🔥10 Body Language Blunders That Make People NOT Trust or Like You!🔥 | Colleen Hammond - Duration: 18:19.

"10 BODY LANGUAGE BLUNDERS THAT MAKE PEOPLE NOT TRUST OR LIKE YOU" Colleen Hammond

What are the subtle little things that

you do with your body that tell people

"don't trust that person"!? That's this

morning's topic on "Coffee with Colleen"!

Join us LIVE Monday-Friday at 9am Eastern at Facebook.com/ColleenMHammond! (Link in notes!)

Good morning and welcome to Coffee with

Colleen on Colleen Hammond I'm a former

on-camera meteorologist for the by the

channel during the executive image

consultant coach and mentor we're

talking about body language today I have

a very long course that I teach in body

language I think the important thing to

remember about what we're going to talk

about today and I say this all the time

so if you watch me a lot you know body

language is a sentence you just can't

pluck one word out of the sentence and

know what somebody means it's the same

thing with your body language so what

we're going to talk about today are 10

things that are pretty glaring things

that when you're in a conversation with

someone for the first time or if they

see you across the room for the first

time these are some glaring observations

that people make a gut they don't look

and say oh you know they don't identify

what you're doing that they don't like

but these are just little subtle

subconscious things that you may be

doing with your body and not even

realizing it and it tells people you're

not trustworthy you're not likable

you're you don't like them you're

arrogant all these tiny little things

yeah you good morning hey good morning

Joanne so one of the very first things

and if you people think I'm Italian

because I talk a lot with my hands it's

really hard because I run into the

microphone and then it pops up and it

pops down and that type of thing so but

one of the things to watch out for is

wild exaggerations so one of the things

that that tells people is you're

stretching the truth so if you think of

it that way you want to maintain and

it's also very threatening an aggressive

type of impression and when people are

with you that your hands are flying all

over the place

so it implies that you're stretching the

truth unless you're making a point

so if normally you keep your body

language very very minimalized and

contained and close to the body that's a

good thing and then if you're making a

point that's that's fine watch the

position of your hands though if your

hand

are if people can see the palms of your

hands they trust you and that

interesting so think about it if you're

like hey if you you know so you have to

watch the threatening this of it being

too high and but low and open and palms

of the hands tells people that you're

trustworthy so be careful with the huge

large gestures all the time so they may

do that or do you know of anybody that

does that one thing you can do that's

very effective that shows the palm of

your hand but still makes a point is a

karate chop you're making a point good

morning Kim so and the other thing don't

point now if you look at politicians

when politicians make a point they don't

they don't do this they have their hand

like so they're the fingers slightly up

but their thumb is on top of it and it's

so go ahead did that I swear his hand

was like glued like this because it's

all the time but this is one way that a

politician can make a point without

pointing Ginetta me so don't be

threatening and point with your finger

number two is how you position yourself

when you're with somebody so if if

somebody is talking and you turn even if

you want to cross your legs and there's

not enough room to cross your legs under

the table so that ever happens so you

turn to cross your legs over here you're

subconsciously cutting that person off

and telling them you want to flee what

to be away from them so you're showing

so if you're standing next to somebody

and sometimes if they get too close and

they get in your personal space you kind

of you'll subconsciously turn sideways

to block them off right if you can't

step any further back but it tells

people your unengaged you're not

interested you're uncomfortable with

them possibly you don't trust them

because it's a protective gesture where

you're protecting your your vital organs

right this is a protective that gesture

you see this a lot especially women tend

to do this more often than men is

covering their throat so if somebody

feels very threatened by you then you'll

really know it if they cover their

throat so try to be open with people and

even Leeming in being engaged we

and in their conversation than the

things that they're having to say it

this tells people that you have that

they have rather your complete focus

your attention your respect your you

know admiration you know whatever that

you're you're really engaged in the

things that they're saying so watch your

body language that you're not closing

people off the other way you can do that

is with a closed body is with the art

with the arms like this so there's more

than one way to close yourself off from

somebody so there-there could be the

closed arms the turning away that type

of thing

even if that's what you're comfortable

doing so keep an eye on that for

yourself

number three is bad posture wow this

one's powerful they really should should

have people walking around with books on

their head more again right bad posture

it's lauching says so many things good

morning Lori sorry you had a late start

this morning first of all it's a sign of

sloth it shows people that you don't

have an attention to detail you just

don't care and it's disrespectful you're

subconsciously sending the person a

message like I could care less about you

I don't even have the energy to be like

an upright mammal at this point so it's

just so disrespectful showing people

that you're bored you don't have any

desire to be where you are

so also subconsciously we kind of equate

size with power and threat but mostly

with power if you look in the animal

kingdom or you know we have new kittens

around here so it's hilarious because

they're only a couple of weeks old and

what are they doing when they kind of

history Laurie they kind of hit that

they go barely ran here they're missing

and their their claws are all still out

and then they puff up right so animals

in the wild when they want to look

appear larger and more threatening all

their hair stands out or like a puffer

fish it just kind of pops up right it

looks bigger and more threatening but

it's subconsciously it's the same thing

with us where if if a person is

taller people tend to do better because

they automatically take up more space so

it's the same thing with your posture

when you're standing up straight you're

taking up more space and it

subconsciously sends the confidence the

impression of confidence of power of

respect so in the early so you can see

my slouching is just the opposite thing

the next one up number four is shifty

eyes

you ever been people like you know what

are you looking at either they're not

looking at you or they're just kind of

looking around a lot this they think

that this is why one of the reasons the

Nixon and JFK debate presidential debate

