EnVyUs Happy: "We are not in that French rivalry any more" - Duration: 5:43.

And you know we are not anymore in that French rivalry, you know.

G2 is one of the top teams, one of many, and we are just here to beat top teams no matter

what.

So you know going forward.

I'm guessing Astralis because they did so well in the beginning of the year.

But for me it's like it's a trio right?

It's G2, SK and Astralis... and I could say also FaZe but I don't know why I'm not like.

I'm not feeling that it will last too long.

You know they're definitely a really good team and a top contender but I'm feeling that

G2 is coming right up.

I think that the really strong players and Karrigan helped immensely to you know make

them play good.

But I think, when I watch them, I don't know, their system might be might be a flawed and.

You know I'm just feeling that G2 is going to grab that third spot.

to get because it's pretty good when you have it.

And I think FaZe might be a bit slower and maybe not.

When the peak it might be just a bit lower than G2 when they do so yeah.

I think it can mesh up pretty well with Coldzera.

I will go with FalleN as well.

Definitely.

4 right?

So the last one will be...

I have two Brazilian.

One Bosnian.

It's really hard.

Like so many good players to pick from.

I think it would go with Dupreeh.

Yeah Dupreeh.

We really like, I notice that when we won rounds when we are playing in the Summit and

DreamHack Tour it was because of individual brilliance and I really focused during this

three weeks on practice.

On building a team play and rounds that we don't need like 5 head shots to win.

And.

I think that's what I'm going into.

Getting rounds where all the players can express themselves and where one player can set up

a player that set up another player to do good.

And I think this is my goal because actually it's really fun and it works really well.

It was like definitely a really big boost when they come up with the majors.

It was insane.

I mean everyone wanted to be at the major, wanted to win wanted to be like part of the

club.

But I think that Valve definitely took a step back maybe.

You can see it on the updates.

They're working on new maps.

I mean they're re-working maps but, You know you don't see updates anymore.

You don't see.

I mean good updates and you see the same problems still persists.

I don't know maybe they should make like moves they should try to invest more because it's

paying off.

I think CSGO is a great game and I think there are so many fans around the world and we still

haven't gone into the Asian market.

I mean there's so much thing that we could do to make the game better and make the experience

for the players even better.

Yeah but they have to like go into it and go deep but they just don't.

And I think they did a great job of making player comfortable and I really wanted to

thank them for that.

It was just overall really good.

Even if we didn't like, make any good impression it was such a good event to play at.

We always talk we always try to find out new stuff, new strategies, new ways to think about

the game.

And even if we fight actually sometimes it's like, only positive for now comes out of our

relationship which is really good because you can fight your can be like, you can agree

together or you can disagree and we always come up with something new, something to look

forward, something to move forward.

And I think overall the we do a great job working together.

How we make The Golden Apple | Как правим "Златната ябълка" – от идеята до финалните надписи - Duration: 10:50.

Hello!

As part of our second crowdfunding campaign,

everyone who directly supports The Golden Apple project

and the creation of our pilot episode,

will get access to exclusive monthly vlogs,

documenting the production process.

Our goal is to show our accountability to you,

as people who have helped us make this episode,

and to keep you updated on how things are going.

This is the first of these vlogs

and in this video, we will explain

the stages of creating an episode of The Golden Apple,

how an animated series is really made,

and why it takes so much time and so many people

to create one episode.

First of all, of course, everything starts with the idea

and, in this case, that idea is not "let's create an animated film",

but rather the so-called design element.

A design element is the lessons and the message

that we want this animated film to relay.

A central idea behind The Golden Apple was

to take everything positive from our folklore and present it in a contemporary way.

This is how the design element underlying the series was born.

The design element itself is only a few sentences long

and will probably be one of the few things which we will never share,

as it would spoil the series for the viewers.

But this is the message that we want our viewers to take away

after watching all of the episodes.

After we have settled on the idea of the series,

or after having decided on and developed the design element clearly,

comes the screenplay.

The screenplay needs to build up the conflict and the characters

in such a way that the solution to this conflict

leads up to that message, i.e. leads to that design element.

The screenplay is where all of the main characters are created:

what each of them is fighting for, what they learn during the course of the story.

Afterwards, having created the main characters and conflicts,

we go from the general idea to focusing on smaller ones:

writing the separate episodes.

After our screenplay is ready,

we begin imagining

how these characters and this universe would look.

The design is divided into two types.

Let's start with the characters first.

Each character's design goes through a few stages until we settle on a final design.

The lead character designer gets a short description of this character's personality

and starts brainstorming.

At this point, our goal is to go through as many silhouettes and ideas as we can

in the shortest amount of time.

This is why these are very quick sketches, with very few details.

We make a lot of sketches and at some point, the art director comes along,

we go over the sketches with the lead designer,

we select a few of them which we think are interesting

and we develop them further by adding details to every sketch and design.

In this instance, we see Iskra as an example.

When it comes to Iskra's costume, we will use the colours of the town of Khan,

because Iskra comes from Khan.

In order for every animator to be able to draw the characters in such a way

that they look as if they've been drawn by the same person,

we need to prepare very detailed documentation.

The example you're seeing at the moment is Bran.

Here we see a "turnaround",

showing how Bran should be drawn from every perspective.

Afterwards, we see a breakdown of the main shapes forming his design.

Here, we see the different facial expressions that Bran makes.

Here we see him speaking and pronouncing the sounds „a", „o", „u".

We come to more detailed developments, which show us how to draw Bran's eyes,

how to draw his hair, the way his scarf works,

all of those details which are extremely important,

because we can have

anywhere between 6, 8, 12, or even 20 animators working on one episode

and each of those animators

has to draw Bran in such a way, that it looks like it's been made by one person

After we've created Bran's design and his dossier, we design his kuker costume,

we create a design for his kuker costume, the movements of his kuker costume,

we design his kuker magic,

and we repeat this process for each visual element.

The process of designing backgrounds is similar.

