Pena Nieto Snubs Trump Tells White House Won't Attend Meeting, Peso Tumbles.

by Tyler Durden.

Things just got more "complicated" in US-Mexican relations, when on Thursday morning the feud

between the US and Mexico deepened after president Pena Nieto said he cancelled a planned summit

with Donald Trump over the US presidents insistence that Mexico pay for his proposed

border wall between the two countries.

This morning we have informed the White House that I will not go to the meeting scheduled

for next Tuesday with POTUS, Enrique Pea Nieto tweeted in Spanish.

The fresh deterioration in diplomatic relations between the US and Mexico came after the US

president tweeted earlier on Thursday that if Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly

needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting.

The US has a 60 billion dollar trade deficit with Mexico.

It has been a one-sided deal from the beginning of Nafta with massive numbers of jobs and

companies lost, Trump added on Twitter, underlining his determination to renegotiate

the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Pea Nieto had initially resisted heavy domestic pressure to cancel the meeting with

Mr Trump.

Mexican foreign minister Luis Videgaray told local TV station Televisa on Wednesday for

now, the meeting is still on.

Instead, Mr Videgaray had sought to take the sting out of a potentially highly damaging

diplomatic dispute, highlighting some very encouraging signs from Mr Trump and his

team and an outstanding willingness to work together, despite what he said had

been a day of contrasts.

After canceling his trip, Pena Nieto added that his still wants to work with the US,

and reach accords.

Vicente Fox, the former Mexican president, stoked the flames in cruder terms in a series

of tweets.

Donald, dont be self-indulgent.

Mexico has spoken, we will never ever pay for the #F**kingWall, he tweeted on Thursday

morning.

And just like that NAFTA may be over.

And the peso is plunging...

With Vicente Fox whining that Mexico "won't pay for the f**king wall," and Pena Nieto

confirming "Mexico does not believe in walls," President Trump just double-tweeted exactly

how our southern border 'friends' will end up paying for the wall or else!...

Did Trump just give Pena Nieto an out for next week's meeting?

We suspect not as the angry tweet seems to have cornered Pena Nieto into a decision.

As a result of the Trump tweet, the Peso has tumbled erasing all the day's gains...

The tweet comes after Mexicos president on Wednesday once again declared that Mexico

will not pay for any wall but stopped short of cancelling a visit to Washington after

Donald Trump signed executive orders that include building the border barrier.

Enrique Pea Nieto reiterated that Mexico would not put a single peso towards the new

US presidents signature project.

In a televised address he said: I regret and reject the decision of the US to build

the wall.

I have said time and time again, Mexico will not pay for any wall, Pea Nieto

told the nation in his short video statement on Wednesday night.

Mexico reaffirms its friendship with the people of the United States and its willingness

to reach agreements with its government.

He left up in the air the question of the 31 January meeting with Trump in the White

House saying his decision would depend on an evaluation by a team already in Washington

and officials at home.

While the costs of "building the wall" are largely unknown, estimates have been made

by both political parties...

Mexico now finds itself in a double bind, squeezed not only by Trump, but also by its

partner Canada, which as we reproted last night, has left Mexico on its own.

Recall that Canada will focus on preserving its U.S. trade ties during talks to renegotiate

NAFTA and may not be able to help Mexico avoid being targeted by the Trump administration,

Canadian government sources say.

"We love our Mexican friends.

But our national interests come first and the friendship comes second," a source said

on the sidelines of a cabinet retreat in Calgary, Alberta.

"The two are not mutually exclusive," the source added.

In other words, when it comes to preserving NAFTA, it's important, but what is more important

is being on good enough terms with Trump to be able to cobble together a bilateral treaty

should NAFTA fail.

As Reuters reports, the comments are some of the starkest yet by Canadian officials,

"who are increasingly convinced Mexico will suffer the most damage from changes to the

North American Free Trade Agreement."

Reuters' government sources note Mexico and Canada would appear to have little in common.

