So, you want to know more about Buddha?

OK, let's look at ten things you may not know about Buddha.

Number 1

Buddha wasn't a god.

He was a mortal man.

Number 2 There are many legends surrounding his birth,

including that he entered his mother's womb as a white elephant.

Some believe this actually happened, some believe it was just her dream.

Number 3 While the exact date of Buddha's birth isn't

known, his birthday is celebrated in May.

It is celebrated on different days in different countries.

Number 4

According to legend, he was born a prince.

While this is doubtful, it is very likely that he was born into a wealthy family, if

not some level of nobility.

Number 5

Before he became the Buddha, he was married and had a son.

At the age of 29, he left his family to seek enlightenment.

Number 6

It took Buddha six years before he found enlightenment at the age of 35.

Number 7

Buddha wasn't fat.

The images we see of a jolly fat Buddha are actually of an ancient Chinese monk named

Budai.

Number 8

Buddhist scriptures say he died of food poisoning, probably pork.

Others say he ate mushrooms.

Buddha died at the age of 80, so he may have simply died of the usual ailments of age.

Number 9

Following his death he was cremated.

Some of his remains are said to exist and can be seen in museums and sacred sites.

Number 10

We don't know what Buddha's hair really looked like.

He cut off his hair when he began to seek enlightenment so he was probably bald.

Some stories say the curls we see are snails, these were probably added for symbolic reasons.

When it comes to Buddha, where does fact end and legend begin?

And does it really matter?

Meditation Kicks Depressions Ass For Good

By Dreamcatcher

Depression is more than just a bummer. Its a stone cold killer.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) depression is now the leading cause

of disability in the world, affecting more than 350 million people worldwide. In fact,

1 in 20 people reported having an episode of depression the previous year in a recent

global WHO survey.

Even worse, depression is also the leading cause of suicide, which has now passed up

car accidents as the number one cause of accident related deaths in the United States, according

to the American Journal of Public Health.

Depression has also become a multi-billion dollar business for pharmaceutical companies

that produce antidepressant Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) like Zoloft and

Prozac, medications that supposedly correct a chemical imbalance of neurotransmitters

like serotonin in the brains of depressed people. We have all seen the ads.

But a 2008 study at Florida State University found that there was no real scientific evidence

to support the chemical imbalance story, no matter how widespread.

Instead, researchers found that the theory has been misrepresented to the public

by corporations and the media and furthermore that much of the perceived efficacy of SSRI

antidepressant medications is due to the placebo effect.

In spite of this and other similar findings, antidepressants continue to be the most prescribed

drugs in the country.

More than 30 million Americans take them even though their therapeutic value is dubious

and they are linked to a growing number of serious side effects including, most recently,

birth defects in children of pregnant women who use them.

When it comes to the real cause of depression, many scientific studies have shown depressed

people actually have more asymmetry in their brain function than normal, especially between

the right and left frontal lobes; areas responsible for thought and emotional processing.

This asymmetry is even considered a marker, or a predictor, of depression in people and

is associated with depressive thought patterns like hopelessness.

And what causes this asymmetry? The answer is stress. Depression, like Post Traumatic

Stress Disorder (PTSD), is actually caused by brain damage from stress.

This explains why numerous aspects of modern life, including student loan debt, are linked

to depression the higher the debt, the higher the levels of stress and depression.

This opens up a can of worms about how society is structured, but it also begs the question:

If stress causes depression, can calmness reverse it?

Meditation, the age-old technique of focusing on the present in order to dwell in a state

of tranquility the ultimate stress buster.

Amazingly, a slew of recent studies have found that meditation does actually shape

the brain; it corrects damage from stress, enhances connectivity between the two lobes

and even promotes cell growth in key regions that are underdeveloped in depressed people,

like the hippocampus.

This means that meditators are changing the actual structure of their brains (see video

above), thereby rewiring their emotional reactions and thought patterns to a calmer baseline

on a physical level. This makes them more resilient to depression permanently.

Studies have shown conclusively that meditation is more effective than antidepressants in

preventing a relapse of depression, and a first-of-its-kind study last year found the

practice to be just as effective as one-on-one cognitive behavioral therapy.

But studies aside, the question remains: can meditation completely cure an illness that

is currently plaguing the entire world?

To find out, Resets Ocean Malandra contacted Spike Gillespie, author of the newly published

book: Sit. Stay. Heal. How Meditation Changed My Mind, Grew My Heart and Saved My Ass.

After suffering from depression off and on for much of her adult life, Spike decided

in December 2012 (in the midst of a particularly heavy relapse) to devote herself to meditating

every day for a year an endeavor she also recorded online by posting daily on her blog

Meditation Kicks Ass.

Three years of daily practice later, Spike remains depression free.

A resident of Austin, Texas, she now teaches a simple non-sectarian meditation technique

based on observing the breath, bringing the mind back to the present and the breath when

it wanders.

Spike says that anyone with a desire to try can get started practicing meditation to reap

its benefits. Her story is an inspiration and a testament to the healing powers of our

own mind.

Reset: Lets start at the beginning. I know you say you had bouts of depression since

your teenage years, but about what age was that? And when did you start practicing meditation?

Spike: I can only take an educated guess.

