AMD VEGA - A NEW FRONTIER....or in other words the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition Graphics Card - Duration: 3:40.
So let's talk about AMD Vega Frontier Edition. AMD promised to start shipping its new generation
of video cards in late June, and now here we are with Radeon Vega Frontier Edition cards
in our virtual shopping carts. AMD has also filled in a few more technical details on
the high-end GPU, and clarified the most important spec: price. The air cooled model is $999,
while the liquid cooled version is $1499. Meanwhile AMD has also posted the final specifications
for the card, confirming the 1600MHz peak clock. Sustained performance is a bit lower,
with AMD publishing a "Typical clock" of 1382MHz. It's worth noting that this
is the first time AMD has used this term – they've previously used the term "base clock",
which is generally treated as the minimum clockspeed a card under a full gaming workload
should run at. As for power consumption, AMD lists the card's
typical board power as "< 300W". This is consistent with the earlier figures posted
by retailers, and perhaps most importantly, this is AMD's official typical board power,
not the maximum board power. But moving off the specs for a bit, if you
go to AMD's website, they have this to say relating to the Vega Frontier Edition.

seems like AMD is inflating the amazingness of their new card a bit, if that's even
a word, but that doesn't mean that the new Card is horrible. It's still really good.
It seems like AMD is mostly focused on content creators, and the company has even encouraged
gamers to wait for the Vega RX series, but AMD is also including dual-mode drivers for
the card, so it can easily be flipped from pro applications like CAD and computing tasks
over to video game acceleration. This makes the most sense for game and VR developers
who need both types of acceleration on a daily basis. It also sounds complicated, and deserves
some testing before it's trusted with a professional workflow.
I was actually a bit surprised to hear that the Vega Frontier Edition has up to Up to
13.1 TFLOPS of peak single-precision floating-point performance. I Didn't really know what to
expect in the first place, but I'm still amazed by the numbers and stats I'm seeing.
Of course, it'll be up to actual physical tests to measure the full capabilities of
this new card, but for now I've gotta say that AMD is doing pretty well when it comes
to producing Good Pieces of Tech for the consumer market. However long it may take for the said

free-will is the ability to act and make decisions, without any external constraints or inflence.
your choice of coffee might seem your free-will at first, but its not.
Our brain is made-up of approximately 100 billion neurons that are involved in the decision
making process.
we live in a world of cause and effect.
and there are alot of causes that have an effect on every decision that we make.
in-fact, these decisions can be a group of subconscious thoughts just popping-up in our
brain.
like, i like the consistancy of coffee more than tea.
their coffee tastes really good! drinking coffee makes me more active! all these subconscious
thoughts become tiny-subconscious decisions which either increase the probability of one
option, or decrease it.
all working together, resulting in the action that we call, a conscious decision.
even if you would have to choose letter A, B, or C.
your brain would take action based on your previous history, information, beliefs and
pattern related to the letters.
In 1983, benjamin libet performed an experiment involving a volunteer.
the volunteer had to randomly make conscious decision, like flicking their wrist, all according
to their free-will.
while all of this was going on, the activity of their motor cortex was being recorded by
an EEG machine.
motor cortex is that part of our brain, that is involved in control and execution of voluntary
actions.
no-one was expecting what happened next.
to everyone's surprise, the motor cortex became active, hundreds of miliseconds before the
conscious decision was made.
as if, the conscious decision was destined to happen.
hence, questioning the existence of free-will.. ok, but what if you flip a coin to decide
the cup of tea or coffee.
now what?
totally random, right? think it again.
coin-flips appear random only due to our lack of knowledge and data.
if we could know every elementary information, data, conditions and their exact values , forces
and properties for a particular coin flip, we could predict the result, even before the
outcome is revealed! infact, this is not so far fetched idea.
there already are coin-flipping robots that can flip coins and predict the outcomes that
are 100 percent accurate every time.
all of these facts & also the laws of physics say, the universe is deterministic.
but then there is the world of quantum mechanics, where you could never know where an electron
in a probability wave is.
or predict when a radioactive decay will take place.
the outcomes of this world can never be determined beforehand.
the only thing that can be determined, is their probability of being one outcome or
the other.
so, if everything is deterministic, and free-will is an illusion, then is punishing the criminals
really a valid act? because it would mean, they're punished for their crimes, even though
the action they did was destined to happen.
well.
all the crimes done by every criminal is completely deterministic, if given all the necessary
factors influencing the same.
but in-fact, punishing the guilty is necessary because if not done, it would influence others
to do more crimes.
hence increasing the criminal activity.
but, if free-will really exists, it leaves us with many unanswered questions.
like, is commiting suicide, a person's free-will? or : was creating our universe, god's free-will?

