How Seasonality Can Hurt Your Business (Our '16 Revenue Numbers) - Duration: 5:45.
Today's video is going to be a little
bit of a break from the normal videos. I
want to talk about seasonality and
businesses. And I'm going to show you my
exact revenue for this year. And then
talk about what that means.
What I've been doing for the past, I think
since September, a few months, is I've been
writing our revenue and a bunch of facts
about our company and emailing it to like
five or six of people in my life
that I would consider my mentors. I
took this from TechStars. This is the
type of thing that TechStars
recommends you send to potential investors
and I've been finding that very useful
for accountability. Today I wanted to
show my November numbers, I mean my
December numbers publicly and talk a
little bit about seasonality because, and
again this is a little bit of a break
from the normal, I am super awesome
type videos. December was our lowest
sales month since June. Since the summer.
So here are my numbers for the year for the
company. We didn't really hardcore
start selling stuff until July this year.
I was still really at Inspire Beats most
of this time and then just kind of
selling stuff on the side. You'll notice
here, this is net payments received is
at a hundred fifty-five thousand for
the year. This MRR number's weird, the way
that charge recalculates it. So
just ignore that number, but basically
hundred sixty one thousand dollars in
sales. Average per month is fourteen
thousand six hundred forty. This is where
we started selling hard.
September, October, November when we
decided to hire the sales team. We hired
them at the end of November. November was
our highest sales month ever with $37,000
in revenue followed closely by
September, but the thing that I
want to talk about in this video is if you
look at our sales
for December we are only at twelve
thousand eight hundred dollars in sales
in December. Seems kind of low.
I have to tell you though $12,500
means
July which was the last month really
in the last like half year that we've
performed pretty bad, this month is
actually worse than that month. And what kind
of sucks about that is that it's the
New Year right now and we've got about
15 days left before payroll. We do
payroll on the 15th, so December 15th and
January 15th and in our base we've got
about 47,000 in the pipeline that's ready
to close so I'm expecting January to be our
greatest sales month ever. And I just
thought I'd make this video to
show you what it feels like when
you have to ride the tide.
Basically, our burn rate right now
for our salaries I think is about, I
know for a fact is thirty three
thousand dollars. So we have fourteen
thousand dollars in committed revenue
and we basically have to make two or
three sales in the next 15ish days to
make payroll. If we don't want to lay
anybody off and it's a stressful life as
an entrepreneur. Part of me is super
confident that we're going to deliver. I
mean that we're going to be able to keep
everybody on and keep going because like
I said we have a lot in the pipeline.
We've got current clients. One of
our biggest clients has paused their
contract and wants to restart in the
beginning of the year so they wanted to
take December off. Another one of our
former client is coming back
starting on January 1st which is
tomorrow. I'm filming this video on
December 30th. So in the future I
might have like a much better picture,
but i just wanted to get this one out here.
Part of me is super confident
that we're going to keep going, that
we're going to deliver. 0% of me thinks
the company is going to fail.
Worst case we'll fire or we'll let go
like three or four people. We'll be able
to keep the ball rolling.
This is an emotion I haven't
seen much of on YouTube and part of the
mission of this YouTube channel is to
show you what real entrepreneurship is like
and this sort of like stress,
excitement, nerve-wracking thing
where payroll's coming up and you
don't have money in the bank like all
that. I don't think that's been
represented too much on video. So that's
my take on it. Let me know in the
comments are you dealing with similar?
I'd love to hear how you deal
with the waiting period? Because
over the holidays, seasonality over the
holidays
nobody's really working. So my team is
hustling super hard to close deals and
just saying hey you know we'll meet the
first week in January, that's what the
customers are saying. First week of
January, first week of January. My calendar
in the first and second week in January
is almost back to back with client
meetings. This week going into the new
year, I had one client meeting.
That's it. Just one client meeting and
the week before that was pretty
packed as well so these dead weeks man.
They're rough! And that's the whole point of
this video. Not a ton of value
here, but but maybe you did find some
value. Feel free to like this video if
you want more content like this.

Supernormal Stimulus: How the Male Jewel Beetle Fell in Love With the Beer Bottle - Duration: 6:37.
Good Afternoon everyone; judges, attendees.
