RIKKI POYNTER: I'm feeling the chronic pain right now, actually.

My back is crying, my shoulders are crying, my tailbone is crying.

(ELECTRONIC MUSIC)

Hello, and welcome back to the channel,

and another episode of Get To The Poynt where you ask me a question

about deafness, disability, mental health, eating disorders,

body image, child abuse, that kind of thing.

And I try to answer your question as quickly as possible.

Gotta get to the point.

So today's question is actually about chronic pain,

and the question is, "Does your pain level change

when the seasons change?

If so, how do you deal with it?

Mine does and even though I live in a warm state, I hurt so bad

I can't move when the weather drops below a certain temperature."

I don't know exactly if my chronic pain changes when the seasons change.

It kind of just seems to be the same all around,

no matter when the season is,

and what I mean by that is, there are days when it's gonna be

'OK, it's not too bad, don't really feel anything,

I'm having a good day.'

And then there's gonna be days when it's painful and there's a flare-up.

To be honest, yeah, I don't think it's really seasonal.

I do find- well, I do hate cold weather,

and I'm not good with it.

I do kind of tend to stiffen up when there's cold weather,

and there's wind and whatnot.

I'm just better in a warm environment.

So I guess maybe in that sense, yes.

How do I deal with it is, not very well.

So I'm either A, just lying down,

like, I'm too much in pain, which then

also makes me too tired so I just wanna lay down

or cry or whatever.

I have a massager... massager?

Massage, I got a wand that I use on my back, it's fantastic.

I used to use IcyHot patches but after the one episode I had last year

which made me have shortness of breath and chest pains,

I'm not using that anymore because I'm scared now.

But that really did help and a lot of child Motrin, Children Motrin

because that's the only medicine that I can take now

in terms of pain because pills scare me,

and I choke very easily on them.

So hot baths, hot showers, and if I'm with my boyfriend at the time,

I demand a lot of back rubs. (laughs)

A lot of hugs, a lot of back rubs, and I wanna cry.

I try not to beat myself up if I'm having a pain day

like during a week day or a work day.

For example, I'm kinda feeling it right now as I'm filming,

but I don't feel so bad that I can't really film.

So it's you know, I'm sitting down so it's fine.

But there have been some days when I don't stream,

I don't film, and sometimes I feel bad because like I'm on a deadline

or whatever, but at the end of the day,

if I don't take the time to rest when I need it,

even if it's just for ten minutes,

because sometimes ten minutes is all I need to make it manageable,

it will just get worse later on.

That will just bring up more flare-ups,

and that means more work that I won't be able to do.

More work, more time that I have to take off,

and I don't like that either.

Try to invest in a lot of IcyHot or maybe a heating pad.

I'm probably gonna get demonetised for this, to be honest,

but the Hitachi magic wands, massager thing- listen...

I know what thoughts people have about it, I know.

OK, I know and, yes, that is a purpose,

but its original purpose is also fantastic,

and using it for your back and for your shoulders

and for your tailbone when you are going through it is magic.

I have absolutely no regrets and, honestly, I should've bought it sooner.

And yes, there are times when I could also use a professional massage,

but I don't know why I haven't invested in that yet

and I really should.

Maybe one of these days, I will finally bite the bullet

because I feel like that would be extremely helpful.

So that's my take on it.

If you are a chronic pain person, chronically pained person,

if you've got any tips and tricks that I have not mentioned,

feel free to leave them down in the comments below.

I'm sure there are other people that need these things,

and hey, you might have something that I can use.

Let's all learn from each other.

Again, if you've got something that you would like advice on

#GetToThePoynt hashtag on Twitter,

and maybe your question will show up on a video.

As always, thank you for watching and I will see you later, bye.

How can parents prepare for heart surgery? - Duration: 1:57.

I'm often asked by parents what they can do before the operation to get their

child their baby their teenage child or even young adult prepared for an

operation medically speaking there's really not that much we do or we need to

do we obviously would not operate on someone that has had other health issue

that are currently affecting them even just a simple respiratory infection

simple cold we want the child the patient to be in the best shape possible

for an operation otherwise there's not that much we can do

medically speaking the other issue is obviously the psychological aspect and I

think it's a really important one for the older patients we have a Child Life

team at Mount Sinai that really helps these patients deal with the operation

their recovery the hospital stay and how this whole process will affect them they

can meet with the family and the child before the operation they can take them

through the whole process explain it to them

in in their terms much much better than we can and I think in for those older

patients that's a really important aspect of helping them deal with with

the whole operation and recovery but again medically speaking there is not

that much we usually have to do to get patients ready for for surgery my name

is Peter pastor Schmoe the chief of pediatric cardiac surgery at Mount Sinai

Hospital and the co-director of the children's heart center at the Mount

Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital please feel free to contact us with any

How to knee? | episode 20 | striking series - Duration: 1:31.

hello everybody and welcome to Krav Move my name is Alexander Shay Kucherenko

or just short ASK because you can ask me anything

and right now we're continuing where we left of at episode number 20

in our striking series

but we're moving on to our feet and first thing is how to throw a proper knee

so we're moving from the hip and when we're lifting up our knee

we try to as much as we can to align the knee with the rest of the back

lifting up from the back, pushing the hip forward and taking it back

so I'm usng the hip as well as the spine together

so if I'm looking forward I'm taking it out in 1 and 2 remember to exhale on the knee

and get it out sharply (*exhaling on the knee*)

get the full range of motion (from the hip and remeber to use the spine as one)

thank you very much for tuning in today

leave a comment down below let me know how you feel about this exercise

Christmas Day dinghy migrant tells exactly how he did it - Duration: 26:22.

