Hey, this is the Daily Overpass, my name is Eric and I make apps!
Now today, I wanna talk about the difference between Apple and Google for app developers.
Ok, so this morning I decided once again to do the video outside, to go for a little drive
and pull over to the side of the road before I head into the office.
today I wanna talk a little bit about the differences between Apple and Google for app
developers.
I've already established this week that I am upset with Apple because they rejected
another app.
I've done so many apps with them, it's just something I expect! When I submit an app to
the App store, I think it's like a 50 50 percent chance of it actually going through these
days!
It's ridiculous, it is absolutely ridiculous the way it is.
And I started thinking about...I thought I would talk about the differences between the
Apple app store and Google play for new app developers that are just getting into this,
so you know what to be prepared for.
And I think, the biggest thing between Apple and Google is the mentality, which is that
Google wants me to be there.
Google wants app developers.
The more apps Google can have, the better.
They'll reject it if you break the rules, if they find that you're doing something wrong
they will take it out because you're damaging the platform, but Google wants you to be there.
To Apple, the app developer is almost a nuisance.
This may be unfair, I'm sure if I had Angry Birds or some big million download apps, they
might be a bit nicer to me but this is just the way I've always found it.
One of the things about Google is I'm constantly getting contacted by Google with new events.
At one point I remember, when my first app was getting quite a few downloads, they contacted
me and said "hey, we would like to give you a consultant, put a consultant on you so we
can talk a little bit about how you can improve ad performance", and that was my first talking
with an AdMob representative.
Not everybody gets this, there are probably hundreds of thousands of app developers, I
don't know what the actual stat is, so they can't see everybody but they are.
They do want you to be there.
They're always improving the Google Play platform, they're giving you lots of reporting tools.
Now the app store is improving too regularly, but not the same amount.
I have so much trouble with Apple that I never got the impression that they actually want
me to be there.
I feel like they tolerate me.
They tolerate me as an app developer, they say "we have an app for that, we have all
these apps on the app store" - they like to talk about how many apps there are but to
me, I might be jilted, but anybody who's ever used iTunes connect versus the Google Play
developer console knows that there's a better focus on developers on the Google Play developer
console, and the iTunes connect is just a terrible user experience.
If you're an Apple fanboy, you might disagree with that but that is just definitely my opinion.
What do you guys think?
I know a lot of people who watch this channel are Android only developers, but the reason
I buy this stupid iPhone, which I don't actually want - I'd rather have the Pixel 2 as my day
to day device - is because I need it to test iOS 11 applications.
My other test phone no longer works.
So I'm fully in, I have to spend money on an organisation that I just....I am buying
stuff from a company that doesn't like me as a developer.
That's the way it feels.
I might be a bit jilted, let me know what you guys think.
If you just do Apple stuff, you might think it's a great user experience, if you do Apple
and Google play, for me I've always found Google Play to be a much better developer
experience.
It's not just because they don't do reviews - if they did reviews I think they would be
better at it!
And of course because they don't do reviews, Google Play is so much more crowded.
Like I said, apps never die, they just sort of fade away.
A good app never dies, it just fades away!
Whereas on Apple , if you don't renew your developer account like if it's just not worth
it, they go away, they upgrade to iOS 11, and if you didn't keep up with it they go
away.
So Apple is very good at culling the old stuff.
But you know, I guess it's just my opinion.
Let me know what you guys think!
If you develop for both, do you find this?
Do you find that Apple tolerates you and Google Play actually wants you to be there?
Because that's the way that I've always thought of it, and that's the way that it seems to
me.
So anyway, that's it for today, I'll talk to you guys tomorrow!

Google Home Updates and New Google Home Products for April 26 2018 - Duration: 4:59.
Hello everyone, thanks for tuning in again. Now if you're expecting a combined
Amazon Echo or Alexa video here with Google home you're not going to find
it this week. We actually had some comments from some of our subscribers.
