Youtube daily bit Sep 27 2017

Q: "We're starting to gear up for the Antiques Roadshow in Newcastle. What can

we expect, and is there anyway that members of the public can get involved?"

Tony Daly-Brand: "Well the Antiques Roadshow as you know is coming for their 40th anniversary and

it's the last leg of their tour so it's great that they've chosen the Civic

Centre in Newcastle to film their episodes here. What can we expect? A great

event. We're expecting lots of visitors to come

to the Civic with their artefacts, and come along and enjoy the experience.

We're also looking for volunteers who can take part and assist the BBC on the

day; to assist the public - taking them around the venue to the various different

disciplines. Managing the queues and making it a joyful experience for all

the people attending the Civic on that day."

Experiment CRASH TEST hardening bit for screwdriver - Duration: 3:01.

Hi guys

today i will gonna show you

small experiment

quench screwdriver

bits for hardening

Is it possible to harden

bits for a screwdriver?

let's go!

First we try to harden

a bit in graphite

We take the graphite

from the used batteries

this is graphite

Now we must pass current

through graphite

The theory of this method is that

steel will take carbon from graphite

fail

then we will quench

the bit in car oil

fail

now try to harden

the bit in the water

fail

and one new

without quenching

fail

conclusion

fail

fail

fail

fail

There is no sense

to hardening bits

because it's bullshit

use only high-quality bits

and all the best

thank you for watching

Q. Could you tell us about the Grey Society? We are the longest and biggest running

Law Society in Northumbria. Q. And why should people join? Because it's really

good if you're a law student, but you don't have to be a law student.

You can get discounts at local stores, anything to do with Japan, we've got animes,

Forbidden Planet, Travelling Man, they're all under our discounts as well. We do cosplay

club nights as well, fun events at the SU; drinking, dancing in costume with your

Q. Right, tell us about the society?

So, our society is the Mental Health Awareness Society and we basically just aim to raise

awareness of mental health issues within the uni and outside of the uni;

and get people to talk about mental health in a really normal way. It's

something that a lot of people experience and it shouldn't be a taboo

subject. So, we do socials, we do events where we get speakers in, we

fundraise for charities and we also do really sort of light-hearted

socials, like we go to the comedy club, we go for drinks. Q. It sounds lovely; can people come to you if

they are struggling? They can, yes. So, anybody with any sort of issue, mental

health related or if you know somebody who is going through something, or if you're just

interested in mental health in general and want to know some more, then come to our society

and find out a bit more. It's really relaxed and informal and it's just a

great way of kind of getting.. getting support if you need it or

finding out a bit more about mental health.