Trump is unhappy about the large U.S. deficit with Mexico and has promised to punish firms

with manufacturing bases there.

"Our negotiating positions are totally different.

Mexico is being hung out of an skyscraper window by its feet," said a second government

source."Mexico is in a terrible, terrible position.

We are not," said another Canadian person involved on the trade file.

Nieto just may have to pay for that wall after all.

Mexico's president cancels U.S. visit over wall row - Duration: 1:00.

Mexico's president has announced that he will cancel a planned trip to Washington,... amid

a row sparked by the question of who will pay for a border wall.

The cancellation came as the spokesman for President Trump said the U.S. will seek a

tax on goods imported from Mexico and use the revenue to build the barrier.

The White House added that other options were on the table.

President Trump on Wednesday signed an executive order to build the wall.

He insists Mexico will foot the bill - which Republicans say could be twelve to 15 billion

U.S. dollars.

After learning that the Mexican leader had pulled out of next week's summit, President

Trump said the meeting would have been "fruitless" if Mexico didn't treat the United States "with

respect" and pay for the wall.

President Trump will hold talks with British Prime Minister Theresa May in Washington on

Friday.

It's his first summit with a foreign leader since his inauguration less than a week ago.

IT'S TRUE U S FARMERS WERE CAUGHT SECRETLY FEEDING CATTLE RED SKITTLES HERE'S WHY - Duration: 7:14.

ITS TRUE: U.S. FARMERS WERE CAUGHT SECRETLY FEEDING CATTLE RED SKITTLES. HERES WHY

By KALEE BROWN.

You may have heard the rumours spreading on social media claiming that Skittles are fed

to American cattle. You may not have heard that they have been verified, and defective

Skittles are in fact often used to feed animals on factory farms. Those same animals are slaughtered

to make your beef, meaning that if youre a beef eater, you may be inadvertently consuming

sugar.

How the Skittles Secret Was Exposed

This subject gained a lot of media attention after hundreds of thousands of Skittles were

found all over the Dodge County Highway in Wisconsin, having fallen off the back of a

transport truck overnight. The heavy rainfall caused the boxes to break, allowing the Skittles

to fall over the road. Pictures posted online show that the Skittles are missing the trademark

S, although they are clearly the classic Skittles branded candies. Strangely, all of

the Skittles found were red.

The local police reported that the Skittles were on their way to feed cattle. Dodge County

Sheriff Dale Schmidt stated that a local farmer, whose identity is being withheld, told him

that using defective Skittles as cattle feed is common. Mars, the company that produces

Skittles, has already confirmed that the candies found on the ground were Skittles and that

they were deemed unfit for human consumption. This begs the question: If they didnt

make the grade for human consumption, how can they be safe for animals to eat? (Theyre

not.)

Mars Corporate Environmental Manager, Linda Kurtz, explained that the company sells discarded

candies and other ingredients to processors that then use them to create animal feed.

Although she said that Mars doesnt sell directly to farmers, and its procedures are

in line with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, its clear that Mars was aware

that their candies are used to feed animals.

Why Feed Animals Defective Candy?

The simple answer is because its cheaper than corn (watch out, Monsanto!).

As CNN reporter Doug Criss explained, A former farmer told CNN affiliate WBAY that

candy makers and bakeries often sell rejects to be used as cattle feed because they provide

cheap carbs.

advertisement - learn more And this isnt a new practice. Apparently

farmers started to use random food scraps decades ago, though there was a significant

increase in this behaviour in 2012 when corn prices skyrocketed and local farmers were

looking for cheaper alternatives, which sadly includes candy.

The U.S. Animal Legal Defense Fund actually has a list of foods that can be used as cattle

feed that includes cookies, marshmallows, ice cream sprinkles, breakfast cereals like

fruit loops, gummy worms, chocolate scraps, taco shells, refried beans, cottonseed hulls,

rice products, potato products, and peanut pellets.