One of them, Kevin, actually said you know what? This breakdown doesn't make
sense for me. I only want to pay attention to half of the content when
you're combining those two product lines so you know what I'm going to take his
advice here. That's part of me listening to what you guys are saying on the
channel. I'm going to go ahead and I'm going to split out these two devices. So you're
watching the Google Home or the Google Assistant version of our new products
and new features related to the Google home. So the first thing I want to talk
to you about is if you had another smart home device like an Alexa or an Echo
device. If you've had one of those, you've already been able to control Ikea's smart
home devices or smart home lights, rather. Now those IKEA, and I'm just going to
butcher the name here, Trådfri or Trådfri or whatever they're called. Those
devices are relatively cheap by comparison to a lot of other smart home
lights. So it's a big thing to say that Google Home can now control those lights.
It has now shown up in the app that IKEA puts out for those lights that you can
go ahead and integrate with your Google home. Alright, so in the past we've seen
LG produce a number of series of smart home appliances essentially and you know
they've been dancing around this for a while. They've been integrated into the
IFTTT platform but they've never made themselves available to be
controlled through one of the smart home hubs. Well, that's changed this week.
Their ThinQ brand of appliances is actually available on both your
Google home and if you have an Echo or an Alexa enabled device you can control
them through that as well. Now, this is something just to think about for the
future the Sonos One speakers today, they only have Alexa on them, but we've been
told that the Google Assistant will show up on that device at some point. What I
can't tell you is with whether or not the old Sonos Ones or the ones that are
selling today will have Google Assistant on them. Regardless, what I'm going to
tell you is that Sonos is selling Sonos One speakers in a number of colors
and they're relatively striking colors. There's a red, there's a yellow, and there's a
green. They're very bright, they're very vibrant, and you know if we start to get
that Google Home on there, that Google Assistant on board, the Sonos One...well
that's going to be a pretty interesting product for you to have gone out and
picked up. Now what Sonos is saying is these are only available for a
little while. They're kind of doing a test here. For those of you in Canada
like me. CTV, BNN, TSN, those are some pretty big news sources so for those of
you in Canada those channels or those news sources are now available on
the Google Home as sources of news. You can pick them when you ask Google to give
you your news update. Now one of the great new series' out there on Netflix is
called Lost In Space. There's a lot of people enjoying this series and so
Google Home, you know they've really been paying attention to
recent events or live events and so when they have a series like Lost In Space go
really big, what they've gone out and done is produced a couple of things for
you to do within your Google Home. There are a couple of special keywords
that you can actually use with your Google Assistant or your Google Home to
start the Lost In Space series on Netflix, if you have a chromecast or
another casting type device in your home. The other thing
you can do is actually startup a choose-your-own-adventure style game based on
the Lost In Space series and you can just play that through your Google Home.
Alright well there we go. We're going to wrap up the Google Home new
products and new features video. I hope this video has helped you out. Now of course I
have this new format, it's always great to hear from you guys how this has gone.
If this is as good as the previous format, if this is a change you like to
see, or if you want me to go back and recombine those two: the Echo and the
Google Home back into their own single video here. So anyways everyone thanks
for watching we'll see you next time.

How To Edit Google Sheets - Duration: 14:14.
Hey welcome back to the Six Figure Mastermind. There are a few key things
that every business needs. Google sheets is one of them and we're going to go deep
into how to edit your Google sheets today. There's a few key things you want
to take some good notes on. In fact pull up another browser screen, so you can
edit right along with me. Stay tuned.
