Google Home Multiple Language Capability Demo and Issues - Duration: 4:13.
All right, now I know there's a lot of
excitement out there about the new
multiple languages capability in Google
Home and the Google Assistant, so I just
want to show everyone how to do this in
the Google Home app and your Google
Assistant app. As long as you go to the
settings, this is more settings in Google
Home, and you go to the preferences, you
have the assistant language there. From
there you can add a language, and you can
see all of the different options that
you have. I'm choosing French, Canada, for
the start of our demo here. One thing to
note is once you choose that second
language, there is no capability of
choosing a third or fourth language. So
right now you're limited to two. Now what
I'm going to take you through are some
successful things and some not so
successful things. So here we go. Now this
first demo is the normal way that you
would set timers with your Google Home
if you were speaking English all the
time. Four minutes.
Sure four minutes, starting now.
Now keep in mind each time I use my
Google Home I use an English wake word,
and then as long as I speak the command
in one of the two languages that it is
now listening for, it will respond
appropriately. Third timer for 12 minutes,
starting now.
Now I think you could see there from that
demo what it's not capable of doing is
having you switch in between or in the
middle of a sentence. So you can't start
in English and end in French, or have French
in the middle. You could see there the
Google Home actually made a mistake
there. Now skipping over to Google
Assistant, here I am I'm speaking French
again, but what I couldn't
get to work with Google Assistant is
actually the acceptance of a number in French,
or
time in French, to actually have a timer
go through. Now that doesn't mean it
wasn't understanding French, it just
couldn't do this little piece. I think
there's still some things that Google is
going to have to work out with this new
feature.
Skipping over to something like the
Lenovo Smart Display, what's interesting
about a device like that is it's only in
the US, and so you're going to have to
think about what your device is
made for and if it's going to work
with the multiple languages capability.
What I'll tell you is in general, the
Lenovo Smart Display did not, and here's
your demo for it. I even switched to
German in the middle of this. According
to Wikipedia, monopoly is a board game
where it's loose.

So there you have it, I think in general
the feature is very interesting, very
cool, but ultimately I don't think Google
has all of the bugs worked out just yet.

spotty at best, and will really depend on
what type of device you're using. So

GOOGLE Pixel 3 may have a big surprise in store for Android fans when it releases later
this year if a brand new leak is to be believed.
Google Pixel 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones of the year and is expected to
build upon everything its predecessor did well.
The new hardware is presumed to feature blisteringly fast internals, a refined camera system and
a brand new design.
Pixel 3 is expected to come in two varieties as is tradition with the product line.
The first model is presumed to simply be dubbed Pixel 3 while the second will surely be called
the Pixel 3 XL and will boast a larger display.
The latter appears to have been plagued with leaks in recent weeks with an entire unboxing
recently emerging on YouTube of an alleged Pixel 3 XL unit.
The device was shown boasting a notched display, a front-facing speaker and a single camera
sensor on its rear.
A pair of earphones that echo the design of the Pixel Buds that debuted last year was
also featured in the packaging.
However, this time the headphones were wired and featured a USB-C connector at the bottom.
But now a new leak has seemingly lifted the lid on the smaller Pixel 3 phone that could
have a big surprise in store for fans when it releases.
That is because images supposedly showing off the Pixel 3 have surfaced on discussion
website reddit and show the device with no notch unlike the leaked Pixel 3 XL.
The hardware was shown running Android 9 Pie, boasting front-facing speakers and a single
camera sensor on its rear.
Most notably the user showed off some of the internal features in the phone's settings.
The device was shown to tout a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and two selfie cameras.
Pixel 3 was also shown sporting the signature two-tone finish of brushed aluminium and glass
on its rear Google has become known for.
Originally the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL had been presumed to be announced on October 4,
the same day the original Pixel and Pixel 2 were shown off.
However, it appears fans might have to wait slightly longer for the grand unveiling if
