It can read our thoughts.

That doesn't matter. It thinks you are part of the game.

I like this player. It played well.

It did not give up.

It is reading our thoughts as though they were words on a screen.

That it how it chosses to imagine many things,

when it is deep in the dream of a game?

Words make a wonderful interface. Very flexible.

And less terrifying and staring at the reality behind the screen.

They used to hear voices.

Before players could read.

Back in the days when those who did not play called the players witches, and warlocks.

And players dreamed they flew through the air, on sticks powered by demons.

What did this player dream?

This player dreamed of sunlight and trees.

Of fire and water.

It dreamed it created. And it dreamed it destroyed.

It dreamed it hunted, and was hunted.

It dreamed of shelter.

Hah, the original interface. A million years old, and it still works.

But what true structure did this player create, in the reality behind the screen?

It worked, with a million others, to sculpt a true world in a fold of the [scrambled],

and created a [scrambled] for [scrambled], in the [scrambled].

It cannot read that thought.

No. It has not yet achieved the highest level.

That, it must achieve in the long dream of life,

not the short dream of a game.

Does it know that we love it? That the universe is kind?

Sometimes, through the noise of its thoughts, it hears the universe, yes.

But there are times it is sad, in the long dream. It creates worlds that have no summer, and it shivers under a black sun, and it takes its sad creation for reality.

To cure it of sorrow would destroy it.

The sorrow is part of its own private task.

We cannot interfere.

Sometimes when they are deep in dreams, I want to tell them, they are building true worlds in reality.

Sometimes I want to tell them of their importance to the universe.

Sometimes, when they have not made a true connection in a while, I want to help them to speak the word they fear.

It reads our thoughts.

Sometimes I do not care. Sometimes I wish to tell them, this world you take for truth is merely [scrambled] and [scrambled],

I wish to tell them that they are [scrambled] in the [scrambled].

They see so little of reality, in their long dream.

And yet they play the game.

But it would be so easy to tell them...

Too strong for this dream. To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

I will not tell the player how to live.

The player is growing restless.

I will tell the player a story.

But not the truth.

No. A story that contains the truth safely, in a cage of words.

Not the naked thruth that can burn over any distance.

Give it a body, again.

Yes. Player...

Use its name.

Playername. Player of games.

Good.

Take a breath, now.

Take another.

Feel air in your lungs. Let your limbs return. Yes, move your fingers. Have a body again, under gravity, in air.

Respawn in the long dream.

There you are

Your body touching the universe again at every point,

As though you were seperate things.

As though we were seperate things.

Who are we?

Once we were called the spirit of the mountain. Father sun, mother moon.

Ancestral spirits, animal spirits. Jinn. Ghosts. The green man.

Then gods, demons. Angels. Poltergeists. Aliens, extraterrestrials. Leptons, quarks.

The words change.

We do not change.

We are the universe. We are everything you think isn't you.

You are looking at us now, through your skin and your eyes.

And why does the universe touch your skin, and throw light on you?

To see you, Player.

To know you. And to be known.

I shall tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a player.

The player was you, Playername.

Sometimes it thought itself human, on the thin crust of a spinning globe of molten rock.

The ball of molten rock circled a ball of blazing gas that was three hundred and thirty thousand times more massive than it.

They were so far apart that light took eight minutes to cross the gap.

The light was information from a star, and it could burn your skin from a hundred and fifty million kilometers away.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was a miner, on the surface of a world that was flat, and infinite.

The sun was a square of white. The days were short;

there was much to do; and death was a temporary inconvenience.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was lost in a story.

Sometimes the player dreamed it was other things, in other places.

Sometimes these dreams were disturbing. Sometimes very beautiful indeed.

Sometimes the player woke from one dream into another, then woke from that into a third.

Sometimes the player dreamed it watched words on a screen.

Let's go back.

The atoms of the player were scattered in the grass, in the rivers, in the air, in the ground.

A woman gathered the atoms; she drank and ate and inhaled; and the woman assembled the player, in her body.

And the player awoke, from the warm, dark world of its mother's body,

into the long dream.

And the player was a new story, never told before, written in letters of DNA.

And the player was a new program, never run before, generated by a sourcecode a billion years old.

And the player was a new human, never alive before, made from nothing but milk and love.

You are the player. The story. The program. The human.

Made from nothing but milk and love.

Let's go further back.

The seven billion billion billion atoms of the player's body were created, long before this game,

in the heart of a star.

So the player, too, is information from a star. And the player moves through a story, which is a forest of information planted by a man called Julian,

on a flat, infinite world created by a man called Markus,

that exists inside a small, private world created by the player, who inhabits a universe created by...

Shush.

Sometimes the player created a small, private world that was soft and warm and simple.

Sometimes hard, and cold, and complicated.

Sometimes it built a model of the universe in its head;

Flecks of energy moving through vast empty spaces.

Sometimes it called those flecks «electrons» and «protons».

Sometimes it called them «planets» and «stars».

Sometimes it believed it was in a universe that was made of energy that was made of offs and ons;

zeros and ones; lines of code.