Alright, it's time to get into Google sheets. The days of Microsoft Excel are
still alive and well but Google sheets is one that's going to be much more
convenient for you when you're trying to share information between two people. If
you're using a software on your computer then you're going to have you know uploads,
and downloads and you're going to have some lag time between when you need to talk
to people and when you need the information. Google sheets solves all of
those problems and they can do most of the thing Microsoft Excel can do much
faster and much easier. So what I'm going to have you do is I'm going to have you open
up a brand new browser either over here or over here or top or bottom wherever
you want to go, I would recommend left or right though. The thing you're going to need
for Google sheets account is a Google email account. So if you don't already
have one, get one. Okay I'm gonna walk you through Google sheets the beauty about
Google sheets though is that even if you don't have a gmail account, you can still
edit and make adjustments to your Google sheets. You know if you want to produce
them you're going to have to have an account, but if someone sends you a
Google sheet and wants you to contribute to that, you don't have to have a gmail
account to do that. Super cool. So if you've got your browser window opened,
one side or the other open up your Google sheets page. If you've got a gmail
account, you can go up here. I'm going to show you my page right here. You can go
up here to this little nine block square and you can find your Google sheets in
there or you can just go to docs.google.com or Google Drive. Google
is really good about redirecting you to where you want to go. Their interface is
amazing. Okay so let's go to a brand new Google sheets. You've got your sheet set
up here and if you want to start at a new sheet, you totally can. I'm going to use
a pre-existing one just to kind of show you how to edit and use the text boxes
and things like that but if you wanted to open up a new one, there's templates
that are pre-made for you. Check out this template gallery. You've got so many
different kinds of templates. You can do a calendar, schedule, you can do pros and
cons you can do a team roster, wedding planner. All of these different kinds of
documents that are... produced what so cool about this templates is that the formulas are pre-built in. So
for example, if you had a a employee shift schedule and there was
hours that needed to be calculated, you could just put in the hours and the
formulas would already be in there so you don't even have to do any of the
legwork. It's pretty awesome. Okay so let's go to a document that I've already
started and I will show you how to edit this document. Now this is a document
that I have with my my friend. We do some jewelry together on the side. We sell in
a consignment store and we needed to track what products were going to the
store and we needed to track how many of those products, the price of those
products, the codes of those products and all of that needed to be in a readable
document. Okay so we put it all in here. Now I have this document. You can share
it with another person but this is one that I already have shared with my
girlfriend Coleen, and we have this document shared. So anything that I do on this
document, she can see on this document. Live as it's happening right away and in
fact it's kind of fun when you and your collaborators, have your
document. All on the document at the same time you can kind of see who's doing
what and where and buy different colors and things like that. So this is you know
a very very helpful tool. One of the things that's super helpful in Google
sheets, is a common thread and you can do this in Google Docs or Google sheets if
you open up this comment thread, then you'll be able to have a conversation
and it'll be left stuck right with the document. So if I were to say, "hey I'm
adding a comment here." I'm editing this live on my YouTube channel now. If I were
to leave that comment on there, Coleen would be able to see that
comment is there and she could comment back and I could read her reply and it's
just like a living text message that just sticks right with the document. And
the comment is attached to this cell because this is the cell that I had
clicked on. Now check out this little yellow flag over here. This little yellow
flag is where all of those comments for that cell will be stored. So that's
pretty important to know. Okay I'm going ahead and resolve that
and that will make that comment go away. Now let's talk about editing this Google doc.
Now there's some really cool things that you can do. It's a Google sheet excuse me,
not a Google Doc. Pretty cool things you can do. Let's say that I needed to have
this row stay in place. So right now when I move this toggle switch right here if
I drag this toggle switch this way, then it's going to not show me the furthest
rows to the left. So if you're trying to freeze a column, emerge cell as part of that
columns, watch what happens. So I've got this title cell up here that has
limitless treasures consignment items and this sell is technically one ABCDE
and F all of those cells are in one. And if I click on this little... if I right
click over here or a triple click if you're using a Mac,
and I click this little icon and try it and drag it over, that's going to want to
freeze the column. But watch what happens, there was a problem. Sorry you can't
freeze columns which contain only part of a merged cell try to break apart the
merge cell or freeze more columns to include the complete or merge cells. Now
in my case, this merge cell pretty much covers all of my data. So I'm going to
want to unmerge this cell right here. tThe way I'm going to do that is, I'm just
going to click on the cell and click this little highlighted box right here.