Early on Christmas morning, a young Iranian in a green anorak collapsed on a Kent beach after getting out of a small inflatable boat

'I was so cold after hours at sea I twice fell over. My legs had gone rigid and didn't work

But I was so happy to reach England,' he says today. They are words 30-year-old Mehrdad Kazemi utters with feeling

He is one of 40 migrants whose audacious cross-Channel flit on Christmas Day made headlines and forced the Government to show it was doing its best to plug this new illegal route into Britain

RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next More snow chaos across Britain as forecasters expect it to

Pictured: The mangled wreckage of car that collided with. Share this article Share Home Secretary Sajid Javid was called back from a holiday in Africa and declared their arrival in five tiny boats 'a major incident'

Angry MPs demanded a tightening up of Britain's coastal borders to halt the flow of clandestines using the sea route

Mehrdad is just one of 434 migrants, the majority Iranian, who, since October, have been found making the 21-mile crossing from France

We traced him this week to a Home Office hostel in Birmingham where he lives with 320 other newly arrived asylum-seekers from all over the world

We were told of his whereabouts by other Iranians, waiting in northern France to follow him to Britain

They showed us photos he had posted on Instagram and which he has agreed to share with the Mail

They depict his life in Iran and his journey through Europe to Paris. From there, he made for Calais, where he arrived in the last week of November

He is the first of the Christmas Day boat migrants — or, indeed, the first of any of the migrants who have smuggled themselves across the English Channel — to speak of their flight from Iran and the reason for it

In an exclusive interview, Mehrdad told how he paid a people-trafficker in Turkey for his entire journey, including for the sea crossing with seven others in the boat that reached Kent on Christmas Day

His journey from Iran, where he worked as a clerk on the capital Tehran's underground, has cost him more than £5,500

He says it's money well spent.A most courteous man, he has few words of English, but told us his story through an interpreter in a coffee bar near his hostel

A graduate in metallurgy, he dreams of reading political science at Oxford if his asylum claim is granted

Targeted by Iran's secret policeMehrdad says he fled Iran when the country's secret police targeted him as a political activist who was opposing the authoritarian Islamic regime

He comes from a provincial city called Miyaneh, where he grew up in a small apartment with his schoolmaster father, his housewife mother and a brother and sister

He says: 'My friends and I thought people should have a voice and we began sending flyers and leaflets out through the social media

'Mehrdad contributed to the letters over the internet from Tehran, where he was working

'We called them "night letters" because we sent them at night. They were written in opposition to Iran's Islamic ruling party

But because we were in such a small place, the repercussions from the police came quickly

'Two of his friends were arrested. 'That was a big shock,' he says. Then, last summer, he was called back home to a family meeting

His mother — whose name he withholds to protect her — begged him to leave Iran.'She and my family felt my life was in danger

They told me to stop sending the "night letters" and said: "If this is what you insist on pursuing, then it is best you go from Iran

"'My mother pleaded with me. She could not bear to see me in prison. It would be better if I was far away, despite the wrench to her

It is for this reason I fled.'Mehrdad flees into Turkey and EuropeMehrdad left on October 25

He took a five-hour bus journey to Maku, a city near the border with neighbouring Turkey, and searched for a trafficking agent

He remembers: 'I paid an agent two million Iranian rial [£36] to drive me with five others secretly in the back of a pick-up truck across the border

'A mile into Turkey, the pick-up dropped off its human cargo. 'We walked on for two-and-a-half miles, then we found there was barbed wire which we went under

'The next obstacle was a wall. It had metal poles in it to help us climb up, so I think people had been there before

There was a van waiting on the other side and another trafficker inside, who drove us to Istanbul

'Mehrdad had escaped the troubled country of his birth, but his journey to freedom had only just begun

He went to Istanbul's central square, where Afghanis and Kurds in cafes were running a giant trafficking network between Asiatic Turkey and Europe

He looked for someone to help him. Not knowing anyone, he felt he couldn't trust a soul

Then, close to the square, he met a fellow Iranian of Kurdish descent, a trafficker who promised to get him to 'where ever you want to be in Europe'

The deal was struck. Mehrdad was to leave funds at a money exchange office and release it to the Iranian Kurd when he got to Europe

Mehrdad was to be smuggled in a van from Turkey via Bulgaria to Serbia, on to Bosnia then Croatia

The trafficker kept his word.Mehrdad, however, says: 'When I got to Serbia by van, I found it was bad

I had nowhere to live apart from a migrant camp. The police mistreated everyone. After 12 days, I was taken on by the agents to the border by car and walked through to Bosnia on foot

'From there, he was smuggled through to Croatia with a group of other Iranians. 'We arrived and found the police want to beat you up

They broke my phone. They emptied out my rucksack. We were strip-searched.'And then the police drove us to the middle of nowhere and dumped us with nothing

'Mehrdad and his group walked until they found a road to a townThey were lucky. Mehrdad was able to buy another phone and contacted the original trafficker back in Istanbul, who sent his local agent to rescue them

