly on the background.
And for black or white, you'll need to manually adjust the exposure of your camera.
If you're looking to do a black or white background, check out another video.
The last thing I wanted to mention is colored paper.
This seems to be a good bet for beginners.
The lighting doesn't need to be perfect and you don't get any wrinkles as long as
you properly store the paper.

Welcome to teatime with Miki and Aarin.
Today we're going to discuss our top 10 favorite SHINee Japanese music videos.
Number one: Replay.
The Japanese title is 君は僕の everything.
Obviously this is their first song.
It has so many more storytelling elements which I really enjoy about this version.
And the fashion also.
Very bright colors, that time period.
It's different, but still very special.
Number two: Juliette.
So this one is a lot of fun just because it's very bright.
Uh huh.
Very like you said, funky, eclectic.
Each of their masks is like, crazy!
Yeah.
I like Key's--Especially Key's--with the hands that are like...It's fun.
It's fun to watch.
Number three: Fire.
Oh my gosh!
This is like one of my favorites.
Song, video is just so adorable.
Just their interactions with all of the people, they're lighting candles.
It's very simplistic and just beautiful.
Especially the visual of them in the heart made with the candles, with all of the people
surrounding them.
Yes!
Even just like their vocals, too.
I think it really showcases them really well.
This is one of my favorite Japanese songs to listen to.
Number four: Boys Meet U.
They're on the beach, all their looks, I mean...
The color!
Like bright blue, all of them in different shades of blue.
You want to be there with them! I feel like I'm there.
You want to be there, I'm like I feel like I'm there with them!
When they're in the cafe with the girl--Imagine if you were the girl though!
Number five: 3 2 1.
This is so adorable!
The way that they made them into art.
They have these little like cutouts around them and they're like running, like tiny with
art supplies.
And they're not dancing.
Yeah!
They're goofing around and having fun.
Again it's more casual and just them being them.
Who doesn't like SHINee goofing off, and you can just watch that for hours.
And do.
Yeah.
We do.
Yes we do.
Number six: Lucky Star.
They have this kind of camping theme.
Again, summery vibe!
Singing into the eggplant, Onew...is my favorite part.
It's so goofy and like, I love the humor that's incorporated in it.
And it's again, just--bouncy.
[starts singing and dancing along] "Baby, baby, baby..."
Number seven: Your Number.
Let's just say it: the suits!
Oh my gosh.
I mean, they're individually different but they're tailored, the stylist, whoever thought
of this.
[gives two thumbs up] And the choreography, I love their individual moments, all together.
And it matches so well with the lyrics and the song.
Who doesn't get the giggles when watching this.
I know.
And every time they say "Can I get your number?", [emphatically] "YEAH!"
Every time they ask [again, dramatically] "YES!"
You can get more than my number.
Number eight: Sing Your Song.
I love the kind of story of this.
They're all kind of--it looks like they're on a campus.
They're like, zoomed in more I feel like, and you just see them really closeup and...
The closeups... [both sigh appreciatively]
They're all so cute with each other.
I love the kind of like camaraderie that you see in small moments.
My favorite is when Jonghyun puts his arm on Onew and they're so cute, and Key looks
a little jealous because he's like mmmm.
I would go to that school.
MMMhmmm.
Number nine: Winter Wonderland.
This video is amazing.
The song, the looks, everything.
And you get that like, winter holiday, like vibe and feel and it makes you feel warm inside.
Neither of us have seen this in a while.
Yeah.
And so the first scene with like Jonghyun in the window, she's like "WAAAAHHH" "AAHH!
I would be like on the window like OHMIGOD".
Then later on, Onew's in the car.
"I would just be in the back seat like..." [peeks over edge] "Hellooo".
Number ten: Get the Treasure.
I love the graphics in it, the special effects, this just takes it to another level!
Whole other level.
It is visually stunning.
Yes.
Everything is still.
Freeze moments.
Yes!
We have to talk about the looks.
We love it.
Obviously.
Including Key's eyepatch.
He likes the eyepatch!
I love it too.
He can pull off anything.
Anything.
They definitely give off a little bit of that like James Bond vibe.
Oh yeah.
They have broken glass and like rubble frozen in the air.
To make it cool.
But it's just in the way.
I know.
We just want to see them.
We want to see them!
Get it out of the way.
We can't see them!
ZOOM!
Onew's wearing leather pants.
How did that happen?
It works.
It's OK.
I'm OK with it.
We love it.
[Wiggles eyebrows]
