Youtube daily or May 23 2017

I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge 3/4 inch

D-Shackles, fitting all 1987 and up Wranglers.

These are available in the red color that you see here, they're also available in black

or in a silver with a red pin.

So you can get whatever ones look best with your build.

Today we're gonna talk through how to use a D-Shackle like this, what they're used for,

and how to use them safely, as well as some of the features and the construction of these

ones in particular.

For those of you who go off-road, a D-Shackle like this is going to be useful in recovery

situations.

Whether you're using a self-recovery winch attached to a tree or to another Jeep, or

you might even be using a snatch strap or a tow strap for your recovery, attaching those

straps or winch lines with a D-ring is a very secure and easy way to do so.

Some people do use tow hooks and you can certainly do that, but especially with something like

a snatch strap that's designed to have a little bit of slack in it and then be pulled taut,

having a D-ring ensures that the loop of the strap is going to stay exactly where you put

it until you want to remove it, which is why I really like using D-rings on a specific

shackle mount versus a hook in most situations.

Now those of you who don't go off-road might still have an off-road style bumper with some

shackle mounts on it, and those mounts might look a little bit funny without the actual

D-rings in them, so these can be picked up for just a few dollars and added to your Jeep

as well to give you a little bit more of that off-road look.

And that's why these come in a few different colors, not because one works better than

the other, obviously, but because a lotta people are just running these for the looks.

As it says in the title, this is a three-quarter inch shackle, and it has a 9,500 pound working

load limit.

And three-quarter inch is a pretty standard size.

You can always take a measurement of the hole that you have in the shackle mount on your

bumper to ensure that these are going to fit, but again, three-quarter is going to work

for the vast majority of the bumpers and the mounts that are out there, you can certainly

get some larger ones that are 12,000 pounds or even more of a working load limit, but

for most of us, these are gonna work just fine.

Now you have to figure that if you are stuck up to the axles in mud, you have another Jeep

using a snatch strap for recovery, you are gonna have some pretty serious stress on the

shackles.

So don't skimp on these.

Make sure you're gonna get one that is going to be able hold up to the weight of your Jeep

as well as any additional weight from whatever situation you're in when you're stuck.

Of course there isn't much of an installation for a D-Shackle like this, a lot of us will

just leave them attached to the bumper all the time, either because we like the look

or because it's just convenient to have them there.

Others don't like to leave them on the bumper because they can rattle a little bit, they

might be worried bout them vibrating loose or somebody taking them off your Jeep in a

parking lot.

So some of us will just keep them in our recovery bag.

Either way, these are going to be something that's very easy to attach and unattach from

your Jeep, they have a threaded pin on the one end, you can remove, go through your tow

strap or your winch line and right on to your D-ring mount on your front or your rear bumper.

You can attach a couple of these together, you can really have a lot of flexibility with

how these are gonna get used.

This is also something you'll use to attach your tree saver to a tree or to a snatch block,

again, these have a lot of uses in a recovery situation and you really can't have too many

of these in your recover bag.

These D-Shackles come in at right around $26 for the pair, which is really the going rate.

Of course the ones that have a higher pulling capacity or that are made of stainless steel

for instance, are going to be more expensive, but this is more or less the going rate for

a pair of 9,500 lb. three-quarter inch shackles.

Now whether you want the black, the red, or the silver with the red pins, they're gonna

be right around the same price, but do consider that if you're getting the powder-coated version

because you like the look of them but you also plan on using them off-road, there's

always a chance that a winch line or a snatch strap line is going to rub a little bit of

that powder coat off.

So if you're looking for some D-Shackles to add on to your bumper to make it look complete

or because you just need a couple extras to throw in your recovery bag for the next time

you're stuck off-road, I think this is going to be an affordable and quality option.

So that's my review of the Rugged Ridge 3/4 inch D-Shackle, fitting all 1987 and up Wrangler,

that you can find right here at extremeterrain.com.

Why LawBreakers is heading to PC and PS4 instead of Xbox One or Switch - Duration: 2:01.

Xbox One and Nintendo gamers are going to miss out on Cliff Bleszinski's new game — at least at launch.

LawBreakers, a new character-based shooter (think Overwatch), is going to launch on both PC and Sony's PlayStation 4 later this year. It doesn't have an official release date, but it is currently in beta testing on PC and it should get a test on PS4 as wel

But what about Xbox One or Nintendo Switch? Well, the studio is not actively working to bring LawBreakers to Xbox or Switch alongside the PC/PS4 releases. When asked if that was something that could eventually happen, the Gears of War designer and cofounder of Boss Key Productions didn't commit to anything.

"Anything's possible," said Bleszinski. As for why Boss Key chose PlayStation 4 over Microsoft's or Nintendo's machines, the company had a simple answer.

We liked PlayStation best at that point in time," Boss Key chief operating officer Arjan Brussee said. "And we had great conversations with Sony." Brussee explained that the PS4 and PC are enough to keep the Boss Key team busy

We needed to focus," he said. " We can't do everything at the same time. We're not Call of Duty, with a five studios and a thousand people. So, yeah, we just focused on PlayStation 4. And PlayStation 4 has a lot of different configurations. It's almost like mini PCs with different versions, specs, and resolutions. So, already, PlayStation 4 is not just PS4 — it's Pro as well. It's not simple."

And that amount of work on top of ensuring the PC and PS4 versions launch at the same time is already taxing Boss Key enough. "We're a small studio," said Bleszinski. "We have 65 people, and they work hard around here."

And the studio wants to put maximize their efforts, so — for now — that means no Xbox One or Switch versions of Lawbreakers.

Reincarnation & Why Bad Things Happen To Good People | Jagad Guru Siddhaswarupananda - Duration: 24:28.

Jagad Guru: Have you ever wondered why bad things happen to good people good or innocent

people?

Today we're going to be talking about this subject in connection with reincarnation.

Let me read a letter that I received recently from a viewer.

It's from a woman whose eight year old son recently died of cancer and she's experiencing

extreme sorrow.

She's very distraught.

She says, "My eight year old son recently died of cancer.

He suffered greatly.

You teach that we should love God, but why and how can I love someone Who let such a

horrible thing happen to someone so innocent?

His life was cut off before he could even enjoy it.

It's unfair.

Frankly, I am beginning to question the very existence of God.

And if God does exist I must question whether or not He is

all-powerful or if He's all-wise or if He is truly compassionate and loving."

You know, this woman's reaction is very typical of what a lot of us experience.

You know, everyone of us must... we must have experienced, even if it's only through the

newspapers, we experience people who are apparently innocent, especially children, people who

are innocent or apparently innocent or good people and something bad happens to them.

And when this happens we have certain reactions concerning this in connection with our ideas

of God.

In other words, we start to doubt, we start to have doubts about God, either His existence

or whatever it is.

And that's what I wanted to get at here.

What are some of the things that are expressed in this lady's letter and that we experience

when something bad happens to someone who is good?

Audience: That there is no God.

Jagad Guru: Yes.

One... the most common reaction is that there can't be a God.

And this, of course, is the basis for many atheists' belief that there is no God.

In fact, one of the main things the atheist will say if you say to them, you know, you

try to tell them that God exists, they say, "Listen.

There can't be a God.

If there was why would there be so many things wrong in the world?

Why would there be so many things wrong, you know?

I mean, it's..." right?

Audience: Yes.