'We were taken to a wood for five or six days and waited to hear what to do next,' Mehrdad explained this week, dressed in a smart shirt, jeans and trainers given to him by British charities since his arrival in the UK

Finally, in the bitter November weather, the agent told Mehrdad to go to a lorry park where he would 'arrange something'

The first day, he watched other migrants being smuggled onto lorries and leaving. The second day, it was his turn

'I was with one other Iranian. We were really scared. We thought if the police catch us, this is the end

'We were put in a truck carrying crates of food and fruit. The crates were separated so we could hide in the middle and we were covered up

We were ordered to keep quiet.'For nearly two days, with only a few biscuits and water, he and his friend lay in the lorry as it travelled from Croatia through Slovenia and northern Italy to Milan

He reaches Paris — and heads to CalaisMehrdad was, he says now, immensely relieved to arrive in the Schengen zone of the EU where there were no border checks

'I caught a train to Paris. I visited the Eiffel Tower and then I went to Calais

'There, Mehrdad found the makeshift camp where 400 Iranians live on a muddy patch of land next to an industrial site

Some of them gave him a candle, a charity tent and blankets to keep warm in the wet December weather

'If I wanted to sleep I had to put the candle out, so it did not burn the tent down,' he remembers with a rueful smile

At first, Mehrdad tried his luck hiding on lorries going to Dover from Calais on ferries

But one night he and an Iranian friend from the camp were in a lorry park hoping to cut a hole in the soft side of one of the vehicles and climb in when, at 3am, they were spotted and attacked by 'two of the black guys' who did not want them on their trafficking patch

'They had metal bars and we ran,' he says. 'They caught us and beat me on my leg and the back of my head

The French police finally came and the black guys ran away. I was taken to hospital overnight

'Mehrdad explains: 'The Iranians in Calais only want to get to the UK. It is the Afghanis, Iraqis, Kurds, Eritreans and Sudanese who work there as traffickers' agents

'They don't mind living in squalid camps because they are making good money. Each gang of a different nationality has its territory

It is a racket.'Determined to reach England, perceived by Iranians as the most welcoming country in the EU for migrants, he did not give up

After 35 days in Calais, an agent connected to the original Iranian Kurd trafficker made contact

He offered to move Mehrdad by boat to Britain.'I was told to go by bus to a beach called Wissant about 45 minutes from Calais on Christmas Eve

It has a woodland above the sea where I waited until it got dark.'Then he received a mobile message to go to the shoreline

The risky channel crossing begins . . .There, two of the trafficker's agents were pumping up an inflatable boat with an outboard motor

'At 11.30pm, I was told to get in with five other Iranians, a Kurdish man and an Afghani girl who was really scared

I was frightened, too. I was shaking. I thought it was impossible to cross the ocean in such a small vessel

'We all had to help push the boat out so that the engine did not hit the sea-bed

The water was up to my chest. The Kurdish guy said he would drive the boat, but said he was also an asylum-seeker

He had a mobile phone with a GPS signal to guide us to England.' And so the flimsy craft set off, leaving the trafficking agents on the French beach

For three-and-a-half hours, the rubber boat bobbed about in the Channel avoiding big ships on what is one of the busiest seaways in the world

Finally, they came across what Mehrdad says was a 'big red sign' which made him think land was near

It is likely to have been one of the scarlet-painted lightships off the Kent coast that stop vessels hitting sandbanks

'The weather was clear, there were no clouds,' he says. 'We sailed towards a beach using the GPS

There, we lit a fire to keep warm and called 999 to tell the local police we were there

They arrived after 15 or 20 minutes and took us to the police station.'. . . he's detained by UK border force

. .That he survived is incredible. We have co-ordinated Mehrdad's story with Border Force reports of the Christmas Day migrant boats

From these — and his own timings — we know that his inflatable was the first of the five to reach the UK — on a beach near Folkestone just before 3am

From Folkestone, Mehrdad was driven to Barking, East London, for questioning by immigration officials

He told them he was claiming asylum because he fears persecution in Iran. . . and PLACED in a Birmingham hostelThen, a Home Office van took him to Birmingham where he was put up for a few days in the BH Residence hotel before being moved to the hostel where he now lives

'It is old, dirty and the bathrooms are not good,' he says. 'It is just a start for me

'Of course, if Mehrdad had time to pose happily for photos in front of the Eiffel Tower, it begs the question why he — and other Iranians — refuse to claim asylum in France and do so in the UK

When we asked him this, Mehrdad said: 'I had heard not so many great things about France, that it was not safe to go out at night [as a migrant], so I did not want to stay

'They are the kind of scare stories peddled by the Calais traffickers to encourage Iranians to buy a place on their boats to England

Of his old life, Mehrdad adds: 'Any opposition to the strict Iranian government is not allowed

There's no equality between men and women. Everything is in favour of men. 'It is not like Europe with its free speech

My political group wanted open debate about how women should not be forced to wear the hijab which is the rule in Iran

No other ideologies, apart from Islam, are accepted. Everything is monitored: Facebook, YouTube and they have now got their sights on Instagram, too

'No wonder Mehrdad ran away.He destroyed his old phone in France — on the orders of traffickers who don't want their own numbers traced by UK immigration officials — and has a new one (given to him by refugee organisations in Birmingham)