Whats even scarier is that many farmers and livestock nutritionists claim that these

discarded candies are equally as nutritious as corn. Ki Fanning, a livestock nutritionist

with Great Plains Livestock Consulting, explains, (It) is a very good way for producers to

reduce feed cost, and to provide less expensive food for consumers.

If Skittles are as nutritious as corn, and theyre essentially cancer-causing, chemical-filled

candies, what does that say about the corn? Practically all corn grown in the U.S. is

genetically modified (GM), as approximately 90% of corn crops are GM, which poses numerous

health risks. Corn is hidden in pretty much everything, from cakes, breads, and cereals

to sodas and even meats.

Its no secret that GM crops pose a serious threat to the environment. So, perhaps youre

thinking that Skittles and other discarded foods would be a great alternative to GM corn

feed and, at the very least, it would prevent the Skittles from ending up in a landfill.

Unfortunately, in reality, using candy as cattle feed may do far more harm than good

to the environment.

A 2012 study published in the Journal of Dairy Science studied the environmental effects

of using high-sugar grasses to feed cattle. The study determined that this practice can

actually significantly increase methane emissions, which means that feeding cattle high-sugar

candies would have the same effect, or potentially even worse.

The Problem Here Is Much Bigger Than Skittles

Yes, its scary to think that Skittles are in your food, but thats only a small part

of the problem here. Farmers are only using Skittles and other high-sugar, chemical ridden

products because they cant afford to use anything else. Monsanto has completely monopolized

the entire farming industry, from pesticides to seeds, so numerous small farms are going

out of business because they cant afford to buy seeds or feed.

In regards to the environment, even if using high-sugar feed increases methane emissions,

animal farming already accounts for 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Cows

produce 150 billion gallons of methane per day and livestock is responsible for 65% of

all human-related nitrous oxide emissions (source). Eating animals is not an environmentally

sustainable option.

Skittles arent the only thing going into animals bodies that should concern you.

Farmed animals are pumped with antibiotics, hormones, and other chemicals, and meat and

dairy products thus contain these items in addition to puss, blood, mucus, and other

substances your body is not meant to consume.

Harvard University found that even eating small amounts of red meat, especially processed

red meat, on a regular basis has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke,

and dying from cardiovascular disease or any other cause in general.

Certain meats are also known to cause cancer. Numerous studies have proven that replacing

animal protein with plant protein is not only healthier for your body, but it could even

reverse the harmful effects of eating meat (source). You can read more about this in

our CE article here.

Eating meat once served us, as it provided our ancestors with the means to survive. However,

now that we understand the immense environmental and health risks of producing and consuming

meat, its no longer needed. We know that consuming animal products is of a low vibration

and that simply cannot serve us if we want to raise our collective consciousness and

lead society toward a better future.

U.S. government scientists go 'rogue' in defiance of Trump January 26, 2017 - Duration: 4:41.

U.S. government scientists go 'rogue' in defiance of Trump

Employees from more than a dozen U.S. government agencies have established a network of unofficial

"rogue" Twitter feeds in defiance of what they see as attempts by President Donald Trump

to muzzle federal climate change research and other science.

Seizing on Trump's favorite mode of discourse, scientists at the Environmental Protection

Agency, NASA and other bureaus have privately launched Twitter accounts - borrowing names

and logos of their agencies - to protest restrictions they view as censorship and provide unfettered

platforms for information the new administration has curtailed.

"Can't wait for President Trump to call us FAKE NEWS," one anonymous National Park Service

employee posted on the newly opened Twitter account @AltNatParkService.

"You can take our official twitter, but you'll never take our free time!"

MORE FROM REUTERS * Trump may reinstate CIA 'black sites': U.S.

officials * Commentary: Cisco pays fantastical price

to capture unicorn

The @RogueNASA account displayed an introductory disclaimer describing it as "The unofficial

'Resistance' team of NASA.

Not an official NASA account."

