Can a single protein treat lupus? Featuring Dr. Maria Kontaridis - Duration: 2:54.
Hopefully I will be able to explain to you the significance of some of the work
that we've done in a hope hopefulness that comes from it and in regards to
being able to find therapeutics and treatments for this devastating disease
so I should also start by telling you that this is actually very personal to
me I've been doing research and started my doctoral work in 1997 and over the
course of that time I had never really had an opportunity to really work on
lupus but my mother was diagnosed with SLE in 1986 and so she had suffered
through many of what all of you some of you are suffering through these days and
for 25 years I kind of watched as there wasn't a lot of therapy there wasn't a
lot of treatment options available to her she unfortunately passed away in
2009 but serendipitously or maybe a sign from my mother some of the work that we
had been doing over those 25 years turned out to be very related to lupus
and that's what I'm going to talk to you about today it's an autoimmune disease
that affects multiple organs so it's a very systemic disease
primarily affecting the kidneys and affect the heart through effort
fluorosis it can cause skin lesions as you can see here with this butterfly
rash but there's variable expressivity but not everyone will express all the
same symptoms acidity so it becomes very difficult to diagnose interestingly it's
primarily affects women in childbearing years although there haven't been any
real evidence to suggest that that quarrel is being able to again with and
moreover there is an increased incidence of specific and minority
again and it's not very clear still why that's the case so we're trying to
hopefully try to figure out ways but there's epigenetic or genetic components
that may contribute to this medication but what we do know about lupus so far
is that there are both environmental and genetic components that contribute to
this disease so mutations or these factors can
essentially cause what's called at apoptotic debris which is certain types
of cell that that circulate in the system these tend to then reduce self
antigens which means your own immune system starts to attack its own cells
that are anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agents that are
currently used for treatment options but about 20 to 30 percent of patients
particularly those with the most devastating parts of SLE such as lupus
nephritis typically don't respond to this therapy so there is an essential
need to come up with new treatment options for this disease.

Manchester United news: Martial can now prove himself - Duration: 2:13.
Manchester United news: Martial can now prove himself
Anthony Martial has been backed to finally prove himself at Old Trafford by former Manchester United and France defender Mikael Silvestre.
Martial made a major impression at United in his first season, yet struggled last year under Jose Mourinho, and scored just 8 goals in 42 appearances.
Yet the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic shouls suit the young Frenchman, according to Silvestre, who spoke to Metro.
"Anthony has reached the level of Manchester United and the French national team, so I think he will improve his game to perform at least at the same level as the first season," Silvestre said.
"The turning point for me was the Euros in France. He was substituted in one game, he'd had a difficult first half, and after that he didn't play any more", continued Silvestre.
"Sometimes, when you take a slap to the back of the head, it's difficult to bounce back, and all season he was trying to get back to his best.
Zlatan's aura was big, his character, his ego, and what he was spreading around him was sometimes intimidating for the younger players. But also it gives you an example to follow, so it was good to have him around.".
Martial has been linked to a return to France with Lyon looking to replace Alexandre Lacazette, who has left for Arsenal.
Despite the departure of Ibrahimovic, Martial will now have to compete with Romelu Lukaku, after the Belgian forward left Everton for £75m, as well as the continued emergence of Marcus Rashford.

CAN, COULD and BE ABLE TO - Part One - Duration: 6:49.
Are you ready for some English grammar?
I hope so!
We've had a lot of requests for a video about these three verbs.
There's a lot to cover so we're going to split this video into two parts.
And we'll show you, step by step, how to use them in English.
We're going to look at how we use these three words to talk about ability.
We also use 'can' and 'could' to make requests and ask for permission.
We have another video about that and I'll put a link here.
But this is about ability and possibility.
Let's start with the most common verb: 'can'.
We use it to talk about things we're able to do because of knowledge or skills that
we have Si, digame, cuando?
Muy bien.
She can speak Spanish What are you doing?
I'm trying to whistle.
Oh I can do that.
It's not just people that can do things.
Things can too.
Our old coffee maker was very small so we bought a new one.
This machine can make six big cups.
So we use 'can' to say what's possible.
Can you fix it?
I'm not sure, but it might be possible.
Great.
