11 Jaw-Dropping Castles You Have to See in England - Duration: 7:22.Lady's 11 Jaw-Dropping Castles You Have to See in England
There's something romantic about a castle.
Maybe it's because I grew up in a place where castles were only in fairy tales, but
I have always thought these medieval fortresses were magical.
Since moving to the UK I have visited as many as I can, and it's been amazing to see them
in real life.
If you feel the same way, today I bring you A Lady in London's 11 picks for the best
castles in England.
Castles in England These castles span England from south to north,
west to east and bring with them rich history of the queens, kings, and nobles who graced
their presence, defended their walls, and added an aura of elevated humanity to them.
Each one has a unique story to tell, whether it's a long-ago legend or a continuing plot
line.
I have been inspired by visits to all of them, and I hope I can share that inspiration with
you.
1.
Hever Castle Over in Kent, Hever Castle is not only full
of Anne Boleyn lore, but also home to some of the most beautiful castle gardens in England.
This moated beauty was the childhood home of Henry VIII's ill-fated queen consort
(one of them, anyway) and also caught the attention of William Waldorf Astor, who purchased
the pile in 1903.
Today anyone can visit Hever Castle and explore its historic rooms and expansive grounds.
The gardens offer everything from topiary hedges to walled spaces with flower-filled
urns and water features.
Given its proximity to the capital, it also makes a great day trip from London.
2.
Windsor Castle Speaking of which, Windsor Castle is another
easy day out from the Big Smoke.
This is one of the best castles in England not least because it's still the Queen's
residence.
Its chapel is used for royal weddings and there's always a bearskin hat or two patrolling
the grounds.
Windsor Castle is beautiful both outside and in, and visiting the sumptuous State Apartments
fills me with awe every time.
Paintings by Holbein, Van Dyck, and Rubens, woodwork by Grinling Gibbons, and rich fabrics
on the walls and furniture show the British monarchy at its finest.
3.
Dunstanburgh Castle On the emptier end of the spectrum, Dunstanburgh
Castle on the Northumberland coast does not have any furniture inside, let alone all of
its outer walls intact.
But this 14th-century ruin makes up for its sparseness with impressive views.
Dunstanburgh Castle sits above the shoreline and dominates the landscape.
Its keep offers sweeping panoramas up and down the waterfront, which is a designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There are lots of sheep, too.
Love.
4.
Dover Castle Dover Castle is another legendary seaside
fortress.
Sitting on England's south coast, its position over the shortest sea crossing between Britain
and Europe has made it a strategic fortification from medieval times to modern.
The present structure was created in the 1180s around a Roman lighthouse and Anglo-Saxon
church, meaning there's no shortage of history here.
But it's not all ancient and medieval.
One of my favorite things about visiting Dover Castle is exploring the tunnels beneath it.
The subterranean network was built during the Napoleonic Wars in the 18th century and
used as an Allied command center in World War II.
It's not often a castle has such long-lasting relevance, but this one's adaptability makes
it one of the most fascinating castles in England.
5.
Alnwick Castle Alnwick Castle has a similar reputation for
versatility that has allowed it to retain its relevance throughout its history.
Converted from a Norman-style motte-and-bailey castle to a medieval fortress in the early
14th century, it has since undergone more changes and additions, including one in the
18th century that resulted in the appearance of Gothic fairy-tale touches.
Today the owners have ensured Alnwick Castle stays on the map by securing it as a filming
location for everything from the Harry Potter movies to Downton Abbey.
They have also put in a tree house restaurant and kept the fountains and gardens in perfect
condition, making it a pleasure to visit.
6.
Bamburgh Castle Up the coast from Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh
Castle stays on the map partly because it's impossible to miss.
Looming over the coast, it sits on a rocky plateau dominating the views up and down the
beach.
But Bamburgh Castle isn't just an imposing exterior.
Inside, the castle has an impressive King's Hall with high ceilings and lots of timber
beams.
There's also a billiard room and spaces that have a more modern feel that reflect
the current owners' tastes.
With history dating back to ancient times and a Norman core, it's not surprising this
castle has so many layers to it.
7.