was the first debate I believe that was

televised I'm sure you can correct me if

I'm wrong and one of the reasons that

they said that people who listened on

the radio felt that Nixon won that he

made better points he was more

presidential people who watched on

television thought that John F Kennedy

one part of the reason is because John F

Kennedy is an attractive man and quite

frankly Nixon is not and then the other

thing is whenever they did like

close-ups headshots on them Nixon's eyes

were shooting all over the place he had

these shifty eyes I said he can't be

trusted so it goes way back I mean it's

just one of those things good morning

Amy

so it looks like you have something to

hide when your eyes are not focused and

you're not engaged it shows a lack of

confidence a lack of being interested in

what the person is talking about a lack

of confidence but when you engage in eye

contact but without staring somebody

down you come across as confident you're

a leader you are intelligent you have

nothing to hide so and the eyes are the

windows to the soul right so make sure

you maintain that eye contact number

five is going to be an intense eye

contact I think we're on number five

that can be a peer to peer very

aggressive as a power struggle like

somebody's trying to dominate you and

stare you down right so too much eye

contact it can be intense and aggressive

and it breaks off

relationship it subconsciously sends a

message so and then if glancing down is

submission and you know so when you

break out I contact and if you're

looking down that says submission but if

you break on sky contact and look away

that projects more confidence so how

this is very subconscious you may not

even realize it and maybe pointing it

out will you know go hey yeah you know

good point I never even thought about it

that way but you know when somebody does

that I do feel that way number six I

think we're on watching the clock check

and watch check-in the phone all of

these are signs of disrespect impatience

in an insulated ego I don't have time

for you I'm checking to see what's my

next most important thing because right

now I need to get out away from you

right so you're anxious to leave so

anytime you're checking the clock

checking your phone checking your watch

it shows that that you want to break

away from this person that you have far

more interesting things to do number

seven aggressive nodding when you're in

a conversation with somebody and you

share a point of agreement that's a

bonding moment that's a relationship

builder so you may be excited or overly

excited that oh my gosh we agree right

and you're like oh yeah yeah yeah so

what happens is it um it sends a

dishonest impression that they don't

really agree with me they're trying to

agree with me they're trying to convince

themselves or they trying to convince me

so again a lot of this is very

subconscious but you know like are you

not insolent why are you agreeing so

much we're in a position where you just

kind of like a quick nod fantastic you

know that is a more of a bonding moment

than like having a seizure with your

head number eight is fidgeting I am

still guilty of this I am constantly

moving and fixing my clothes and my hair

and scratching my head

something someone knows I'm a huge

fidgeter and I do have to have to calm

them down when I'm in person it's not I

don't think it's quite as obvious I know

maybe it is but I am so type-a I've got

I'm just like all this energy and I'm

going I'm going I'm going

but tapping your foot tapping your

fingers playing with a pen picking at

your nails adjusting your hair

constantly this shows people you're

overly anxious you're self-conscious

you're distracted it says it's a sign of

low self-esteem especially if you're

constantly fixing you know things like

your nails or your hair or something

about your visual appearance a seizure

with your head that's right

that sends some really negative

connotation so it still be still nail

pickle take our picker says that

furrowed eyebrows who now some

temperaments do this naturally can you

guess which temperament does is

naturally scowl they generally have an

unhappy or blank expression in their

face you know they've done MRIs while

people you know so they're scanning the

brain while people observing pictures or

interacting with other people to

everything and the MRIs show that when a

person sees another person's smiling it

responds favorably to that person and it

sticks

it's a lasting impression you know first

impressions are lasting impressions but

scowling causes people to feel like

you're judging them so when you see

somebody that's scowling you immediately

think they're judging you yeah those

fidgets spinners earned I've just seen

those Johanne scowling shows that you're

upset by the people around you and it

may have nothing to do with your mood

but it just sends like a cloud of like

that what was a Charlie Brown character

that always had the dark cloud over his

head was that Linus it kind of sends

that impression that's like whew avoid

that person but smiling instantly bond

you with another person open your

trustworthy I've told the story before

about when I got out of the car to run

in to check my p.o box

it was out of my car for like 27 seconds

and I saw a woman sitting there in the

parking lot and I thought she doesn't

belong here there's something not right

and she smiled at me and it disarmed me

I ran in grabbed my mail came back out

she had stolen my purse out of my car

because I like a fool did not lock my

car because I am in the country and I

knew I was going to be out of the car

for 27 seconds so smiling says that

you're open you're trustworthy you're

honest and it binds people to your

inches instantly because they think

you're friendly even though you're going

to rip them off all right number

whatever run we can shakes about we have

frequently checking the phones nail

picker seizure with your head fidget

centers yeah ping pad that's the one

thank you during the B's we can shake I

have a whole thing that I do I should

put a link to the article I wrote on

handshakes but real briefly a weak match

their grip you don't want to be a bone

crusher and you don't want to be just

like a dead fish right so you want to

match their grip whatever their grip is

and I can go on and on about handshakes

but an overly aggressive handshake it is

just a bad thing good morning Tina and

just make sure you have a firm handshake

and that you match their grip I'm

getting too close I don't like when

people invade my space and in Europe

their space bubbles are smaller than

ours so people naturally stand closer to

each other in Europe than they do here

in the States

I have a mint Australia so I can't say

for sure but is Vicky here I don't see

Vicky so she could tell us but it makes

me feel uncomfortable when you're in

their personal space when you you've

breached their bubble so it's about 18

inches 18 to 24 inches in the United

States is just as close as you can get

right so just when when you're in

somebody else's space it's a sign of

aggression it's a show of lack of

respect makes people uncomfortable

around you so be careful with those

things so all of these blunders will

very subtle

especially if they're combined with each

