Using an external effect unit with the MD-500 to shape your sound
Introduction
Although the MD-500 lets you create many different types of effect,
an even wider range of effects becomes possible when you combine it with another effect unit.
For example, let's say you're combining it with a distortion unit.
Connecting from the distortion to the phaser
produces an impression that's very different than connecting from the phaser to the distortion.
For each patch, the MD-500 lets you specify the order in which the other effect unit is connected.
Turning on the insert loop function
Press the [EDIT] button, choose "SYSTEM," and then press the [EDIT] button.
Turn INSERT LOOP "ON."
Connecting an external effect unit
Connect from your guitar to the MD-500's INPUT A jack,
and connect from the MD-500's OUTPUT B jack to your amp.
Connect from the MD-500's OUTPUT A jack
to the external effect unit's INPUT jack,
and connect from the external effect unit's OUTPUT jack
to the MD-500's INPUT B jack.
Making insert loop settings
Press [EDIT] and choose INSERT SW.
If INSERT SW is "OFF," the effect of the external effect unit is not applied;
if it is set to "PRE" the external effect unit is connected before the MD-500;
if it is set to "POST" the external effect unit is connected after the MD-500.
This setting can be saved individually for each patch.

Quantum Physics Explains – "Death Is An Illusion Created By Our - Duration: 3:12.
Quantum Physics Explains Death Is An Illusion Created By Our Consciousness?
The study of consciousness has gained a huge amount of attention over the past decade as
we begin to not only realize more about the true nature of our world, but as the growing
desire to truly discover ourselves becomes something we cant ignore any longer.
Quantum physics may have just proven that there is an afterlife.
Scientist Robert Lanza claims that the theory of biocentrism teaches that death as we know
it is an illusion created by our consciousness.
Professor Robert Lanza claims that life creates the universe, and not the other way around.
Lanza is no newbie to controversy.
He has been working with cloning and stem cell research for over a decade and with his
new book Biocentrism, he is attracting even more controversy.
While his ideas are ahead of their time, it doesnt help that the current scientific
community is very opposed to new ideas and change.
This means space and time doesnt exist in the linear fashion we think it does and
he uses the famous double-split experiment to illustrate his point.
According to Lanzas study, if space and time arent linear, then death cant exist
in any real sense either.
When it comes to these ideas, they are usually known on an intuitive level and later move
towards being proven at a scientific level.
I personally feel that we give so much weight to our rational, objective left brained mind
that we lose sight of a world that exists right alongside it.
There is a whole other side to us and this world that we close ourselves off to in order
to stay as scientific as possible.
This is one of the greatest hindrances we can put ourselves through as one of the most
powerful tools we have, our intuition/heart brain, is then cast aside.
The same thinking that allows us to realize amazing scientific discoveries can also get
us stuck in scientific delusions should we not stay open to change.
We are seeing this in a huge way as we look at the divides that are being created in the
medical and scientific fields.
Some are holding onto old ways, while others see what has been right in front of us the
whole time, simply by thinking with more than just the mind (with the heart.)
Its important to note that although these ideas seem and are profound, they have been
known for a long while but simply have not been accepted by current culture.

In memory of Freddy: An exraordinary lion in lion world - Duration: 4:37.
I would like to thank Bill Liberatti for motivating me to make this video
Freddy had some really exciting times ruling the biggest pride in all Sabi Sands.
He and his brother must have bin in shock when after they took over the pride from the Toulon lions and set about to kill all the cubs of the pride as is normal standard behaviour for male lions..
He and his brother got a good beating from the lionesses of the south pride who did not want there cubs killed and since the pride is easy 20 strong at least 10 lionesses apprx . they had no choice but to let a lot of them live...
Then about a year and a half into their rule the infamous Mapogos pass through there area as there were only 2 Mapogos left at that time July 2012 and there happened a great battle between the last 2 Mapogos and the 2 KNP lions FREDDY AND HIS BROTHER LIMPER...
The fight was witnessed by people said it was violent But in the end the 2 Mapogos ran away from Freddy and Limper (the 2 Mapogos were nomadic at this time and wandered the Sabi sand they were just passing through KNP lion territory )
A great Victory for Freddy it was to have chased off the 2 Mapogos from his area!!! A great moment for Freddy and Limper they were Kings of all the south Sabi Sands!!!
Sadly Limper was seen a few days after the fight looking in bad condition then seen again in terrible shape .Limper was seen for the last time 10 days after the fight , never seen again
But Freddy kept rolling on for another 2 years(July 2012-May 2014) by himself ruling the southern pride.
Then in May of 2014 at the older age of 9 years apprx . he was overthrown by a coalition of three males called the Sand River Males . He was nomadic since losing the Southern pride in May 2014.
He may have become nomadic but he would not be alone/solitary for long!!!
In about november of the same year he would have new partner to make a coalition of two lions...
And here is the shocking unbelievable part it would be a former enemy of his who he had fought on several occasions who himself was usually in south Sabi sands, none other than the Legendary SOLO.
When this occured in late 2014 people could not believe it to former enemies were now good friends and formed a new lion coalition!!!
For a moment everyone began to believe that maybe he with Solo would retake the Southern pride.
But so sadly these new hopes would not be..
Freddy the last Knp/Kruger lion along with his coalition partner the Legendary Solo had a fight with two lions from the general area who were dominant lions the Charleston lions it seems he died either in the fight or from his injuries of the fight shortly thereafter .
