Expectations for N. Korea-U.S. summit should be realistic : Joel Wit - Duration: 0:49.

A former American diplomat says he thinks the key to success in the upcoming summit

with North Korea is for everyone to have realistic expectations..., and for futher negotiations

to continue right afterwards.

Speaking at forum at the National Assembly on Tuesday,...

Joel Wit, the founder of 38 North, said... the denuclearization of North Korea will be

a long, difficult process and he called for a phase-by-phase procedure.

He said...

Washington and Seoul should be able to accept that it will take North Korea a long time

to give up its most threatening missiles.... because the regime considers them part of

its security.

Given that,...

Wit called on the two sides to hold immediate discussions once they reach a deal... so that

they don't repeat the mistakes that caused progress to slow down after the Singapore

summit.

Going Postal Series U.S. vs. Korce Albania - Part 2 - Duration: 10:56.

hi and welcome to my journey recently I moved 6,500 miles away from Las Vegas

Nevada where I resided for over 60 years and the process sold everything that

could sell gave away a lot of things packed three suitcases and moved to a

small city in Europe called korce Albania if you're considering the move

to a distant land or thinking about retirement outside America I most

definitely have information worth reviewing. Additionally there's a most

amusing charming side to this little country as well. Prior to moving along in

this journey would you mind subscribing in hitting

the notification and thank you. Sincerely the ExPat. The other day I put out some video

about this really long boring subject postal services for an American ExPat

and when I got home I started editing the footage and I right away noticed

that this just wasn't going to work the audio was horrible the restaurant

was full of people. We'll take a look at number one postal services they're not

always created equal okay and one type of form that you're

going to need is called the 3575 we'll take a look at why you need to have that

another the third topic we'll talk about is what's the problem with the po box. I

mean generally it's a problem even when you're living in the United States a lot

of sellers or a lot of people will not send you things to a p.o box and when

you're living abroad additionally what's wrong with it there

and the fourth topic is another form that's entitled the 1083 third-party

authorization form well take a look at that and number five mailbox forwarding

services what are they how they are going to help you

in the case of you are moving abroad if you think the best option might be to

leave your mail for chance thinking maybe it'll only take a couple of extra

weeks after I arrived in Albania I began to wonder why I hadn't received any

packages I knew letters would be coming to me I

made a change of address directly with the government different agencies not

the bank of Wells Fargo at this time anyways would not allow me to put an

address on my personal checking account so the change of address was my actual

new address where I was moving I already had it so that wasn't the problem I had

it ahead of time but I for a month I just wasn't getting

any mail and I really hadn't given this a lot of thought before I moved it

wasn't like at the top you know of my list of to do's and thinking four months

later a letter finally showed up from America I had been checking I wasn't

getting anything else starting to get a little bit nervous about it because I

was expecting a couple of things this was going to be a problem I really

didn't know nor did I really overly concern myself with the whole process as

I started to say but I can tell you this postal services are not all created

equal Sam in a minute Joel a pound of what is

it quickly can I get a 5 cent stamp a pound of stamps no just keep your big

mouth shut no not you mrs. Quigley you wanted 5

cents like a punch in the nose no not you

missus quick oh she hung up four months later a letter finally

showed up from America I've been checking but I wasn't getting anything

and I was starting to get a little bit nervous about this and I really knew

that this was going to be a problem my thinking in America was maybe two three

weeks for postal services but I really didn't know I didn't overly concern

myself about it but I'm here to say something about postal services they're

not all created equal they're different maybe I can get Sarah Sarah would you

get mrs. Quigley back for me good thing you wasn't in charge of the Pony Express

or Garcia never would have got that message many small cities just haven't

progressed past this point in some countries the postal service in the city

I moved to didn't really know me so it was like this letter from America it's

probably trashed but really unsure so let's just go ahead and file it under s

for stack there was an auxilary pile I saw it the woman who delivers mail in

our city she's really a very sweet person but she does so on a bicycle they

only have one letter carrier for city of 75,000 people they just bring a piece of