other if you have a weak handshake

overly aggressive nods in our in

somebody space it's like a wool baby and

then you add halitosis to that and it

just kind of seals the deal that you

know nobody likes you so watch those

wild gestures make sure you keep

yourself open and and engaged fully

engage squared off with somebody don't

turn away don't close your body off

those types of things watch your posture

make sure that you're standing up nice

and tall and straight and better for

your health and your organs as well

watch your eye contact make sure you

don't have that shifty eye thing and

don't be like the person that stares

somebody else down don't be like the

creepy you know person that kind of

stares into someone's eyes watch

watching the clock is a bad thing so

maintain eye contact without being

creepy if you're going to break eye

contact you look sideways or up unless

you want to appear submissive and then

you look down it's very demure so be

careful about watching the clock

checking your phone those types of

things just shows people that you're

unengaged and disrespectful the

aggressive nodding thing you know it

looks like you're having a seizure too

many fidgeting too much fidgeting too

much moving around that type of thing

shows people that you're super anxious

you're self-conscious that you're hiding

something and you just don't you're

trying to hide it you don't want people

to see it

furrowed eyebrows so make sure you're

open your faces open your eyebrows are

up if you are an eyebrow furrow or

practice setting sometimes when people

make a good point you go oh yeah and you

naturally like make that furrowed

eyebrows thing so if that's something

that you do make a sub kind of make a

conscious effort of if somebody makes a

good point instead of furling widening

your eyes good point

instead of Foods good point ah good

points more of a smiling type gesture

with your face and more friendly

trustworthy more competent watch the

handshakes and be careful about people's

personal space don't get in their bubble

so hopefully these were helpful to you

How to Carbonate a Flat Beverage - Soda, Water or Any Beverage You Need Fizzy - Duration: 1:58.

How to carbonate a flat beverage

If you're interested in carbonating your own beverages at home

or bringing sodas that have lost their fizziness back from the dead,

this do-it-yourself carbonation method

is easier, more versatile, and less expensive to use

than over-the-counter carbonation machines.

All you'll need is a few simple components

and a plastic bottle with a standard cap threading

like you'd find on any two liter bottle of soda.

Open the valve on the CO2 tank,

but leave the valve on the CO2 regulator closed.

Depending on the type of liquid you are carbonating,

and your desired level of fizziness,

you will need to adjust the pressure adjustment knob on your regulator

until the top gauge displays between 35 and 50 psi.

Fill your bottle with a cold beverage.

CO2 dissolves more easily in cold liquid,

so the colder, the better.

Be sure to leave about two and a half inches empty

to allow room for the CO2.

Squeeze out any extra air in the bottle

until the liquid reaches the top,

then screw the carbonation cap onto the bottle.

Snap the coupler onto your carbonation cap.

Open the valve on the regulator

to allow CO2 to flow into your bottle.

It will happen instantly.

Shake the bottle for 20 to 30 seconds

to ensure that the CO2 has dissolved throughout the liquid.

If you do not properly shake the bottle,

the CO2 will remain at the top of the bottle

and your beverage will not be fizzy.

Shaking upside down can backflow liquid

into your gas line and possibly into your regulator.

Close the gas valve,

then remove the keg coupler and the carbonation cap

and enjoy your newly carbonated beverage.

You can use the carbonation cap to keep your beverages carbonated

or to re-carbonate a flat beverage.

Are you just Knowledgeable or Intelligent too? - Duration: 3:45.

how many notifications did you get in

your Facebook page today when you opened

it all in the morning

curious weren't you to know what's new

gathering knowledge has never been so

easy as it is now in a blink of an eye

we can get hell lot of information in fact

we are surrounded by information and

data constantly we are being bombarded by

informations and data everywhere we go

we are just not aware of it scrolling down

a Facebook page can give you a hell lot

of information and knowledge just in a

blink of an eye which might have taken

maybe several days few decades back

with the growing technology we are just

not limited in exchange of knowledge or

information with just books and

newspapers you know it's just in a click

and you can just be there you can

really get to know what you really want

you know getting knowledge and gathering

information has been so easy now

that is not only less time-consuming but

it's also ridiculously cheap so in the

vastness of knowledge we are buried so

deep in it that we have actually

forgotten to use those in our real life

which is where the intelligence counts so

knowledge is something where we gather

information from our own experiences or

surroundings or books or other sources

where as intelligence is the actual

application of those gathered knowledge

in our life you know even the education

that we gain the knowledge that we gain

in our institution is just used to

decorate our mark sheet rather than

applying those in useful purpose or to

outgrow as an inner being and we all

know that human beings are undoubtedly

the most intelligent species on the

planet

and it's actually our ignorance that has

let our intelligence fall apart and and

it and one of the reasons that we are

you know failing to apply our

intelligence is because

the society where we are forced to choose

certain paths or predefined way or norms

and rules that definitely limits our

capacity to you know use our

intelligence in a more broader way there

are actually very less people on earth

you know who has the courage to really

follow their heart and use both of their

knowledge and intelligence in an

appropriate manner which is termed as

wisdom this is actually very rare in

human beings so this is basically the

blending of knowledge and intelligence

together in a wise manner which can make

our future bright and successful I was

just browsing through net today and I

found it in "Quora" one of the answers

which was being related to knowledge

intelligence and wisdom which was like

really funny for me because it was

answered by taking the example of a tomato

so it was written their knowledge

is knowing the tomato is a fruit

intelligence is using tomato as a

vegetable and wisdom is not mixing

tomato in a fruit salad this is how it

goes so don't just pile up your brain

with information knowledge and data that

are so easily available around you be

intelligent and wise as well and be sure

to watch our previous work that we

worked together and that is "do we really

die" it is right somewhere here

and make sure you subscribe to this

channel so that we can you know make

more videos together and make you happy

I guess

you will make then happy okay he was

kidding

Reality Check: The Media Should Put Up or Shut Up On Russia - Duration: 2:03.