The negative form of can is 'can't' and we use it to say things are impossible.
I can't whistle.
Digame, cuando?
I can't speak Spanish.
I can't fix it.
You've probably seen the word 'cannot', where can and not are written as one word.
It's a formal word and you're more like to see it in written English.
We don't usually say it.
We say 'can't'.
'Can' is a modal verb.
We use it with the base form of other verbs – so the infinitive form, but without to.
There's no 's' on the third person.
We don't use 'do' to make questions.
We change the word order instead.
And we add 'not' to make the negative.
So 'can' is a special verb.
It doesn't have an infinitive form.
It doesn't have an -ing form.
And it doesn't have a perfect form.
They just don't exist.
When we want to use these forms, we use a different phrase – be able to.
It means the same thing as can.
So let's look at these examples again.
'Can' and 'be able to' are both possible here and they mean the same thing.
'Be able to' is more formal and when we're talking about knowing how to do something
like this, we generally say 'can'.
But there are some situations where it's not grammatically possible.
Let's look at some.
I can whistle.
I'd like to be able to whistle.
Notice Jay says 'be able to' here.
He doesn't say 'can' because we don't use infinitive forms with can.
Another example.
Mmm.
I love being able to have three cups of coffee in the morning.
Yeah, we've been able to make six big cups.
After 'I love' we need an -ing form.
But can has no -ing form so we say 'being able to'.
And can has no perfect form either so we say 'been able to'.
So when should you use 'can' and when should you use 'be able to'?
Well, normally you should use 'can'.
It's what we generally say.
But sometimes it's not grammatically possible.
When that happens, use 'be able to'.
Now we had a question from a viewer.
Bionexusgold said they always have a problem when they want to say 'can' for situations
that happened in the past.
Well yes, it's tricky, Bionexus.
We can't say 'canned', but perhaps you can guess what we say now.
We say 'was able to'.
This mouse is a problem.
I've ordered you a new one from Amazon.
Oh, thank you.
How much do I owe you?
Nothing.
I was able to log in with your password.
So 'was able to' is like the past tense of 'can'.
When you want to use 'can' to talk about a past situation, use 'was' or 'were able to'.
Were you able to fix it?
No sorry, I couldn't.
Oh well.
Thanks for trying.
Notice Jay's answer here.
Could is another modal verb that we use to talk about past ability.
And the rules are a bit special.
So we're going to look at them in part two.
Come back next week and all will be explained.
Bye for now.

The 5:2 Diet That Can Help You Avoid And Even Reverse Type 2 Diabetes - Duration: 3:24.

THE 5:2 DIET THAT CAN HELP YOU AVOID AND EVEN REVERSE TYPE 2 DIABETES
Diabetes is one of the most widespread diseases.
Its health consequences may be very serious, especially if the sufferer does not pay attention
to lifestyle and quality of his/her food.
If you suffer from diabetes or pre-diabetes condition, we offer this 5:2 diet regiment,
which will help regulate your blood sugar and fight diabetes.
WHAT IS DIABETES?
With our daily diet, our body gets the fats, proteins and carbohydrates needed.
When the carbs are digested, they are broken down into glucose which causes an increase
in blood glucose levels.
This is detected by the pancreas beta cells which begin to secrete insulin.
Insulin's role is to allow glucose to enter the cells and thereby restore normal blood
sugar levels.
But when a person has diabetes, it can no longer assimilate sugar or store it properly.
The causes of these disorders depend on the type of diabetes.
Type I diabetes, which accounts for 10-15% of all diabetes cases, mainly affects adolescents,
young adults and even children.
It is considered an autoimmune disease that causes destruction (by antibodies and lymphocytes)
of pancreatic beta cells, responsible for insulin production.
It is characterized by an intense and persistent thirst, frequent urination and rapid and unexplained
weight loss.
The Type II diabetes is the most common type of diabetes; it affects about 85% of the patients
usually above 40 years old.
It is due to insulin resistance, which prevents the sugar to penetrate into the cells and
allows it to remain in the bloodstream, causing hyperglycemia.
Another type of diabetes which occurs during pregnancy is called gestational diabetes.
It requires a rigorous medical and nutritional monitoring to prevent overweight in the unborn
baby and possible health complications for the mother.