paper to your home put it in the door you got a package you got something

going on here so you know it's so we even appreciate having something like

that now this lady has our telephone number so she can pick up a phone what

she does and calls us and says hey I'd like you to come over and pick up a

package or a letter or whatever but I'd like you to do so

in the morning I'm sorry I'm an American I don't wake up at nine o'clock in the

morning she understands that so it's no problem we work that out

my very first suggestion is after having you relocate this may sound rather

bizarre my very first suggestion is after you relocate and this may sound

bizarre but I tell you I think it would be helpful depending on the size of your

city you're moving to go and introduce yourself bring them a little something

and go to introduce yourself let them know I'm an American and I get mail this

often I get packages this often every once in a while but I'm the guy this is

my name and I'm glad to meet you but I just like to let you know that I am

living in your city packages though a little bit different animal and we'll

talk about that extensively in our next video oftentimes in America the US

postal services are criticized heavily for various reasons but you may soon

realize just how inaccurate that statement is until you live in another

country every day or you know every around six days of Las Vegas that's what

we had for mail the letter carriers marked up and down the streets of Las

Vegas and he's horrible temperatures it doesn't matter the old saying rain or

snow okay the mail goes on and in Las Vegas when temperatures were reaching

like this forty nine Celsius I got it 139 in the summer

I've seen I lived there for 60 years I'm very happy that I don't live there

anymore okay the postal service workers they are a treasure but most people

think that it's just the normal kind of routines that you would see in all parts

of the world that's just not true I think they care about how the work is

carried out in Albania it's just not what we as Americans are used to so not

all postal services are the same you can't compare America with postal

services in other countries it just can't be done

stealing stamps is a federal offense on when the postmaster hammering on the

phone okay you got your stamp now clear out hello mr. Quigley

yeah I'm sorry we were cut off and now what was it you wanted I can't sell this

stamp it's pre licked

hello mrs. Quigley hello she hung up again I don't blame her you

don't run your story any better and you run your post office you run your post

office worse than anyone I've ever seen seen how I moved through this experience

can easily share with you my experience and try having a little fun along the

way about doing so as an ex I honestly didn't thoroughly think this process

through enough before deciding to move out of the US I thank you for joining me

today please would you mind subscribing I appreciate it

have yourself a good day

you

New for 2019 US Amateur Match Play Championships - Duration: 1:35.

2018 was huge success for the U.S. amateur and match play

championships, and we're excited to bring them

back for 2019.

Here are some changes that we've got for this year's event.

Probably our biggest change this year is that

players who win their local qualifying bracket

but don't win their state qualifying bracket

can still have a chance to enter the national bracket.

They're going to come to Emporia and participate

in a single stroke play event, on Thursday, June 20th.

And if 50 people qualify for the national tournament

through state brackets, then we'll have 14 spots

available for those local bracket winners

who will come out of the single stroke play event.

Once you qualify you enter the national bracket

starting on Friday, June 21st.

In addition to the B-tier that we have scheduled

for Saturday, we also have flex start C-tiers

for Friday and Sunday this year.

So let's say you come out and you don't have your

best event, you lose in your first round.

You still have the opportunity to play

four sanctioned rounds throughout the weekend,

so you can still have a great disc golf experience

here in Emporia.

Also new for 2019, last year's national bracket

qualifiers received $500 when they got to Emporia.

This year's national bracket qualifiers

will receive $1,000 of in-store credit

to the Dynamic Discs retail store.

Applications to run a local singles qualifying bracket

are being accepted now.

And you can go to discgolfmatchplay.com

to get all the details.

We absolutely can't wait to see who's going to

be crowned the U.S. amateur match play champion

and receive 18 veteran baskets and free discs for life.

N. Korea, U.S. highly likely to include liaison office in summit declaration: expert - Duration: 2:43.

North Korea and the U.S. are reportedly discussing exchanging liaison officers -- a move that

could contribute significantly to ending their hostile relations.

Oh Jung-hee tells us more on the possibility of this being included in the next summit

agreement... and how other U.S. corresponding measures are coming along.

Citing two sources familiar with the developments, CNN reported on Monday that North Korea and

the U.S. are discussing exchanging liaison officers.

If the plan were to move forward, the report says, Washington would send several liaison

officers to set up office in North Korea... and a senior diplomat who speaks Korean would

be leading the delegation.

