Tug of war is probably right, Minji.

North Korean and U.S. officials are working together on the joint statement that their

leaders will issue next week.

And for the summit to be seen as a success, the statement needs to be as specific and

concrete as possible.

Our Park Hee-jun reports.

It's hoped North Korea and the U.S. can make further progress this week on their joint

statement for the upcoming Hanoi summit.

U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun and his North Korean counterpart

Kim Hyok-chol will meet in the Vietnamese capital in a bid to narrow their differences.

Biegun previously said the two sides already set the summit agenda during their working-level

talks in Pyeongyang earlier this month,... and that they would try to overcome any differences

of opinion at the follow-up negotiations.

Kim Jong-un and President Trump agreed in Singapore last June to establish new bilateral

relations and work toward establishing peace and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

Biegun and Kim Hyok-chol are to focus on specific ways to implement that promise.

At the core of that,... is believed to be the verified shutdown of the North's Yeongbyeon

nuclear complex,... and what the U.S. would offer in return.

The Yeongbyeon complex is a key facility that produces the essential materials for making

nuclear weapons-- plutonium and uranium.

Possible rewards from the U.S. could include an end-of-war declaration and partial sanctions

relief.

Watchers say, the more specific the statement, the more likely the summit will be a success.

As a result,... it's possible Pyeongyang and Washington may continue their working-level

talks right up to the day of the summit,... until they find a middle ground that satisfies

both sides.

ZOMBIE deer disease is 'spreading across US' and humans could be next - Daily News - Duration: 5:21.

A deadly and infectious condition know as 'zombie deer disease' is said to be spreading rapidly across the US - and humans could be next, an expert has warned

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is currently plaguing deer, elk and moose across 24 states and two Canadian provinces

The disease attacks the brain, spinal chord and other tissues in the creature, before ultimately resulting in death

It also causes dramatic weight-loss, loss of coordination and bouts of hyper-aggression

WHAT IS 'ZOMBIE DEER DISEASE'? As of January 2019, Chronic wasting disease (CWD), also known as 'zombie deer disease,' has been reported in 24 US states and two Canadian provinces

The infection attacks the brain, spinal cord, and other tissues in deer, elk, and moose, resulting in dramatic weight loss, lack of coordination, and even aggression before they eventually die

There is no evidence yet that it can infect humans, and no such cases have been reported, according to the CDC

But, a recent study found macaques could get the disease after consuming infected meat, sparking fears that a variant that also infects humans could eventually emerge

Officials are urging precaution to minimize any potential risks. This week, Michael Osterhold, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, issued a warning on possible effects on humans to state lawmakers

'It is probable that human cases of chronic wasting disease associated with consumption with contaminated meat will be documented in the years ahead,' Osterhold said

'It's possible the number of human cases will be substantial, and will not be isolated events

'Osterhold likening CWD to Mad Cow Disease which swept through the UK in the 1980s and 1990s, killing over 150 people

CWD was first spotted in the wild roughly 40 years ago, but has been seen in captive deer as far back as the late 1960s

There have been no documented cases of humans contracting CWD, but recent research shows that it can be transmitted to other animals - including primates

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the most likely method of contraction will be consuming infected meat - much like how Mad Cow Disease emerged

Currently, as many as 15,000 infected deer are eaten each year - a number that's expected to rise by 20 percent annually, according to Osterhold

Share this article Share When asked the chances of humans becoming infected with CWD, Osterhold compared it to a 'throw at the genetic roulette table

'So far CWD has primarily blossomed in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming, and it's been spreading further afield ever since

'Since 2000, the area known to be affected by CWD in free-ranging animals has increased to at least 24 states, including states in the Midwest, Southwest, and limited areas on the East Coast,' the CDC says

'It is possible that CWD may also occur in other states without strong animal surveillance systems, but that cases haven't been detected yet

'Once CWD is established in an area, the risk can remain for a long time in the environment

The affected areas are likely to continue to expand.'The disease earned its nickname from the bizarre symptoms it causes, including a vacant stare and exposed ribs as it causes the animal to physically waste away

'People have to understand the significance of this. We can't wait until we have the first cases coming,' Osterholm said

N. Korea, U.S. to work on details of their joint statement this week - Duration: 1:54.

Less than 10 days to go before the second North Korea-U.S. summit.

Pyeongyang and Washington are expected to continue working together on drafting a joint

statement until the very last minute, as in the actual date of the hotly anticipated event.

Park Hee-jun has our top story.