This little highlight box with the arrows pointing toward each other, this
is the merge cell box. And if you ever want to know what anything is, just hover
over it and leave your mouse there. It's going to give you a description. So if I
unmerge the cells, it's going to take this back over to a-1 rather than ABCDE and F 1 and it's going to
take this and make it available. So if I were to triple click or three-finger
click rather and it's going to highlight this little block for me and I'm going to
drag it right over here. Boom! Now watch what happens. That cell, that column is
now frozen in place. So when I go to move this slide bar right over here, check
that out that data stays right there. And this is really super helpful if you've
got a list of clients and maybe you're taking attendance at
your events or maybe you've got their information lined up over here and
you're using maybe you're using Google sheets is kind of a CRM - customer
relationship management software. It's really helpful to know which client
you're dealing with when you're looking through all of the columns of their
information. So freezing cells is something I use in almost all of my
google documents. Just to help me have this easier interface setup. Okay, so I'm
going to go ahead and unfreeze that cell and I'm going to re-merge. So I've got
this text in this cell right over here on the left and I need to highlight all
of the cells that I want that cell to merge with. So I'm going to click this
hold down, the shift key and then click all the way to the other cell. And then
check this out. When I go up here I'm going to click merge cells. Boom! Very super
super handy. Now Google sheets is great because if I don't like something that I
did, I can just click this rewind or undo button and watch what happens.
And it'll remember my steps so if I click undo several times it's going to
remember my history. The same with the redo button. I can say, "oh actually didn't
want to do that. I'm going to re-do that. Google sheets will remember your history
of the adjustments and the edits that you've made. So keep that in mind. Okay
we're just going to walk through this task bar real quick here. If this is your
print feature that's going to work with air print or direct line printers. This is
the paint format. I never use that. I wouldn't worry about it.
Your zoom, this is just going to not affect how things look on the paper but
it's going to have effect how things look on your screen so I just typically keep it
at 100 percent. Okay, right over here you can format your columns as currency. So
if I were to highlight this column right here and I said I want that to be
formatted as currency. I could click on that. Okay that would format everything
in that column as currency. Now if I were to do it in this column, watch what
happens. I've got letters and numbers in there. It's not going to want to do it
for me because obviously that's not a currency form. Okay, I can also format
columns as percentages. So if I were to put in you know... I have another column in
here. Let's just for example say I want to add a column. I'm going to right click.
Use two finger, click insert one to the left, I can add a column. Let's say I
wanted to put some numbers in here. Now this is auto formatted at a dollar
amount but watch what happens when I highlight this column and I format it as
a percentage. It takes it to a percentage and I can double check and make sure
those percentages are where I want by editing it right here in this top bar. So
I could say, "I don't want a thousand percent. I want 10%. Okay you can
make all of those adjustments right there. Okay so I'm going ahead and delete
this column by right-clicking or two finger clicking and then hitting delete
column. Beautiful. Okay so you can decrease or increase decimal places.
There's more formatting options. If you just surf right through here, number,
percent, scientific, accounting, numbers, percentage, financial currency, date, time
date-time format, duration. Lots of other formats. Date and time formats and
currency formats are probably going to be the ones you use most often. And of
course you can change the fonts and these as well. If you highlight one or
click shift and highlight all, that's going to change everything that's
highlighted. So if I change that to this font, that's what it's going to look like.
If you change it to this font and that's what its going to look like and
remember if I don't like it, I can just go back and hit undo. Undo, to get it back
to normal. So the primary thing to remember when
you're working in Google sheets is that your sheets are going to be edited by
the cells that are highlighted. So remember if I'm changing font type or
size or bold, italic, strikethrough, colors or highlight colors, even borders. It's
all going to depend on which cells are highlighted. Now most of these, if you
walk through them they're extremely self-explanatory. If you want your
horizontal alignment to be the left, it's gonna look like that if you wanted to be
centered it's going to look like that. If you want it to be to the right, it's
going to look like that. Okay, remember it's by the cell that's highlighted. A
vertical alignment. This is going to align my cells vertically or the text in
my cells vertically. Okay so if you click here either with your mouse or with your
trackpad and drag that down, watch what happens.
