Hello, this is John Locke, and today we're answering a viewer question from Reddit.

The question goes like this, "We've written our title tags and our meta descriptions for

all the pages on our site, but one thing that we're noticing is that Google seems to not

be showing our default title tags or meta descriptions.

They are showing completely different title tags.

These are not the title tags we've written.

They were fine a couple of weeks ago, they were exactly what we wrote, but now we're

seeing different titles and descriptions when we look at the search engine results pages.

What's going on?"

Okay so, what's going on is Google is rewriting your titles and descriptions.

Google started dong this probably about a year ago.

But they do this quite often to fit different search queries.

So if somebody searches for a particular search and they are not seeing the exact thing in

your title tag (that fits the query), they can take stuff from somewhere else in the

page if they think that it's going to fit the search query better.

So in other words, if they see a segment of text in your page that fits the searcher's

search query better, then that will sometimes become the meta description.

Or if Google thinks that it can rewrite your title tag in way that it fits THAT particular

search phrase better, then they will do that.

So I think that's part of their machine learning, what they call RankBrain internally.

The algorithm is trying to test things and see what the titles and descriptions are for

the end users, the people who are searching.

So this is quite common.

I actually see this happen with one of the most popular pages on my own website, it happens

quite a lot.

Where depending on how you search for this thing, it will show different meta descriptions

or title tags.

So it's quite common, you're not losing your mind.

This happens.

Now, when it comes to writing titles and descriptions, follow best practices.

Try and write the best title tag that you can, and the best meta description you can.

But if you're seeing Google use something else, it's no big deal.

We develop Sansan and Eight, services that turn business cards – the evidence of business encounters – into text data.

We knew Cloud Vision API was right for our needs.

Using the OCR technology of Cloud Vision API, we achieve identification and text conversion of the information items on business cards.

We migrated to Google Cloud Platform to handle an image processing service performing 8M requests daily.

As part of the migration, we faced unexpected issues like compression requirements.

With a two-man team of one infrastructure engineer and one application engineer, neither with experience with Google Cloud Platform,

we had the full system up and running within three weeks.

In terms of creating data, if a single character is incorrect on an e-mail address, it is unusable.

Therefore, we have to produce data to a high degree of fidelity and we aim for 99.9% accuracy.

Therefore, we continue to use Cloud Vision API to meet these needs.

With Cloud Vision API, not only does it identify data with greater fidelity, but using coordinates and paragraph breaks lets you detect various fields found on business cards.

We've found it exceedingly easy to use.

We have also begun migrating some of our micro services.

We've run simulations that put us at a 25% cost reduction.

It is letting us better focus our R&D/development resources to build up new functionality.

As our company globalizes, we will have to process even larger quantities of data and provide added value to users' businesses.

To that end, we want to migrate our infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform for its ability to support our data platforms.

I believe that the scalability of Google and the ability to benefit from large-volume data processing performance are great merits.

How To Use Android Without Google? - Duration: 5:59.

Recently, Google has been in and out of a lot of controversies.

And the last one, was related to location tracking where we discovered that, even if

we turn off the location button on our Android phones, Google would still be able to track us.

And this was only recent times, Google has made a lot of such "mistakes" concerning

our, data and trust.

So, if you ever thought of removing Google from your smartphone, great!

because you are not alone.

Hey friends!

I am CJ from Fossbytes.com and today, I'll be telling you some different ways to

de-google your smartphone.

I'll also be talking about few alternatives for Google services, that you can easily use

on your Android device so stay tuned till the end.

Now, without any further ado, let's get started

Google might be big and strong but there

are many ways to shun Google, from your Android device.

We will start with the easiest one that is - Blinding Google

It's not a term, it's just something that I came up with.

Anyway, it basically means hiding yourself and your phone from Google.

And yes, it can be a difficult task, not because it's tough to hide from Google but because

there are so many options, that need to be toggled off.

So we'll quickly discuss all of them, starting with Google tracking --

For those who don't know, Google by default, tracks our location,

search queries, device, information et cetera.

But, keep listening and you will be able to turn off all these settings.

Just head over to your Android settings - then Google - Tap on your account

And then go to data tab and toggle off all the options under

Web and App activity.

