With all the twists and turns it can be hard to keep up with the case, but here's what we know so far:What happenedChicago police confirmed they were investigating a possible hate crime against Smollett

The said that in the early morning of January 29 he was attacked by two people who were "yelling out racial and homophobic slurs" and "poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim" in the Streeterville neighborhood where he had been staying while filming his hit TV show "Empire

" Read MoreSmollett took himself to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he and a friend spoke with CNN's Don Lemon and confirmed the incident had happened

He identifies as gay and since 2015 has portrayed the gay character of Jamal, a successful singer in the musical Lyon family on his show

20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment offered their support after the reported attack

"We are deeply saddened and outraged to learn that a member of our 'Empire' family, Jussie Smollett, was viciously attacked last night," a representative of 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment said in a statement to CNN

"We send our love to Jussie, who is resilient and strong, and we will work with law enforcement to bring these perpetrators to justice

The entire studio, network and production stands united in the face of any despicable act of violence and hate -- and especially against one of our own

"Hollywood and fans ralliedAlmost immediately colleagues and fans of Jussie Smollett expressed shock, sadness and love for Smollett

"Empire" creator Lee Daniels posted his support on his official Instagram account

"We have to love each other regardless of what sexual orientation we are because it shows that we are united on a united front," Daniels said in a video

"And no racist f*** can come in and do the things that they did to you. Hold your head up, Jussie

I'm with you."More details start to emergeChicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told CNN authorities had video of Smollett entering the Lowes Chicago after the alleged attack with what appeared to be a noose around his neck

According to Guglielmi Smollett told detectives during his walk back from Subway sandwiches, he was attacked by two men near the lower entrance of the Lowes

The actor told police the two men yelled "'Empire' fa***t" and "'Empire' n***er" while striking him, before putting a noose around his neck and pouring an unknown substance on him

Police were called 30 to 40 minutes after the attack took place, Guglielmi said.Investigators said they had both the rope and Smollett's sweater in their custody and were testing for the unknown substance on them

We also learned that Smollett and his manager Brandon Moore said they were speaking on the phone at the time of the attack

'Persons of interest' A day after the incident, Guglielmi tweeted that Investigators had located a surveillance camera that showed two people wanted for questioning

Police released an image of two individuals walking down a sidewalk. Their faces were not visible

Police told CNN they had not yet found still images or video of the actual incident

Smollett's family respondsSmollett is the member of a large family that includes several siblings who are also in the industry

The family released a statement standing with the "Empire" actor and thanking everyone for their support after what they called an act of "domestic terrorism

""Jussie has told the police everything from the very beginning," the statement said, "His story has never changed, and we are hopeful they will find these men and bring them to justice

"The letter Guglielmi told CNN that a letter containing a white powder was received on January 22 at Cinespace Studios in Chicago where "Empire" is filmed

"The prompted a response from the hazardous materials unit, he said.Guglielmi said authorities determined the powder to be aspirin, but he declined to give details on the content of the letter and said the FBI was leading the investigation into it

A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox Entertainment, which produces the series, declined to comment when reached by CNN

Possible witness?A neighbor who lives in Smollett's apartment building told police she saw a "suspicious man" who had what appeared to be a rope outside the building, Guglielmi told CNN

The unidentified neighbor also told police she saw another man in the vicinity of the building

Detectives met with the woman and took her statement, Guglielmi said.Smollett breaks his silenceThe actor thanked his supporters the Friday after the attack and said he was OK

In a written statement first published by Essence magazine, Smollett said "My body is strong but my soul is stronger

""I am working with authorities and have been 100% factual and consistent on every level," Smollett wrote

"Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served

"'I can't let attackers win'Smollett performed his first concert since the attack at West Hollywood's Troubadour club on February 3 and tearfully talked to the audience about what happened

"I had to be here tonight, y'all, I couldn't let those (expletives) . win," he said

"Above all I fought . (expletive) back."He also clarified his injuries, saying he was bruised but his ribs were neither cracked nor broken

Hesitant to report the incidentAccording to a redacted Chicago police report obtained by CNN through a FOIA request, Smollett was initially hesitant to report the attackThe report included details such as Smollett's descriptions of the alleged attackers' clothing and mentioned details previously released by authorities, including what the alleged attackers said to Smollett

Smollett's first TV interviewOn Thursday "Good Morning America" aired its interview with Smollett talking to Robin Roberts about what he says happened