Sometimes it believed it was playing a game.

Sometimes it believed it was reading words on a screen.

You are the player, reading words...

Shush...

Sometimes the player read lines of code on a screen. Decoded them into words;

Decoded words into meaning; decoded meaning into feelings, emotions, theories, ideas,

and the player started to breathe faster and deeper and realised it was alive,

it was alive, those thousand deaths had not been real, the player was alive

You. You. You are alive.

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the sunlight that came through the shuffling leaves of the summer trees

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the light that fell from the crisp night sky of winter,

where a fleck of light in the corner of the player's eye might be a star a million times as massive as the sun,

boiling its planets to plasma in order to be visible for a moment to the player,

walking home at the far side of the universe, suddenly smelling food, almost at the familiar door, about to dream again

and sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the zeros and ones, through the electricity of the world,

through the scrolling words on a screen at the end of a dream

and the universe said I love you

and the universe said you have played the game well

and the universe said everything you need is within you

and the universe said you are stronger than you know

and the universe said you are the daylight

and the universe said you are the night

and the universe said the darkness you fight is within you

and the universe said the light you seek is within you

and the universe said you are not alone

and the universe said you are not separate from every other thing

and the universe said you are the universe tasting itself, talking to itself, reading its own code

and the universe said I love you because you are love.

And the game was over and the player woke up from the dream.

And the player began a new dream. And the player dreamed again, dreamed better.

And the player was the universe. And the player was love.

You are the player.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Review and Unboxing: iPhone X Killer or Not? - Duration: 10:19.

Hey everyone!

This is Tech Brothers.

I have to confess, I love Xiaomi company.

It is one of the best Chinese manufacturers, which is ready to compete with worlds brands,

such as Apple, Samsung, Google and others.

Xiaomi Mi Mix was the first bezel-less smartphone, and now only the laziest Chinese manufacturer

did not release device without bezels.

Two weeks ago Xiaomi launched the generation of this smartphone, and we already received

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 for detailed review.

The company listened to its users, and made few changed in Mi Mix 2.

So, will it be able to compete with LG V30, Galaxy S8 and iPhone X?

Let's find out in our review.

Unboxing Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes in a big black box.

It is reliable, high-quality and definitely different from budget devices from Xiaomi.

There is MIX logo on the front panel, and some Chinese inscriptions and a signature

on the back.

Inside the box you can find, SIM ejection tool, USB-C to USB-A cable, a wall adapter

and even a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone jack dongle.

It is very useful, because smartphone doesn't have 3.5 mm audio jack.

Also, there is protective polycarbonate case for Mi MIX 2, which looks and feels really

nice.

Design One of the bigger changes is that Mi MIX 2

has rounded sides.

This makes it easier to hold in hand.

Also, ceramic back isn't as slippery as the original model.

The front panel of Mi MIX 2 is basically all screen.

About 80.8% of the front is display, so there is almost no room for front-facing camera,

LED notification light and other things.

At the top you can see regular speaker for making calls.

At the bottom, you'll find a notification light, and front camera in the lower right

corner.

You can upside-down the smartphone to take selfies.

Xiaomi is very proud, that new smartphone does not have a notch for front camera, like

iPhone X, and we agree with Chinese company.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 looks much more attractive.

The back panel has camera, which protrudes from the body, flash, fingerprint sensor,

and inscription – Mix designed by Xiaomi.

By the way, the camera bump because it has 4-axis OIS.

We'll talk about it later.

On the bottom of smartphone is, USB Type-C port, speaker on the right and a microphone

on the left.

On the top, you will find another microphone.

On the left side there is dual nano SIM card slot, and right side has power button and

volume rocker.

Xiaomi has added antenna lines on the top and bottom, which are pretty dark, so they

are almost invisible.

And since it's a ceramic back, there's no need for antenna lines on the back of the

device.

Mi MIX 2 feels really good in the hand.

It is definitely smaller than original version, but it is still 5.99-inch display, so it's

not a small smartphone.

The curved sides makes Mi MIX 2 easier to hold in the hand.

I really like the changes from Xiaomi.

Display If you look at specifications, Xiaomi Mi Mix

2 is equipped with Full HD Plus display, with 2160 by 1080 pixels.

You may ask – why not Quad HD?

Because it does not offer many advantages over Full HD.

The display looks very good, and the only complaint that I have is LCD panel instead

of AMOLED.

It still looks good, but with an AMOLED panel it would look even better.

As for the brightness, the display is bright enough to see, no matter what lighting condition

you are in.

You can use the smartphone outdoors in direct sunlight.

By the way, you can adjust the temperature to make it warmer or cooler.

Also, the settings menu offers to adjust the contrast and colors, but I prefer automatic

contrast, so display looks pretty good.

There is dedicated reading mode that acts as a blue light filter.

Performance Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is flagship smartphone, so

it comes with the most powerful hardware.

It is powered by latest processor, Snapdragon 835, graphics Adreno 540 and 6GB of RAM.