Biegun and Kim Hyok-chol are to focus on specific ways to implement that promise.

At the core of that,... is believed to be the verified shutdown of the North's Yeongbyeon

nuclear complex, which produces the essential materials for making nuclear weapons.

But the U.S. may demand additional denuclearization steps,... if North Korea is to get at least

partial sanctions relief.

"The Yeongbyeon facility was already on the agenda a decade ago.

And this is kind of obsolete now.

So the Trump administration may be asking for more, seeking for more from North Korea,...

in return for economic rewards and some degree of easing sanctions on North Korea."

Watchers say, the more specific the statement, the more likely the summit will be a success.

As a result,... it's possible Pyeongyang and Washington may continue their working-level

talks right up to the day of the summit,... until they find a middle ground that satisfies

These are the basic composition techniques

Most of the pictures on the internet would have definitely used rule of thirds

But, if you ask whether it's the ultimate rule

Its definitely a NO

Take paintings for example, it's from the paintings these techniques came to photography

Famous painters like Pablo Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci, Van Gogh...

For the first time in India, a camera phone for 1000 rupees

It has a 2 megapixel camera, now even you can be a photographer

Own this phone and everyone's attention will be on you

It is not just a phone it's your good fortune

The price of the phone with these many features

Is not 5000 not even 3000 it's only 1000 rupees

Call now 3 double 3 triple 3

Good but the composition could have been better

Okay, i will let "PABLO PICASSO" know about it

I watched that movie yesterday

[ISSUE TALK] N. Korea, U.S. to step up preparations this week ahead of Kim-Trump summit - Duration: 13:23.

For more on this,...

Dr. Bong Young-shik, from the Yonsei Institute for North Korean Studies joins us in the studio

today.

Welcome to the program.

Q1 We're just about a week away from the Kim-Trump summit.

Kim Chang-son, known as North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's de facto chief of staff, arrived

in Hanoi over the weekend.

Could we say that logistics discussions are now in full swing for the second summit slated

for February 27th and 28th?

Q2 A lot of attention has been on when and where

in Vietnam, the North Korean leader could be visiting.

Reuters reported that Kim will be arriving in Hanoi on February 25th -- two days prior

to his summit with President Trump.

It's likely he will be making a state visit,... becoming the first North Korean leader to

do so in 54 years.

What's the significance of this and what do you think will be on Kim's itinerary?

Q3 There have been reports that Kim Jong-un's close aide and the director of North Korea's

State Affairs Commission, Kim Chang-son, visited Samsung's smartphone factory in Vietnam on

Sunday.

Now it remains to be seen whether he will actually visit the tech giant's factory,...

but if the visit does take place, it could have great significance?

Q4 How do you think Kim Jong-un will be making his way to Vietnam?

For his first summit with President Trump in Singapore, he went by plane.

The North Korean delegation is believed to have looked around the northeastern Lang Son

province, which borders China -- possibly to assess the potential of using a special

train to reach Vietnam.

Which option would you say is most feasible?

Q5 Now it seems that both sides are starting to raise expectations ahead of the summit.

On Saturday, President Trump said that talks with North Korea

will be a success,... while

a North Korean propaganda website on Sunday said that Pyeongyang-Washington ties could

experience "a major breakthrough."

North Korea has been pretty much tight lipped about the summit until now -- how should we

be looking at this?

Q6 Along with the logistics checkup,... working level talks will

also take place this week.

Now if the talks in Pyeongyang earlier this week gave the two sides a chance to go over

all the cards on the table,... this time, they will have to put things down on paper.

How do you see the talks going from here?

Q7 What do you think will likely be on the table?

A key focus is expected to be dismantling of the North's Yeongbyeon nuclear complex

and

the verification of that dismantling, as it's

a key facility that produces both plutonium and uranium.

As for concessions on the U.S. part, Pyeongyang has been calling for sanctions relief,...

as well as the reopening of Gaeseong industrial complex, and the resumption of Mount Geumgangsan

tours.

What outcome do you expect?

Thank you

for your insights.

US vs China: 'INTENSE game of chicken could ignite next global conflict' warns academic - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 4:04.

US vs China: 'INTENSE game of chicken could ignite next global conflict' warns academic

THE "intensified game of chicken" between the US and China over the South China Sea

"could well ignite the next global conflict", a leading academic has warned.

Richard Heydarian, a Manila-based academic and author, has claimed that we are "on

course for the moment of truth" as the tensions continue to group in the ongoing row.