He said he was "forever changed" by the incident and was "pissed off" by both the attack and the doubt that has been cast over his story

Smollett shared details about his attack. He told Roberts one of the attackers said "'This MAGA country n****r' and he punched me in the face so I punched his a** back

""It feels like if I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot much more," Smollett said

"And that says a lot about the place where we are as a country right now."He also said he respects victims of hate crimes too much to lie about what happened

The star theorized that he had been targeted because of his vocal criticism against Donald Trump and his administration, telling Roberts, "I come really hard against 45

"'Empire' connectionOne of the two men investigators questioned as persons of interest in the alleged attack has appeared on Smollett's series, Guglielmi said Thursday

Guglielmi had said earlier on Twitter that "the people of interest are alleged to be in the area where a crime was reported

They are not considered suspects at this time."The two men are Nigerian brothers and were questioned by police after flying into Chicago-O'Hare International Airport from Nigeria on Wednesday evening, Guglielmi said

Police said they searched the men's apartment earlier. CNN's Sandra Gonzalez, Ryan Young, Darran Simon, Amanda Watts, Christina Maxouris, Dakin Andone and Paul Vercammen contributed to this report

So You Think You Know: OWL CITY? (Part 5 - The Tip Of The Iceberg / Vanilla Twilight / Tidal Wave) - Duration: 6:26.

Oh yeah here we go and the anticipated follow up to fireflies he's like what am I gonna

put after that killer well why don't I just continue with what I was doing before like

getting as close to the mike is possible without putting it into your mouth and whispering

the lyrics oh man I have never heard this song before and I've listen to this album

before but yet I've never heard this song before what kind of ice world are you guys

building oh we're going somewhere with this one here we go sports fans oh well see but

that's brilliant songwriting there Because I thought I was gonna have an exciting dance

party but they were like no we've got more story to tell you God would it kill him not

to hold his notes with such boredom is there three people singing on this song let's

go this is an album that brings people together why aren't there sleighbells in this song

it's about icebergs and snow this is Santas domain Adam why didn't you capitalize on

it can you see me there it goes we've peaked the tip of the iceberg but wait what's that

it's a sick beat what kind of an ice world are you guys building is this song good I

feel like I'm losing it how many songs are there in this song this is like the third

time they've changed it up this song has like four acts that's what that sounded

like to me except more intimate I felt warm what would I rank this one I haven't used

black yet it's got to be between six and seven out of 10 I'm feeling so I think it's

gonna have to be

you know I thought this song was just about winter and skating it still is how many songs

are left oh

This is one of the special ones this is another one that just keeps you coming back for more

it's another smash for Adam this one is he just kills this one also have you seen

the music video shaq is In it and Adam is in the sky delivering on to us the good word

of the Lord I don't know if I've had a chance to talk about this yet but did you

know that Adam Young is like incredibly religious like that's one of the most special things

about this special man is that he lives in his parents' basement and he's extremely

religious and he's a very successful singer songwriter I don't feel so alone you know

I think I might need to turn up the volume again because the song has such a climax it's

magical here we go the key change in this one the key change changes you I'm so excited

here comes It's beautiful it's just a beautiful song I think it's better than

fireflies I think it's better than every song I have to give it a nine because that

will only lower the legacy of the bird and the worm to give something else at 10 you

know

So when he says as many times as I'll blink I'll think of you tonight does that mean

he's thinking of her every time he blinks or does that mean he's going to be sleeping

And just doing one big blink and therefore he's thinking of her in his dreams this

album just offers so much to dig into and just give yourself over to

Oh yeah that's a loud one good god this one just punches you right in the sack right

out of the gate his autotuned singing like right into your ear sockets Adam you could

learn something from your co-singer here from Relient K like listen to how he doesn't

drop the end of his notes all the time or notes you know I think I'm ready for this

one to be over at least it's over at least it's over quickly it's over pretty quickly

in fact god what do I rate this one like 5 1/2 six like 5 1/2 I'll say That's a nice

lyric actually like genuinely alone on the outside so tired of looking in but then he

counters it with I don't need a telescope to see that there's hope so perfectly balanced

as all things should be

QUESTIONS ABOUT CANADA | WHY ARE CANADIANS SO NICE? | CANADIANKELSEY - Duration: 3:02.

I get questions all the time about Canada because I am Canadian Kelsey and today I am answering

some of your questions.