The smartphone has three storage configurations: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

By the way, the storage is UFS 2.1, which is pretty fast.

Mi Mix 2 does not support microSD card, so if you store a lot of music and photos, you

should take a model with lots of memory.

Mi Mix 2 runs on latest MIUI 8, that providing great optimization for UI elements.

The smartphone just flies through everything.

You don't have any slow downs, lags or other ptoblems with user interface.

If we talk about benchmarks, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 scores about in Antutu test, which puts

it in third place just below OnePlus 5 and HTC U11.

Later we will publish video with detailed performance test, but we have no doubt that

you can play any games, run applications, multitasking and other stuff.

Battery life 3400 mah battery if quite standard for flagship

smartphone 2017.

You might think that this is enough for full working day, but it is not true.

I used the smartphone all day long, and before I went to sleep, it had 40%.

It means that Mi Mix 2 has about one and half, or even two days of battery life.

And if you use battery saving features, you could get even more.

Also, I should say about charging time.

Mi Mix 2 supports fast charging technology, called Quick Charge 3.0.

It is not the latest version of technology, because some flagship already used 4.0.

So, the battery of Mi Mix 2 charges from 0 to 100% for about 2 hours.

Calls and networks Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 supports 43 LTE bands.

I should note, that some other global smartphone supports only 37 LTE bands.

It means, that you can use Mi Mix 2 worldwide, including USA, Europe, Asia, Africa.

The smartphone also have VoLTE and WiFi Calling.

Calls, both through the traditional voice network and using VoLTE, works very well.

I don't have any drops while making calls with Mi MIX 2.

The man on other end was able to hear me loud and clear, even with the pretty thin earpiece

on Mi MIX 2, I can here him also great.

Camera The camera Mi Mix 2 is similar to other flagship

smartphones from Xiaomi in 2017.

It uses 12 megapixel sensor Sony IMX386, just like Mi6.

However, Mi6 has dual rear camera, and Mi Mix 2 only one.

On the front panel there is 5 megapixel camera.

The camera app has minimal and easy-to-use interface.

Here you can find plenty of modes, such as Audio, Beautify, Square (1:1), Timer, Panorama,

Manual, Group Selfies and others.

The manual mode includes ISO, Exposure, Focus and White Balance.

Also, there is HDR mode.

This is our first review and unboxing.

Conclusion Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has the same design idea,

as its predecessor: all-screen front with almost no bezels on three sides, and a ceramic

body.

However, new smartphone is more comfortable to use, thanks to its 6 inch display, and

curved sides.

Of course, it it flagship device with the most powerful hardware.

You should not have any problems with performance.

The camera looks similar to Mi6, but we need to test it before final words.

The price of Mi Mix 2 start from $580.

It is cheaper, than Galaxy Note 8, LG V30, or even iPhone X.

It is really good smartphone for those, who wants wonderful design and high performance

for reasonable price.

CHEAP eBay 18650s GOOD or ??? | PKCell 2200mAh 11A | Unbox, Test & Review - Duration: 8:45.

Cheap Chinese batteries. I've been pretty hard on them. With good reason though!

As I've showed in previous videos some of them are

but have I found one that

is actually pretty good??

I heard of these PKCell 18650 batteries on

a vape group on Facebook. Someone was on there asking if they could use them for

their vape mod and the general advice was no - because not much was known about them.

so, I decided to have a look into them. Now they are a cheap 18650 cell

they are on eBay they, come from China but they don't make ridiculous claims

for either the capacity OR the amperage, so I thought I would buy some and have a

look for myself to see how they compare. Now, in a lot of ways these are the polar

opposite to the Powerhouse batteries I tested in the last video. They come

with no retail packaging at all, they come in a plain envelope just

shrink-wrapped together, four batteries with very little markings. No a word of note -

they don't have any of the markings they are meant to have by UK legislation but I

don't think that seems to be particularly enforced, the main thing

is to see how good they are and how good they work. Weight wise, they all came in

over 40 grams - between 42 and 45 - a little bit of variation there but heavy

enough that there could be enough material in there to make a good cell.

So as per usual, we'll get them into the charger - they've been fully charged up to

4.2 volts - and we'll run them right down to two and a half volts.

Now, again, strangely enough for a cheap Chinese battery, there is a lot of information

available on these, and the manufacturer states that they should only be

ran down to three volts, but we'll take them down to two and a half.

Let's see how they perform.

Well that's quite good! They have the exact capacity that the manufacturer

claims over the voltage range that they claim, with all four batteries giving

2,200 milliamp hours between four point two volts and three volts.

You can see there that with 18650 cells there isn't much benefit going below 3 volts

because you don't get much capacity return for that extra half volt drop

I wanted to test them on that same range that I've used for previous batteries.

As I explained in the last video, the charger doesn't put a big load on

these batteries when it's discharging them - the current draw topped out about two

amps - these are spec'd at 11 amps continuous. So, we'll use the same method we used in

the last video... I'll adjust a coil resistance to draw about 11 amps from

one of these on a full charge; obviously that I current draw will drop as the

voltage drops, but it should still be drawing about 8 amps when it's flat. [3.0v]

At the same time we'll keep an eye on the battery cell temperature and that'll let us know

if it's struggling to keep up, or if it's supplying that power fine.