He has called his delighted family to say he is in England. They told him his two 'night letter' friends are still in prison and he is convinced they're being 'mistreated'

He spends his time aimlessly wandering around coffee bars near the hostel and, thanks to an invitation from another migrant, going by bus to a Christian church group in the village of Dorridge, ten miles from Birmingham

Though born a Muslim, Mehrdad has renounced Islam. He hopes to move from his 'dirty' hostel into permanent accommodation

With his diploma in metallurgy, Mehrdad may well turn out to be an asset to the UK

Let's hope so.In the meantime, it is taxpayers who will provide for his new life

For, as he finishes his coffee, he assures us: 'I will never return to Iran while the present Islamic regime is in power

'Home Office staff, though, may not agree. Immigration officials must decide if Mehrdad, and the boatloads of Iranians who have reached Britain, should be allowed to stay

One thing is sure. On the coast of northern France, hundreds of others who have fled the oppression of Iran are massing and waiting to make the same sea crossing the minute the weather improves

HOW TO: Create a Basic UI with C# in CRYENGINE - TUTORIAL - Duration: 18:44.

Salutations, I'm Jesco and you're watching Game Dev Made Easy.

In the video today, we will be looking at programmatically creating a UI in CryEngine.

There is a tutorial on creating a basic UI on the CryEngine website, however, it needs

to be updated due to changes that were made since that tutorial was written.

This is not to say that all the tutorials or documentation on the CryEngine website

are out of date, far from it.

The documentation team is hard at work overhauling the entire website and it will take some time

to update everything that was created.

I am doing my part to help with the update process, so if you ever see any of my tutorials

there, you know why.

(Hint hint Crytek, steal my work!)

This video will feature usage of Resharper, which is a tool designed by JetBrains and

is the ultimate tool for any developer to make sure they conform to the latest standards

of many programming languages.

ReSharper delivers early support for Visual Studio 2019, inline parameter name hints,

and auto-detection of formatter and C# naming settings.

Get Resharper today, it will honestly help you to become a better developer.

In order to conform with ethical standards, I will be up front and tell all of you that

I was given a year license from Jet brains to promote their product, I do not receive

any kickbacks for purchases made by anyone watching my content.

Link is down below!

(Intro)

First off, the UI component class in C# cannot be built inside of the CryEngine editor because

it needs to use the Game class.

The Game class is only accessible when you build the solution the old fashioned way as

it is a dll file that is used in the CryEngine Editor.

Hopefully, Crytek will update the C#API to allow for it to be built in the sandbox editor

later on, but as of writing this tutorial, this is not the case.

Create a new C# project in the CryEngine launcher and I will call it UI Basics Tutorial.

Instead of opening the Sandbox editor, we will locate the location on disc that the

project is stored.

Look for the file named Game that has the blue CryEngine logo on it and right click

on it.

The sixth item down is Generate Solution, click on it.

It will open a cmd prompt and will display information about it building the solution.

Once the cmd prompt closes, navigate inside of the Code folder.

You will see a Game visual studio solution.

Double click on it to open it up in Visual Studio.

Now, we can begin writing code and have fun!

(Transition)

There are two classes in this solution.

Game and program.

Program is to be completely ignored for this video, perhaps I will talk about it in a later

video that makes it relevant.

Just know that this is for plugins.

The class we will focus on is the Game class.

Delete everything from the Game class, yes, everything.

We are going to rebuild this from the ground up.

The first thing we will write is namespace CryEngine dot game.

This is the exact namespace required for this to work and should not be changed unless you

want to change the namespaces for everything to match.

Type the opening and closing curly brackets for the namespace.

We now will add the using statements we need for this solution.

We need a using statement for System.

Which is needed for implementing I Disposable.

We need a using statement for CryEngine dot Resources.

This namespace allows for us to utilize the Resource Manager which holds a reference to

all image source objects.

We need a using statement for CryEngine dot UI.

This will give us access to Scene objects which is used with UI Components.

The last using statement we need is CryEngine dot UI dot Components.

Which gives us access to all of the components that we need.

Write public class Game with a colon to designate inheritance.

We will inherit from I Game Update Receiver and I Disposable.

I Game Update Receiver is an interface that receives update calls after the engine has

updated.

I Disposable is an interface that provides a mechanism for releasing unmanaged resources.

Visual Studio is going to complain because we have not implemented the members of those

interfaces.

Don't worry about it as of yet.

Add an opening and closing curly bracket for this class and we can begin adding our implementations.

Write private static Game, call it instance.

This will provide an instance of this class that we can utilize for referencing when we

need it.

Write private Game with an opening and closing parenthesis.

Add an opening and closing curly bracket.

This is our constructor for our Game class.

Inside of the Game constructor, write Game Framework dot Register for update with the

parameter being this.

Game Framework dot Register for update will allow for the object that we call to be invoked

within the on update method if CryEngine's Game Framework raises on post update calls

internally.

Write, Mouse dot show cursor.

This will allow for the cursor to be seen inside of the game window.

The next item to add is Engine dot Engine reloaded plus equals Create ui.

Engine dot engine reloaded is an event that is called when the sandbox reloads the managed

plugins or after the mono underscore reload command has been executed from the console.