The US is reportedly trying to stand up to what it believes are attempts by Beijing to

limit freedom of navigation in the strategic waters where Chinese, Japanese and other Southeast

Asian navies operate.

Both countries remain at loggerheads over US allegations for China's militarisation

of the South China Sea by building military installations on artificial islands and reefs.

Writing for the South China Morning Post, Mr Heydarian issued a stark warning that the

two nations could be heading for war.

He said: "The South China Sea disputes are fast approaching a moment of truth as Washington

embraces a full-spectrum strategy to challenge China's expanding footprint in the area.

"In particular, the US Navy is stepping up its freedom of navigation operations (FONOPs)

and now openly challenging China's so-called grey zone activities in the disputed region.

"If left unchecked, the intensified game of chicken between the two superpowers could

very well ignite the next global conflict.

"So far, the FONOPs have been provocative enough to encourage further Chinese assertiveness,

but not robust enough to check the Asian powerhouse's expanding military footprint in the area."

Mr Heydarian said American leaders have "effectively accused China of 'preparing for World War

3 by militarising a vital global maritime artery'".

The rising military tension comes against the backdrop of an increasingly bitter trade

war between China and the US.

The two sides are trying to hammer out a deal ahead of a March 1 deadline when US tariffs

on $200billion (£155billion) worth of Chinese imports are scheduled to increase to 25 percent

from 10 percent.

Escalating tensions between the United States and China have cost both countries billions

of dollars and roiled global financial markets.

The two countries are also at odds over regional security, including Washington's overtures

to the self-ruled island of Taiwan, which China claims as its own.

Mr Heydarian continued: "Far from dissuading China, the Pentagon's expanding naval footprint

seems to have only emboldened China to fortify its claims in the area.

"As Yue Gang, a former People's Liberation Army colonel points out, China is unlikely

to recalibrate its strategy, since grey zone tactics still enjoy a geographical advantage

against the US, and China's significantly expanding paramilitary forces could hardly

be challenged by other neighbours in the region."

"The upshot is a strategic deadlock, which underscores the importance of institutionalising

conflict-prevention mechanisms.

At the very least, the two superpowers could more assiduously implement confidence-building

measures such as the 2014 Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea, which was designed to avoid

unintended clashes.

"Perhaps it is also high time for both sides to extend such mechanisms to their respective

white hull forces, including the Chinese paramilitary elements."

CÉSAR BRANDON NDJOCU – WINNER OF SPAIN'S GOT TALENT 2018 | ME x YOU x US - Duration: 8:24.

Thank you!

I don't think that people

have an idea of what I'm going to do

I just have to go ahead

After him was the infinite

while the eternal frightens more than one

This is my passion!

I don't agree

He is not the best of all tonight

He is the best of the entire edition

There're good moments and bad ones

and I think we gonna keep this one in mind

as one of the best

We are with the winner of

Spain's Got Talent 2018

Congrats!

Thank you!

''Though I do it with all

the love and passion of the world

I can't think that my kisses

express everything I'd like to tell you

with my mouth when we talk

without having to say a word.''

That's beautiful!

Yes

César you're a very talented poet

You've published your book: 'Las Almas de Brandon''

Introduce yourself in a few words

I am César Brandon Ndjocu

I come from Equatorial Guinea

It's been 7 years and a half that I live in Spain

I have a living out of poetry

I am a social educator by profession

and well I won Spain's Got Talent 2018

Writing is a dream since you were little?

Yes absolutely

Let me tell you a story my sister shared with me

when I was a young boy

I was in love with two girls at the same time

but neither of the two was interested in me

Then I went on holiday

to Barcelona with my sister

she told me what I said back in time

that I wanted to write a book

but no roses for neither of the two

She looked at me surprised

like what's happening to him

''you're only 9 years old!''

For some reasons my years as a teenager

were quite eventful

I moved away a little from this dream

to move towards something professional

as a job to do

but my dream to be a writer came back

while I was in university

because I had new emotions to share

new experiences there

other meetings, love, politics, everything

And by participating in literary contests

organized by the university

I realized that I still had this thing in me

so I decided to give me the opportunity

to see if it could work

I gradually posted poems on my Instagram

and noticed people liked them

I thought it was time to make this dream

since childhood come true

and here we are

I love this story

Thank you!

And why poetry?