Based on the fact I started binge-drinking at fourteen, and also that adolescent body

chemistry changes began the year before, Im thinking my depression started very early

in my teen years.

I want to clarify that I cannot remember any protracted bouts of being leveled by depression

in my early teens, but also remember this was in the 70s, before we had the sort

of common usage terms for depression, self-medication, and treatment.

Plus I come from a very blue-collar background where you arent allowed to be depressed

you get your ass up and you go do what is expected of you.

My earliest recollection of meditation is these super mini-meditations like a minute

long we did in Taekwondo, which I studied for a couple of years in my mid-thirties.

That wet my appetite. I was on a road trip in the early aughts when I heard about a Vesak

Day celebration at a monastery outside of St. Louis.

I knew nothing of Vesak Day but was interested in learning about Buddhism. I went and heard

Thubten Chdrn speak and meditated with a very welcoming community and that was the

start of it.

Reset: Did you feel benefit from your early practices? If so, how?

Spike: Memory is a funny thing. Again, I dont have any keen memories of magical enlightenment.

And my practice now compared to the early days is a lot different and, I think, yields

more noticeable results.

But yes, I did benefit from early practices because for one thing, I think anyone who

sits will experience some benefit and also because the early sitting led to the sitting

I do now.

So it was foundation work, even if I had a hard time being consistent or sitting for

more than five minutes.

Those early sessions were, I think now, very much about learning what it means to set intent,

and over time my intent to dedicate myself to a serious practice took root.

Reset: Did you ever try anti-depressants? If so, what was the experience?

Spike: Yes. Very, very briefly I tried four or five different anti-depressants/ anti-anxiety

medications. The results were always, always disastrous. Prozac made me very speedy and

unable to concentrate and I lost a lot of weight.

I was also still a drinker then, which is a bad combination. Effexor I tried just once,

and immediately felt dizzy and a momentary fuzzy blindness and I wanted to puke.

Wellbutrin made me nuts. Zoloft gave me a horrific headache. Its important to factor

in that while I believe my reactions were mostly physical, there was likely some psychosomatic

stuff at play.

Reset: In researching this article I found that a lot of Buddhists and meditation practitioners

are reluctant to say that meditation cures depression, although in my opinion thats

exactly what the whole End of Suffering Bit in Buddhism is all about. Whats

your view?

Spike: I want to be careful here to speak only to my experience. And yes, in my experience,

I say with absolute certainty meditation cured my depression. Since I began a serious practice

at the end of 2012 I have not had a bout of depression.

That is astonishing. Well actually these days its not astonishing, it just is. But with

each year that passed and I am well into my third year now I was amazed. Its

like those signs you see at train yards: X Number of Days Since Our Last Accident.

Im going on a whole lot of days since I last fell into bed and could barely function

for weeks at a time.

I still have down days and last February my PTSD got triggered and I had a few very, very

hard days. But my practice saw me through that. I did not fall into the hole.

I cannot know the future, maybe one day depression will return. But it seems very unlikely to

me, barring some incredible external tragedy, that I will ever again suffer like I used

to.

Because now, even days when I suffer, I have a crystal clear awareness of impermanence

and I know my suffering will soon ease. It always does.

Reset: Science shows that meditators do effectively re-shape their brains, leading to lasting

change. But in terms of the subjective experience, can you tell me what the biggest noticeable

differences were in terms of your thought process and emotional reactions after your

now almost three years of daily practice?

Spike: I like to joke with my friends and meditation students that the biggest change

is that I have a tremendous awareness now of how messy I am, that the meditation hasnt

cured anything, simply made me extremely awake to my tics and traits and neuroses and

bad habits and how many bazillion miles away I am from even spotting the trailhead with

the sign that says, Enlightenment This Way.

The reality though, is that my awareness, and my awareness of my awareness, is a fantastic

tool.

So lets say I am on Facebook I have an extremely active wall and I am a very opinionated

person and people love to show up and argue with me sometimes. I am the absolute queen

of taking the bait.

I am a trolls online dream date. Im not just fascinated by the way certain people

feel a need to get in my face, but Im fascinated by my sometimes non-equanimity in response.

I dont always post a smartass reply but often I do. Still, I have an awareness in

my heart and mind that I am feeling angry or irritated by an offhand remark of a stranger.

This in turn leads me to step back internally and say, Hey, whats all that about?

Why are you focusing so much energy on this stupid remark when that person already forgot

making it?

When I use my awareness to examine my reactions, I can see:

Hey, this is flashing you back to being bossed around as a kid by older sisters and

an angry dad. You are reacting to the past. This defensiveness is life long and it causes

you suffering. Pay attention. Work on that.

In this way, I have become less impulsive, less fly-off-the-handle. This not only allows

me to be less of an asshole in the eyes of others (not that Im super worried about

what they think, but what I mean is I dont want to cause others to suffer), it also brings

me a growing calm that informs my life now. My definition of happiness is calmness.

Reset: I really like that definition; its the opposite of stress and depression. So

do you think meditation should be taught in school?

Spike: I like to say when I am king (because I will be a woman king) everyone is learning

martial arts and meditation. EVERYONE. It neednt be rooted in religious practice.

Mindful breathing for everyone. This past summer I led a couple of meditation camps

for kids.

