Opel OnStar and my stolen car is back! #thankyouOnStar - Duration: 1:29.

That's a catastrophe for me because my car is essential for my work.

I went to bed around 11:30 p.m. At around 3a.m. my little dog woke me up.

I realized the glassdoor was open. I was cold. I thought: „It's strange for me to sleep with an open door". I looked on the kitchen counter: No handbag, no keys.

I went out through the veranda and discovered there was no car in the yard.

There is a big gap at that point as you feel violated, someone has com into your home, they took your things.

That was very frustrating.

Then OnStar came to my mind. In my car I had this tracker. The police then contacted Opel.

The police asked us to localize the car via satellite.

When the car stops, we can block the car and you can't start it anymore.

In the case of Madame Legay, what worked very well is that it only took 15 minutes from the request to finding the car.

Only 15 minutes – That's nothing! Even the policemen couldn't believe this is possible.

It was very comforting to get the car back intact – and that fast.

That was fabulous!

DUTY OFFICER WHO WAS KILLED IN A

CAR CRASH, CHRIS CRISTY FAJARDO HAS

REACTION FROM COLLEAGUES AND

SPENDING NEW YEAR'S DAY

MOURNING, LAPD SAID IT IS ALWAYS

DEVASTATING TO LOSE A OFFICER,

BUT IT HARDER WHEN IT COMES AT

SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPY.

THE NEW YEAR BRINGS GRIEF AND

A COLLEAGUE SAID THIS IS HOW YOU

WOULD FIND HER, ALWAYS UPBEAT,

AND HAD BEEN A OFFICER FOR ABOUT

7 YEARS, BUT IN A JOB THAT CAN

HARDEN PEOPLE, SHE ALWAYS KEPT

SMILING.

THE 30-YEAR OLD WAS OFF-DUTY

WHEN SHE WAS KILLED AROUND 2:00

THIS MORNING, THE CAR SHE WAS A

PASSENGER IN AND AN UBER, THEY

COLLIDED AT SYCAMORE AND

COCHRIN.

POLICE BELIEVE ONE OF THE

DRIVERS RAN A RED LIGHT, AND

HAVE NOT RULED OUT ALCOHOL.

TO FIND, SOMEONE YOU SPENT SO

MUCH TIME WITH, IT IS TOUGH.

REPORTER: LAPD REMEMBERS MONROE

AS A DEDICATED AND HARD WORKING

OFFICER, KOTTER SAID SHE WAS

SPECIAL.

HE TOOK THIS PHOTO OF HER ON THE

JOB, IMPRESSED BY HOW WELL SHE

HANDLED THE HOMELESS AND

HERSELF.

SHE HAD A FLAIR FOR

DEHUMANIZING THEM, TREATING THEM

AS PEOPLE WITH PROBLEMS NOT JUST

NUMBERS.

SHE WAS ASKING THE QUESTIONS

ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE

COMMUNITY, SO SHE COULD TRY TO

SOLVE THE PROBLEM IN THE AREAS.

REPORTER: THREE OTHER PEOPLE

WERE ALSO INJURED IN THE CRASH,

BUT WE'RE TOLD ALL ARE EXPECTED

TO RECOVER.

MONROE'S FRIENDS SAY HE IS

SURVIVOR BY HER PARENTS AND A

SPOUSE.
