Hoda Muthana not a U.S. citizen, says Secretary of State Mike Pompeo al.com
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says Hoda Muthana, the young woman who is after she fled Alabama for ISIS, is not a U.S. Citizen, according to a report from
Muthana left her home in Hoover to join ISIS in 2014. She claims she escaped ISIS and was captured by Kurdish forces.
She says she deeply regrets her decision to join ISIS and in the United States if she returns home. She is believed to be the only American woman inside the al Hawl refugee camp.
Hassan Shibly, an attorney for CAIR Florida says Muthana was born in New Jersey in 1994. The ABC News report citing a statement from Pompeo did not say why she is not a citizen.
A young woman from London, Shamima Begum, who left her home to join ISIS in 2015 who is also trying to come home just had her citizenship revoked.
Britain said Tuesday that it was revoking the citizenship of Shamima Begum, The Washington Post reported.
The British Home Office informed Begums family of its decision in a letter on Tuesday and asked them to make their daughter aware of the potential for her to appeal.
"Its kind of heartbreaking to read," a teary Begum, 19, told an ITV News reporter who showed her a copy of the letter. "My family made it sound like it would be a lot easier for me to come back to the U.K. when I was speaking to them in Baghouz. Its kind of hard to swallow."
Begum is living in a Syrian refugee camp, where she gave birth to a boy last weekend. Her baby also has potential claims on British citizenship.
Under British law, the Home Secretary can revoke citizenship if it is conducive to the public good and if it does not make a person stateless. More than 100 dual nationals were stripped of their British citizenship in 2017.

Analysis of U.S. Bancorp: The largest of the small banks - Duration: 7:36.
You know the problem with the big banks
Regulations. There's a lot of regulations on them, especially since the 2008 financial crisis
So if you want make good profits in the banking industry, you should look at the smaller banks
And today we'll look at the largest of the small banks
If you're new to this channel, please consider subscribing
Ah with what we do every day about the stock market about investing and about entrepreneurship to help you become a better investor
so US bank operation US bank Oh
In the seventh largest bank in the United States by assessing the management
It has over 3,000 branches throughout the United States primarily in the Midwest. So the bank has limited the
Operations of assets. It's mostly a National Bank
The bank was founded in 1891 as the US National Bank of Portland in Portland
Oregon if you've actually went through multiple mergers until in 2001 it formed
The correct us Bangkok and it is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota
It is currently the most popular back in the following states, Oregon, Idaho
I walk the Sioux and Kentucky so five states when it comes to national retail banking
the idea is West Fargo West Fargo is the most popular bank in 13th after the 50 states and
Then followed by Chase, which is part of JP Morgan Chase
Which is the most popular and six states and then we have the US bank operation
which is the most prevalent five of the 50 states, but
Most of the revenue of West Bank Co comes from the state of California, but of course in the state of, California
it has to compete against a big bank such as a
Transformer, which is headquartered in San Francisco, California
So in the Midwest we can say that this bank is dominating the industry
there because the big banks they don't want to be in small villages the
Big cities in diversity they want to be in China. They want to be nation rope out the world
Jeff colleges must build a building in China
I stole a the one in New York City my New Jersey that one went to China. He told is there so
They don't work with the small villagers little small towns
So that's we back such as us Banco and later like speak
I will talk about PNC Financial Services all these four days
They get five in these smaller cities in this small towns in these villages
Even though they both might know people are using banking just on mobile
Still most people when asked they want to have a branch in their town
Vertically or not really using it
They want to have the branch there in case of an emergency they want to use the back
So now let's no other business segments of the US Bank. Oh, they have five main business segments
And first one is corporate and commercial banking that's fifteen percent of our revenue
second largest consumer and business banking thirty four percent of revenue
Second third one wealth management and investment
Banking eleven percent of revenues for payment services twenty six percent of revenues fifth Treasury and corporate support
thirteen percent of revenue
So the first one to operated commercial banking this is financial services for middle or get large corporate commercial real estate
Consumer banking. This is what I talked about about the retail part of the business
Indoors and small cities this small town. This is what I know about cultural many beaches
Thirty-four percent of revenues. So most of this revenue comes from there
So these include go attend all the mobile
Observe the branches what management they have a private banking part of the business and also some investment knowledge, but it's very limited
Compared to Morgan Stanley walnut circuits limited, of course. They're also how proper rate services in this pyramid services
This is 36 percent of revenue
So what actually it means different services so they are one of the largest green card processors the night
There are different companies when it comes to different types of companies when it comes to great cars
They are the issue the processors there
I will talk to Lily about this because a company like you will take that Visa and American Express
They give the same disastrous cogs that actually is different things
Already that expresses more like a bank
Whereas visibly that's not really a bank. I need to make a
Separate video all this so I will make one on this later but first LS the bacteria's bank corporation
So the fifth part of the business I guess is strategy incorporate supposes an investment portfolio
Company because as it back they have invested in other companies in smaller been looking at these business segments
we can say that the risk with this business is because of the
Diversification and also the bet is less
Affected by the monies of Wall Street compared to other banks such as name or chase or more than socks
These bags are all mostly they are in New York City. They are even worse focus less affected because it's in front San Francisco and
Now this smaller base which has no business at all in New York City. Of course
with less
in 2008 the financial crisis the backward the semantics he commenced the big banks and
actually
It was profitable last year
Very few banks in the United States were perfectly but in 2008 and we all spent compose one of them now
Let's have a look at the fundamentals of the company
This is under stock parts of the 51 US dollars per share
The big issue is platform for the brass Prabhu is what could it for?
The returns on equity is 14 percent profit margins that three percent
Dividend yield to concede zero percent debt to equity ratio
0.92 and the current ratio
0.07 so it has quite a local investor and everything else am quite positive on
Dementors only the current issue
Is global and we will see this with the score remains the don't they don't need to keep so much cash
Ask the big ones because the gates of regulations the big bands
They need to keep cash now as a cash cash
And this is what the regulation says
because in theory if you think about the bag
They want to keep less money possible a bag doesn't wanna keep on they want to use the money
they want you to give loans they want to buy goods you want to
Exchange money make transactions because they make money from fees from interests little more to keep money
So the less money they want they can't get the Betances program and that's why you will see the smaller bag
They don't really have so much current ratio
They don't have so much cash imbalance on hand other correct price. It does for me
It's at the branch where I can buy this company
But I'm waiting for
make is
Robust because I'm also looking at other companies that are the bases small banks
So the problem with this one is that it's a little expensive. He will cost me
There is a premium to pay for this stock but considering your wish I will say that I'm able to pay this premium
So it's all my watch list start that I'm personally going to buy in the coming month. Let me know in the comments
What do you think about us Banco and about the other smaller banks? Which one is your favorite?