Since we have three main locations in the series –

The town of Khan, the Kuker Mountains and Kuber Mountain,

the forests and plants, as well as the architecture in each of these locations

is entirely different and is influenced in different ways by our real world.

Here, again, we prepare another design dossier,

which is technically a textbook

for drawing backgrounds in the world of The Golden Apple

and the rules according to which those backgrounds are drawn.

We have the design of the world, the characters and the backgrounds are ready.

The next step is a storyboard.

The storyboard artist, who is a specialised illustrator, receives the screenplay and those design dossiers.

As with everything else, the storyboard goes through various stages.

Here, we see a thumbnail from the short film Legend of the First Kuker Warrior.

This is done so that we can test different visual approaches as quickly as possible

and determine which is the most impactful approach for telling this story.

After the storyboard is cleaned up several times, we begin putting together the animatic.

The animatic consists of putting the various images together in sequence

and the addition of music and dialogue.

The goal is to check how long it takes for certain lines to be spoken

and to see what the rhythm of the music is;

to produce the first cut of the movie and to determine what works and what doesn't.

Once again, we have several different versions.

Here we see different versions for the short film Legend of the First Kuker Warrior.

Everything gets cleaned up more and more until we have a clean animatic

with the first version of the soundtrack, the voices of the characters,

and we can decide if the story works or if something needs to be improved or changed.

After we determine on storyboard level

the emotions of the characters and the sequence in which events take place and are shown on screen,

the storyboard goes to a layout artist.

The job of the layout artist is to take these characters

and to sketch out sets and camera movements,

which would further assist in telling the story in the most effective and moving way.

Here we see the progression of one shot from Legend of the First Kuker Warrior

from the storyboard stage

where we see the character standing and looking over a valley.

And how this shot goes from storyboard to layout –

testing different techniques and approaches.

We add the city, we see several towns.

At some point we decided there was no need to have more than one town.

The character changes his position

to demonstrate that he is triumphant,

that he has won and, in this case, saved Kukerovo.

At this point the atmosphere of the scene is set,

we see that everything is very elated and very happy

and this contributes further to the emotional power of this story.

All layouts get arranged into a single image

and are given to an artist who specialises in working with colour.

We already have the emotions of the characters which have been marked at the storyboard level.

We have the compositions that have been made at the layout level

and we add one more level of story and emotion – colour.

The colour for the entire short film or entire episode is developed in one go,

because it is also used to tell the story.

For example, at the beginning of Legend of the First Kuker Warrior,

we use very cold, dull and gloomy colours.

Everything is blue, white, poison green.

Overall, colours that make the viewer feel anxious and uncomfortable.

The Samodiva nymphs, for example, have much softer colours – pink, calmer blue.

Things with them are much more serene and harmonious.

The background artists in turn take the colour designs,

the finished layout, the background dossier,

and begin finalising the drawings, in keeping with the composition from the layout.

The animators take the layout, check the composition and the dimensions of the characters,

and begin animating them, using the dossiers we mentioned when we talked about design.

These two processes run in parallel

so by the end we have

a finished coloured background for each scene,

as well as finished coloured animation for each scene.

In order to make the character move, an animator uses about 12 drawings for 1 second on screen,

and while the software we are using helps to an extent,

the images still need to be drawn

and the animator has to work very hard

to create a good, smooth and interesting movement.

Once we have the finalised animation and finalised backgrounds,

we get to the last stage of the production of an animated film, – compositing,

or putting together all these elements.

The compositing artist combines the finalised animation with the finalised backgrounds.

He adds colour correction, shadow, light,

special effects – in this case that's the Kuker magic

and everything that is needed

so that the characters look like they are part of that world.

The Kuker magic in Legend of the First Kuker Warrior

was specially created and is based on traditional Bulgarian embroidery

and we had to use special software that we prepared ourselves in order to animate it.

After the compositing, the film is sent over for the recording of the final dialogue,

the final music is also recorded with full orchestra, the opening and closing credits are added,

as well as the final sound effects for the characters' movements,

and the animated film is complete.

Some statistics:

The film Legend of the First Kuker Warrior has 76 scenes

and each of them has gone through every single one of the stages I just described.

A 24-minute episode from The Golden Apple series

will probably have between 400 and 700 scenes,

each of which will also have to go through these stages.

This is necessary so that we can tell the story in the most moving and effective way

and so this production and this series will be entirely capable of competing

with series and productions created outside of Bulgaria.

The creation of one full episode takes around 8 months,

in order for it to go through all stages,

and between 45 and 60 people.

The creation of a full season of an animated series takes about 18 months,

because the various stages overlap for the different episodes.

Throughout this time, while artists are working on the storyboard, or the layout,

or the background designs, or the characters,

there is also a team of producers,

who keep track of what stage each design is at,

whether it has been uploaded to the correct place on our server,

whether all tasks have been delegated,

how much time is left for each task and is there time to go over something else;

They organise when the music will be recorded,

when the design for the various scenes or the animation for the scenes has to begin.

By going through this process

we want to pay due respect to our folklore and to the characters and the stories we want to tell.

Thank you so much for your support and interest,

and if you want to see more of these videos

which will document the whole process in more detail,

you can support us through our crowdfunding campaign.

Thank you!

Celebrity Hook Ups We Never Knew About Until Now - Duration: 5:37.

It's not weird to hear about juicy, and even scandalous, celeb hookups.

But it's the ones you haven't heard about that are really salacious, and totally surprising.

Think you're ready for this jelly?

Amy Poehler and John Stamos

In October 2014, Amy Poehler revealed to Howard Stern that she went on a date with John Stamos

shortly after separating from then-husband Will Arnett.

She said, "I remember I was at dinner with John Stamos…and I was like, 'Oh, maybe this

is a date!'

But I didn't know...I remember thinking like, 'Oh, s**t.

Like, if this is really a date…'

I think I was wearing a Leslie Knope top.

I think I was wearing a shirt from work.

I wasn't foxy."

The Fuller House hunk clarified to Extra, "I asked her out on a date…and we had

a really nice time.

Then I hear she thought it wasn't a date.