Jagad Guru: I mean... what else...?

So this is the first thing, that God doesn't exist, okay?

If we accept the existence of God, however, and something bad happens like this and we

accept, "Yes, God does exist," how do we respond?

What's another way we respond?

Yes?

Audience: That God is cruel, that He doesn't mind if we suffer and that He really doesn't

love us.

Jagad Guru: Right.

That God doesn't care if we suffer.

In other words, either God doesn't care that we suffer or He cares but He likes it.

(laughter) In other words...

He's a sadist.

In other words, "God, how could you let this thing happen?"

Like this lady, she's writing sincerely, "How could God let this happen?

If God really was caring, a caring person, a caring entity, if He really cared, if He

felt love, then why... how could He possibly let this happen?"

And they can't understand, "How could God care," you know, "and still let this happen?"

And you experience being angry in a sense, being incensed that, "God!

How could You let this happen?

I mean, don't You have any feelings," right?

Because we experience...

what do we experience when something happens like that?

No, no, no, no.

When a...

Audience: Compassion.

Jagad Guru: You experience compassion.

When something bad happens to a good person you experience compassion, you feel sorry,

"Oh, this is so unfortunate," and... you feel sorry inside.

It hurts you, right, and so then you're thinking, "How come it doesn't hurt God?

How come He doesn't care?"

In other words, you start thinking of yourself as being more compassionate than God.

That you are more sensitive than God is, that you love this person who was hurt more than

God loves that person.

This person who suffered, the child with cancer, who died of cancer at eight years old, you

love this person more than God loves them.

God doesn't really care.

And not only does God not love your son, God doesn't love you either because He's making

you suffer the loss of your son.

So God... in other words, if we accept, "Yes, God exists," but then we start thinking of

God's character, His attributes, one of His characteristics is He doesn't care, He doesn't

have compassion.

Either that... it's even maybe even worse; maybe He's just a sadist.

He likes to see little children suffering.

This is what some people conclude, you see?

Or what else?

What's another reaction, possible reason why God would let this happen?

Audience: Maybe He's not all-powerful, maybe He can't do anything about it.

Jagad Guru: Maybe He loves... in other words, maybe He's compassionate still?

Audience: Possibly, yes, but He's not powerful enough.

Jagad Guru: Right.

In other words, there's another way to go about this, or another reaction one might

have and this is called trying to solve the problem of evil or trying to solve the problem

of suffering.

And that is by concluding, as one Jewish scholar or rabbi did recently in a book that was entitled,

'Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good People?', his solution to this problem, this theological

problem, right, of why bad things happen to good people is... his solution was, he concluded

that God loves us but He's not all-powerful and therefore even though He would like for

bad things not to happen, you see, He'd like for bad things not to happen, still they happen

anyway because He can't do anything about it.

That He just doesn't have... it's just gotten out of hand.

(laughter) In other words... so they begin to deny the all-powerful, the all-powerful

nature of the Supreme Being, that there is no supreme controller, there is no... in other

words, in that sense, there is no God because when we talk about God we're talking about

someone Who is all-powerful as well as all-loving, you see?

But when they're faced with the situation, when a person is faced with the situation

where something bad happens to someone good they start doubting, that either... they think,

"Either God does not love me," or, "love this person.

He's not a loving entity.

He does not care," or they think He cares, He loves, but He doesn't have the power to

do anything about it, right?

And there's another possibility, and that is He's not wise.

He's...

He maybe doesn't see it or something.

So what are these reactions based upon, okay, what are they based upon?

Audience: This world's here for our enjoyment.

Jagad Guru: What's that?

Audience: This world's here for our enjoyment.

Jagad Guru: Right.

It's based upon our idea of our relationship with God and our relationship with this world.

In other words, why do you think that you exist?

Why do you think God exists?

In other words, why does... no use bothering thinking why does God exist because that's

the reality.

But why does this world and you exist?

Why do you exist in this world?

What is the... in other words, what's the relationship between this world, God and you

and others, okay?

Why do most people, probably most of you here and those of you at home, why do you think

God made this world and why are you in it?

What's the purpose of this whole trip here?

Audience: To enjoy it.

Jagad Guru: Huh?

Audience: To enjoy it.

Jagad Guru: Why did God make it?

Audience: So we could enjoy.

Jagad Guru: God made...

God created this world so that you could enjoy it, right?

This is the concept that most people have.

They believe that God created this world so that we could be the lords and enjoyers of it.

Our purpose in life is to enjoy the world.

God's purpose in life is to help us enjoy.

(laughter) Right?

"He created this world for us to enjoy; He's very kind, He has given us this world to enjoy,"

right?

Audience: Right.

Jagad Guru: What happens then when things go sour and we don't enjoy ourselves, in other

words, we suffer.

What happens?

Audience: It's God's fault. Blame God.

(Laughter)

Jagad Guru: It's God's fault.

God screwed up, okay?

(laughter) So we believe that God created this world for our enjoyment, that we are

our material bodies, that I am my body.

You see, you probably believe that you are your body and therefore you believe that,

you know, this world is meant for you to enjoy and that, in fact, God's purpose is to make

it so that you can enjoy in this world.

But then you run into this problem of suffering, right?

You keep suffering and you see other people suffering, right?

And this is what we call, what?

Bad. (laughter)

Really what it comes right down to it, what's bad?

Audience: The suffering.

Jagad Guru: Suffering.

And not existing in this world: death.

Because God created you... you are your body, remember?

This is what they teach you, this is what you believe, that you are your body, God created

you, okay, and He created this world for you to enjoy.

However, a couple problems here.

One: your body is destined for death.

Every body has died, okay?

It's inbuilt, built into this creation, and you in it, is that it's temporary.

Your body is temporary, you're not going to survive, okay?

Bad means that you don't get to live here.

Good means you get to live here, right?

This is based upon the illusion that this is your home.

You are your body, this material world is your home and your happiness will come from

living here and enjoying your senses in this world, right?

And God is good, "Thank You, God," when He helps you enjoy, "Oh, thank You God for helping

me enjoy.

Thank You God for giving me this and giving me that," right?

So then when you get kicked out of this world God's being bad, something bad is happening, okay?

When your body starts falling apart, oh, this is bad, okay?

You don't understand, "Oh, there's suffering in this world!

I don't understand it!"

Why are you so confused about the reality of suffering in this world?

It's because it contradicts your belief that this world is supposed to be a place of enjoyment

created by the perfect creator.

God's supposed to be perfect and He's a perfect creator and He created this perfect world

and yet it's full of suffering, and you don't understand it.

How can a bad thing happen to good people, right?

Well, since just about everybody thinks that their son is good, right?

Everybody thinks their son is good, right?

Or their daughter is good or their parents are good, and since we all get smashed in

the end, you know, we all die, we all experience diseases and old age and death, what to speak

of the toothaches and stomach aches, okay, that means bad things are happening

to good people all the time, right?

Audience: Right.

Jagad Guru: I mean, your bad person is my good guy, right?

(laughter) You know?

So that means God screwed up.

We start thinking that God is, what?

Audience: Incompetent.

Jagad Guru: Incompetent.

He's a lousy creator. (laughter)

He created this world as a place of enjoyment for us and it's a place of misery.

So God is not a perfect God.

God is a lousy creator.

Either that, either God's a lousy creator or He's stupid, He didn't know what He was

doing, "Oh, I'm sorry, you guys," (laughter) or He's a sadist.

