Have you ever had shin splints that you try to stretch out and it just doesn't quite get

to the problem?

Well today with this video we are going to address that issue.

When talking about foam rolling the lower leg, for shin splints, we want to think

about 3 primary muscles: the anterior tibialis, the extensor digitorum longus, and the extensor

hallicus longus.

When foam rolling the anterior shin you're going to feel these muscles differently depending

on where the foam roller is at on the leg.

So let's jump into it right now.

When talking about these three different muscles, it is helpful to know where they are at in

relation to each other.

Now, the anterior tibialis starts up here and the bulk of it runs along the top third

of the shin and forms a tendon that goes down into the foot.

Now the extensor digitorum longus branches down a little bit farther on the shin before

it forms the tendon also going down into the foot.

Now the last one is the extensor hallucis longus.

It is a little bit longer of a muscle.

As it starts coming down the shin it goes deeper into the leg before it forms its tendon

going down into the foot.

So, depending on where the foam roller is at - in the proximal 1/3rd, the middle 1/3rd,

and the distal 1/3rd you'll feel these muscles a little bit differently and potentially you

will find that ideal area where you need to foam roll.

Now lets get started!

Take your foam roller, set it on the floor directly underneath your knee.

Before we get started with this - take your hands and put them a little awkwardly out

in front of you and keep them flat.

Do not let them come up like this.

It is going to help for shoulder stability that will help carry over to many other things.

From here, take your opposite foot and bring it up.

Now we can apply pressure, from our body weight, down directly onto the foam roller.

We just want to foam roll back and forth in those sections.

So, I am working the proximal part.

You might want to keeep the shin directly straight down into the foam roller and then

a little bit to the side when you are working that proximal 1/3rd.

From here, as you go through the middle 1/3rd lean a little bit more toward the outside

of the shin.

It is going to get into that extensor digitorum longus better.

Then finally at the very bottom you're going to be resting almost directly on it where

you are sitting on it.

That is great because you are getting very good compression.

And this is working that extensor hallucis longus and if you want to at the very end

here start moving your foot back and forth and you're going to feel those tension and

those trigger points better.