My name is Jason and I'd like to thank you very much for coming in today and a very special
thanks to the organizers for putting this event together.
Today I'm going to share with you a curious story; a love story in fact, from the animal
kingdom.
It's a story about the most hopeless romantics on Earth, and their affection that is absolutely
limitless.
It's a story, I hope, that can teach us much not only about animals, but about ourselves,
and the way our minds work.
This, is the Julodimorpha bakewelli, also known as the Giant Jewel Beetle.
They are an Australian variety of the (very common) family of Buprestidae; beetles with
mesmerizingly shiny backs that, as a matter of fact, have a rich history of being used
for jewelry here in Thailand.
Back in 1983, Biologists Darryl Gwynne and David Rentz researched these tiny creatures,
when they began to notice a… peculiar behavior.
It turned out, these little bad boys had a fetish; the males of this species fell head
over heels for and were trying to mate with big empty brown bottles of beer.
That's right, as soon as you tossed a brownie beside the road, these perverts would flock
in massive hysteria and get busy with it faster than you could say "look, free beer!".
As you can imagine, our biologists were pretty impressed with their findings.
And so before long, Gwynne and Rentz went on to publish their most-infamously titled
paper (and winner of the 2011 Ig Nobel prize, mind you): "Beetles on the Bottle: Male Buprestids
Mistake Stubbies for Females".
That, is a real scientific study folks.
I guess they don't call them giant for nothing.
Alright, joking aside, this is indeed a very puzzling behavior.
Why was this?
Why, in a world that designs species specifically to—above all—survive and reproduce, would
these male beetles elect to behave in a way that is so counterproductive?
These male beetles, in fact, get so enticed by empty brown bottles, that they will oftentimes
enter an obsessive tranced binge of futile copulation attempts, ignoring their surroundings
completely—including actual jewel beetle females, intense sunlight that would end up
drying them up, and even predatory ants as they eat them alive.
Nature, was up to something Ladies and Gentlemen.
And science, demanded an answer.
Well, as it turns out, our biologists discovered the solution to this conundrum lied in a term
coined 10 years prior by Nobel laureate Nikolaas Tinbergen—supernormal stimulus.
You see, unlike people, male giant jewel beetles aren't conscious, they don't have the
faculties to extract meaning out of life, or be self-aware.
What they rely on instead, are cues, or triggers; and those specific triggers can be amplified.
When the male jewel beetle is looking for a mate, he's not looking for a "female"
per se, no, he's looking for a unique combination of size, color, curvature, a shiny "jewely"
appearance, and even temperature to which he's been primed.
And by matching this criteria, to the male Julodimorpha bakewelli, an empty beer bottle
lying on the ground looks like the biggest, most beautiful female he has ever seen.
And, he's are not alone: Studies have found that songbird parents would
prefer to feed fake baby birds with mouths wider and redder than their real chicks.
They couldn't tell the difference.
Seeing red, literally, male stickleback fish would ignore real rivals to attack wooden
replicas with red underbellies.
And perhaps you've even seen yourself moths kamikaze straight into a burning flame or
a bright light because they think they are navigating toward a distant moon.
Supernormal stimuli, is the artificial stimulus nature has never prepared for.
For these natural animals to react to an unnatural world that mankind has created, it would take
many more thousands of years of adaptation.
So, you might ask, what about humans?
Does supernormal stimuli affect us at all?
You tell me.
Does any of the following sound familiar: Refined foods that are overabundant in sugar,
fats and salt?
Fantasy games and TV shows that mimic the real world in improved conditions?
How about adorable cartoon character and mobile emoji's that are cute as babies?
Or online sexuality that entices us even though we're alone?
Do you sometimes spend more time on social media than with your friends?
Do you take medicinal pills that help you think/sleep/hype-up/calm-down/grow-muscle/lose
weight/kill-pain/or get high?
Yes, we too are affected by the unnatural, supernormal, stimulus.
Throughout the hundreds of millions of years during which our brain has evolved, none of
these existed.
We built it all, in the past droplet of a second that was the last century.
These are the stimuli we can't help but want, even though we shouldn't, just like
the poor giant male jewel beetle trying to get busy with an empty brown stubby.
