for the Golden Jubilee at Pentecost 2017.

As a way of preparing for that great historic occasion we are encouraging everybody

to spend some time praying on various themes relating to the Holy Spirit as we journey towards Pentecost.

So each month you can make a short biblical reflection and listen to one of the pioneers of the renewal

sharing their thoughts about that particular scripture.

So we hope you'll join with us in praying towards the Golden Jubilee!

It's a great joy for me to be with you

as we journey towards the great jubilee

of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal,

and I'd like to take a few moments just to

share with you a passage of scripture

which is really important for us as we

reflect on the great coming of the Holy Spirit.

And from the Acts of the Apostles,

which I'm sure you know very well,

we read from chapter 1 verse 4, where it says,

"When He had been a table with them,

He had told them not to leave Jerusalem,

but to wait there for what the Father had promised.

It is, He had said, what you have heard me speak about.

John baptized with water,

and you, not many days from now,

will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Now, having met together, they asked Him,

"Lord, has the time come?

Are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

And He replied, "It's not for you to know times or dates

that the Father has decided by His own authority,

but you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes on you

and then you will be my witnesses,

not only in Jerusalem, but throughout Judea and Samaria,

and indeed to the ends of the earth." "

Now, there is just a few little points

that I'd like to draw out of that scripture,

and the first one is the promise:

the incredible promise of the Father

to give us a gift.

And it's, it's a gift of power.

And it's a gift that we actually need.

There's none of us that don't need this gift

if we are to be followers of Jesus.

And so there was a, there was a real challenge to wait,

as there is for us.

So, what is this waiting?

This waiting is meant to

stir up within us a sense of

being open to receive the gift.

The idea of vigil, of waiting,

of expectancy,

of the gift coming.

What'll it be?

And no one could imagine the wonderful gift that the Father had in mind

in giving us the Holy Spirit.

Now, now, for the Apostles, that happened at Pentecost,

where there was a tremendous outpouring,

where, if you spoke to one of the Apostles

and ask them, "Have you received the Holy Spirit?

Have you experienced the Holy Spirit in your life?"

The answer was obvious!

It would be like, "How could we forget such an experience?"

It was so profound, we were,

we were hiding together, we were praying together,

we were waiting together in this little room,

and all of a sudden, the power of God comes upon us.

Now, for us, in our lives, it's not always

an experience like that.

We have received the Holy Spirit in a our Baptism

and in our Confirmation.

And each time we receive the Eucharist,

we receive the life of God

within us and it's strengthened within us,

but sometimes we, we don't know how to respond,

or we're not aware, we're not expectant, we're not open.

And so we can create obstacles to

that experience of the Holy Spirit in our lives,

and the challenge for each of us is to wait,

is to pray, is to be open, and is,

is to join the church in saying,

"Come Holy Spirit,"

the great prayer of the church to the Holy Spirit

which has resonated through the centuries.

Of course the Holy Spirit has come,

but we need the Holy Spirit day by day by day.

And we need to awaken ourselves

to the fact that there is a gift residing within us

which is meant, not only for the animation of their own

spiritual life that, that we might be

effective disciples of Jesus, but for the

animation of the mission to the world,

that we might go out as authentic witnesses of Christ,

and reach the world with good news.

I guess the other point that I really want to make today,

the final point that I want to make,

is that want to make is that there comes a responsibility

with receiving that power of the Holy Spirit,

that just as Jesus said "You will go forth."

And, you'll start local, you'll go national, and you'll go international,

and so the reality is true for us.

It's a spreading, its like that ripple effect

of the word of God going forth. The good news going forth.

And we are challenged to be

instruments of that good news.

Pope Benedict, when he was in Sydney,

for World Youth Day, he said,

"What legacy will you leave to the next generation?"

What legacy will you leave to the next generation?"

How will you use the gifts given to you by the Holy Spirit?

I think that's a question for each of us today to answer.

What legacy will we give to the next generation

as a response to being faithful and obedient

to the action of the Holy Spirit within us.

Let's remember it's not just about us.

We have received a great gift:

a gift to be shared with the whole world,

and as Pope Francis has said,

take this Baptism in the Spirit to the whole world,

and to renew the church and transform the world.

Blender Tutorial | Basic Lighting In The 3D Viewport | OpenGL Rendering Tutorial - Part 1 - Duration: 3:34.

Hello and welcome.

I am going to teach you a simple way to create shadows and relatively realistic illumination,

all of which will be visible in the material shading mode of the 3D viewport.

After watching this three parts tutorial, you will be able to create shadows and illumination,

both of which will be rendered instantly with the use of the OpenGL rendering.

Yes, indeed, with the technique that I will teach you, you will be able to render shadows

much faster than if you were using the render engines, because you will be rendering directly

exactly what is seen in your 3D viewport.