THE 5:2 REGIME TO TREAT DIABETES
This plan includes 5 days a week during which the person has the right to eat whatever he
wants and keep his usual calories, obviously avoiding unhealthy foods such processed products,
soft drinks and foods high in sugar; then 2 days of "strict regime" during which
the menu is more limited, with a total absence of carbohydrates and 500 calories less per
day for men and 600 for women.
This alternation between strict balanced meals and menus helps regulate blood sugar levels,
detoxifies the body, helps in losing weight and prevents the onset of many diseases such
as cancer, Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular illnesses.
According to a study by the University of Florida, the principle of this diet is that
fasting intermittently reduces inflammation in the body and stimulates the immune system.
During 10 weeks of experiment, people were required to alternate between a consumption
of 25% and 175% of their usual calorie intake.
Result: an improvement in their heart condition, blood pressure, blood sugar, in addition to
weight loss.
Caution: this diet is not recommended for pregnant women.

One Plants, Another Waters - How you can be important in God's Kingdom - Duration: 9:59.
If you would like to help support Crack Your Bible without spending a dime, this
is NOT like "please, go to my Patreon." I don't have a Patreon. I need your
help because I only speak English fluently.
(Music Plays)
Hey it's Rachel!
Today on Crack Your Bible, I want to let you guys know how much I appreciate
everybody who's been subscribing. It was just the last week of January when I
started this channel and now, while in comparison to regular YouTube
channels where they have thousands and thousands of subscribers, I try to keep
things in mind of, "if I started a church in January, if I had 200+ people,
would that be amazing?" Yes! It is amazing, so I am so happy with how this
channel has been growing. And I just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you
who subscribe. But I also want to let you guys know what is happening with this
channel, because if you're not aware, I also do social media for Crack Your
Bible. Now if you follow me on Instagram, or Twitter, or Pinterest, or Medium or my
own website, you'll know that I do post different things for those sites. For
Instagram on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, I have special posts. We have the
"verse of the week." We have "Tuesday truth." We have "word to the wise" and then we
also have "Flirty Fridays." On Twitter, we also post everything that goes on Instagram
over to Twitter as far as those four days. But I also will post links to
articles and things that I find interesting that deal with religion. Now
on Instagram, that's usually where I also do my updates about a video, if like a
videos running late or I found out something crazy on the news, I will do a
short little video post about that. Now also, if you follow me on those sites you
will know that I'm starting to do special links where
you can watch a video a day earlier than it posts. So what I do is I just
make it an unlisted video when I upload it. I will put the link on my social
media for you to watch it. that way you can watch it before it ever airs and
then the next day is when it will actually go live for everybody else. So
if you follow me on social media, you'll actually sometimes get links for videos
a day early. Now I have had a website for years and I didn't really use it
because it was something that we were forced to create in college for one of
my classes - so that's why I have that website. But this past week, I got a
notification from Google telling me "hey you have a lot of photos on your account
that are up text. Would you like to archive those?" So I was looking through
them and I noticed that what they were screenshots of really long comments
that I've made on YouTube or other channels dealing with religion that I
wanted to save for myself, because they took a lot of time and effort. So I
thought, "why don't I just start transferring what I wrote on to my
website and then link it to one of my videos." Because I'm sure that if you're a
new subscriber, you haven't necessarily seen my older videos. The quality isn't
as good, but whatever, such is life. But I wanted to start reintroducing those
topics and then also giving more information that is not in the video. So
I'm going to, over time, start posting more on my website. I'm not going to have
like a schedule like I do on this channel where I post Monday, Wednesday and
Friday. Or on Instagram, for sure. like without a doubt, we have posts Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. But I wanted you guys to know that there is a lot
more information out there than I am creating for Crack Your Bible and it's
not all concentrated to YouTube. So if you want to check it out, you can. But
here is the big thing - if you would like to help support Crack Your Bible without
spending a dime; this is NOT like "please go to my Patreon." I don't have a Patreon.
We're not at that point yet, like we're just not there. So if you have people
that you like, go support them financially, whatever. But this is where
I'm at right now in Crack Your Bible. I NEED YOUR HELP
because I only speak English fluently. But from my analytics, I can see that
there are a lot of you out there that are from outside of the United States.