He created suffering, He made it so that there is suffering on purpose so that He could watch,

(laughter) you see, and go... you know, a sadist: He likes to see people suffering.

He does not love us therefore He created a world where we would suffer, you see?

Right? Audience: Right.

(laughter)

Jagad Guru: This is all based on ignorance.

In reality you are spirit soul in essence, you're not your material body.

You are eternal.

You have existed eternally.

You are not matter, you are spirit.

You are part and parcel of God, you're part and parcel of the Supreme Spirit.

THIS place, this place made of matter, this is not your real home.

This is a foreign place.

You are eternal but this world, all of the bodies in this world, everything in this world

is temporary.

This is not your natural habitat.

You're a fish and you're out of the water.

Your real home is in the world of spirit, the kingdom of God, but now you're in this

temporary material world.

Why did God create this temporary world?

Why did He create it so that it was temporary?

Why did He create these material forms?

Why are you in this material form?

Why are you suffering, experiencing birth, diseases, old age and death?

Why are all these people here in all these bodies?

What is the real purpose for the existence of this material dimension and why is it a

place of suffering?

And what do you do about it?

Your true essence is spirit.

You are a part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, the Supreme Spirit Soul, you are a child of

God.

God lives in His kingdom eternally and He is enjoying Himself there, He's completely

satisfied living in His world, living in His dimension where everyone in His dimension

is engaging in His loving service.

In other words, everyone in the spiritual world LOVES to serve God.

You are part and parcel of God.

You belong in that world, you belong in the kingdom of God engaging in the loving service

of God and experiencing your natural happiness in connection with your loving service to Him.

This is your real identity.

You are spirit, your natural function is to engage in the loving service of the Supreme Spirit.

However because you and every single person in this world, because you experience

envy of God, you want, yourself... you don't want to be the servant of God, you want to

BE God, because you have a desire to be the lord, to be the enjoyer, to be the master,

okay, because you have this desire therefore you are placed in the material dimension,

you are placed in the material world.

You enter the world of material nature.

You come under the laws of material nature, sometimes called the laws of karma.

You become under the laws of cause and effect, action and reaction.

This is called being under the laws of material nature or being bound on the wheel of birth

and death.

In this condition every person who comes in this world must suffer.

We experience birth, and this is a suffering condition.

We experience growing old, this is a suffering condition.

We experience our bodies having disease, this is a suffering condition.

And finally we experience being kicked out of this world and having to take on another

material body.

This is called death and this death is a suffering experience.

So throughout this world we experience birth, diseases, old age and death, we always suffer

in this world.

This world is a place of suffering.

Why is it a place of suffering?

It is a place of suffering because it is meant to be temporary.

This world is not meant to be eternal.

This is that section of God's kingdom where temporariness is the law, where time is the

master and we come under the laws of time.

In other words, God creates this material dimension not for our enjoyment but, rather,

for our attempted enjoyment, so that we could attempt to imitate God and be the Supreme

Lord and enjoyer.

But, in fact, because we're not God and because we can't really be happy playing the role

of the supreme enjoyer and master, built into this world, God has made it...

God has created this world so built in it is a certain amount of suffering, built in

it, it's temporary.

So that we can gradually be educated so that we wonder, "Why am I suffering?

Why is this world temporary?

Is this my real home?

Is trying to be the lord and enjoyer my real function?"

In other words, pain or suffering has a purpose.

The pain and suffering that's built into this world has a purpose and that purpose is to

make us question whether or not this is our real home or not, you see?

Pain has a purpose.

Not all pain is bad, you know?

One time I gave the example that if you were... if you didn't have the feeling of pain of

the sensation of burning, for example, your hand burning... let's say, for example, my...

there's a candle here or a little fire here and my hand's like this, you know?

If I didn't have the sensation of pain my hand would burn off and then it would bleed

to death or get infected but I wouldn't know it was infected because it wasn't painful.

I would never get it fixed and therefore I would have to leave this body, right?

So pain has a purpose.

So, oh, I move my hand, right?

In other words, it teaches me to do something.

I react to that pain.

So we have to learn how to accept that pain is built into this world and it will always

be here.

You understand this?

It's part of this world and it should point out to us that this is not our real home.

If, for example, someone comes into this world and only lives here for five years and after

their body's five years old for some reason they have to leave this world.

Because, in fact, the reason that person had to leave this world is based upon their own

karmic reaction, due to their own karma, due to their own past activities, in other words,

now they are experiencing according to the laws of material nature, they have a reaction.

"As you sow, so shall you reap."

This is the cause and effect.

So this person then leaves this body and he takes on another body.

In any case there is no real difference because no matter whether a person has on a body here

or he takes on a body in another place, in another part of the material dimension, he

still suffers birth, disease, old age and death.

So you should not be thinking that, "Oh, he would have been so happy if he could live

here forever," because, in fact, that's not the purpose of the world, that's not the purpose

of existence.

The purpose of existence is to develop our love for God, develop our remembrance of our

identity as sparks of God so that we can leave this temporary material dimension and go back

to the kingdom of God.

The purpose of this world is not just to enjoy ourselves to the fullest because this world

is a place of suffering.

Do you understand this?

Audience: Yes.

Jagad Guru: Alright.

So are there any other questions in this?

Yes.

Audience: If God is not responsible for bad happenings does it also mean that He's also

not responsible for good happenings?

Jagad Guru: Right.

He's not responsible for good or bad happenings.

God is not responsible for the reactions that someone has.

Sometimes you have a good reaction, you know, you get maybe... you strike it rich, okay?

That's not God being good to you.

You know, you may say, "Oh, thanks God for being good to me," but it's not God being

good to you.

It's due to your own past previous activities.

It's your good karma.

And when bad things happen to you don't think that God's being bad to you.

When good things happen to someone else, whether it's your child or your father or a stranger

don't think that, you know, that God's being bad to that person or if good things happen

that God's being, you know, good to that person.

The fact is each of us is under the laws of material nature, the laws of karma, we're

sowing and we're reaping according to how we have sown, okay?

So don't, you know, keep thinking that God's, you know, arbitrarily being good to some people

and being bad to other people and being cruel and being nice.

That's just not the reality.

Yes, anyone else?

We got a couple...

Audience: So can meditation help me be free from reincarnating and being under karmic

law?

Jagad Guru: Yes.

Meditation really means focusing your heart, your mind, your entire being upon the Supreme

Lord, your relationship with the Supreme Lord.

And when you develop this relationship, when you come to understand this relationship then

you live upon this reality, you see?

And then when you leave this body you go back to God because you have developed your attachment

to God, you have made it so that you're no longer attached to this world.

If you're not attached to this world you don't come back here.

In other words, when you begin to taste love for God then it becomes a greater

flavor, a greater happiness to you, there's greater happiness in that, developing your

love for God, that taste of love for God, it's a greater happiness than the happiness

that you get from trying to be the lord of the world.

And so that at the time of death when you leave this body you have

now, you have no more karmic reaction to have to come back and experience

and you go back to God because you're more attached to God than you are to trying to

be the lord of this world.

Yes, one last question.

Yes?

Audience: Yes, I understand that this material world is not our home but can't a person still

be happy while we're here?

Jagad Guru: You can be happy while you're here if you're developing your relationship

with God while you're here.

Try to understand that God is the most lovable entity.