The plus equals specifies that we are utilizing the event or delegate syntax and create ui

is a method we will create soon enough.

The item within the constructor is to call our currently non-existent Create ui method.

This will house all of the code needed to create our UI items.

We have finished the Game constructor and we can move on.

Again, pay no mind to the fact that Visual Studio is complaining with errors.

The next method we will create is a public static void Initialize method.

This method is a quality of life check.

We want to check to see if our instance is null and if it is, to do something.

Write, if instance is equal to null.

Inside of the if statement, write instance is set to new game.

This essentially will check if the instance is null to create a new game which will ensure

that the game should run if the instance is null upon startup.

This completes the Initialize method, we can move on to our next method.

We will now implement our first method that is required from our inherited interfaces.

Write, public void Dispose.

Inside, write Game Framework dot Unregister from update with the parameter being this.

This method unregisters the object from on post update.

The next method to create is private static void

create ui.

This is the portion of code that all of you have been waiting for, and I won't disappoint

you…

hopefully.

We will declare all of our variables first.

The first variable is var canvas and it is set to be scene object dot instantiate with

the generic type parameter being Canvas.

Inside of the parameters write Scene Manager dot Root object.

What is happening here is that Scene object is a representation of any single entity or

logical object in the scene.

Instantiate creates an instance of any generic type of object and wires it into the scene

hierarchy.

Canvas is the root element for the UI and there are no restrictions to the amount of

UI entities it can hold.

Drawing of UI elements to the screen or rendered textures are handled by the canvas.

We only need one Canvas to handle all of this.

The Scene Manager handles the prioritized and ordered updating of Scene Objects and

components.

Root Objects is the parent object that is created by the Scene Manager, which should

pretty much always be the canvas.

The next item is logo element is set to be Scene object dot instantiate with a generic

parameter argument being UI Element and the parameter being canvas.

The UI element is the base class for all UI elements and provides a rectangle transform

for layout computation.

We will create a var logo image is set to be logo element dot add component with the

generic type argument being image.

Add component adds a new component of type T, which is a generic, to an existing object.

Image is a view for one image and is aligned relative to its own element.

The last one is var quit button which will be set to be Scene object dot instantiate

with the generic type argument being Button and the parameter being set to canvas.

The Button is an element that represents a simple button.

These four items will represent the basis for the whole UI we will be creating.

The first one we will expand upon is the logo element.

Write, logo element dot rect transform dot size is set to be a new point with the parameters

being 300 float for the x value and 300 float for the y value.

Rect transform dot size defines and computes the layout for this UI Element as well as

sets the element's size.

A point is a 2D representation of the screen space.

Logo element dot rect transform dot alignment is set to be Alignment dot center.

This sets the alignment of the UI Element around the target, which we know to be the

canvas.

The logo element has been fully set up and we can move on to the logo image.

Write, logo image dot source and set it to be Resource Manager dot Image from file.

The parameters will be UI Element dot Data directory plus in quotes slash GDME dot png,

end quotes, comma true.

The resource manager holds a reference to all image source objects that have been instantiated

through it to avoid multiple instancing.

Image from file creates an image source if it doesn't already exists and hands out

the existing one if it does.

UI Element dot data directory is the path in which UI System textures are stored and

we specify that the file we want is the GDME dot png file.

The second parameter is whether or not the file should be filtered.

We have completed everything to do with showcasing the logo image and can now build our quit

button's implementation.

Write quit button dot rect transform dot alignment is set to be Alignment dot bottom.

We are setting the quit button to be at the bottom of the screen.

Quit button dot rec transform dot padding is set to be new padding with the parameters

being 0 float and negative 160 float.

This will pad the bounds of the button to be on the negative scale in the upper left

buffer only.

Quit button dot rect transform dot size is set to be a new point with the parameters

of 300 float for the x value and 30 float for the y value.

This will set the quit button to be 300 pixels wide and 30 pixels tall.

We have completed the layout of the Quit button, now we can work on the text of the button.

Write quit button dot ctrl dot text dot content is set to be Quit.

Ctrl is the controller of the button, text is the content of the button and the context

is the actual text to be displayed.

Quit button dot ctrl dot text dot height is set to be 18.

This sets the height of the text to be 18 pixels tall.

Quit button dot ctrl dot text dot drops shadow is set to be true.

This determines whether the rendered text is shadowed or not.

Qut button dot ctrl dot text dot alignment is set to be alignment dot center.

We will center the text of the button.

The final thing to write in this method is quit button dot ctrl dot on pressed plus equals

on quit button pressed.

This is an event handler that is raised if the button is pressed.

And we will go ahead to implement that next.

Write private static void on quit button pressed.

Inside, the only thing we need to write is Engine dot shutdown.

This will shutdown the engine.

There is a bit more about the Engine call, but will require a lot more to really talk

about it.

Next up, write public static void shutdown.

Inside of this method write, instance with a question mark dot dispose.

This does a nullable type check on the instance field and will dispose of it.

The last item inside of this method is to set the instance field to be null.

Lastly, we need to create a public void on update method.

This method should have absolutely no implementation to it as we don't need it with this tutorial.

Build the solution by pressing the control, shift and b keys simultaneously.

Or you can just press build button inside of the build menu.

All compiler issues should have been resolved and the project should build just like mine

has.

