My Shadow; a little girl discovers her shadow for the first time (watch with subtitles) - Duration: 0:45.
My Shadow Robert Louis Stevenson, 1850 - 1894
I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.
The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow—
Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
For he sometimes shoots up taller like an India-rubber ball,
And he sometimes gets so little that there's none of him at all.
He hasn't got a notion of how children ought to play,
And can only make a fool of me in every sort of way.
He stays so close beside me, he's a coward you can see;
I'd think shame to stick to nursie as that shadow sticks to me!
One morning, very early, before the sun was up,
I rose and found the shining dew on every buttercup;
But my lazy little shadow, like an arrant sleepy-head,
Had stayed at home behind me and was fast asleep in bed.

Are Your New Year's Resolutions Monkey Dung? [SONG VLOG] - Duration: 7:20.
I don't know about your New Year's Resolutions
you haven't told me
but, without being a judgemental jerk
they're probably monkey dung
ok, that was slightly jerk-esque
but I've made many years worth of monkey dung New Year's Resolutions
and this year I was determined to see how I could make them better
so, what's monkey dung and what's better?
something that's an end to your improvement
like 'win the juggling award' is monkey dung
something that improves you constantly
like 'practice juggling every day'
is not dung
something that relies on other people
like 'get a million worshippers'
is monkey dung
something that relies on just you
like 'practice and refine your doom lord speech
until it is the best doom lord speech that it has ever been'
is not dung
something that's vague
like 'become a great flutist'
is monkey dung
something that's clear
like 'practice the Frozen theme on flute
until your neighbours cry and beg for mercy
on your doorstep every day'
is not dung
something that's cinch and fluffy
like 'live for every day'
is absolute monkey dung
just avoid that bullcaca
seriously, it kills unicorns
do not do it
and lastly, but potentially most importantly
making resolutions that you have no actual obligation to keep
is monkey dung
having someone or multiple someones
hold you accountable
is the not dung thing to do
so I did mention before
that I've had many monkey dung New Year's Resolutions
in the past
this year I've done a complete overhaul
and really focused on trying to make them as not dung as possible
and this is a bit scary
but, here they are
one
become ninja
quite seriously
I'm going to sign up to a dojo
attend twice a week
I'm going to do it
two
is learn the Final Fantasy 10 music
on piano, as much as I can of it
and then, the kicker
actually perform it
so I'm usually pretty ok with playing piano
but I get the shakes when performing
and I usually avoid it
so I'm gonna face that fear head on
number three
writing at least a hundred and fifty songs or pieces of music
so I'm going to keep track of this
by putting a big cross on my So Purrfect calendar
for every day that I write a song or piece of music
then counting it up at the end of the year
making sure there's at least one hundred and fifty crosses
number four
making at least twenty YouTube collabs
ok, so I know this one somewhat
relies on other people
but I genuinely do believe
that if I organise it and push it
that I have the power within myself
to make this one happen
and I really wanna do more collabs
number five, this one's quite left of centre
I want to make a lookbook for each season
fashion-wise, the two main ones
of the year and do geek pop style stuff
and I'm not much of a model or fashionista
but I've had this idea for a while now
of kinda featuring the local, Australian,
geeky, craftsy shops
and what they do, so
I'm gonna give that one a crack
number six
is to learn new and interesting chords on guitar
and use them in songs
I'm gonna keep track of this one in a
very similar fashion to the songwriting one
a big cross every day
that I do focused chord practice on the guitar
on my other cat calendar
so that one has to be slathered in crosses by the end of the year
and number seven, this is my last resolution
is to make a live performance set on Maschine
so the Maschine is a relatively new instrument
to my artillery
but I really want to be able to take this
button-box-noise thing
out on the road with me and perform with it
and I'm committing to doing at least three songs
that I can take out and perform live
so, they're my resolutions
why am I telling you my resolutions?
because you are going to be the one keeping me accountable
I'm committing right here and now
to make a video at the end of the year
detailing exactly how I went with all these resolutions
so, I better keep them, cause otherwise
I'm going to look really stupid
at the end of the year
what are your resolutions?
are they not-dung?