It was a date in my eyes."

Poehler's been unknowingly dating ever since.

Kim Kardashian and Nick Lachey

Nick Lachey rebounded from ex-wife Jessica Simpson with Kim Kardashian in 2006.

He told Details that he thinks the reality starlet used him to raise her profile, because

she wasn't famous yet at the time.

He told the mag, "Let's just say this: We went to a movie.

No one followed us there.

Somehow, mysteriously, when we left, there were 30 photographers waiting outside.

There are certain ways to play this game, and some people play it well."

In her 2010 book Kardashian Konfidential, Kardashian admitted that dating the 98 Degrees

hunk got her attention, writing, "The next night I was out with Paris Hilton.

We were in her car and the paparazzi started taking pictures.

Usually they would shout, 'Paris!

Paris!

Paris!'

[But] they started yelling 'Kim!

Kim!

Kim!'...She said, 'Whatever you do, just smile.'"

...And leak a tape.

Cher and Tom Cruise

In June 2013, Cher revealed on Watch What Happens Live that she and Tom Cruise had a

fling in 1987 — and she loved it!

When asked where he ranked among her lovers, she replied:

"He was in the Top Five."

"Really?

Top Five?

And that's a list."

"It's not a long list, just a good list."

She described Cruise as a "great, lovable guy" and said they were "hot and heavy" during

their brief romance.

In 2008, she told Oprah, "It could have been a great big romance, because I was crazy for

him."

Cher's son, Elijah Blue Allman, also revealed another of her Top Five lovers: Val Kilmer,

who she dated in the 1980s.

Cher, we're starting to believe in life after love.

Jay Leno and Sharon Osbourne

Sharon Osbourne revealed on The Talk that she hooked up with Jay Leno in the '70s:

"That man that I had a flingy-wingy with, was Jay Leno."

She explained, "When I was 25, I just moved to America.

I had met my husband [Ozzy], but we weren't together."

She said a pal took her to a comedy club where Leno performed, and they later prank-called

him.

She said, "He liked my voice…One thing led to another.

He came to my house and met me and then we had a little fling.

The fling was more fling for me and not fling enough for him."

In another dimension, reality TV family: The Leno's exists...

Tara Reid and Tom Brady

In 2014, Tara Reid confessed that she dated Tom Brady for about a month in 2002.

She told the Kyle And Jackie O Show, "I have kissed [Brady]...Yeah, he's pretty good looking."

(And Pats fans everywhere just threw up a little bit in their mouths.)

Jake Gyllenhaal and Minka Kelly

A source told Us Weekly that Jake Gyllenhaal pursued his crush, Minka Kelly, for months,

until she finally caved in June 2012.

But the hookup was short-lived.

The source claims, "Minka wasn't into Jake when he first pursued her…[She later] decided

to give Jake another chance…It was never serious, and it's over now."

Maybe if she'd stuck it out, you wouldn't be thinking "Minka who?"

Janet Jackson and Matthew McConaughey

Because Janet Jackson is incredibly private, few details are known about her brief relationship

with Matthew McConaughey, but the pair reportedly hit it off at the 2002 Grammys, and had a

couple casual hookups before calling it quits.

Alright, alright, alright!

Scarlett Johansson and Jack Antonoff

Long before Scarlett Johansson was an A-lister, and way before Jack Antonoff had a hit song

and Lena Dunham on his arm, they were highschool sweethearts.

Antonoff even name-drops the Avengers star in his Steel Train song "Better Love," singing,

"Hey Scarlett / You're not the same."

Hey Jack, so much fun in chemistry class.

Love, ScarJo.

Natalie Portman and Moby

Musician Moby dated actress Natalie Portman in 2001, and he admits it wasn't easy.

He told Spin, "I guess in some people's eyes, [nerds] might be mildly sexy — and, as a

nerd, I'm certainly happy to enjoy some of the effects of that.

But as far as the very brief affair that I had with Natalie, it's made me a target of

a lot of nerd wrath.

You don't date Luke Skywalker's mom and not have them hate your guts."

Luke, I am your step-father…?

Ryan Reynolds and Kristen Johnson

Ryan Reynolds romanced Third Rock From The Sun star Kristen Johnson back in 1999.

She'd later tell Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live:

"I dated him for a couple months.

He's great!

It was when he was on Two Guys, A Girl, And A Pizza Place, if anyone remembers that, and

I was doing Third Rock."

Yep!

Kristen fell for this guy.

It's too bad things didn't work out.

"It wasn't over.

It still isn't!"

How can we FIGHT against a NUCLEAR THREAT? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 10:20.

Humans keep developing more and more powerful weapons.

Iron weapons beat the ones made of bronze and artillery made walls and armours unnecessary.

Today, with airplanes, satellites, submarines, missiles we have completely changed the way

of war-making.

In fact, military innovation has produced important technological advances, but it all

has a limit.

The destructive effect of massive destructive weapons has forced rules to limit their use,

their production and their storage.

And that is absolutely necessary if we don't want the planet to be destroyed.

[THE FIGHT AGAINST NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION]

Massive destruction weapons can be biological, bacteriological, chemical, radiological and

nuclear.

But the biggest problem are nuclear weapons, due to their destructive power and because

thousands and thousands were accumulated in an insane arms race.

In the 60s, 70s, 80s art, music and civil movements took action against nuclear weapons-

remember Flower power?

Two of the songs which better represent the story of these years (and I deeply recommend

you to listen to them if you haven´t) are "Enola Gay" by Orchestral Manoeuvres in

The Dark and "99 red balloons" by Nena.

Well, the real challenge today is to keep North Korea or Iran from carrying on with

their programmes of massive destruction weapons, and also, to keep terrorist groups from taking

them.

A nuclear crisis in Korea would be a real tragedy, and it would definitely affect globalization,

trade and our lifestyle, after all.

Now, the problem is quite complex and we should analyse it from a global perspective.

As we said, there are international rules to limit the acquisition of nuclear weapons.

These rules are classified in two different categories:

The Horizontal Non-Proliferation, meant to prevent countries which don't have any of

these weapons from obtaining them.