Hey guys, I'm Brittany Hughes, you're watching MRCTV and this is your Reality Check.

So, I think it's pretty clear at this point that the liberal media sold whatever's left of their souls

to take down Donald Trump at any cost, and you don't need to look any further than the Manchester terror attack this week to find the proof.

For example, on Monday night both CNN and MSNBC spent more time criticizing the president and debating conspiracy theories

about his Russia connections than they did actually covering the terror attack, even while it was happening.

In fact, every network except CBS actually delayed breaking coverage of the attack because they were too busy whining about the president.

Apparently, the networks think that it's more important to beat up on Trump than to report breaking news about

a radical Muslim who killed 22 people and left shrapnel lodged in the faces of children.

But who cares if idiot bobbleheads like Rachel Maddow or Chris Matthews keep spewing the same old tired,

unproven mess that they've been driveling on about since November, right?

Well, I'll tell you who. A recent YouGov poll showed that 37 percent of Americans, including 59 percent of Democrats,

still think that Russia actually changed vote tallies in favor of Trump. This claim has been debunked repeatedly by

U.S. Intelligence community members, by politicians on both sides of the aisle, including Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters.

Even Barack Obama publicly stated there was no evidence that Russia tampered with votes.

But this outright lie persists because the media keeps harping on this Trump-Russia narrative,

desperately trying to find evidence of a collusion that they already decided is fact.

Now it is long past time for the media to put up or shut up. Unless there's evidence of a collusion, there's no story.

That's how journalism works. And constantly screaming smoke when there's no fire even makes them look like shallower, worthless liberal shills than they already were.

And that's your reality check, America. Make sure you subscribe to our YouTube page for more videos just like this one,

like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and stay sane out there.

- MJ is the king of Pop.

The way he built his songs.

Everything he expressed. He's the king. Kanye is no competition.

It depends. For the Yeezys, Absolutly Kanye.

What Is An Indigo Child And How To Recognize If You Or Your Kid Is One - Duration: 5:18.

What Is An Indigo Child And How To Recognize If You Or Your Kid Is One

You may have heard the term Indigo Child being used with growing frequency in recent years,

particularly since the 1970s back when the basic idea was developed by teacher and

author Nancy Ann Tappe.

Or perhaps, this is the first time you are hearing of it?

So What Is An Indigo Child?

And How Can You Recognize One?

Indigo Children quite simply refers to gifted children who are believed to naturally possess

any kind of special abilities or traits.

These can range from the magical to even the supernatural.

It is believed that these children serve as a reminder for the rest of humanity, who through

time has lost touch with who we truly are one shared body of consciousness.

While the rest of us pay far more attention to our thoughts as opposed to our feelings,

these children know instinctively how to connect to our collective consciousness.

Some have even gone as far as to say that the generations of Indigo Children are The

Next Step in Human Evolution.

So why the color Indigo?

This has to do with auras; In 1982, Nancy Ann Tappe published a book titled Understanding

Your Life Through Color, a book focusing on the metaphysical concept of different colored

auras that people can have, and what meaning each color holds.

She states that during the 1960s, she noticed that many children were being born with indigo

color auras.

Is it possible to spot an Indigo Child?

Could you possibly be one yourself?

Here Is A List Of Ten Characteristics That Indigo Children Are Said To Have, Which Can

Help You Identify One.

1.

They have a clear sense of purpose and self-confidence, which most people lack.

2.

They can be strong-willed from an early age, and have their own unique way of doing even

the simplest things.

The rules and regulations the rest of us follow as children may seem trivial to them.

3.

They can ignore what is expected of them, preferring do their own thing.

This can cause friction with parents and teachers.

4.

Authority that allows no choice or input is rejected by them; therefore, it can be a challenge

to parent or discipline an Indigo Child.

Standard methods do not prove effective.

5.

They can be incredibly empathic towards others and possess wisdom that even people twice

or thrice their age cannot compare to.

6.

Because of their different nature, they can be seen by family and friends as strangely

anti-social.

The exception is when they are with other Indigos like themselves this is the only

time they may feel understood and at home.

7.

They have an amazing intuitive ability they always seem to hear or know things that non-Indigos

cannot explain.

8.

They are insightful and have uniquely good ideas.

They can provide simple solutions to complex problems, making them seem like system

busters.

9.

Their high intelligence quota, combined with their creative right-brain thinking, can give

them a hard time in a tradition left-brain school system

10.

Their brains can process information much faster than the average person.

This increased energy, if not correctly balanced, makes them prone to not only anxiety and depression

but also the high likelihood of being ADD and ADHD diagnosed.

What do you think?

Do any of these resonate with you, your kids

or someone you know?

Girl In The City Chapter 2 | Karthik or Kiran | Episode 10 - Duration: 16:37.

You don't have to work or meet any deadlines and the credit is yours.

When have I said to make somebody else do my work?

Who? Sameera? - No.

That, that boy.

Meera, I got to go and that's that!

I told you to give me the bedroom with the loo.

I have to go, now.

Stand near the window, breathe in, breathe out. No other choice.

Young turk...

...good looking, handsome.

My Dal.

What are we doing here?

Yeah, exactly. What are we doing here?

That's because we need to talk. - Then, talk.

Talk.

Kiran, look, I can explain. This is not what you're thinking.

And what am I thinking, exactly?

Listen, Meera, that room is full of boy's stuff, okay? So, please.

See, listen. It's not like you owe me an explanation about your...

...personal life or whatever... - But, I want to know.

No, no, no. I do owe you one.

It's just that, there are personal problems going on at Kartik's...

...home and that's why he has been staying here, since a few days.

He'll leave in a few days.