I was beside myself with joy at how many of them showed up and already knew what meditation

was. I think if we included meditation in the curriculum it would help across the board

it would help with communication, concentration, compassion, all of it.

Reset: Beautiful. Ok, last question: What advice and resources would you share with

someone that is suffering from depression and wants to try meditation but is not sure

where to start?

Spike: I would say to a depressed person, Look, I totally get it. Depression is such

a beast. You feel like you cant even function so how are you going to meditate?

I suggest you just sit up in a chair, in your bed if you cant get out of bed,

or on a pillow on the floor if you want. Close your eyes.

Breathe in and breathe out and as you do just note to yourself silently I am breathing in,

I am breathing out. At first you might only be able to manage a few breaths or a minute.

Thats okay. You are not doing it wrong. You are trying, so you are doing it right.

Answering Your Comments About YouTube [CC] - Duration: 3:03.

Hello Rebel, and welcome back to my life. So

this is a follow-up to last Sunday's

video about how to have a better

conversation here on the YouTubes. I want

to thank everyone who left comments

with their thoughts and ideas on that

video, and I want to share them and talk

about them here with the rest of you.

InTheMannerOfTheGrover said, "I think it

would be worth trying with the comments

you like best making a vlog out of your

responses to them in video form." I think

this is an awesome idea. It's like when

John Green does Question Tuesdays. Yeah, I

mean, I made a whole video about how much

I liked the vlogbrothers and how much I

loved how connected they are to their

audience, and I did not do the main thing

where they, like, directly connect with

their audience. However, the very astute

among you will notice that that is what

I am doing right now.

Gerald Hornsby said, "I really enjoyed the

video where your wife was on screen, too,

talking about your vacation." I agree. I

really like my wife as well. Frankly, I

can't see enough of her. Also, we are

going to try and have her on the channel

more often, maybe once a month. AND there

is something else coming down the line

that I am very excited about, but you're

gonna have to wait and see. Polesitter Pictures

said, "God do I missed the video

response function." Okay, so, fun fact: I

joined, like, the YouTube community just

before YouTube removed the video

response feature entirely. And from

everything I've heard when people talk

about them, it was this awesome, amazing

function that was an interesting and

vital part of the YouTube community, and

everyone loved it, and no one is happy

that they removed them. And yeah, I just

hate it when big companies that I mostly

love do things that seem just so

boneheaded and stupid. But I already made

a video about Marvel recently, so we'll

move on. Sondra Ann suggested, "Have a

specific day flagged for conversation. You

start it, one of your subscribers submits

their video response, and then you answer

that." I like this idea. I like it a lot

that's what Dan Brown used to do on his

channel. Boy, I miss that guy. Dan Brown,

Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert all

stopped their shows, and then Trump got

elected. I'm not saying it's their fault,

but I am saying I want them all to come

back. Yeah, I know Colbert's on late night,

but it's not the same. Anyway, video

conversations with viewers. Yes, I like

that idea, but like, no question, it would

require a lot of work, and it's not

something I feel comfortable committing

to, at least not right now. But I could

see doing it occasionally, so if somebody

does want to have an actual video

conversation, feel free to make a video,

upload it, and let me know about it. Even if I

don't actually want to do the video

conversation with your video, I will make

every effort to watch it and leave

my thoughts and response. Paola said, "You

could make more direct or indirect

response videos to videos that you

watched, maybe especially responses to

smaller creators." Another fantastic idea

that I want to do more of. So during

VEDA, I made a couple of videos that

weren't in response to other small

YouTubers, but borrowed topics from them

and then referred my viewers back to

their channels. And I really like the

idea of actually responding to them, of,

like, starting up that dialogue. I do

subscribe to a bunch of other small

YouTubers, but I don't feel like I do a

good enough job of actually

communicating with them, you know, like,

interaction. I plan to take big steps to

correct that during VidCon this year. I

am going to do collaborations, dang it!

But between now and then, I am going to make

an effort to talk to other small

YouTubers here on the site again. Thank

you to every single person who gave

their ideas. They were awesome, and you're

awesome, and I think that your ideas are

going to make the channel even more

awesome. Please look forward to seeing

some videos like the ones you've

suggested in the near future, starting

with this one and probably next week. That's all

I've got for you today, Rebel. Click right

up there to see my last video, or click

right down there to see my Patreon and

catch my secret weekend videos. Thank you so

much for watching, and I will see you

tomorrow. Byyye!

jis se aapko lagta hai ki aapki memory clean ho rahi hai or aapka phone fast hora hai

Doston aisa bilkul nahi hai ulta aapka phone slow ho jaata hai kyuki jo bhi aapne task clear kare hain wo background me fir se start ho jaate hain

or saare jitni bhi chache memory hoti hai wo start ho jaati hai or aapka phone slow ho jaata hai

to better hain ki aap un saare apps ko clean na karein or as it is open rehne dein kyuki dobara jab aap us app ko kholenge

to saara data jo hai as it is pada rahega or apps fast khulengi

To jo 3rd jo hai wo hai heat up while charging

jab bhi aap apna phone charge lagate hain to apki problem hoti hai ki ye apki complaint hoti hai ki

hai kii ye aapka jo phone hai bhot jyada garm ho raha hai or bhot jyada heat ho raha hai to aapka smartphone khraab hai

to doston aisa bilkul nahi hai ye bhi ek myth hai ye bhi ek

to aajkal ke smartphones jo hain unme bhot jyada battery capacity ke phones aare hain