I've got my vertical alignment, I can make it at the top. I can make it at the
center or I can push it all the way down to the bottom. Now the reason it's moving
that entire column is look but the entire row rather is that the entire row
is highlighted. I highlighted this row. Okay, I can make it just by one cell by
clicking on a single cell and simply doing the same thing. Okay so I'm going to
go back, put that where I want it. Very very good. You can also rotate your text.
So let's say you want your text to spilled down the column vertically, you can use
this text rotator tool to do exactly that. You can make your text go at an
angle, you can make your text go vertically, just spell it down. You can
make your text go to the side, like the spine on a book. Any way that you want.
You can even turn a 90 degrees if you want or 75 or whatever you want it to be.
Okay so I'm going to... I don't typically need to use that, but it is available. Okay
again you've got hyperlinks. Here's another cool thing about Google sheets.
is that you can insert a link. So let's say if I wanted this bracelet to go to
my website. Let me just show you what this looks like right here. So I've got
my website right here this is someone else's website that I'm just using
borrowing right now and if I wanted to link that, I could copy that web link and
put that as a link right here so anything in that text box is going to go
to that website. So when I click on this text box,
look it shows that website, right there right above the box. Super handy if
you're sending this and sharing this with your colleagues. Okay we've walked
through a majority... Again you can insert comments, you can insert graphs and
charts, you can insert filters, you can insert functions, all of that. We just
want to walk through a basic editing of your functions bar right here. Google
sheets, if you spend any amount of time with it, you're going to find more and
more more and more you can do with it. Primary
things you need to know. You can edit, you can rewind, you can fast forward in your
edits. It keeps history for you. You can add comments, you can share those
comments with anyone that has access to that sheet and you can share this sheet
with anyone on or off Google. Very comprehensive you're going to love it for
your business. Don't be surprised if you find yourself using Google sheets for
everything. Seriously it's one of the best platforms I have found out there.

Google opposes repeal of Clean Power Plan - Duration: 0:54.
Google has filed a comment with the Environmental Protection Agency in support of Obama-era
clean-power rules.
In October, head of the EPA Scott Pruitt said he might completely roll back the Clean Power
Plan, which is currently on hold.
The plan would require states to reduce their carbon emissions and the government to offer
states incentives for investments in renewable energy.
Environmental groups denounced the decision, saying repealing the plan threatens public
health and the environment.
But critics argued the rules are federal overreach and hurt coal jobs.
Now, Pruitt and the administration say repealing the plan will "facilitate the development
of U.S. energy resources."
Google told "The Verge" it thinks the Clean Power Plan will encourage states and businesses
to invest in renewable energy.
Google isn't the only company opposing the rule change; Apple filed a comment with the
EPA earlier in April.

BREAKING News Out Of GOOGLE…
BUSTED!!
NOT HIDING ANYMORE!!!
New research shows just how much Google's search manipulation affects voters when making
decisions.
During the 2016 election, it was obvious that Google manipulated searches to favor Hillary
Clinton while showing disproportionately negative stories about Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.
And now we know just how effective all that had been, and it almost left us with Hillary
as president.
Hillary Clinton may have lost by a substantially larger margin had Google not manipulated the
search results in her favor.
Even trending negative searches about the corrupt democratwere suppressed.
According to an exclusive by Breitbart, the conclusions are based on 16 months of experiments
conducted with a total of 1,800 people from all 50 U.S. states.
Participants in the study came from diverse ideological backgrounds, including liberal,
conservative, and moderate.
In order to control prior biases, participants were asked to judge political candidates that
they were unfamiliar with. The research showed that the manipulation of results pages in
search engines can shift the voting preferences of undecideds by anywhere between 20 and 80
percent, depending on the demographic –meaning Google was attempting to rig the 2016 election
for Hillary Clinton.
The voting preferences of participants who saw no search suggestions shifted toward the
favored candidate by 37.1%.
The voting preferences of participants in the search suggestion groups who saw only
positive search suggestions shifted similarly (35.6%).
However, the voting preferences of participants who saw three positive search suggestions
and one negative search suggestion barely shifted (1.8%); this occurred because the
negative search suggestion attracted more than 40% of the clicks (negativity bias).
In other words, a single negative search suggestion can impact opinions dramatically.