--- But fear not, for there is one difference
that separates us Homo sapiens from the rest of the pack; you see, we, know the difference.
While we may feel the pull toward prefabricated thrills, we can also think and determine that
despite our senses, junk food is bad for us and healthy food is good for us.
That spending time with family is more important than playing Farmville online.
And so on and so forth.
So if there's one lesson I'd like for you to take from this talk today and from
the male beetle and his love of beer, it is the following: Pay attention.
Attention is the best tool you have in your human 'arsenal'.
Attention is what makes you—you, and your decisions—your own.
Thank you.

Photoshop Tutorial: How to Transform a Photo into an Abstract Expressionist, Pop Art Portrait - Duration: 6:07.
Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.
I'm going to show you a quick way to transform a photo of a face into an exciting portrait
that blends abstract expressionism, pop art and glitch art.
In addition, the method allows you to instantly replace your photo with another without having
to redo any of the effects.
I provided this bare metal texture that you can download, so you can follow along.
Its link is located in my video's description or project files below.
Open a photo of someone that you'd like to use for this project.
To place it into the bare metal texture file, press "v" to open your Move Tool and drag
it onto the tab of the bare metal texture.
Without releasing your mouse or pen, press and hold Shift as you drag the photo onto the image.
Holding Shift kept the photo centered over the texture.
To fit your photo onto the document, open your Transform Tool by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + T.
To see your Transform's entire bounding box, press Ctrl or Cmd + 0.
Go to a corner and when you see a diagonal, double-arrow, press and hold Alt or Option
+ Shift as you drag it in or out.
To reposition it, go inside the bounding box and drag your image.
Then, press Enter or Return.
We'll crop off the areas that extend beyond the edges by pressing
Ctrl or Cmd + A to select it and going to Image and Crop.
Deselect it by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + D.
To fit the image back onto your canvas, press Ctrl or Cmd + 0.
We'll convert our photo into a Smart Object, so we can adjust the effects at any time,
as well as, replace the photo with another without having to redo any of the effects.
Click the icon at the top, right corner of the Layers panel and click "Convert to Smart Object".
Make a copy of it by pressing Ctrl or Cmd + J.
Click the eyeball icon next to the copy to hide the layer
and make the original layer active.
Change its Blend Mode to "Color Burn".
Click the Adjustment Layer icon and click "Levels".
I'll drag the Input highlight level to 143 and the Output black level to 64.
Click the Adjustment layer icon again and this time, click "Vibrance".
Drag the Vibrance to 100 and I'll make the Saturation: 20.
Make Layer 1 active and go to Filter, Distort and Shear.
Go to the bottom anchor point and drag it to the right a bit.
Drag the top anchor point approximately this much.
Make the top layer visible and active.
Change its blend mode to Multiply.
Go to Filter, Distort and Wave.
Feel free to experiment with the settings.
For mine, I'll make the number of generators: 100...the Wavelength: 1 and 94...the Amplitude:
998 and 999...and the Scale: 1%.
The Type is "Sine" and the Undefined Areas is "Repeat Edge Pixels".
To quickly create a new portrait, double-click the Smart Object to open the source photo.
If you're using a version earlier than CC, go to File and Open. Then, find and click a
photo you'd like to replace the original one with and drag the photo onto the Smart Object's
original source photo.
If you're using version CC or later, go to File and Place Embedded.
Again, find and click a photo.
Then, click "Place".
If you're using a version earlier than CC, use your Transform Tool to resize the new photo.
On versions CC and later, the Transform Tool opened by default.
If you need more room, zoom out by pressing Ctrl or Cmd plus the minus key on your keyboard.
Then, resize and position the new photo to fit the document.
Close the tab of the Smart Object.
When this message pops up, just click "Yes" to save the changes.
This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.
Thanks for watching!

How To Transfer Data Between RDP And Local PC - RDP File Transfer Tutorial For Windows 10 Windows 7 - Duration: 4:47.
Today I will be teaching you How to copy or transfer data from RDP to a local PC and from
PC to RDP.
I'm doing this RDP file transfer tutorial on a Microsoft Windows PC though But you can
transfer data between local computer and RDP on Mac OS and Linux operating systems by following
today's tutorial.