4100Mah 4500Mah 3000Mah ki batteries aa rahi hain

to jab aap unko charge karte hain or unme fast charging ka option aata hai jo fast charging volt k charger hote hain

wo aapke phone me bhot jyada speed se current flow karte hain bhot jyda speed me current aapke phone ko dete hain

jis se aapka phone bohot jyada heatup hota hai or charging k smayae phone heatup hona normal hai koi bhot badi deal nahi hai

to dooston jo 3rd hai wo hai chargeup with original charger

to aapne suna hoga bohot logon se ki aap apne phone ko sirf original charger se charge karein doston aisa bilkul nahi hai ye bhi ek myth hai

bas aap ye dekh lijiye ki aap jis dusre charger se us phone ko charge kar rahe hain uski volt capacity uski volt output jo hai aapke charger se match karti ho

to aapka charger aap kahin se bhi kisi bhi 3rd party jagah se charger kharid ke apne phone ko charge kar skte hain aapke phone me litterally koi bhi problem nahi aaegi or jaisa battery perform kar rahi hai waisa hi perform karegi

doston agli myth hai ki best network bar means best stregnth

jab bhi aapne dekha hoga ki apke phone me jo network bars hain wo bohot jyada aa rahi hain or kabhi bhot kam aa rahi hain

aapko aisa lagta hoga ki aapki bars jahan pe jyada hain aap wahan tower ke pass hain or jahan bars kam hain aap tower se door hain

doston aisa bilkul nahi hai jab bhi aap tower ke pass hote hain bars full aate hain or kabhi nahi hote tab bhi full aate hain

ye isliye hota hai kyuki us area ke customer pe depend karta hai agar airtel ka tower hai or network kam aare hain

thats mean us area ke jitne bhi airtel users hain wo net ya call use kar rahe hain jis wajah se apke tower ya bar kam aare hain

FRONT DOOR?

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE OUT

THAT IS WHAT WE SPEND A LOT OF

TIME WORKING WITH OUR RESIDENTS

ON.

PEOPLE DO DIFFERENT, CREATIVE

THINGS WITH THEIR APARTMENTS.

LET'S TALK ABOUT THOSE

POSSIBILITIES.

WE WERE VERY EXCITED TO

PARTNER WITH THE BUILDING AND

OTHER WORKERS -- PARTNERS.

IT IS BEEN A GREAT PARTNERSHIP

WITH THEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW.

IT IS A GREAT BUILDING WITH A

SIMPLE PAINT SCHEME, GREAT

CABINETRY, AND

THAT GOES WITH A

LOT OF THESE OLD, CLASSIC

BUILDINGS.

WE DID A SORT OF BACHELOR THEME.

WE HAVE ADDED A LOT OF WARM WO

OD TO CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT

IS WARM, INVITING, AND OPEN.

WE CAN DO ANYTHING

FOR THE

UNIT

WE CAN MAKE THEM THEME

D FOR

WHATEV KIND OF SPACE THE

CLIENT WOULD LIKE.

I KNOW IT IS IMPORTANT FOR

616 LOFTS TO REALLY PARTNER WITH

A LOT OF LOCAL BUSINESSES AND

CREATE THOSE CONNECTIONS.

YES, A LOT

OF THE RESIDENTS

WHO MOVE IN WITH US ARE COMING

FROM OUTSIDE THE AREA.

WHAT WE WANT TO DO IS TO THEM

CONNECTED TO NOT ONLY THEIR

NEIGHBORS RIGHT OUTSIDE THEIR

OWN DOOR, BUT ALSO TO ALL THE

GREAT THINGS THAT ARE OUT HERE.

WE HAVE SOMETHING CALLED A 616

PASS THAT WE PROVIDE TO ALL OF

OUR RESIDENTS.

IT GIVES BEEN CONNECTIONS IN THE

COMMUNITY BY INTRODUCING THEM TO

LOCAL BUSINESSES THAT YOU MAY

NOT KNOW.

IT IS A CHANCE TO GIVE THEM

OPPORTUNITIES, AND WE ARE IN

JUST TO GET CONNECTED.

OUR RESIDENTS WANT A SPACE

DESIGNED FOR THEM.

THEY WANTED FURNITURE THAT FIT

THEIR NEEDS.

A LOT OF TIMES, WITH THE

BUILDINGS WE END UP WITH AND

THEIR RENOVATIONS, WE END UP

WITH SOME UNIQUE SPACES THAT

MEET A SPECIAL CHALLENGE FOR

SOMEONE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW

TO PUT THE RIGHT PIECES INTO

THIS SPACE.

WE ARE IN THE BUILDING RIGHT

NOW IN DOWNTOWN GRAND RAPIDS.

THERE ARE

A LOT OF DIFFERENT

NEIGHBORHOODS WITH DIFFERENT

PERSONALITIES.

WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THAT IS

THAT PEOPLE HAVE A LOT OF

DIFFERENT DESIRES.

IF PEOPLE WANT TO BE RIGHT IN

THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN, NEXT TO

THE ARENA, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE

ACTION.

