People, humble yourselves and listen.

People dislike suffering, and are looking for happiness, however people are always suffering,

No matter how wealthy, they are.

Kings and noblemen suffer like everyone else.

Why do these things happen?

It is because people don't know the real cause of their sufferings.

Neither money, nor fame, can eliminate suffering.

When they lack either, they suffer. When they have them. They suffer as well.

Having or lacking, it makes no difference. People always live without peace of mind.

For example, people suffer when they are childless. They yearn for children.

However, when they have children, they suffer, because of them.

What is the cause of your pain and suffering?

It is your dark mind.

Just as a very ill person cannot save her delicious foods, so a person with a dark mind cannot save her happiness.

To solve the problem of your dark mind, and eliminate suffering.

There is no alternative but to listen to the teachings of Buddha.

Listen to the Dharma

The teachings of Buddha. Until the problem of your dark mind has been solved.

Then you have been granted true happiness.

Listen carefully.

Even if, The Universe should become an Ocean of Fire.

Filling a Big Need Among Smallest of Us - Duration: 2:29.

You can see a heart rate drop and, really, your daughter dying there on the table and

there's nothing that you can do.

We went to the doctor and had an ultrasound.

And surprise!

There's twins.

I went into labor at 27 weeks and three days and we went to the hospital

and they couldn't stop the labor.

I was actually still in the recovering room, waking up, and they rolled both children in

so I can say "Hi" to 'em.

They're like, "You have 30 seconds.

They're being life flighted out."

Irie had been on a ventilator for six weeks.

And every time we tried to extubate her off the ventilator, she would fail within an hour

— miserably.

Irie had a PDA.

A PDA stands for Patent Ductus Arteriosus.

And it's a vessel that carries blood between the body and the lungs.

We saw that her heart was enlarging in size and more and more fluid was collecting in

her lungs.

We felt that a transcatheter therapy would be best for her.

The outcome of having the Abbott's Piccolo device procedure helped our daughter get off

the ventilator within three days.

It was, it was a miracle to us.

That was the turning point that we are going to make it, we are taking both kids home.

You just have to live it to really fully appreciate what that device did for our daughter.

And what's amazing is the device is so tiny to go through a vein of a little baby that's

only 1 pound, 13 ounces.

I would definitely consider Abbott's Piccolo device to be Irie's lifesaver.

She's just now starting to walk and run around.

We call her fiery Irie.

She's just she's just a little ball of fire and that little determination that she had.

We knew nothing will stop that little girl.

Anything she wants to accomplish, she's going to do.

I just want them to enjoy life and make the world a better place.

Working level talks to be held between N. Korea and U.S on Monday - Duration: 1:42.

Out top story this evening.

U.S. special envoy to North Korea Stephen Biegun... will be arriving in Seoul tomorrow

for working level talks with his North Korean counterpart... to work out details for the

planned second summit between Pyeongyang and Washington.

No specific dates or details are set,... but the talks could take place at the border village

of Panmunjeom.

Seo Bo-bin reports.

Ahead of the second bilateral summit between North Korea and U.S.,... Washington's envoy

to North Korea called on the regime to provide full disclosure of its nuclear and missile

programs.

According to diplomatic sources, Special Representative Stephen Biegun will be traveling to Seoul

on Sunday for working-level talks with his North Korean counterpart, Kim Hyok-Chol, ahead

of the second summit.

Prior to the working-level talks, it has been reported that Biegun will also be meeting

South Korea's chief nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon... to discuss negotiation strategies.

No specific details regarding the venue has been announced,... but it is expected that

the talks could take place in the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjeom.

The discussion is expected to focus on denuclearization and corresponding measures that would be included

as part of the summit agenda.

The main sticking point is the range of concessions that the U.S. is willing to allow, in response

to the dismantling of North Korea's nuclear facilities.

The working-level talks could begin as early as Monday, but it is unclear how long it is

expected to last.

The U.S. State Department did release the starting date of Biegun's visit, but did not

specify when his schedule will end.

Groundhog Day 2019: What is the story behind the BIZARRE annual US tradition? - Duration: 5:14.

Groundhog Day has its origins in a Christian holiday called Candlemas. Candlemas is a Christian Holy Day commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple

Once the German people made their own migration to the US, they brought their superstitions with them, and the native groundhog became the deciding rodent

U.S. and China make progress in their trade talks, but hurdles still remain - Duration: 1:01.