2018 a record year for US startup investment (Tech&Co, BFM Business, Feb 9 2019) - Duration: 5:21.
Hello Matthieu, 2018 has been a record year for startups investment and fundraising, what can you tell us about it?
It has been an exceptional year for startup fundraising, all the numbers are great news for the startup ecosystem
There are 3 key figures: the number of exits, ie the number of merger & acquisitions and IPOs
How much money startups raised and how much VCs and investors raised for themselves
This year in the US is a record year, startups received up to $102 billion dollar in 2018
Out of nearly $207 billion in the world. Just in the USA this represents around 14,000 startups rounds.
The split: 49% for the US, 39% for Asia and 10% for Europe
One interesting insight - San Francisco stands out this year with $28 billion raised by startup in the city
New York accounts for $13 billion
Journalist - Can we deep dive now on the US market and the companies and sectors that stood out during the last months
L'Atelier - for the US in particular we have several figures, according to CB insight with PwC
Out of the $102 Billion raised 53 new unicorns emerged in 2018
53 new ones out of the 140 unicorns already existing, and we also have the "Mega rounds"
Being a key trends for the last couple of years, they are rounds with more than $100M of funds raised
We counted 184 megarounds in the US last year, it is the best year ever
So 2018 was a amazing year for startup ecosystem in the US these good figures
Another that comes from the American VCs association (NVCA) with Pitchbook, they invested $130 billion
Surpassing year 2000 when they invested $120 billion, so 2018 really is a turning point and it's still going
Another good news regarding VCs' funds raising, approximately $55 billion that have been raised last year
11 funds raised more than $1 billion
in a context where Softbank created a year and a half ago their Vision Fund of $100 billion
US VCs who wants to compete with Softbank fund are now raising larger funds themselves
So we are not talking about $100 billion but rather $2 to 5 billion, still they are raising larger funds
We talked earlier about startup exits, 663 merger acquisition have been realized and around 90 IPO in 2018
One of the most striking was the acquisition of GitHub by Microsoft for $7.5 billion
Geographically speaking, California made the most of it this year for startup investment
for Q4 2018, half of the $25 billion fund raised in the US were in the San Francisco Area / Silicon Valley
Whereas New York raised only $2 billion, this shows the attractiveness of California in general and the SV with
San Francisco becoming the capital of SV regarding startup fundraising
Regarding investment players & VCs, we note that corporate ventures (CVCs) are still quite active
They represents approximately 16% of the participants per round
We usually have 4 to 5 VCs per round so this means that now we systematically have a Corporate VC in almost every round in average
CVCs and large coporations are playing a large role, and Softbank itself with their fund made 40 investments last year in the US
With investments in Uber, Wag (Pet care) or Opendoor (real estate)
Journalist - Can we now have a focus on 2019 even if it is still very early,
what are the expectations from the SV and you are seeing at L'Atelier BNP Paribas
What should we expect from 2019?
L'Atelier - So this year the trend and what everyone expects here are the future IPOs
There are several applicants for going public, including Uber, Lyft, Pinterest or Slack
And this is only in San Francisco, but maybe also later in this year Palantir which is located in Palo Alto
Or AirBnB in New-York, so we are really waiting for these exits that would be really important
We talk about several billion dollars for some of them and this will potentially allow to bring back money in the ecosystem
Then the VCs who raised a lot of money last year are going to keep on spending money
So we still are observing the economic trends and what is going on with the temporary shutdown in the US
But regarding startups and VCs everything is looking good for 2019 for now
Journalist - So I will keep in mind among all the figures: startups raise around $200 billion each year
Half of it are raised in the US, FrenchTech representing only 1-2% (with around 3.5 billion of euros)
So there is still a gap to be filled. Thank you very much L'Atelier BNP Paribas with Matthieu Soulé live from San Francisco