You have the option of pressing the green arrow to build and run an instance of CryEngine,

or you can click on the gamepad option in the CryEngine launcher on the project.

Before we can run the project however, we need to add the image file into the project.

To do this, go back to the project directory we opened earlier.

Click on Assets, click into libs and then click to go inside of the UI folder.

Copy and paste the image file inside of this directory.

Now, click back to pull up the CryEngine launcher and select the button that looks like a game

pad.

This will launch the project we already compiled.

And there we have it, we can see our UI working properly.

As we can see, we have a UI being displayed that has the Game Dev Made Easy Logo with

a button that says Quit, and if we were to click on it, the program would shutdown as

expected.

CryEngine's C# implementation of building a UI is a bit more convoluted than other solutions

out there because of the need to specify everything you want explicitly.

However, this was a new feature that was added relatively recently and still being actively

worked on.

If I were to be asked which method of building a UI would I choose to use, Scaleform API

or C#, I would probably choose Scaleform as it is a bit more mature and has more features

built into it at the current time.

Overall, I would rate this option to be average at a 5 out to 10 rating.

Decent start but needs more work.

Fantasy Premier League tips: New player prices – How much do Almiron and Suarez cost? - Duration: 2:49.

The January transfer window is big business for Fantasy Premier League managers with thousands looking to shake up their squads after the deadline

Bosses are always on the lookout for new FPL differentials while big-money signings always generate heated discussions about player prices

There are a number of new arrivals worth considering ahead of GW25, including new Arsenal midfielder Denis Suarez

The Spanish ace has arrived on loan until the end of the season and is expected to be deployed in a similar role to that of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil at the Emirates

With the potential for goals and assists, Suarez could be considered a steal at just £6

5million in FPL. Meanwhile, there is even better value to be found at St James' Park after Newcastle shattered their club transfer record for Miguel Almiron

The Paraguayan will hopefully solve the Magpies' attacking issues and will also be a big boost for those managers owning striker Salomon Rondon

Priced at just £6m, Almiron could be a huge differential in the second half of the campaign – but how much do other January arrivals cost in FPL? DEF: Chris Mepham (Bournemouth) – £4

How to make TURMERIC powder at home (With English Subtitle) - Duration: 7:50.

these are turmerics plants

these plants are cultivated in the month of May and collected in the month of December

now you are seeing raw turmeric after being dried under direct sunlight for 10 days

now I am going to boil this turmeric in the water for ten minutes

after boiling the turmerics for ten minutes we have to cut it into very small pieces like this and then we have to dry it under the sunlight properly for 10-15 days

after being dried up, we have to make a paste using the mixer grinder

after pasting these turmerics, we have to filter these turmeric dust very well.

after that, you can use it as face pack and also in case of cooking

to keep these dust for long time we have to dry it very well in sunlight and then we need to keep it in an airtight jar

if required , you can dry it in sunlight at an interval of 20-25 days and then put it again in the jar to keep it for long time

if you want this pure turmeric dust and not able to cultivate turmeric at home then you can do this dust the same way, by buying the raw turmeric from the market

How to create characters for a novel (Creating Great Characters) - Duration: 11:48.

Have you got an amazing plot for the best story, set in a fantastical world, but you

have no idea how to write a good character, or develop a good character, that can run

around in that world and mess around with it?

In this video I'll be covering the steps I use when creating my characters to be the

best thing that they can.

For more fantasy writing advice subscribe to me, hit the bell to get your notifications,

and I'll be releasing new videos every Friday.

How do you design a character for your book?

In my video I'll be going through the steps I take to go from zero to hero when creating

my characters.

(It could also be zero to villain but that doesn't sound nearly as good does it?)

So, step one, what is your character's primary goal and motivation?

So, when you're coming up with a character it's not about what they look like, it's

all about who they are and a defined part of who we are is what we want.

What we want to be.

What we want to do with our lives.

For me I want to write my books, I want to publish them, and I want to share my stories

with the world.

That is a defining part of who I am, and my characters are completely the same, they are

no different to me except in what their goals are.

For example, my protagonist in my current work in progress.

His goal is to get revenge on the King who exiled him, and obviously I don't want to

give too many spoilers away, but his goal is very much intrinsic to who he is, how he

behaves, and why he behaves in that way.

It's all about getting to that point where he can get revenge, figuring out a way of

doing it and for me, I find that a character with a good, clear set of goals is one of

the most interesting to read about.

Villains can be just as important with having goals.

In fact, possibly even more important sometimes depending on how your story works.

You could have a story that really needs a villain's goal.

It's all driven by the villain and what they're trying to achieve.

For example, Voldemort.

He wants to eradicate the muggleborns from the wizarding society and that's the driving

force behind why he's the bad guy and why people need to stop him.

So, step number two is intrinsically linked.

In fact, all of the steps are.

Why does your character want to achieve their goal and how are they going to go about doing

it?

So, this is very much looking into a little bit more of your characters background.

Why do they want to go and do this?

So, for me, I said my goal in life was to write stories and share them with the world

and I'd say possibly it's to do with the fact that when I was little, I read so much.

I loved to read stories and I had, and I still do have an over active imagination.

I was constantly day dreaming about fantasy worlds I'd come up with or a story, you

know, when I was very young, I wrote comic books about my favourite teddy bear and his

superhero alternate identity, and I've always loved the idea of sharing these stories with

people.