The U.S. State Department has declined to comment on the report, but a South Korean

expert says it's highly likely that the liaison office issue will be covered at the upcoming

summit.

At their previous summit in Singapore last year, Pyeongyang and Washington agreed to

establish new relations and build a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.

"If Kim Jong-un declines the offer from Washington for establishing liaison offices in both countries,

then it will greatly weaken the claims made by both Korean governments that Kim Jong-un

has been proven unequivocally and unquestionably determined to leading his country in totally

new direction.

If Kim Jong-un is not ready to take this step, then how can the leadership be trusted?"

North Korea and the U.S. setting up liaison offices has been mentioned by South Korea's

President Moon Jae-in and Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-hwa as one of the actions the U.S.

could take in return for the North's denuclearization steps.

Other possible U.S. corresponding measures they've suggested are providing humanitarian

assistance to North Korea and declaring a formal end to the Korean War.

Washington is trying to lower its bar on providing humanitarian aid to Pyeongyang, currently

reviewing its policy on sanctions waivers and travel exemptions.

Formally ending the Korean War through the upcoming summit seems difficult as there's

been not enough communication on that with South Korea and China.

Instead of that, Washington has reportedly suggested to North Korea... adopting a non-aggression

pact, but we can't know for sure what Washington will offer Pyeongyang until the results of

the summit are out.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

1987 P US Dime Moving P Mint LOOK FOR THESE IN YOUR CHANGE - Duration: 8:03.

Hello all you coin aficionados out there and Welcome to the DC Coin World International Coin Channel

Today we're going to look into the mystery of the 1987 Philadelphia Mint Mark US Dime

We have a bunch of these dimes here in they are set up

in a kind of a weird fashion with a couple different colored backgrounds below

I'll tell you why we're doing that in a second as we go through them

but first let's take a good look at the 1987 United States dime

we can see it says right on the top that says "Liberty" with Franklin Roosevelt facing to the left

"In God We Trust" under his chin right here we have a J and an S and that's for John Sinnock

who was the the engraver of these dimes. there's a 1987 and there is a P right here

the P is for the Philadelphia Mint and we can see that this this one has the P on it

The P is centered exactly over the 7 so one line of the P comes down to

the front of the 7 the other end of the P comes down to the back of the 7

This is the regular P mint mark of the 1987 P

you see this one's tilted a little bit but it's not it's only because of the camera so if I tilt it bsck it is straight above the 7

You can see that these are all straight over the top of the 7

But if we look over here however and we blow this one up

we'll see that the P on this one is about halfway between the 8 and 7

see how it kind of moved over a little bit the P here

this is a pretty bad shape coin in the sense that it got kind of beat and scraped but see how the P is way over

there to the left almost between the two and then if we go back to this one it's

over there and one of the ways we can take a good look at it to just take one

of these put it right over the top we see the P here

straight over the top of the 7 the P here in between the 7 any 8 and

that's not as far as it goes because if we go over even a little further we see

this one's exactly between the 8 and the 7 so if we look at this mint mark

here P which is straight over the top where it's supposed to be and then this

one over here which is like halfway between we're going hey wait a second

what's going on with the peas at the Philadelphia Mint and we can if we look

at these to see how clearly that's right over the top and that's in the middle

well some people say well maybe that's a D for the Denver mint. I should say that I have not seen any

D's that have been offset like that and I do have a D here and this is how the D

should look and this is not a D here this is a misshapen P

some of this might be post mint damage (PMD) from the misshapen part

but PMD certainly didn't move the P mint mark over between the 8 and 7

I looked this up online and it turns out to just quite a few of these around in fact if you look on eBay at