OTHER PEOPLE REALLY WANT THAT

URBAN FEEL BUT MORE OF A

NEIGHBORHOOD.

SO, MAYBE A LITTLE BIT OUTSIDE

OF THE CENTER CITY.

THAT IS EXCITING.

COMMUNITY IS ESSENTIAL TO WHAT

YOU ARE CREATING.

YES, WE THINK IT IS A VERY

BIG DEAL FOR US.

WE LIVE IN AN AGE WHERE PEOPLE

ARE VERY MUCH TIED TO THEIR

PHONES AND THINGS RIGHT IN FRONT

OF THEIR FACES.

WE WANT PEOPLE TO LOOK

UP FROM

THEIR PHONES FOR A MINUTE, SEE

WHAT IS OUT THERE, AND

MAKE SOME

UNIQUE CONNECTIONS WITH PEOPLE

WHO YOU MAY NOT HAVE MET IN THE

PAST.

I THINK ONE OF THE UNIQUE THINGS

ABOUT GRAND RAPIDS IS THAT

PEOPLE HERE REALLY LOVE TO BE

INVOLVED.

WE LIKE TO INFORM OUR RESIDENTS

ABOUT HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN THE

COMMUNITY.

THANK YOU FOR LETTING US IN

TO CHECK IT OUT.

ABSOLUTELY.

10 Things You Didn't Know About Darkness! KonoSuba Facts & Trivia - Duration: 12:03.

Darkness the oldest member in Kazuma's

party. Darkness is 18 years old at the

start of the series and she should be 19

years old now since she has admitted

celebrating a birthday while being a

party member. Which by the way Darkness

thought it was better not to invite

Kazuma, Aqua and especially Megumin.

There three were just too much potential

for trouble. In the original web novel

Darkness was much older. She was 22 years

old at the very beginning.

Turns out darkness is not only the

oldest but also the tallest party member.

She comes in at 5 feet 6 inches or 170

centimeters. Of course Darkness's job

is officially a crusader. Unofficially

it's being a hardcore masochist.

She simply fits her job perfectly. Who

else is better suited for tanking enemy

damage than a person who gets off by

getting hit? This is truly a match made

in heaven!

You know this blonde holy knight as

Darkness also known as Lalatina

Dustiness Ford. So where exactly did

this Darkness alias come from? You may be

thinking, oh it comes from her inner dark

herself as a masochist. I mean after all

whenever Lalatina is in the presence of

other royalty she does a really good job

at hiding her masochist side. Her persona

as Darkness allows Ms Lalatina to fully

embrace her true self. So that could be

part of it. Although her name as Darkness

is likely a reference to Final Fantasy.

In the Final Fantasy games there is as

negative Darkness status this negative

status reduces your accuracy causing

your physical attacks to miss most of

the time hmm. Doesn't this sound familiar?

Your favorite masochist Crusader is

voiced by Ai Kayano.

She's a veteran voice actors with a

bunch of notable roles. Her voice actors

has voiced Saori from Girls Und Panzer.

Inori the spectacle that was Guilty Crown.

Chizuru from last year's ReLife. and

the lovable little Shiro from No Game No

Life. Pretty soon Ai is going to be

teaming up with Sora again this time for

a different anime. She is going to be

voicing another blond knight. Meet Alice.

She's one of the new female knights for

SAO season 3. Expect Alice to be similar

to Darkness without that masochist part

and much more serious.

An important

part for what defines Darkness is her

being a daughter of royalty. All over the

kingdom she's known as Lalatina from

the Dustiness Ford family. Her royal

family is described as being a super

powerful noble clan that is a top

adviser to the nation. Most of this

actual work is handled by her father who

is 45 years old. dDarkness seems to have

this Disney princess type of thing going

on. Her mother passed away when she was

too young to even remember her face.

Despite darkness preferring to be in the

front lines as a knight herself,

Darkness does hold the values of her

family very close. That is, to protect the

citizens of their nation. It's funny

because if Darkness really wanted to

she could easily abuse the power of her

family name. You've seen that super important

family pendant that she carries around

to identify herself. Using this pendant

Darkness can really get away with almost

anything.

They describe it as being as powerful in

this world as what a master ball is to

freakin Pokemon. After finding out about

it Aqua even try to make a fake one.

Unfortunately Darkness quickly smashed

it. Although Darkness is careful when to

actually use her family name, Darkness

has taken advantage of her family name

to hide the fact that she's technically

divorced.

hmm. Darkness herself may not believe

that Aqua is divine at all although

Darkness does have a strong connection

to a different goddess. She openly

displays her strong faith as a member of

the Eris church. We saw her take

advantage of this when she was trying to

keep those looney Axis cult members

away. Der faith in Eris isn't something

by coincidence. Before Darkness became an

adventurer, Darkness used to visit the

Eris Church every day.

She prayed that one day she would find

an adventurer party that would accept her.

Not too long after that Darkness

happened to run into Chris while on her

way back from church. Chris ended up

becoming her first friend outside of the

royal house. Even to this day you could

see Darkness expressing her full faith

in Eris simply by the way she

dresses.

Darkness what this gem that is similar to the

one that Eris has and on one shoulder

Darkness has this feather-light design

which is also similar to what Eris

herself wears. Although unlike Eris,

Darkness does not need to pad her chest!