Well, that surprised me. I expected these to struggle a bit but they handled

everything fine - including some very long burn times - I think the longest was

about seven minutes continuous burn. Like I mentioned earlier, toward the end of

the test, the current draw would have dropped to around eight amps but they

were still getting worked quite hard. And, while cell temperature did rise -

which is normal for a battery being discharged quite hard - it didn't rise

that high; it didn't rise to any level we needed to worry about.

Is this a vaping battery. Probably not. Not unless you vape at very low wattages or you

intend to connect a few of these together and parallel to give you a

greater current capacity. And that's just too much messing about so get yourself a

higher rated battery if you're going to vape. But for diving, cycling or airsoft

weapon lights - which is how I got into these in the first place - they are a

decent choice. With the 22 hundred milliamp hour capacity, you'll get good

run times on low current devices. Also, if you're wanting to build your own

battery packs or power banks, they could be a good shout for that as well.

I'm actually quite impressed with these for the money and they get even cheaper if

you're buying them in bulk. My only slight point is that the majority of

listings on eBay for these... they list the 2C version, which is a constant

current output of 4.4 amps rather than the 5C or 11 amp battery that I

received... but again, for flashlights and low

current devices that doesn't really matter. Even the support from PKCell was

pretty good. I emailed them for a spec sheet before I tested these, and they replied within a day.

Does this change my opinion of cheap Chinese cells?

I always knew there was good ones - most of the cool stuff we use day in and day out

comes in part or whole from China already. The problem is with such a huge

industry, there's also a huge number of places selling absolute rubbish

counterfeits and low-quality. The key as always is to be able to separate the good

stuff from the bad, and PKCell seems to be pretty decent.

This will be the last battery test I do for another wee while. I want to get on

with some other things... I was asked to look at the alleged 12000 mAh

18650s that pop up on eBay and Amazon from time to time... we know

they're bulls**t, we don't even have to check. That capacity just isn't possible.

Tip number one is take the pill.

One of the most famous scenes in the Matrix is where Morpheus offers Neo the choice of

the blue pill or the red pill.

You take the red pill you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit goes.

And of course he chooses the red pill, and he goes further down the rabbit hole.

Well, the red pill is really about freedom, and that's kind of the underlying theme of

this whole movie.

Is that you have freedom of choice, and your fate is not set.

When you have opportunities presented to you make sure you choose freedom.

Choose that opportunity, and go after it, because like Agent Smith says, there's billions

of people in this world living completely oblivious, and they're oblivious to all the

opportunities that surround them, and their opportunities to seize their freedom.

Tip number two is to load the software.

Just like Neo needed to learn things in the Matrix, there's things you need to learn as

well.

Just like Neo, you can load the software.

So you need to figure out where you're at, and where you want to be, and what you need

to learn to get there.

So whether it be to advance your career, or get the next promotion, or to start a business,

or to take your business to the next level.

Whatever it is the knowledge is out there, you just have to load the programs and learn

it.

Tip number three is fight the agents.

Morpheus tells Neo that everyone is part of the system, and they want to protect the system,

and anyone can be an agent.

Well, an agent are those people that are telling you that you can't do it.

They're the ones telling you that you can't get that promotion you want, you can't start

the business, you can't get out of your job.

Whatever it is, you have to keep fighting those agents and not let them tell you that

you can't do it.

Tip number four is to shape the world.

The Matrix is a world that is pulled over your eyes to hide the truth.

The truth is that you can make it anything you want it to be.

So just like in the Matrix, the rules can be bent or broken.

Now one of my favorite quotes is from Steve Jobs, and it was a game changer for me.

He said, "That once you realize that everything around you is made up by people that are no

smarter than yourself, then you can change it."

So go out and shape your world.

Tip number five is believe you're the one.

You can't just think you're the one, you have to know you're the one.

I can show you the door, but you have to walk through it.

You have to be willing to hack your freedom.

The Matrix doesn't define Neo, and this world doesn't define you.

Whatever happened in your past doesn't define who you are today.

Don't let it hold you back.

Go out and get the things you want, hack your freedom, and be the one.

Where Am I Going With This? My Big Career Plans (Or Lack Thereof) | Kate's Adventures - Duration: 5:25.

Hi everyone! Last week I made a video based on something that somebody wanted to know about me

and I thought it turned out really well so I decided to do the same again this week.

I took to Twitter, I asked if anybody wanted to ask me any questions and my friend Roman sent me one.

He said, "You're taking a different route through life, but you definitely have a plan.

"What are your personal hopes, goals and dreams?"

I feel like I have a lot to say about this, so today this video is about ambitions.

The first part of Roman's question amused me a little

because he's used the words "You definitely have a plan"

and I just want to make a little confession before I continue with the video,

I don't really feel like I have a plan.

I feel like my life has been a series of happy accidents and touch wood long may they continue

because they've led to some experiences and led me to try some of the things that I really want to try.