And if you're outside of the United States, I bet you speak more than one
language. So in every single video description, you're going to see a link
for translating the subtitles of my videos. Now if you go look at my videos,
you'll see every single video (I painstakingly did this) has a little "CC"
next to it. So I've actually transcribed every single one of my videos so that
people can watch my videos in closed captions, and those only go out really
to English-speaking viewers. But we want to share the gospel with everybody, and
unfortunately not everybody has access to the gospel. So one plants,
(1 Corinthians 3:5-8 on screen) another
waters, but it's the Holy Spirit that brings the increase so I am asking you
to be the one that waters for Crack Your Bible. Now I am going to post a link on
how you can actually transcribe my subtitles. You can also transcribe the
description, You can transcribe the title into whatever language that you speak,
and that way it will show up in other search boxes in other videos, for people
who don't speak English. Now when I first started, I was actually going in and
sitting there, and transcribing it by hand. And then I realized that Google
will do an auto transcribe, and then you just have to go in there and fix it up
in English. So I've done that for all of my videos where we are up to 75, 76
videos, that I've done this for. It is a lot of work, but because I've already
done the brunt work, all the English is done, Google will auto translate it into
whatever language that you speak. And then, all you have to do is go through
and proofread Google's translations to make sure they're correct. Now sometimes
it gets words wrong that I'm saying, sometimes I speak very fast, so Google
will translate it incorrectly. Because I am an American, I do use quite a bit of
slang and idioms in my videos, so those would need to be translated correctly.
You can always use urbandictionary.com to see what I'm actually saying, if
something sounds confusing. But I would really love and appreciate your support
in spreading the gospel, because if maybe you're not sure how to go out and spread
the gospel, this is one way that you can do it. And Google automatically will
credit you in every description box, that you were the one that provided the
translation services for this video or that video. So I'm willing to leave it up
to you. You can translate whatever videos that you want. You don't even have to do
the whole video, but because we are smaller, it would be really great if you
did because there's not necessarily going to be somebody else that speaks
that language right now, for now, because we're still very, very tiny. So I will
include a link up here and down below in the description box. And again, there is
always a link in every single video to do transcription services for Crack Your
Bible, because it is up to all of us to go into all the world and preach the
gospel, and this is one way that you can go out into all the world and help
preach the gospel. So it's not going to cost you any money, but again, I would
really appreciate it. And just know that in the Kingdom of Heaven, when God says
"what did you do with the talents that I gave you?" Well, you can say
that, "I helped share the gospel with the tools that You gave me." Christianity is like
a pyramid scheme, because if you have any part in spreading the
gospel, you get credit for everybody who was saved because of the one little
thing that you did. So if you share the gospel with one person, and that person
shares the gospel with a thousand people, you, in the Kingdom of God, get credit for
that one person and the other thousand too. So again, I would really appreciate
it if you would help me share the gospel by translating my videos, and my captions,
and my descriptions, into whatever language you speak. Your choice, I am fine
with it. And as always, I would love if you would like, subscribe, and share. Make
sure to hit that button so you get notifications, and I will see you later!
Bye!

I Can't Make This Up Kevin Hart Book Review - Duration: 1:02.
So the book "I cant make this up" I expected it to be funny, but what I didn't expect it to be was Profound. You can picture the story of how Kevin
Hart grew up as ending in any number of ways, but Comedic Mega-Star wouldn't seem to be a likely outcome.
With a father who was a criminal with substance abuse problems and a mother who was basically raising him on her own in a tough Philadelphia
neighborhood,
Kevin could have been a bitter, resentful victim of the system. Instead, he chose a classical Stoic path and realized that most things were out of his
control
Having reached this conclusion, he also determined that the only aspect of his life that he could reliably control what how he chose to
respond to his circumstances.
I really enjoyed this book and I'm going to recommend it to my kids even ! Get the free audible version below.

Gossip Spy Can't Resist Interrogation (ep 4) (by We Are Thomasse) - Duration: 1:52.
(French accent:) Alright Monsieur Farley. Reveal your sources.
Your sources, Monsieur Farley! Now! Or else!