(Intro) I put a post on my instagram story asking

you guys what you want to know about Canada because there is so much to know about Canada

as it is such a big country as there is so much to do, so much to see, so I am answering

some of your questions.

Why are Canadians so nice to foreigners?

Because it is not to be nice.

It doesn't make sense to be mean.

Umm...

I guess in my opinion you always want to be nice to everybody that you meet because you

never know how that person may be able to help you down the road or maybe you are going

to be like best friends and you don't know if you just are outright rude to them first

off.

So, I don't know, I am just always nice to people, I just try my best to be nice.

Umm.. yeah.

I guess it's not, maybe it's not a common thing in every country to be nice to the foreigners,

I don't know.

(Laughs) Whenever, I travel, people are nice to me so it -- you know, people know that

Canadians are nice, so then they are nice back to us.

It just makes sense.

I don't know.

Can you explain Boxing Day?

Umm...

Boxing Day is the day after Christmas, so it's December 26th and it's basically the

one day of the year where the entire store is on sale.

So it's everything from past seasons, everything from that year.

So, you know, we are in 2019 now, so on December 26th, 2018.

Everything from 2018 is on sale.

Why you generally want to go on Boxing Day is because they have door buster deals, so

it's really fun, I think.

People love to get deals, umm, if they didn't get something for Christmas they are going

on Boxing Day to get it.

Umm, you know, because people can have extensive lists, so, I don't know, I guess it is just

like something that the industry decided that like 'hey, all of the gift giving is done

for the year so if you want anything else, here's an extra day of stuff for like 90%

off' and you are like ' oh,okay, I will come shopping'.

That is basically Boxing Day.

Thank you for checking out this video, hit the subscribe button and that thumbs up button,

hit that notifications button so that you know when my next Canada Questions video is

coming out and I'll be seeing you next time, bye for now!

How to roll the Hilleberg Rogen door - Duration: 0:54.

As with all Hilleberg tents, when rolling the door on the Rogen,

you want to make sure that it doesn't drag in the dirt,

and that it is secure so it won't fall down or get in your way.

Grab on to the metal ring at the corner of the door

and hold on to it, while you loosely roll

or even better, fold the door fabric.

Make sure you keep the metal ring as far down in the fabric bundle as possible.

As you get closer to the pole, roll the door tighter,

again keeping the metal ring as low as possible,

and then secure the bundle with the loop and toggle.

You're quiet these days

Did you change your hair?

Did you do your nails?

But why do you say that I've changed?

FELIPE ANDERSON SO FAR IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE | Has he been worth his £35m price tag? - Duration: 12:13.

You alright everyone? Welcome back to the hammer and talk YouTube channel. I've

come to do a video on Filipe Anderson. Now I did a poll on my youtube channel

if you have a look at it now, basically before I do every single video I'm going

to put a poll up on now because I want to do exactly what my subscribers want on

YouTube so you know if you want to get involved you'll need to go to my YouTube

channel and vote on those polls okay from now on going forward that's what

I'm gonna do I'm gonna go with a majority vote now and again I might

throw a surprise out there and go for the least most popular one you know just

as a random but generally I'm gonna go for what everybody wants okay so anyway

let's speak about Felipe Anderson that that was the auction that one on that

poll there was quite a few options of my funniest moment so far this season

my worst part this season my worst moment this season there was a la those

five or six options to choose from the Philip Anderson is the one that won and

I want to get into this I really really do because a lot of people do say what

do you think about Phillipe Anderson because I haven't actually done a video

properly specifically on him since he started be no playing for us and that

should be give my faults on him as an individual so I'm gonna do that right

now so Philip Anderson let's take it all the way back I think it was June or July

I think it was July the 15th he signed for West Ham United 35 million pounds

from Lazio. When when we got linked with him I thought to

myself you know what, he's too good because I've heard his name way too much

before outside of the Premier League For him to have a part

of West Ham. and part of me was a little bit like well if we don't get him

then you know we don't game you know I don't know but I felt like at that time

we were so in need of a defender I felt like I still rather Balbuena over him

this and believe it or not and I know now in hindsight they they seemed just

as important as each other you know Anderson is just as important as Balbuena

owner about winner if not even more important than Balbuena, but the bottom

line is and you know Anderson for me I'm gonna say overall before I get into it

over I think Anderson has definitely been worth the £35m

million pounds that we spent on him I think he's definitely worth that money

and I think at first he really really struggled and I think a lot of fans

would agree on that, that he seemed to get off to a really really poor start he really