the 1987 you'll see that it moves from here to here in the middle to here way

over in the middle and then it also does something else that's interesting so

this is a regular one again it starts to tilt on some of them so see how this P

actually starts going to the left a little bit it actually tilts in this one

tilts way to the left so it's at the right point on the 7 but it

tilts so instead of going straight up and down see that tilt here so let's

move this middle one out of the way and you can see it very clearly on this one

this one's going straight up and down this one kind of going off to the side

it quite an angle there too in fact that's not as far as that angle goes it

can even go further over and I'll show you on these ones so these ones are

tilted also so see how especially this one see how

much of a tilt is on there it's way up high off the top of the P see there's a

lot more space between that P and this P it's either a little bit of space there

and a huge amount of space there see how this one tips over this one tips over

and so we get this kind of weird issue with these Philadelphia mint marks and

it's both to look like this this one it's a little further up and it's tilted

this one it's a little closer and it's tilted so we have essentially we have

the tilt like this one we have the regular oh the other tilt like this one

so that that was just a different kind of tilt see how that's way off we have

the regular which I'll bring in over here we have the one who it's where it's

centered almost between the 8 and the 7 and then we have this really weird

one where it actually is centered but it looks more like a D than a P so when we

started looking for the Philadelphia mint mark from 1987 we get all kinds of

different variations I should say that out of about fifty I looked at, thirty something were

exactly like this and then we started getting some tilted some in the center

and then some way over like this tilted the other way and I've seen someone

lined it with a piece actually over the top of this eight this eight and so I

don't know what they did I looked it up online and I said is there anybody that

kind of knows what happened with these and one of the Numista websites there

was a guy named ESSOR PROF who said that all the dies for these coins are made at the

Philadelphia Mint and then after the dies are made they hand stamp on the mint mark

And so he said he assumes that when they stamped the mint mark on

have to do it on a number of different dyes in somebody probably in 1987

He was talking about 1988 also, somebody when they stamped the mint mark on the

dies before they used them they stamped them individually by hand with a rod and

that rod was not held steadily by the man who was hand stamping the P

onto the coin die and so a bunch of these different variations came about from

that hand stamping alright well that's all we have today from a DC Coin World International Coin Channel

Look for some 1987 dimes and see if you can find them

also with these different variations we also started seeing this when we will

looked in the 1988 dimes and so look for some of them also because the 1988 dimes

have some of the same variations as the 1987 dime some of the centering issues some of

the tilting issues and some of the most interesting mint marks that I've ever

seen on US coins alright have a great day from the DC Coin World International Coin Channel

19.02.2019: US and China ready for new round of talks (USDX, USD/JPY, AUD/USD) - Duration: 1:46.

During the American trading session the US dollar managed to gain ground, but its rise

is still limited.

On Monday the US dollar index settled at 96.90.

Yesterday the American market was closed due to celebration of Presidents' Day, so the

greenback lacked upward momentum.

Traders prefer to buy safe-haven currencies, so the USD/JPY was trading sideways during

the Asian session.

The pair held steady near 110.60.

Meanwhile, political factors absorb traders' attention.

Beijing and Washington are close to striking a trade deal.

Today a new round of talks between the United States and China starts.

However, traders are less optimistic about risky assets.

That is why the Australian dollar declined during the Asian-Pacific trading session.

The AUD/USD pair settled near the level of 0.7120.

The latest minutes of the RBA monetary policy meeting put the aussie under pressure.

The bank's officials expressed concerns about some of the economic sectors.

It was a sign that the interest rate is likely to be reduced in the nearest future.

Analysts anticipate that the current market situation will remain unchanged.

Market participants do not hurry to make their trading choices, waiting for the outcome of

the US-China talks.

Meanwhile in Europe, the United Kingdom is going to release the average earnings and

unemployment data.

What's Next For Us With Dreams PS4? - Duration: 4:20.

Hey, LittleBigHeroes!

In today's Dreams video I wanted to quickly go over what you can expect from the channel,

content wise, in regards to Dreams.

But first I wanted to give a massive thank you to all of our new heroes.

We've gained so much support over the past few months and it's been fantastic to share

and discuss each other's excitement for Dreams.

So thanks again, and here's to the future of Dreams.

Before the Dreams beta arrived we were making two videos per week, mostly discussing various

topics surrounding the game.

But ever since the beta arrived, and even beyond that, we've been mainly focused on

beta footage and giving our brief thoughts on each of them.

There's been so much beta content to get through, I still have a good amount to share but I

feel like the channel could be offering a lot more in terms of variety.

I enjoy making the beta footage videos as it's a great way to showcase a vast amount

of content from some very talented creators, but it's also nice to show everything that

Dreams is capable of so far in order to hopefully attract new people to the game.