Lindisfarne Castle Not far from Bamburgh Castle, Lindisfarne
Castle on Holy Island is another stunner.
It too sits atop a hill and can be seen for miles along Northumberland's shores.
The castle is best known for its Arts and Crafts renovation by architect Sir Edwin Lutyens
in the early 20th century.
Acclaimed garden designer Gertrude Jekyll left her mark on the grounds below the castle,
which are bright with flower beds.
8.
Warkworth Castle Back near Alnwick, Warkworth Castle is another
of my favorite castles in England.
I discovered it on my great British road trip, and its beauty was so arresting I was compelled
to pull over just to photograph it.
Warkworth Castle's current structure is thought to date back to the early 13th century,
and the fortress has played a role in everything from the medieval battles between England
and Scotland to the Wars of the Roses.
9.
Durham Castle To the south of Warkworth Castle, Durham Castle
is one of the most unique castles in England.
It sits among university buildings right by Durham's famous cathedral (with which it
forms a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
It's so much a part of the city that I almost missed it when I arrived on my first visit.
But Durham Castle is not to be missed.
The building was originally commissioned by William the Conquerer in the 11th century
for the Earls of Northumberland, but was actually used by the prince bishops of Durham.
I loved exploring the Great Hall, which was once the largest of its kind in Britain, and
Tunstall's Chapel, which has 16th-century engraved misericords.
10.
Warwick Castle Southwest of Durham, Warwick Castle near Stratford-upon-Avon
is another impressive fortress.
Conceived in the 10th century and built up over the next few hundred years, it has impressive
towers to climb, rose gardens to enjoy, historic mills to explore, and birds of prey to see.
The castle hosts a lot of events and exhibitions, from those that focus on the history of the
fortress to those that reenact it.
Some appeal to my taste more than others, but in any case it's good to see the castle
come to life.
11.
Leeds Castle Back down in Kent, Leeds Castle is another
stunning moated number.
I have visited twice on day trips from London, and it's always a joy to see.
With nearly 900 years of history, the castle has been everything from a royal residence
of Henry VIII to an 18th-century Georgian extravaganza.
Today Leeds Castle is a visitor attraction with everything from historic state rooms
to a yew maze shaped like a queen's crown.
There's even a dog collar museum.
But the castle itself is what attracts me, not least when I see its stunning form from
across the water.
I hope you have found inspiration in this blog post and that you get a chance to visit
some of these amazing castles in England.
I have written about castles in Wales, too, and Scotland has more than enough for a future
post.
Visiting and writing about them will probably keep me busy for a lifetime, but given how
magical they are I do not think I will mind continuing the story.

Does Gladys Knight Have Cancer? | Heavy.com - Duration: 4:05.Does Gladys Knight Have Cancer? | Heavy.com
Does Gladys Knight Have Cancer? No, "She is fine," according to her publicist.
The legendary singer said she suffered from the same disease as Aretha Franklin.
During an interview with WDIV on the day of Franklin's funeral, Knight, 74, said, "The last time I talked to her, we were at the same hotel and we didn't know it… We got to talking and everything and at the time we shared the fact that we had the same disease." Aretha Franklin's funeral was held in Detroit on August 31.
Multiple outlets immediately jumped on the story that Gladys Knight has pancreatic cancer.
The same disease that Franklin died from on August 16.
Speaking to the Detroit News, Knight's publicist, Jay Schwartz said that Knight was not suffering from pancreatic cancer that, "She is fine." Schwartz went on to say that he didn't know what Knight meant by the comment.
At the time of Franklin's passing, Knight paid tribute to her friend on Twitter:.
Aretha, your music set a standard for every single lady in this industry to rise to.
You have touched minds, hearts and spirits, including my own.
I pray you have a smooth journey Ree Ree and hopefully I'll get to sing with you in the Heavenly choir.
Love you #QueenOfSoul.
Knight was among the performers, along with Ariana Grande, at Franklin's funeral where she performed the standard, "You'll Never Walk Alone," from the 1945 musical, Carousel.
Before her performance, Knight told the congregation, "It's been a great journey and he knows our every need, everywhere we are, and he gives us the remedies to everything, one way or another.