Here, you will notice how Google, pitches the grand idea of personalized experience.

Now, I am not denying that the Google assistant isn't great, or the web sync isn't helpful.

But the point of concern is what data sacrifices are we making on a continuous basis

for these, so-called "personalized experiences".

Let's take an example of your travels.

Now google already knows your flight details and accommodation details,

but where's the full stop?

In no time, you will start getting ads related to your whole travel itinerary.

So if this data sacrifice, concerns you even a bit, then while you're on the Google account

page, don't forget to clear all your Google activity.

This will clear all your search data Google has on you.

(hopefully)

Since it's about hiding from Google, I don't think keeping the Google Sync enabled would

be a wise choice, so let's disable that too.

For that, you'll need to go to your Google account and toggle off all the apps and services

The final step would be, getting rid of Google apps.

Now, I know it can be tough for many of you, because apps like Google assistant

and google chrome, are the daily drivers.

But let's face it, Android without google simply cannot happen, if Google apps are not

done with.

So, you can uninstall or disable google apps, depending upon the device.

Now, this is the point, where Google draws the line because there are many phones don't

let you remove Google apps in any manner.

Basically, at this point, Google apps turn into bloatware - A term

coined for pre-installed apps that cannot be removed from the phone,

through standard ways.

If you're stuck at this step, what you can do is read our article on "how to remove

bloatware from Android".

Also, comment below if you want me to make a video on that.

Moving on to a bit severe step that you can follow for removing Google or Google apps,

basically anything you want out of the device.

That is Rooting Android.

Now, rooting is fun for people who know about it and a disaster for those who don't.

The fun part includes messing with apps, which in our case are the Google apps, installing

different Android flavors aka custom ROM and more.

The disaster part of it is that it can also do some irreversible damages.

For one, if rooting steps are not followed precisely, it may brick your phone.

Not to mention the fact that rooting smartphones immediately void your device warranty.

But If you ready to take the risks involved, then you can use this step to remove Google

from your smartphone.

I have mentioned some good links on rooting, in the description below.

If rooting is a bit too much, then let's talk about our last method to remove Google

from your device that is resetting it.

Now, I know resetting android phone can be a bit of a pain, especially when using Google

Backup is simply out of the question.

But as an alternative, there are hundreds of backup apps on Play Store that do the same

thing as Google backup so you can use them instead.

Coming back to resetting the device, one you do that just make sure you untick the Google

services which device asks at the beginning.

Otherwise, you will again have to deal with disabling all the google services.

Also, the google apps will still be there, so you will have to remove them manually.

So this was all about eradicating google from your life.

It doesn't matter if you reset the device, root it or simply turn off the Google services.

Just make sure you have some good Google alternatives in place.

here is a quick list of Google alternatives that I like to use -

For Google Play Store, I would recommend Apk mirror.

It has millions of apps on the platform and doesn't require your Google sign up.

The only problem with Apkmirror is that its a website so whenever you'll need to download

an app, you will have to use the browser.

And don't go and start using the Google browser.

Instead, I would say you should install the Tor browser.

It is one of the best browsers when it comes to data security.

As for Google search, Duck Duck Go is one of the best alternatives in my opinion.

It doesn't track your search queries and especially, doesn't give your data to advertisers.

For other Google services like Google maps, assistant, etc.

There are hundreds of apps available on Apk mirror.

By the way, F-droid is also a good choice as a Google Play Store alternative.

I would advise you to look for Google alternatives beforehand

otherwise, searching for good apps will get real tiresome.

CS Portable will return to Google Play?! New skins in SPD? More explains! - Duration: 8:41.

Hi everybody, Cyganshow here.

Lately, there has been a lot of rumors about our team and our project. We want to answer all these rumors and explain some issues, so we're starting.

1. The application has been stopped

People write several times during the week that CS Portable does not work because the application has been stopped.

All you need to do is read the description under the video and you would know that CSP does not work on the newest Android.

Besides, there are many comments of the same, with the same answer, just read. So let's repeat again: Remember!

Old CSP versions do not work on the latest Android system. CS Portable works on Android 5.1.1 and older!

If you have Android in a newer version, you can download the version 0.003 / Strike Port Destruction or the Russian version to your device.