The problem with putting out lots of footage is that every Dreams channel seems to be doing

it, and although we try to add some commentary on just about every video, at the end of the

day if you've already seen a particular level a few times before then it's perhaps not as

interesting to watch again.

Of course it's still a vital component of the channel going forward, we love showcasing

everything you guys make and this is a Dreams channel so you'd expect to see this type of

content as standard.

But what I want to do is add some of those discussion and opinion videos I spoke about

before, the ones we used to do before the beta arrived.

This way there's more variety for you to choose from and it offers a chance to create some

unique videos that you can't find on various other channels.

Another thing you can expect is development updates on our very own Dreams projects.

I was travelling during the beta so I didn't have enough time to properly create something,

it's one of the main reasons why I don't have any creation videos at the moment.

Instead I was playing all of your wonderful levels but I'll be able to do both things

once the full game arrives.

I don't want people to get the impression that this is only going to be a footage collection

of other people's work.

Sure, we want to create an amazing hub to hype up and display your incredible creations

but we also want to dabble in it ourselves.

Since I haven't started on the physical creation of the projects within Dreams yet, instead

I will be talking about the planning of these projects for now, until I can show you in-game

progress.

We'll also be doing this with LittleBigPlanet as there's at least one final project on that

game which I want to highlight as well.

The mysterious February the 20th announcement date is still at the front of our minds, we

can only hope that it's a release date and that it's reasonable close.

We have all waited far too long for Dreams, it's about time we can finally unleash its

potential.

It would also make planning content much easier in terms of a time-frame, as the content we

will be producing will be on another level from what you are seeing today.

There is so much work to be done, ideas to fulfil, and all of these are only possible

with the full Dreams release.

We are really excited about the future, we want to create an amazing Dreams channel for

you, and the fact that you're with us from the very start means everything to us.

So, to recap.

Every week you can expect two unique videos discussing or giving an opinion on a particular

Dreams topic.

There will be at least one development update regarding a Dreams and or LittleBigPlanet

project in the works.

And of course we will continue to put out beta footage with our thoughts and commentary

almost daily.

I say almost daily because as you've probably noticed we haven;t been uploading on the weekend.

Instead we have been making one or two daily videos through Monday to Friday.

This may change once the full game is released, in-fact, a lot of things will probably change

with the full release but we can discuss those nearer the time and hopefully this upcoming

announcement can shed some light on that which we'll also be covering with another video

on Wednesday the 20th.

Thanks for watching today's Dreams video, we hope you're as excited as us about the

future of Dreams and if you'd like to join us on our journey, subscribe to become a LittleBigHero

and click the notification bell so you're always kept updated on the latest Dreams content.

See you in the next Dreams video.

N. Korea-U.S. summit: how Kim and Trump came from Singapore to Vietnam - Duration: 2:13.

It's only been about eight months since Kim Jong-un and President Trump first met last

year in Singapore.

Our Kan Hyeong-woo takes a look at some of the ups and downs in their countries' relations

since then.

On June 12, 2018,... the world witnessed what many had once considered impossible - a face-to-face

meeting between a North Korean leader and a sitting U.S. President.

At the historic summit in Singapore, Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump agreed to establish new relations

for peace and prosperity.

Pyeongyang reaffirmed its commitment to work toward complete denuclearization in exchange

for security guarantees from the U.S.

The two leaders also agreed to the repatriation of the remains of American soldiers killed

during the Korean War.

Following the Singapore summit, President Trump announced the U.S. would suspend joint

military drills with South Korea,... which have been frequently criticized by the North.

As a result, large-scale exercises have been put on ice,... while small drills continue.

Pyeongyang responded by sending back 55 cases believed to contain the remains of U.S. troops

killed during the Korean War.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has made two official trips to Pyeongyang since the

Singapore summit.

Pompeo's first visit last July was largely viewed as a failure as North Korea condemned

the U.S. delegation for making "gangster-like" demands of the regime's denuclearization.

But Pompeo's next trip in October was better than the first,... indicating some progress

was being made.

After the remainder of 2018 did not see concrete steps taken towards the North's complete denuclearization,...

President Trump met in January with North Korean officials at the White House.