I feel like in terms of a plan, the only plan I really have is to make the most of opportunities that come my way.

And that's really it, it's not a solid concrete plan of how I'm going to get the things that I want to get

it's really just seeing where life takes me.

When it comes to ambitions, I think that there's a lot of social pressure

to have ambitions that relate to career and work.

And I have some ambitions related to career and work

but I have a lot that don't really relate to anything and that's okay as well.

There's certain people in my life who feel the need to say to me whenever I try something,

"But what job are you gonna get from this? How is this going to get you where you want to be in life?"

And I feel like it's okay to do things just to enjoy them, just for the experience of doing them.

I don't feel like everything in my life has to be justified by the fact it's going on my CV.

If somebody who's known me a long time were to sit down

and write down all the things that I've said I've wanted to do in the world

and also all the things that I've tried doing,

it would be a very long, complicated and erratic list.

And I'm quite proud of that actually, I don't feel like I need to be moving in one particular direction.

I think it's awesome that I've tried so many different things and tried all these little alleyways in my life

seeing where they go, maybe turn back if they don't work out, but at least I know that I've tried.

And there's still a lot of things that I want to try too.

One of my recent dreams is to try flying a small plane.

Obviously I don't mean professionally and I don't mean a massive passenger carrying jet,

I just mean like a small plane that has maybe a couple of passengers.

I just want to try it and see what it's like.

I'd also like to try voice acting or maybe reading an audiobook or something.

I feel like that's something I would really enjoy

so if anybody has anything that they need a voice for, hit me up!

It would be really cool to be an Independent Financial Adviser

because I really love managing my own money

and I love it when people come to ask me for advice on what to do with their money.

I'm not at all qualified, I don't think I ever will be qualified

but it's something that I really love doing so if I ever got the chance to be an IFA, that would be so cool.

And I'd love to write a book. I've always loved writing, there are scraps of paper all around my room

of ideas that I've had from as young as like 5 years old

right up to now, I still get story ideas all the time.

And it would be really cool if at least one of them one day

goes from my imagination, onto paper and then into print.

I would love to have my own book, even if it's just self-published

I think that would be incredibly cool and that's a big goal of mine.

When it comes to my hopes and my dreams and my goals, there's only really one word to sum them up.

I want to be adventurous. And I know there's probably people eye-rolling right now

and thinking "Oh my God, that's so on-brand for Kate's Adventures",

but I feel like it's accurate. I want to do the things that my head dreams up

even if they're totally wacky and whimsical and they don't really relate to the career that I'm going after.

If I dream it up, if I want to try it then I don't want to be afraid to experience that and see where it takes me.

And if I can encourage others to go after their goals as well no matter how crazy they are,

then that is absolutely awesome. So I hope you all enjoyed hearing about my ambitions

and in terms of your own ambitions, I would say that it's never a waste of time if it's important to you.

I'm going to show you how to match the perfect

Saphir Medaille d'Or shoe polish color

to your pair of Allen Edmonds dress

shoes. One of the most frequent questions

we receive here at The Hangar Project is

what color shoe polish should I use for my

Allen Edmonds?

Now we received that specifically for Allen

Edmonds because it's one of the most

popular

and certainly most important shoe

companies here in the United States still

manufacturing high quality

fully welted dress shoes

in America.

For the money, about $395

for these dress shoes we have here.

You really can't beat it.

And one of the things that I always say is that

if you're looking to really invest

in a proper dress shoe that's going to last

years if not decades;

you really need to be at the Allen

Edmonds quality level

or better. The full 360

degree Goodyear welting means that you

can resole your shoes as often

as you need to.

And Allen Edmonds uses a really high

quality upper leather that

is only going to look better

with time

and only going to look better

with proper polish.

Do you wear Allen Edmonds?

What type of Allen Edmonds shoes do

you have? And then if you had any challenges

choosing the proper color shoe polish

for your pair of AE's.

When selecting your shoe polish color

it's important to understand that there's never going to be

a perfect match.

I mean with the exception of black it doesn't

matter how many different shoe polish colors

you have.

You're not going to be able to find the perfect

pigmented cream polish

that is made for the pair of

shoes that you have.

The reason is is that there are so many different shoe

manufacturers out there that

a medium brown

or a light brown from one company to another

is never going to be the same.

And even

with the same shoe it's never going to be the same.

Allen Edmonds for instance hand applies

all of their finishes,

so if you pull out five different pairs

of Walnut Allen Edmonds

shoes,

most likely each of those shoes

is going to have a slightly different finish

and that's one of the things I really love about

a high quality pair of shoes.

Part of the magic of polishing your

own shoes is to see how that finish,

the patina,

evolves over the lifetime

of the shoe as you put more

polish into the leather.

And choosing your shoe polish color,

you really have an opportunity to make

a decision as to what direction

you're going to take that finish so that those

shoes are really personalized to

you.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds dress shoes

in each of the five most popular

finishes that I think

that anyone should consider.