2. Can you add new weapons to Strike Port Destruction or CSP? Can you fix errors related to CSP.

We will never do it because: OUR TEAM NO FIXED THESE CSP VERSIONS ONLY SHARE IT!!! Under almost all videos, it is written who made the given version of the game.

Before you write a comment that is in the body of the question, check the description under the video.

If we shared CSP versions on our channel, does not mean that we can edit SPD or CSP. To close this topic, we inform everyone that we focus only on our project - Counter Forces Infinitiv.

3. Can you put the fixed version on Google Play?

This is a frequently asked question on our channel. Let's repeat once again: CS Portable is not our game and we can not do it, even though the creators do not suport CSP anymore. CSP STILL IS OWNED BY CRITICAL FORCE LTD.

4. Will we add English to 0.002ru? How do I change the language to English in this version?

No, we will not add, because WE NOT MAKING IT. In addition, this game is intended for Russian players.

5. I have seen on your channel a large number of outdated/broken versions. Including 0.002ru, 2.62gA, 2.67f, 2.62, 0.003 and I could have missed some. Are you sure you want to keep these videos on the Internet?

It is a good idea. We have already removed the old versions of CSP from our channel. As for the version of 0.002ru, this version will continue to appear on the channel, because we also support our friends from Russia and provide a version that they will do.

We noticed that the mobile game is being destroyed by hackers, not by the number of versions. Remember that although we have removed outdate versions from our channel,

people will play different versions in LAN, because it is not possible to remove obsolete CSP versions from the entire Internet. There is a lot of video on the Internet that presents a broken version of CSP.

6. On the PC side, what are people supposed to understand in "Fix", "Full Pack" or "Game + All maps?

The names indicate what it means. Full Pack PC or Android indicates the set of all versions for this platform, "GAME + ALL MAPS" - it also does not have to be explained because the name itself indicates it.

7. Why is everyone making their own version? What`s their purpose exactly? Deadzone is the one making versions. Bager, Bedsquad, Shadow and Oleg shouldn't. If they want to feel useful they can all join forces on one version making development advancing faster.

This is not a question for us. From what we know, Shadow wants to saves the CSP community, but you should ask him about it.

The Russian community is larger than the CSP Community. The CSP Community has *674 members. The Russian community has *1087 members, so why should Oleg stop supporting them?

From what we know, DeadZone supports Oleg and helps him. Bager created only the version vk5 and vk6, which from what we know were test versions.

As far as our team is concerned, WE NOT CREATED ANY CSP VERSION. Version 2.70 [AIR] was not made by us. BedSquad Community is a community that concerns our channel, and supporting CSP.

The project we are creating is not a CSP version, but a separate game that will be similar but will be expanded.

8. I`ve been playing CSP and i`ve seen some players who's cheating which is unfair and I decided if could you guys ban those cheater's from csp so the game wont die?

Yes, we have created a system ban, but in our project, not in CSP.

We want to refer to the last live LostGamePleye - the owner of the CSP Community server and his guest - Hydra. A lot of information was said that is just false. So:

Hydra: When i talk to him they said we are not making money , we are just making maps etc. KondziuX sent me a video showing maps, the same source code only changing maps.

It is not true that he talked with us about the fact that we only make maps and sent him a video with maps for Counter Forces Infinitiv.

If he only saw the video, he would know that these are not maps for Counter Forces Infinitiv, only for CSP. We do not know how he could see the game code by seeing a map to the CSP, since these are just maps.

This is proof that they simply do not know it and invent their own theories. In addition, LostGamePleye accused us that the maps were completely copied from other creators.

Let us remind you that on the 1k sub we have made three maps on our channel (Realistic Pool, Nuketown2025 or Realistic Forest).

We agree with this Realistic Pool is based on the original map, however WE MODIFIED THIS MAP TO IMPROVE THEM.

Almost all textures have been changed. We were accused that the whole map is the same. The next map is Nuketown2025. This is the map from COD, it was only ported to CSP by us, and Realistic Forest was 100% made by us from scratch.

But these errors we not be repaired, because these maps have been taken a long time ago.I will add that we have learned how to use the Unity program on these maps.The maps that we have made available do not destroy games but add variety to it.