The fact is is that God IS all-powerful and God is also all-loving and He is all-lovable.

He's the most powerful yet He's the most lovable and the most loving Person.

God is a person and you are a person and you'll be happy when you have developed your love

for this Supreme Person Who is your natural relative.

He is the Supreme Father, the Supreme Friend.

Don't be in the illusion that God is somehow not perfect.

The fact is God is perfect.

God is your perfect Friend.

You should learn how to meditate upon this Supreme perfect Friend.

Cultivate, develop your attachment for Him, your love for Him and in this way you'll be

happy now.

You'll be happy now and at the time of death you'll be able to leave your body and go back

to Him and be happy later on too, you see?

No more reincarnation.

So through meditation you develop your love for God, you live for God really; in that

way you're happy here, even though there is death in this world you still experience happiness

because you know, "I'm not this body.

I'm the eternal servant of God," and you taste that happiness of love for God even while

you're here you're serving Him.

And then when you leave your body you go back to Him.

That's all the time we have.

Thank you very much.

Who Gets Sued - The Lender or the Owner? - Duration: 0:53.

Let's say I go to your home and I'm playing in the backyard.

And then I slip, I fall, and I break my elbow.

And God forbid from that point forward I can't write, but you know I need to write for my seminars

so I am ruined.

I can sue you, but I cannot sue your lender that gave you your loan on the property.

I cannot sue Bank of America.

You understand that?

Because that is a lender.

So the lender cannot be sued.

It's the owner of the property.

That's why the lender says you can get sued and there could be a problem.

We don't really care, but we want you to get insured.

ISRAEL: 5-22-17. PM Netanyahu Remarks Only At Press Conference with Donald Trump. - Duration: 4:43.

- [Announcer] Please rise and welcome

the President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump,

and the Prime Minister of the State of Israel,

Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu.

(applause)

- Thank you.

- President Trump, Donald, Sara and I

are absolutely delighted to welcome you

and Melania to the Prime Minister's residence

in Jerusalem, the eternal capitol of the Jewish people,

the united capitol of the Jewish state.

We've known each other for many years,

and it's always good to see you,

but it's also wonderful to see the blossoming friendship

between our two beautiful wives, Sara and Melania.

You are so welcome here, and we are so pleased to see you.

We're honored to have you in our home.

You've been today, Mr. President, to the Western Wall,

one of the holiest sites of Judaism.

You've been to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher,

one of the holiest sites of Christianity.

We protect the Christian sites as no one else does,

anywhere in this region, we protect Christian sites,

Muslim sites, obviously Jewish sites.

We're committed to the freedom of all faiths

and to the rights of all.

Mr. President, I appreciate the fact

that you went to the Western Wall,

and you are the first acting President who's done that.

The people of Israel applaud you for it.

(applause)

We had a terrific discussion today,

and when I say terrific, it encompasses everything.

We could talk about deregulation,

we could talk about economics.

I think we quote each other, we understand each other.

And so much of the things that we wish to accomplish

for both our countries.

But I want to thank you especially today

for your deep commitment to Israel's security,

its well-being and its future.

I have no doubt that as we work together, you and I,

the alliance between our countries will grow ever stronger.

I want you to know how much we appreciate the change

in American policy on Iran, which you enunciated

so clearly just an hour ago.

I want you to know how much we appreciate your bold decision

to act against the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

And I want to tell you also how much we appreciate

the reassertion of American leadership in the Middle East.

I look forward to working closely with you

to confront the dangers we face together

in this violent and volatile Middle East.

I believe that together we could roll back Iran's march

of aggression and terror in this region,

and we can thwart Iran's unbridled ambition

to become a nuclear weapon state.

I also look forward to working closely with you

to advance peace in our region,

because you have noted so succinctly

that common dangers are turning former enemies

into partners, and that's where we see something new,

and potentially something very promising.

It won't be simple, but for the first time in many years,

and Mr. President, for the first time in my lifetime,

I see a real hope for change.

The Arab leaders who you met yesterday

could help change the atmosphere,

and they could help create the conditions

for a realistic peace.

These are all great signs on your historic visit.

It's a visit that I think has echoed down the ages,

because the great Abraham Lincoln is reported

to have said that there was no city on earth

he so much desired to see as Jerusalem.

Well, Mr. President, Donald, there's no city on earth

where you are more welcome than right here

with us in Jerusalem.

Welcome to Jerusalem, welcome to Israel.

(applause)

- Thank you very much, and it's a great honor

to be with my good friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu,

and of course, Sara, thank you.

And also thank you for that beautiful tour.

Melania's still talking about it.

So thank you very much.

You honored me and Melania by being one

of the first world leaders to visit the White House,

as you know, and we had a very good and sound discussion.

And now you honor us again by welcoming us

to your home on my first trip abroad

as the President of the United States.

This is a land filled with beauty,

wonder, and the Spirit of God.

I've been amazed by the glorious and beautiful monuments

and holy sites and the generosity

of your incredible people. - Thank you.

- Because it's all about the people.

I was deeply moved by my visit today to the Western Wall.

Words fail to capture the experience.

It will leave an impression on me forever.

Today we reaffirmed the unbreakable bond of friendship

between Israel and the United States,

a friendship built on our shared love of freedom,

our shared belief in human dignity,

and our shared hope for an Israel at lasting peace.

We want Israel to have peace.

But we are more than friends, we are great allies.

We have so many opportunities in front of us,

but we must seize them together.

We must take advantage of the situation,

and there are many, many things that can happen now

that would never have been able to happen before,

and we understand that very well.

That includes advancing prosperity,

defeating the evils of terrorism,

and facing the threat of an Iranian regime

that is threatening the region

and causing so much violence and suffering.

During my travels, I have seen many hopeful signs

that lead me to believe that we can truly achieve

a more peaceful future for this region

and for people of all faiths and all beliefs,

and frankly, all over the world.

In my visit to Saudi Arabia, I met with many leaders

of the Arab and Muslim world,

including King Salman, who treated us so beautifully,

and really wants to see great things happen

for the world, he really does.

I got to know him well, and he really does.

These leaders voiced concerns we all share

about ISIS, about Iran's rising ambitions,

and rolling back its gains, and about the menace

of extremism that has spread through too many parts

of the Muslim world.

I'm encouraged that they pledged cooperation

to confront terrorism and the hateful ideology

that drives it so hard.

America welcomes the action and support

of any nation willing to do the hard but vital work

in eradicating the violent ideologies

that have caused to much needless bloodshed and killing

here and all over the world.

We are willing to work together.

I believe that a new level of partnership is possible

and will happen, one that will bring greater safety

to this region, greater security to the United States,

and greater prosperity to the world.

This includes a renewed effort at peace

between the Israelis and the Palestinians,

and I thank the Prime Minister for his commitment

to pursuing the peace process.

He's working very hard at it, it's not easy.

I've heard it's one of the toughest deals of all,

but I have a feeling that we're gonna get there eventually,

I hope. - Thank you.

- I'm certain we will have very productive discussions,

and we're going to have very productive discussions,

in my opinion, with the leaders of other nations also.

And I feel strongly about that,

because there's a lot of love out there,

and people from all nations, even nations

that you would be surprised to hear,

they want to stop the killing, they've had enough.

America stands ready to assist in every way we can.

Our deep and lasting friendship will only grow deeper

and stronger as we work together in the days ahead.