Darkness's most notable trait by a mile

is her being a fan of Fifty Shades of

Grey. She's a hardcore masochist.

You see Darkness talking about these

extreme wild fantasies in her head but

in reality she's still a virgin. When it

comes down to actually getting together

with someone intimately Darkness gets

extremely shy. In fact later at one point

Kazuma and Darkness find themselves

together one night alone with minimal

clothing. The perfect mood is set and

nothing happens. . . The outcome of this is

only a peck the cheek by Darkness.

Despite this Vanir later reveals

and confirms something for everyone

about Darkness. Darkness actually goes at

it really hard solo every single night!

Yeah

fun times after dark Of course this

should surprise no one. Oh and this is

probably the best place to mention it. In

case you were wondering, and I know you

were. Darkness wears black undies.

-You're welcome. Originally Darkness was

in Axel Town at the startled series

because she ran away from her family to

avoid getting married. One of many time.

In fact Megumin happened to run into

her during this time before they even

joined up in Kazuma's party. Their family

Butler was going around asking everyone

around the village to help find her and

even was offering up a generous reward.

Megumin who was completely broke at this

time definitely wanted to help find her

after hearing about this. The problem was

that Megumin pictured a cute pure little

blonde girl in her head. It was funny

just how off she was. Megumin and Yunyun

even passed by Darkness soon after this.

They just had no idea that this knight

could be that runaway a little girl. At

this time Darkness was hanging around

with Chris, screaming out "There seems to

be a demon in the forest! Let's kill it

in the name of the goddess Eris!". Now let

me ask you how popular do you think

Darkness really is? You seen Megumin

and Aqua come up in my videos about them.

Perhaps this blonde masochist just doesn't

mix that well with others in Japan.

Forget about being in the top three

Darkness didn't even make it into the

top five characters in KonoSuba. Ms

Lalatina

came in sixth place. You might be able to

blame Darkness's much lower ranking

due to her being a masochist.

Some people just find it harder relating

to her love of pain. So how about you?

Is darkness your favorite girl in KonoSuba?

Maybe blonde girls are your things

too.

You know Darkness as this super tank

monster. She's truly amazing at taking

hits, but actually doing damage let's go

ahead and leave that to Megumin.

The reason for this is just that part of

her joke is that Darkness is always

missing her enemies. I was thinking why?

Why is this? There has to be an actual

reason. Turns out there's two. The first

one you could guess pretty easily.

Darkness has consciously decided to put

all our skill points into upgrading her

physical and magical defense skills. This

means Darkness has not raised her

mastery with the sword at all. She really

wants to become the ultimate tank. And

reason number two. This is more why she

wants to be purely defensive. Darkness

has purposely gone all these things in

hopes that her sword skills would miss.

Not hitting her enemy for Darkness

means that she's going to get

embarrassed, which means that she's going

to be soaking wet. So in the end even

this comes down to her inner masochist

desires. Just imagine if Darkness could

actually hit something. It seems that

she's really naturally powerful to begin

with. When Wanir had his mask on her

Darkness truly was a super soldier.

Taking out everyone around her was a

piece of cake. Perhaps both of these

should team up together for their fight

verses the demon king one day. And talking

about Darkness's iron defense, how tough

is she really? In general the role of

darkness of some party is to take blows

that will easily kill any of the other

three

especially the soft squishy Kozma let me

go ahead and give you a few examples of

how tough darkness really is one

darkness taking on the goomy's explosion

this is one you've seen in the enemy so

far almost nothing has been left

standing after taking it on and explode

for good reason to to darkness

withstanding cosmos train touch as a

comparison later on Kazuma has been able

to take down the kingdom's largest role

guard commander simply by using his

drain touch on it darkness however has

been the only one to withstand this and

remain

standing she eventually got turned on

and fell though three surviving getting

soul water by a hydro monster

this hydro beasts had already killed

someone else and dissolved that person's

body darkness is not only surviving

inside of it just fine

her body was not liquefied at all

although I can't say the same thing

about her Armour for darkness took a hit

from many years one hit killer Rea even

Vani was shocked by this the name

one-hit killer Rhea is no joke Vanier

thought that this must have been due to

her super high magic resistance or

perhaps it was just her super thick

muscles darkness might even make the

rock jealous of that by the way you

could think aquifer why darkness even

got hit by this killer move in the first

place number five the most outstanding

moment about darkness in my mind in the

situation where darkness disrespect the

kingdoms princess an elite roll guard

trying to size up darkness as hand as

punishment however this is darkness for

talking about the sword blade only heard

her a little bit it only managed to tear

into her skin and most whole little

darkness didn't even flinch from no

surprise that darkness holds the title

for the winner in the annual endurance

competition in axle town thanks for

watching really hope you enjoyed this I

was really surprised to see how many

people want to see a video on darkness

maybe she is just more popular outside

of Japan so let's find out who do you

think is the best girl in gonna Suba is

this masochist crusader similar to your

taste also please be sure to give the

video a thumbs up and subscribe

especially if you love kono Suba there's

a new one of these videos every week I

wonder who should be in it hmm anyway

definitely be sure to check out the

video on aqua and Megumi and I'll see

you guys later

Everything about Doves and Pigeons - Duration: 11:47.

What is the difference between a dove and a pigeon?