comment below and let me know
also, here's my "you can do this" song
that you can feel free to be inspired by
because it's, err, supposedly
uh, accompanied by very inspiring pictures
or not
the internet has very odd ideas
on what "inspiring" is
scrunch those 'To Do' lists up
shoot'em like an Overwatch Reaper end'em
didn't believe'em when I wrote them
might as well be Klingon cause I still don't understand'em
it's ok I always need paper to set on fire
and
the road to Oz has made itself clear this time
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time my mind is set up right
this time I know I'm gonna make it
This time, this time
this time everything is lined up
this time I see the bigger view of life
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time, this time
I'm gonna shut off the gaming console
kill the procrastinations
switch my gears into turbo
make those dreams more than visualisations
planets spin around in circles and that's fine
but I'm breaking off from the endless loop this time
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time my mind is set up right
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time, this time
this time everything is lined up
this time I see the bigger view of life
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time, this time
gonna hold my ground like a tank now
push through like a black belt
Chuck Norris watch this space
I'm here now and I'm here to stay
your thousand years is my single day
it's a prophecy passed through the ages
a lightning bolt tattooed on my heart
you know I'm gonna win when I hit start
I'll keep on pushing 'til I fall apart
I'll push on
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time my mind is set up right
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time, this time
this time everything is lined up
this time I see the bigger view of life
this time I know I'm gonna make it
this time, this time
(hi, Meri)

Exports drop two years in a row for first time in 58 years - Duration: 2:13.
Bad news on the trade front as newly released figures show Korea's annual exports have dropped
for two years in a row now.
Shipments in 2016 were eroded by various internal and external factors.
However, some are optimistic the figures will turn around in 2017.
Kim Jung-soo with the details.
Data from Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy shows the country's total exports
for 2016 amounted to 495 and a half billion U.S. dollars, which is five-point-nine percent
less than 2015.
This marks the first first time in 58 years that Korea's exports have fallen for two years
straight -- in 2015 they also dropped by 8 percent on year.
Meanwhile, imports for the year also dropped by seven-point-one percent, coming to a total
of 405-point-7 billion dollars.
As a result, the trade surplus for 2016 amounted to 89.8 billion dollars, which is slightly
less than the 90.3 billion recorded in 2015.
Looking more closely at exports, all major items -- except for personal computers -- posted
negative growth in 2016, hit hard by the global economic downturn.
Shipments of semiconductors dropped by 1.3 percent... wireless devices, including mobile
phones, fell 9.1 percent, while exports of automobiles plunged 12-and-a-half percent.
However, the ministry's report offers a glimmer of hope -- it shows monthly exports posted
on-year growth in positive territory for the last two months of 2016, the first time in
over two years.
Exports for November grew 2-and-a-half percent on year, and the figure for December was up
6.4 percent.
Experts attribute this late surge to recovering demand and rising crude oil prices.
However, analysts also caution that Korea must still deal with the possibility of more
trade protectionism and economic restructuring in 2017 by economic superpowers like China
and the U.S.

Latest start time and weather forecast update for 2017 Winter Classic - Duration: 3:02.
When the NHL announced that they'd be providing an update on the Winter Classic, most people assumed that they'd be pushing the start time back like they did for yesterday's Centennial Classic.
But on Monday morning, the league announced that there would be no change to the 1:00 p.m. ET start time for the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues.
"The decision was made after consulting with meteorologists regarding the latest weather reports, which while the weather forecast is unpredictable, the original start time should provide the best opportunity to play the game," the league said in a release.
According to the Weather Network, there's a 90 percent chance of light rain in the forecast, while temperatures are expected to remain steady at around 48 degrees, but it'll feel like closer to 50 throughout the game. That's unusually high for this time of year, which can cause a problem for the ice conditions.
Should there be a problem with the ice, here are the NHL's weather-related game procedures:
Once the game has begun, it may be subject to one or more temporary stoppages due to unplayable weather conditions, at the discretion of the Commissioner.
Period and game format may be reconfigured to accommodate temporary stoppages as determined appropriate by the Commission.
n the event of high winds at the ice surface, the clubs will swtich ends at the 10:00 minute mark of the third period as signaled by a "hard whistle". The face off will take place where the play was whistled dead. This identical procedure will take place at the 2:30 minute mark of an overtime period, if needed.
In the event of a shootout, each club will determine what end they prefer to defend, which could be the same end.
If the game is started, then stopped permanently due to unplayable weather conditions, it will be deemed "official" once two periods have been played. The team leading at the time play is stopped will be declared the winner and will be awarded two points in the standings.
If the game is tied at the time play is stopped permanently, any time after the two periods of play, each team will be awarded one point in the standings, with an opportunity to earn an additional point in a standard shootout format.
