Google Ultra Pixel - REAL or FAKE? - Duration: 2:27.

Hey guys, so

We're just days away from the October 4 reveal of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, yet hints of

a completely new phone, dubbed the Ultra pixel have emerged.

YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss received images and video from an anonymous, unverified source

who claimed to have seen Google's upcoming phones.

The shots and footage show what appears to be presentation slides or marketing material

on a computer screen, referring to a phone called the Ultra pixel.

This isn't a name we've come across before in relation to the Pixel 2, so I'm skeptical.

And even if the images are authentic the name could be referring to the camera, given that

Google is strongly rumored to be working with HTC on the phones, and HTC makes UltraPixel

cameras.

The actual images of the phone look somewhat like the leaked shots of the Pixel 2 XL we've

seen, complete with minimal bezels around the screen, so there's not much new there,

and not much to suggest this is anything other than a Pixel 2 XL.

But there are some interesting hints at ways you might interact with the phone.

One of the slides says the future of Android is fluid, which could mean a focus on gesture

controls rather than buttons.

That could make sense if Google wants to maximize the screen space, but it's not something we've

heard before

There's also a mention of a new type of fingerprint scanner, which the YouTuber reckons might

mean an under-display one, which the likes of Apple and Samsung have supposedly been

working on and so far failed to deliver.

If true that could be a big win for the Pixel 2, but it's more likely referring to an improved

version of the standard fingerprint scanner, especially as leaked shots of the Pixel 2

and Pixel 2 XL show a scanner on the back.

In short, while there are multiple ways to interpret this information the most likely

is that this is simply the Pixel 2 XL, and with nothing much new shown, other than hints

of gesture controls.

It's also very likely that this is fake though.

A reputable leaker Evan Blass tweeted this saying that the Ultra Pixel doesn't even exist,

quoting someone who knows.

In any case, we'll know the truth soon.

This is the kind of stuff we look for, right?

Everybody's online, and they don't realize that

your first impression is everything.

Canvas - Using Google Slides to Make an Image Rotator - Duration: 2:20.

This video shows how too add an image rotator to a Canvas page using a Google Slides presentation.

In this example I have an image rotator I want to add to the custom home page of my

Canvas course.

The image is a slideshow in Google Drive with various images for my class and I would like

to include those images on the front page of the class so my students get an idea of

the time period that we're covering in the class.

From Google Slides I click on the File menu and I need to Publish to the web...

In the publish dialog I click on the Embed tab and I want to choose the options to Start

slideshow as soon as the player loads and of course to Restart the slideshow after the

last slide.

The auto-advance timing of course will depend on what I think is appropriate for my slides,

and for the Canvas window I have found an effective practice to use the small [Slide]

size.

Once I have chosen my embed options I click on the embed code and copy it.

Now I'm ready to go back into Canvas.

Once I have the embed code copied and ready to paste into the HTML view of a Canvas page,

I of course need to be in edit mode for that page.

On the Rich Content Editor toolbar is a button to Insert/edit media, and that dialog has

a tab for Embed code.

I paste the embed code I copied from the published Google Slides presentation into that box and

click OK.

The embedded media previews within the Rich Content Editor before I click the Save button.

This can be used in any Rich Content Editor inside Canvas, so it can work for Discussions

or Content Pages or, in this case, the course front page.