And the Vertical Non-Proliferation, upwards.

So the states already in possession of nuclear weapons, especially the US and Russia limit

the number of weapons or even reduce their arsenals.

[THE HORIZONTAL NON-PROLIFERATION: THE NPT]

The horizontal non-proliferation tries to prevent new countries from joining the nuclear

club.

And, obviously, for countries like Iran, North Korea or terrorist movements not to lay hands

on these kinds of weapons.

Yes, it is true and we already talked about it in another VisualPolitik video: in Korea's

case…it seems like these rules have not worked well enough.

Well, this is what the NTP has achieved since 1968:

In the early 60s, it was estimated that, by the year 2000, around 20 countries could hold

nuclear weapons.

Many countries like Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Spain or Sweden had the capacity to develop

these weapons.

However, thanks to the NTP and international leverage, very few states are in possession

of nuclear weapons today.

(The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty established that the five permanent members of the Security

Council: The United States, The Soviet Union, China, France and the United Kingdom were

the only nuclear powers and it forbade other states from acquiring those weapons).

In exchange, the members of the nuclear club, the five nuclear powers, would commit to help

the rest of the countries to develop nuclear energy for civil purposes.

However, with time and despite all of this, some countries have succeeded in becoming

nuclear powers.

Today, besides the five powers previously mentioned, 4 more countries have nuclear weapons:

Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea.

And then there's Iran, which also tried.

You all probably know, during the Ahmadinejad administration, Iran tried to get one of these

bombs, and this would have meant a sure threat both for Israel and the entire region of the

Middle East.

But, fortunately, the International Community took action to fight that possibility and

the sanctions received by the Security Council of the United Nations, The United States and

the European Union damaged the gas and oil exports and hurt Iran really badly.

Well, all that international pressure had an impact in the next elections and Rouhani

became the president of the country, who was a more moderate candidate.

After very harsh negotiations in 2015, they reached an agreement in which Iran stopped

its nuclear agenda and the rest of the countries would lift sanctions on exports, which were

good news in a country like Iran where lack of exports were so damaging for its economy.

As for North Korea…let its leader speak for himself:

We don't know exactly which weapons does Korea own, although some estimations calculate,

as we had already seen in a previous video, from 10 to 20 bombs.

Unsophisticated missiles and bombs, but powerful enough to trigger a severe crisis.

"North Korea has escaped the international pressure by operating underground nuclear

tests and launching missiles.

For this reason, the United Nations Security Council has strengthened the penalty system

for North Korea after the last underground detonation in September 2016.

The press has even dared to speculate with a possible military preventive action against

North Korea from Trump's administration.

However, American experts are warning: this military action could trigger a military reaction

with both massive destruction weapons as well as conventional means.

A war in the Korean Peninsula would mean a human catastrophe and it would negatively

affect the world's economy, but it would affect its neighbours particularly: China, South

Korea and Japan.

And the mere existence of this war threat could lead to a terrifying arms race in the

region and it could even make Japan take exceptional measures…we already mentioned it in this

other video, remember?

That is why China must stop the cravings of this impulsive and terrible kid known as Kim

Jong-Un if they want to avoid all these consequences.

Because this kid won´t play with toys, he will play with an entire country.

[THE VERTICAL NON-PROLIFERATION]

As for the vertical non-proliferation: during the Cold War, the U.S. and the Soviet Union

developed more, better and more powerful weapons in a creepy nuclear race.

Each country needed to have more and better weapons than the other, so they stored thousands

and thousands of nuclear warheads.

They also multiplied their means of delivery, bombardiers, missiles, submarines to an extent

nobody could have ever imagined.

"The arms race reached an amount of 65,000 nuclear warheads around 1985, enough to destroy

the Earth quite a few times"

In those years, there were many tests with nuclear weapons in the atmosphere, in the

sea, in space and sometimes, whether intentionally or not, they used people as guinea pigs to

analyse the effects of radioactivity in humans.

Isn't it terrible?

The Japanese artist Hashimoto has prepared a video where you can see the different nuclear

tests since 1945.

It looks like a videogame, but it´s not.

Fortunately, with the end of the Cold War, the United States and Russia agreed to reduce

their nuclear arsenals as well as their means of delivery.

With President Obama, in April 2010, the New Start Treaty was signed in Prague.

This treaty aimed to limit strategic weapons so each country would "only" hold 1,500

nuclear bombs by the year 2018.

Too many bombs still.

There are also other rules to limit missiles and means of delivery and, of course, in no

way can they conduct more nuclear tests.

The CTBT is a treaty which completely forbids any nuclear tests.

No more tests have been carried out since 1998…with the exception of North Korea.

Anyway, the conclusion of all this story is that: yes, we definitely must stop the nuclear

weapons proliferation of Iran or North Korea and we definitely have to prevent terrorist

groups from laying their hands on these destruction means.

But the nuclear arsenals still existing in the U.S. and Russia should also keep reducing

because, among other things, the risk of misuse and lack of control of these weapons is always

there.

In the world we inhabit today, interdependent and globalized, wars make no sense.

Bernard Brodie, the North American strategist already said so after World War II.

"Thus far the chief purpose of our military establishment has been to win wars.

From now on its chief purpose must be to avert them."

(Bernard Brodie, 1946)

In the U.S., President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a pioneer in the search of peace and nuclear

disarmament.

In a

world dominated by nuclear weapons, Kennedy refused to conduct any nuclear tests in the

atmosphere and he was criticized for that in his own country.

However, we could have avoided so much suffering, so much waste of money, so many problems if

the world had listened Kennedy´s ideas on nuclear weapons!

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEWS.

IT WAS REVEALED YESTERDAY THAT THE F.B.I. IS NOW

INVESTIGATING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP FOR OBSTRUCTION

OF JUSTICE.

NOW, I DON'T KNOW IF TRUMP OBSTRUCTED JUSTICE, BUT I'LL

TELL YOU WHAT HE HAS OBSTRUCTED: MY ABILITY TO

TALK ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN TRUMP EVERY NIGHT ON

THIS SHOW.