Up to several hundred thousand games are created modifications to different maps, so why CSP can not has it, since these are only maps, not cheat?

LostGamePleye: I am pretty sure the game they making have same source code as CSP, i dont see the guys have any experience with coding games. They dont know how to edit.

Hearing it, we wanted to laugh. Lost really does not know anything about the project. Interestingly, a few days before this live, he asked us if we use CSP files for Counter Forces Infinitiv.

We've explained everything to him, what you can see on this screen. Although we have told him that we do not use the CSP code, he said that we use it.

Summarizing. Although Hydra said a few incorrect sentences, it does not mean he is a bad man. He could say that because he did a mistake and he apologized to us.

As for LostGamePleye, we will not say what kind of person he is. We do not want to insult him. All we can say is that his podcast disappeared from his channel just because his denigrate was not liked by some people, so he removed it.

Otherwise, this podcast would been on his channel. When he received 5 dislike under his podcast, he immediately wrote to us that it was his mistake, but he did not apologize to us.

After all this situation under his other video received dislikes, so he removed all his video. We are not going to cry now, because he did not apologize to us.

He's just constantly looking for a war with us and we know what is a man. If "Lost" watch this material, then we would like to say that though you are the owner of a CSP server, you should be happy because you do not deserve to be one because of your behavior.

Think about your behavior and do not do it anymore, because talking about someone false rumor is meanness. We do not want to offend you in any way, but to make you aware that you are doing wrong.

Android Developer Story: Mobills grows revenue with Google Play subscription features - Duration: 2:32.

Mobills came from a need of mine.

I used to control my finances through spreadsheets.

I thought it would be a good idea

to develop an app so that I could control my finances

in a more practical and easy way.

When I launched it on Google Play,

many users started downloading it, and the business started.

Mobills is a free platform and app,

which people use to start controlling their finances.

However, in order to have access to all of the app's functions,

they pay a monthly subscription.

This year we have had a significant increase

in the number of Android subscriptions.

That is due to many tools from Google Play which we started to use.

We realized that we had a great issue,

in which we had many users that

used our free app for a long period of time.

Using Firebase Remote Config,

along with introductory price, we developed a strategy

to offer progressive discounts to our users,

in which, starting from 100 days of use, we offered a 10% discount.

With 200 days, we offered 20%.

From 300 days, 30%.

After 400 days of free use, we offered up to 50% discount

using introductory price. That led us to see

a 30% increase in converting users into subscribers

and a 20% increase in our average weekly revenue.

In order to retain our users, we started using a grace period,

in which we enabled seven days for the user to resolve

any issues they might have had with payment.

We perceived a 40% decrease in the number of involuntary churns.

We started using real-time notification,

which helps users to receive real-time notifications

if there is any error with their payment method.

We have also seen a positive impact

in decreasing the number of cancelled subscriptions.

My advice to other developers

is to use all of Google Play Console's available tools.

To use a grace period in order to decrease involuntary churns.

To use introductory price in order to offer discounts

to users who are not subscribed yet.

To work on the app's quality.

And to really build an app that has great usability.

Quality has always been key to our business' growth.

Equitable Icebreaker with Google Maps - Duration: 4:14.

So the first thing I want to show you is an introductory activity. An icebreaker,

actually, that was developed by my colleague Ana Cortesio at Laney College.

And I've expanded on it a little bit so let me show you how it works. This

activity takes place in a discussion forum in Canvas and it has two parts. So

for the first part, students are asked to open up a class map that I've created in

Google Maps and I've asked them to locate their hometowns, place a pin on

their town, and then write something special or unique about where they come

from. And also add an image or a video as well. So here you'll see that our map is

embedded into the discussion forum. However, we can't actually edit here. This

is view only mode so for them to be able to edit they'll click this link here or they can also click this box that says "View larger map" and it will open up our

map in a new window. They'll click Edit and you'll see already that there's a

list of students with their hometowns mentioned. And so they will scroll, they

will zoom in until they find their hometown. They'll click the pin button

here and that will open up a box for them to type into. So they'll write their

name, their hometown, something special about where they're from or something

they want the class to know about where they come from. And then they'll include

an image or a video and upload that. So I'll show you what it looks like.