It beckoned readers to follow its feed "for science and climate news and facts.

REAL NEWS, REAL FACTS."

The swift proliferation of such tweets by government rank-and-file followed internal

directives several agencies involved in environmental issues have received since Trump's inauguration

requiring them to curb their dissemination of information to the public.

Last week, Interior Department staff were told to stop posting on Twitter after an employee

re-tweeted posts about relatively low attendance at Trump's swearing-in, and about how material

on climate change and civil rights had disappeared from the official White House website.

Employees at the EPA and the departments of Interior, Agriculture and Health and Human

Services have since confirmed seeing notices from the new administration either instructing

them to remove web pages or limit how they communicate to the public, including through

social media.

The restrictions have reinforced concerns that Trump, a climate change skeptic, is out

to squelch federally backed research showing that emissions from fossil fuel combustion

and other human activities are contributing to global warming.

The resistance movement gained steam on Tuesday when a series of climate change-related tweets

were posted to the official Twitter account of Badlands National Park in South Dakota,

administered under the Interior Department, but were soon deleted.

A Park Service official later said those tweets came from a former employee no longer authorized

to use the official account and that the agency was being encouraged to use Twitter to post

public safety and park information only, and to avoid national policy issues.

Within hours, unofficial "resistance" or "rogue" Twitter accounts began sprouting up, emblazoned

with the government logos of the agencies where they worked, the list growing to at

least 14 such sites by Wednesday afternoon.

An account dubbed @ungaggedEPA invited followers to visit its feeds of "ungagged news, links,

tips and conversation that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is unable to tell you,"

adding that it was "Not directly affiliated with @EPA."

U.S. environmental employees were soon joined by similar "alternative" Twitter accounts

originating from various science and health agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration,

the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the

National Weather Service.

Many of their messages carried Twitter hashtags #resist or #resistance.

An unofficial Badlands National Park account called @BadHombreNPS also emerged (a reference

to one of Trump's more memorable campaign remarks about Mexican immigrants) to post

material that had been scrubbed from the official site earlier.

Because the Twitter feeds were set up and posted to anonymously as private accounts,

they are beyond the control of the government.

Shia LaBeouf Freed After Arrest For Alleged Assault | Splash News TV - Duration: 1:21.

[He will not divide us!!]

Shia LaBeouf is a free man!

That's the actor leaving police custody after allegedly getting into a physical altercation

with a guy at his anti-President Trump protest.

Shia has set up his "He Will Not Divide Us" protest camera in New York City where

the New York Post's Page Six reports that Shia allegedly grabbed a the scarf and scratched

the face of a man before pushing him to the ground.

Shia was arrested at 12:30 a.m. for suspicion of misdemeanor assault and harassment.

The reported victim did not need medical attention and apparently remained at the scene when

police arrived.

His loyal followers obviously trailed him to the precinct and waited in the cold till

his release.

[He will not divide us… he will not divide us.]

This apparently stems from Shia's public art-project, which allows people to state

that "he will not divide us" into a camera…

According to the Associated Press, Shia says it's not anti-Trump, but instead, "anti-division,"

and the goal is to encourage people to "be nice to each other."

We're not sure if Shia's actions are particularly "nice," but we're sure he'll be back

out there again soon to continue his message.

Shocking Teacher Teaches Us! - Duration: 10:25.

Hey everybody! It's Adventure Family! It's Me Ra and Brian, and we are so excited

to take you back to Egypt!

Yes! We're going to Aswan today.

Kids, say that with me.

That is so ridiculous. No, grow up!

We're going to Aswan because this is a

really cool place where the Nubians are.

The Nubians live along the banks of the

Nile. And they are one of the oldest

people groups in Egypt. Living there for

almost 3,000 years.

Yeah, and the best part about this culture

is that the men take pride in being the

cooks and then playing the drums and

singing afterwards because it's not

enough just to cook. You need to

entertain us to afterwards.