Alright! Fine!
Marinara, Alfredo, Bernaise!
For a Marinara sauce, you'll want to start with fresh roma tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil, and some really good sea salt-
-all over the floor,
which is why my girlfriend, Agent Short,
insists upon using tinned tomatoes which I think is ridiculous.
Probably the only thing we'd ever actually fight about if she'd ever talk to me.
I'm certain Agent Short is not your girlfriend!
Only a fool would date you!
Agent Short's no fool!
Well, that is true.
She's so smart, Mademoiselle Franck!
Did you know she's a spy too? We have so much in common!
But she's an American spy!
I learned how to make Alfredo sauce by watching her one night in the kitchen
with my spy goggles.
Alfredo sauce is so naughty and creamy!
Speaking of naughty, did you hear that the Vatican spies have started slipping secrets to the Russians?
I know because Anton told me!
He's like old-school KGB, but totally my best friend-
But... I never... told you...
how not... to burn... the Bernaise!

How Far Can North Korean Missiles Go? - Duration: 6:55.
In earlier shows we compared the North Korean military with the giant of the United States
military and the military of its neighbor, South Korea.
The secretive state came out looking rather meager, in terms of defense capabilities anyway.
But just how capable is North Korea if it were to make use of its growing stockpile
of missiles?
Or, what is the likelihood of that happening any time soon?
Since the armistice was signed between North and South Korea, a certain amount of animus
has existed between the two nations.
Separated by what's known as the demilitarized zone, or the DMZ, this close proximity has
imposed years of insecurity on South Korea and to some extent stoked fears worldwide.
Is this insecurity justified, or has it been, in part, a sensation fueled by media exaggeration?
That's what we intend to find out, in this episode of The infographics Show, How Far
Can North Korean Missiles Go?
Don't forget to subscribe and click the bell button so that you can be part of our
Notification Squad.
First of all, for those of you who might need to sharpen your geography skills, we'll
give you some pointers as to where some countries stand on the map with North Korea.
The buffer zone of the DMZ stretches for about 160 miles along the North and South Korean
border.
The 2.5 mile wide zone, called the most dangerous border in the world, is only 35 miles from
South Korea's capital, Seoul.
The DMZ consists of guard towers, a patch-work of landmines, and thousands of soldiers – including
U.S. soldiers.
The country also shares an 880 mile long border with China and a short 11 mile land border
with Russia.
The Chinese border has been called North Korea's lifeline to the outside world, while the Russian
border still doesn't have roads for car or pedestrian travel.
There is a train that goes between the two nations, though.
Pyongyang, North Korea's capital city, is situated roughly 500 miles from Beijing, 799
miles from Tokyo, 6,700 miles from Washington DC, 5,397 miles from London, 2,940 miles from
New Delhi, 10,790 miles from Brasilia, 5,166 miles from Cairo, and 5,348 miles from Australia's
capital, Canberra.
By land or by sea, the state that is often referred to as a kind of boogeyman nation
is quite a trek from those nations which seem to fear it the most – besides, of course,
South Korea.
Nonetheless, a missile doesn't care about long arduous journeys.
If North Korea has one country outside of South Korea that it paints as its most uncompromising
villain, it is, without any doubt, the United States of America.
Americans should have nothing to fear given the size of their military and defense capabilities,
but also bearing in mind the huge distance that separates the nations.
Well, news reports surfaced on the 4th of July this year that North Korea had boasted
that it now has bargaining power with the USA.
The ace in its hand is the development of a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM),
that could potentially reach the U.S. mainland.
The North Korean announcement caused quite a fuss as most Americans were busy celebrating
their Independence from their now best friend, the UK, with Donald Trump taking to Twitter
and exclaiming, "Let's end this nonsense once and for all."
North Korean news said the country was now a strong nuclear power state, adding that
it had "a very powerful ICBM that can strike any place in the world."
Propaganda, or serious threat?
The missile causing this media hullabaloo is called the Hwasong-14.
What we know about it, or what we think we know about it, is derived from watching it
being tested and what the North Korean media said.
According to the state media, a recent test saw the missile flying for a period of 39
minutes, reaching 1,741 miles in altitude and travelling for a total of 580 miles.