Earlier in the week,... Washington and Beijing wrapped up their two day meeting on trade,...

but it looks like there are still differences that need to be ironed out.

Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported that the two sides made important progress

during the talks,... where Beijing agreed to increase U.S. agricultural imports like

soybeans,... as well as energy and industrial goods and services.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation on intellectual property rights and technology

transfers.

But several U.S. media outlets said differences regarding China's structural reforms, including

changes on industrial and trade policies,... still remain.

President Trump said Friday local time that no final deal will be made until he meets

his Chinese counterpart Xi Jin-ping.

The summit is reportedly being planned for late February,... before the 90 day trade

truce agreed by the two leaders ends on March 1st.

SURPLUS US AIR FORCE MUKLUK / PERFECT WINTER BOOT FOR BUSHCRAFT AND SURVIVAL / WITH A FEW TWEEKS - Duration: 8:48.

have you ever wanted to take that winter bushcraft trip to the mountains or just

go out and be in the snow but all you can think about is those cold

temperatures and those frozen toes in this video we're gonna cover a low cost

military surplus option that can get you out in the snow and back home with ten

toes intact for years I taught survival and outdoor leadership in the Marine

Corps now my passion is helping you to develop the skills and techniques

required for outdoor recreation come along as we explore survival and

bushcraft useful projects occasional gear reviews and all manner of field

skills i'm Norseman and this is SURVIVOLOGY 101 around the world militaries

have always adopted civilian techniques and equipment to accomplish their

mission oftentimes this equipment is heavily

modified in materials and construction to meet a rigorous standard this doesn't

always mean that the equipment is better but in the case of boots it usually is

now when it comes to military cold-weather Footwear there are

certainly a lot of options on the table what we're going to talk about today is

the Air Force N1-B extreme cold weather mukluks and it's a

perfect example of how the military is taking a lot of creative license and

adopting civilian equipment to military service originally the mukluk design

was made from animal hide now this served really well in a dry cold

environment which was less than 20 degrees when you get above 20 degrees

the snow tends to get more mushy and contains a lot of moisture one of the

advantages to the mukluks outer skin was that it allowed moisture to escape the

foot and keep the feet dry and warm now the N1-B's are made out of a canvas

duct material and it does repel moisture better than animal hide but it's not a

hundred percent waterproof the N1-B will serve better in a dry cold environment

but that doesn't mean that that's the only place you can wear it now the

environment that I'm dealing with right here is most certainly a wet cold

environment the snow is moist the snow packs really well but I haven't had any

issues with these now they may not be perfect but they do handle a wet cold

environment better than their animal hide counterparts

now I modified mine from the original form by stripping down some latigo

saddle strings and using them as laces then I can wrap it around my calves all

the way up like the original design the height of the boot is approximately

seventeen and a half inches depending on the size that you get the sole is a

glued on heavy rubber with a moderately aggressive tread and it does have pretty

good traction on slippery surfaces these boots have five aluminum eyelets that

are double secured to extra heavy duty canvas the N1-B has a full length zipper

that runs all the way to the top and the inside is gusseted to keep out the snow

the top of the boot also has a full-length drawstring I replaced mine

with leather for aesthetics and durability so here's a couple of tips to

help you get the most out of your mukluks keep your feet dry at all costs if

your feet get wet take the time to dry your boots and your insoles wear a thick

padded and wool insole preferably one with a reflective side to reflect that

heat back up at your feet wear thick wool winter socks that are designed for

cold weather if you buy a pair and you're tempted to grease them with a

waterproof grease I will warn that I had a pair last year and I coated them

really good with oil skin reproof that you would put on your oil skin jackets

and it separated the sole from the canvas so it effectively ruined my boots

I don't believe that they require that level of waterproofing they're

customizable with a little bit of effort in my case I customized mine with longer