So, are you guys dating?

No. - Sort of.

And he speaks.

What do you mean, sort of?

I mean... - It's complicated, Kiran.

The thing is that, when he came here the last time...

...we thought... - Listen, Meera...

...we don't want any of your explanations, okay?

Kiran, let's go.

At least, listen to her.

Just let's act like grown ups, alright?

First of all...

...what are you doing here?

I came to hang.

With Meera?

You people are always going on and on about...

...Meera, Meera, Meera and like...

...I don't know, House of Areem will close down or something...

...without this **** Meera. So, I came to see...

...what's so goddarn special.

That's really sweet, Areem.. - I've changed my mind.

About a lot of things.

Anyway, what were you doing here, Kiran?

I, we...

I, we...

No. See, listen...

...there's really no need to explain myself to you, Areem.

Right? - Oh really, Kiran?

Why not?

Isn't, part of a clause in your contract...

...stating, 'No roommates'?

Fix this, Meera.

We're done here. Let's go, Areem.

Kiran, I'm really sorry about... - About?

I...

...I didn't read the contract properly, so...

You're missing out on a lot of fine print, Meera.

My bag?

Back there.

Well played, guys.

Kartik, the answer is either, yes or no.

What does 'sort of', mean?

'Sort of' means, sort of.

And what happens, when you swipe right?

Meera, the right swipe happens, when the answer of...

...in a relationship changes to 'sort of' from yes.

Oh, wow! How convenient.

You're so selfish, Kartik.

And I didn't know that you are head over heels for your boss, Meera.

I thought, he's the biggest enemy of your life.

Who said anything about being head over heels?

Meera, it doesn't need to be said. I can see it on your face.

Rubbish.

And what about you and Areem?

What about me and Areem?

When did you meet her?

When did you meet her?

Meera, I was bringing food for you, to your office.

Are you mad?

Here I am trying to hide you and you were coming to my office!

Meera, ya, they don't know if I was coming from my house or yours!

I cooked your favourite vegetable, and so I came to your office.

Do you cook even in the morning?

Are you crazy or what, Kartik? It's such a dead giveaway, ya!

Meera, you're just being paranoid!

Do you think, they've got spies watching you 24/7, ya?

So, they know where you are going and what you do?

Meera, you're not that important for that office...

...you're just Areem's shadow and that's it.

Okay, I'm sorry. - Get out.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. - Get out.

Meera, I didn't mean it. - Get out!

Get out!

Where were you yesterday, Kartik? - Why?

I tried calling you.

Tea.

Are you even listening to me?

Ya, Meera, why are you cribbing so early in the morning?

Kartik, you have to leave, ya.

I know. I remember the 'get out, ' last night. I'll leave.

Listen, it's just, it's not just about me, right?

They even know at the office.

Meera, please don't over explain.

I know, I will leave.

And it's kind of you to keep me till now, so thank you.

Excuse me, where's Areem?

She's not coming today.

Where does she work, in here?

No, I don't know.

Excuse me.

Is Areem in today? - I'll just check.

Hi, Yash. Brad is here and he's asking for Areem, constantly.

What should I tell him?

Okay, thanks.

She's not in, yet.

But, could I get you some coffee? A bagel?

That's fine, thank you.

Interesting.

Who sits here? - I do.

Oh, hello. And you are?

I'm Meera. We met at the dinner?

Ah, yes. Of course. Excuse me.

I'm struggling to keep up. - No problem.

Are you a designer, here?

No, no, no, no, no!

That's funny! Brad, you're funny! Wow.

Meera, no. The only designer we have is Areem, you know?

At the, house of Areem, we-we like to encourage new talent.

You know, we want them to be as creative as they want to be.

So, that's the thing. Yeah. Why don't you wait for Areem?

In the conference room? I'll send coffee or something.

That's straight and then left, right? - Yes, sir.

Okay.

I'll just join you there.

Meera, he cannot know that you're designing!

Why? - What, why?

It's their company policy!

They don't collaborate with businesses...

...they collaborate with talent!

They only like single designer platforms!

Oh, wow! And where is your single designer?

Meera, when we spoke to their company...

...and when the deal was discussed, then...

...Areem was the only designer we had, right?

Please, help a sister out!

I know you'll do it. You're a sweetheart!

I'll see you. Bye!

Brad.

Hi, Kiran.

About last night...

- If you're busy, I'll come later. - No. That's fine. You were saying?

Listen, Kiran, I'm super confused.

I don't get it.

Are you my friend or a mean boss?

Mean boss.

Last night, you came to my house, with wine.

You were so nice to me, post work.

But, today, me and my work are being hidden from Brad as if...

I know, I know, I can't be a name designer, but...

...hiding that I am the designer for House of Areem is wrong!

You know what's also wrong, Meera?

Is to not have clarity of where you are in a relationship.

Work also has relationships. Professional ones!

It's also wrong to not have clarity on them.

What is this about?

Last night, this morning? What are we talking about?

Both.

Meera, Brad's company is a high end niche brand.

They encourage talent, not business.

I know that, Kiran and I also know that...

...they only collaborate with design houses...

...with single designers.

News flash, Kiran! I'm the designer, right now.

That is true, but, right there, in front.

Do you see, whose name is on the door?

You remember the conversation that we had?

Get back to work.

One last thing, Meera.

Last night, I...

...didn't come to you in a professional capacity.

Just find her! Wherever she is, just find her.

No, I'm not coming to office.

I get it! Will you relax?

We are going to have a live...

...Facebook pre-launch event.

I don't know, it's a gentle change in the design.

There's something I can't quite put my...

...finger on, but something has changed.

Did you check properly?

No, no, I'm coming, I'm coming. Sorry got to go.