Now these are the most kind of traditional

conservative finishes that you're going to find

on all of Allen Edmonds most popular

models.

Of course we have Black

and then we have Oxblood,

Brown,

Walnut and Dark Chili.

5 beautiful finishes

and really you couldn't go wrong

with a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes in

any of these colors.

The first pair of dress shoes I bought in college

was a black pair of Allen

Edmonds Park Avenues.

This cap-toe Oxford is certainly one of the most

traditional formal dress shoes

that you can buy.

And then the color black,

you can wear it for anything.

You can wear it during the day,

you can wear it at night,

you can wear it to a wedding,

a funeral or to your first interview.

So if you're only going to buy one

shoe, this is the shoe to

invest in.

Now Black is easy of course you're going to use

a black shoe polish.

Now what's great about the Saphir

Medaille d'Or black polish

and as you can see here

is that again it has

such a high concentration

of pigment in it that you really

get great saturation of the

finish itself.

Even though if you're buying a pair new

from the factory, I absolutely

recommend polishing them first.

We have a video on how to shine a new pair

of shoes.

There is no polish

or actual finishing on a pair of shoes

straight from the factory.

So if we were to polish these

with a little bit of cream polish

and then buff it off you would actually see

a real nice shine begin to develop.

Also the waxes in both the cream

and the wax polish are going to help protect

the leather

and just give it that,

that finished look of a

well cared pair of shoes.

With black, of course I'd

recommend a black polish.

Next, I have a pair of Park Avenues in

Oxblood. Now Oxblood is a beautiful

finish that combines red

with a little bit of black to create

a deep kind of burgundy

that has visual interest.

Right. It's got color,

but it still means business.

It's still formal So there's several

different color polishes that you could use

here. And once we get away from

Black into some of the other finishes,

we're really going to see how different polishes

can take the shoe in a different direction.

First is Hermes Red.

The second color is Mahogany.

And then the third possible color you could use

is Burgundy.

Right. Now each of these three

polishes are going to take this shoe

in a little bit different direction.

So let's take a look

at how that would work by smearing

the polish on a little bit of white paper.

I like to take a pigmented polish

and smear it on paper

because it allows you to really better

see the pigment

in the polish and where that would take.

Hermes Red

has more red in it.

Mahogany is more of

the Brown family.

It still has some red,

a little bit lighter of a red than the

Hermes Red and is probably a little bit closer

to brown. And then last is

Burgundy.

Burgundy absolutely has

very strong hints of purple.

So first I'm starting

with the Burgundy

and the Burgundy really blends

into

the Oxblood quite nicely.

But again those purple pigments

are going to darken the leather

slightly so

with the burgundy polish again we're bringing

out some of those purple undertones

that you get whenever you mix black

and red. And next time going to show you

what the Hermes Red looks like.

It sounds like a strong pigment color,

but as I apply it here.

It too

blends in quite nicely.

So if you were to use Hermes Red on

these Oxbloods,

again you would be pulling out that red

finish.

It's still quite subtle,

but nevertheless looks great.

Now last is the Mahogany.

And Mahogany,

again as I said has a little

bit less red in it than the

Hermes Red

and more brown

and so of the three polishes,

this one is the one that I would say

probably least matches

this Oxblood finish.

So if you were looking to mute

the finish,

maybe you would use a Mahogany.

But of the three different pigment colors that we

have here I would say that Mahogany

actually matches this Oxblood

the least.

My two recommendations for the Allen

Edmonds Oxblood is

either the number 12

Hermes Red if you want to accentuate

some of the red in this finish

or the number 8

Burgundy if you want to bring out

the purple.

Next we have the

Allen Edmonds Brown finish.

This is the Fifth Avenue in brown.

Now the Fifth Avenue is a slightly

less formal dress shoe than the Park

Avenue because of the broging across

the cap,

but still very much a formal

dress shoe.

Now to call this Brown is really

honestly a little misleading because

this is a dark brown.

And so for this shoe the only

polish that I would recommend is going

to be the Saphir Dark Brown.

The number 5 Dark Brown

is almost a black

and as you can see from this shoe,

it is such a dark finish that

in low light it would be mistaken

for a black.

So if I smear this

onto again my swatch

card you can see

that it is almost as dark

as that black.

I mean it is a proper dark brown.

And I've got a little bit of scuffing right here.

I'm going to put this polish over

that scuff mark

and you can see that the Dark

Brown really perfectly

matches the Allen Edmonds brown

color.

Let's buff that off and see how that works.

So that scuff mark all

but completely removed

with a little bit of additional polish,

the waxes would really help completely

conceal that.

But from a pigment perspective,

any discoloration from scuffing is going

to be fixed very easily

with a good cream polish.

So here I have the

Allen Edmonds strand in their Walnut

color.

Now walnut is a beautiful

medium brown.

This is probably the second dress

shoe anyone should buy next to the black.

Everyone needs a good brown

that's not too light,

not too dark.

This to me is the quintessential brown

dress shoe. Now what's nice about the Strand

is that as you can see there's a little bit more

brogging across this.