I thank you again for hosting us in this beautiful

and ancient land, truly it's a land of wonders.

And it's my honor to be here with you.

Sara, thank you, Bibi, thank you.

I appreciate it very much, great honor, thank you.

- Thank you.

(applause)

Where would you like us to stand?

- There. - There.

(drowned out by photographers)

- [Man] Thank you very much.

Thank you, thank you very much.

- Thank you, thank you.

How to Convert files from one DTD to another DTD - Duration: 3:05.

Hello.

I am John from Publishing Production Education, sponsored by Santype International.

Today I am discussing converting files from one DTD to another DTD.

When a conversion takes place, do you need to start all over again?

Could the conversion introduce potential errors?

I know there are a lot of questions about DTD conversion.

As a reminder, DTD means document type definition.

A DTD defines the structure and the legal elements and attributes of an XML document.

With a DTD, independent groups of people can agree on a standard DTD for interchanging

data.

It is in the SGML markup language family (such as XML or HTML).

An XML document can be created using a Word file, an editable PDF, or InDesign or Quark

application file.

Tagging guidelines specific to the DTD need to be followed.

There are many different DTDs that you might use.

One example is JATS or Journal Article Tag Suite which is used with technical or scientific

literature published online.

Others include: DocBook, TEI, or NCBI Book Tag Set.

So, let's assume you have XML content that is already in one DTD but needs to be converted

to a different DTD, either because it is legacy product or because your organization is changing

platforms or systems.

If you have numerous documents to convert, you will likely use a publishing services

company or partner.

Batch conversion is probably the best route which means converting all of the files electronically

at once without manual work.

First, the publishing services partner will analyze the files and use an existing conversion

tool.

If necessary, a custom conversion tool can be created.

The time to convert any one article is relatively short; a few minutes or less.

The good news is there is no need to start from scratch with the original source XML.

A conversion can ensure a quality product compared to the original DTD.

Also, good news is that the content is not altered during the process.

The changes are made to the semantic tags, while transforming from one DTD to another.

The structure of the document is validated as per the new DTD.

Of course, a quality control check will be needed to ensure the smooth transition, but

this is to be expected.

The costs, when done as batches and from one DTD to another, are relatively modest, perhaps

two US dollars per averaged-sized article for header-only XML or slightly more for full

text.

That wraps up our question today.

Can I Lose Weight By Walking? - Duration: 2:57.

Walking is one of the first exercises we learned.

It's impossible to calculate the number of steps we have walked in our lifetime.

As we get older, we tend to sit more.

If we were to pay closer attention to this simple safe exercise we may do more of it.

Depending upon how often you walk, you may be able to shed one pound or more a week.

Doing the math, that could equal 20 pounds in five months, without dieting or going to

a gym.

And as those pounds fall away, you will be toning your muscles.

Also, as you incorporate this routine into your lifestyle, your overall health will improve.

Before long, you'll be hooked.

In today's video we will take out a calculator to discover the best way to melt away those

unwanted pounds by walking.

So how many calories can you burn?

This is determined by your weight and pace.

If a person walks four miles an hour, which is a normal walking rate, you will burn about

400 calories.

And walking three miles will burn and extra 300 per day.

One thing you may find that will serve as an incentive is to use a pedometer throughout

your entire day.

Checking the pedometer will encourage you to increase your pace or distance.

If you notice that you aren't able to lose weight and are only maintaining it, just increase

your daily distance or speed.

Here's a simple formula to remember:

1 Mile = 2,000 steps to burn 100 calories 1 Pound = 3,500 calories

1 Pound weight loss per week = 500 calorie deficit per day

To lose 1 pound per week add 10,000 steps

Here are a few tips on how to add 10,000 to your daily schedule.

At the mall or grocery, park at the farthest space and walk

Get off the bus at an earlier stop and walk Take the stairs when you can

In bad climate weather, become a mall walker

To obtain optimal benefits from your walk, be sure to maintain the proper posture:

Keep your chin up Focus your eyes 10 feet ahead

Take long strides Draw your abdomen toward your spine

Squeeze those glutes

Begin your walking regiment at 3 days a week, for 15 to 20 minutes a day.

Gradually increase this to 30 to 60 minutes daily.

Before long, you will enjoy a new you.

5 BIGGEST MISTAKES WHEN WEARING A DRESS WATCH! - DRESSY vs SPORT WATCH DEBATE - Duration: 9:36.

[intro music]

Alright, so today we're gonna be going over the difference between a dress watch and a

sports watch.

Now, this is an important thing you want to focus on because if you're active participant

in the Watch Game, this could make a big difference on the effect you're trying to project.

Let me give you guys an example and tell you a quick story.

One day, I was going to attend a wedding here in Miami and it was one of those days where

you just have so many things to do that, before you know it, I was getting dressed for the

wedding.

And, when I put my suit on and I went to grab my watch, I realized that I did not go to

the bank that day and pick up my dress watch.

So my options were limited and when I mean limited, I'm talking about extremely.

The only thing I had that day to wear was, don't even ask why ask this watch, cuz I don't

want to get into that topic either, but it was a Yacht-Master II two-tone.

So me being a watch guy at heart, I said, Man, I can't go without a watch.

I don't wanna be without a watch.

I feel like with no weapon! So I pretty much wore the watch.

Needless to say, an hour and a half into the reception, I felt like a complete idiot.

I felt like the watch was too big.

It doesn't go with anything.

It's just completely the wrong watch to wear.

Why?

It was the wrong size.

It was 44 millimeters.

Totally the wrong size watch if you want it to be a dress watch.

I think a dress watch should always be maximum 40, 41 mm.

You know, in that area.

Maximum, because really you're gonna wanna be under that.

A number 2 thing that's very important is on a strap.

It should be on a strap.

Whether it's calf, alligator, crocodile, you need it to be on a strap.

Another important thing for me is one type of metal.

That day it was a two-tone, stainless steel and rose gold, incorrect!

I think you should stick to one color metal, would be the ideal scenario.

So you wanna avoid these mistakes and some of you guys might not even know this, but

not every watch can be worn for everything.

That particular watch, the ideal watch that I would have like to have been wearing, would

have been a Sky-Dweller on a strap.

Yes, I get it.

It's over 40 millimeter.

Whatever!

Rolex is very conservative, but it's nowhere compared to that 44-mm Yachtmaster I had.

I had, by far, the worst possible watch in my opinion for that scenario.

I felt like a complete idiot, so these are things you wanna think of.

In a good watch collection, you should always have a dress watch.

If you have a very young collection, where you don't have that dress watch yet, then

perhaps maybe you want a versatile watch.

For example, one sports watch that happens a diver watch that I feel can be used for

almost everything is the Submariner in stainless steel.

Can't go wrong with it.

You could dress it up.

You could dress it down.

It's one of those watches that does it all.

For example, gold Sub is not the same.

I just don't feel like it's the same.

This is a watch that I feel works better in shorts, very casual wear.

Doesn't give you the most effect in a formal situation.

Now, to throw a whole another extreme...the Presidential.

The Presidential is that one watch that I feel always looks dressy in a suit.

It's one of the few dress watches on a bracelet that I like.

Whereas I would, yes, rather have a Sky-Dweller on a strap or a great Daytona on a strap,

even though it's a Chrono.

You know, sports model?

But the Presidential is one of those watches you get away with and you can also dress it

down.