If weather conditions permit, the shootout will be conducted at Busch Stadium immediately after regulation play has been stopped. If weather conditions make it impossible to conduct a shootout safely at Busch Stadium, the shootout will take place at United Center on Sunday, February 26 prior to regularly scheduled St. Louis-Chicago game, with St. Louis deemed the home club for shootout purposes only.
If the game is started, and stopped due to unplayable weather conditions, and fewer than two periods of regulation time has been played, the game will be officially "postponed" and, if possible, will be played in its entirety at Busch Stadium on Tuesday, January 3. If the game cannot be replayed at Busch Stadium on January 3, it will be rescheduled at Scottrade Center for a date to be determined later in the season.

Belated Festive Video | Christmas Films & Watching "Elf" for the First Time [CC] - Duration: 5:03.
Currently by profession I am a Santa's Elf.
Yeah. Really.
I do it every single year and I love it, I really do, but I've been working a lot.
A lot since the last week of October and so I am really really trying very hard at this
point to, kind of, maintain my passion for Christmas: the most wonderful time of the
year.
What I've been doing this year to help myself out is watching a lot of Christmas movies,
which is really good because actually I haven't seen most of the really really famous really
popular christmas movies.
This is kind of a side note and not something I like to admit too freely, as an aspiring
film maker, but I actually didn't like films for most of my life.
I think I was maybe 18 or 19 when I started getting into films and prior to that, just
because of my short attention span I think, I never really got into them.
And so a lot of the movies that people really associate with deeply and that most people
have seen I just missed out on, and so you know I'm getting educated and I'm watching
as much as I can.
But right now I'm focussing that on Christmas movies and so tonight I took all my make-up
off, I got into bed, and I watched "Elf" for the first time.
To be fair I have seen bits of elf before, I've certainly watched scenes, some scenes
a lot, just because it's the kind of movie that's playing in the background a lot of
the time around christmas.
But I've never sat down and watched it beginning to end like I did tonight, and I thought I
might do a little review for you all because the thing with these Christmas movies is for
most people so much of why they love them is the nostalgia of them, whereas for me the
nostalgia isn't there because I didn't watch them as a child or as a teenager, and so I
thought I'd review from that, kind of, outsider perspective.
I liked "Elf".
A lot more than I thought I would too, I kind of thought that I wouldn't just because, well,
I don't really like Will Ferrell.
I mean, I respect that he's a very very prolific comedian but I just I've never really been
into his style of comedy.
I kind of thought that a lot of them were funny when I was, like, in my early teens
but now; not really so much.
But "Elf" was different, I guess it was a lot less crass, I mean it was probably because
it's family friendly and so it appealed to me much more because the comedy wasn't quite
so gross and alienating.
And it's such a sweet film, I get why so many people feel so strongly about it, 'cause it's
the kind of film you can just re-watch and it does make you feel so Christmassy, because
it manages to toe the line between cheesy Christmas film while being self aware about
that, just because of the way that the story is.
It is a comedy, they are poking fun at all these Christmas traditions, but also the Christmas
traditions are still in there.
And that's so nice.
I really think that that's very very nice.
One of my favourite things about it was the decorations, is that silly?
I just kind of, oh! that scene where he completely redecorates the department store, that blew
my mind!
It looked so good.
It just made me so excited.
And I work in a department store, so you would think I would be over that kind of fake department
store Christmas, but nah, that just had me.
I didn't laugh that much at the film, but there were some bits that really got me, and
when they did- and I mean, I'm home alone too.
So I think any film that can make you laugh out loud at all, even if it's like a quiet
giggle, when you're completely alone- is doing pretty well on the comedy front.
I'm not an expert, I know next to nothing about comedy but I've been watching a lot
of Kate McKinnon videos, so I'm getting up to speed.
You know I really really liked it.
I feel that like warm Christmassy nostalgic feeling about it, even though this was my
first time actually watching it and I don't associate it with my childhood in any way,
but yet I still kind of do.
What an achievement.
What a nice Christmas film, it's got to be up there with one of the best, right?
So actually, that's a pretty good note to end on because I actually do have to get up
really early and go be an elf myself tomorrow.
So I will bid you adieu!
On that note, please do tell me what your favourite Christmas film is, I'm hoping to
get this video up pretty quickly so that I can get some more recommendations.
I've just been getting recommendations from everyone at work, and that's how I've found
the films I've watched so far and it's lead me pretty well.
So let me know what your favourite Christmas film is in the comments and tell me why, to
help me narrow it down a bit.
And that is all from me, I need to go to bed guys.
Goodnight!
Au revoir!
Bye!