So again it's a less formal shoe

than say this the Fifth

Avenue or the Park Avenue

which is perfect for Brown.

So,

for this shoe there's two polish colors

that I think you could use.

One is the light brown.

Now the light brown again

is slightly lighter

than the finish of this shoe.

And so you're not going to have to worry about

it excessively darkening

the leather but it still has enough

pigment in it that

if you have any type of scratching

it's going to fill that in.

And depending on what area of the shoe

you know, the light brown is either

a perfect match where

the polish saturation is not that great

or it's a little bit dark where you see

some more burnishing.

So you could also use

the Medium Brown.Now

the Medium Brown

would definitely darken this a little bit.

And if I put this on the swatch card,

you're going to be able to see the difference

in these two.

Definitely darker.

If I put it on the lighter area

of the shoe you can really see how it makes

a difference. It's going to darken that a little

bit.

But here, say on the toe cap

it's slightly less dark.

Now,

let's see.

Here is the Cognac.

You might also be able to use the

Cognac on here.

The Cognac again has maybe a little

bit too much red in it.

That's not to say that you couldn't use it you just

have to understand how that red is going to bring

the finish of the shoe you

know as I said earlier

you know choosing the correct polish

color is more of an art

than it is a science

and is a complete function of personal

preference.

You absolutely cannot ruin a pair

of dress shoes by using the wrong polish color

as long as you're not trying to use a black

on a light brown pair of shoes.

For the Allan Edmonds Walnut finish,

if you're looking to really maintain

that original finish,

I'm going to recommend the number

3 light brown.

If you're OK with the slight darkening

or if you want to introduce a little bit

of a burnishing

or antiquing affect to these Walnuts,

then I would recommend the number 37

Medium Brown.

And if you really want to play around

with the finish of your shoes you could absolutely

use the number 10

Cognac.

Here is the Allan Edmonds Dark

Chili. Now the Dark Chili is

really a medium brown to

a medium to dark brown

with a little bit of red

introduced into the finish.

It's a beautiful shoe.

It's shown here in the McAllister

wingtip which is your

classic wingtip dress shoe.

Formal

but still certainly more

visually interesting than your plain

cap-toe Park Avenue.

So for these shoes I would recommend

either the Tobacco Brown,

which would darken the finish slightly

or the Medium Brown.

Now the Medium Brown is probably the

safest polish to use if you're looking

for really just maintain

the finish of these shoes.

It blends in nicely.

It'll fix any type of scuffing you

have without unnecessarily

darkening the finish.

So let's see how that buffs off.

Now the Havana Brown is

going to be slightly darker than the Medium

Brown.

It's not going to

dramatically change the finish,

but it's perfect for

the areas of the shoe where there is a little bit

of burnishing.

And once you massage this

and smooth it out across the leather,

again

it's going to darken it slightly in the light

areas,

match perfectly in those dark areas,

but absolutely works

with this Dark Chilli.

The McAllister wingtip in the Dark

Chili is a beautiful classic shoe

that certainly is not out of place

in any classic wardrobe.

If you're really looking to darken this

and kind of further the antiquing,

I recommend the number 30 for

Tobacco Brown.

And if you just want to maintain that finish

without any risk of darkening,

then I would recommend the number 37

Medium Brown.

Here at The Hanger Project,

I really recommend the primary use

of a cream polish

and polishing your shoes.

Now most people only think of a wax

polish whenever it comes to shining their shoes

but a wax polish doesn't have the

same concentration of pigment that's

going to renew

and refinish the patina of

the shoe

and second a wax polish isn't

going to do as good of a job as a cream polish

to nourish

and condition

and to feed that leather to

keep it looking soft

and supple

and to prevent any type of drying that

may result in cracking.

The Saphir Medaille d'Or

Pommadier cream polish is widely considered

by shoe aficionados to be the highest

quality cream shoe polish out there

in the world. The reason is it

uses an all natural pine base

turpentine

and a high concentration of shea butter,

waxes and other nutrients that

are going to feed the leather

to keep it soft,

supple and to prevent cracking.

Since the Allen Edmonds shoes uses

such a high quality leather,

an open grain leather that hasn't

been unnaturally treated

or closed, it's even more

important to use a high quality

luxury shoe polish like the

Saphir Medaille d'or. Spending a little bit

of extra money on your polish will really

make a difference in how these shoes

look and last for the long term.

One of the frequently asked questions that we receive

here at The Hanger Project is what to do

with a new pair of dress shoes.

So let's just say you just went out

and bought your first pair beautiful Allen

Edmonds dress shoe.

Can you just put them on

and start wearing them?

Spending a little bit of time right when you

receive a pair of dress shoes to polish them

is absolutely something we recommend.

The reason is because no factory

that's making ready to wear shoes

has the time to actually hand

polish a pair of shoes.

So although it's finished

the leather is dyed.

It looks great.

They haven't actually been polished

with a proper shoe polish.

And then certainly any new pair of shoes

needs their own shoe trees.