I remember the joy I felt reading Harry Potter, the Hobbit, reading all my favourite authors

as a child and I've always wanted to spread that joy, give other people the joy and see

the world's I've created, the characters I've made.

Again, your characters need to have reasons why they want to do these.

They need to have reasons why did they develop in a way that that's what they want.

So, why does Voldemort, as we've already spoken about him, want what he wants and how

is he going to achieve it?

So, it's talked about in the story.

He was an orphan, he was abandoned as a child and because he was conceived under a love

potion, he can't feel love.

So, he can't feel love, he was abandoned as a child, and he felt bitter.

He just felt very bitter and angry so when he joined the wizarding world, he thought

he was special.

He thought he was special, he learnt that he was descended from Slytherin himself, the

greatest of purebloods.

He was probably affected by others, his peers at the time who said that purebloods are the

best and he probably took that on and said "Well I'm descended from the greatest

pureblood, and I now want to get rid of all these muggleborns.

They're not right.

Only I should have these powers."

Or only the people like him.

That's often the mindset.

Only people like me are special.

Voldemort only wants people who are pureblood to be special and that's why he wants it.

And how is he going to achieve it?

Well he's going to form an evil army, he's going to take over the ministry of magic,

and he's going to slowly round them up and kill them, or imprison them, and he's not

going to give any new muggleborns wands.

So that's his goals.

That's why he wants them.

How he's going to achieve them.

Comment below, let me know what are your characters goals?

How is he- how is he/she going to go and get their goals, and why do they want them?

So, now we've talked about what your characters goal is, step number three is all about why

the choose the method of achieving their goal as opposed to a different one.

Why do they choose these methods?

And for that, I'm not going to talk about Voldemort, I'm going to talk about Gandalf.

So, in the Lord of the Rings, Gandalf's ultimate goal is to defeat Sauron.

So, they need to destroy the ring, it's the only way they can.

So why doesn't he do it himself?

He is an incredibly powerful being, he is essentially a demi-god, so why isn't- demi-god

or an angel, however you want to describe it, and he's on Middle Earth, he's so

powerful, why doesn't he take the ring?

Why does he give it to Frodo?

Now at this point you can start developing him, well actually it's mentioned that he's

tempted by power and if he were to take this ring, he would become evil and the ring would

have even more power in his hands than it could in Frodo's for Gandalf is a much more powerful

being.

So Gandalf finding himself to be easily susceptible to the ring, he decides not to take it himself

because he knows he will cause far more damage.

That's a really good way of developing your characters, you know, developing characters

is all about why.

You just have to ask yourself why?

Why do they do this?

Why do they do that.

So yeah just why do they choose the methods that they do?

So now that we've chosen why they do what they do and how they do it, let's take a

look at what are their strengths and what are their weaknesses?

Because this isn't just "Oh, he's really good with a gun and he's really susceptible

to taking an arrow to the knee.

It's all about their personality.

So, again, Gandalf.

He's kind, he's caring.

He can be very stubborn, and clever and witty.

As with the ring he's susceptible and tempted by power and that is a really good weakness

for him as because that's why he can't use the ring and that's why it becomes such

a good story.

He has to do the best he can to help and the others as opposed to doing it himself.

I believe that this method is needed for both the main character, the main villain, and

many of the side characters as well.

You don't want to just create one good character and ignore the rest.

You need all of them to be just as good.

So take a look at what is your character's defining traits, and well, maybe their really

strong willed, maybe their incredibly- when they set their mind to something they will

do it.

But what if their perception is slightly skewed?

Okay their really strong willed, and when they set their mind to something they do it,

maybe sometimes that's really good, but what if they set their mind to something that

not everyone else thinks is good.

A character with good strengths and good weaknesses with a good balance is fantastic and you've

got to remember that it's got to weave into the story.

Your character's weakness has to affect the direct outcome and it has to counteract their strength

at times.

Step number five.

What are their relationships like with the people around them?

Their families, their friends, their acquaintances, their romantic interests.

Are they a loner?

Are they a social butterfly?

Start looking at how they feel about their family members, why they feel that way.

Again, we're going back to that important question, why are they like this?

This is all about building their back-story, so you understand why they behave the way

they do in your book.

Maybe your characters, when they meet new people, they're really friendly but they don't

trust them.

Maybe they'll be the friendliest, kindest, chattiest person around, but they're not

going to trust these people for years.

Why is that?

Maybe they were scorned by someone who they trusted too easily, too readily, and suddenly

they were betrayed.

So it's all about knowing who they are.

How they interact with people.

That's what you're here to develop.

So, finally, point number six.

This is where you finally start looking at what your character looks like.

As you've gone through the other steps , you should have realised that

a back story's starting to form, a personality is definitely there.

Your character is going to start having a reason why they do things, and you want to

be using this to create their looks.

For example, my protagonist, he's fairly paranoid, he doesn't trust people easily,

he pretty much always wears his armour.

And he spends a lot of his time out in the wilds, so it's quite dirty.

I'm not just creating an appearance and trying to build around that, I'm building

an appearance based on my character.

As he's an exile he doesn't want to stand out too much, he just wants to be a scruffy

looking, travel worn adventurer or wanderer sort of thing as opposed to the exile that

he is.