So if they click on the pins then it'll open up and you'll have to move the map

a little bit. So open up the description of the hometown along with the picture

and you'll see that some students have included a few photos. And now I'll show

you what part 2 involves. So once students place their pin on the map it

will automatically show up in our embedded version here in the discussion

forum. And part 2 ask them to travel the world to scan the map and read all of

the different pins to learn about where their classmates come from. And you'll

see that we have a very diverse class. This is a English to Speakers of Other

Language so students do come from all over the world. And after they take a

tour, I want them to find any similarities or comment on whether or

not they've been to each others home towns or maybe they have some questions

about what their classmates talked about in their descriptions. I want them to

share what they found most interesting and kind of start connecting. And to do

that they will then click reply here and post to the discussion. So you asked me

to comment on why icebreakers are important and this particular icebreaker,

I think, really helps students to create connections to get to know one another

at the onset of the course and feel more comfortable learning together. And I

think this one's also fun because it allows them to experiment with the

technology. They're probably familiar with Google Maps but in a new innovative

capacity. I think this is also an equity-minded activity because it shows that

the instructor really values each and everyone's unique lived experiences and

also encourages other students to do the same. So it levels the playing fields at

the beginning of the class.

 France's competition regulator has ordered Google to take measures regarding some of its advertising methods, saying these had hit French firm Amadeus which runs a directory service in France

 "Google will need to quickly clarify the rules for its Google Ads online advertising platform that apply to electronic paid information services in order to make them more precise and intelligible and to ensure their application under non-discriminatory conditions," the regulator said in a statement

 Its decision comes a few weeks after France's data protection watchdog fined Google EUR 50 million ($57

5 million, or roughly Rs. 405 crores) for breaching European Union online privacy rules, the biggest such penalty levied against a US tech giant

 Google said it would appeal the record EUR 50 million fine imposed by France's data regulator for failing to meet the EU's strict new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

 "We've worked hard to create a GDPR consent process for personalised ads that is as transparent and straightforward as possible, based on regulatory guidance and user experience testing," the company said in a statement

 "We're also concerned about the impact of this ruling on publishers, original content creators and tech companies in Europe and beyond," it added

We can export a snapshot of our stories for offline access.

In this example, we have a story that contains multiple pages with a wide range of objects,

including charts, images, value driver trees, tables, input controls, and geo maps.

We can export the story from the Save menu.

We can export either as PDF documents or as Google Slides. Here, we will start with PDF.

When exporting as a PDF, we can save the whole story or specify a range of pages.

We can also choose to have the export happen in the background

if we want to continue with other work while the story is being exported,

insert an appendix at the end of the story to document all the filter settings,

and scale measures so that they appear the same across all pages.

Note that we are warned the R visualization will not display in the PDF.

The PDF downloads automatically.

Each page of the story is reproduced as a single page in the PDF.

Note that not all objects are supported.

Most charts render as displayed in the original story,

but the Value Driver Tree widget was not exported.

The table is displayed based on the level of drill for the account dimension

and the versions displayed in the story at the time that the story was exported.

The R visualization does not display, as we were warned would be the case,

but we can see any input controls included on the exported pages

and the geo map, which shows the active view from the story.

At the end of the document, based on the selected option,

is an appendix that shows the various models, dimensions, and filters that apply to each page.

We can also export as Google Slides.

Note that, to export to Google Slides, we need access to the Google Export connection.

A shared connection is available here.

As the administrator, we can share the connection with the story owner.

Once we receive notification that we have access to the connection,

we can try again.

We are prompted to log into Google

and grant SAP Analytics Cloud access to our account.

Once we are logged in, we can choose whether to create a new presentation

or add the content to an existing set of slides.

We can also choose where to save the exported slides in the file structure for our Google account,

define a file name for a new presentation,

choose to save the whole story or specify a range of pages, have the export happen in the background,

and scale measures so that they appear the same across all slides.

Again, we are warned about content that will not be exported.

When we navigate to the Google Slides site,

we can see our exported file.

Each exported page is rendered as a slide. As with the PDF, charts and tables render as displayed,

but the value driver tree was not exported,

nor was the geo map.