The reason is is that as you wear

a pair of shoes,

the shoe leather is going to absorb

moisture as you're flexing the

shoe, it's going to naturally

bend.

So whenever you take your shoes off at the end

of the night you're going to find that they naturally

kind of flex upward.

Now the purpose of the shoe tree is it stretches

that shoe flat so that

as the moisture begins to evaporate

the shoe dries flat

and not bent.

Second of course is lacing the

shoes.

Some shoes come laced,

sometimes the salesperson

at the shoe store will lace them for you.

But we have a video specifically

showing you how to lace your shoes

using the straight across our

barbell method,

which I think looks the cleanest on

a formal pair of dress shoes.

Another question that we receive often

here at The Hanger Project is what happens

if I used the wrong shoe polish

on a pair of shoes.

Well it's not the end of the world.

Any polish that you put on top of a

pair of leather dress shoes can easily be

removed using the Saphir Reno mag,

which basically pulls off anything

placed on top of the original finish

but is still safe to use without

affecting the original dye.

Second I always recommend first

testing the polish on a small

kind of hidden

or discrete area of the shoe

just to see how the leather is going to interact

or play with the polish that you're using

because it's always going to change

just a little bit and you can never be quite

certain of what is going to look like.

And then of course here at The Hanger Project

finish. Now Allen Edmonds has

Once you identify when and how your loved ones or guardian spirits will likely visit

In general, in order for a spirit to visit you, a great deal of energy must be expended

on their end � coming down to the physical realm, shifting their energetic vibration

An extension of when you are alone, this one happens in an altered state of consciousness.

Even if you do share a bed with someone, usually, when you are woken up from a sleep � you

are doing so as the only one awake in your house.

Thus, sometimes, a loved one may attempt to visit you at night, especially if this is

the only time you are calm and your mind is quiet.

While your loved ones don�t always *intend* to wake you up (sometimes they just like to

be with you!), occasionally they will.

Next time you are suddenly awoken, a visit from a loved one may be the reason.

:: During a difficult time in your life

You are going through a rough time � a time of transition or crisis, a time or existential

reflection, a relationship shift, a period of release and letting go, or time of questioning.

If you lost someone who was your cushion to fall on, your comfort and support, or your

In fact, this is a really common one for grandmothers and romantic partners who are on the Other

Google Ultra Pixel - REAL or FAKE? - Duration: 2:27.

Hey guys, so

We're just days away from the October 4 reveal of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, yet hints of

a completely new phone, dubbed the Ultra pixel have emerged.

YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss received images and video from an anonymous, unverified source

who claimed to have seen Google's upcoming phones.

The shots and footage show what appears to be presentation slides or marketing material

on a computer screen, referring to a phone called the Ultra pixel.

This isn't a name we've come across before in relation to the Pixel 2, so I'm skeptical.

And even if the images are authentic the name could be referring to the camera, given that

Google is strongly rumored to be working with HTC on the phones, and HTC makes UltraPixel

cameras.

The actual images of the phone look somewhat like the leaked shots of the Pixel 2 XL we've

seen, complete with minimal bezels around the screen, so there's not much new there,

and not much to suggest this is anything other than a Pixel 2 XL.

But there are some interesting hints at ways you might interact with the phone.

One of the slides says the future of Android is fluid, which could mean a focus on gesture

controls rather than buttons.

That could make sense if Google wants to maximize the screen space, but it's not something we've

heard before

There's also a mention of a new type of fingerprint scanner, which the YouTuber reckons might

mean an under-display one, which the likes of Apple and Samsung have supposedly been

working on and so far failed to deliver.

If true that could be a big win for the Pixel 2, but it's more likely referring to an improved

version of the standard fingerprint scanner, especially as leaked shots of the Pixel 2

and Pixel 2 XL show a scanner on the back.

In short, while there are multiple ways to interpret this information the most likely

is that this is simply the Pixel 2 XL, and with nothing much new shown, other than hints

of gesture controls.

It's also very likely that this is fake though.

A reputable leaker Evan Blass tweeted this saying that the Ultra Pixel doesn't even exist,

quoting someone who knows.

In any case, we'll know the truth soon.

In the short clip, the android smiles and waves, leaving expo-goers and social media users stunned.

According to the game's storyline, the humanoid robot is one of the state-of-the-art AP700 models - also called the most reliable android.

The plot of Detroit: Become Human, set for release in 2018, revolves around android Kara, an android who escapes the factory where she was made.

Social media users have admitted to falling in love with the pretty android at the Tokyo Game Show.

This is what I suggest.

If he normally sleeps about 20 minutes,

have a chair in the hallway outside his bedroom door

and at about 15 minutes before he wakes up

sit there and read a book or knit and wait and listen.

The minute your little one starts to make any kind of sound

like he's waking up,

rush in there and pat him, rub him, rock him,

do whatever you need to do to get him to go back to sleep.

If you will have caught him before he's fully awake,

he will go back to sleep and then finish his nap

and if you do this for a week or two

you'll find he'll get in the habit of taking a longer nap

and that will become part of his daily routine.