Cause he loves us like that, even in our music.
He sends us messages.
And the little pain we feel right now, we can put it forward (this).".
When asked about her feelings on Franklin's passing by US Weekly, Knight said, "I miss her, but I didn't want her to suffer.
I really didn't.
And, you know, people could see it.
She just kept driving and driving, and she knew it was a disease that would take her out, and she just kept on doing what she does best.
So Aretha, safe journey.".

Venom Trailer 2 Breakdown- Things You Might Have Missed - Duration: 11:18.Venom's final trailer has been out for quite a while now.
However, as this is the first time Venom is getting a movie of his own, and not being
shoved in a movie with 37465 other villains, I guess we should definitely talk about the
trailer and break it down a little bit.
In the very first scene of the trailer, Brock
is stopping in front of what looks like a prison and given how we now heard rumors of
Woody Harrelson playing the serial killer or Henchman who hosts the evil symbiote known
as Carnage, it would make a lot of sense for Eddie Brock the Photo journalist to be covering
a very well-known serial killer of his world from the prison.
We
then see a yellow symbiote, which has to be Scream.
And as we all know from the comics, Scream, the yellow symbiote is supposed to bond with
a woman.
I guess they transferred that bit of plot directly from the comic to the movie because
soon after we see the yellow symbiote in the life foundation facilities, we see a damsel
in distress, a woman kept in quite the unfortunate condition as Eddie goes on to investigate
the facilities and the test subjects.
Oh and by the way, after the sony and marvel logo and everything, the first shots we see
are the 3 different locations the movie will take place.
First we see two big cities of you know, well developed areas, and later on, we definitely
see what seems to be an Asian country.
Because there's definitely something written in Mandarin.
So, This could be either in China or even in Hong Kong…
Hell it could be south korea, and I could be some illiterate idjit who doesn't know
the difference.
And later on in one of scream's fight seen, we also see a marketplace of what looks like
a suburban area in Asia.
So, the symbiotes look like they crash landed all over the place.
Then we see what looks like that very unfortunate woman attacking Eddie Brock.
So, whether this lady already bonded with Scream or not, I believe she's going to
be the test subject that ultimately bonds with Scream.
We then see a test subject hesitant about being bonded with a symbiote which really
looks like Riot from the comics with a black/ dark grey color going for it.
However, it doesn't look like things went according to plan, as he was obviously not
strong enough to be bonding with Riot.
Also while this person is kinda having a very minor seizure here (Show the dude dying and
shaking) we see a woman, well a part of the face of
a woman behind Riz Ahmed's C. Drake.
I don't know about you, but these glasses that we barely see in the background definitely
belongs to the same woman from the first venom trailer, who reached out to eddie brock for
help with the life foundation.
We then see shots of Eddie's torturous bonding phase with
Venom where he kicks asses of a couple of bad dudes and Eddie trying to tell him that
they can't just go hurting people.
So, that's basically him telling us that Venom will not exactly be a superhero, but
rather an Anti-Hero who is just going to be under the borderline of becoming
a villain.
Venom
in his full form though seems to be huge, towering over the likes of an average human.
Which is actually way more comic accurate than the Venom we saw in Spiderman 3 back
in 2007.
However, there's no spider symbol on the chest of this Venom.
Which was actually explained by the director.
According to him, as the origin story of this Venom has nothing to do with Spiderman, there's
no point of putting the spider symbol on Venom in this case, which also falls in line with
the Ultimate Spiderman comic series' version of Venom.
And a lot of fans have missed one thing from the trailer and have been asking us the question,
that who actually voiced Venom, and the answer is, none other than the guy who plays Eddie
Brock, Tom Hardy himself.
Then we see a female host of a symbiote forming and projecting weapons from her body.
So, very likely, that's scream.
And if you investigate closely, she does seem a lot like the test subject from before that
attacked Eddie.
Towards the end of the trailer, we see a full reveal of Riot, the symbiote we saw trying
to forcibly Bond with a test subject.