That's not far enough to reach the USA, although analysts believe the missile is capable
of travelling for around 5,100 miles, which is almost far enough to reach the west coast
of America.
Los Angeles lies about 5,800 miles from North Korea, although Hawaii and Alaska are much
closer.
At the moment, analysts are uncertain if the ICBM is capable of carrying a nuclear payload,
but the recent July 4th celebration inside North Korea has without a doubt turned some
heads.
Almost immediately after the Korean threat was posed the U.S. said it was prepared for
any kind of attack.
What kind of nuclear threat does North Korea actually pose?
Don't most of the nukes, the usable ones anyway, belong to the U.S. and Russia?
North Korea carried out its first nuclear test in 2006 and its latest was in September
2016.
This year, North Korea's vice foreign minister said, "We've got a powerful nuclear deterrent
already in our hands."
Indeed, it's estimated that North Korea has around 20 nuclear bombs, although how
far they are capable of being launched has remained somewhat unclear.
If the latest news about the ICBM is correct, North Korea could potentially launch a nuclear
strike not only against the USA but throughout Asia, most of Europe, and the Middle East.
Its bombs, most analysts agree, have about half the destructive power of those that hit
Japan.
However, in 2016, North Korea said it had conducted a hydrogen bomb, or H-Bomb, test.
This was largely discredited, but scary enough, given that these bombs are about 50-100 times
more powerful than those that hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
North Korea is also said to be packing other long-distance missiles, one being the KN-08,
or Hwasong-13.
Its potential is not yet fully understood, and according to U.S. military sources, launching
the missile has met with a series of failures.
Let's just say if it can do what it is supposed to do, and that is travel for more than 3,400
miles, then this gives North Korea the ability to hit most of Asia.
But, and it's a big but, analysts disagree about how far it can go, what propels it,
and if it can even carry a nuclear payload.
With all this speculation, you might rightly be feeling confused, but don't worry, even
the experts are confused.
It's fairly certain that North Korea has about 50 intermediate-range ballistic missiles,
or IRBMs, which are said to be capable of reaching distances of around 2,000 miles,
enough to devastate Hong Kong, and pretty much destroy the U.S. territory of Guam and
its military base there.
One such missile is the Musudan (BM-25).
The Korean Central News Agency described such a missile as being able to carry "a large-size
heavy nuclear warhead."
Again, most of Asia could take the brunt of such a weapon if it were to carry a nuclear
payload.
The same goes for the Taepodong-2, a missile used for launching satellites, but with the
potential of carrying a nuclear warhead for a distance of anywhere between 2,500 miles
and 4,000 miles.
This brings Europe back into the danger zone.
North Korea has quite a cache of much smaller missiles, one of which is the funny sounding
No Dong missile.
The No Dong, which, according to some reports, was partly designed by Russian and Chinese
scientists, is a Medium-Range Ballistic Missile.
It's capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, chemical weapons, and High Explosives.
It only has around an 800-mile range, but of course that won't make nearby countries
feel any more comfortable, especially as North Korea has about 300 of them.
This number is also said to be fewer than 50, it just depends on who's doing the guessing.
Even smaller are North Korea's road-mobile, liquid propellant ballistic missiles, or SRBMs,
which are definitely operational.
This includes the Hwasong 5, 6, and 7.
All are capable of carrying high explosives or chemical weapons anywhere from 180-600
miles.
So far this year, North Korea has fired 17 missiles during 11 tests, each missile having
a different range.
Present leader Kim Jong Un has been quite trigger happy since he came to power in 2011,
firing off more missiles than anyone in North Korean history.
The most in one year was 24 in 2016.
So, what do you think, serious threat, or overblown analysis from the West?
Do you live within the range of North Korea's new long-distance missile, and if so, how
do feel about that?

Can You Game on a $400 Laptop? - Duration: 4:56.
- Hey guys, this is Austin.
I do videos on a lot of very expensive gaming hardware
but today I wanna find out, can I game on this $400 laptop?
This is the Lenovo Z50, and it's currently less than $370
on Amazon right now.
Based on the giant Gears of War 4 picture they have
on the product page, I think it's pretty safe to assume
that they're aiming this at gamers.