RIP Freddy.. Gone but never be forgotten..

Is Freestyle Dancing a Good Exercise ? - Duration: 3:52.
Is Freestyle Dancing a Good Exercise?
Freestyle dancing offers an excellent type of aerobic exercise.
It makes your heart pump faster, works your muscles and makes you breathe faster.
You burn calories significantly faster when doing aerobic exercise than when standing
or sitting still and even faster than when you do more sedentary types of exercising
that focus on building muscle, such as weight lifting.
As you move your body while dancing, you strengthen your heart, tone your muscles, improve balance
and coordination and burn fat.
Freestyle Versus (Stricter Forms of Dance):
In the context of exercise, it doesn't matter what type of dance you choose; if your body
moves constantly and energetically, then you're elevating your heart rate and burning calories.
Freestyle dance can even offer better exercise than some stricter forms, since it lets you
focus on moving vigorously instead of following careful, less dynamic steps.
In addition, freestyle dance benefits the brain as well as the heart and muscles.
Freestyle dance actually requires more brain power.
While freestyle dancing, you make rapid decisions about how you move rather than following a
predetermined set of steps.
Consequently, freestyle dancing reduces the risk of dementia 76 pecent more than any other
physical activity.
Factors:
Of course, since freestyle dance has no specific characteristics, the amount of exercise it
provides varies.
To keep your freestyle dancing lively, listen to upbeat, energetic music, and enjoy yourself
as you move to the beat.
Move energetically enough that your heart rate rises and you feel a bit sweaty, but
don't dance so vigorously that you lose your breath or can't speak easily.
Keeping your freestyle dance at the level of moderate exercise, rather than intense
or anaerobic exercise, helps you sustain the movement for longer periods of time, ultimately
burning more calories.
Calories Burned:
Depending on your weight, age, height and level of intensity, you could burn between
125 and 250 calories by dancing for half an hour.
The American Council on Exercise points out that fairly energetic dancing, such as some
types of freestyle dancing, burns calories as efficiently as light jogging.
Benefits of Freestyle Dancing:
Dancing of any sort offers an advantage over other types of exercise: It's fun.
When you're dancing to music, the movements can feel inspired, rather than forced.
The urge to move often wells up naturally when you listen to upbeat music, and as you
dance, the music provides constant stimulation, encouragement and reinforcement.
Freestyle dancing is easy to do anytime, anywhere, you don't need a dance floor, a partner,
a set length of time or a wide space.
You can dance standing in front of your desk or in the middle of your kitchen.
Freestyle dances easily fits into your day, even if it's just a few minutes here and
there.
Dancing whenever you hear music keeps you active, increasing the calories you burn daily
and enhancing your overall metabolism.

BELUR & HALIBEEDU ,A PERFECT SCULPTURES IN INDIA (ಬೇಲೂರು,ಹಳೇಬೀಡು)MALAYALAM TRAVEL VIDEO - Duration: 14:15.
it was originally scheduled to reach Hassan from Manglore by train
but when I back from Tannirbavi beach and checkout from hotel to reach the railwaystation ,the train had already gone
catch auto up towards ksrtc bus stand
when I talking with auto driver,he said that the bus is the best
it takes about two and a half hours to reach Hassan by train
the ksrtc bus went straight to Hassan
when I reach Hassan ,it may be nearly one o,clock in the morning
the Hassan bus stand was a big bus stand but there was no nearby facility to stay
a Kannada man helped me to get a room
he took me to the old bus stand on his bike
there were enough loadges near the old bus stand
but the time..that was little bit problem
some people may met from the trip, also we have not asked for anything, but they help
2 or 3 lodges were searched but they got a lodge called' Apoorva'
he awaked the lodge receptionist and said in kannada language should be given the room for me from kerala and returned immediately
I forgot to ask for his name or place
it was a great blessing at that time
by 6.30 am me got out from the room with my camera
two places are aimed at
1.Belur chenna kesava temple 2.Halebeedu-Hoysaleswara temple
one thing remembered when say temple
when saw a temple video from Tamilnadu,a friend asked ,can enter if we were going that temple
all places i have shot and uploaded are permissions for all religions and citizens of all countries
I only want to shoot places where everyone can visit
so where ever I shot in my video ,any religion and any country can access
it is an art rather than a temple
these are all under the archaeological survey of India
the area under archaeological survey of India is limited to having tripod use
it is difficult to do so ,but their rules....... must follow the rules
the bus to Belur chenna kesava temple gets from ksrtc bus stand to the Halibeedu from the old bus stand near the lodge
but Belur temple is open to visitors
open at 7.30 am
Halibeedu at 9 o,clock
so me first to ksrtc bus stand
landed in the Belur stand from Hassan ksrtc bus stand at Chikmangalur bus
three minutes walk from the Belur stand to Chenna kesava temple
back side you can see a pillar ..........................................,its a monolithic
Belur Chennakesava temple
I do not say specially about the beauty of Chennakesava temple
if you are a good traveler do not miss the opportunity to visit here
the impossible skill
at that time ,can not imagine that such beautiful sculpture is carved out
it is under the archaeological survey of India
anyone can visit this temple
I do not tell you more about this design
you see it and decide
the Chennakesava temple ,was commissined on the banks of the Yagachi river in Belur ,by the Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana at AD -1116
Hoysala are ruled this region between 11th and 13th centuries