leather laces but I've also had pairs with border trim sewn on or you may even

paint them because there they are canvas most of the time they don't come with

wool liners but I found the wool liners that belong in them aren't very

comfortable anyway so what I do is I use the fitted wool liners from any pair of

winter boots the sizes range from small medium large and extra-large and each of

those has a bracket of foot sizes that it fits they tend to run large although

you want them loose you don't want them floppy so

advantages when compared to a traditional set purchased on the

internet in a couple of hundred dollar range

they're extremely cheap at anywhere from thirty to fifty dollars they're super

lightweight and even if you're wearing mountaineering boots or alpine boots

they make an excellent backup and around camp boot when you're not actively

trekking or mountaineering they're extremely comfortable and warm they go

all the way to the top of your calf so deep snows not an issue they clip very

securely into snow shoes if you have adequate bindings let's not forget that

they're based on a proven design that's been used for many many years they're

easy to find and readily available at most surplus stores in cold regions and

if not then you can get them at surplus stores online and even amazon.com a huge

advantage is that they're comfortable to put on the next day if you've ever tried

to put your frozen boots on after a full day of trekking when now all that sweat

is frozen into the liner it is extremely uncomfortable and not anything that I

would suggest these on the other hand are super comfortable to put on in the

morning because the liners are so easy to dry now one of the best ways that

I've found to dry the liners is to just heat rocks around your campfire to the

point where they're just uncomfortable to touch and then drop them down into

your liners and let them steam dry if the liners get extremely wet wring as

much water out of them as you can and then put them up somewhere so they can

freeze once they're frozen break them up and break all that ice out and that'll

remove a lot of the excess water that you can't wring out once that's done put

some hot rocks in them and watch the steam some disadvantages they're a

little bit floppy on the feet but that airspace is required for heat retention

unless you have very specialized bindings you can't clip these into skis

they do suffer from a lack of ankle support but they're not really meant to

be a high activity boot and probably the biggest disadvantage to them overall is

that there's no precise sizing when we're talking about military surplus

that makes it a lot easier for them to just issue them out when they're sized

in brackets so small medium large extra-large that is it if you don't fit

into one of those categories but you can always adjust that sizing slightly by

wearing an extra pair of socks or tightening the shoe so do you

already own a pair of Air Force mukluks share your experience

join the conversation or start one I'll go ahead and drop a link in the

description and full disclosure it's an Amazon affiliate link so if you purchase

about wraps up our view at the N1B Air Force muck look in this video we covered

your specific tastes so if you found that information useful or mildly

entertaining why don't you go ahead and subscribe you can also comment below if

Subaru Tells Us A Next-Gen BRZ Is Definitely Going To Happen - Duration: 3:16.

Only yesterday we read a report that the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ 'twins' would not be replaced once their life cycle comes to an end

This struck us as odd, so we decided to investigate. The good thing with the World Wide Web is that you can get tonnes and tonnes of information

The bad thing is that you can also get tonnes and tonnes of misinformation.Oftentimes, it's hard to distinguish between the two, and even huge media outlets have, more than once, been duped

After we talked to Toyota yesterday about whether the 86 was going to be axed, and receiving an immediate reply that this is totally false, we thought we ought to chat with Subaru, too, and find out their plans about the BRZ

Subaru USA spokesman Ron Kinno's response was swift and leaves no room for interpretation: "We do not endorse this report coming from Japan's Best Car", he told CarScoops

"We are moving ahead with a next-generation Subaru BRZ, but have no further details at this time

" This is indeed good news for petrolheads who, due to dwindling demand (and sales), have little choice when it comes to a fun to drive compact sports car

People might cry 'badge engineering!' and, for the most part, they are correct, but considering the low sales volumes, as the sports car has also become a victim of SUVs, a joint project is the only way to roll out such a model without losing money

Kinno's answer might also hint that Toyota and Subaru will, once again, cooperate on the replacements of their compact coupes

After all, the 86 is manufactured at Subaru's Gunma assembly plant alongside the BRZ, and it would not make sense for any of the two automakers to develop the next-gen of their model alone

Will they stick to the flat-four engine? Probably. Will they use a revised version of the current platform? Given the accolades it has amassed, that's very likely

Will they, at last, fit an engine with more than 200 HP, as their customers want? If the redesign allows for its fitment without ruining the handling balance, we don't see why not

When can we expect to see them launch? Can't answer that one, although we guess they shouldn't be more than two or three years away

And for the record, the opening rendering that was made by CarScoops' own Josh Byrnes a few years back, wasn't for a BRZ replacement, but for a higher-end sports car aimed at the Nissan GT-R