However, our theory seems to be holding up perfectly that the test subject wasn't strong
enough as Riot is then shown to be bonded with non-other than Riz Ahmed's Carlton
Drake.
Oh and by the way… we definitely see a couple of shots of venom and then venom and riot
fighting with a very suspicious looking space shuttle in the back.
Here, right Here in this scene we definitely see what that these spaceships are properties
of life foundation.
Guys, we here at fanverse definitely have a theory on what this means, but you guys
better hit the bell Icon right away, because all the venom theories and possible leaked
plotlines that we got our hands on will actually be discussed on another video, that will be
up very shortly in this channel.
So, please hit the bell icon, because I know you wouldn't want to miss all of this.
And from what we could briefly see in the trailer, Riot seems to be much stronger than
Venom as he's seen totally manhandling Eddie Brock's Venom.
This was later confirmed by the director too, as he mentioned that Venom is kind of a weakling
if compared with Riot.
But, even if we count Carnage, Riot and Scream who're confirmed to be in the film, there
are 3 more symobiotes that we know nothing about.
There was no mention or hint of Lasher, Agony and Phage were completely left out of the
trailer and may be perhaps the movie too.
And from the very last scene of the trailer, I guess we learned
that Venom….
Eats….
People?

Do I Still Have Black and White Thinking? Signs and Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder BPD - Duration: 10:57.I've been talking about other youtubers
a lot lately but it's time for me to
open up and be honest about some of the
struggles that I still deal with what is
everybody this is Chris from the rewired
soul where we talk about the problem but
focus on the solution and if you're new
to my channel my channel is all about
mental health I provide information I
talk about my own mental health I I
offer advice and support and all that
kind of good stuff
so if you're into improving your mental
health make sure you subscribe and ring
that notification bell so today's
problem that we're going to talk about
is black and white thinking I have a
bunch of other videos about black and
white thinking I'll explain it a little
bit in this one but anyways I do want to
start out the video by saying this if
you want to check out the video I'm
gonna put up in the info card about my
BPD story I have never been diagnosed
with borderline personality disorder but
after talking with a psychiatrist and
things like that I can relate to a lot
of the BPD symptoms so one of the
symptoms that I have definitely dealt
with and it's still something that I
work on overcoming is black and white
thinking so my life is leaps and bounds
away from where it used to be but I
wanted to talk about like how this still
affects me and also towards the end of
the video I'm gonna tell you about some
solutions that I use that help me manage
my life and manage my emotions manage my
relationships and all that kind of stuff
so black and white thinking alright to
sum it all up basically it's putting
somebody in one of two categories
they're either all good or all bad and
it's really difficult to have
relationships because someone they could
just be the best person on earth one day
but then they do something that you
don't like and then they are just the
worst person on earth so like one of the
things is I constantly analyze myself I
edit ate meditation helps give me
clarity it helps to get out all the
noise and I take a look at myself and
what I'm feeling and the thoughts that
go through my head and everything like
that
like something that kind of thought
about was you know when it comes to like
setting boundaries black-and-white
thinking it's sometimes is very
beneficial and what I mean by that is
like it is help me not hang out with bad
people bad friends or stay in bad
relationships so like I look at myself
and I realize why I do that and I push
people away pretty quick but one of the
reasons for that is is because I'm
somebody who has stayed in bad
friendships for way too long or bad
relationships for way too long
you might be able to relate to that so
one of my fears is is letting somebody
come in close when they have all of the
red flags or warning signs and then I
get stuck in a relationship whether it's
a friendship or relationship right so
like I'm gonna be real with you
so my black and white thinking has come
a lot from being a youtuber being a
small youtuber trying to build my
channel and things like that and I've
noticed that I have a lot of
black-and-white thinking so there's that
old saying that says never meet your
heroes right and one of the reasons they
say that is because you idolize somebody
you look up to somebody and then you
meet them and they're not a great person
now they're not what you thought they
were well as a youtuber trying to grow
my channel like I interact with other
youtubers I reach out I talk to them but