during their 300 years ,the interest in art and architecture gave birth to many beautiful building
the temple was completed over 103 years his son and grandson after Vishnu vardhana
Belur is located in the Hassan district of Karnataka
it is about 220 km from Banglore and 150 km from Mysore ,40 km from Hassan city to Chennakesava temple
while scholars have mentioned many of the reasons for the construction of Chenna kesava temple ,success in the Chola Dynasty is associated with military achievements
Belur temple is a unique architectural style built with the finest artists and sculptors in that time
the Hoysala templesare located on a typical star shaped fountain
the sculptures of the temple are made of soap stones
the selected stones are from Tumkur ,200km away from Belur
the speciality of this stone is extremely easy to Castle but attends iron like furnace when exposed to the atmosphere
the construction of this temple will surprise us
each stone is made of precision and artwork
it is really creative
charming sight
in a period of technically not so advanced development ,a very versatile production without the help of other device
we will be very surprised
and here is another wonder
42 feet high gravity pillar built in a single stone
it is amazing to see this pillar standing in its burden with out a grip
here me met a group of senior members from Andhra pradesh
one of them was young man's mind, a smart man who was interested in copying them in the camera
their attitudes were filled with me excitement
they loudly said they were in the porch of the Chenna kesava temple my channel name "my different travel"
when I say to bye with them, most of them invited me to their home town
lovingly ,they suggested that I should be photographed in my camera of historical places in their state
I promised them that after my Karnataka trip I will be in Andhra pradesh
went to the bus stand
then Halibeedu
Halibeedu bus was waiting for travelers on one side of bus stand
Halibeedu is about 16 km away from Belur
traveling to public transport in Karnataka is easy to travel compared to Tamil nadu
there is no crowd in the buses
there is a lot of similarity between Halibeedu and Belur monument
the word Halibeedu literally means old city
earlier it was called dwarasamudra
with this monuments we can see examples of the architectural styles of the Hoysala dynasty
these monuments were invaded by Malik Kafur in the 14 th century ,according to Delhi sultan's advice
it was then called Halibeedu
in AD 1311 Malik Kafur's army was removed the city
it has since been disregarded
there is a beautiful garden around the Halibeedu compared to Belur
perfection of carving will surprise us
around AD 1121 the Hoysaleswara temple was built during the time by Ketamala attributed to king Vishnuvardhana the Hoysala ruler
it is believed to have been completed AD 1160 by Ketaroja, the chief architect of vishnuvardhana's son Narasimha 1
another specialty here is the shape of a Nandhi bull carved out of a single stone
Halibeedu also exist for shrines of Jainism
there is a museum and park that has many architectural styles during the Hoysala period
the fee for admission is 5 Rupees
on returning from gallery ,there was a bus waiting for Hassan
can reach the old bus stand in Hassan by about 31km
getting to the old bus stand and eating food.then rest all day
should go for another place tomorrow
tomorrow also have reserved for shooting in this month journey

Get ALL FACTION Gear in under an HOUR!!! - Duration: 3:56.
Hi Guardians welcome back for another video where I give you tips and tricks so you can
play this game as efficient and effective as possible.
Today I am going to show you how you can earn all your faction gear in under an hour.
With the latest update you can pledge to one of the Faction, Future War Cult, Dead Orbit
and New Monarchy and earn tokens by just playing the game.
Once you have 20 tokens you can trade them in for gear.
By the end of the week, the faction that has the most tokens gathered by all the guardians
will win and you will be able to buy one of their weapons for only one thousand glimmer
if you are pledged to the winning faction.
For those who didn't , the gun will cost fifty thousand glimmer.
But you can also just earn all of your faction gear in under an hour with the following method.
Remember that I said that you can earn tokens and trade them in for gear?
What we are going to do is farming those tokens and trade them in so you have all of the weapons
and gear from your faction.
For this farming method we are going to the lost sector on the rig on Titan.
Just follow my lead here, we will be heading towards the Cargo Bay lost sector that is
located on the left when you land on the rig.
Jump over the ledge to enter the building , and from here go down the stairs towards
the lost sector.
In the lost sector there will be 6 supplies that spawn on 8 different locations.
Shooting these supplies will give you a faction token.
So that is essentially the strategy here, we enter the lost sector, shoot the 6 supplies
to get 6 tokens , rinse and repeat.
To make it easier for you I have located all 8 possible locations of the supplies.
When you enter the room there might be one on the far left side wall, the second one
is at the far back left corner, number 3 is behind the container, the fourth one is all
the way in the middle at the back wall, Number 5 is in front of you and number 6 a bit further
away before the ledge, Number 7 is sticked against the left wall of the right container
hidden behind a box, and the last one is in the far right hand corner.
To make the run as efficient as possible I recommend to run any gun with Explosive rounds,
this will be able to 2 shot the supplies making your run much more efficient.
You can use the better devils hand cannon or the exotic Sunshot hand cannon, or use
the Blue scout rifle the Madrugada SR2, this has lightweight frame to move faster and explosive
rounds.
If you are using a hand cannon you should use this route where we shoot the supplies
in the following order, 5,7,6,3,1,2,4,8.