If you want him to take on the next BRZ now that we know that there will be one, all you have to do is ask…

Why the US Should Build the Wall, an Expat's Perspective: Reading Negative Comments about Mexico - Duration: 9:06.

hey guys so some of you may have seen my video about the five dangers of Mexico

that people are not warning you about. This is by far the most controversial

and polarizing video on my channel to date. People either loved it or hated it

and from what I can tell the difference between those two groups seems to fall

largely on how people feel about Mexico. In the comments section of that video

people warned me about all kinds of things that I forgot to include in my

video: the cartel, food poisoning, inadvertently

eating dog meat from street vendors and the list goes on.

I've given these comments a lot of thought and I've realized, you're right.

People need to hear those warnings. So in today's video I'm gonna share some of

these comments so that these people can warn you about Mexico in their own words

and I think by the end of this video you'll understand why I think maybe the

wall is not a bad idea after all. Valkurie Garner reminds me: "You forgot to

mention the dangers of being murdered in the streets and the cartels etc etc etc"

I knew I was forgetting something. Alex Carino warns, "If you keep eating tacos

sooner or later you'll eat dog meat"

Alex Chua writes, "Stray dogs are common in

developing and third-world countries... in Cancun Chinese restaurants were raided

as they were selling cats meats on their food"

Michael Whitlow writes, "Will loose weight cuz the tacos bring stuff out with them

the next day that you didn't eat in Mexico" sideways laughing face sideways

laughing face

C. Smithey writes, "You forgot about getting robbed getting your head cut off

because you mistakenly got mixed up in drug cartel crap... Oh everyone is dressed

nice then they live in a cardboard box... WTF dogs your eating them from that

taco stand you think is so delicious"

LDCBIG1 says, "I've never seen a poorly dressed drug lord. Really! No

things I'll stay in the good old messed up USA." big boy wonders, "Why do Mexicans

keep coming here if it's so great there?" TZAZ Arizona asks, "Why are they all

coming to the US illegally?" oh hey guys the next caravan's leaving in

five minutes, oh okay hold on, I gotta go. Brian J Schumer wants me to talk about

"the real dangers, drug gangs, dirty water, beggars, looking down on American women

like they are easy prey, motorbikes running over everything and poor sewage.

You're not cute or funny at all." Frank Bishop writes, "Cute but not helpful.

Dog follows you home? Okay but what about the drug cartel soldier who follows you home?

Carlos Carrillo writes, "I thought this video was about real

dangers of living in Mexico and not a spoof of your likes or visits to the

Mexican country. Danger number one Mexico is full of Mexicans. They are dirty,

unsanitary, crooks, uneducated, and they will steal anything that is not bolted

to the ground. Danger number two Mexico is full of Mexicans see above

description and repeat five times."

SymbolicLogic24 writes, "name redacted well no one is forced to stay in America.

Things must not be that great in Mexico. It's not caucasians storming the

US-Mexico border. lol." Cameraman655 replies, "SymbolicLogic24

bingo! Mexico is a hole. *beep* India is nicer than

Mexico and that is staying something."

Julianos, Julianos? writes, "Name

redacted you just don't like the smell of truth which is like roses rose emoji

because you are too used to the smell of Mexico which is like smiling poop emoji

yellow finger pointing emoji laughing emoji."

So all in all I think it's clear.

Let's get this wall built. You stay on your side and I'll be over here

suffering on this side. Okay guys if you made it this far in the video you are

probably the type of person who gets what I'm doing here. Hopefully all the

trolls stopped watching at the 30-second mark and they're too busy leaving their

comments to make it this far in the video so that you and I can sit down for

some real talk. Before I made the five dangers video I actually had another

video that I had wanted to make but I ran out of time to make it before we

left for Mexico City and Costa Rica. The five dangers video was faster and easier

to make so it got done first. The other video that I wanted to make was a

commentary about how we visitors and expats talk about the safety situation

in Mexico because to be honest we all know that there's a crime problem in

this country. The murder rate in 2018 was record-breaking in Mexico. It's a real

situation, it's very serious, and I worry that videos like mine make light

of it. Because the people who are affected by

crime in Mexico are by and large Mexicans. It's not the

expats or the tourists or the YouTubers. It's not me, it's not my family, and I

don't want to make light of that. So this tension bothers me a lot.