sometimes I don't so I can think of two
instances of other youtubers and my I
noticed the the complete shift the
change right and here's what I mean by
that I'm not gonna name who these
youtubers are but in one scenario there
was a youtuber that I just loved I loved
it's a it's a comedy channel it's pretty
funny and things like that well they
sent out a tweet they sent out a tweet
talking about mental health and I
replied and they reply back and I kind
of noticed that they don't really align
with my views on mental health and just
I don't know advocacy helping people out
being compassionate towards others who
struggle with mental illness they're
they just didn't it didn't sync up with
me and from there like I saw it and I'm
like oh wow now I see your true
colors and and there's another instance
where you know multiple instances where
there's youtubers who I like and watch
alike if I never became a youtuber I
would look at certain youtubers and just
love them forever but now that I'm like
kind of in this thing like I can't tell
you how many youtubers who I absolutely
loved where they they never applied to a
DM comment an email or any of that thing
and like my brain just like tells me
that they're just the worst person on
earth like it's crazy and like the way
it affects me I'm not even joking is
it's difficult for me to even watch
their content okay and some of the
content is very informative
it educates me about different things
whether it's mental health stuff or
things going on in the community but now
that I kind of see them in a different
way
like I can feel my anger there as I
watch their videos some of the channels
I watched that I used to laugh and have
fun watching like I sit there and I kind
of just how there's like stinkface like
you're not a good person you're not a
good person but I recognize that
happening in my brain and it's it's kind
of nuts you know
and again like I do have some solutions
that I'm gonna provide with you but
anyways you know one of the most you
know recent forms of black and white
thinking that I can talk about is when
it came to me being single and you know
going out in the dating world so when I
was like dating you know and I was
talking to a girl or anything like that
like if they had some red flags right if
they had certain viewpoints or certain
things that they didn't like about you
know what I mean I didn't try to you
know make it work I was like nope nope
nope bye and like there's some ballast
that comes with that because yeah like
you shouldn't try to force a
relationship just because someone's
attractive or they have a few of the
same interests as you like you should
have try to force that but maybe in some
instances I was pushing women away way
too fast from one sign of you know
trouble or a little red flag anyways a
funny story about me and my girlfriend
you know
in December it'll be like two years that
we've been together but a funny story
that I talked to her about I've told
other people allowed to is with me and
her first started talking like
everything was great is that whole
honeymoon phase and all that kind of
stuff you know she's busy doing her
thing I'm busy doing my thing I have my
son on the weekends and you knows before
I let her meet my son well I think it
was like one weekend is my son stayed
with his mom let's go out let's go do
something right here's what she says to
me she's like no I'm pretty tired I'm
just gonna sleep all day
I'm just spewing all this stuff every
crazy thing that my brains telling me
right obviously she doesn't care like I
was about to never talk to her again you
see how the black-and-white thinking
could just ruin relationships right but
after talking about it with my roommate
and Sasha's like Chris you're acting a
little nuts maybe she's tired maybe this
stuff you know what I mean
I was like fine so I gave her another
chance and we're still together to this
day it was after that we made it
official started dating and stuff it's
funny because she has a similar story
where she kind of was testing me on some
things but anyways that's an example of
how my thinking can affect us anyways I
want to get into the solution right
because that's what we do here at the
rewired soul talking about the problem
we'll focus on the solution so what I do
I do two things I do two things when it
comes to my black-and-white thinking
the first one is empathize so I try my
best to put myself in the other person's
shoes so when we're talking about like
other youtubers who don't get back to me
or ignore me or you know whatever it is
like I empathize okay and sometimes and
I will make a video about this when it
comes to anger management I lie to
myself okay okay maybe have like a
thousand DMS they just didn't see it you
know and all these other things maybe
they just miss this tweet that I tagged
them in or they didn't see my comments
you know whatever it is right but I also
try to empathize because sometimes I'm
really bad and replying to all my