What happened?

Meera, what is going on here?

Mom and dad worry so much every time I ride alone on Mia.

They worry about sunstroke in the day and safety at night.

I try so hard to explain to them...

...that, it's actually very safe to ride in the city.

You just have to remember a few dos and dont's...

...and then you'll be ready to rock your ride.

Like, for example, when you want to protect...

...yourself from the cruel summer sun...

...make sure that you cover up.

You should wear gloves on your hands...

...to protect them from sunburn.

If your gloves are elbow length, then...

...they will protect your arms, as well.

Wear a funky scarf under your helmet.

Around your head, like this.

So that, your hair won't get tangled...

...and they will also be protected from the nasty pollution.

And, well, let's face it, it also looks pretty cool.

Cool reminds me. Don't forget your reflectors.

Funky, colourful reflectors.

They will protect your eyes from dust...

...and well, you'll get that real, proper feeling of being a rider!

If you want to protect yourself from the heat...

...then, make sure that you wear light colours...

...like yellow and white.

Never wear black.

If you work late nights like me and have to ride back home at night...

...through the dimly lit lanes...

...it will enable you to be visible.

It will also help your moms to breathe a sigh of relief.

And of course...

...most importantly, remember to wear the right pair of shoes.

Make sure that you're comfortable in them...

...so that, they give you the right kind of grip.

And that's it, you're ready to ride on!

Make sure, guys, always remember...

...safety comes first, no matter what.

Daily Life Thoughts: Law School and Competition, or Why Law School is often not Pedagogically Sound - Duration: 6:16.

I hated law school.

And I still think law school, especially the first year of law school, is horribly designed

from an academic perspective, from the perspective of how to form a student.

I think people in positions of authority in law schools need to realize what that first

year of law school, as well as the environment in law school, does to students.

People in positions of authority in law school need to realize that the academic environment

they create, from the excessive competitiveness that is useless because of its excess in any

workplace, because the disregard such excessive competitiveness creates for other people makes

students less able to connect with coworkers and clients.

There is also a personal individual detrimental effect of such excessive competitiveness on

students who while mentally healthy before law school start to experience depression

and anxiety in law school.

This environment causes harm to people as students, as scholars and as practicioners,

and as human beings.

So I make no secret of what I think about law school.

Law school would be much more effective academically and would be a more pedagogically sound exercise

if it eliminated the unecessary stress.

A failure of the law school academic environment that I want to focus on in this video is the

failure to teach students to ask themselves 'did I do my best?' as opposed to teaching

them 'did I do enough?'

One of the things I started to do in my first semester of law school was to ask myself if

I was doing enough.

Was I studying enough?

Was I taking enough notes?

Were my notes good enough?

And so on and so on.

I didn't used to ask myself that before law school.

Which is not to say I didn't take studying seriously before law school; I got A's in

every class before law school and I studied hard for those As.

But before law school, I didn't ask myself if I was studying enough.

My parents taught me to ask myself if I was doing my best.

That is a crucial distinction.

Studying enough is inherently a comparison.

You can't decide if you are doing enough of anything without comparing yourself to someone

else.

Enough is an external word.

So when I asked myself if I was studying enough, I was inevitably comparing myself to other

students, to my classmates and to law school graduates and what they said they studied.

Doing my best, that's very different.

That is purely internal.

If I ask myself if I did my best, whatever my classmates did is irrelevant.

Whatever a successful law school graduate did is irrelevant.

Nothing matters to the question of 'did I do my best' besides me and my capacity.

Did I really do everything I could?

Did I really exhaust every possibility?

Did I really do the absolute best that I was capable of?

This is not a low standard, I want to make that clear.

This is the highest standard anyone can set for themselves.

It is an incredibly demanding standard, because we tragically underestimate what we are capable

of.

To answer 'did I do my best?'

honestly means knowing what your best is, which isn't easy.

It means making an honest assessment of how much you can do, and so many times, we underestimate

ourselves.

So doing the best you can means not pretending that your best is less than what it is to

excuse less than stellar results.

But the greatest advantage of asking yourself 'did I do my best?' is that is frees you.

It frees you from limiting yourself.

'Did I do enough?' is a limiting question, because if you did more than those around

you then you did enough, regardless of whether you actually did your best.

'Did I do enough?' also limits how we approach work.

Different people work best in different ways, and once you acknowledge that then you can

achieve a lot more than by trying to use a study method that plain and simple does not

work for you, no matter how useful it might be to others.

'Did I do enough?' by its comparative nature tends to make us ignore what works for us.

It focuses us on what others are doing and on imitating others, but doing whatever others

are doing better than others do it.

'Did I do my best?' is an internal question, like I said.

What others are doing is irrelevant.

Thinking from the perspective of 'did I do my best?'

means thinking how I can do my best work.

Regardless of what study methods the others are using, what study method is most effective

for me?

How can I produce work that is of the highest caliber I can possibly achieve?

I would have been much happier during law school if I asked myself 'did I do my best?'

more often.

I remember during law school orientation, before classes started, we were each given

a mentor.

The sense of competition was already heavy on my mind even during orientation, because

of how often when talking about studying speakers for orientation mentioned what we needed to

do because if we didn't do it surely our classmates were doing it and implicit in this comment

was the idea that they were therefore going to get the better grade.

As an aside, you need to remember if you aren't in law school; grades are on a curve so there

are only so many people who can get a certain grade.

Professors have a set percentage of each grade they can give and they can't go beyond that.

This, together with the large class sizes that prevent students from getting the attention

from the professor they might need as well as the constant use of the Socratic method

where you are cold-called and asked questions in front of a class, is responsible for a

lot of the sense of excessive competition.

Getting back to my story about law school orientation.

