Anne: Ah!
Anne: I think some creature bit me!
I think it wants a band-aid.
The sun is setting and we are just starting to vlog.
Ya we are starting to VLOG!
Remember how I said I slept a ton the other day?
so last night I slept nine hours and I
Last night I slept nine hours and I felt
it was maybe two. When I got to work
one of my friends said she is feeling the same way this week.
I'm just really run down. I think I just have a
a virus. So I decided to stay home
from activities tonight with Anne and just rest.
I feel like I could sleep for a million years a million years and I would be fine with it
We did want to tell you we are really
glad that we filmed the stuff about that
nest because the very next day the nest
actually fell due to wind. We went out
there...actually I think it's still there
I'll go show you oh my gosh yeah come on
Anne: Can I come?
Maria: Ya come on!
Anne: YAY!
Look. No nest...and...
Maria: Look. How sad, right?
They must have been really new eggs because they look just
like regular eggs.
One was in there
One fell in there so yeah we're just
kind of sad about that.
We didn't like him up there but we
were going to let them hatch on their own.
We had one last year that was up in
here that an animal got to it. Right up in here.
If you look back at my Instagram from a year ago
there's pictures of the birds that
they actually totally hatched and then just
hadn't been flying yet and some predator got them
It was really sad.
I'm learning how to climb trees
I'm scared to up a tree though.
You climbed a tree a couple years ago!
I did. I climbed a tree when I was in the
fifth grade. That was the last time I
climbed a tree.
Yeah but I can't. I'm scared
to climb a tree though like that
one's too big right? That one has
so many leaves on it.
I can't tell if you guys can even hear
this because the wind is always
moving here.
[beautiful acoustic guitar]
Is it almost summer?
Maria: Almost
Not quite.
I wish.
Last year when Ryan's parents were here we planted a bunch right in here.
And a week later they were killed by hail
So they didn't take.
Obviously it is all full of weeds now
This is the next place once we get the
garden in I want to weed all this out
and put some perennials in here.
We've got a ton of other things we're doing this year.
Anne: Ah!
Maria: What?
Anne: Bit me
Maria: What do you mean "bit you?"
Maria: What bit you?
Anne: Would you please look in there?
Maria: Is there something in there?
Anne: Ya it bit me.
Maria: Are you okay? Let me see your finger.
Anne: Kind of red.
Maria: Where?
Anne: Right here.
Anne: It hurts when you touch it.
Maria: Hold on.
Maria: I don't see anything in there.
Was it a spider that got you?
Anne: Ya I think it is.
Anne: I'm pointing at you.
Maria: Hmm...
We don't know what happened to my finger, right?
Maria: I could feel it. I think it might just be a little cactus thing.
Maria: Let's see if we can get it out.
Maria: Okay?
Anne: [uhh!] Got it out!
Anne: Shhhhh. Shhhh!
Be quiet!
Maria: [whispering] See he's getting low.
Anne: oh!
Maria: There he goes.
Maria: [chuckles] He didn't even let us get close.
Anne: Was that cool?
You guys saw us spray the dandelions in the front yard
We've been trying to get that under control first
before we lay a bunch of seed to get our grass back.
But the back yard is out of control
Last year Anne kicked and spread a bunch of the seeds
Which I know is going to happen anyway especially out here
But you have to see this. It is so bad!
It was not like this last year!
This little section of grass was really healthy last year
It's still healthy. I think that is why the dandelions like it.
You just have to see this.
We have a forest on our hands. [laughter]
Oh my gosh!
It's so bad!
Look at all
those
dandelions
Look at how big these ones are!
[laughter]
Maria: What do you think Anne?
Great! They're not as big as me though.
They're only half your height. Don't worry.
Maria: The chickens wanna say hi.
Maria: Hey ladies
Anne: Hi ladies!
You guys already had food today. You guys are good.
Anne: yeah yeah
Maria: I need to check on Miss Remi though
Maria: We need to make you a cape.
Anne: What cape?
Maria: [sounds distracted] Why is the other side doing that now?
After looking at her closer I'm wondering if
maybe it's because of the rooster.
Because the spot without feathers is on the other side now too.
Anne: Okay I think we need to keep looking for flowers
I think there is some in my thing.