That's right! I'm cooking you dinner Me Ra, and then

afterwards I'm playing my drum!

We're going to dance so much because I'm a MAN!....Yeah!

So we go into this classroom which is epic!

This is a classroom unlike any other one.

It's one of my most favorite moments as a family

traveling. (Brian) Me Too. This is...

looking at what we filmed, I was... it's pretty intense.

It's probably the most intense classroom

of little kids, or adults, or adults or anybody,

I've ever been. It's awesome though!

We can't wait for you to see it! From there

we do a photo shoot of all the different

doors and colors that the Nubians have

and then we do a special project that we

were filming for Sony and Target. So we'll

show you a little bit of that... (Brian) Well enjoy this experience in Aswan.

(theme song begins) I'm off to see the world.

It's a beautiful day. You only get one life, don't let it slip away.

Let's take the world. There's so much to discover.

We'll hang on to each other.

Let's risk it all. Darling take my hand.

We'll make a change of plans.

What we don't know now,

we'll find out when we get there.

It's all part of the adventure.

(new song) It's a perfect day for the roads.

The blue sky will take us home.

We'll take it easy.

We'll take it slow.

It's a good day for the road.

And time goes so fast

When you're with the ones you love.

(Nubian children practicing Egyptian Alphabet and English Numbers 1-10)

(Call to prayer begins on speakers)

(Everyone must be quiet.)

(Call to prayer ends and back to school.)

(Pascaline) WOW! (Me Ra) Look at this!

Blaze, go up to that black line again.

One, two, three!

C'mon, this is the BEST day of your life.

(laughing) It's the best day of your life.

Okay guys, I've got to just say it.

When we walked into this classroom,

and saw our teacher of this first grade class, she's not who I was expecting at all.

I was expecting a first grade teacher, sweet lady, and I think she was a very sweet lady.

But I was not picturing her to be dressed the way she was.

When we saw her with her with her all black garb and only showing her eyes, and she had black gloves on,

I was nervous. When I've seen photos of people dressed like that it's usually associated with things that scare me.

I was really confronted with being a little afraid and judging and she turned out to be a very

sweet lady. She picked up one of the kids and was teaching them their 1,2,3's. She was so patient with

them. Way more patient thank I would be with a classroom like that.

(Blaze) That's not hard. (Brian) But it was intense for me.

(Me Ra) She was amazing.

I just remember how cute the kids were. And it was so funny because we're all in like t-shirts, shorts and we're sweating.

And one of the kids actually, you'll notice, has ear muffs and like a ski jacket on.

And I'm like, you're so adorable, but how are you not dying of heat?!

They had coats on, pants on, I don't even know if they had gloves.

But they were decked out. (Me Ra) It was their winter.

Like my watch was making my wrist sweat.

And they have snow jackets on.

It was crazy. (Pascaline) But the kids were really cute!

So did you guys even notice that the teacher was dressed in all black?

What did you think? You were eight years old.

Did it make you nervous? Or was it just interesting? Because you haven't grown up seeing...

It was just there I feel like. It was interesting.

It wasn't like the usual thing,

but I actually don't really know what the usual thing is

because I'm homeschooled. (Brian) Maybe the teachers in America dress like that.

For all you know, all teachers are dressed in black!

The Last of Us: A Revolutionary Game - Duration: 3:43.

The Last of Us holds a special place in my heart.

It seems so realistic to me,

Back when I played it,

That I had to remind myself, again and again, that this was just a game.

Today, I'm going to be talking about the Last of Us.

I've played this game on the PS3 earlier,

But I played the Remastered version again on the PS4.

What I say about the story is that Joel, in general, went through a lot.

I felt that if he cared about someone or something,

It wouldn't do any good to him.

But after he met Ellie,

He slowly began accepting the fact

that Ellie wasn't just cargo he had to ship.

He could see a bit of Sarah in her.

Sarah was his daughter who he lost in the beginning of the game.

Before the zombie apocalypse started.

