How to Learn to Drive....Faster | Road Test Smart - Duration: 4:39.

Hi there smart drivers, Rick with Smart Drive Test

talking to you today about how to

accelerate your learning and accelerate

your driving ability.

Today we're going to do some slow speed

maneuvers in the parking lot. You can go

out - and you can see the pylons here

behind me go rent some of those three

foot, 36-inch, meter tall pylons from your

local rental shop. They're really

inexpensive - probably cost you a less

than fifteen dollars to rent them for a

day. You can go out to an empty parking

lot and do slow speed maneuvers,

particularly backing.This will help with

your overall driving and translate into

your overall driving and give you better

understanding of the primary controls of

the vehicle: the steering wheel, the brake,

and the throttle. And if you're driving a

manual transmission, the clutch as well.

So start with straight line backing - just

put the pylons in a row as you can see

here in the image and then back up on

both sides of them. That way you're going

to get a good sense of how to backup on

either side of the vehicle. And then

proceed with backing around corners.

Put the pylons, as you can see here in

the image with 2 & 2 on a 90° angle, and that way you can go around

a corner. Back around on both sides - left

and right. And if you're driving a manual

transmission, as soon as you start

backing, make sure you take your foot

off the clutch. Only if you need to slow

down do you push the clutch in, but for

the most part when you're doing these

exercises you want to--as soon as you

start the vehicle-- et the clutch out...

let it out all the way. Most of the time

the engine's an electronic fuel injection

and it's just going to idle

backwards. And you'll have to give it

very little throttle, especially you're

driving a diesel manual transmission, as

many of you will be in Europe. And then,

finally, when you're comfortable with

backing: straight-line backing, backing

around corners, and whatnot then put the

pylons in the 3 in a row here, as you

can see in the image and do reverse

figure '8s'. First in one direction and

then in the other direction. And once

you're comfortable with reverse figure

'8s', then you can move onto doing

stall parking. And i'll put a video up

here in the corner for you on the lesson

on stall parking. Because reverse stall

parking, perpendicular parking or bay

parking as they sometimes call it is a

required skill for a road test. And you

will be required to back into a parking

space for the purposes of a road test. So

know all of that.

So reversing will improve your

overall driving and it will help you to

learn how to drive faster. If you spend

time in an empty parking lot doing these

maneuvers--straight-line backing, backing

around corners, and reverse figure

'8s'--it's going to translate into all

of your driving and you're going to be a

better driver overall more

quickly. And i know for the mentors out

there helping new drivers learn how to

drive and prepare for the road test, this

is not the most exciting thing in the

world. But as my martial arts instructor

said to me some years ago,

"anybody can do it fast, doing it slow

take some precision, some skill, and

ability. o spend the time in the parking

lot - go and get some of these pylons. All

of this will really really help you out

and if the new driver that you're

working with or you as the new driver

having significant difficulty with a

particular skill

don't be afraid to come back to the

parking lot and work on it here in the

parking lot. Sometimes you have to go

back over the fundamentals while the

student is learning because in the

first attempt they just didn't

understand it fully, or they didn't grasp

the concept, or those types of things.

And sometimes you come back and you

revisit it and the student has had time

to practice it and all of a sudden it

clicks because you come back and you

have revisited the fundamental. So do

that as well.

Period.

Russia will establish a close association with the US, and several of the imposed sanctions

against her will be lifted.

Turkey will continue being an aggressive power in the region fighting against the Kurds,

ISIS and the Syrian rebels.

Their relationship with the European Union, Russia and especially the USA will be greatly

deteriorated.

There is a danger of the European Union to experience a new wave of refuges from the

Middle East and potentially further terrorist attacks.

The newly elected president of the States will have to decide his move regarding the

building of the wall he promised in the Southern border of the Union.

The leader of North Korea Kim Jon-Un will continue to be aggressive against South Korea

and possibly other countries.