They divided us into groups and gave our groups mentors.

And because I was so worried about the sense of competition, I asked my mentor if the right

approach to studying wasn't just to do the best work that I could and as my parents say,

leave everything else in God's hands.

Our mentor told me that the problem with that approach was that you might not feel compelled

to make the extra effort.

But here's the thing I realized now that I am in my third and final year of law school,

the same year my mentor was in when I asked her this question.

It didn't matter what my mentor said.

My pre-existing approach was right and I would have saved myself a lot of needless worry

if I had just stuck to that approach.

My mentor wrongly assumed that asking 'did I do my best?' was a limiting question.

My mentor assumed I would be content with a certain lesser quality of work.

She assumed competition and competition alone propels you to work more.

And maybe some people do work best when competing with others.

When you ask yourself, 'did I do my best?' you should be analyzing what kind of studying

bests suits you and if you do actually thrive by competing.

But not everyone can study in constant competition.

Some people, like myself, find their work suffering when they worry about what others

are doing.

Around the second semester of my first year of law school, after the worst parts of a

lot of negativity, I finally started to ask myself 'did I do my best?' more and more.

And it was wonderful.

Because I no longer cared what anyone else was doing.

I wasn't a good student by comparison to my classmates nor was I a bad student in comparison

to my classmates.

I was a student.

I was doing the work to the best of my capacity.

And I left the rest in God's hands.

Many women and old men perished, too

060 - Set content to draft or published use release dates - Duration: 1:17.

There is a difference between an item being published and an item being marked as draft.

This is not very different to Blackboard.

When an item is draft it is completely invisible for students.

Here I am going to set this item to draft and when I switch to the Student view there

is no visibility of that item.

Let me go back and set it back to Published.

Once it is Published I can also add a date, sometime in the future.

In the student view this appears a little bit differently.

The students can see the title of the item that is going to come, some time in the future.

That item is not accessible.

When we reach that date and time in the future, then the item becomes accessible.

But only as long as it was published.

So if an item is set to draft it is never visible to students, no matter what the date

and time settings.

The important message here is: always set to "Publish" what you would like the students

to see and use "Draft" to keep the items hidden from their visibility.

The draft setting is helpful if there are items that you want to share only with your

teaching assistants, but not with the students.

Knife - Knives (cuchillo): an instrument used for cutting or as a weapon. - Duration: 1:54.

Knife - Knives an instrument used for cutting or as a weapon.

Albert hands me the knife.

And the way they do it is with delicatessen knives.

And at the time I had no experience with knives at all.

And knowing how to use a knife, it's not that hard.

At that point, the knife goes in.

Ever see that little Swiss Army knife they have to fight with?

For a while, they were iffy about knives.

It beats the $150 knives all the time.

It's a Global cutting knife made in Japan.

It's like girl gangs knife fighting in the streets.

Knives that are our tongues When the world is deaf to our alphabet.

Like a Ginsu knife commercial, there's more!

Let's go wrestle in the mud with our knives or something.

Now grab that firewood and that knife and let's go.

Sharp knives that don't cut for instance are still tough to make.

So we put the knives away.

So it's hard to justify giving a bunch of knives to kids and telling them to go at it.

That's why the Global knives are so neat.

That little knife ain't cutting off a finger.

The Brightlord fished at his belt for a knife.

That's often done by sticking a knife in vegetables usually cabbage.

The paraphrase is like the Swiss Army knife of communication.

They fall with the precision of knives outlining a body.

Today, there's like a knife fight going in the public sphere.

They issued the slave's knives, the enslaved people knives every morning.

They work with pretty sharp, little knives.

What's ironic isn't 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife.

We're going to need to bring some knives in this joint.

Yeah with her long knives.

You give the knife out.

How To Add Captions to a Facebook Live or Video - Duration: 12:31.

Hi everyone! It's Sara Hodge here from the

Connect for Entrepreneurial Women group

and Strong and Worthy, and I'm here today

to do a little tutorial for you on how

to add captions to your videos, whether

it be in a group or on your business

page. And there are two different ways to

do that so I'll be showing you both ways.

One reason it's really handy to add some

captions to your videos... actually several

reasons being that it helps with your

engagement and it also makes it much

easier... for people who are scrolling on

mobile... it helps them stop the scroll and

see your video for a moment, and if they

can't listen in (if they're in a public

place or something like that) they can

still get the full benefit of your video

because they can read the captions

instead. Also it's great for people who

are in your audience that may be

hearing-impaired

and may need to have a look at the

captions in order to know what you're

saying. So, fantastic options adding

captions to your videos now in Facebook,

and there's two different ways, I'm going

to show you both. And we can get started

so, here we are in my Facebook group and

I'll be showing you that way in a moment

but let's hop over first to Facebook

PAGES. So, inside your Facebook page you

can add captions to your videos very

easily and I'll show you how to do that.

So, I've pulled one up. Here I am in my

Strong and Worthy page, and I've pulled

up this video in theater mode that...I

would like to show you how to add

captions to. I've already added some to

this one, but I can still show you.

So just hop over (if you are going to

add captions to your video) to these

three dots here, pick "edit post" and it

will bring up this handy-dandy screen

with lots of cool options, and the best

is the captions. I love this option. You

used to be able to only upload an SRT

file from elsewhere with your captions

in it and I'll show you how to do that

in a moment because that is the option

we need when we're adding captions to a

live video in your group. However in your

Facebook page we now have

this lovely option to auto-generate

captions and when you're... when you're in

a page.... sorry I'm going to go back and

show you something for a second. When

you're in a page in this options section,

if your video didn't already have

captions in it like mine does, beside

this upload SRT file button and there's

a button right here that would say

"generate" and that's the one you want to

click on. And what that does is, it auto

generates captions for you based on

voice recognition technology. So it's a

super handy feature. I already have my

captions in here but I'll show you what

the screen looks like so if you had

clicked on that generate button this is

what you would see. Basically this is a

screen that shows you all the

auto-generated captions for your video

and you have the option of going into

each one of these on its own and doing

some editing. So say... I know I happen to

say "um" sometimes in my videos. I'm sure

it's something we all do... something I

definitely need to work on. But if I can

go through here and find the word "um"...

there's one right there...