And he doesn't want to reveal who he is too easily.

If you want advice on describing characters, I will be making a video on that topic at

some point in the future.

If you are in the future, I will have linked it in the cards and in the description below.

Otherwise just keep your eye out, it'll be here at some point.

So, there you have it.

You've got a pretty well formulated character.

Go and put them into your world, let them run around and cause havoc and generally just

break your story because I find that's what my characters like to do.

They don't do what I plan… well I don't really plan that much.

If you've liked this video, go ahead, check out my Facebook page, my website, I'm in

a Writer's group which I'll put a link to in the description and give me a like,

comment, subscribe.

Tell me what you think of the video, tell me about your main characters, and I shall

see you, next week.

Let's look at someone else.

Say…

[Insert favourite curse]

I can't think of anyone.

How have I read so many books and can't think of anyone?

So look at how people deal with others is a great way of getting an insight into who

they are and what their experienceseseses is… pretty sure I said too many "S's"

there.

What is a Tabata Workout? Longmont Chiropractor explains how you can workout in 16 minutes. - Duration: 4:58.

- Hi gang,

I'm Dr. Jay from New Leaf Chiropractic

and Family Wellness,

and I want you to meet the workout Tabata today.

So Tabata was actually developed by a Japanese researcher

and Dr. Tabata.

And I always thought it was like Tabitha or something

or why they put this in here but it's actually Dr. Tabata.

And what he figured out is that 16 minutes of work,

high intensity work,

actually in the study group,

got better results than like an hour,

people who were just kind of doing mediocre,

long distance type workouts.

So my wife went to the gym the other day.

She's likes, ah, I don't really know if I can go.

I've only got 30 minutes.

And oh perfect, 30 minutes,

that means use Tabata right?

So what's a Tabata workout?

Tabata means exactly 16 minutes of work.

And just like this suggests,

you're basically going to be repeating this 30 second cycle

where you're doing 20 seconds of work

and then 10 seconds of rest.

The formula, you multiply that times eight.

So you're going to pick four different workouts to do.

My four favorite and most frequent done,

air squats and I'll demonstrate these.

Air squats, something core,

pull-ups or some version of pull-ups, and push-ups.

So you're getting a pulling group in,

you're getting a pushing group in,

you're getting a core group in,

and you're also going to be getting some leg work in.

So ah, okay,

20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest.

And you're going to do that eight different times.

And you can do that for four different movements total.

Right, so you're going to have four minutes of work,

of air squats,

four minutes of work, push-ups,

four minutes of work, up the next.

And then the core exercise for a total

of 16 minutes of work, it's really just that easy.

I recommend just starting, well with a running clock.

There's lots of apps that you can download also

that are called Tabata

that as you run towards seconds

and then there's a beep to rest for 10 seconds.

And then it beeps again

and you can even start another workout.

So the way this works is just 20 seconds.

So your air squats, I start with air squats first.

And then rest.

And then you do it for a second time,

20 seconds and then you rest.

When you get done with all eight

then you go to your next one.

My most frequent one is a push-up.

Common push-up, hit the floor.

You have to make sure your chest hits the floor.

If you're doing this like this,

your chest does not hit the floor,

drop to your knees, there's the scale.

Floor, lock up,

floor lock up.

This does not count.

If you can hit the floor and do a push-up.

I'd much rather you do four regular, good push-ups

than cheat and go from your feet.

Alright, so we did push-ups,

we did air squats.

Pull-ups, you're just going to grab a bar.

If you can't do a proper pull-up,

what I've done with a couple people,

we stack weights at the gym

so that you can do a jump and pull.

And it doesn't have to be far but you need

to get your heart rate up.

And again you're going to do that for 40 seconds.

And then the last one is something core.

Most frequently,

regular sit-ups type things can work

but there are a whole bunch of variations.

Regular sit-ups just look something like this.

Touch the floor behind your head,

touch between your toes, one.

Two.

Buyer beware here.

If you're doing these guys

you can develop little strawberries

at the top part of your butt cheeks

and have really uncomfortable showers

for the next week.

So sometimes I'll actually just lean back a little bit

on the left butt cheek,

and then go over to the right side.

So use that in those muscles

and adipose tissue as kind of a buffer.

Some gyms have these little,

c-shaped things which will take some

of the pressure off your back.

If you can't do a proper sit-up,

bridges are fine,

either from your knees

or all the way up to your toes.

And right, so you'd be 20 seconds on and then rest.

And then 20 seconds on and then rest.

So find the exercise that works best for you.

There's no one exercise that you have to do.

The idea is to get four different movements

and those four movements can be just like.

If you're getting really advanced with this

and you don't necessarily love the air squats,

if you've got some weights.

Grab some five or some 10 pound weights.

Hold them in what's called a front rack position

and then you can just go ahead and do those.

This does not count as a squat.

So if you're doing these things

we're going to ask you basically you should

that you can hit the floor.

Don't hit the floor, sorry.

Hit all the way to the bottom

unless there's like knee problems or knee issues.

With all these things,

I'm out of breath just from doing that.

With all these you want to make sure

that you're doing within your comfortable level

and if it hurts, if you've got back pain,

or something, or neck pain when you're doing these,

call a time-out, do something else.

If you have any specific questions

about the Tabata workout,

go ahead and pass a note.

Thanks gang.