Hi, I'm Sophie and welcome to my world and as

always whenever I have Frankie it's a

better day in my world

so Miss Frankie guess was coming up what

Valentine's Day is Valentine's Day a big thing at your school

not really most of the time we just

exchanged like little valentine cards

you do cards? i mean i remember when i was

a kid we used to make like little

mailboxes do they still do that? no we

just get little bags and write our names

on it and throw them in there

well I have something that you could

make for valentine's day that will like

rock your world or at least your friends

so here's the deal are you allowed

to have candy at school

most of the time haha ok then they're

definitely gonna like this

because these are robot candies so candy

robots I should say not robot candies that

would be rather I don't know what would

that be

a gear and no.... ok so we

are making candy robots and I have come up

with a bunch of little sayings here like

Valentine you make my heart go beep beep

I know that's the thing

about Valentine's they can be as corny

as you want them right so i made a

template of these and you can download this

on my website and you can have just so

you don't have to write your own or you

can come up with your own cuz i'm sure

that you could come up with some really

better ones than this like this one is

Valentine I am all a bot you

ok long story short we are going to make

candy robots for this project we're

going to need assorted candies glue dot

scissors googly eyes and Valentine's

well wishes which you can get from

my website we are going to use glue dot

because hot glue tends to melt certain

candy you know like chocolate and stuff

like yeah but the thing about it is if

you're using wrapped candies which is

what you want to use when you're doing

doing project like this because you're

gonna give it to somebody you don't want

to come you don't want to glue something

together that you know unwrapped

then you can't

eat it right so we're going to be using

glue dots for these main things like the

chocolate and stuff but if we got

something like laffy taffys or these you

know like these smarties we can use

a hot glue gun for them and especially

if it's gonna be like the base of

something like a

starburst or something like that or one

of these now or later it's totally fine

to use a glue gun but you get to choose

so here's the thing there's no

right wrong or indifferent

you know so basically you can

start using anything and everything that

you see here and go to town i mean you

can make tiny little robots

i'm going to make a tiny robot while

you make a big robot or whatever you

want but we do have these sweetheart

they make a great base for the for the

body or you know what

those little nerds are really good

for your body base too again if you

want to make like a little tiny baby

robot so this is the thing whatever

candy you have on hand you can get

started my dear whatever you want to use

here's your glue dots and it's really easy

just take whatever candy you want and

start sticking them together now I'm

going to give Frankie here her glue dots so

can go to town over here if you need the

hot glue just let me know i mean you can

use it to the thing about this is

that if you've got leftover candy from

christmas or you have leftover candy

from halloween like I know some people

actually end up with all this candy left

over from halloween this is the perfect

way to use it all up

it's really really simple really really

great so Frankie i'm just going to have

you why don't you pull the candies

that you like and that way our

cameraman can get you making stuff gets

I'll just put them off to the side you

can choose that way you don't have to

stifle your creativity

the one thing i did like is they have the

Lindor. oh I love them

do you like these? these are

fun but if you look at the Lindor label

the way it goes its kind of got a

smiley you put a little eyes on here so

I am going to do that while you're

doing this so I'm gonna take some eyes

here

actually no

I'm gonna make some lovestruck eyes here

and when you put it on the Lindor here

doesn't that look like a smile

these kind of looks like ponytails or

like piggy tails sticking out

really wild on the side so I kind of

like i like i like that he makes a good

makes a good robot now don't feel

like you have to go out and buy you know

Lindor candies because you don't get

very many in the box but they are super

fun if you happen to have them on

hand so really the thing about this is

that it's up to you how to make one you

don't like I said there is

absolutely no right or wrong on this and

you can just get as creative as you want

to and it really depends on what you

think of when you think of the robot

i'm going to do another excuse me for

putting my arm in front of you like that

i'm gonna put one right there

now this is a great place where I could

use hot glue gun because I've got a box the

nerd boxes are great for this little

nerd box and I'm just going to stick this

now or later on top

I like the square shapes like i

i love things like the round shapes

for heads and stuff like that and you

know what I really like for heads Frankie

are these make heads too though but i

really like these Rolos aren't those cute

and they make like a cute hat

I was going to use them as a hat yeah

exactly so you can spend an entire

afternoon making these for your

classmates and i think they'd be pretty

impressed what do you think

yeah and then you know you can put them

in like a little ziploc bag so that they

stay all together and then just

put them in those paper bags and I think

we need to talk to your teacher and and

get a little bit more creative with the paper bags

do you at least get to decorate them

yeah we get to decorate them so we don't

get that long to decorate them

I'm definitely gonna have to talk to your

school teachers yeah maybe we'll have to do a

sophie world at your school

yes that's actually be awesome okay well

I'm gonna do this I'm gonna add some

wheels here and I'm going to let you

keep working you can share this with you

sister guess I should well

how about you make one for your sister or

actually we can give her this one

laughy taffy for arms maybe you add

your laffy taffy and while you're doing that

I'm going to cut out one of these little

phrases and glue it to my ittle robot this one

says Valentine I'm nuts and bolts

about you i know i needed you to help

me come up with you would help me come

up with better ones than this right

How to Make an Acrylic Led Edge Lit 3D Xmas Tree Lamp - Duration: 10:16.

Hi welcome to Techydiy. I'm Nigel and

today i'm going to make an acrylic

edge lit lamp using LEDs to light the sides.

The lamp consists of two cutouts that slot

together and then into a wooden base,

which also has a glowing acrylic layer.

So let's have a look at some of the parts.

First of all a six millimeter or

quarter-inch-thick clear acrylic sheet,

some square planed wood, 5 x blue leds

and 4 x white leds, 3 x 220 ohm resistors,

some wire, DC power connector and to cut

the acrylic sheet, I fitted a jigsaw with a

Bosch T101a blade, which is designed for

cutting polycarbonate and acrylic. For the links

to the plans, parts and tools have a look

in the video description or you can go

directly to the TECHYDIY.ORG website.