In the end of the game, Joel was selfish.

But in the selfishness of a person who cared.

He got Ellie out, no matter what.

He'd give up anything to let Ellie live and be safe.

He'd even risk his life for her.

And she was the only thing important to him.

From what I learnt throughout the game,

Was, maybe the fireflies weren't even correct.

Maybe the cure would never, ever be made.

If you've played the Last of Us, there was one part, where one of the Fireflies scientist said in a recording,

That the Fireflies would have 'cycles' every year.

The Fireflies were so hellbent on trying to find a cure,

That when they found out Ellie was resistant to the infection,

They just wanted to cut her head open and make the cure.

And the 'cycle' just proved that there would be a rare- there would be a few rare people,

Who were immune to cordyceps, the disease.

And when might've tried to make a sure, they must have failed.

So there was a real chance that they'd never, ever find a cure.

And Marlene... I couldn't even process what she had done.

She knew Ellie personally.

Yet, she felt no regret knowing that they'd tried to find a cure many times

And basically, that she was just killing Ellie off?

And the sadder part was that she didn't even tell Ellie, that she'd die from this procedure.

And I can even prove it, that she'd didn't tell Ellie.

Because, before, when they went into the hospital

Towards the end of the game, there was a short conversation which Joel and Ellie shared.

Where she asked Joel to teach her how to swim, after all this was over.

And Joel was more than willing to.

And this just proved that Marlene didn't even think of telling Ellie that she'd die after this.

The Last of Us, was a story of growth and I loved it from the beginning.

I was a bit confused as to why Joel lied to Ellie after all the 'drama',

But I soon understood why.

Joel had lost his daughter, Sarah, and like I said,

He wasn't the one who'd open up his past.

And with Ellie, he just dug deeper into the old chapters of his life.

He had replaced Sarah with Ellie, and just like I said before...

She was the only thing that mattered to him.

HOW TO DATE STRAIGHT - Duration: 3:18.

upbeat intro music

Mm, not enough likes

Delete. (rough voice) You'll never be good

enough!

Who're you talking to?

(normal voice) No one.

Okay great, talk to me, because I need

your advice.

Ok. If it's less than 10 likes in

10 seconds it's a delete.

Not about Twitter, about heterosexual

dating.

Go on. I'm even worse at that.

Well as you know I'm now single,

as in, without a primary partner, as in

in the wild, as in, bisexual and-

Wait-wh-you're bi- (gagging sounds)

You finished?

Never.

Ok, great. I'm thinking about getting back

into the world of straight dating.

I've met a man.

So what? You bone men all the time.

Ah but this is different, I like this one.

You have romantic attraction to a man?

I thought they were just warmer dildos.

He is a warm, long dildo. But he's also

funny and cute and bisexual too.

So why are you talking to me

instead of having sex in public?

Well, he's a friend's ex and I was

wondering..no stop it.

(rough voice) You asked for it.

(groaning)

I regret everything.

Straight people cannot date other

straight people's exes.

The following 90 minute lecture

accompanied with a visual aid

will explain why.

Before you waste my entire life

can I just say that in the

women loving women world

it's actually encouraged,if not expected,

for you to date each other's exes.

Ew. Why?

Limited supply. It's hard out there

to find other queer ladies to mack on.

So no queer lady would begrudge

another queer lady the chance.

Sometimes we even set each other up

with our exes.

Well in the straight world that is

unheard of and disgusting.

Yeah I thought it might be.

If anyone I've ever dated so much as

speaks to anyone I've ever met

I want to wage the kind of war that

spans decades and destroys national

budgets.

Ew. Why?

I don't know Gaby.

Maybe we're less evolved

maybe the dating pool is

too large. Either way there are only

a certain set of circumstances where

this sort of thing is acceptable.

I wasn't going to get to it until 45

minutes in but I'll jump ahead.

In the straight world, you may date

another woman's ex if, one,

she has died. End of list.

Come on!