I urge you to watch this video till the end to avoid any time wasting and inconvenience.
I'm not going into details on what is RDP?
You are definitely well aware of the RDP that's why you are here.
If you want to transfer data with small size between RDP and local computer by drag and
drop then there should not be any problem.
Copying or transferring data between 1 to 100 MB`is no big deal.
The problem arises when you want to transfer data ranging from 100MB to 100GB and on top
of that, This becomes impossible If you are using a slow internet connection.
I was going through the same situation while copying some important data with 3GB size
from Amazon RDP.
My internet connection was not letting me copy data from Amazon RDP.
After several failed attempts, I thought of file sharing websites that first upload to
a file sharing website and then use given download link to download my data from the
file sharing website.
But gave up on this idea.
Actually There are two problems with file sharing websites.
People behind file sharing websites don't allow uploading large files as well as they
impose a specific download data limit on you to stop you from downloading with maximum
download speed.
For an example, Your internet's download speed is 1MB per second, but they give you mere
200KB per second.
The most annoying thing is that most of the file sharing websites don't offer resume capability.
In simple words, If the internet gets disconnected then You will have to start off your download
from zero KB no matter you were at 50 or 90%.
As well as file sharing websites is not a safe method.
Eventually I decided to give a shot to peer to peer file sharing method and fortunately
this method worked like a charm and I managed to transfer data to my local machine.
You can do so with uTorrent which is a free to use and one of the best peer to peer file
sharing programs.
You may watch my previous tutorial on How to use uTorrent?
If you don't know how to use it.
To transfer data between RDP and local PC, Download and install uTorrent on both your
local computer and remote desktop.
After the installation process, We need to create a new torrent file in order to transfer
data between RDP and your local PC.
I want to transfer this file from Amazon RDP to my local machine.
Launch uTorrent and click create new torrent icon.
You have two options here.
If you want to transfer a single file then click add file while add directory option
allows you choose an entire folder to be transferred.
Leave other settings as default.
After choosing your data, Click create button to save .Torrent file.
You may give it a name.
Close dialog box.
Now copy .Torrent file and paste into local PC.
After copying, Open this .Torrent file with uTorrent to download or transfer data from
your RDP.
Keep in mind, Please keep RDP turned on during all the process.
You may shut down your local PC and resume download whenever you want with maximum download
speed.
Feel free to ask any question If you run into any problem.
You can use the comment section.
I'll try my best to solve your problem as soon as I can.
You may find the download link in the description to download uTorrent.
Stay tuned, stay blessed, and Don't forget to like, subscribe, comment and share.

How to play "Sicilienne" by Faure | (Synthesia) [Piano Tutorial] [HD] - Duration: 8:22.
Hi there! my name is igor from smart
classical piano dot-com today we are going to
be looking at faure`s sicilienne
now this piece was originally written for piano
and cello it was made famous by
rendition for flute and cello and I'm
here making it for just piano it was
requested so I made it for you guys and
it's also simplified which should be
helpful
so here is faure`s Sicilienne for piano
ok for is great for this kind of his
name
ok so we're going to be looking at the
first phrase here today on the YouTube
tutorial and if you'd like to finish the
piece off please visit our website smart
classical piano dot-com start your free
trial it's free to try and finish it off
and we really do appreciate it when you
do give it a try it helps us keep making
these keep pumping out these tutorials
for you if you find them useful
subscribe or leave a comment alright
cool so first of all this piece is in 68
time in compound time which means that
is divided into three 123456
i'm going to call each of those numbers
a beach technically this is not correct
but for the sake of this tutorial and
this little disclaimer is for those of
you who know something about everything
divisions and I don't want you to get on
my ass about it
ok cool so every number is going to be a
beat
we begin with 32 g minor 321
this is the first bar three two one and
then again 3-2
there isn't the left when we kept this
out loud we get this 1236 so the last
note here is worth two beats while the
others are all worth one moving on to
the next bar three
each of those notes are worth three
beats three beats and again
tributes
next get that's full d major chord 53
21 and second finger to see when I put
all that together encounter you're going
to get this 123456 123456 to be
612
two
for so again this at the last note here
is two beats the rest of these major one
