The Search for Eleven | Stranger Things 2 Soundtrack | Fan-Made Music - Duration: 2:12.
Welcome to the commentary track! Here, I will be showing you more about the making of this soundtrack.
I recommend watching the video without this function before activating it the second time around.
My good old CASIO CTK-551 has been helping me make this tune, with it's classic look and feel.
Stranger Things is my favourite series at the moment, and I think the music plays a huge part in creating the authentic atmosphere of the show.
Here comes the up-tempo bit, where I've added several layers of synths, playing separate figures/scale runs.
I've created a drum track with a heavy filter on top, that rises and falls, letting through mid-range frequencies, or cutting them out.
Here I'm raising the threshold of said filter so that high frequencies come through, and all of a sudden the intentisty goes up with a few hundred percent.
There's also a deep heavy-metal inspired note marking the beats
This part took some practice to get right on the keyboard, but I nailed it in the end!
The chords I'm using for this part are Gm, F#, Bbm, B something I think works really well with the vibe of Stranger Things.
Here's the return of the synths we heard in the intro. These synths are also affected by a rising/falling frequency filter.
There's also a slight detune effect.