France, Germany and the Netherlands phase general elections in 2017.

Will the far-right nationalistic parties against refugees win?

Middle East will continue being highly unstable and the tourism in these countries, and especially

Egypt and Turkey will plummet even further.

China will continue being aggressive towards the USA, and against an alliance of powers

assembled by the newly elected US president.

The next arc of Dragon Ball Super is going to be unreal.

We will have a Tournament of Power arranged by 2 Omni Kings that will involve all 12 existing

Universe and will be monitored by the mysterious Grand Priest.

This Tournament of Power is going to be way more intense and serious than any of us ever

imagined; they will literally have to fight for their existence!

Such Savage Rules!

According to the preview summary, the losing Universes will get fuckin destroyed.

It goes without saying so much has never been on stake ever before.

We have a lot of interesting things to look forward to like, what will happen with 2 Omni

Kings?

Will some secret get revealed about The Grand Priest?

Or things like an unveiling of 10 new Gods of Destruction and a whole bunch of new fighters

from all the Universes.

All that apart, from our perspective the Universe 7 team will have a lot on their shoulders

as the fate of the entire Universe now depends on them.

Everything that we know off will be defended by this ten man squad!

The tournament fighting format will also be really refreshing; it is hinted that primarily

we will have team battles instead of one on one!

That is quite logical as one on one would take forever to finish as in total we would

have around 120 fighters in the tournament!

Unless they go through some form of filtering before even starting the tournament and have

only a select few Universes.

From the manga scan, it does look like we have all 12 God-kaioshin pairs!

Further details will be released in the coming weeks, hopefully.

Anyways, now let's analyze how good our team is and if the decision of team formation

was accurate both from plot and external marketing perspectives-

So, first we have the obvious fighters, none left out.

By obvious, I mean the ones who were in the last tournament- Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and

Majin Buu.

Well, err there was Monaka, but Beerus won't keep up the act even when the existence of

the Universe is at stake obviously.

Then, we have Gohan, Android 17 and The Human Z Fighters.

Undoubtedly Android 17 is the biggest surprise as he is one character we haven't seen after

the Cell arc.

This is going to be a major return, all these years we don't know what 17 had been doing.

Did he train?

Can they now increase their power with training?

We don't really know as 18 never trained!

So, I am expecting at least 1 episode before the next arc where they explain 17 and his

return.

The arc will first launch in the Manga and then on the anime, meaning in February.

Before that, we will get 4-5 episodes.

Episode 73 and 74 will do right by Gohan, and then we can expect an episode of A17.

Then maybe 1 or 2 episodes about the other Z fighters, maybe some tease from new Universes

too!

Then, Gohan finally huh!

Make Gohan Great Again!

Right from the beginning of Super along with teasing this tournament they have also teased

the return of Gohan, but it just wasn't happening!

Now, just when the fan demand is at its peak Gohan is returning, and he looks all fit,

and muscular!

This outfit, this look you know is his mystic form look.

So, who do you think Gohan trained with is it with Piccolo, Goku or Vegeta!

Or do you think Goku arranged Gohan a training session with Whis.

Well, maybe under normal circumstances Whis and Beerus wouldn't train Gohan, but as

everything is at stake, they shall try to prepare their team in the best way possible.

Maybe even training every single member, who knows!

Fans have always argued that fighters like Piccolo and Tien are experienced, talented

and are fast learners.

Specially, Piccolo at his prime time had even temporarily surpassed Goku and Vegeta after

becoming a Super Namek!

So, who knows we might even end up getting something so satisfying we didn't even expect!

Like A God Piccolo or even Tien, but it goes without saying if Gohan gets training from

Whis he would benefit from it the most.

As mentioned by Vegeta earlier on in DBS, Gohan has the highest dormant potential.

For Gohan to power up, he might get a new transformation.

If it were up to me I would give him something different than Super Saiyan Blue; as I feel

that shall remain exclusive to Goku and Vegeta.