Typically with budget laptops, you're getting integrated
Intel graphics which are fine for basic use
but really can't handle serious gaming.
However, here we actually have an AMD FX APU
which in theory should work a little bit better.
Also that was a very meaty seal.
Think I actually cut through the box.
Yep, cut through the box.
(laughs)
So inside, first of all we get the laptop itself
and the first thing I notice is that the battery actually
doesn't come installed, it has been a long time since
I've seen a laptop with a detachable battery like this.
This is a 2800mAh battery.
For reference, I feel like a lot of smartphones
have bigger batteries than that.
We also have the power cable and what I'm sure
is the power adaptor.
So nothing too exciting in the box but of course,
this is a budget laptop.
What we're really getting here is actual performance.
At least, hopefully that's what we're getting.
This battery is taking me back, it's been a long time
since I've actually used a laptop like this.
So at first glance, it looks very plastic-y
but once you open it up, you do see that it looks
pretty decent inside, mostly thanks to
the sort of fake brush metal here.
This is a very interesting selection of ports.
So not only is there VGA, which is really weird
on a laptop in 2017, we also have Ethernet, HDMI,
a USB 2.0 as well as 3.0, but the really weird part
is when you actually come around to the DVD drive.
Yes, this laptop in 2017 comes with a DVD drive standard,
which actually is not really a bad thing, just weird.
A big downside is that this does lack AC WiFi,
instead opting for the older school Wireless N.
Now to be fair, you do have an Ethernet port
so it's not all bad but there are a lot of very unusual
design choices with this laptop.
What makes this special are the specs.
Inside, it has a quad core AMD FX 7500 APU
with Radeon R7 graphics, as well as eight gigabytes of RAM.
This should give us a fair bit of power to game.
No, it's not going to shame a laptop with dedicated graphics
but the Radeon stuff really isn't bad and this costs less
than $400, you really can't be picky at this price.
However, there are some sacrifices to get that much power
at this sort of price.
The biggest one is the screen.
This guy is rocking a 15.6-inch panel
with a resolution of 1366 by 768.
It is not very good.
As a low-end TN panel, this really does bring me back
to the days where budget laptop screens
were kind of terrible.
One of the biggest places that you can see it
are with the viewing angles, so if you look at it
straight on, it's not that bad, but if you get off axis,
it ghosts really badly.
Plus, having such a low resolution on such a big screen
just makes everything a little bit weird,
there's very little screen real estate.
Now I have to delicately balance the laptop
so it doesn't completely wash out on camera.
Hey guys, this is Austin.
This is a $330 laptop and I'm going to be using it
for the next week.
The speakers are okay but this is not
going to be a great video-watching experience.
Thankfully, the keyboard isn't bad
so it has the sort of classic Lenovo layout
and it feels pretty good to type on.
Only problem is there's a fair bit of flex
on the actual keyboard itself, but it's totally usable.
And the same thing goes for the trackpad.
It's maybe not the most accurate thing in the world.
However, you are probably gonna want a mouse for gaming.
Although that's true for every track pad ever, so.
Remove three screws on the back and it's actually
easy enough to open the laptop up.
And one of the nice things about being a little bit more
of an old school design is that there's a lot
that you can actually upgrade yourself.
Not only can you get access to both of the memory slots,
but there's also a one-terabyte hard drive pre-installed
that looks super easy to swap out.
If this was my PC, I'd spend a few extra bucks
and throw an SSD in here, it will make a big difference.
The real test for this laptop, though,
is to play actual games, so to start with, we have CS:GO.
So right now, we're playing at 768p
which is the max resolution of the screen
and we're playing with a mixture of medium and high settings
and we're getting decent frame rates.
It bottoms out in the mid 30s
but in some of these more open areas,
we're getting in like the 40s and 50s.
Next we have Rocket League.
This is another game that isn't incredibly demanding
but here on quality settings, which is roughly equivalent
to medium, it's pretty smooth,
we're getting in the mid 40s to low 50s.
Next we have Minecraft.
Now yes, this will run on pretty much anything
including a Raspberry Pi, but on the Lenovo,
we're able to crank the settings up pretty much all the way
to the max and we're still getting really solid frame rates,
even flying around here as it loads chunks,
we're still on the 60 to 70 frame per second range.