As you can see in the video first check the supply in front of you, then jump on the container
to check location 7 on the right 6 in front of you and 3 on your left, then make a left
and check spot number 1 , head to the back corner to check spot 2 make your way to the
middle back to check 4 and head over to the last spot number 8 to finish your run.
Afterwards head back to the middle and get yourself killed in order to respawn.
The most efficient run is to use the scout rifle, since it has lightweight which makes
you move faster and you can hit the supply from further away which means less time spent
on running.
The farming route is slightly different you start with 5 in front of you, head to the
right to check number 8 then head to the back and check 4, from this position you can check
number 3 and 1, then go to the back to check 2, and you will be ending with 7 and 6.
Rinse and repeat.
By doing so you can get enough tokens in an hour to get all the gear you want from your
faction, You can turn in a maximum of 600 tokens per character after that you will only
get shaders.
So that means you can get up to 30 legendary weapons or gear.
And this should be plenty enough to get all the faction gear.
Thanks you so much for watching this video.
I hope this helps you get the gear you want.
Subscribe if you want to see more content or watch my latest or recommended video in
the end screen.
As always I will see you in the next video guardians.

Having An Identity Ep. 2 - Duration: 2:48.
Hello YouTube community
this is episode number 2 towards having an identity and
I would just like to start off by saying I'm really excited to shoot this series
it's something that I've been wanting to get off my chest for a while and
it's just something that more people need to hear because when we speak about ourselves I
Feel like we're talking way too much about the stuff that's on TV or the stuff that's on social media
And we need to talk more about who we are as an
individual and the stuff that we think is cool and the stuff that we think is exciting because
We're living in other people's footsteps too much
And that's something that's hard to take in and the reality that we are living in we're living where
We move by other people's movements and we drive by how other people tell us to drive
but it should all be based around on how we're feeling it should be based around us being the center of the universe and
when you follow God that is a very good clearance because
You could do anything you want if God is in your light
But you just have to remember that he's always watching down on us if you believe in that aspect
and that's something that I believe in because I
feel like it's good to get things off my chest and feel good about getting them off my chest because
God is giving me life and
I
Would just like other people to listen to my words and to actually take them and consider them that
Being yourself and being isolated
to who you are
Will only start to grow just like that ripple effect that I was talking about earlier. You're only gonna grow as an individual and
Once you start to neglect all the other social platforms that there are end
neglect that
TV is not needed to live you'll start to like feel better about yourself
This heart that you've given yourself
That God has given you and you start to
respect the environment more you start to
Respect your body more in the stuff that you put into your and you start to become a healthier person
and that's all I want all I want is for people to be healthy and
To actually enjoy living their lives because depression is something that is so common among the younger generation
coming up because
They don't know how to root their identity to who they are they're lost in the YouTube realm
And they don't know how to get out of it
And that's something that I feel like I need to express for myself to you guys
Thank you for watching episode number 2 - having an identity
That is all

3ds Max Fluids Part 2 - Pouring Chocolate with an Animated Emitter - Duration: 9:14.
In this video, we take a closer look at how to animate a fluid emitter to pour chocolate onto a strawberry.
If you want to follow along, download the zip file from the description section of this video, and extract it anywhere on your filesystem.
Open the chocolate.max scene.
We've prepared the scene with a path-constrained sphere around an expanding circle.
It's ready to render with Arnold, so all we need to do is drizzle some chocolate.
Create a liquid icon in the scene and place it just above the sphere.
The exact position doesn't really matter, since the sphere will be acting as the emitter instead of the icon.
Let's name our liquid Chocolate_Liquid.
Open the Simulation View to add our colliders.
We know we want our chocolate to collide with the strawberry, the leaves, the little cap, and the plate.
We also know it shouldn't be hitting the background mesh, so let's leave it out to streamline our simulation.
In the last video, we poured our liquid directly from the icon.
Here, we want to emit from the animated sphere, so change the Icon Type to "Custom" and pick the sphere.
We want the emitter to stop pouring chocolate by frame 260.
To do that, we'll start by enabling Auto Key.
Under the Solver Parameters tab, select Emitter Objects.
This top-level entry defines the global settings for all the emitters in the liquid.
There's only one emitter in our setup, so we can simply animate the global emitter settings.
Disable the following checkbox to stop emitting on the current frame, then exit Auto Key mode.
You can confirm that the emission is keyed by scrubbing the timeline...
... or you can use the Curve Editor to inspect the solver's "EnableEmission" track.
If you wanted to animate individual emitters inside the same liquid object, use the override checkbox.
The parameters above define the emitter type, the emission rate, as well as certain characteristics of the liquid being dispensed.
In Emitter mode, the liquid will be continuously generated.
We'll be using this mode to pour chocolate from the sphere.
In Container mode, the liquid would only be generated once.
This mode is useful for creating larger basins of liquid.
While we're here, I wanted to make a quick note about the expansion rate.
Increasing this value will actually make every particle expand into even more liquid, which might not always be desirable.
The parameters below control the voxel representation of the emitter.
In Solid mode, the liquid will be emitted inside the watertight mesh.
In Shell mode, the liquid will be emitted around the mesh, leaving the interior hollow.
In Robust mode, the liquid will also be emitted inside the mesh, but only if that mesh is not watertight.
Use Robust mode when you're dealing with meshes like the teapot.
To emit your liquid in a specific direction, you can enable the following checkbox and create a force helper.
By default, the downward force of gravity will pour the liquid out of its emission region.