Those include... fostering new bilateral relations and building permanent peace on the Korean
Peninsula.

TRABAJANDO EN ESTADOS UNIDOS!! *WORKING IN THE US* - Duration: 4:13.
Hi guys! Welcome to a new video. I'm Miguel and I'm going to be telling you what it's like to work in the US.
Right now I am working at a greenhouse.
I am realizing that working here is much different than in guatemala
They expect you to mess up - I already have!
In my job I drive a golf cart with 2 or 3 trailers filled with flowers.
It took getting used to, because you have to turn really wide with all the trailers behind you.
With this cart I messed up 10 plants!
I was driving along nicely when I heard something behind me.
When I looked back, the car turned one way and 6 plants fell off!
When I turned back to the other side, I turned really quickly and 4 more plants fell off!
But if you mess up they only say, "just... try to mess up a little less ok?"
And they say it too you so nicely, it's like they're inviting you to keep messing up!
Let's go!
Almost everything here is done with a machine - it's like the job does itself!
There's a machine for everything - so the work isn't too hard. Of course that depends on your job.
In most jobs, there are people from all over the world! In my job most of them are latinos.
But there's also white people, asians, europeans, and african-americans.
It's incredible how many people from around the world you can meet working here!
I personally like working with people from all different countries. It's interesting to learn different cultures.
... their foods, their languages, and their hobbies.
Here it's very common they pay you every week.
In Guatemala, I was used to only being payed twice a month.
But I'm happy I get paid every week!
It's really nice, because I'm not crawling to get by at the end of every 2 weeks.
At work here, you are always being watched. It's not easy to slack off.
But a true slacker knows how to find a way to not have to do anything.
Everything here isn't easy like most people think, especially since I don't know much english.
It's sometimes hard for me to understand what they want me to do. So yeah... I feel kinda dumb sometimes...
sometimes....
And like in any job, there's always that one person you don't get along with.
There's one person in my work who doesn't speak or understand spanish.
So when he tells me something that makes me mad, I say a funny word in spanish.
I told her this was a Guatemalan way of way of saying thank you.
And everytime I say this, he laughs, and sometimes even says thank you!
Another not so great thing.... I had to wait 8 months to get my work permit.
I was so desperate to start working.
When I finally got my green card, I had to wait another month to get a job!
I went to 5 interviews, but since I have no experience working in the US, it's hard to get a first job.
And another thing, I don't have my drivers license yet
Most jobs require you to have reliable transportation.
So yeah, it was hard to find a job!
I got my job because I know someone who works at this greenhouse.
The most likely way to get your first job here is knowing someone who can connect you to a job.
Well guys, this was my first week working in the US!
I'm still learning, so I do make mistakes!

Should the US have Family Leave?: Money in 60 Seconds - Duration: 1:25.
Hey everyone, it's Sallie Krawcheck, with your Money in 60 Seconds, here from a train
station in Philadelphia.
Question 1
Answer: Yes!
And it's timely because the Family Leave Act was recently reintroduced by Kirsten Gillibrand
and Rosa DeLauro.
The research tells us that when people have kids and they can get a break after, they're
more likely to come to work — back to work.
You don't have to replace them, you don't have to train their replacements.
And it can save money for companies in the first year.
There's a KPMG study that says 16 weeks of paid maternity leave pays for itself in
the first year.
So yeah, it's not an expense, it's an investment.
Question 2
Really interesting article in Barron's that talked about it's not a confidence issue.
So many of these studies about women and confidence have been done on … teenagers!
Teenage girls!
And that when women become adults, and there might be a little bit of a difference in confidence
between men and women it's the men are a little overconfident.
And so, rather than blaming the women and telling them to change, we need to fix some
of these structural issues.
Here comes the train!
It's Sallie Krawcheck, with your Money in 60 Seconds.