I can just quickly edit that out. Also

it spelled my name wrong, I don't have

an "H", so things like that you can go

through and edit. I'll come back here and

fix all these things up later. Just click

on "save to video" when you're finished

and it will take a moment... your default

language should be English... already set.

Click on save and there is your video

with the captions added in. Super quick

and easy to do, so that's how you do it

for your Facebook page live videos. So

let's hop over now to the group because

again, the process for this is a little

bit different. It's somewhat clunky and

hopefully Facebook will be addressing

this soon. I would love to see that auto

generate option inside my group. For now

we have to upload an SRT file but not to

worry

because you can

actually auto generate captions with YouTube,

and that's how we're going to do it

right now. Super fast and easy - it just

takes a few more extra steps. So the

video inside my group that I want to

edit today... I just clicked on videos

there... is this one right here. I'll click

on that and I just want to show you

something real quick before we get

started. So I'm going to hit options and

edit video just to show you something in

here. So this is the edit video screen

for a Facebook group live video. You can

see how different it is from the one

that we looked at on the Facebook page a

moment ago and this is where you can add

your captions in this particular group

so.... or in your group, sorry. So this is

where you would upload your SRT file

which we're about to create in YouTube

and I just wanted to show you that so

you know where it is. I'm going to cancel

out of there go back for a second... I need

to open this video up in theater mode

like I just had it a moment ago. Here we

go. So we click on "options" and the first

thing we want to do is download the HD

version. That's quite the look on my face there...

We want to download the HD version of

this video onto our computer and then

we're going to go ahead and upload that

to YouTube so we can add our captions. So

go ahead and click on that "download HD".

I've already done it for this video so

we'll head over to YouTube now. Once you

have downloaded that file onto your

computer you can upload it to YouTube.

Just go to your dashboard and go to

"video manager" and you can click on this

up arrow here to upload your video and

it's going to ask you whether you want

to make this video public or private or

unlisted. Now, the benefit of making it

public is that you get more eyeballs on

it it's just another distribution

channel for you

to let more people see and engage with

your content. So that's something to

think about. I... in this particular case

want my video to be private and so

that's because I want to keep this

within the group for now. This was just a

video about an announcement of the live

video that I did with Christy Laverty a

while back, so it doesn't need to be

something that's on YouTube because it's

over already, but there were a few little

tips in that video also. So I made it

private and I've already done this. I've

already uploaded mine so I'm not going

to go through that process again but

that's how you would do it. So then once

your video is uploaded you'll see it

here at the top. Just click on that to

open it up and when you're in your video

screen to add your captions what you

need to do is head on over to this

"subtitles CC" button. Click on that and

you will want to... it takes a moment... you

might not have this right away. I've

noticed this when I first upload a video

on YouTube. You're looking for this

"English" published button with the green

light beside it, and when I first upload

a video this doesn't appear right away.

So you may have to wait a few moments if

you don't see it; you need this button in

order to do this. So give it a couple

moments and it should appear. So once

that... once you see that there, you're

going to click on that and as you can

see doing that brings up your auto

captions... your auto-generated captions so

again just like in the Facebook page

auto-generated captions you'll need to

go through this and edit. You can see how

it didn't add any capital capitals on to

my um... my... the word "can" there, so you can

go ahead and edit that if you need to.

And the way to do that is to click on

your "edit" button

and you can go ahead and do that.

You can see earlier that it won't let

you do it in just that screen, you have

to actually click "Edit" to do it. So you

can go through with all of these, edit

your subtitles and when you're finished

you save the changes. Okay, now we're

going to go back to that screen we were

just in, click on "actions" and it's "SRT"

that you want to download. This will

download your newly captioned video to

your computer, where you can proceed to

then upload it to your Facebook group. So

these are not perfect... I'm going to leave

it as is for now and I will fix it later

but just for the purpose of showing you

how, I will download the SRT file.

Back in your group, (there it is right

here by the way) there in your group you

want to "edit this video" and before you

can upload your newly captioned video

you'll notice that Facebook's asking you

to change the format of your file to

this: "filename.en_US.SRT".

So you need to make sure that you change

your file name. If you don't it will not

upload correctly. So let's go find it...

where is it.... it's in my downloads... here it is.

So let's change that... just takes a quick

second. I'm going to name it

announcements.... and there it is. So now I

can go back to Facebook. I'm going to

choose the file I want to upload and

here it is here... (I'll show it to you). That's what I

want right there. And there it is right

there.

So now all I need to do is save

and then when I view my video there are

my captions. Now again, I need to go in

and fix this. I'm just showing you this

for... for the sake of showing you how it

works. I'll definitely have to go in and

edit those and I'll do that in YouTube

and then re-upload my edited captions.

But for the record that is how you will

do it and then once you're done with

that you will have a captioned video

inside your Facebook group! So it's that

simple, that easy. It's a few extra steps

like I said, different than the Facebook

pages and hopefully we'll get that

generate button soon, but in the meantime

that's how you can do it and if you have

any questions you can ask me in Connect

or here, and I'll be happy to answer

those questions for you but that's the

quick and easy way and hopefully you

found this helpful and hopefully you can

now use this to add some captions to

your videos now. Thanks a lot for your

time. Bye now!