And as Trump announced during his State of the Union address on February 6th that there

would be a second North Korea-U.S. summit,... negotiators from the North and the U.S. met

in Pyeongyang to discuss the summit agenda and logistical details.

Kim and Trump are scheduled to meet for the second time from February 27th to 28th in

Hanoi to further discuss North Korea's denuclearization in exchange for corresponding measures from

the U.S. Kan Hyeong-woo, Arirang News.

CNN reports North Korea and the US are seriously considering a possible

exchange of liaison officers in an incremental step towards building formal

diplomatic relations according to the sources several US liaison officers

could be sent to set up office in North Korea led by a senior foreign service

officer who speaks Korean while in his preliminary phase the talks could mark a

significant step in negotiations between North Korea and the u.s. a similar

agreement was reached in 1994 with an agreed framework leading to extensive

discussions over exchanging liaison officers beginning with up to seven

officers each however around the year later North Korea scrapped a plan after

a u.s. helicopter was shot down when it crossed over the demilitarized zone

while the exchange could improve ties between the two sides watchers in the US

are cautious saying the regime has yet to show a strong willingness to

denuclearize while North Korea has halted its nuclear tests and sharply

toned down its rhetoric president Trump's Director of National

Intelligence said last month that North Korea is unlikely to completely give up

its nuclear weapons and production capability while the US State Department

declined to comment on the CNN report if confirmed it would be a significant

[ISSUE TALK] Eyes on summit agenda with N. Korea-U.S. summit only week away - Duration: 13:16.

and for more dr. Koo Myung Hyun and research fellow from the asan Institute

for Policy Studies joins us in the studio today welcome to the program

my pleasure so there's just about a week left before the Kim Trump summit and

eyes are on how the joint statement will shape up and what sort of deals it will

contain now as we heard in the previous report CNN reported that the two sides

are seriously considering exchanging liaison officers how far do you think

the negotiations have taken place based on this report and would this be a first

step to establishing formal diplomatic ties between the two well oftentimes

establishing relations office I suffer step towards a normalization of

relations with in between United States and another country and I think that

took two countries here are taking the formal steps towards normalization but

we had to take into account the fact that so there's a little bit of a

mismatch between the negotiation position between North Korea and the

United States from what we have heard so far from the information that we have

gathered North Korea what we really want from the United States is economic

concessions essentially sanctions relief so they pull assign law priority when it