messages and I'm
of the size of some of the people I'm
trying to reach out to and talk to you
know just to get to know or collaborate
or things like that so that's one way
that I try to get out of my black and
white thinking is I try to put myself in
their shoes and imagine what might be
going on in their lives that would cause
them not to talk to me but not that
negative kind of crazy stuff like oh
they hate me or they're better than me
like I try to acknowledge if my brains
going to that judgmental place the
second thing I do is I try to find a
balance okay I try to find that gray
area rather than the black and white and
what I mean by that right my black and
white thinking will we'll make it so
people have like one strike in their out
okay so I do my best to give somebody
another chance another chance but it's
all about balance because there's that
there is that other saying right fool me
once shame on you fool me twice shame on
me you know but when it comes that
balance what happens is I lower my
expectations I lower my expectations
where it's like I don't expect you to
apply but if you do that's cool you know
and that's that's for me personally like
this might be an awful person who thinks
they're better than me or doesn't care
about small creators and it's only gonna
talk to me when I get huge and can
benefit them more that might be the case
but for my sanity for my mental health I
have to tone it down and not stay stuck
in that thinking all right so I really
hope this video helped you whether it's
helping you understand black and white
thinking a little bit more or if you're
somebody who struggles with black and
white thinking I hope some of my
suggestions help you out all right
but if you want somebody who struggles
with black and white thinking make sure
you leave comments down below like let's
let's make the comment section like how
do you deal with it how do you cope with
it what are your tips and tricks to
dealing with black and white thinking

The Dream Gene? - Have we Discovered the Genes for Dreams? - BREAKING NEWS - Duration: 4:06.Hello everyone, I'm Daniel Love, The Lucid Guide.
Today we have some remarkable breaking news in regards to dream research.
In a study led by Hiroki Ueda, researchers at the RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics
Research and the University of Tokyo have identified a pair of essential genes known
as Chrm 1 and Chrm 3.
These newly identified genes have been discovered to regulate the stage of sleep known as rapid
eye movement or REM, the stage that is associated with dreaming.
It has been known for some time that the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and its receptors were important
for the regulation of REM sleep, however, it has been unclear which receptors were directly
involved.
In the brain, there are 16 types of cellular receptors that acetylcholine can bind to,
but it was unknown which were essential to REM sleep and which were redundant.
Using the gene editing technology CRISPR, Japanese researchers modified and screened
mouse genes, one by one, individually knocking out the genes for these acetylcholine receptors
- preventing them from being expressed.
The study soon showed that a certain family of acetylcholine receptors, the nicotinic
type, seemed to have little to do with sleep, and the mice deprived of these appeared to
sleep much like the mice in which they remained.
However, another family, the muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, appeared much more interesting
with the loss of the two receptors known as Chrm1 and Chrm3, shortening sleep by close
to three hours a day.
The loss of either of these receptors fragmented and reduced REM sleep and also impacted and
shortened non-REM sleep.
Those mice without either receptor essentially didn't experience any REM sleep whatsoever.
Surprisingly, the REM-Free mice survived without dreaming sleep, which is contrary to the common
belief that it is necessary for survival.
However, this may be an unintentional side effect of the animals living in the relatively
safe and "provided-for" artificial environment of a lab.
The discovery of these genes is important, as it marks a new and deeper understanding
of the mechanisms of dreaming and sleep.
Lucid dreamers may have already noticed that the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and its
receptors are the very same system targeted by the active ingredients in lucid dreaming
pills, namely galantamine and huperzine-a.
In other words, this discovery could signal the start of a whole new era and scientific
understanding of the dreaming mind.
We are a significant step closer to grasping the mechanisms behind lucid dreaming.
In the words of Ueda, the study leader "This investigation may help molecularly define
REM sleep and may reveal the physiological roles of REM sleep in its closely related
higher cognitive functions, such as learning and memory"
It's a fascinating and potentially groundbreaking discovery.