Over in the Simulation Parameters, set the master voxel size to 2 and start with a quick test.
Now you might be wondering why we're not getting any liquid out of our sphere.
That's because the faces on the emitting sphere are too small compared to the voxel size.
To change that, go back to the Emitter Objects and add a voxel thickness of 1 unit.
As an alternative, we could have changed the sphere's radius, but this way we don't have to modify anything outside the fluid dialog.
Let's run the solver to see what we get.
Given our setting, those blue squares are a bit misleading.
Let's swap them out to small brown planes.
The flow feels more like water than chocolate, so we need to increase the viscosity.
Go to the Solver Parameters tab, and select Liquid Parameters.
This section controls the liquid's physical properties.
Viscosity in the single digits produces flowing liquids like beer and water...
...while values in the hundreds start to feel like thick syrup.
Let's simulate again with our new viscosity.
The chocolate particles are looking good, so let's display the Bifrost Dynamic Mesh to see where we're heading.
The dynamic mesh provides a preview of the current frame.
Its display settings are also used when there is no cached mesh to render.
While we're here, let's disable Foam rendering.
We mentioned this in the previous video, but it's worth repeating here - one current limitation is that you'll get a blank result in your frame buffer if you try to render foam that doesn't exist.
Press "M" to open the material editor.
Create a Physical Material and set its mode to Advanced.
Assign the material to the liquid and enable the realistic preview in the viewport.
Let's use ActiveShade to get a better sense of how the material will behave in our rendered scene.
Set the base color to a very dark brown and set its roughness value to 0.1
Chocolate has a light brown sheen to it, so let's modify the reflection color.
We'll also want to add a bit of roughness to blur the reflection across the surface.
That looks good - let's go see what our last frame looks like.
It's not exactly ideal.
It feels like a thick fudge instead of a melted chocolate swirl.
But we can fix that - all we need is processing time.
Our main issue here is the master voxel size of 2.
While it did provide a relatively quick result, we lost a lot of detail.
Now, it might be tempting to play with the dynamic mesh settings to shape the fluid into what we want.
For example, we could try to reduce the Droplet Reveal Factor to get rid of the surface drops and reduce the blobbyness.
Or we could try our hand at the Surface Radius to make it thinner...
Maybe the resolution factor might help?
In cases like this one, there's no way around it - you have to give it the time it needs.
Let's iterate by cloning our solver and naming it Solver_Hi_Res.
This way, we can switch back and forth and compare our results.
Make sure you have your new solver is selected.
It shouldn't contain any fluid.
Set the master voxel size to 0.5.
And set the emitter object's thickness back to 0.
We won't need any extra thickness on the emitting sphere now that the voxel size can capture its small faces
Set the display type to Plane so we can scrub the timeline smoothly.
For reference, the high-resolution simulation we're about to run takes about half an hour to solve on my 12 core machine.
Thankfully, we can just skip through that part.
The particles look good - let's see what the mesh looks like.
That's better - the smaller voxel size provided a lot more detail compared to our first pass.
Run the mesh generator to surface the chocolate.
Once the cached mesh is complete, we can change the display type to show it in the viewport.
Let's see how that looks rendered out.
It looks good, but it's still a bit noisy.
To fix that, increase the cache mesh's smoothing factor to around 10 and restart the mesh generator.
When we render again, our chocolate looks much smoother.
The full sequence is now ready to render.
I hope you found this scene walkthrough helpful and thanks for watching.

I'm not sure if you've seen the video
We replaced the engine oil with cooking oil
and..
Maybe it also suffered a bit before that
The pistonrods came out.. that's a fact
This engine is done
You asked me to dissassemble it
and take a look inside
today seems a good day for an authopsy
We're going to take it apart
take a look inside, see what's broken
and I thought that would be a nice opportunity to explain a bit
about how an engine works
many of you probably know this
but maybe there are people who don't
or maybe you just find it interesting
Let's get started; first take a look on the outside
Take a look overhere for example
Here's a hole which doesn't belong there
and the part you see overhere
That's a pistonrod, that belongs to be inside the engine
it snapped
and because those parts are moving at highspeed
it didn't stop at once
so it punched a hole to the outside
and this is the result
the oilpan
a pin is sticking through, that's not normal
I think a part got under the crankshaft
and that's punched through the oilpan
The part you see overhere
That's the engine
and this part; the gearbox
At first I'm going to remove the gearbox
That's the starter
Here we have the gearbox
I'm not getting into details about it
how it works on the inside
but I will explain a few things on the outside
Overhere were the driveshafts toward the wheels
If I turn this, you'll notice
that one is turning the opposite direction and that's because..