Doves typically have smaller bodies and bigger tails than pigeons.

But there is an exception: the domestic pigeon, which is often called a rock dove and also

known as the "dove of peace."

Pigeons and doves belong to the same family, and have many similar features.

Domestic pigeons and doves make great pets.

Good natured and mellow, they love both their own kind and people and they are easy to care

for.

They're quiet, smart and social.

They don't bite, pluck, or chew and are low maintenance pets.

They are masters of the leisure arts – napping, flirting, sunbathing and nest sitting.

And they need homes!

Domestic pigeons and doves cannot survive in the wild.

Pigeons such as Kings, Fantails, Tumblers and Homers are smart, beautiful and gentle

birds.

They've been selectively bred and tamed and, while they can't survive in the wild,

they thrive as pets.

Many pigeons (and other birds as well) wind up in animal shelters, either surrendered

or found as strays, but they need adopters to get out alive.

Pigeons make great pets both indoors as part of the family or outside in a rodent and predator-proof

aviary.

Doves make excellent pets,especially Ringnecks.

They are beautiful, gregarious, friendly birds and are easily cared for.

They don't bite or screamand they will amuse you with their antics.

Their generally peaceful, easy-going ways make them a good choice for both experienced

and first-time bird adopters.

Ringneck Doves can be kept indoors or out.

Single doves can become quite affectionate and attached to their owners; however, they

are social and are happiest with dove companions.

Same-sex companions can live happily together or they can be kept in pairs or smallflocks.

Should you adopt a true pair you will need to replace the hen's eggs with artificial

ones, a practice we call "birdy birth control."

Because they breed so readily in captivity, there are many domestic doves in need of homes

so it's not advisable to raise more doves.

Doves have the same basic feed and care requirements as pigeons: a grain mix containing between

12-16% protein, pigeon grit and clean water.

a high quality cockatiel mix with extra safflower seed added as a treat.

frequently provide Ringnecks with millet sprays, which they enjoy very much.

They love greens and minced veggies and happily devour well-washed romaine lettuce leaves

several times a week.

Ringneck Doves have been bred in many color variations including pure white, tangerine,

pied and orange in addition to the deep gray-and-lavender wild type.

They don't come in bright colors like parrots, but their soft colors are lovely nonetheless.

When properly cared for they can live for 20 years, so you can enjoy their companionship

for a long time.

If you are looking for a gentle, beautiful, undemanding pet, a dove just might be the

right bird for you.

pigeons are domestic and can't survive in the wild.

pigeons are calm and very adaptable.

They're alert but not prone to panic.

Their energy level is much lower than that of parrots and they tend to have really great

leisure skills- lounging and napping and watching more than being busy,I think of parrots as

being hot and spicy while pigeons are cool and mellow, maybe even boring to some.

Pigeons will interact with you and some like ringing bell toys or adopting cat toy balls

as surrogate eggs.

Pigeons are quiet with the male courtship cooing/moaning being the main vocalization.

They do coo or trill at you sometimes but they never scream or yell.

While quiet and mellow, they are still full of opinions and personality and each is an

individual.

Like when adopting any bird, you have to accept them as a cherished guest in your life and

not try to change them or force them to be something they're not.

Most pet pigeons will give some quality snuggle time when in the house but prefer not to be

handled when they're outdoors

Doves and pigeons are found throughout the world except in the polar regions.

A large portion of them are established in the Oriental and Australasian regions.

It is not known when these birds first became kept in captivity, but they have been bred

and hybridized for various purposes for thousands of years.

Specialized traits such as the homing instinct, aerial acrobatics, and unique feather structures

have been developed (or diminished) through selective breeding over many years.

It is not known what the total number of doves and pigeons is, though there are over 305

described living species.

In the pigeon fancy alone there have been over 200 different breeds developed.

A dove and pigeon diet consisting of a basic commercial mix supplemented with greens rich

in minerals is generally regarded as suitable.

Greens can include such things as lettuce, endive, chickweed, clover, watercress, and

spinach.

Some fruits are berries, apple, and pear.

For smaller doves and pigeons you can use a budgie or canary mix.

The smaller birds will also enjoy millet spray.

Foods available for doves and pigeons include seed only diets, formulated diets that are

either pelleted or extruded, and commercial mixes generally consisting of seed, cereal,

and legumes.

The commercial mixes and the seed only diets require supplements for complete nutrition.

Though formulated diets offer the same nutrients as commercial mixes as well as the necessary

vitamins and minerals, they have been found to cause loose stools.

This is probably because of the addition of molasses, but because of this problem they

are not widely used today.

Supplements: Grit and Gravel: Because they eat seeds whole,

doves and pigeons need grit and gravel.

The little stones and the grit help grind up harder seed in the gizzard.

Vitamins: Vitamins can be added to the water or sprinkled on food in a dry form about once

a week.

Calcium: Offer calcium in the form of crushed oyster shell, grit, and even cuttlebone for

the small birds.

Other Supplements:Some folks like to occasionally offer game bird crumbles, water soaked dog

biscuits, and water or milk soaked bread as well

In all cases the size of the dove or pigeon determines the size of its home, they must

be able to flap their wings without hitting the sides.

Small birds such as the Diamond dove can be housed in a cage.