Like, in the last arc they tweaked it a bit for Trunks and gave him a form that had the

Blue aura and was officially named a few days ago as ' Super Saiyan Rage, anger or fury

'!

About the Human Z fighters, I am extremely satisfied to get Krillin, Tien, and Roshi.

It's almost like exactly how I would build the team if I were the story writer!

Maybe just maybe I would get Pikkon in place of 17, but then again 17 have chemistry with

18.

So, that works too.

Actually, that works better.

Now, many fans are pissed off that we won't be getting Goten and Trunks.

Plot wise we need the strongest possible team for U7, and I'll come back to that later.

But, think with a wider perspective.

Goku and Vegeta will have the majority of the action and both of them are Saiyans.

Then, we have Gohan who is expected to play a Future Trunks like role, and even he is

a Saiyan.

The last arc was dominated by a Saiyan.

So, I honestly think it was a fantastic decision to not take Goten and Trunks.

5 Saiyans in a single team!

I don't know how you guys would feel, but I think that would be boring and repetitive.

Now, we have a lot of variety in the team, Saiyans, Humans, Namekians, Androids also

Majin Buu.

Also, all three of the human Z fighters have been there since the beginning of the series

back from the Dragon Ball days.

They do have more fans and are more saleable than Kid Trunks and Goten.

So, that's also one factor that we need to consider.

Apart from that, they can add a lot of seriousness the kids otherwise don't as they have a

very chill and fun fighting style.

Besides, I personally find Roshi, Tien and Krillin's fights more satisfying to watch.

Tien holding down Imperfect Cell with Tri Beams beats all Goten-Trunks moments combined,

for me.

Master Roshi always deserved the spotlight.

Back in the Dragon Ball days he even defeated Kid Goku, his martial arts moves are top notch.

Yamcha and Chiatzuo should have never surpassed him in the first place, so DBS is only giving

him the respect he always deserved.

About power, Roshi lived for hundreds of years, and he trained all his life maybe he even

trained all this time.

Besides, Dragon Ball Super clearly tried to establish that at this point in time Roshi

is ahead of Yamcha and Chiatzuo as in the Resurrection F arc, against Roshi fought against

Frieza's army while Yamcha and Chiatzuo were left behind because they were not strong

enough for the battle.

Roshi and Tien fought comfortably against Frieza's army while Krillin had to be motivated.

Further hinting both of them kept training all these years.

There's always has been controversy about who is stronger between Tien and Krillin.

There's no clear answer to that, back in DB days Tien was undoubtedly a level above

Krillin, but now we can't say for sure.

Anyways, I think currently Tien would beat Krillin, as Tien kept training while Krillin

was busy with his job and family.

Clearly, Tien is in a better shape too.

Heck!

I'll just divide these fighters into different levels with multiple fighters being on each

level!

Level 1 is, of course, Goku and Vegeta

Level 2- Piccolo, Gohan and Majin Buu

Level 3- Android 17 and 18

Level 4- Tien, Krillin, and Roshi

However, back to Goten and Trunks.

Even though Human Z Fighters might have been the perfect choice as they would bring variety

to the team, and would be more refreshing to watch.

Still, plot wise how do you explain not taking the most powerful ones?

Well, the first obvious guess is there could be an age limit, and this could truly be the

case.

If not maybe it's because of the team battle rules, and since others have more knowledge

and experience perhaps they can do better or maybe Whis and Beerus denied picking Kids.

The thing is Z fighters was the right choice, but now they must show a logical reason within

the plot too!

Counting on Toriyama and company to do something acceptable with that!

I haven't talked much about Majin Buu.

Well, he is fun to watch, but there's nothing much to expect from him, no new transformation

or something, but he might do something really wacky like turning someone important into

a candy and u know..

The only time he might have a real impact on the plot is if Super decides to introduce

UUB sometimes soon.

President Park's impeachment trial to begin on Tuesday - Duration: 2:19.