The design was created using google

sketchup, along with two templates, which

were printed out and glued to the

acrylic sheet as a cutting guide.

I used water-soluble glue, so that the

templates could be easily washed off

afterwards. Once the glue had

dried I cut along the lines with a

sharp knife, which marked the design directly

into the acrylic. The first section to be

cut was the slot; and to start that I

drilled a hole at the mark point on the

template, using first a center punch and

then a step drill take the finished hole

size up to six millimeters or quarter of

an inch. I then used the jigsaw to cut

along the lines of the template, using a length

of wood as a guide. The trick when you

cutting acrylic is to cut very slowly, in

short sections and avoid heating up the

material.

When you edge light acrylic it highlights any

scratches or imperfections and as I had used

an old sheet, I needed to polish it; and so to

do that I ran a blowtorch along the

bottom edges to flame polish them, but I

left the sides unpolished, as this was

necessary for edge lighting. I then sanded the

faces with wet and dry sandpaper, using a

little water to create a paste, starting

with 240 grit and they're moving all the

way up to 3000 grit. To finish I used

plastic polish and a cotton polishing

mop.

Next I cut 2 square blocks of wood for

the base. I marked the centre on one of

the blocks and then set up the router

table fence, so that the router bit was centrally

positioned, in line with the center mark.

I also clamped a length of wood onto the

table to act as a guide. And I routed the

top face of the block, cutting across its

full width, before turning it 90 degrees to

cut again. The router bit is a six

millimeters or a quarter of an inch

straight bit, which is the same width as

the acrylic sheet.

For the bottom face of the block I didn't want

to route all the way across,

so I set up stop blocks.

To accommodate the power cable I removed

the stop blocks and routed a channel

through to one edge.

and I finished off the top edge with a

roundover bit. Next I drilled holes for the

leds, which are five millimeters in diameter.

I used a new five-millimeter brad point

drill bit which made it very easy

to locate and cut clean holes.

For the base center layer, I cut a square of

acrylic, using the same dimensions as the

wooden layers. This piece will be lit

by an LED, so I drilled an eight millimeter

hole in the center to accommodate it

using a step drill. To secure the three

pieces together, I drilled counter sunk holes

into the corners and screwed them together.

I sanded the sides flat and applied some

clear varnish. The next job was to solder

the LEDs together.

There are four white and four blue LEDs

pointing up, with which light up the tree

and another blue LED pointing down, which

lights up the base. The circuit diagram

looks like this, with three sets of three

leds in series with 220 ohm resistors.

wired, along with a step-by-step guide

To make the assembly easier, I drilled a

template into some scrap wood, following

the same pattern as the base.

Once the leds are soldered, I installed them

into the base, hot glued the power lead in

place and then screwed the base together.

Slotted the acrylic cut-outs together and

installed it into the base. So let's check

🆕 Cemu | How to Add New Shader Effects with ReShade - Duration: 6:46.

Welcome back to the REGNR8 Channel!

GITech sent me a link to a very cool post he made over on reddit showing the Cemu

community the effects of utilizing ReShade to apply new shader settings to various Wii

U games running in Cemu.

It's an interesting read and I'll post the link below in the the description for everyone

wanting to go check it out.

After going over the post, spending some time playing with Reshade myself and speaking with

GITech about it, I thought it would be useful to have a basic tutorial showing the community

just how simply it is to set up Reshade to run with Cemu and how to properly apply the

settings that GITech was using in his post.

Of course this also leaves room for community members to experiment!

So once you've gone through the tutorial please feel free to share different shader settings

that you've discovered/created down in the comments below or head over to our Discord

server to share with the community there!

Without wasting anymore time: Let's get right into it!

This is: How to Set up ReShade for Cemu.

Step 1.

Step one of course is to have the most recent

version of Cemu.

If you don't have it yet, head over to Cemu.info to download the latest version.

If you already are running Cemu, I suggest for testing purposes that you make a copy

of your Cemu directory or start with a fresh install so that just incase anything gets

messed up, none of your files will be messed with and you can simply start over from scratch.