And I want to have that conversation with you guys because the regular

audience for my channel, the people who come back and watch video after video,

the people who have been supporting and encouraging me, those people, you guys are

respectful, intelligent, thoughtful, considerate, and you have fascinating and

insightful things to say. So this conversation is one that I want to have

with you guys. However that conversation is gonna need to wait a little bit until

all this mess dies down because reading these comments and others about Mexico

and the Mexican people ticks me off so bad. I can not stand it. This country has

been so good to us, the Mexican people have been so welcoming and generous and

warm to us and to read the hateful ignorant things that people say about

Mexico and Mexicans just drives me batty. Look, you and I both know that Mexico

isn't perfect. It doesn't have to be! No country on the face of the planet is

perfect. Utopia doesn't exist and this isn't news to you or

to me. Any thinking person already knows that and does not need to have it

validated by a YouTuber. But I believe that my family has a better life here

than we had elsewhere and I can't think of a higher compliment than that. So

Mexico, I love you, thank you, and if you don't like this country then stay out.

More tacos for me. And if you want to hear about how Mexico is a horrible

place full of terrible people out to get you then please do not subscribe to my

channel. Peace!

Carson Foster, the young US swimmer who broke Michael Phelps' record | Heroes of the Future - Duration: 5:08.

My name is Carson Foster.

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States.

I'm 16 years old and I practice swimming.

My dream is to represent the United States

at the Olympic Games.

(CARSON IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S FASTEST YOUNG SWIMMERS)

(HEROES OF THE FUTURE)

(CINCINNATI, OH, UNITED STATES)

Carson began swimming when he was 4 years old.

And he really followed in the footsteps of...

his sister Hannah and his brother Jake.

Carson broke one of Michael Phelps'

butterfly records when he was 10 years old.

I was in 100 Butterfly.

Michael Phelps held the national age group record

for 10 and under, and I just looked at the times...

before the season even started,

and everyone looked up to Michael Phelps.

Just seeing his name next to a record,

I don't know, actually,

I thought, "I wanna try and break that record."

Just because it's Michael Phelps.

It was a great moment. I remember...

going back to the hotel and calling my grandparents

to tell them I did it and...

I celebrated with my parents, my siblings and my team-mates,

and it was all around a really cool moment.

Michael Phelps even.... wrote, "Congrats, Carson!"

and held it on a sign, held it up and took a picture

and sent it to Carson.

Of course that he loves Michael Phelps,

and always looked up to him, so that was kinda like...

his first... "Wow, this is huge". So...

Every kid in the United States who swims,

their dream is always to get to the Olympics

for the United States.

Obviously, with Michael Phelps, he changed the sport.

Made it a lot more popular and also a lot faster -

and that's awesome.

For one person to be able to change a small sport

like swimming in the way he did.

Ryan Murphy and Michael Phelps

are definitely my two biggest idols in swimming.

There's a lot of competition between me and Carson.

Especially in the events where we overlap.

He has started to become more specialised with backstroke...

Carson Foster!

..but he also swims a lot of IM, and I swim a lot of IM.

Jacob Foster!

So, especially when we compete in medley events,

it can get pretty competitive,

because we're good at different parts of the event.

Like, I'm a breaststroker, he's a backstroker.

So it kinda goes back and forth during the race.

The winner's in the lane number 4, Carson Foster!

So, yeah, we kind of tease each other a little bit -

but it's fun whenever we get to race each other.

They've been with the programme for about 3 years.

They've definitely helped elevate our programme

to new heights, higher than we've ever been before.

One: because they work really hard.

And they lead by example.

Then, two: they're also very positive with their team-mates,

and that creates a very positive environment.

Three: They wanna swim. They wanna be here.

And that energy, from all three of them,

rubs off on the entire team.

I'm super competitive,

I think that really helps me with swimming,

because, for me, it's all about who can get on the wall first.

It's all about times.

I've always wanted to be first in everything,

like, I'm super competitive, I hate losing.

I know it's a cliché thing to say

but I hate losing more than I like to win.

When I lose, I always have to remember

that there's more to life than swimming.

My dream has always been to go to the Olympics,

to compete for the United States at the largest stage.