Fine, but the other examples are fringe

and not widely accepted.

That's fine, I'm fringe and not widely accepted.

(scoffs) In the straight world

you may date another woman's ex

if, two, they were never public on any

form of social media. Including snapchat.

Three, she broke up with him-

Oh! Well-

I'm not done. She broke up with him

at least 3 years ago. And has never

thought about him since. Even in a dream.

How could I possibly know if she's thought

about him in a dream?

Exactly. That's why that rule is

widely discredited. I shouldn't have

even mentioned it. What if i just call

this very reasonable girl and

ask her if she's okay

with me dating her ex?

Get your head out of your ass Gaby.

This isn't the lovey-dovey, feel good

world of queer dating. This is the

cut-throat, heteronormative shit the rest

of us have to deal with.

Great, then why don't I just date

him in secret until she's married or

engaged to someone else?

Now you're thinking like

a straight person.

upbeat outro music

(Allison whimpering)

What happened?

(Allison sighs)

My high school crush liked my

college enemy's photo on Facebook

so now I have to spend the entire night

trying to figure out how they know

each other, and if they've had

intercourse.

I'm so glad to be queer.

Really is a privilege.

upbeat outro music

This is a (sneezes) nightmare!

Gaby (from other room): Bless you!

China Just Issued a Nuclear Warning to Donald Trump and the United States - Duration: 4:08.

China Just Issued a Nuclear Warning to Donald Trump and the United States.

by James Holbrooks.

(ANTIMEDIA) Beijing Following comments made by White House spokesman Sean Spicer

on Monday in which he said the United States would absolutely protect its interests in

the South China Sea, the Asian superpower has fired back through its state-run media

going so far as to suggest China should beef up its nuclear arsenal in the face of

Donald Trumps presidency. As reported by the newswire service Agence-France

Presse (AFP) on Tuesday, In recent days, Chinese social media has carried pictures

purporting to show an advanced intercontinental ballistic missile system deployed in the Northeast.

That missile system, the Dongfeng-41, was described by Chinas state-run Global Times

in a Tuesday editorial as a nuclear solid-fuel road-mobile system with a range of 14,000

kilometers and a payload of 10-12 nuclear warheads that can target anywhere in

the world and is widely considered one the most advanced intercontinental ballistic

missiles. As AFP notes, the Times itself suggested the

images of the Dongfeng-41 may have been leaked to social media by the Chinese military, the

Peoples Liberation Army, as a warning shot at Donald Trump.

On Monday, White House spokesman Sean Spicer appeared to echo the line taken by Rex Tillerson,

Trumps choice for secretary of state. At his recent Senate confirmation hearing, Tillerson

raised eyebrows when he suggested the United States should block China from accessing its

artificial islands in the South China Sea.

Saying The U.S. is going to make sure that we protect our interests there, Spicer

went on to state: Its a question of if those islands are

in international waters and not part of China proper, then yeah, were going to make sure

that we defend international territories from being taken over by one country.

In response, Chinas foreign ministry gave a statement in which it reiterated its unchanging

position on its claims of sovereignty. Calling those claims irrefutable, spokeswoman

Hua Chunying said the United States is not a party to the South China Sea dispute

and that China wants the U.S. to respect the facts, speak and act cautiously to avoid

harming the peace and stability of the South China Sea.

Meanwhile, the nations state-run media was suggesting it was time to strengthen its

nuclear capacity. However the images of the Dongfeng-41 system

were obtained, China certainly isnt backing away from the opportunity to flaunt its military

might, and the Times editorial as more and more are beginning to do is very plain

and unapologetic in its wording. Stating the U.S. has not paid enough respect

to the Chinese military, the piece further suggested that:

Chinas nuclear capability should be so strong that no country would dare launch

a military showdown with China under any circumstance, and such that China can strike back against

those militarily provoking it. A military clash with the US is the last thing China

wants, but Chinas nuclear arsenal should be able to deter

the US.