Poetry in a way is born in me

while I had to write a narrative text

I started to read with a melody

and figured out that there were rhymes and musicality

that could look like poetry

although it's actually closer to the

American Spoken Word

because rhymes don't have a specific structure

So I thought ''this is pretty''

And the idea to condense emotions or ideas en verses

pleased me so I decided to dedicate myself to poetry

Youth today thinks that

poetry is a little complex

they want something more linear

not necessarily text with rhymes

but rather a story to tell

Yes that's right, a story

And do you think that the success

current poetry has is due to a throwback

to what's authentic as how young people are looking

for real things close to them

on which they can rely on?

Yes exactly!

For me the interest in poetry is not new

in fact there has always been a form of introversion

and people who read poetry

would rather do it at home

but that seems to change

notably thanks to social media

It's more and more usual

poetry has a nicer image now

I don't think poetry is ''dead''

it has simply been withdrawn

for a long time

Now with the arrival of new poets

who are influenced by their origins and own style

it fosters more people to read poetry

to show they read it

even though there is still some shame

to say I read poetry and I like it

The authenticity and emotion that you create

in your poems that's what your readers like

but also your interactions with them

are filled with emotion and so fulfilling

both personally and professionally

So would you say that now

this has become essential to you?

The number of people who write me is impressive

it pains me not to be able to read everyone

nor give an answer to all of them

They send me messages of support

it's that they make me realize

what I've achieved

because I remain quite distant in the face

of what is happening to me

So the concrete perspective that give social media

has been a hurdle for me

but by now I think that it's necessary

to have contact with people who read me

They see that I'm real

and I see that they also are

because book sales references

they are just numbers

While a signature given face-to-face to the person

that is so unbelievable!

Do your poems tell lived experiences or

are they inspired by other people's stories?

Both!

All my stories have in common a true basis

the most beautiful things

I give them a contrasted note

and sad things I make them more joyful

it's a real story that happened

''I'll see how it goes''

that's what you thought

when you run for Got Talent?

Totally

It occurred at times that I told myself

''you gonna win''

and though that happened

the story is a little more dichotomous and bipolar

in the sense that I thought

it could have happened another way

It was the ''hunger'' that I still have and the desire

and the vigor that made me sign up

However there was a moment when I didn't want to

and thought to stop everything

I didn't want that my career as a writer

starts through television

but of course I was eager to participate

and that brings us here

And you were not afraid?

Sure I was, a lot

To be honest 2016

has been really difficult for me

I had to go back to Guinea

I couldn't afford my studies here

so I went back there to work

And my big brother is my personal motivator

the best brother ever

I confide in him

I told him what motivated me

and to others in the group

at the workshops we attended

There was a question during the last meeting:

where we'd vision ourselves in 3 years?

I answered that I wanted to publish my book

within a year

I had no idea I would participate

to a TV show nor any of that

It's the rage that drives me, the passion & desire to live

to be able to live from what interests you

get here with the urge and determination

to make it happen

All my life is like a special mission

participating in a television programme

to make the career that I studied

I come from a country that is a bit ''complicated''

whose politics is different from here

My goal is to go back to my country

and achieve there what I've done here

I'd like to build a college of art or other equivalent

for the moment I have not a clear idea in mind

but I know I want to work

with and for children

And help the future generation

this is the ultimate mission

this is the ultimate mission

Do you think that the world of literature

is very hard or that an individual

has to set apart?

It's very hard!

nowadays it's very hard

Before I published my book

I asked to all publishers

to try and see

absolutely everywhere

Between the ones who answer

and others who say no

You need a contact within

or a good exposure outside of the network

that's something anyone can have

thanks to social media

or to get out of a TV program like me

where it takes a highlight

talent must be recognized

to come out winner

Personally now that I have a blink inside

I notice that there are a lot of biases

towards this world like

they are big companies

nothing matters to them but to make money

And I had the chance to work with

the most humble and genuine group

that I could meet

They treat me as a son

like a brother between them

Are you going to write more in English?

Yes, actually yes

because I think in English

I don't know why

and then I have to translate in Castilian

with structure and words to adapt

to find the right rhymes

I'd be glad to write in English

and even publish

Why not in French one day?

also yes!

You speak French

yes absolutely I'd love to

that'd be awesome!

I switch to French for the last part

okay

to convey my message as well

alright

I'd like to thank you

thank you to you

You're authentic, humble and natural

that attention you give to others

it's wonderful

So thank you for everything!

Thank you very much!

Really it was great

yes completely

My Grandma used to give us Bleaching Cream | More Than My Makeup - Duration: 6:21.

I didn't really start using makeup until I was maybe 17, 18.

My mum never really used makeup so I didn't really know what goes where, what's used

for what.

And then when I did start getting into it I still kind of felt bad about it.