Step 2.

Assuming you have all of your save game data,

graphic packs and transferable shader chache data copied over to your new directory - the

next step is to head over to the ReShade website and download it.

Follow the Link in the description below to download ReShade.

Next, head over to GITech's Reddit post - the link is also found in the description, and

download his Mario Kart 8 Shader settings.

Once it's all downloaded, copy the files over to your emulation directory and extract the files here.

Step 3.

Open the ReShade Setup .exe.

You'll be face to face with a small box that welcomes you and prompts you to select a game.

Click on the Select Game button and search for your Cemu ReShade Testing directory that

we set up and select Cemu.exe.

The Welcome message will now change to tell you that it's "Installing to Cemu...".

The Select Game box will now say "Select rendering API".

This is the Application Programming Interface that communicates with your GPU to manipulate

shader data.

Click on on "OpenGL" to continue.

A prompt will be presented - asking you if you would like to download a collection of

the standard effects for ReShade.

Click on "YES"

ReShade will now download and then ask you which effect files you'd like to install,

you can pick and choose from the list.

GITech advises not to install all of the shaders for a couple of different reasons:

First, The more shaders that you have installed in the reshade-shaders directory, the longer

Cemu and Reahade will take to compile everything at start up.

and second,

Having Cartoon.fx file in the directory seems to have caused some people issues in MK8 resulting

mostly black screens.

For this reason it's suggested that you install the specific ones listed and linked in the

image linked below in the description.

But for the sake of simplicity and for those wanting to live life a little more dangerously,

Austin Powers: I also like to live dangerously..

Card Dealer: As you wish, sir..

just install them all like I have here and clicking on OK.

ReShade is now properly installed into your Cemu directory!

Step 4.

Close the ReShade installer and then head

into your Cemu directory and take a look at what ReShade did.

We now have a couple of new OpenGL DLL files as well as a new reshade-shaders directory.

We now to copy and past GITech's shader config file into our Cemu directory.

For simplicity sake, I have renamed the file to MK8 and I will paste the ini file at the

root of the Cemu directory.

But to keep things clean you will want to place it into one of the above shader directories

and leave the descriptive file name.

Step 5.

Open Cemu and load your ROM file.

As soon as your game loads Hit Shift + F2 to configure ReShade.

Tell ReShade where your configuration file is that we downloaded previously

and it's name.

Again, I renamed mine to MK8.ini.

Hit enter.

And then continue.

Step 6.

There are a few settings and tweaks you'll want to make sure you have in order before

you start playing your game.

You'll want to ensure that your shaders are in the proper order for performance reasons.

I've included a link in the description to an image which will show you the proper order

but you'll also see that order by default here in this video.

If you like to save screen caps, you should consider changing the default screen cap type

to PNG.

This will save considerable hard drive space over time with a smaller file size.

Next, it's good to know that ReShade has a FPS overlay feature.

Once you're done making the changes that you want in ReShade make sure to change from configuration

mode into performance mode as it will really help to increase your general performance.

And it's really as simple as that!

There are many who will have no issue figuring this out on their own.

But for those of you who have made it this far, I hope that this has served as an intro

into what ReShade is capable of and I hope that you have fun playing around with the

settings.

How Long will it Take to Learn How to Sing?

Answer these 6 Questions to Help Get the Answer

Here are 3 questions to help you define the your singing goals and aspirations.

Look at these three diagrams and answer the question below it.

The answers will help you know how long it will take.

Each of

these pyramids have 5 categories.

The bottom of the pyramid is level 1 and the top is level 5.

How long will it take to learn to sing?

Your answers to the next 3 questions will help you know how long.

First, which level above are you wanting to achieve?

Second, what is your current level of singing?

Third, are you willing to pay the time demands as well as the mental, physical, emotional

and financial price to achieve your goal?

Which Level is Best?

There's no right, wrong or best level.

Our motivations and desires are different for all of us and that's OK!

Most singers have no interest in being Beyonce.