Turning our attention to President Park Geun-hye's impeachment trial which officially kicks off

Tuesday.

Key figures linked to the scandal will be summoned to testify as witnesses.

Song Ji-sun has a preview of the proceedings into the case that will undoubtedly change

the landscape of Korean politics.

"Based on transparent legal procedures acceptable to the public, we will reach a decision in

a fair and prompt manner after a thorough assessment of the case."

The Constitutional Court -- holding in its hands the fate of the President and the timing

of the next presidential election -- has vowed to expedite its review, kicking off 2017 with

two official hearings in the year's first week.

With President Park unlikely to appear at the court's first hearing on Tuesday,... the

actual pleas will be made at the second hearing on Thursday.

The President's closest aides -- Ahn Bong-geun and Lee Jae-man -- and her personal staff,

Lee Young-sun and Yoon Jeon-chu, will be summoned as witnesses that day, as requested by lawyers

for the National Assembly's impeachment committee.

Next Tuesday,...

President Park's former chief policy aide Ahn Jong-beom and her confidante, Choi Soon-sil,...

the woman at the heart of the scandal, will be called to testify.

The legal representatives of the president and the National Assembly will argue over

the five impeachment categories ranging from power abuse and bribery... to breach of right

to life and dereliction of duty, regarding the 2014 Sewol-ho ferry disaster.

The Constitutional Court on Monday also sent fact references to eight organizations linked

to the scandal, as requested by the President's lawyers.

Ahead of the official hearings, President Park held a surprise meeting with the press

on Sunday... again claiming her innocence.

"I can say for sure that I did not order anyone to do anything to look after someone in particular

or give them advantages.

There wasn't the slightest intention of that nor did the idea ever enter my head."

"The Constitutional Court said it has no comment on the president's recent remarks to reporters,

and that the legal proceedings will follow the letter of the law.

EU, don't stay stagnant with the success that you had! - Duration: 5:45.

Hello, welcome at this new vlog of Belicons.

Nice that you are watching.

This week my blog and vlog are about dissatisfaction in the European Union.

It strikes me that there are two opposing views on the European Union.

Some people are very pleased with it.

They claim that there is peace for decades now because of it.

And since countries that also want to join the union need to reform before they can become

a member too, it brings a better state of justice in other countries too.

And thus it makes other countries more democratic too.

Other people aren't happy with the European Union at all.

They see all the rules that the union imposes on us without us having any influence on that.

They see that some countries have to pay a lot of money and others just receive a lot of money.

So according to them the European Union is actually very undemocratic.

This has made me think about how to bring these two sides together.

For the European Union will be there for quite some time but it isn't good when many people

are unhappy with it.

For this reason I think it's important to find a way to bridge the gap between proponents

and opponents of the European Union.

And I think that this will become possible when the proponents realize that they shouldn't

stay stagnant with the success that they have until now.

For indeed, it is now very different than about 150 years ago when European countries

wanted to expand their nations and could only for that reason only start a war.

In that era people had to fight to get an own governments.

Now we all live free countries and we don't have to worry that another country suddenly attacks us.

So the European Union indeed is a good initiative.

But even when something is successful at the start, it doesn't mean that it stays that way.

And the proponents need to realize that too.

The European Union isn't perfect.

The conflicts in Eastern-Ukraine and The Crimea came into existence because Ukraine and the

European Union became too close according to Putin.

So the European Union means peace within the union itself, but that doesn't mean that

the European Union cannot be a part of another war or cause another war.

It is also well-known that Greece became a part of the euro zone far too soon and because

of that they got into major problems that are still not resolved.

And also the Brexit referendum shows that the proponents shouldn't be too confident

about the future of this union.

This makes me think about the warehouse chain V&D, or Vroom en Dreesman.

This large warehouse chain got bankrupt a year ago and that was a big surprise to many.