Participants who were shown four negative suggestions (and no positives) shifted away
from the candidate shown in the search bar (-43.4%).
-Epstein, Mohr, & Martinez, The Search Suggestion Effect, 2018
Led by Dr. Robert Epstein, the researchers concluded that by using this method of manipulation,
search engines can shift a "50/50 split among people who are undecided on an issue
to a 90/10 split without people's awareness and without leaving a paper trail for authorities
to follow."
Meaning the real collusion during the 2016 election was not between Trump and the Russians,
but was between tech giants and their propaganda scheme and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
It is no longer a conspiracy theory that Google is manipulating people.
Just look at the heavy amount of manipulation in Google's "suggested" searches in
comparison to those of Bing and Yahoo.
The researchers suggested that the search suggestion manipulation made against Google
during the 2016 election when the tech giant appeared to be suppressing negative search
suggestions for Hillary Clinton while allowing negative suggestions for Donald Trump and
Bernie Sanders to remain. This is not a coincidence, especially when considering Google was the
Clinton campaign's largest corporate contributor.
Google employees, including at least six high-ranking executives, donated more than $1.3 million
to Clinton's 2016 campaign.
Call it censorship or manipulation, but the truth is…Google attempted to rig the election
for Hillary Clinton by manipulating searches and suggestions, and therefore, voters minds.

demographic –meaning Google was attempting to rig the 2016 election for Hillary Clinton.

BREAKING News Out Of GOOGLE… BUSTED!! NOT HIDING ANYMORE!!! - Duration: 3:44.

How to Chance the google Web page[!!!Use CC/Closed Captions!!!] - Duration: 6:32.
I'm gonna show you how to go from this
normal Google page still, works perfectly well to this custom Google page
to whatever you want by using Inspect element. inspect element is is a HTML based
coding "program" what you want to do is open up a new tab so you don't have Google if
you're using Mozilla Firefox you can still do this as long as it has the tool
inspect we can inspect so once you find Google or whatever thing you're
editing the other one click inspect on the object you're trying to edit I see
here we find the image so after finding a PNG image that part is important
because if it's not PNG transparent base background image and it will not work
because it wants to merge the whole image blocking other things, so you want to go from
each quotation mark to each quotation mark and highlight
everything beyond where's a SRC after copying this
place it with what you said I'll keep in mind the image height and width will be
skewed because it is still going off of what you put here so if I put a height
320 it's gonna stretch it back to its
default form of course you're gonna have to play around with height and width
here each after that if we still open link in new tab it still takes it to the
same link but let's say I want to take us here I like to just like I've done it
here what you want to do then select this again where says right above it as
you'll find that because it's a subsection off with itself and if that
was HTML here this your link or source so again everything beyond the first
quotations paste whatever hyperlink you're trying to put
though think it's of everything it's gonna be the same as the image below
because it's up but it's still gonna say the same title wherever you hover over
it you also let's say it and select this title if you
want something plain or just as dice so now after that's done should take you
to whatever website you've chosen I don't like it send Google at me all
the time so right here after that because it's a hidden element we go
search Google type right here where it says text you can have everything in
between there so any text will pretty much work
anything goes as long as it's within its character limit there's not really too
much of a character limit a lot of of them what your computer can handle and that
is very long so but we're going to keep it simple after that I don't like this
white back on so if you inspect find this it's gonna be both this so this is
just going what it will do will search this is the image it shows and then
everything down that we have the RGB then the body cuts this is me this is
what this is used for so if you edit this is HTML now I already have fun you
can choose your own color you can go to a red green blue color palette or RGB
color picker and you can change it to whatever you want maybe you don't like
pink but more this value is more red green and blue well it goes up to a
maximum of 250 we'll keep that in mind but the all zero will be black after
doing that sorry not 250 255 255 with all along is white
zero it's all black I'm like this but I don't like this I'm
not like finding my most visited site in fact I'm gonna delete it altogether now
my most listed sites no longer exist
I'm gonna say that's about it and this is a library they go hi website or this
is what I want it to be that's all