And I don't think that will ever change.

I think that will always be my dream,

and if I accomplish that, then...

it's the next step. What's the next step after that?

To see if I can win a medal for the United States.

But I don't wanna go from zero to a hundred,

and say, "I just wanna break a world record".

Maybe if I make the team, then I can win a medal,

and maybe if I win a medal, maybe I can get a record -

but my dream has always been to make it to

the Olympic team for the United States.

New China Missile Could Hit US | US China Trade Talks | China News - Duration: 11:44.

China's new missile is locked on to the US

And could carry a nuclear warhead

As US-China Trade talks resume.

This is China Uncensored.

I'm Chris Chappell.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel

for the latest China news,

and click the notification bell

so you get an alert when we publish a new episode.

The People's Liberation Army has just test-fired

a powerful new missile that can hit the US!

...territory of Guam.

That's still a big deal.

The missiles can fly 3400 miles

and carry nuclear or conventional warheads.

Not that the Chinese Communist Party would ever actually attack Guam.

Mostly because it would be a tragedy

to destroy the last place on Earth where everyone still loves Kmart.

But also because the Communist Party's military development

is only for peaceful purposes to defend its sacred territorial integrity.

It's just a coincidence the missile,

the DF-26

has also been dubbed "Guam Killer."

It's also a coincidence that Chinese state-run media

released footage of the missile tests

shortly after the United States has been

sending in warships through the South China Sea.

That's part of freedom of navigation exercises

that challenge the Chinese regime's perfectly reasonable

territorial claims in the area.

Those territorial claims being all of the area.

And at the start of the year,

the PLA put the new DF-26 in position

that could theoretically sink US warships in those waters.

But CNN had the audacity

to question whether or not those missiles

could actually hit anything.

Now this missile has never actually been used in combat

so we don't know it's true capabilities.

Well China may have built a missile,

but it's CNN that's throwing bombs!

So the Chinese state-run media apparatus

got underway to prove that CNN is just fake news.

CCTV released this epic, stylish propaganda video

showing that the DF-26 Guam Killer totally works.

And my Shazam is telling me

that music is from the first Transformers movie.

Now sure, the video doesn't actually show

whether the missile can hit a moving target.

Or, really if it can hit anything.

Really, for all we know this is a standard ballistic missile launch.

But I mean, when would Chinese state-run media ever lie to us?

The Global Times even made a point of calling out CNN's fake news.

And tweeted the video at them.

CNN is going to need some ice for that burn.

Trade talks between the US and China have resumed.

The two countries are in the middle

of a 90-day reprieve in the trade war,

where there's a shot at working things out.

If no agreement is made, on March second,

the Trump administration will hit China

with an additional 25% tariff

on 200 billion dollars worth of Chinese goods.

So how are the talks going?

According to CNBC,

"People familiar with the talks and trade experts watching them

say that, so far, there has been little indication

that Chinese officials are willing to address

core U.S. demands to protect American intellectual property rights

and end policies that Washington says

force U.S. companies to transfer technology to Chinese firms."

But according to the Wall Street Journal,

"Chinese officials said

they have already taken concrete steps

toward reform, citing more liberal rules

for foreign competitors in sectors

such as autos and financial services,

and tougher enforcement of intellectual property."

Although Chinese leaders have made promises of reform before.

And on our recent podcast of China Unscripted,

we talked about how hard reform really is.

The way the Chinese Communist Party runs things,

even private companies have to follow its political objectives.

So it's next to impossible for the Communist Party

to actually reform or deal with most of the issues

the US is concerned about,

without giving up a lot of its own power.

To drive home that point,

FBI Director Christopher Wray,

at a US Senate committee hearing on Tuesday,

said the lines between

"the Chinese government and ostensibly private companies"

are blurred if not totally erased and

"especially the lines between lawful behavior

and fair competition and lying and hacking and cheating and stealing."

Basically, we're trying to play basketball,

and the Chinese regime is playing no-rules jungle ball.

Speaking of private Chinese companies

that have to follow political objectives:

Huawei, China's biggest telecom company.

In December, Canadian authorities arrested Huawei's CFO Meng Wanzhou.

She faces extradition to the US for allegedly violating US sanctions on Iran.

Well on Monday, the US announced 23 criminal charges

against Meng and Huawei.