Anne: Hey guys. Let me show you my new...
Maria: [interrupts] Whoa!!
Maria: Don't kick me.
Are you excited to make our rock climbing wall?
Ya! I want it right next to here instead of the garage.
Maria: I think that's a good idea.
Maria: I think it's more fun to have it outside so you can get to it all the time.
Anne: [feigns] I need help.
Whoa!
Maria: Careful!
Anne: Bwa!
I am going to have to blur out so much booty right there! [laughs]
Anne has been asking when the toads are going to come
back out and I'm so excited.
They are only out for a couple weeks when it's the
very very hottest in July we still have
So we still have some some time
But how nice it is right now at dusk makes me very excited for it though.
I love the way this feels
I love how still it is out here
is so beautiful right now
Anne: Did you see that I just flipped?!
Did you see my cartwheel?
Maria: The problem is I keep seeing booty and I can't show that.
Anne: Don't show it K?
Anne: But I'll fix it. Don't worry.
Maria: What's your cartwheel?
Maria: Whooooa!
Anne: That was my cartwheel!
Kids! That was my cartwheel!
Maria: Whoa. Too close. Too close.
Kids do not try this at home.
When you guys are watching this it is tomorrow for us and today for you.
It will be Grandpa Mecham
and my mom's birthday.
It that cool?
Anne: Ya!
[sings quietly] Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!
[sings quietly] Happy Birthday dear Grandpa!
[sings quietly] Happy Birthday to you
Can you give me your loudest, craziest birthday song?
[sings loudly] Happy Birthday to you!!
And the raspberry bushes. It's springs so they should be out soon.
Maria: Sometime soon. Yep. They are doing well.
Maria: Alittle bit of growth right there. See?
A little bit of growth so they're doing okay.
Anne: Cockadoodledoo! Tweet tweet!
[birds chirping loudly in background]
Maria: They're making a ruckus aren't they?
Maria: I wonder if they're mating or something.
Maria: Upon very close inspection
Maria: It does not appear to be a bite.
Maria: I am wondering if it was a pinch or thorn or thistle
that might be in there.
I think some creature bit me.
Maria: You think so?
I think some creature got in there and bit me
Then went through a hole and hid in the sewer.
Maria: I hope not. I don't see a bite.
Maria: That's what was concerning to me I was scared
there was a something that bit 'ya and we'd
have to worry about that. but I see no
Anne: It still hurts though.
Maria: I'm not saying it doesn't hurt. It definitely hurts.
I'm just happy that it's not a spider bite. Okay?
I think it wants a band-aid.
Anne: Who did I get?
Anne: Twinsie!
Anne: So there's two Poppies!
Anne: [makes the Sad Trombone sound] Wha wha wha wha....
Maria: I think you've gotten all of the troll bandaids.
Maria: So Ryan is home if you didn't notice.
Made it home safe and sound.
Maria: Did the Boy Scouts kill you?
Clearly they have not.
Maria: Yet.
Yet. It's true.
I almost used all of the band-aids. There is ONE left!
I hope it's not Poppy. I hope it's Guy Diamond.
Maria: So are you going to earn your check marks tomorrow and clean all of this up?
Anne: yeah
Maria: You better cuz guess who's coming?
Ryan: Sometime soon.
Anne: If I fill the whole thing up I get
an egg surprise, Troll blind bag, or new Troll slippers or something.
Ryan: Or anything you want to buy with the money you earn
Maria: If you've noticed it's Wednesday.
and you have made the bed
and you've been doing the chickens...
Maria: What's the other one she scratched out?
Ryan: That's watering the plants.
Maria: You may notice that cleaning her room and
picking up toys has not been on the list
lately so the toys are kind of making
Ryan: It's driving me insane.
Maria: Plus I have stuff over here I need to put away.
Maria: Ya. It's kind of everywhere.
Anne: [singing a bit funky] Happy Birth-day to them! Happy Birth-Day to them!
[spoken] Happy birthday to them!
And thank you for watching! Bye!
[Ryan and Maria laugh]
Anne: Pringles!
Ryan: I won't forget the Pringles! I love you.
Ryan: I'll be back! Okay?
You be good for Mom! [Anne giggles]
[giggles] Bye!!