seems to be an idea, a meme, that is rising to the surface now.
People sense that the world's banking systems are at risk, and are thinking about alternatives.
Some people think that the boom in unoccupied, foreign-owned apartments in major cities worldwide
is driven by the same urge to own assets outside of banks' digital environment.
Jim Rickards – he worked at LTCM during their crisis in 1998 – has said that he
thinks things could go "Ice-9" sometime not too long from now.
It an obscure reference that means "everything freezes solid."
Spain's recent shotgun marriage of the failed Banco Popular ($195 billion in assets) with
Banco Santander, for a price of one euro, recalls Bear Stearns' Fed-directed sale
to JP Morgan in March 2008.
Everything was fine then too.
I find that gold and Bitcoin are actually somewhat complementary – that one's strengths
are the other's weaknesses, and vice versa.
This suggests that gold and Bitcoin together might have some role in our future.
Gold's strengths include its millennia-long history of serving as a stable store of value.
The gold coins that wealthy Roman families buried under their homes, during the collapse
of the Roman Empire, are still valuable today, and arguably, still worth about as much now
as they were then.
This stability also allows gold to be used as a standard of value for pricing and long-term
contracts, such as loans or employment agreements.
Also, there is a lot of it: about $7 trillion worth of gold in the world, compared to $33
billion of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is still digital vapor, even if it is independent of banks' own digital vapor
systems (when was the last time you held a paper share certificate?).
A world in which banking systems go down is certainly one in which cellphone and internet
systems can go down.
Gold is indestructible.
Gold is also anonymous, in a way that no digital currency could ever be, even if it tries.
Gold is relatively easy to transport and trade.
A gold kilobar easily fits in the pocket, and is worth about $40,000.
However, we want something easier to transact in than that.
One popular use of Bitcoin has been for long-distance transactions, such as remittances from immigrant
workers back to their families at home in other countries.
In the past, this required services like Western Union, which charged big fees.
Also, Bitcoin can be subdivided almost indefinitely, and works well for small transactions.
The smallest tenth-ounce – about 3.1 gram – gold coin is still worth about $120.
Bitcoin might soar multiples higher in value – who knows?
– but we know that it is not a reliable store or standard of value.
It has no history of stability at all.
Because of this, we can't use it effectively as a basis for pricing, or for long-term contracts.
Thus, I can see a situation where gold can be used somewhat like a "savings account,"
and Bitcoin as a "checking account."
You would keep a Bitcoin balance for transactions, but maybe not a large amount.
Bitcoin could be sold for gold, or gold for Bitcoin, as the need arose, to replenish your
transaction account or transfer value to long-term assets.
Prices and contracts might be denominated in gold, but payment made in Bitcoin at the
daily market rate.
This is already common for goods and services denominated in dollars, but where Bitcoin
is accepted in payment.
This model is actually not much different from similar arrangements we have seen worldwide.
People in Turkey, like many such places with a history of unreliable currencies, might
use euro-denominated assets as a store of value, and also have prices denominated in
euros.
However, actual transactions can be made in Turkish lira.
A thousand years ago – also in the present-day location of Turkey – the Byzantine Empire
had a system that was based on a highly-reliable gold coin, the solidus, which did not change
in value for over seven centuries.
However, especially during the fourth century, most commerce was conducted with a variety
of junky copper coins, whose market value against the solidus was quoted daily.
China has had a long history of using gold and silver ingots for large transactions,
by measured weight, and copper coins for smaller.
We can even go back to the earliest days of Sumer, in Mesopotamia around 2400 B.C., and
we find prices quoted in silver, but payment accepted in a range of commodities, at their
market value vs. silver.
I think it would be better to have a consolidated system based on gold, with a Bitcoin-like
option for small electronic transactions.
GoldMoney offers a service like this.
But, for whatever reason--including the money-laundering inquiries, lack of anonymity and tax consequences
of transactions in gold via an electronic platform--people seem to like Bitcoin.
One interesting consequence is that no central banks seem to be involved.
That might be nice.

sentences: One is right and one is wrong.
You have to decide which one is
correct. You can pause the video, you
can do whatever, but just read the
sentences and think about it and then I
will give you the answer...and we will
talk about it after the slide.
Okay, so hopefully you nailed it,
you've mastered it, but if not -- if you got
it wrong, or if you just happened to guess
correctly without knowing the reason for
getting it right -- then you should study
these. To start you on that path I've
given you three sentences. You should
memorize these whole sentences, you
should review them, you should drill it
into your head and then you should put
into practice by speaking or writing
what you've learned.

Portuguese Speakers' where every week I
talk about one common English mistake
made by those who speak Portuguese as a
mother tongue...and this is the 36th video,

you know exactly what I'm going to say,
and I really do mean it. I totally
admire that you are working to improve
your English, and I hope that you keep it
up. I hope you use these videos to
help you. I think they are helpful if you
follow the tips. In these videos, I show
you a slide, and on the slide there are
two sentences: One is the correct way a
native English speaker would say it, the
other is the wrong way a native
Portuguese speaker might say it, and you
need to decide which one is correct.
Why don't you do that now? Read the
sentences, listen to me read the
sentences, pause the video, think about
your answer and I will talk about the
answer in the slide that follows this
next slide.
If you got it
wrong, or you took a wild guess and you
just happened to get it right -- it's really
not a big deal. It just means you have to
study a little bit to get past it.

for the mistake as I discussed it in the
last slide...and hopefully you will study

slide..and hopefully you will study them in
their entirety, hopefully you will review

today's world to try to improve your

videos are helping you in your goal to
master English. Anyways, in these videos I

English. Your task is to decide which
one is correct. Do that now. Read the
sentences, listen to me read the
sentences, pause the video, think about

Yeah, hopefully you got it. Hopefully it wasn't
much of a struggle for you, and you know
why it's correct. If not, hopefully
now you know why you got it wrong. It
also means -- if you got it wrong or if you
took a wild guess and happened to get it
right -- that you have to start studying
more this structure. To start you on
that path -- it's a very simple beginning, I
know (but you can use the many resources
outside of this video) -- I've given you
three sentences to study from. Memorize
these sentences, drill them into your
brain through repetition and put into
practice what you've learned through
speaking or writing or both. Just
keep going through that cycle and
eventually you'll get it.