comes to the political symbols such as license office on the other hand the

United States skeptical about the possibility of a complete localization

of North Korea and as a venerable decision to upgrade the relations with

North Korea very quickly so instead of offering a sanctions relief United

States is putting on the table for the possibility of upgrading down I mean

start taking the prostitutes normalization by offering to establish

relations office in North Korea so this is actually indicates to me that the two

countries upstairs have some gap in their positions towards denuclearization

and the United States might want to offer this to North Korea but we don't

know yet whether North Korea will take it yeah so it seemed more symbolic

now under the 1994 agreed framework better known as the Geneva agreement

based on where it was signed North Korea and the u.s. had a group there to open

liaison offices that would later develop into

ambassadorial level which the plan fell through do you think the second summit

will be an opportune moment to get these talks or get these plans going again

clearly the establishment of liaison offices has become a form of leverage or

Nakano offer to speed up the democratization negotiations so it's

clear that the US side is making this query serious offered on to North Korea

so should North Korea take the I mean given the background of slow progress

not in acquisition a process I'll say that US is going to propose having a

small license of his system or large distance office depending I mean in a

way the size of the license office to be established in Pyongyang could be

indicative of how successful the negotiations are going to be between the

two countries if the US are going to establish a big listen surface with

multiple staffers that will indicate that the United States is a very

optimistic about the eventual increases in North Korea are going to use the

resource office as the basis to accreditor to an ambassador ambassador

see down the road but then if US offers a small distance surface such as the one

that they could put in a suicide office along with within the Swedish embassy

compound also in having offered the consular service to American citizens in

North Korea then that would indicate the u.s. still really skeptical about the

successful negotiation to the organization so I think obviously

remains to be seen so shifting gears to the summit itself

we still don't know where the summit venue will be held or at which hotels

leaders will be staying now a high possibility for the summit venue is the

Vietnam National Convention Center where the 2010 ASEAN summit was held and

another option that's being speculated is the Hanoi Opera House which was built

during the French colonial era what significance do these two venues have

well there's not really political significance attached these venues per

se but it's all about the location and a distance between the hotel and the

conference venue for respective leaders the convention center nice apparently

lies closer to the hotel the present room is going to stay in an away and

opera house stays actually that is the opposite case Opera House actually is a

closer to the hotel that Kim jong-un is expected to stay so I think that both

sides are little bit arguing over no protocol issues I think are they want

our respective leaders to I mean their own respective leaders to stay closer to

the conference venue which makes the whole thing much simpler for both of

them so something will still have to wait for North Korean leader Kim

jong-un's de-facto chief of staff kim ki-chun son is stepping up preparations

in Vietnam there's reports that he's viewing some possible sites that Kim can

visit so as he is a key official in charge of protocol a lot of attention is

on where he visits because Kim jong-un could actually potentially visit these

sites and instead of flying straight to Hanoi the official went via Kong Jo and

while in Hanoi he also visit that the Vietnamese border with China

now given that Kim Jong and Kim jong-un's father Kim jong-il also made a

visit to Punisher back in 2006 do you think there would be a potential visit

by Kim jong-un himself given that the city is known for reform and economic

development well clearly Kim jong-un is on a drive to give up this perception

that the North Korea's contain back on a major economy form an opening so in that