I grew up with my brother and we were really close, and I felt like using it would make

me too girly or something around him.

I mean, when I started using it, when I was eighteen or seventeen , I would make it really subtle

and I'd be like, "oh I don't like makeup or whatever".

But yeah, I still don't really wear it that much anyway.

I'm not wearing anything today, but that's just more of a practical thing.

It's never come up in my mind not not be able to go outside without makeup.

Because that's just what I'm doing.

[Lena] You've lived in a couple of countries.

Do you think the way beauty is perceived in places differs?

[Mariam] I definitely think so.

Especially with Pakistan and being in Ireland right now.

It sounds weird, but my grandma used to give us bleaching cream – face whitening cream

which had bleach in it – because being more fair over there is seen as more beautiful.

And then my dad would say put on sunscreen before you go outside, so that you don't

end up looking really dark, because then no one is going to want to marry you.

And then when you come here people are getting fake tans and stuff.

It's very different.

People always want what they can't have.

In the Middle East, in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi, I honestly don't really know, because everyone

was dressed in burkas and the majority of women over there were pretty conservative

and modest, so I don't really know what that was like.

But I'm pretty sure that's also very different!

[Lena] How do you decide what to adopt, or feel like you should?

[Mariam] I moved here when I was twelve, and I was still wearing my hijab until I was seventeen,

and I only stopped doing that because I was like, you know what, I don't actually believe

in this.

But when I came over here, I still had my unibrow as well, so it was a big change!

The school I went to wasn't the nicest school, it was a pretty rough school, and people weren't

very nice to me at the start.

It took a lot of adjusting.

I feel like I still don't really know what kind of beauty standards I want to aspire

to.

I'm still kind of confused where I fit in.

Because sometimes I hang out with people from Pakistan and I'm like, ah I'm too Irish

for you guys, and then I'm with my Irish friends and they're like ah, you're too

foreign for us!

So it's still a work in progress.

It's like wearing completely different traditional clothes at home, to like look pretty for a

party, and if I wore that out to something over here with my Irish friends, they'd

just be like "what the fuck are you wearing".

[Lena] It's like a double life!

[Mariam] It really is a double life honestly.

It's really weird.

[Lena] Have you ever had any comments or pressure to change the way that you look, or to fit

in with a certain group?

[Mariam] Yeah definitely.

My family goes to the mosque a lot.

So if I ever go to pick up my little sister there and I'm dressed like this I get some

weird looks from people, especially because I'm not wearing a headscarf and I'm like

a grown person.

They're like, lol, what is she doing, why is she here, why does she look like that.

Or I feel really uncomfortable wearing traditional clothes and going out into the city because

people would also give me weird looks.

[Lena] How do you deal with it?

[Mariam] It does cause me a lot of stress and anxiety.

I don't really deal with it to be honest.

That's why I'm such an anxious person.

I mean, that's the only honest answer really.

It's like an every day thing really.

I just wish that people wouldn't judge what you're saying or how you're acting based

on how you're dressed.

I don't know.

Especially in the communities I move around in.

Especially in the mosque.

Like my moms friends, they wouldn't give me any respect or credibility because I'm

dressed like this, and they'd be like, "well, she doesn't know what she's talking about,

she's just some outsider."

I really wish they didn't do that.

I tried to convince my Mum that they don't think I'm a legit person because of how

I dress, and she said, "no, no, they're just scared of you".

I think that makes no sense.

This is going to sound weird – but when I go out of the house, I often forget that

I'm darker than most people in Dublin.

I always think, "ah yeah, I basically look white".

And then something will happen to me, and I'll think, "oh, shit, I'm not, that's

why".

Someone will say something or ask me something weird.

And I'll be like, oh.

I forgot.

[Lena] What kind of things do people say?

[Mariam] It's never been anything super offensive or anything like that, but it's

often like, when I meet someone for the first time, they're like "oh, where are you

from," and If say Dublin, and they're Irish, they'll say "really?

You're from Dublin?

You don't look like it."

There's a very set idea of what an Irish person looks like, which is kind of…

I feel like I need to justify myself to them.

I'm like, "I know all your slang words!

I know all your jokes!"

It's mainly stuff like that.

People are always really confused.

They say, 'oh, you're not really Irish, where are you really from?'.

That sort of thing.

I often forget about it.

That's not what's in my head all the time.

I'm not constantly thinking about the color of my skin.

but then people will be staring at me, or someone will say something, and I'll just

think, "oh, I completely forgot that was a thing".
