Holy Angels began as a love story 62 years ago.
And we're a place of loving, living, and learning
for the differently abled.
We are teaching through their senses.
They're seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching.
Today, we're very, very excited, because BB&T
and their Lighthouse Program--
they're here.
And they're actually building and installing a music wall
and have donated some other pieces of musical equipment
that we're excited about.
This year, I am the captain of the Holy Angels music
outdoor classroom.
I'm a resident here in Gaston County.
And I also have a special needs daughter,
who attends a special needs program.
[INAUDIBLE]
[MUSIC PLAYING]
A special needs person is a special person.
And having an outdoor music wall,
it provides for them to enjoy the outdoors
and also involves all their senses.
The instruments that we're using will
allow the residents to easily reach out and make music.
It's very important to me that what we're doing
makes a difference.
I can imagine the children and adults
who would use these products, these things,
just to have fun and be able to have better quality of life.
[GRATING NOISE]
What's that?
Music therapy is a really, really important part
of our program.
Because it's the way that we use music as a universal language.
Today is really an extra special day
because not only are the BB&T associates here doing the work,
but they're experiencing life at Holy Angels.
I think that they're making a difference.
And I believe that's what life's about is to make a difference.