Meng was personally charged with bank fraud, wire fraud,

and conspiracies to commit bank and wire fraud.

Plus, Huawei itself was charged with

technology theft, bank fraud, obstruction of justice, and money laundering.

And right before the trade talks,

Meng made her first public appearance in more than a month

in a Canadian court.

Canada now has a month to decide

whether the US's formal extradition request is strong enough.

During Tuesday's hearing,

the judge delayed the next hearing by a month, to March 6th.

I mean, why deal with something now,

when you can put it off till later?

But for a brief moment,

it looked like Canada may have been caving

to the Chinese regime on the Huawei case.

At least that was the impression given

by Canadian ambassador to China John McCallum.

"'As I was saying, I think Ms. Meng has quite a strong case.'

McCallum then laid out in some detail

why he believed a Canadian judge would reject a US request to extradite Meng."

And as Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland said,

that's a problem.

"Ambassador McCallum's comments

were inconsistent with the position of the government of Canada.

The first and foremost job of any ambassador of our country

is to express accurately our government's position."

McCallum later apologized,

and told the Canadian newspaper The Star that he misspoke.

But then right after, he opened up his mouth again

and promptly inserted his foot.

"McCallum told a reporter that it would be great for Canada

if the US dropped the extradition request

once again suggesting it would not be the rule of law

that would decide the issue, but some political horse trading."

And then Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

told Ambassador McCallum, "You're fired."

I think Trudeau just wanted to impress Donald Trump.

Anyway, former Canadian ambassador to China,

David Mulroney, said McCallum's comments were "mind boggling."

But this is what the Chinese Communist Party is good at—elite capture.

That means getting influential foreigners

to support the Chinese regime's approach to issues,

and then push those agendas in their countries.

In fact, former Ambassador to China David Mulroney

knows a lot about elite capture.

In an email to the Star, Mulroney wrote

"China is amazingly successful at convincing people,

including seasoned diplomats,

that the most important thing in the world

is maintaining good relations with China."

"By this they generally mean not commenting

or otherwise reacting to something egregious that China has done."

"They"—the Chinese regime—"persuade people

by playing to their vanity,

making them believe that their unique understanding of China

is evidenced by their ability to keep things calm and untroubled.

They do this because it works — for China."

That's ridiculous.

I mean, I have a unique understanding of China.

I'm also vain!

Why hasn't the Chinese regime tried to elite capture me?

In McCallum's case,

he apparently received more than 73,000 Canadian dollars

worth of trips to China when he was a member of parliament.

I guess that was a good investment.

Of course, my favorite Chinese state-run media, the Global Times,

had its own unique take on the matter.

The real political interference

was McCallum getting fired

for saying there should be political interference in Meng's case.

"Ottawa is now as sensitive as a frightened bird."

A frightened bird?

Doesn't the Global Times know he's a shiny pony?

"Justin Truuuuuuudeau!"

"He's wearing liberal red, of course.

I call him the Shiny Pony.

He looks like he's in some sort of zen yoga trance."

And it's not just the Global Times spewing hot air.

According to a new study,

China has not actually honored its commitment to cut methane emissions.

The Communist Party not honoring its commitments!

I'm shocked!

Shocked I tell you!

In fact, "Not only were the reductions not made,

but Chinese methane emissions actually increased

by 1.2 million tons per year during the five-year period."

So...I guess we now know the answer to this question.

If you've been watching the show,

you know my two great loves are anime...

and communism.

Well now, Chinese authorities have finally combined

my two great loves into one single monstrosity!

A Chinese anime TV series about the life and times...of Karl Marx.

So young and handsome.

I would gladly redistribute all my capital for a chance to see that!

And before we go, now is the time when I answer questions from you,

my loyal 50-cent army

fans of the show who support what we do

through the crowd funding website Patreon.

Charlie Matsubara asks,

"Assuming CCP has learned its data fudging lesson

from the Great Leap Forward.

What negative consequences might there be

for fudging GDP numbers?

Does China's tax revenue numbers give

an better idea of its real economic growth?"

Great question, Charlie.

China recently released its official GDP growth figures

for the last quarter of 2018.

It was 6.4%, the lowest in 28 years.