In here is a part, called the differential
that makes it possible to make a proper turn
the wheel on the outside of the corner will travel a longer distance than the wheel on the inside
This is the input shaft
that's where the engine is connected to
see if I turn this
you'll see the shaft toward the wheel also turning
overhere we have this lever
that's the gearselector lever
That's connected with cables or rods to the gearshifter
1st
2nd
3th
4th
5th
and
reverse
for so far the gearbox
Overhere we have the complete engine
with the flywheel, pressure plate
and the clutch plate in between
Let's take it apart to see the separate parts
If somebody says; the clutch is worn out
then it's this one most of the time
the clutch disc
That's overhere against the flywheel
and in this hole comes the input shaft of the gearbox
The clutch plate and the gearbox, that's how it is
The flywheel is turning when the engine is running
The clutch plate doesn't turn
and this one
is fit against it
This is the pressure plate
It has a diaphragm spring, which pressurizes
this disc toward the flywheel
between those is this disc
and that's compressed between those two parts
and then this starts turning
and then the input shaft of the gearbox starts turning
and then you'll start riding as it is in gear
Overhere is a bearing, which presses against the spring
if that one is pressed
The ring will move back
and it will release the clutch disc, that's how it is
You will understand if this plate wears, it will get thinner
This is soft material; the friction material
and it can get so thin
the pressure plate isn't able to compress it anymore
this starts slipping
and then you can't drive anymore
Most of the time if you have your clutch replaced,
they will also replace the pressure plate with it
and also the pressure bearing
we call it the 'clutch set'
Nice! Bye, we don't need that anymore
Let's proceed
The part which I'm removing now
That's the flywheel, it's just a heavy disc
See, that's mounted on the crankshaft, there it is
We see nice teeth overhere
and those are for the starter
Let's get the starter
In here is a small gear
it can move forward
This is an electric motor
Here's a coil
When you're cranking, the coil will move the gear forward
in these teeth and it will crank
Don't need that anymore
This one is the crankshaft pulley
That one rotates if the engine is running
This one drives all these
Don't need that anymore
Bye
Exhaust manifold
4 exhausts ports, for every cylinder 1
1 big one, which is broken
That one goes to the exhaust to the back of the car
Can't do anything with that
exhaust gasket
Watch out Diesel!
The alternator
same as on your bike
rotate
power comes out, to the battery, charging. Great
The oil filter
oil is pumped through the engine
no baking oil normally
runs through that, and that catches all contamination
which is in there by accident
Dirt which slips in there when filling oil
wear particles of the engine
gets stuck in there
so if you replace oil, also replace that one
Is very cheap, maybe 7 euros that thing
The engine is stripped on this side
Let's take off the intake from the other side
Here's the intake manifold
This is the part which was against the engine
From here air will enter the engine
On top we have;
the injectors, which inject fuel
overhere
So what you get here is a flammable mixture entering the engine
On this side;
Here's the throttle valve
Overhere the air goes in
Engine support.. bye
Pulleys
Belts
This asks for another solution
Let's see if it still turns
a hammer
handy
This teethed belt you see overhere;
That is the distribution belt
The crankshaft
overhere the camshaft
and this belt
connects those parts
the crankshaft delivers power
and the camshaft is driven
it's very important that these parts
are proper aligned to eachother
tensioner, no longer needed. Bye
Here it is, the distribution belt, very important
if it snaps when the engine is running
most of the time there will be more damage
than only this belt
This shaft will stop at once
and that crankshaft won't stop that quick
Most of the time it will be connected to the wheels
with the gearbox and the clutch
So it keeps turning and the pistons go like this
Those are moving up and down and overhere is a valve
Help I'm open!
Totally destroyed, you know.. not good
Important to replace this sometimes
Nice.. bye!
What are the main sections of an engine
Below we have the oil pan
Overhere we have the engine block
above is the cylinder head
Overhere we had the distribution belt
So we call it the 'distribution side' of the engine
On the other side was the flywheel
So that's called the 'flywheel side'
then we have the cylinders
This engine has 4 cylinders
and those are numbered from the distribution side
So this is cylinder 1
Cyl. 2
3 and 4
Let's proceed breaking
don't need it
This is the waterpump
Overhere was a pulley which was driven with a belt
if we take a look on the other side
Overthere is an impeller
It's an impeller pump
That impeller is spinning fast
the water goes like this
and it's spun away to the side
The water came from this channel
Is spun away and enters the engine overhere
So this pump is circulating the water
or coolant, most of the time there will be coolant
constantly through the engine and the radiator
So the water extracts heat from the engine
travels to the radiator
there are a lot small channels
runs through there and cools down
the cooled water will enter here and will be circulated again
a waterpump can break down
they're replaced often,
in many cases together with the distribution belt
Overhere is a seal
it will wear, water can leak from here
because this shaft goes through here
and it has a seal on that shaft
what sometimes also happens is that the impeller
breaks loose from the shaft
it looks like everything is fine
But the engine overheats while there is sufficient coolant
and that's because this part isn't running anymore
Nice! On the heap, bye
Overhere I have a part which is worth mentioning.
That's the ignition
Older cars have one coil with a distributor
which distributes the spark over the separate spark plug cables
Today that's solved electronically
There are two coils which
can generate a spark for two cables at the same time
that's the so called 'lost spark'
There must be a spark at the end of the compression stroke
at the transition to the combusiton stroke
But this one also sparks at the transition of the exhaust to intake stroke
Here we can see the total ignition
the two coils,
12 volt enters here
at the top, at the thick wires
there we have.. well.. 10.000 volts?
a lot
Don't touch when the engine is running
You'll get an electric shock
Not fatal, but also not that pleasant
Inside is just a coil, a sort of transformer
I can use this maybe
The valve cover
and underneath; the camshafts
These are camshafts
and they're called that way, because there are cams on them
This is a cam
and that cam presses
on top of the valves, I'll show that later
First I will remove the cylinder head, so we can look inside
and then we can see what's broken!