struggled with the pace of the Premier League you know some people were saying

no is it gonna happen for him there was little flashes of brilliance from him

from time to time but it felt like every time he did play it felt like he just

wasn't getting to grips with it he was getting bullied off the ball and he

wasn't being able to shield it properly his little tricks and flicks they

weren't coming off you know that he wasn't doing it quick enough on Burton

off the mark and well I can only imagine that he was used to the Italian league

where they're a little bit slower on their feet you know they're not as quick

as it's the premier league it's not as pasty so I think he learned a lot very

early on at West and I think he had to and and and I think especially well you

got people like Mark Noble around you and that you know telling you

exactly what you need to do it won't be long until your performance you know you

stop performing too you know how your level and the quality that you have got

inside and it clearly came out I think it was about six seven games in you know

Anderson really started coming to his own started to really dominate the

midfield doing these flashes of brilliance really making a mockery of a

lot of players he's so skillful is it's it's flair is

just fantastic and and I hate to mention this man's

name and you know I'm gonna mention in the same video as this with Anderson but

he does remind me so much of Payet and it's it's a good thing and it's a bad

thing because it's a bad thing because I feel like the memories that we've got

with pay you know what he did you know the way he win and I think that will

always be wrong with us to the core that's West now fans and you know is

what he's now you know I'm glad that were over there over that whole saga

with payer but the way he moves on the ball his balance his Flair the way he's

got so much control and he he just does the same fingers as Dmitri does he like

sits back on his shoulders and he just goes you know he's got such good balance

and it seems like he's so hard to get off the ball now I mean if you watch

that that game just before fishes for Christmas the panas game I can one God

he absolutely owned it and what her goal what a phenomenal strike that was

brilliant brilliant strike from Anderson and I don't know I just feel like the

more this guy plays for us I feel like the more he's worth this money and what

is he 25 25 years old he's got plenty of time he's got plenty of time in this

team and I can't do mention he's going to retire at West Ham although I would

love him to retire at West Ham you know I can't see it happening not in this day

and age but I would love him to stay as long as possible I really really would

and I just love the way he's got the book when he's got the boys just got the

option you know he does little reverse passes he jinx one way then moves over

he goes in between two players he goes outside of the wing he can pick up

beautiful pass out love to switch wings does the reverse pass in it doesn't it

will flicks over the ball as well we just thought fixed the ball over like

little observer a player to pass through another one absolutely but it's just a

shame Lee's got you know people like gente Islam I'm not dissing there a lot

Canadians I love fun and easy you know I've got I've got a soft place tomorrow

for an endless but some of the misses he's done this season but could not

Arthur Anderson say might be fing him Anderson won't just be on four assists

this season you know he'd probably be up to eight to ten by now and Anderson this

side dish this season has scored nine goals

I think it's nine he's up to nine and if it's go up on the lake up and eight in

the Premier League he's played 30 games and he scored nearly 10 goal nearly 10

goals so it's basically one every three games he's scoring and and and I think

they're so impressive for a player you know the plays in that position and and

he's playing for where's Ben I mean I'm fully aware we're not the greatest team

on the planet right now or we've ever pain but I just I just

think that he's getting better and better and better and I'm just saying I

think you know what if the if our owners do reinvest this money or get some money