But before the bankruptcy was final, many people already said that they didn't know

why they would buy something at these stores specifically.

But a long time ago this was very different.

My grandmother sometimes tells me the story about when she worked at a fashion house at

the end of the 1940s.

It wasn't going very well with the store and she saw that the V&D had sales that attracted

many customers in that way.

She told this to her boss and he let her create a table with sales too.

And that worked!

At that time the V&D was very progressive and an example to her.

I can imagine that former managers of the V&D stayed stagnant with the success they

had and forgot to stay progressive.

So being successful is a good thing, but being successful once doesn't mean that one will

stay successful.

One should always be alert not to become stagnant.

And that also counts for the European Union.

Even when it is a good thing in many ways, the people are getting more and more dissatisfied

and the European committee should do something about that before there will be many other

referenda in countries that also want to leave the European Union.

If proponents are going to realize this then there will be room to start to listen to one

and another and to make the European Union really democratic and transparent.

Then the inhabitants can become proud again to live in the European Union and really feel

that it adds to their lives.

But at the same time it is important that opponents of the European Union are open to

notice that the union is improving.

Sometimes people are so much against something that they are just angry and interpret everything

that happens negatively.

In that case the proponents can improve many things, but in the end it wouldn't help

when the opponents aren't open to see that things are improving.

And this brings me, just as in my blog, to the importance of taking into account both

facts and feelings.

The proponents have very positive feelings when they think about the European Union.

They believe so strongly in this project that they don't see the facts that there is a

lot of dissatisfaction and that not everything is working out perfectly.

But the opponents are so much against the union that they stay stagnant in their negative

feelings and don't see the positive sides of the European Union and won't notice any improvements.

So if we want to make a success out of the European Union and make the inhabitants satisfied

civilians, then proponents and opponents should first take both facts and feelings seriously.

I find myself out here

on my solitary road in the middle of a cornfield in the middle of the country for probably

the two hundredth time this year on my walk and I can't help but think about what we need

going into 2017 we've got to keep going we just do we can't stop I want myself and all

of you who are listening to remember that we were born for this we were born for this!

If you have any inkling in your system, in your soul of what you think you should be

doing what interests you, where's your curiosity where's your passion if you have any whatever

you are thinking about you were born for that thing you were BORN for that thing and so

you have the capacity within you to do that thing.

And that's what gets me the most.

We wouldn't have any thoughts about that thing if we didn't have it within us to complete

that in our life.

Do not fear.

Many of us have failures or we're pushed down by others oh, you know.

. you'll never do that, or that's stupid.

You know, we hear that or we try it and we fail.

Those things that knocked us over, that's what makes us successful in the end.

I'm not talking monetarily or financially or anything, I'm saying that's what...the

journey, the downs especially is what makes the end product the end whatever it is whether

that's a business or a book or a speech or whatever.

You know, whatever it is!

People that start out & they succeed right away & they don't have any hurdles to jump

over, they may produce great stuff BUT it's the people that failed and got pushed down

that the end thing is even richer.

Most people will not do what it takes.

Always remember that.

I was one of those people never thought to act on the knowledge that I actually had & most

people don't act on the knowledge.

They just don't.

And I'm not talking about supporting your family or doing what it takes to put food

on the table, I'm talking about health-wise, life-wise, business-wise, passion-wise.

Most people, including me at one point in my life, will not do what it takes.

And so BE that person, let's be that person, that does what it takes to be you, to do you.

You only live ONCE so what are you gonna do?

What are you gonna do in 2017, what are you gonna do in 2020, what are you gonna do in

2024.

What person do you want to be?

You were born to do this, you were born for that thing take that with you as you go forward.

Find a word or a phrase for 2017.

Mine are STAND UP.

LEAN IN.

Because it is time for me to stand up in who I am.

It is time for me to lean in to the circle.

It's time for me to lean in to who I really am.

The person that I've brushed under the rug for 41 years and just recently realized that.