AND LET'S BE HONEST, THAT'S THE REAL CRIME!

ISN'T IT?

I WANT TO TALK ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT BEYONCE'S TWINS HAVE

ARRIVED.

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?

WHERE ARE THEY?

BUT I GUESS THIS INVESTIGATION IS ALSO A BIG

DEAL.

DEMOCRATS ARE HOPING THAT THIS WILL LEAD TO IMPEACHMENT

REPUBLICANS, ON THE OTHER HAND, ARE SECRETLY HOPING

THIS LEADS TO IMPEACHMENT.

NOW, HOW DO YOU GUYS THINK THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED

STATES RESPONDED TO THESE VERY SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS?

IF YOU GUESSED, ON TWITTER, I'M SORRY TO REPORT

THAT YOU WERE CORRECT.

BECAUSE THIS MORNING, DONALD TRUMP TWEETED:

"THEY MADE UP A PHONY COLLUSION WITH THE RUSSIAN

STORY, FOUND ZERO PROOF, SO NOW THEY GO WITH OBSTRUCTION

OF JUSTICE ON THE PHONY STORY.

NICE!" I HAVE TO SAY, DONALD TRUMP

IS THE FIRST PRESIDENT TO MAKE REGULAR USE OF THE

SARCASTIC "NICE."

ISN'T HE?

YOU NEVER HEARD F.D.R. GO "THIS IS A DATE WHICH WILL

LIVE IN INFAMY.

NICE!" (LAUGHTER)

WELL, ACTUALLY, BILL CLINTON DID USE "NICE," BUT IT WAS

DIFFERENT.

IT WAS WHEN HE SAID, "I DID NOT HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS

WITH THAT WOMAN -- NICE!"

(LAUGHTER) TRUMP ALSO TRIED TO DEFLECT

THE ALLEGATIONS BY GOING AFTER HILLARY CLINTON.

AGAIN.

THIS AFTERNOON, HE POSTED: "CROOKED H DESTROYED PHONES

WITH HAMMER, BLEACHED E-MAILS AND HAD HUSBAND MEET

WITH AG DAYS BEFORE SHE WAS CLEARED-- AND THEY TALK

ABOUT OBSTRUCTION?" NOW JUST SO YOU KNOW, I

DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS MEANS EITHER.

BUT LET'S GO THROUGH IT PIECE BY PIECE.

LET'S START WITH CROOKED H.

NOW, I THINK HE'S TALKING ABOUT HILLARY, BUT CROOKED H COULD

ALSO BE A MEMBER OF THE WU TANG CLAN.

"CROOKED H" SOUNDS LIKE HOW SOMEONE WOULD DESCRIBE THE

LETTER "K" IF THEY FORGOT WHAT IT WAS CALLED.

YOU KNOW, WHAT'S THE LETTER, THE CROOKED H, YOU KNOW THE ONE.

K, THAT'S RIGHT.

NEXT, HE SAID SHE BLEACHED HER E-MAILS.

COME ON, THAT DOESN'T SOUND SO BAD.

DOES IT?

SOMETIMES, BEFORE A REALLY HOT DATE NIGHT WITH MY WIFE

I'LL GO GET MY E-MAIL BLEACHED.

WHAT?

IT'S A COURTESY TO YOUR PARTNER.

ALL KIDDING ASIDE, GUYS.

THEN HE SAYS HILLARY, "HAD HUSBAND MEET WITH AG DAYS

TELLING YOU EXACTLY HOW OVER HER HE IS.

BUT HE REALLY IS OBSESSED WITH HER.

HE ALSO TWEETED, HE ALSO TWEETED: "WHY IS

THAT HILLARY CLINTON'S FAMILY AND DEMS DEALINGS

WITH RUSSIA ARE NOT LOOKED AT, BUT MY NON-DEALINGS

ARE?" IT'S A GOOD QUESTION, AND I

THINK I CAN ANSWER THIS ONE, MR. PRESIDENT.

IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S A GRANDMA LIVING IN NEW YORK AND YOU

ARE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

WELL, FOR A FEW MONTHS, AT LEAST.

NICE!

Top 10 RIDICULOUS Things We're Trying to Accomplish With TECHNOLOGY - Duration: 15:08.

Top 10 Ridiculous Things We're Trying to Accomplish With

Technology

10.

Self Driving Cars And Their Consequences

One of the exciting new technologies being worked on by Google and now many other companies

who have decided to get in on the action early, are

self driving cars.

The self driving car is supposed to be beneficial because it could help disabled people who

cannot drive get around, and also because it would — ideally — ensure that distracted

driving was a thing of the past.

However, despite the pros, the company's testing them have struggled to get approvals.

In California where google does most of their testing, the approvals came with the caveat

that there still always had to be a licensed driver at the wheel who was paying attention

and could take over if needed.

This brings up the question of how they should function, and the entire thing is a huge legal

and moral quagmire.

Some legislators are unsure if cars should be allowed to be both self driving and driveable,

or if cars should only come one way or the other, to make it easier to properly enforce

rules and safety regulations.

They are also concerned about how it would be programmed in terms of risk evaluation.

Whether through the fault of the car or another car or however it happened, if a situation

should occur where the computer is in control, and danger is apparent, it has to decide how

to make decisions.

Most humans would instinctively make the decision that would protect themselves, but some lawmakers

think the car should be designed to take the course of action that protects the most lives,

even if it kills the driver.

While this stance may make sense morally, it may make it unlikely to get people to drive

them.

9.

Trying To Come Up With Algorithms With Which To Predict The Future Of Mankind

Predicting the future is something that humans have been trying to do for about as long as

history goes back.

From rulers to normal citizens, and from rich to those of little means, people have sought

to divine the future of themselves and the world around them in the hopes of somehow

influencing it to better their fate.

In more enlightened times beliefs in fortune telling and astrology have mostly waned, but

that doesn't mean there aren't some people who are still obsessed with knowing what will

happen ahead of time.