so that's the left hand here and take
some time we watch as many times as
necessary to pick up the left and when
that's done then come back for the right
we start off with one and two
next 3-5 next 24 learning groups like I
just showed you
323 we have short long short love short
long a couple quick ones here right
get out if i count it
this first d is actually on the previous
bars sixth beat so i'm going to count
the full previous bar and then move into
this right-hand 123456 123456 123456
here that this fast a long short long on
is actually between beats every other
node aligns with something that has said
a number but this a it comes between
beats three and four
sorry two and three that's right 12345
now that's important because his
daughter rhythm appears at other areas
of this work
moving on we have three just the notes
here don't worry about the rhythm 243
then again 243
you might have noticed again we have
this dotted rhythm so this first he
comes down on the sixth part of the
previous six beat of the previous bar so
we get six 123456
alright so you have these seas that go
in between beats one time is between
beats two and three and then the second
time is between beats 5 and 6 i'll put
all that together with counting six
123456 123456 123456 123456 candidate
jumping around there if necessary just
go back to the previous little sections
everything that has to be said about
this section for the right hand has been
said so you can feel free to jump around
the video if it wasn't clear
so finally let's put it all together
with counting right and left
235 since two
six 123456 123456 too
and then
ok cool so that should more less cover
now in terms of peddling I'm gonna do it
again and narrate where the pedal
changes and lifts are so here it is with
the pedaling pedal is down here and you
begin
change
change lift keep the pedal up now don't
the present now put the pedal down and
then lift
now that is down
all of that is penalty and that leads us
back into this kind of repetition that
changes a prime I guess
okay so that should just about cover if
you have any questions leave them below
i'll be happy to help in any way I can i
guess and check us on the web or i guess
the website obviously all right
subscribe and I'll see you later

Low Calorie Strawberry Mousse Parfait | How to Make Strawberry Mousse Dessert - Duration: 4:24.
Hey everyone it's James from fun foods and today i'm
gonna show you how to make this
strawberry mousse dessert it's super
easy and it tastes delicious
so keep watching and I'll show you
step-by-step how to make this for our
strawberry mousse you just won't start
with a large bowl and of course 1 cup of
heavy cream this is heavy whipping cream
whisk that up until it's nice and fluffy
and right when it starts to thicken up a
little bit sprinkling some sugar 1
tablespoon of sugar
when it's nice and thick then it's ready
to set this aside and will come back to
it shortly
now i have a cup of strawberries here
that I've already cleaned and prepared i
am just going to pour into my blender
here and blend them up and make a
strawberry puree also have one
tablespoon of sugar i want to add to
that
it didn't take long and they pureed nicely
now we're coming back to our heavy cream
that we whipped up into this nice
whipping cream and i'm going to take my
pureed i just made from one cup of
strawberries and pour it in there now
just take it and fold it through you
don't overmix it but you just want to
fold it through nice and gently
and when you have this nice even
consistent color all the way through
then you're ready so I have a cup here
that has a piping bag in its folded in
there just to make it easier for me to
pour my contents into it so I'm not
sitting there trying to hold it and
everythings falling all over so I'm just gonna
pour my mousse in there
what i have here are these desert
glasses which are actually shot glasses
their 2 ounce shot glasses and they come
in different shapes and sizes and i'll
put a link in the description below in
case you want to get your hands on one
of those
yeah i like using them just because I
can take it to a party and then don't have to
worry about getting them again they can
just go get thrown out of the really
cheap so what I'm gonna do now is take
my strawberry mousse that we made and
put in a piping bag and I'm gonna fill
the bottom of this glass this desert
glass and I'm gonna feel about halfway
and stop and then after I fill it
I'm gonna take some strawberry puree
this is just some strawberry puree i pureed
up take some scoop out get a good amount
on there
you want a nice even layer
and then you on top it off with some
more strawberry mousse
and after you do that then I just have
some cool whip and i put in a piping bag
just to make it look more presentable
and I want to put a dab on there and we can
decorate it with a strawberry just like
that and that's how it looks and we do
that with the rest of these and now it's
not for the taste test which is always
the best time of every video I'm gonna
dig right in here and get a little bit
of pure a little bit of that moose

How to Learn to Drive....Faster | Road Test Smart - Duration: 4:39.