So, it's an ongoing topic, dressy versus sporty.

When a guy comes in to the store and he's trying to buy his first watch and I say, Listen,

do you wanna go dressy or do you wanna go sporty? That's a very important question.

If a guy is always in a kind of like an office situation, then he might go dressy if you're

gonna use it for work.

If he's only gonna use it to go out at night, to go to nice dinners and stuff like that,

again, you wanna maybe go a little bit dressy.

But if you're gonna wear it all the time, then you kinda wanna go with something that

works for both.

Now, I'll give you another example where you have two watches that, in my opinion, are

two different extremes.

The Pakte 5980.

Now in a perfect world, which we don't live in, both of these watches are bad ass and

you could do whatever you want with it.

But I wanna tell you something, if I was gonna wear a suit, the one I always have is this

one.

The strap is the way to go.

The strap, even though it's a chrono, does make it look dressy, whereas on a bracelet,

for me, it just gets more sporty.

Kinda something you wanna wear more casual.

So those are things that you wanna think about when you are selecting a watch.

Dress watches man, sometimes the simpler the watch, the better.

This is a topic that we can go on in circles all day.

You could make us sit there and say, No, because the most dressy watch is the simplest

watch. I don't see nothing wrong wearing a Patek Sky Moon in a suit.

Nothing simple about that watch.

It's full-blown complications on that.

So, this is a topic that we could go over and over and go all over the place with.

But I wanna just keep it as simple as possible.

Dressy versus sporty.

A sports watch is gonna be a diver, a chrono, a pilot.

Those types of things.

Dress watches is what you're always gonna thing is gonna be very slim, very conservative.

A watch that's fits under a suit.

You could tell, man.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell what looks more dressy than not.

So use that.

Think about that.

Don't be that guy.

I have been there.

I have worn a 44 millimeter Yacht-Master II two-tone to a wedding and pulled those moves

where I looked like a complete jackass.

Don't be that guy!

Choose the right watch for the occasion or choose the right watches in your collection

and you'll always have the right watch for the occasion.

So I wanna go over some of the 5 Biggest Mistakes People Make While Wearing a Dress Watch.

Number 1 is the size.

Select the right size.

You don't want an overly large watch.

This is one of those situations where bigger is not better.

Number 2 would be the type of bracelet, a strap that comes on that watch.

Some models look dressier than others, depending on the bracelet or strap that it might have.

For example, the 5980, how I was saying that, on a bracelet it looks sportier than on a

strap.

Number 3 is, bi-color.

I don't recommend ever wearing a two-tone watch in a suit.

Always better to stick to one tone of metal.

Number 4, what color metal are you wearing with that outfit?

For example, you don't wanna have a rose gold watch with a gray suit.

You're gonna preferably want platinum, steel or white gold.

Number 5 is the strap color.

If you're wearing black shoes with a black belt, you obviously do not want a brown strap.

So my favorite brands for sports watches is probably gonna be Audemars Piguet and Rolex,

and for dressy, more formal watches, I feel like Patek has that on lock.

Also I'm a fan of the Breguets and Vacheron.

I feel like those watches overall they give you the best look for that type of distinction

that you're trying to get with a dress watch.

So, like I mentioned earlier man, this is a topic that can go around in circles and

circles, and at the end of the day, I'm a watch guy, so most of my decisions are gonna

be more inclined, more towards watches than extreme fashion or like a fashionista would

say, whatever!

To not go around in circles, but can you wear a sports watch to a formal occasion?

I guess you could do whatever you want, you know?

I did it and how did I feel?

Like an idiot!

I would have given anything to have that day this watch instead of the two-tone Yacht-Master

II.

It'd be a downgrade in status, but it would have been the right watch to go with that

outfit.

So at the end of the day, you could do whatever you want.

Do I recommend wearing a 5980 on a strap in the water on a boat, NO!

But if you can afford this watch, you could do whatever you want.

So if you liked this video, please like and share.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland - Best Yet, or Beginning of Downward Spiral? | Skater Reviews - Duration: 17:54.

Today, we're taking a look at American Wasteland - the favorite of a lot of people here in

the comments.

Is it really that good?

Let's take a look.

Welcome to Rad Rat Video.

Here on the channel, we learn something new about skateboarding 3 times a week.

I talk about all kinds of skateboard topics, like trick histories, answering your questions

on AskRadRat, and game reviews of classic and obscure skateboarding games.

Today, it's American Wasteland.

We finally made it.

A lot of people have been asking me to do this, and I finally made it here.

Also, a ton of people have requested Project 8.

Keep in mind - I'm doing the whole series in order here.

So there's no need to request your favorite one - I'll get to it.

The only ones out of order are Downhill Jam and Tony Hawk HD, which I did before re-starting

the series.

OK, so let's get into American Wasteland.

This is the seventh game in the series.

And the 5th on the PS2 and the Xbox.

At this point, the series is starting to outgrow its engine.

They packed in a ton of new stuff here - some that doesn't last very long in the series.

And they did their absolute best to make the game feel open world.

To accomplish all of this stuff, they had to downgrade the resolution of the Xbox version

from 720 to 480p.

But of course, I can't really recommend the Xbox version anymore this late in the

series because the controls are just too complicated.

Let's talk about the new additions.

Here are the new tricks added into this game.

The first few hours of the game are tutorials…

There's so much stuff that it takes forever to get up to speed.

First is the parkour stuff.

You've got double jumps, wall runs and backflips.

You have to learn all this stuff from a french pastry chef - you know, because parkour is

french.

Next is the bank drops.

They really expanded on the acid drop and spine drop system in the game, and they put

in a lot of these banks, as store signs and sandwich boards and stuff.

You can spine transfer over it, and also revert, which looks different from the regular revert.

You've also got additional plants.

There are sticker slaps, but now there are wallplants on regular walls AND on vert, and

you can boneless out of a wallride.

Also on vert, you can do a 'to tail', which looks like this.

There are a couple more.

Like stalls on random stuff.

You can hold the right trigger when you do a grind, and you'll stall.

Aside from a couple of times in the story you have to do it, you will never do this

on purpose.

But you'll do it a lot on accident though.

You can use the trigger to spin, and then, if you don't let go on time, you'll stall

out on the rail.

I don't really understand this addition to the game.

It's not like you can just choose for a grind to not work and do a stall instead.

And if you could, I don't know why you'd want to.

Another thing you can do is bert slides.

Again, you'll do this in story mode, and maybe a couple of times on accident, but it

has very little actual use in the game.

The trick is a bert, or bertlemann slide, which is a real trick from back in the day.

I can see why they wanted to add this in, but it's just kind of there.

And on the Xbox, it uses up the trigger, which makes nollies really annoying, since they

get mapped to the white button.

One of the biggest changes though is the new animation system.

There are some pros and cons to it, but in general, I think it's a step up.

The 360 hardflip is FINALLY fixed.

Yeah, it's still super vertical, which nobody really does, but it's at least not wrong

anymore.

360 inward heels have become vertical, which is a little weird.

There are two really messed up changes though.

First is the nollie flips.

If you do a double or triple, your arm goes crazy and it looks like you have to REALLY

THROW it to get it to come around.

The other problem is with all the double and triple flip animations in every stance.

Sometimes they just don't flip.

Most of the time they look right, but every now and then, they don't flip enough, and

they just go really slow.

This is something that bothered me when the game came out, and it's still really annoying.