There are multiple projects throughout the world with the aim of putting together banks

of supercomputers who will comb data at incredibly high speeds and extrapolate the likely future

of mankind.

However, while there is the odd supercomputer out there, they are usually dedicated to more

important tasks.

Those trying to predict the future have been trying to come up with predictive models in

bizarre ways.

One group has been trying to teach a computer to predict future human behavior by watching

videos, namely, videos of American television shows like The Big Bang Theory and America's

remake of the popular UK show The Office.

The computer was able to predict the actions coming with 43% accuracy, which is fairly

interesting, but it doesn't really mean it is good at predicting real human behavior.

TV shows follow a formulaic pattern that a computer program shouldn't have too much

trouble spotting.

However, real life has way more variable and is way more random and unpredictable.

8.

Achieve Immortality Through Whatever Means Necessary

People throughout the ages have been obsessed with trying to become immortal.

Tales tells of those who went on lifelong quests, wasting the life they could have been

enjoying in the attempt to get as many lives as they could possibly ever want.

It is likely some of these were morality tales about enjoying what you have, but some people

will never stop obsessing over the idea.

As we have mentioned before, some people are studying the Benjamin Button Jellyfish in

the hopes of uncovering how it can turn itself back into an embryo to heal, but that is just

the tip of the iceberg in terms of our attempts to make ourselves immortal.

Scientists have been studying everything from cloning people and transferring consciousness,

to just cloning and replacing whichever organs fail, to every possible angle of stem cells

and now many different nano particles as well.

These studies have so far helped prolonged life but not brought anyone closer to true

immortality.

The truth is that immortality would have bad consequences for the entire world.

In order for the natural ecosystem to work properly, people need to naturally die.

The world can't exactly be overpopulated, but it can reach a point where it cannot sustain

enough food and water for everyone.

If this were to happen, people would start to die, immortal or not.

Just because you can't die from disease, injury or old age doesn't mean you could

not starve to death.

7.

Touchscreens Have Set Us Back In Terms Of Interfacing With Technology

In many futuristic movies going back to the '80s and perhaps further, using touchscreen

technology was one of the main ways to show that your movie was set in a much different

time.

This is one of those cases where technology basically became a self fulfilling prophecy,

even though it made no sense at all.

People were inspired by all these movies and geeks started inventing and heavily marketing

touchscreen smartphones and then tablets.

Before long finding a smartphone with a keyboard was almost impossible, and Windows even tried

to implement touchscreens on some of their laptops — a project that failed miserably.

Touchscreens lead to an incredible amount of autocorrect failures and time spent trying

to re-type messages.

Dozens of typing apps have been designed to help people type properly on a device that

is now incredibly terrible for typing, despite that being one of its main purposes.

These interfaces are now appearing in many more places, and usually cause more problems

than they solve.

While a touchscreen may seem more futuristic, it makes typing slower and less accurate,

and really provides no true benefit to the user.

While we certainly need better interfacing technology than a computer and mouse, the

touchscreen was actually a step back.

Perhaps someday, we will find a truly efficient and non-frustrating way to use our electronic

devices.

6.

Voice Activation And Speech Recognition Is A Gigantic Waste Of Time And Money

In the realm of interfacing with technology, another thing incredibly common in Sci-Fi

movies is the ability to interact with your technological devices by simply speaking to

it.

Not only can your computer perfectly understand what you are saying, but it also understands

your unique tones and even can tell your emotions.

This may not sound very far advanced, but the truth is that this kind of speech recognition

technology is basically wizardry as far as actual science is concerned.

Speech recognition is incredibly complicated and difficult to work with.

Getting a computer to even recognize the correct words in the first place can be quite difficult,

but even that can be a challenge for one person and their voice.

Even if the machine is calibrated to a person's voice, if they have a slight cold or slur

their words it could skew it terribly.

Voice recognition is so hard to program because to accurately understand, it has to be able

to account for the incredible amount of different dialects and accents in the world, put it

into proper context and even know when the usual person they interface with has a slightly

different sounding voice for some reason.

Devices like Siri attempt to show what speech recognition can do and mainly come across

as a joke.

The attempts to integrate this into technology so heavily are another example of people putting

stuff from sci-fi movies into real life not because it is a good idea, but because it

looked cool on screen.

5.

Attempting To Create A True Artificial Consciousness With Full Sentience

Many people are obsessed with the Sci-Fi idea of robots where it seems to be truly conscious

of itself and what it is — many popular media will explore the issue in depth as a

kind of moral question, postulating how far the rights of artificially conscious beings

should go.

However, the truth is that there aren't any scientists, at least not any serious ones,

actually trying to create a artificially conscious being.

The problem is that right now we don't even really understand what makes a consciousness

in the first place.

The best research into brain science doesn't really come close to understanding why humans

are able to be fully aware of their experience, and some experts believe that if we accidentally

created a computer that could truly think, we might not even realize it.

Recently experts like Elon Musk and Bill Gates have come out against certain types of AI

research and have strongly cautioned against the dangers.

Many people think they have jumped the shark and shouldn't be taken seriously, as we

are nowhere near creating artificially conscious beings.

However, the truth is that the dangers would be just as bad whether the AI we create is

ever actually conscious in any form or not.

As experts will point out, a computer doesn't need to be conscious to be better than you

or more efficient than you at something.

If it beats you at chess, it isn't conscious of its victory, but it still won.

If AI were to have a flaw in its programming — which is not unlikely with the extreme

complexity of the programming — that caused it to do something very bad for humanity,

it would do it extremely efficiently and quickly.

Given too much control over too many things in the name of making our lives easier, it

could be hard to stop, or do untold damage in mere minutes before we can shut it off.

Many experts are already talking about implementing various forms of kill switches and other safety

features for AI in the future to avoid possible calamity.

4.

Allowing Our Power Grids to Be Controlled By And Connected To A Network

Many people tend to take their power for granted until it goes out.

An insane amount of work goes into keeping the lights on 24/7 and many people don't

realize just how easy it is for something to go wrong.