in again and push more money in it the beginning of next season

I mean who stuff what kind of players are going to be playing with Anderson

next season you know we never know especially with these new exciting

players that are at Western for this season you know who else knows what and

what players the Pellegrini can bring you I mean I'll never know about y'all

Malenko properly before he came I really didn't beat me on Malenko and I'm he's

injured and stuff in there now but he was British been brilliant it's been a

really really good addition to the squad and I mean if even even the existing

players are people like I'm Antonia that was really really down having a real

tough time now look him you know I feel like Pellegrini is really really

controlling this squad really will I don't know we'll just come off

practically two draws and been knocked out of the cup but just just I'm up this

is just my opinion yeah I mean used feel free don't you want in the comments you

know say as you like and you know how you feel this has been going down but

full up into green is really starting to get hold on this squad it's you know

solid in 10th place and and like so much is to do if I think Anderson's

contribution I think I think I think it does go under the radar a little bit but

I think he still gets a good amount of recognition I just don't feel like he

gets enough recognition I think I think he's brilliant every time is on the ball

it is a stage with pea you kind of got on your feet you do you like okay what's

his options where is it gonna go is it gonna go you know and and you're waiting

for the players to get into those positions for him to do that damage in

pass or two or two you know to open that create that little bit of space make

that dummy run to it you know to really make our Tech's dangerous I'm gonna go

on what I think now Anderson's value is in this transfer market I think given

this season has been really successful for him individually and nothing as a

team effort because you know us us not struggling in the league it's a big

success in my eyes especially given the previous few seasons we've been really

panicking about that relegation zone and by the way I know one actually million

miles off the relegation zone and but you know I'm quite confident and I'm

quite sure that we're going to be safe and not get relegated and without no

crazy stuff going on for the rest of the season they vent an absolute you know

shock in poor run I think we're pretty much safe but I don't know I'm just

really really happy about this Anderson he's part of West Ham and

he wants this as far as I'm aware he wants to stay here I've known no badness

about Anderson I didn't have a trailer I've lost my trailer for my original

point but and I am I'm very happy how he is he doesn't seem to be one of these

players that is very vocal on social media or does certain things and like

certain posts and and says certain things are cryptic

he seems very very just you know if an interview comes I'll do the interview

you know and and he'll get on with it he won't go out of his way to say some

things or get involved in posts and I like that I like quiet players you know

players that just get on with their thing they're no trouble just crack on

with it you know and and and I'm thankful he's a Western player I really

really am oh yeah I found my fault I found my trailer for the money how much

money I believe that Anderson will be worth right now well that's a B he

carries on giving this to the end of the season what let's say continues to play

and let's say he scores those on schedule and he scores 13 goals

for the season and guest at seven assists let's just say it's something

like that they say carosone go him I would say personally his market value

would be about 45 million pounds I think he would have added 10 million hands on

top of his market value you know with a successful you know just keep going as

he is because that would be a successful first year in the Premier League and I

think he will attract other clubs about wanting to obviously I want to keep

these good players at West Ham but the inevitable happens people and four

players playing brilliant if he's playing above everyone else and he's

he's got Grayson he's got star when he's got Flair

he's got charisma when he's when he's got that ball and you know he's got

attitude and you know things are gonna happen he's going to get attention

unfortunately this is well out of our control no one could do anything about

this you know great players get get nervous that's Harry's and I feel like

Anderson that pay s level anywhere near at the moment he's he's absolutely

fantastic and he is definitely you know in that region of being able to get

there but he's not there you know he's just not this there's still plenty of

Why Macadamia Nuts Are So Expensive | So Expensive - Duration: 3:18.

Macadamia nuts are the most expensive

nuts in the world.

Considered a high-quality dessert nut

because of its rich, buttery flavor,

macadamia nuts are a popular treat

and a trendy import in countries like China

and the United States.

A one pound bag can cost around $25,

which is almost twice as much as other nuts, like almonds,

and they've been breaking price records year after year.

But why are macadamia nuts so expensive?

The main reason is the slow harvesting process.

While there are 10 species of macadamia trees,

only two produce the pricey nuts,

and it takes seven to 10 years for the trees

to even begin growing the nuts.

The flowering trees originated in Northeastern Australia,

and the nuts were eaten by the Australian aboriginal people.

They called the trees "Kindal Kindal,"

but British colonists eventually renamed them macadamia,

after Dr. John Macadam.

Despite originating in Australia,

macadamia trees were first commercially grown in Hawaii.

Hawaii has the perfect climate for the trees.

They need lots of rain, rich soil,

and warm weather to thrive,

which means regions that don't meet those requirements

have to import macadamia nuts all the way from places

like Hawaii, South Africa, Latin America, or Australia.

And because it takes the trees

anywhere from four to six months to flower,

the nuts all mature at different times of the year.

They're only harvested five to six times a year,

typically by hand.

Their thick shell, often removed before sale,

makes it difficult to tell the ripe nuts

from the unripe ones, making the harvesting process

more work-intensive and costly.

Macadamias have become increasingly popular

because of their high fat content.

With 20.9 grams of fat per pound,

they contain more fat than any other nut,

which is why people used to think

macadamia nuts were unhealthy.

In reality, the majority of that fat

is 100% cholesterol free, and contains palmitoleic acid

which can improve your metabolism

and help your body maintain healthy levels of insulin.