Hi there smart drivers, Rick with Smart Drive Test
talking to you today about how to
accelerate your learning and accelerate
your driving ability.
Today we're going to do some slow speed
maneuvers in the parking lot. You can go
out - and you can see the pylons here
behind me go rent some of those three
foot, 36-inch, meter tall pylons from your
local rental shop. They're really
inexpensive - probably cost you a less
than fifteen dollars to rent them for a
day. You can go out to an empty parking
lot and do slow speed maneuvers,
particularly backing.This will help with
your overall driving and translate into
your overall driving and give you better
understanding of the primary controls of
the vehicle: the steering wheel, the brake,
and the throttle. And if you're driving a
manual transmission, the clutch as well.
So start with straight line backing - just
put the pylons in a row as you can see
here in the image and then back up on
both sides of them. That way you're going
to get a good sense of how to backup on
either side of the vehicle. And then
proceed with backing around corners.
Put the pylons, as you can see here in
the image with 2 & 2 on a 90° angle, and that way you can go around
a corner. Back around on both sides - left
and right. And if you're driving a manual
transmission, as soon as you start
backing, make sure you take your foot
off the clutch. Only if you need to slow
down do you push the clutch in, but for
the most part when you're doing these
exercises you want to--as soon as you
start the vehicle-- et the clutch out...
let it out all the way. Most of the time
the engine's an electronic fuel injection
and it's just going to idle
backwards. And you'll have to give it
very little throttle, especially you're
driving a diesel manual transmission, as
many of you will be in Europe. And then,
finally, when you're comfortable with
backing: straight-line backing, backing
around corners, and whatnot then put the
pylons in the 3 in a row here, as you
can see in the image and do reverse
figure '8s'. First in one direction and
then in the other direction. And once
you're comfortable with reverse figure
'8s', then you can move onto doing
stall parking. And i'll put a video up
here in the corner for you on the lesson
on stall parking. Because reverse stall
parking, perpendicular parking or bay
parking as they sometimes call it is a
required skill for a road test. And you
will be required to back into a parking
space for the purposes of a road test. So
know all of that.
So reversing will improve your
overall driving and it will help you to
learn how to drive faster. If you spend
time in an empty parking lot doing these
maneuvers--straight-line backing, backing
around corners, and reverse figure
'8s'--it's going to translate into all
of your driving and you're going to be a
better driver overall more
quickly. And i know for the mentors out
there helping new drivers learn how to
drive and prepare for the road test, this
is not the most exciting thing in the
world. But as my martial arts instructor
said to me some years ago,
"anybody can do it fast, doing it slow
take some precision, some skill, and
ability. o spend the time in the parking
lot - go and get some of these pylons. All
of this will really really help you out
and if the new driver that you're
working with or you as the new driver
having significant difficulty with a
particular skill
don't be afraid to come back to the
parking lot and work on it here in the
parking lot. Sometimes you have to go
back over the fundamentals while the
student is learning because in the
first attempt they just didn't
understand it fully, or they didn't grasp
the concept, or those types of things.
And sometimes you come back and you
revisit it and the student has had time
to practice it and all of a sudden it
clicks because you come back and you
have revisited the fundamental. So do
that as well.
Question for my smart drivers: do you
have any tips for new drivers and
learning how to drive - tips and
techniques and maneuvers that they
should practice that will help them to
learn how to drive faster?
Leave a comment down in the comment
section there. All of that helps out
the new drivers learning how to drive
and working towards their license. I'm Rick
with Smart Drive Test, Thanks very much
for watching. If you like what you see

that thumbs up button. Check out all the
videos here on the channel, great
information those working towards
getting their license or starting a
career as a truck or bus driver. As well,
head over to my website. More great information
over there and online courses that you
can purchase. Stick around to the end of
the video, funny bits and links to the
other videos and to my website. Thanks
again for watching. Good luck on your
road test. And remember, pick the best
answer not necessarily the right answer.
Have a great day. Bye now.
[LOOKING AROUND]
[CHUCKLING]
Whar are you...just driving around in the middle of the
empty parking lot?
People are so weird when you're filming!
They just want to know what you're doing.