I just don't get why they did this.

The animation in this game isn't based on physics or anything.

It was all done by hand.

So somebody actually made a really slow kickflip animation for some reason.

They also added in "boned ollies".

It helps you get a little more height, kind of like a boneless, but you hold it like a

grab.

It's not worth as many points as an actual grab.

And you'll only do this in challenges a couple times.

They added in spin directions in this new system, and it has half cabs wrong.

Of course.

Every game has either nollie or fakie wrong because they're opposites.

I have a video about that you can check out on screen right now.

It doesn't really make sense, but that's how it is, and I've yet to see a game that

actually does it right.

They've also added in bikes.

There have been a lot of vehicles over the course of this series, including really weird

stuff like mechanical bulls.

But this time, the bike stuff is actually pretty well thought out.

And that's because it's based off of Matt Hoffman.

So the controls actually match that series instead of playing like Tony Hawk - you do

barspins and tailwhips with the right stick, and you hold the left trigger to do flips

and stuff.

It feels good, but I didn't really get into these challenges that much.

They're all really simple and not that interesting.

But it is cool that you get the option to ride around on a bike whenever you want.

But it's kind of annoying.

Sometimes you have to be on a bike to start a bike challenge.

So you look for the icon in your radar and you go jump on it.

But look at this one.

It's a bike challenge, but you actually have to be on a skateboard… then you get

on a bike when it starts.

And they just made the timer a little bit longer to make up for the animation of you

getting on the bike.

It just feels sloppy the way they set this up.

The last new thing I want to cover is the "open world" design.

If you couldn't hear the air quotes around "open world", there were 3 or 4.

What they did was make the different levels connect in different ways.

You have to ride through hallways and ditches and stuff to reach the next area.

As you skate through, the game not-so-subtly loads the next level.

From a gameplay perspective, this makes sense.

You can unlock an event in another area, but still stay where you are and skate for a while.

In THUG 1 and 2, it would just take you to the next level in a cutscene.

So it's definitely a good idea, but I think they were just way too proud of it.

There are a lot of times when you have to hurry and go back to Hollywood or East LA

or whatever.

You're running from the cops or trying to beat someone to the spot or whatever.

It works, and it's an impressive feat on the PS2 especially, but it's not FUN.

These corridors are pretty plain.

So I think that's pretty much it for the new features in this game.

There are a lot.

At this point, there are so many things you can do that you can end up doing something

unexpected.

Either you accidentally double tap something or hit A on accident and next thing you know,

you're flying in the wrong direction.

So it can be kind of annoying juggling all these new features, but you get used to it.

The game has 2 main modes, just like the last one - story mode and classic mode.

Let's take a quick look at classic mode.

This is the way I started the game.

In my THUG 2 review, I mentioned that this was more of an afterthought, but after finishing

the story mode, I realize that there's quite a bit of fresh content here.

It is quite a bit shorter though - at 6 levels instead of 9.

The ones that are returning are Downtown from Pro Skater 1 - which it renames Minneapolis.

There's another 'downtown' level in the story mode here, so it makes sense why

they had to do that.

You also get the Mall from Pro Skater 1, and Chicago too.

Chicago is kind of interesting.

Remember - this was a time when you couldn't even do manuals yet.

And here I am collecting stuff by getting off my board and climbing the wall.

That made the level feel much fresher.

Especially considering that this was originally a contest level.

But there's nothing that feels too recycled here.

Aside from those, you've got 3 new levels - assuming you've only been playing the

console versions, like me so far.

Starting with: Santa Cruz.

This level has a lot in common with Santa Monica in the story mode.

I think they probably re-used some of the assets from the pier area and some other stuff.

It still feels pretty unique though.

But it doesn't play that well as a classic level.

It's the same problem as the THUG 2 classic mode - these levels are just too big.

There is a ton of space to cover to try to find the SKATE letters and all of the other

goals.

There are so many nooks and crannies here that stuff can be hiding anywhere.

And here's the thing - this isn't a classic level.

This is actually taken from Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix on the PSP.

And it's not the only one.

Kyoto was in THUG 2 remix first as well.

This level is, again, a bit too big to be a classic level.

It took me forever to find all of the arcade machines I was supposed to smash.

Lastly is The Ruins.

This level seems to have a lot in common with the East LA level in the main story, but it's

actually taken from Tony Hawk's Project 8 on the PSP.

I mean, it is the ruins of LA, so I guess it makes sense that it would feel the same.

But this time, I think the American Wasteland level came first, and this was taken from

it.

Also - there's a collector's edition on the PS2, which has a couple extra levels - namely

Marseille from Pro Skater 2, and Atlanta, which was from THUG 2 Remix.

I'll have to play these at some point, but I'm sure there aren't any major surprises.

But in any case, you know how this mode works - get SKATE letters, high scores, and collect

stuff.

At this point in the series, this is really starting to wear on me.

But I'm not necessarily sick of it.

I think I could go back and play Pro Skater 2 or 3 and have a great time.

But there's just something about the way this feels that just doesn't work right

anymore.

I think it's just the fact that there's so much going on here that's ignored.

ESPECIALLY this version, because you never see the story mode challenges that take place

here.

Like that crater.

Why is it there?

It's just random meaningless decoration at this point.

This is unexplained in this game, but apparently in THUG 2 Remix, there is a giant fight between

Godzilla and Ultraman and that's what caused this.

I really have to check that game out.

I played it back in the day but I don't remember any of this stuff.

So that's why this mode fails.

Not because it's bad or broken, but just because it doesn't have that handmade feel

that the original games had.

It's worth checking out at least, but it's not the biggest draw of the game.

Let's take a look at the story mode.

I'm not going to go into extreme detail here, because there's a lot to cover.

But I'll talk about the main points at least.

When you start the game, you pick from one of 5 skaters that just moved to LA.

It's weird that you can't just make them from scratch like in every other game.

There's enough customization that it's not a huge deal, but I didn't really see

anyone I liked and I ended up being this army-looking guy.

You meet Mindy, who wants to start a skating magazine called "American Wasteland."

She helps you get into the skate ranch, which you have to do by gaining everyone's approval.

This is probably the biggest theme of the game - getting approval from people and proving

you're legit.

You do it here, with a skate gang later, with a graffiti gang, and with other pro skaters

at the end.

And of course, you gain approval by doing tricks.

At first, it's just training stuff.

You learn how to do wall flips and Natas spins and all that kind of stuff that I talked about

earlier.

Once you can do everything the guys can do, you're in.

The Skate Ranch is the main goal in the game.

You help finish a vert ramp they're working on, and next thing you know, you're going

all over the game world, finding stuff to break, steal and take back to the ranch.

Once it gets sent there, you can go back to the Ranch and break stuff in.

You'll see how that piece was installed at the park, and you have to get a high score

on it.

It's always really easy, but the point of these challenges are just to make sure you

see it all and get a chance to skate it.

This part is pretty cool.

But since there's only one Mindy, you have to do them all in order.

Break one in, and the next one appears.

Repeat a few dozen times until she stops popping back up in the radar.

Apparently, the guy who runs the Ranch, Iggy, is a wanted felon, and you accidentally out

him, which gets him arrested.

So you have to get him out.

While working on that, you have to join the Skate Club.

These guys are anti-corporate greed and materialism.

So to impress them, you have to take off your shirt and shoes and do… freestyle tricks

in a parking garage.