Your render times will never be the same, once you learn those techniques.

So, let's begin with the illumination.

I will assume you already have a scene to test this technique.

Just so you have an idea of the size of this scene, this object is approximately 3 kilometers

wide.

To give you some more perspective, I will zoom in on the characters.

As you can see, this scene is entirely dark, as there is no illumination yet.

These two characters will have their shadows appearing on the floor directly on this 3D

viewport.

So, make sure that you are on the Blender Render engine, using the material shading

display mode for the 3D viewport, and then activate ambient occlusion in the world tab.

Also, activate the environment lighting.

Set the energy value to 0.090, using the sky texture as the source.

Now, you will notice that there is some faint light on the scene, which was generated by

the sky background texture.

Activate indirect lighting.

Ok, now I will show you the position for the main sun lamp.

I assume you already know how to create a lamp object, so I have created my lamp beforehand.

The sun lamp needs to be at a distance of 6 to 7 kilometers from the center of the scene.

You can adjust the angle of your sun lamp, in whichever way you feel like.

To get the best results, try to position it with an angle close to 45 degrees or so.

Ok, now go to the sun lamp's object data tab.

You may notice that my scene is still dark.

This is because I haven't activated my sun lamp yet.

When I click the specular checkbox, the sun lamp is now generating specular illumination.

Now, if I click the diffuse checkbox, the sun lamp will allow me to see the diffuse

color information for the objects of the scene.

As you can see, we have some pretty good illumination going on.

Note that the energy value for the lamp is 1.8.

for the characters of this scene.

The words of Jesus bring life.

a person who hears the words of Jesus and who believes is immediately changed.

The power of God changes him, he is born again, he becomes a new person; he is not a sinner

any more, because he believed.

There is POWER in the words of Jesus because as Jesus said, His words are Spirit and LIFE.

But very few believe and that is why the they are not changed.

That is why the words of Jesus have no effect on them.

Many say that they believe in Jesus, but they have not changed.

There is no change in their lives, they are still sinners, they are like the rest of the

world.

They never believed and that is why the words of Jesus never had any effect on them.

If you believe the words of Jesus you will be changed and if you keep on obeying, you

will constantly be changed, you will be transformed into His likeness.

Jesus said:"Repent and be baptized" and He will give His Holy Spirit in those who believe

and who obey Him, and they will be changed.

They will be changed through their relationship with Him.

They will be changed through the words that He speaks to them and because they believe,

they will obey Him.

They will change and they will change the world.

If there is no change in you after you have read or heard the words of Jesus, then you

have never believed.

Most people never believe.

Most believers never changed because they never believed.

Have you believed in Jesus Christ?

Do you believe His words?

Have you read His words in the gospel, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John?

Did you believe and have you changed?

Were you changed?

Are you changing the world around you because the words of Jesus are alive in you?

Do you believe?

"Civics has not been taught in the American public school system since 1970.

And that means everyone in Congress never studied the constitution and the bill of rights

as you and I might have," he continued.

"And that is a critical flaw because it's why we were admired and respected for so long,

it gives us our national identity, it tells the world who we are and why we are who we

are, and without a frame that gives us values that stand behind the bill of rights, we're

just floating in the air and our sectors of society are not connected, "said Dreyfuss.

He went on that the best approach to demolishing this terrible political correctness is with

appropriate instruction.

"And we do share the notion that education accomplishes certain things.

One, it turns students into citizens.

And, two, it teaches students how to run the country before it's their turn to run the

country.

And, three, it teaches the values of this nation, "explained Dreyfuss.

SAARC Satellite, PM Modi's Gift to South Asia - Set To Take Off: 10 Facts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-year-old promise of a satellite for SAARC nations will

be fulfilled this week.

The Rs. 235-crore "South Asia Satellite", which will cater to seven nations, including

India, will take off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on May 5, piggybacking on the 'naughty

boy of ISRO' - the Satellite Launch Vehicle - on its 11th mission.

With Pakistan fully opting out of the project, the "South Asia Satellite" will cater to Nepal,

Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Afghanistan, which is yet to ink the deal, is also on board.

The 2,230-kg communication satellite, which Indian space research organisation ISRO calls

GSAT-9, has been fabricated over three years.

It would have cost the participating nations almost $1,500 million over its 12-year life.

The government says the satellite will "enable a full range of services to neighbours".

The areas will include telecommunication, television, direct-to-home, VSATs, tele-education

and telemedicine.

It can also provide secure hot-lines among the participating nations, which will be useful

in case of management of disasters like earthquakes, cyclones, floods and tsunamis.

The "South Asia Satellite" has 12 transponders -- devices for forming a communication channel

with radio signals.