There's just as much joy and satisfaction in singing at level 1 as at 2-5.

There's a huge amount of enjoyment singing karaoke with your family and friends.

It's equally fulfilling to give your senior recital for your Masters in vocal performance

at the university.

It's totally OK if you do or don't want a high level of singing.

Your goal is to achieve YOUR singing dreams and aspirations not someone else's.

And within each level there's an infinite number of sub-levels and intensities.

Virtually Anything is Possible within each Level

Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues, 5' 3'' and Manute Bol, 7'7'' both played in the NBA

Here's an example of limitations and possibilities.

Who could imagine someone 5'3'' playing in the NBA.

However there are limitations.

It's unlikely Bogues would play center and Bol would play guard.

Each level requires a "must have" combination of skills and ability.

But there's no set of rules within reason.

For example, if you want to sing at a level 4 as a professional recording artist, you

must be able to hear and speak.

If you are hearing impaired and you cannot speak it's likely you won't achieve level

4.

Not impossible, but unlikely.

If you wanted to play in the NBA, you must have two legs and likely, two arms and hands.

If you were missing your legs you still could play in wheelchair basketball league if you

had arms and hands and be very challenged and fulfilled in that level.

But most likely the NBA would be out of reach as a player.

The Good News is Singing and Performing are Different

There are numerous examples of level 5 performers who are not (in my opinion) level 5 singers.

For example, I don't think Bob Dylan's a great singer.

Yet he's credited by Rolling Stone Magazine as having the greatest rock song ever, "Like

a Rolling Stone".

This is great news for all of us singers.

You don't have to be a great singer to be a great song-writer or performer and entertainer.

You can have millions of people completely in love with your voice and your performing

with an average to below-average voice.

Listen to Tom Waits' vocal performance.

Yet he's legendary with a huge following.

The same with the late Janice Joplin.

You don't have to be a great singer to inspire the planet with your performance.

This is not a criticism.

This is the good news!

It means there's room for all of us to reach others with our voices, talent and passion.

The Bad News is Singing and Performing are Different

Why is this bad news?

Because if you're an amazing singer at a level 2 but you're unable to get over your introverted

shyness, your soft spoken reserve or whatever is preventing you from opening your heart

and exposing it to the world...giving everything you have, first in practice and then in performance,

it may not matter what level of singer you are, you may struggle to achieve the highest

levels.

There's a total commitment to laying aside your inhibitions to take chances before you

can begin to push beyond your limitations and break through to what you really want.

Can you see it's a very difficult question to answer: "How long will it take to learn

how to sing?".

There's also The Natural Born Talent Factor

Part of the equation is your natural aptitude for singing and performing.

Here's the best way to describe what I see.

Two Moms bring their 5-year-old to learn to sing because "they sing all day long".

One can't sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" on pitch and the other sings "Let it Go" perfectly

on pitch and with confidence.

Neither had lessons before.

But it will take one of these kids longer to learn to sing than the other.

However, maybe the one with pitch problem has a consuming desire to sing...and in time

conquers all the limitations and begins to excel.

What if the more "gifted" student loses interest and does nothing with singing?

Occasionally you see a natural talent that also has the inborn passion.

This may be a future Beyonce or Timberlake.

How Long will it take to learn how to Sing?

Uhhhhh........well how about: depending on your inborn talent, physical limitations,

current skill level, personality, desire, goals and work ethic…

Level 1: 1-12+ months.

Level 2: 1-4+ years.

Level 3: 1-8+ years.

Level 4: 1-10+ years.

Level 5: Years.

Decades.

You could hit Level 5 like 3-year-old phenomenon, Shirley Temple, or 10-year-old Michael Jackson.

Without question it will take a lifetime of work and commitment.

And there are exceptions to everything I've said.

But, for now, it's the best answer I can give.

If you don't know your vocal type, you are at a disadvantage.

Your vocal type is not whether you are soprano, alto, tenor or bass.

Your vocal type is determined by what you tend to do when you sing though the first

bridge of your voice from chest into head voice.