I bet you didn't see that coming.

This event is pretty cool.

The camera moves around and gives you some interesting angles.

Since all you really need to worry about is the balance meter, it doesn't really cause

any problems, and it looks cool.

Once you beat them all, you have to beat the best freestyler around.

Any guesses who it might be?

Who's the best freestyle skater that's ever been in a Tony Hawk game?

That's right - Daewon Song!

Wait, what?

Yeah, it's kind of weird, but they use Mullen later to show you how to invent tricks, which

makes a lot of sense too.

You later meet Tony Alva, and find out about a legendary skatepark buried under the skate

ranch.

You start the process of digging it up by doing a lot of favors for guys on an oil rig.

Yeah, this is the same oil rig that was exclusive to Tony Hawk 3 on the Xbox.

It's got some changes to it, and a lot of challenges.

One thing I like about the way the challenges work now is these popups.

So when you have to grind something or do a certain gap, it's always very clear exactly

what you're supposed to do.

You don't have to worry about accidentally skipping a cutscene and not knowing what's

going on.

After that, you have to get to East LA to help Boone, who got in trouble with his old

gang.

To help him, you have to actually join that gang.

To prove you're legit, you have to do skate missions, BMX missions, and, of course, tagging.

Again, tagging is really important in this game, and I just don't like it.

I know it was cool at the time that you could tag something and the game would remember,

but that isn't exactly impressive these days.

To prove yourself to the gang, you have to help this guy finish tags all over the game

world.

When you get enough, he teaches you the trademark style of that area.

You need to make a tag with every style included in it.

Up until this point, I had just been ignoring this guy.

Now, I didn't have a choice, and that kind of sucked.

This is one of the ways the game forces pacing.

You can't just do the story stuff and beat the game right away.

Another example is getting to the oil rig from earlier.

You need gas money for the boat.

Don't have enough money?

Better go do some more challenges.

Can't afford the tattoo to join the gang?

Better go to some more challenges.

Luckily, this really rich bum loves to give you money to do mini challenges like doing

tricks he calls out or finding gaps.

It was a good idea to pace the game out like this and make sure people see everything there

is to see.

It was just annoying when it was the tag and BMX stuff that I wasn't really into.

Anyway, you get Boone out, Iggy gets bail, and punches you in the face for digging up

that skatepark.

Apparently, he knew it was there, but he didn't own the land yet.

He was saving up to buy it, but now that everyone knows, the price is going to go through the

roof.

Luckily, there's a plan.

You get a bunch of skaters together and film a video to sell.

The proceeds will go to buy the land, and finish the skatepark.

How do you convince pro skaters to help you out?

I think you already know.

You have to prove yourself.

Most of the time, at least.

Ryan Sheckler wants you to help him steal a Jeep.

What a tool.

The one with Tony Hawk is kind of funny.

You insult him for blowing thousands of dollars shopping on Rodeo drive, and he has to show

you that he can still skate, so he shows off some tricks he invented, including the hurricane,

which he apparently invented too.

I didn't know that one.

Oh, and get this - Tony does 900s on the regular.

I didn't know that either.

Anyway, the video these guys help film is such a huge success that you buy the ranch

with pre-order money alone.

The game ends with a dramatic chase scene with the police that goes through ALL OF THE

LOADING ZONES.

Yeah, these aren't fun normally, and trying to get through everything on a timer in the

dark doesn't make it any better.

But it was dramatic at least.

Get that done, and you finally get the girl.

And you pay to get her magazine project off the ground.

So that's the story mode.

With all of the new innovations in the gameplay, there aren't a ton of new challenge types

to talk about, but there really don't need to be.

This game has a lot going on as-is, and is probably the longest of the games that I've

played so far.

As you can probably tell from the run time of this video.

So - is this game any good?

Yeah, I think it is.

I like the feel of the game, and I think the story is very interesting and cool by Tony

Hawk standards.

Things get a bit repetitive, but it throws new ideas at you fairly often too.

You'll have a good time if you pick this up.

But what version should you get?

I'd probably go PS2 for this one, but there's actually a surprise contender this time, the

Xbox 360.

Yeah, there's a 360 version of this game, making it the first "next gen" Tony Hawk

game from that period.

I don't have a 360, and I haven't gotten the chance to play it - so let me know in

the comments what this version of the game is like.

Apparently it uses all the same models and assets from the PS2 version, it just has higher

resolution textures, better lighting, and higher resolution output.

So that's probably the version to go with if your 360 still works.

Otherwise, you're not missing out on anything.

Let me know what your experiences are with this game - is it your favorite?

I've seen some comments saying this one is the best.

I can't really agree with that because I think it's just bloated with features at

this point, but it's definitely not bad.

Next up in my Tony Hawk game review series is Project 8.

This might take me a while because there are two different versions - the PS3 and the Xbox,

which are quite different.

I haven't had to deal with that since Pro Skater 4.

There's actually a PSP version too, but we'll get to that some other time.

Your CTA or mine? Courting your customers. - Duration: 4:01.

Hey there! So I think that it's time we

finally had..the talk. I wanted to talk to

you today about how you're dating your

customers. Now don't worry, I won't get

you in trouble with your spouse or

anything. But if you think about it,

your marketing content is a bit like a

courtship. There's that first encounter

where you're getting to know each other,

your customers are kind of interested

but they're not sure if you're the one

yet. And as they get to know you better

and read more of your content they get

to fall more in love with you, until

finally that one day when you sign the

dotted line and you commit to a

relationship. Hopefully it'll be a happy

one. Well, let's talk a little bit

about that first date, that first piece

of content they read. Say it's

a blog post. Now, after you go out on a

date, evening comes you say goodnight,

and then what? Do you propose? Most people

don't. Do you call them back again? Well,

hopefully. Maybe you never talk to them

ever again, if you, know, if it was a bad

date right? So ask yourself after that

first piece of content, that first date,

what then? Do you pop the question?

Probably a bit too early. Do you just

stop communication and not follow up?

Well, if you want things to go further

with your prospective buyers, you

probably ought to follow up somehow, or

get them to follow up. So what's

appropriate? Well, you want to take them

to the next step, right? If you think of

it as a relationship. And so, you do that

through something called calls to action.

And you will be surprised how many small

businesses don't have any kind of call

to action at the end of their blogs or

on their web pages or their white papers

or any of their content. They don't

have anything and they expect that their

audience will simply be so excited about

their product or their service and what

they just read, they'll just go and do

the next thing. Well, you need to

tell them what the next thing is.

They're not - they're waiting for

you to make the first move. And so you

need to create that content, that CTA, the

call to action, that tells them this is

the next step in our relationship. You

give them more content to read that will

get them deeper in the sales funnel. Now

there are a lot of companies that do

give a call to action, but they're

popping the question right away and

they're asking for marriage. They want

the sale immediately after after the

first blog post, or even the second or

third or fourth blog post. You

need to think about the buyer's journey -

and I've talked about that before in

other videos - and think about where your

customer is going to be falling in that

buyer's journey when they're reading this

content. Is it toward the end of

the buyer's journey? If so, then yeah, it

makes sense to pop that question to ask

for the sale or to ask for a demo. But if

they're going to be reading it earlier

on in in their relationship with you,

don't pop the question.

But do lead them to the next step.

And so you want to think about what that

is. So thanks for watching, and go and do

great things!