But as even Chinese Premier Li Keqiang once admitted,

Chinese GDP figures are manmade and therefore unreliable.

So the GDP numbers are made up,

but you probably can't get better insight

from China's tax revenues, either.

Because those numbers are not made available

to the public or to reporters.

What a surprise.

So maybe China's economy is doing okay.

Or maybe it's on the verge of absolute collapse

and it's going to take down the global economy with it.

No one knows!

I mean, we can kind of guess,

but no one really knows.

But this is how the Communist Party functions.

It would rather cover up problems now, to make it through the day.

What happens in the future, is a problem for the future.

And that means: They really know how to live in the present;

it's a beautiful thing.

Thanks for you question, Charlie.

BREAKING! Putin Greenlights Creation Of HYPERSONIC Mid-Range Missile As US Suspends INF Treaty - Duration: 1:55.

We will proceed as follows.

We will give a symmetrical response.

The US partners announced the suspension of their observance of the Treaty, so do we. We suspend observance

They announced that they are engaged in R&D work, and we will do the same.

I agree with the proposals of the Ministry of Defense about the start of work on the "landing" of "Caliber"

and the opening of a new direction - the creation of a medium-range hypersonic land-based missile.

At the same time, I want to draw your attention to the fact that we should not and will not be drawn into the expensive arms race for us.

And my question to you is this:

Will we be able to carry out this work within the framework of the available budget assignments for the Ministry of Defense for 2019 and the following years?

Defense Minister Shoigu: Vladimir Vladimirovich, we have examined this issue in detail, in the coming days we will propose an adjustment of the budget for 2019,

which will allow us, within the framework of the state armament program, and the 2019 state defense order,

to carry out this work in the amount of foreseen for this year, without any increase.

Without an increase of the MoD's budget?

Yes.

Excellent!

Putin pulls Russia out of US nuclear treaty putting world at risk of World War 3 - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 3:51.

Putin pulls Russia out of US nuclear treaty putting world at risk of World War 3

RUSSIA has suspended the Cold War-era Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) less than 24 hours

after the US temporarily pulled out of it, blaming Washington for "waiving international

liabilities" and sending shockwaves around the globe.

The world looks on the brink of a new worldwide conflict following the shocking tit-for-tat

move taken by Russia.

Its President, Vladimir Putin, announced the Kremin's decision of suspending the INF on

Saturday morning, one day after his US counterpart Donald Trump did the same.

Mr Putin said: "Our American partners announced that they are suspending their participation

in the treaty, and we are suspending it too.

"All of our proposals in this sphere, as before, remain on the table, the doors for talks are

open."

Mr Putin also said Russia will start work on creating new missiles, including hypersonic

ones, and told his ministers not to initiate disarmament talks with Washington.

The treaty, signed in 1987 by Ronald Reagan and the president of the then-USSR Mikhail

Gorbachev, banned all nuclear and non-nuclear missiles with short and medium ranges.

But yesterday Mr Trump's administration said Washington was suspending the treaty for six

months.

Launching a blistering attack the Kremlin, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo argued

Russia has breached the INF multiple time, which pushed the US to temporarily pull out

of it.

He said: "If Russia does not return to full and verifiable compliance with the treaty

within this six-month period by verifiably destroying its INF-violating missiles, their

launchers, and associated equipment, the treaty will terminate."

But this move sparked the opposite reaction from Russia, which has denied violating the

INF accord, and triggered its suspension as well.

On Friday night, the Kremlin said it was reserving the "right" to be able to react to Washington's

actions.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during an interview with the

60 Minutes programme on the Rossiya-1 television channel: "Moscow reserves the right to a corresponding

reactions and response measures following the US' withdrawal from the INF Treaty.

"Naturally, it will be done."

"As a matter of fact it is only a part of America's general concept of breaking down

and abandoning a great number of international agreements.

"So, it is not about Russia's guilt of violating this treaty, it is not about China or any

other factor of international security.

"It is about the United States' strategy of waiving international liabilities in various

spheres".

The European members of the NATO rushed to back the US, according to the alliance's Secretary

General Jens Stoltenberg, who reiterated Russia has breached the treaty multiple times.

He told the BBC: "All European allies agree with the United States because Russia has

violated the treaty for several years.

"They are deploying more and more of the new nuclear capable missiles in Europe."