sense the visiting Guangzhou is very symbolic step and simply location to

conduct the kind of message to the rest of the world but it doesn't mean that

just because his chief of staff mr. Alonso and the volar between them

and China that Kim jong-un is also going to take that route on the way to Hanoi

it's just one of the many options that probably North Korea is entertaining at

the moment so a lot of things remain under the wraps a lot of speculation

what do you think is the likeliness of Kim jong-un traveling to Vietnam through

a land route well I think that little bit I mean I really be surprised if kim

giman is going to take the land route from North Korea all the way down to

Vietnam apparently to come to take multiple days at least three days and

we're talking about criss crossing a huge country like China North and South

touch country represent a enormous amount of disruption to the economy

activities in the in China the second largest economy in the world so I don't

forget you'd likely for him to take the land route but he might actually use

part of the trade using train so that's a possibility but I wouldn't expect him

German to make the whole trip to Vietnam by train so while there are a

speculation about a small deal or a big deal US President Donald Trump will

likely face scrutiny when he gets back home after the summit should the summit

feel to bring about substantial progress towards North Korea's denuclearization

or depending on what sorts of concessions he makes to Pyongyang but if

he is able to make convincing progress it could strengthen his footing in the

US at a time when he faces a lot of domestic issues with that in mind do you

think it will be all efforts to make a breakthrough in this summit I think

that's what that's an option 4% romper out on the other hand it's also an

option for him to keep making his relations to Kim jong-un and then having

in a multiple summits down the road because he can really continue this

perception that is to working really hard and you mind every time to the US

electorate that he's been able to do something that his predecessors failed

so I think this second summary is not going to be the end overall so Matt and

I think a person Jerome has been trying to manage the expectations in the record

and downgrading the level of the power for success from completing Makran

ization to something about the stability and security so I would say that he's

not going to make this data current upcoming summit the end of all cements

is going to make it a sell was another episode is ongoing saga so I think is

going to use that I mean each auction what about convenient for him to use the

continuation of the diplomatic talks in North Korea for continued I mean Anika

took about the perception to the US electorate that he said keeping and

having success when it comes to North Korea so another of many more to come

stepping aside a little bit there has been speculation that the u.s. is trying

to send a message to China by visiting Vietnam especially at a time

when Washington and Beijing are engaged in this trade more how do you see it

well I think that's a little bit of stretch I'll say because clearly you

know this is I mean the meeting between North Korea and the United States

something that's supported by China China definitely wants to see some sort

of negotiate and possibly welcome to the negotiation between the two countries

so the venue doesn't really matter for China we got to remember the last one

last time and in Singapore China was the one that supplied the logistics of

travel to Kim jong-un so China I think is behind this and I think he's going to

see the venue the which is Vietnam this time as a way for the u.s. to send a

message to China that the u.s. is spending or containing China in the

region so Vietnam itself is also stepping up a lot of preparations on its

own giving this summit a lot of media coverage and it's also setting up a

press Center for international reporters what are some of the benefits for

Vietnam for hosting this kind of summer well it clearly racist Viet Nam's

profile not just I mean major economy or that case a free advertisement from

Verizon from from the rest of world but also erases its diplomatic standing in

the eyes of the internal community and the fact that is enabled I mean the

Vietnam has been able to host a meeting between a very reclusive a paranoid

leader such as Kim Jong and the US president isn't going to really be

impressive I mean I mean a lot of people are going to find that very impressive

and it's going to make Fenimore influential voice in the future of the

international diplomacy so I think that's what we now actually craves and

it's got to make use of it down the road shifting gears a little bit South Korean

president moon jae-in on Monday said that he expects great development

towards developing or normalizing Pyongyang Washington ties as well as

North Korea's denuclearization now his comments come amid concerns that

there could only be a small deal coming out of the second summit now he has

expected to talk with President Trump over the phone soon what kind of things

do you think will be discussed and do you think this will give us an idea of

what to expect for the second summit well there's a

that's one of standing issue between North Korea and the United States we

heard from the media reports that US might offer to sign the Declaration to

in the world in Hanoi so there's a circulation that president moon would

cry to Hanoi to join the summit between the two

leaders to sign the Declaration to in the war agreement but then that didn't

materialize so but then I think despite the fact that our likelihood of the

creation being - in the world inside this time the system chance of her

happening and this is going to be a an option for the United States to offer to

North Korea as a way to incentivize North Korea to denuclearize so I think

all the present Trump impressive more I want to make the discussion about this

potential option and then sort of keep it alive so to speak so also on the

other hand the possibility of small do big deal but remember that you know just

our Puri success in the eyes of the beholder so I think present moon is what

to find any positive outcome no matter how big or small

what's a greater success so I would say that I mean I think I percent moon it's

pretty positive about the fact that something will come out of this so

before we let you go working-level talks are expected to take place this week if

the talks earlier this month in Pyongyang were aimed at browsing all the

cards each side had what do you think will be discussed this time and do you

think anything will we'll be able to hear anything about it before the summit

so I think we heard a lift from the American side what American side is

putting on the table we heard about a liaison surface when the possibility

discipline is lower but declaration tender or agreement is also on the table

and there's some sanctions relief or measure at least there'll be an

expansion about humanitarian assistance in North Korea so this order of shots

that the US has put on the table but we haven't heard much from the North Korean

side that's an indication that the two sides are still really working really

hard to come to an agreement before they have the summit next week so I think

that's pretty much what's going on right now okay I'm afraid that's all the time

we have for today thank you for your insights my pleasure

U.S. discussing exchanging liaison officers with North Korea: CNN - Duration: 1:59.

so as a follow-up to that report bidding to build formal diplomatic relations

between North Korea and the u.s. it is being reported by CNN that the two sides

are strongly mulling the idea of exchanging liaison offices something

that if realized hasn't happened in well over two decades

each Sanjay with more sighting to sources familiar with the discussions

CNN reports North Korea and the US are seriously considering a possible

exchange of liaison officers in an incremental step towards building formal

diplomatic relations according to the sources several US liaison officers

could be sent to set up office in North Korea led by senior foreign service

officer who speaks Korean while in his preliminary phase the talks can mark a

significant step in negotiations between North Korea and the u.s. a similar

agreement was reached in 1994 with an agreed framework leading to extensive

discussions over exchanging liaison officers beginning with up to seven

officers each however around a year later North Korea scrapped a plan after

a u.s. helicopter was shot down when it crossed over the Demilitarized Zone

while the exchange could improve ties between the two sides watchers in the US

are cautious saying the regime has yet to show a strong willingness to

denuclearize while North Korea has halted its nuclear tests and sharply

toned down its rhetoric president Trump's Director of National

Intelligence said last month that North Korea is unlikely to completely give up

its nuclear weapons and production capability while the US State Department

declined to comment on the CNN report if confirmed it would be a significant

gesture on the part of the u.s. to get North Korea to move forward on

denuclearization Eason J Arirang news