The head gasket
Overhere we see the cylinders and the pistons
Those holes are the cylinders
and the parts in there
I can hammer it down..
and that's even not the one with the piston rod sticking out
So I think that rod is broken too
But the part I just hammered down is the piston
We have 4 pistons and 4 cylinders
Let's turn the crankshaft and see what happens
I believe it just moved
I expected the pistons would have been fretting
But that didn't happen
I'm not sure if you can see it; but at the bottom are some debris of the piston
The cylinder wall is still good
Before I tear down the rest;
I want to take a look at the cylinder head
The cam shafts
Just showed it, but what happens on the inside?
This is the side which sits on top of the cylinders
Here you see the valves with the spark plug in the middle
See these valves for example
They are down and close those ports
So these are closed
If I start turning, pay attention
Look;
The cam presses on top of these valves
and now they open, you see?
This is the exhaust, so the fumes escape through the valve
Now let's proceed.. the valves close again
Like that
in the meantime you see the other valves also moving
See; now the intake valves are opening for this cylinder
Here they come
Flammable mixture can enter the cylinder now
I don't know if you already seen it
But not all of these valves are moving that nice
in the front
there are two which don't work that well anymore
You can see these don't fit that good
Sometimes the open.. sort of..
but in fact they're open all the time
Those are bend
That's because the piston rod snapped
and that piston struck those valves in open position
and it bend those valves
You see some damage overhere too..
Those are the two pistons which didn't move anymore
The rods snapped and they hit the cylinder head
Now we have clear view on the oil pan. There; a hole
Bang, broken!
Yeah.. yeah
That's not how it should be
This is the lower section of our piston rod
The collection box; build your own engine
That's the rod cap
Look at that; it's gnawed
Nuts and..
Threaded rods and more parts
Wow, this one is even prettier!
Look at that
Overhere is the crankshaft
and this, this sieve
that's the suction tube of the oil pump
There's a pump which circulates the oil through the engine
Or the cooking oil, whatever you put in there
Here's a sieve
and it caught one and another..
That's how it goes
The function of the crankshaft is;
converting a linear motion into a circular motion
as you've seen there are several pistons,
which move up and down
That linear motion is converted
with a crankshaft mechanism
into a rotating movement
that's done by the crankshaft
what's the principle of such an engine?
Overhere we have a cylinder with a piston
We call this a 4 stroke engine
and that's because it has 4 strokes
The 1st stroke; the piston moves down
That's the intake stroke
flammable mixture enters the cylinder
after that the piston moves up
that's the compression stroke
the flammable mixture is compressed
when it's at the top
The spark plug creates a spark
The mixture explodes; bang
the piston is forced down
it delivers force onto the crankshaft so it keeps turning
and we call that the combustion stroke
after that it moves up again
and then it forces the fumes, which are in the cylinder
out through the exhaust port
and that's the exhaust stroke
and it continues from the beginning
and that happens then 4 times
Not all at once of course
But one at the time
So this one has one cylinder every cycle which gives force onto the crankshaft
to make sure the engine runs smooth
and prevent you to feel the seperate strokes
and to prevent it from stalling
is it equipped with a heavy flywheel
which keeps it turning
and that's the principle of a petrol engine
there are also diesel engines, they are different
the big difference is;
There's no flammable mixture in the cylinder
during compression stroke
There's only air
and instead of a sparkplug which delivers a spark
Is there an injector which injects fuel
and then we get a self ignition
Because that piston travels up
and because that air is compressed that quick
The air build up heat.. and that heat
causes the fuel to burn by itself
This one is converted into a 2 cylinder,
those are still working
We see some channels here
some of these are for oil distribution
There's a constant oil flow through the engine, also through the head
It also returns through these channels to the oil pan
Here are some other small channels
Those have another color, they are white
Those are water channels
It's possible here in between
a leak will appear
Overhere was the head gasket
that's a seal between those
it's possible it gets bad and start leaking
and then coolant can go from here..
into the combustion chamber,
which causes white smoke
Or it leaks to the oil channel
and then coolant will go into the oil
and then you will get light colored oil
Looks like coffee with milk
Not good!
Look! The crankshaft
Hmmm... this one is all gnawed!
Time for the reconstruction
Overhere we have;
the crime scene
Crankshaft
Pistons
Piston rods
Broken piston rods
This is a piston and rod in good condition
This is the piston
These are the piston rings
Those seal the cylinder
It moves like this
Here are friction bearings
Very important they get well lubricated
This is a hydrodynamic lubrication
Hydrodynamic means that there's a small layer..
of liquid, motor oil in this case
between the two moving surfaces
those surfaces do not touch
they are floating over eachother
That means; that bearing and crankshaft
don't touch, there's a small notch in between
which is filled with oil
that's an excellent way of lubricating
less wear, no complicated bearings
you don't need roller bearings
those are just friction bearings, like this
This one looks fine.. but this one
looks a bit different
now what happened there..
Not the correct oil was used
So that lubrication wasn't that good
The bearing and crankshaft
started to rub against eachother
and friction causes heat
and when you get a lot of heat
also metal will melt
that's what you do with welding
so what happened; those bearings welded onto the crankshaft
I can show that
Here's one which is seized
it won't come off
The bearing completely seized
completely smeared
welded onto the crankshaft
Nice for that bearing it won't move anymore..