Next we have Overwatch.
This is a little bit harder for the laptop to handle
so even on low settings here, it's a little bit choppy
so in less action-oriented scenes, it's fine,
but once we get a lot of characters
and a lot of effects on screen, we do sometimes dip
a little bit below 30.
It's kind of playable but you've gotta really
wanna play Overwatch.
The Lenovo Z50 is definitely not a perfect gaming laptop
but for less than $400, it's actually not bad.
As always, I will have a link to check this guy out
in the description and let me know,
would you pick up a $370 gaming laptop?
Let me know in the comments below
and I will catch you in the next one.

so lets begin with today's recipe, lets get started!
I have taken bell peppers, cucumbers, and carrots all julienned
I've also taken Hummus, the link to its recipe is down below in the description
olive oil and paprika powder/deggi red chilli powder
pour some hummus in any shot glass and pour olive oil
sprinkle paprika powder
and decorate the salads like so, we're done!
I have here washed lettuce leaves
chopped mangoes, make sure they're not too sweet, but a little sour!
chopped cucumber
shredded carrots, lemon, Paneer/Tofu cut into small cubes
salt, lightly roasted sesame seeds, olive oil, paprika, and honey
add all of these to a bowl
add salt to taste, sesame seeds
some olive oil
paprika powder
and a little bit of honey
you can moderate the spices as per your taste
now mix them and then place some on the lettuce leaf, sprinkle some sesame seeds and done!
okay time for papad tacos!
I've taken washed and chopped green coriander
chopped carrots, onions and boiled corn
bell peppers, salt and paprika powder
add the corn, onions, bell peppers, carrots and coriander leaves to a bowl
salt, paprika
(or red chilli powder)
lemon juice
mix well
for the tacos you can use masala papad or plain papad
You can toast it on a pan or microwave it
once ready from both sides, immediately take off the heat and fold into halves like this
this is how you get papad tacos
stuff them with the filling we prepared a while ago
and serve!
I have cracker biscuits
cheddar/mozzarella cheese slice that I've cut out to the biscuit's shape
chopped olives, corn, bell peppers, onions
pizza sauce, pizza seasoning or any other seasoning that you have, and chilli flakes
place the cheese on top of the biscuit
spread pizza sauce and veggies of your choice
sprinkle seasoning
and red chilli flakes
pizza crackers are ready to serve!
I've taken some bread
butter, garlic cheese spread
bell peppers, corn, garlic herb seasoning, italian seasoning,
black pepper powder, salt
onion
now we'll add cream cheese spread
You can use mayonnaise as well
add chopped veggies
very little salt since the cheese already has salt
black pepper powder, and seasoning
you can skip the seasoning in case you don't have it
mix well
cut out circles out of the bread through any bottle cap(big) or cookie cutter
and toast them, you can make this without toasting as well
spread some butter and then our cheese filling
last but not least, cucumber rolls
peel off the outer skin of a cucumber once or twice
and peel out slices from within
and now spread the cream cheese
a little bit of mint chutney(mint sauce/hari chutney) or any dip of your choice
roll
sprinkle sesame seeds
they look so beautiful!
so these were some easy savoury snacks
now time for sweets!
we'll need soft dates
semi sweet choco chips or any chocolate
almonds/cashews/nuts of your choice(roasted)
deseed the dates
fill the cavity with the dry fruits
cover them up once again
melt the chocolate in the microwave
dip those stuffed dates into the chocolate
and with the help of a spoon or fork fully immerse them in the chocolate
shake off the excess and lie into a plate with butter paper
refrigerate for 15-20 minutes
and that's it, date with chocolate is ready to serve!
i've taken bananas, peanut butter
chocolate, colourful sprinkes and crushed digestive biscuits
slice the bananas
spread peanut butter on one slice
use another slice to cover it
you can use nutella or caramel if you don't like peanut butter
refrigerate these "banana sandwiches" for 15-20 minutes
melt the chocolate
dip the banana sandwiches into the melted chocolate with the help of a toothpick
make sure they coat well
sprinkle some crushed biscuits or colourful sprinkles
refrigerate again to let it get settled for 15-20 minutes