Each nation will get access to at least one transponder, through which they could beam

their own programming.

Each nation has to develop its own ground infrastructure, but India is willing to extend

assistance.

A month after the Narendra Modi government took over, the Prime Minister had asked the

space community to "take up the challenge of developing a SAARC satellite that we can

dedicate to our neighbourhood as a gift from India".

The surprise announcement of the "valuable gift to our SAARC countries" came as the Prime

Minister addressed the scientists at ISRO after a successful launch of a satellite.

"Prime Minister Modi has actually extended his slogan 'Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas' to

India's neighbourhood essentially to service the needs of the poor in South Asia," said

Prashant Agarwal, engineer and the point-person in the Ministry of External Affairs that's

piloting the project.

At the planning meeting on June 22, 2015, Pakistan decided to 'opt out' of the proposed

SAARC satellite suggesting that it had its "own space programme".

Pakistan has five satellites but lacks heavy duty launchers and satellite fabrication facilities.

Sources said Pakistan was not allowed to veto the project, which was renamed "South Asia

Satellite".

Three SAARC nations already have full-fledged communication satellites: Pakistan and Sri

Lanka have been helped by China and Afghanistan has a communication satellite which is an

old India-made satellite acquired from Europe.

10.

Bangladesh is likely to have a satellite later this year made with help from French multinational

Thales.

Nepal has already floated a tender to acquire two communications satellites.

Back to the floating ghost.

It is really quite a lot of fun and super simple.

For this fun but spooky project, you will need:

1.A piece of tissue paper (a clean piece of tissue paper please.)

2.A balloon � you will see why.

3.Scissors � there will be some cutting.

4.A head of hair (or borrow someone�s hair if needed)

5.Spooky Music (this is optional)

When you have all of these items, you will be able to start this cool project.

Ok � Back to How to make a floating ghost project.

What to do and how to do it.

First, cut out a ghost shape in the tissue as shown about 1.5 inches long.

Be very careful, tissue breaks easily, and of course add some eyes with a marker.

If you are using 2-ply tissues, peel apart the

2 layers to get the tissue as thin as possible.

Cut out a few ghosts for more fun and place them on a flat surface.

You might want to make some out of regular paper to compare.

Having a slightly heavier ghost can be easier to control.

Second - Blow up the balloon and tie it.

You don�t want the air to escape � just saying.

Then rub it really fast through your hair for about 10 seconds.

This will add a static charge.

We need this for our project to work.

For our floating project or experiment to work all you do is.

With your tissue ghost lying flat on a table.

Step #3.

Slowly bring the balloon near the ghost, and the

ghost will begin to rise toward the balloon.

If the balloon has enough static charged.

The ghost will rise and float right up to the balloon,

even when it is several inches away.

With a little practice, you can get the ghost to rise,

float, and even dance around.

Oh this would be so cool to try.

Here is a tip: The easiest way to make the ghost rise

without it sticking to the balloon.

Is to tape the very tip of the bottom of the ghost to a table.

Or if you place a piece of tape to the bottom of your

ghost to make it bottom heavy.

Try different things to see what makes your ghost even cooler.

The goal is to get your ghost to rise and move along with the balloon.

With a good static charge, the balloon can control

he ghost from several inches away.

Just in case, if you were wondering �How it works?�

When you rub the balloon through your hair, invisible electrons

(with a negative charge) build up on the surface of the balloon.

The electrons have the power to pull very light objects

(with a positive charge) toward them � in this case, the tissue ghost!

I'm sure many of us in the capital area flipped on our AC while driving yesterday.

It was T-shirts and shorts weather and today seems to be a repeat of yesterday.

Highs will get up to a sizzling 28 degrees Celsius this afternoon while Gwangju and Daejeon

will top out at 27 degrees.

Along with sunny skies,... high to very high UV rays are expected across the nation so

be sure to apply a good amount of sunblock before heading outdoors.

The air is getting drier each day with a dry weather advisory in place in many regions,

including here in the capital, so drink plenty of water to stay hydrated also dust levels

will remain high till noon.

Tomorrow is forecast to be even hotter here in Seoul... getting up to 29 degrees then...

later in the week... we'll see nationwide rain on Friday that will push down the highs

to seasonal averages.

The capital saw its highest temperature of the season on Monday getting up to 28.3 degrees

Celsius... and the spring heat will continue today and into tomorrow getting up to 29 degrees.

We'll have to wait till Friday before things cool down as nationwide rain will push down

the highs to seasonal averages.

So today is going to be a hot one getting up to 28 degrees in Seoul while Gwangju and

Daejeon will top out at 27 degrees.

High to very high UV levels will beam down on the nation, and especially those in the

regions with very high UV levels will need to take all precautions because unprotected

skin can burn in minutes.