But the rest of the engine wants to keep on going
There's a heavy crankshaft and a heavy flywheel
few cylinders
which are still working.. those two
and then it's survival of the fittest
so that's something like...
crack... broken
and that's when you get this
Those parts broke loose
Got beneath the crankshaft
A few cycles more and they got mangled everyhere
All gnawed
Forced out through the engine block
With a hole as result.. that's how it went
I don't think we're going to repair this engine
The oil pan at the bottom
The bearing caps
The crankshaft
attached to that;
flywheel
clutch plate
pressure plate
gearbox
piston rods
pistons
were inside the engine block
on top of the engine block;
head gasket
on top of that;
cylinder head
with the valves
on top of that;
The valve cover
and there we have the distribution belt
from the camshaft
to the crankshaft
Now, we've inspected this engine careful
and the conclusion is;
It's broken
really broken
FUBAR.. it is

Why We Never Got To See An Ender's Game Sequel - Duration: 4:57.
Not long after The Twilight Saga concluded, Summit Entertainment geared up for its next
young adult franchise: Ender's Game.
Based on the Orson Scott Card novel of the same name, Ender's Game was envisioned as
the first in a series of new sci-fi films—after all, there's a ton of written material to
draw from—but the series got canned long before its completion.
Here's why we never got to see an Ender's Game sequel.
Box office bomb
Hollywood is a business—people tend to forget that sometimes.
Studio executives would love to make whatever movies they want, but they have to make sure
they'll make their money back … and then some.
So when Ender's Game grossed a mere $125.5 million worldwide against a production budget
of $110 million, that showed Lionsgate that audiences weren't willing to put up with an
Ender's Game franchise.
Variety called it one of the biggest box office bombs of the year.
With that kind of response, few studios would be willing to jump onto a sequel.
Boycott
There are countless reasons why a movie would flop at the box office, but for this particular
film, an argument can be made that Orson Scott Card's views on homosexuality and the legalization
of same-sex marriage led a number of people, especially those who were on the fence about
seeing Ender's Game, to boycott the movie altogether.
It's impossible to say how much of an impact the boycott had on the movie's box office
take, but there's no denying that in a politically charged climate, any negative press against
a film like Ender's Game couldn't have helped.
Budget constraints
Budget constraints are an ordinary occurrence in Hollywood, but it's almost never a good
thing when it happens.
For instance, Twentieth Century Fox kept the budget low for James Mangold's Logan because
the director and Hugh Jackman wanted the film to be rated R. While that ended up working
in their favor, a studio usually constrains a movie's budget if it doesn't seem like the
film will be as successful as initially hoped.
That rings true for the would-be Ender's Game sequel.
The first movie had a production budget of $110 million, a fairly typical amount for
a sci-fi flick, but the sequel might have seen that number dip below the $100 million
mark.
Director Gavin Hood originally wanted to film the first and second movies back to back,
but Lionsgate wasn't up for that much of a gamble.
Hood said: "It's a pity on many levels because that cast was all there, the sets were all
there, we should've shot the two movies back-to-back."
A tired trend
Before superhero movies fully took over Hollywood, each studio was attempting to launch its own
young adult franchise to snag some of the success of Twilight, The Hunger Games, and
Harry Potter.
Some were successful, but most weren't, and at this point, young adult adaptations are
a tired trend that audiences no longer seem interested in paying for.
Beautiful Creatures flopped, as did The Mortal Instruments, and even initially successful
YA franchises like the Divergent series suffered insanely diminishing returns.
Young adult adaptations can be successful if budgets are kept low and if the movies
are marketed properly.
Unfortunately, every studio wants to believe they're sitting on a gold mine, so they go
full-steam ahead with the first installment, which, in the case of Ender's Game, leaves
little room for expansion in the sequel.
Aged out
As Gavin Hood explained to Hypable, the proposed film sequel to Ender's Game would have been
been based on Ender's Shadow, which takes place concurrently with the first book.
So if the studio really wanted to adapt that story, it would have made more sense to film
back-to-back, as Gavin Hood originally wanted to do.
Several years have passed, and now Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld are far older than their
pre-teen characters in the books.
Butterfield has starred in several other young adult-oriented movies, such as Miss Peregrine's
Home for Peculiar Children and The Space Between Us, while Steinfeld is branching out in movies
like the Pitch Perfect series and The Edge of Seventeen.
It makes no sense to continue the series at this stage.
Then there are the bigger actors like Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, and Viola Davis.
With Ford returning to his iconic characters in recent years, he would be a difficult person
to nail down for the young adult sequel.
To get all these people together again would likely require more money than Lionsgate would
be willing to cough up.
TV spinoff
Even if Lionsgate and the cast were to consider a sequel, could the studio afford it?
Hood made no secret about having difficulties obtaining enough money for Ender's Game.
If he was having trouble getting $110 million in 2013, he's not going to be able to get
enough money now.
And remember, there are several novels continuing Ender's story, and even more in the Shadow
and Formic Wars series.
With so much material, the franchise could work better as a television series instead
of a feature-film franchise.
Hey, it worked out pretty well for Game of Thrones.
In fact, shortly after the movie released in theaters, Variety reported that the studio
was considering a TV series spinoff instead of a sequel.
Since there were issues getting the necessary money for the first movie and it didn't do
so well at the box office, it makes sense for the studio to look at other options.
Unfortunately, there haven't been any updates on the TV front since that report in 2013,
so who knows if it'll ever happen.