Don't forget that you can discuss this research and other lucid dreaming topics in our brand

4 TYPES Of Books You HAVE To Read - Duration: 5:41.Improvement pill here I often get emails
and comments from people asking about
the books I recommend to read and it's
one thing to give you guys a reading
list but I think it's equally important
to give you guys an idea of what sorts
of books you should read so that you can
explore different topics on your own
which is why in today's episode we're
gonna talk about what I consider to be
the four most important types of books
that you should check out so let's jump
right into it the first type of book you
should read our health related book
specifically books on diet
see there are so many areas in our lives
that we can improve on but I think it's
safe to say that one of the best places
if not the best place to start is with
your diet and your overall health this
is because if your health is subpar
you'll often find yourself with low
levels of energy and it's gonna be
extremely hard for you to make changes
in your life when you can barely stay
awake for more than half the day books
about diet educate you on what certain
foods do to your body and as you start
to understand the science behind things
like insulin leptin carbohydrates and
fats you'll find yourself consuming more
of the right foods and less of the bad
ones and if you're able to make these
changes you should see a drastic effect
on your levels of energy and mood
throughout the day which will trickle
down to success in other areas of your
life a good example of a book like this
is the case against sugar by Gary Taubes
which will reveal to you just how bad
sugar is you should also look into books
on sleep and fitness as they also play a
pretty important role the second type of
book you should read are ones about
money now people don't like to talk
about money but money is something that
each and every single one of us needs in
order to survive in this modern day and
age without it you will find yourself
struggling on a day-to-day basis
stressed out of your mind
and certainly unhappy I personally like
to think of money as a game imagine if
you were playing Monopoly and you didn't
know the rules you didn't know what to
spend your money on you didn't know how
to use your pieces chances are you'd
find yourself bankrupt and out of the
game in just a couple of rounds that's
the approach most people take when it
comes to money nowadays we're all
playing the game of money but the large
majority of us haven't even read the
rule book it's no wonder why most people
struggle to get by when you read books
about money how to generate more money
how to invest passive income real estate
and things like this you will start to
understand the rules of the game
this will make it significantly easier
to get ahead because you're playing
against people who don't even know what
they're doing some good
examples of books on money are
unshakable by Tony Robbins and Rich Dad
Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki the third
type of book you should look into our
books on psychology specifically books
on how our own mind and brain works see
the thing is biological evolution how
our brains have evolved over the course
of millions of years happens at a much
slower rate than the speed technology
and society have been growing yet in
modern times
and because of this tons of mental
health related issues are popping up
left and right
things like addiction ADHD anxiety
depression and the like are issues that
more and more people are facing because
of all of these changes in order to make
sure that we live a good life mentally
we need to learn about how our brain
works if we do not society and
technology will make it into its slave
books like the power of habit and
smarter faster better both by Charles
Duhigg will teach you how to optimize
your brain so avoid addiction and become
more productive while books like the
performance cortex by zachsk Ron Braun
will give you insight on the connection
between our brains and our body the more
you understand your brain the more
control you will have over it the fourth
and final genre that I think you should
check out art biographies specifically
autobiographies and memoirs you know how
they say that you are the five people
you surround yourself with well the
reason this is actually true is because
we often subconsciously copy the habits
and the values of the people around us
when you start reading biographies it's
kind of like having a really successful
friend tell you their life story and by
just the factor of Association just by
listening to this story you will start
to pick up on the successful habits that
made them who they are
because behind every successful person
there's a system of effective and
powerful habits on top of that you'll
learn about their values what drove them
to work so hard and accomplished so much
these are often values that you've never
heard of because the people that you're
surrounded with none of them have them
once you hear about these values you're
gonna find yourself liking a couple of
these and adopting them as your own it's
also important to note that you'll learn
about these authors mistakes these are
often huge mistakes that set them back
for years at a time but they will tell
you all about these mistakes and what
you can do to avoid them so you don't
have to personally suffer through them
like they did good examples of books
like this are shoo dog by the founder of
Nike and pour your heart into it by the
founder of
Starbucks these are what I consider to
be the four best genre so you should
look into on your own in order to
further your development of course there
are other good genres out there but I
think these four will have the biggest
impact on your life in regards to
self-improvement this episode was
brought to you if the help of the guys
at blankets now that you know what types
of books you should read you need to
start looking around for good options

3 Mainstay Pillars You Should Have for a Sustainable Small Business Online Presence | Umark Ed. #02 - Duration: 3:20.Hi, I'm Kyle with Umark
Being a small business owner can be a lot of work, keeping up with your day-to-day operations, managing your marketing,
dealing with your team and making sure your bills get paid on time. It's hard enough work on its own now.