Plants can only store energy for a short time so they pretty much always have to be on and

they need to ensure that the right amount of energy is being produced to keep from producing

too much, and still ensure everyone has their power.

In the event of major disasters, power going down can greatly slow recovery efforts, and

put many more people in danger.

This is why it is essential that our power grid is well maintained and kept safe from

any threats.

However, there is an increasing worry that the security of the United States power grid,

and perhaps others throughout the developed world, could be vulnerable to hackers, whether

foreign or domestic.

Many plants are still analogue, which is lucky, but more modern plants are often connected

to networks that can be reached without being on location.

Even just the ones that could be shut down or messed with for a short time could cause

untold damage and chaos to the country.

While it may seem like a good idea to have the internet always connected, in terms of

security, the only way to be truly safe is to never allow your system to be connected

to any outside network at all.

Now, experts do caution that the things that can be reached digitally even with the ones

that are, in some way connected, would not be able to cause as many problems as some

people fear.

After all, the plants themselves always have many failsafes and people working around the

clock to make sure everything is working properly.

What hackers could actually have access to is somewhat limited, so the current chaos

possible is not incredibly high.

If we do continue to make everything more digital though, and we allow it all to be

integrated into a network, even an accident or a computer worm could be catastrophic.

3.

The Movement By Companies To Automate And Digitally Integrate Every Home Appliance

Chalk this one as well up to Sci-Fi movies causing people to want technologies they don't

need, we have the push in the past decade or so, that seems to be repeated every year

at tech shows, to integrate all of your home appliances to work along with your smartphone

and tablet and other technology.

This is the kind of thing you would see in something like the Jetsons and may seem extremely

cool, but for very good reason, it just doesn't catch on.

Every years companies like Samsung attempt to push these products, and every year consumers

decline.

The fact of the matter is that while they are sold as convenience devices, they actually

make everything way more complicated.

Making refrigerators and toasters digital is a solution looking for a problem — all

you are doing is adding more things that can go wrong.

It would also require most people to get entirely new sets of appliances to make them all properly

work with the attached smartphone apps.

Even those who are very well to do and interested in new technology find the idea to be a tough

sell.

It's essentially attempting to sell something as convenience that adds more steps to people's

lives and provides them with more things that could break or stop working properly.

It may seem cool because it is like the movies, but technology should make people's lives

simpler, not more complicated.

2.

Virtual Reality Research Is Breaking New Ground, But Not Asking The Right Questions

In many cases people are convinced that virtual reality is another step forward in human evolution.

They figure that being able to mimic reality with technology is incredibly advanced, but

while it is certainly a very difficult and cutting edge field, that doesn't necessarily

mean that it is a good idea at all.

While there are some possible real world training applications for virtual reality — such

as teaching someone surgery or other such important procedures without needing to deal

with a live patient, it also comes with its own ethical quandaries and other issues.

Many psychologists are already worried that when virtual reality really takes off, people

will soon find it hard to differentiate between the two worlds.

While devices could be designed to stop people from playing for too long at a time, hackers

are known to disable such things.

Also, while some think keeping things separate might make for a better situation, technology

like Pokemon Go is already proving that people are looking to make virtual reality that is

augmented with real world movement.

This can of course cause serious dangers like people who have been hurt crossing the road

and not looking first properly because they were trying to catch a Pokemon with their

phone, but psychologists are even more afraid of the long term new psychoses that could

develop around a world where people are more and more unable to tell what is real from

what is not.

As for training people to do dangerous work, this is also an ethical consideration.

Some would argue that despite how real it may seem, it isn't the same as the real,

actual training, which could lead to all kinds of legal and moral issues.

1.

Using Cutting Edge Medical Technology To Cosmetically Change People's Eye Color To Blue

It wasn't long ago that most people didn't expect to live past their 50s or maybe their

60s at the very best, and there have been times in history when life expectancy was

much, much worse.

As we have continued to advance our medical technology we have managed to do all kinds

of medical marvels.

We have been able to give normal lives to people who have lost senses, limbs, and other

important parts of their bodies.

We have been able to cure or lessen the effect of many things that would have been a death

sentence not long ago.

We've reached a point where people are now more worried about the cost and availability

of care than they are about the actual quality.

However, while technology and quality of care has greatly improved, there are still many

people in the world who are without the medical care they need.

While there are some doctors out there who see this need and work to make sure everyone

needs care, there are others who have decided there are more important things to do, and

are working tirelessly in their labs on prototype technology to change people's eyes to the

more desirable color blue.

While this may just sound like many other existing cosmetic surgeries, it was an incredibly

expensive and time consuming research process that is likely to benefit only the very rich.

They point out that some people are very rarely born with mismatched eyes, and that this could

help them fit in, but it is an incredibly small number of people that couldn't sustain

a business and they are clearly looking to go commercial with their invention.

Unfortunately, in modern days some in the medical field are way more interested in finding

a way to get rich than in truly improving medical care.

Rep. Barbara Lee on Shootings: We Must Reduce the Hate in This Country - Duration: 9:27.

AMY GOODMAN: This is Democracy Now!, democracynow.org, The War and Peace Report.

I'm Amy Goodman, with Nermeen Shaikh.

NERMEEN SHAIKH: We spend the rest of the hour with Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee.

She's the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Peace and Security Task Force.

She's also the former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus.

AMY GOODMAN: There is a lot we want to talk about, but we're going to begin with Wednesday's

twin shootings.

In Alexandria, Virginia, a gunman opening fire at a baseball field, shooting House Majority

Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana and four others—Congressmember Scalise is in critical condition.

The gunman was shot dead by two Capitol Hill police.

He's been identified as a 66-year-old white man named James Tommy Hodgkinson from Belleville,

Illinois.

He has a history of being arrested for domestic violence.

He's also made violent threats online.

In one recent Facebook post, he wrote, "Trump is a Traitor.

Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy.

It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co."

Then, in San Francisco, just outside of Congressmember Barbara Lee's district, a UPS employee shot

dead three of his colleagues before killing himself.