And I'm gonna hold on to courage because I'm gonna need it.

I think they are helpful and valuable to all of us, those two phrases.

Stand up.

Lean in.

Pick what is relevant to your life.

Pick what you want your thirty thousand foot view to look like.

And then get down there and lay out the actions that are going to add up.

That's what I want you to do.

That's what I'm gonna do to keep me going.

I know there will be days where I'm laying in bed feeling sorry for myself and wallowing

in self-doubt, you will have them, too.

But I challenge you to only give yourself ninety seconds of that or an hour of that

or whatever you need according to the situation and then get your ass back up, I get my ass

back up, I put on some hoppin' music, Starboy from The Weekend or whatever, and I get back

up and I get back in the circle and I lean back in.

And I want you to do that, too.

I want you to do that.

It's the only way that we are going to keep moving forward and giving our gifts to the

world.

That's the only way that it's gonna happen.

2 Humor Books that Will Mean Something to the World - Duration: 4:09.

Hi.

Welcome to On My Shelf.

Today I'm talking about two humor books that have a good amount of depth to them.

I enjoy reading humor books whenever I can.

But my favorite humor books to read are those that also have some depth to them.

I found that depth in Amy Schumer's The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo and Rainn

Wilson's The Bassoon King.

Schumer is a stand-up comedian who is also an actress, writer, producer and director.

She has her own television series called Inside Amy Schumer, which has won several television

awards.

She also wrote and starred in Trainwreck, which released in the summer of 2015.

So I have to preface this by saying that I have never seen her TV shows, her stand-up

acts or her movie.

So I did not have any expectations when I picked up the book.

I say this because some of the reviewers for The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo mention

that they were disappointed with all the serious parts that Schumer snuck into her book.

They thought she should just stick to her comedy side.

I loved those serious places, though.

I thought they were classy, truthful and deep.

I really enjoy when people who are funny can tie their humorous stories into something

meaningful, and Schumer did this well in several different places.

It's not easy to write comedy in the first place.

Not everyone shares the same sense of humor.

But I've read a lot of comedy books that seem to be just empty comedy.

Or they're roasting people.

Or they're writing a book because it's the next thing to do for their career.

Schumer approached her book knowing that she had a greater duty to her public.

She wrote about her relationships and the phenomena of body shaming and her dad's

battle with multiple sclerosis and her eventual acceptance of her body and its imperfections.

She was brutally and refreshingly honest in a heartwarming and funny way, and I was as

encouraged as I was entertained by her words.

It was a great read.

The Bassoon King chronicled Rainn Wilson's journey into acting and also his journey into

faith.

He began at his childhood and walked readers through the twists and turns of his life that

led to acting and, eventually, The Office, one of the most popular television shows in

America.

Periodically throughout the book, Dwight Schrute, which was Wilson's character on The Office,

would put in asides that were typical Dwight-like observations.

It made for hilarious reading.

But interspersed in the hilarious parts, Wilson showed his humanity.

He talked about his wife and his son and the hard parts of his acting journey.

He talked candidly about his journey through faith.

What I also enjoyed about Wilson's book was that he was not afraid to make fun at

himself.

He did not try to pretend like he was one of those awesome people who just made it to

the top with little or no effort.

He worked really hard at becoming an actor and had a hard time embracing his humor side

for a while.

He lets the reader in on all of that struggle, all of that dorkiness, and I appreciate that

he never lost sight of where he began, even though he ended up living a dream.

Here is one of my favorite quotes from The Bassoon King, which happens to be the very

last lines of the book: "When you are able to tell your own story,

you heal yourself.

Therapists work with victims of trauma to tell the story of their life, to help them

own their story, warts and all, and in so doing to find their voice, spirit, and healing.

"Children from every culture and era on Earth have listened with rapt attention to

stories.

All you need is a hero; a beginning, middle, and end; and some kind of surprising twist,

and you've got a story.

You've just read mine.