How do you do all of that stuff and keep a good online presence? Cause we all know that in today's market especially in Calgary,
managing and building your online brand and presence is everything. Today
I want to talk to you about the three most important pillars to building a successful online brand.
So when it comes to building your online presence,
a lot of people want to start with like their Facebook campaigns or Instagram or building your website.
But the first thing and most important thing is your content. What are you gonna fill those pages with? What's the message
you're gonna be putting on your social media platforms? Building your content, making it unique and
specific to your business, is the most important thing when it comes to building your online presence.
Now, how you deliver that and where people go to engage it? That's a different story.
We'll be talking about that in the next point.
So once you've got your content in place, the second most important piece of the puzzle is your house.
Your house is your website.
It's where you store all the information about your products and your services.
Now, how you display that and represent that is important.
It's important to have good copywriting, good visuals with pictures and videos, and information and things like blogs.
Now the other piece of the website - it allows you a platform in order to track the progress of your marketing campaigns to know how
well you're reaching and getting to new customers. So
lastly if you have great content and a place to store it like a website, the final thing is distribution.
How are you going to get your message out to your potential customers or your current customers. And the answer social media. Things like
Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube.
How do you know which is which? Each one holds a specific demographic and a certain type of client.
So choosing the right platform for your business is very important. And
now not only choosing the platform, making sure that the content that you put on the platform is catered for it.
What you put on Facebook would be different than what you put on Instagram, would be different than what you put on YouTube.
You have to think of Instagram and all these social platforms like coffee shops or places where people hang out.
People open them up every day and engage on them and use them talking to friends, looking for family vacations, things like that.
So when your content comes across them in their feed, it has to be 1)
interesting enough
to make them stop what they're doing and engage it. and 2) be clear concise and
interesting enough for to want to click out to your website or to wherever you need to take them in order to make a sale.
These three pillars that we talked about today are the essence of creating a good online presence.
If you get them all together and match the content across all of them,
you'll be well on your way to building a good online brand.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Wife Have Glam Night Out (with Baby!) After His Plane Incident - Duration: 3:46.Jonathan Rhys Meyers is putting family first over a month after a plane incident that saw him briefly detained by LAX airport police
The actor, 40, stepped out at the Venice Film Festival to attend the Chopard and Generali's Celebrazione party alongside his wife Mara Lane and their 1-year-old son Wolf on Thursday
In July, the family was flying into Los Angeles from Miami, when the couple got into a verbal dispute, PEOPLE confirmed with airport police at the time
The actor later opened up about the incident to Larry King on his show Larry King Now, where he admitted fault for ordering a drink on board
Meyers said he was now sober again after seeking help. "My wife and I had been traveling since 3 o'clock in the morning from Peru back to Los Angeles," Meyers told King
"And they gave away our tickets — it was just a problem with the airline. We had our baby, who was teething at the time, and it was all kind of frustrating
So we eventually got on the flight and my wife went to sleep and I very stupidly decided to order a drink
When my wife found that I'd ordered a drink, she got very, very angry with me because I shouldn't drink
It doesn't suit me and I had been sober for a long time." He continued, "And so I felt that mistake and I got upset and I took out an e-cigarette
And the airline staff told me that I wasn't allowed to smoke an e-cigarette so I put it away
And then I spoke to the Los Angeles police once we got there, who were incredibly kind
Incredibly understanding. I apologized for my behavior, and that's the entire story
" The actor said that he was also trying to quit smoking — to set a good example for his son
Meyers also took the opportunity to maintain that he had learned his lesson from the incident and apologized to those involved
"As soon as I got off the airplane, I went and spoke to somebody and I got back on track immediately," he added
The actor's wife posted on her Instagram the day after reports surfaced to explain that Meyers is working on his anger issues and that the plane incident wasn't serious
"8 months of sobriety and an unfortunate day of airline travel," Lane wrote at the time
"We were in South America specifically working holistically through anger issues that result in these kinds of episodes
When in it… he is not in a frame of mind where he can really even comprehend the repercussions and necessary response to his own actions
J IS extremely sorry for any inconveniences caused to anyone traveling yesterday