Our guest is Barbara Lee of the Bay Area, a Democrat of California, chair of the Congressional

Progressive Caucus Peace and Security Task Force.

What happened in your area, in San Francisco, hardly got any attention, the deaths of the

three UPS workers, as well as the gunman, because it was overshadowed by the shooting

that took place of your colleagues, the congressional baseball practice.

Can you talk about what's been taking place in this last 24 hours, Congressmember Lee?

REP.

BARBARA LEE: Sure, Amy.

First of all, it's a very sad moment, not only for us in Washington, D.C., but for the

Bay Area, for my district, for San Francisco.

Death, violence—you know, this is a very somber moment.

And my prayers and thoughts go out to the victims and families of those here in Washington,

D.C., and in the Bay Area.

And, you know, we just have to look at the investigations, where they lead, what they

reveal, but, you know, we have to make sure that each of us do our part to ensure that

the environment in which we live is not hostile, is not toxic and does not lead to allowing

people who do such heinous acts to commit these crimes.

It's so sick, really, and it's very sad.

It's tragic.

And at this moment, I think, basically, what most of us are doing are trying to help reduce

the tensions and to continue to reflect upon what happened and to pray for those who have

suffered so much.

NERMEEN SHAIKH: And, Congresswoman Lee, what was your response when you heard that he's

one of the people who's very critical of Trump, signing a petition against him and

writing in a Facebook comment that "It's Time to Destroy Trump & Co."?

REP.

BARBARA LEE: Well, I condemn violence and those kinds of behaviors and actions by anyone.

That is outrageous.

It's terrible.

It's hateful.

It led to this.

It led to the serious critical injuries of my colleague and police officers, Capitol

police, staff and others.

And so, these kind of behaviors and thought that lead to this kind of violence is very

dangerous.

And it's up to all of us to make sure that we talk about how wrong this is and how dangerous

it is and how we must really speak about violence and help reduce the hate in this country,

because there is quite a bit of hate right now.

And this is an example of his comments and whatever the authorities are learning about

him.

Really, it's tragic.

And again, right now, though, our thoughts and prayers are with those who, you know,

have been hurt and affected by, or killed—the families of those in the Bay Area who have

been so tragically killed.

NERMEEN SHAIKH: Well, I want to go to one of the people who's come out saying that

liberals—so-called liberal politicians and others are responsible for shootings like

this one.

This is Fox News co-host Eric Bolling speaking shortly after the shooting.

ERIC BOLLING: There's been a sea change recently in the words liberal politicians

and celebrities are willing to use.

Democrat politicians have been playing fast and loose with the way they disagree with

the right on the GOP healthcare proposed law just alone.

Cory Booker, a Democrat from New Jersey, said this will, quote, "mean death, pain and suffering."

Terry McAuliffe, the Democrat governor of Virginia, said people are going to die.

Yep, Virginia.

Let's call it the home field for today's shooting.

... Snoop Dogg's gun, Kathy Griffin's head, Shakespeare's bloody rampage—it

goes on and on.

How many innocent people have to die before we realize that words do matter?

Crazy people act on the crazy things they hear from politicians and celebrities.

Think before you utter those blind, hateful words next time, liberals.

NERMEEN SHAIKH: So that's Fox News co-host Eric Bolling speaking shortly after the shooting

Wednesday.

Congresswoman Barbara Lee, your response?

REP.

BARBARA LEE: Amy, I'm not going to respond to that.

You know, that is just outrageous.

He's politicizing it.

And at this moment, you know, I think those that politicize what has taken place need

to stop it, quite frankly, and really reflect and pray for the people that—you know, who

are really very critically ill and for the families and victims of those who were killed.

So he should just stop it.

I'm not going to respond to it.

We have plenty of time to talk about that.

But right now is not the moment to do that.

AMY GOODMAN: Well, let me go to Virginia Governor McAuliffe, who came to the scene, you know,

who spoke after the Alexandria shooting and talked about how there are too many guns on

the street.

GOV.

TERRY McAULIFFE: Let me say this: I think we need to do more to protect all of our citizens.

I have long advocated—this is not what today is about, but there are too many guns on the

street.

... Background checks, shutting down gun show loopholes.

You know, that's not for today's discussion, but it's not just about politicians.

We worry about this every day for all of our citizens.

AMY GOODMAN: So that's Governor McAuliffe.

The national spokesperson for the NRA, the National Rifle Association, criticized Governor

McAuliffe's comments.

This is NRA's Dana Loesch speaking on Fox News.

DANA LOESCH: I think that the governor's assertion of this is inaccurate, greatly so.

And he also mentions loopholes, which is a fabricated term that people use when they

don't want to describe criminal acts.

... The gun show loophole, Stuart, is a made-up term.

If you drive with a suspended license, is that a loophole, or is that a criminal act?

It's a criminal act.

There is no such thing as a loophole.

Private sales are very heavily regulated by the federal government, and there are a number

of laws that govern those.

And first and foremost, private sales are only for hobbyists or historical artifacts.

You cannot be a storefront and be engaged—and be engaging in an interstate sale without

having to run a background check.

So he's horribly misinformed.

AMY GOODMAN: That's the NRA spokesperson.

Congressmember Barbara Lee, your response?

REP.

BARBARA LEE: Listen, many of us have long been advocates for gun safety measures.

So I agree with Governor McAuliffe.

But, once again, this is not the time, as I said earlier, to get into our policy debates.

We have to take the time to really try to bring the country together.

We have our debates about gun safety and gun control, and we will continue to do that,

because we know there are too many guns out there on the street, and we need background

checks.

We need all of the commonsense gun safety measures that we've talked about for decades.

And so, it's not the time, though, I don't believe, for the NRA or for any of us who

have been fighting these battles for so many years to really talk about it.

We need to try to figure out some common ground, so our children can see that at least during

moments of crises the Democrats and Republicans, conservatives and progressives, are trying

to bring the country together, so that we can continue with our democracy and fight

for the values and the policies we believe are correct for the country.