Each nut is made up of 80% oil and 4% sugar.

The high fat and low sugar content

makes macadamia nuts ideal for many healthy eating

and weight loss programs, including the keto diet,

which cuts carbs while emphasizing good fats.

Last year, the price of macadamias broke records again.

In Hawaii, nut-in-shell macadamias started the season

with their highest net farm value ever,

at 100 cents per pound,

and ended the season with a new record high

of 110 cents per pound.

The farm value on Hawaii's macadamia crops

is estimated to be worth $53.9 million.

Meanwhile, countries like China,

who import them on a massive scale,

are now working on growing their own harvest

because of how valuable the nuts are.

However, for the time being,

the demand for macadamia nuts outpaces the supply,

which drives up prices.

But the global macadamia supply is expected to increase,

thanks to countries like China planting macadamia trees.

Now, China is set to produce half

of the global macadamia crop by 2022.

Exporters worry that a bubble

in the global macadamia industry is about to burst.

If that happens, macadamia nuts may no longer be

the most expensive nuts in the world.

My legs.

Oh, my God, my legs were broken.

Now they're not broken. What is happening?

Fuel in the tank.

Listen carefully, Eddie.

We need Carlton Drake's rocket.

You remember him.

How do you even know about that?

I am inside your head.

You are a loser, Eddie.

Are you gonna eat anybody else?

Most likely.

Why are Young Conservatives so Weird? - Duration: 3:47.

It didn't take long for Turning Point UK

hailed as the nationalist right's answer to Momentum

to descend into a chaotic crab-barrel of mutual recriminations

parody accounts and even Hitler apologia

Needless to say, the internet and Left Twitter in particular

was absolutely loving it.

If only there was some German word perhaps to describe

the pleasure one feels at another's misfortune.

It was only 18 months ago that Activate

remember hashtag retweet, hashtag meme

imploded after a mere 2 weeks in the public eye

after members got caught talking about gassing chavs

and a charming imposter found his way

onto the Novara Media sofa.

And this all got me thinking

why is it that conservative youth organisations

always turn out so…

weird?

Back in the 1980s, the Federation of Conservative Students

whose former chairmen include David Davis

and strangely enough, John Bercow

considered themselves a bulwark against socialism's

pernicious influences in UK universities.

If Margaret Thatcher considered herself a 'dry' Conservative

the FCS were positively desiccated

they were vocal supporters of extremist rightwing guerillas

in Nicaragua and Angola

and printed the now notorious

'Hang Nelson Mandela' posters

They ended up getting disbanded by Norman Tebbit

in 1987, after their entryist antics

saw them getting branded

as the right wing equivalent of Militant

It's tempting to see Turning Point UK

as just another baffling flub

in a long and rich history

of rightwing youth organisations taking things

a bit too far

But I think there's something else going on here

because unlike the FCS, who had relatively little overlap

with their Reaganite counterparts

Turning Point UK is utterly inseparable

from the American alt-right

Their gatherings have been swanky Trans-Atlantic affairs

featuring that now-infamous Q&A

in which Candace Owens appeared to defend

Hitler's domestic policy

also involved is prominent Trump donor

and noted conspiracy theorist John Mappin

who so far has remained tight-lipped

about the organisation's funding sources

And while Turning Point UK

say their ambitions are to energise

a student movement across the UK

their advertising focus has skewed stateside

A Facebook ad ahead of their launch wasn't seen

by a single soul in Britain

Instead, all the targeted views were in

Texas, Ohio and London Borough of California.

Their American cousins, Turning Point US

don't seem to be that bothered by

the student engagement bit of their mission statement either

none of their paid-for adverts on Facebook

are targeted at anyone under the age of 24

Instead, their core audience is aged 45 and over

The weirdness of conservative youth organisations

isn't just the inevitable consequence of

swimming against the current of your generation's values

All that bombastic talk of Cultural Marxism

and campus snowflakes isn't intended

for the millennial ear anyway

They're not actually trying to be the new Momentum

their role is to rile up economically secure

but culturally anxious baby boomers

to normalise reactionary ideas and extreme electoral patterns

They're establishment-backed astroturfers

dressing up as grassroots social movements

and most of them have graduated bloody ages ago anyway!

This isn't counter-culture

it's classic counter-revolutionary strategy

Only now, with memes.