The medium and larger sized birds will do much better in an aviary.

Free flight birds will need a dovecote.

For many years doves and pigeons have been allowed free flight.

'Dovecotes' or 'pigeon lofts' were included as an integral part of many buildings throughout

many countries.

Originally these were built for utility purposes and later became more ornamental.

There are many examples of these still today.

A dovecote is a natural way to keep birds that have a homing instinct and will return

to the dovecote each evening.

For free flight birds, probably the most important thing to consider is safety!

Free flight birds can be at risk from a variety of predators.

Birds that are not use to free flying are especially at risk.

Free flyers must first be accustomed to their home before allowing them to fly.

If they are new to the dovecot, you can put a mesh cover around it until they become familiar

with their accommodations.

Once they know their home and where their food is they will return in the evening.

It is recommended that you feed them sparingly in the morning, providing the bulk of their

feed in the evening to encourage them to return.

many of the small doves have very poor homing instincts!

Putting small doves, like the domestic White Dove and Ringneck Dove, in a free flight situation

could mean the loss of your pet.

These birds would likely be lost, possibly perishing of starvation, predation, or exposure.

Wallcote: The larger birds are ideal for free flight,

especially the acrobatic flyers.

They enjoy it and it is good for their health.

For a small number of birds a wallcote is probably the most practical.

Built against the side of the house, preferably facing south or southwest, a wallcote is a

waterproof shelter consisting of compartments and a porch or landing board.

The compartment size is dependent on the the type of bird.

For a medium sized pair of birds a compartment can be about 26" (67 cm) wide, 18" - 20" (46

- 51 cm) deep, and 16" (41 cm) high with an entrance that is about 5" - 6" (13 - 15 cm).

The landing board can be about 8" (20 cm) wide and can also serve as a place to put

heavy crocks for food and water.

You can add more compartments as the number of birds increases.

Polecote: Another type of dovecote is the polecote.

This is a shelter and landing platform mounted on a free standing pole.

This type of cote is often more decorative than practical however.

Garden Cote: An aviary that is opened up and allows for

free flight is sometimes referred to as a garden cote.

Most doves and pigeons are seed eaters and thus ground dwellers.

They like to walk around and will roost higher up.

Some are free flyers that like to travel around.

All these birds will need flight space.

If you keep your bird in a cage they will need time out everyday to fly or walk about.

When resting, doves an pigeons do not tuck their head under a wing like many birds do,

rather they hunch down pulling their head between the shoulders.

Doves and pigeons are very hardy birds.

Seldom do they get sick if they are well cared for.

Many are very cold hardy but they do not handle being in an environment that is wet, cool,

and drafty.

Signs of Illness: Some of the signs of illness to be aware of

are abnormal behavior such as sitting for longer than usual or being abnormally quiet,

closed eyes, fluffed feathers, head nodding or head to one side, balance problems, sharply

protruding breast bone, dirty vent, and slimy droppings.

Common Illness: Some of the more common illnesses your dove

or pigeon could contract are pigeon pox, internal parasites such as threadworm, roundworm, or

tapeworm, external parasites such as mites or ticks, wounds, salmonellosis, and parrot

fever .An ailing dove or pigeon should be taken to a avian vet for diagnosis and treatment.

Natural "Drugs" That Pharmaceutical Companies Can't Replicate - Dr. Patrick Quillin - Duration: 4:35.

Dr. Quillin: Think about this.

What you have is these beautiful, dark cherries, and they're sweet, aren't they?

Ty Bollinger: Delicious.

Dr. Quillin: And what nature is saying is, "Alright.

What I've got is some sugar here, and the fungus living around

us in the trillions wants to eat this."

And so the plant has to create its own protection.

It creates a substance called phytoalexins, and that is,

one of those is resveratrol.

People have heard about it in red grapes.

Grapes are another thing.

So the sweet thing in the grape has to protect itself.

So if a fungus lands on this, and it eats that phytoalexin, it dies.

It's sort of its own, it's a pre-drug, essentially.

The drug companies can't duplicate this stuff.

And that's the beauty of what we've got here, is that you cannot patent a natural

substance.

And that's why the 280 billion dollar a year drug industry

can't come up with something as effective as this.

Phytoalexins, in red and green fruits and vegetables, have been shown to be anti-cancer

the same way that they protect the plant against fungus.

Moving on here, we've got another.

This is another Surinam cherry of a different color.

This is mangoes.

These are green and small right now, but they're going to get to be the size of a

baseball or bigger.

And what you have is, there's at least 8,000 different carotenoids, at least 20,000

different bioflavonoids, in fruits and vegetables.

And they find that these things are extraordinary as anti-aging, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory.

There's what?

Twelve million Americans who are on the Vioxx, Celebrex drugs.

They have chronic inflammation, chronic pain.

Eat more fruits and vegetables.

As a matter of fact, there's a group, if you look them up, NORI, on the web.

Nutrition Oncology Research Institute.

They recommend nothing but fruit to cure cancer, a whole-fruit diet.

Now I'm not sure that I go on that enthusiastic, but I

am clearly on board with them when you talk about the

biochemical, scientific reasons why fruit and vegetables are going to slow down cancer.

These are Golden Dorsett apples.

Apples, if you look at it and do a little analysis of it, you find not much

vitamin C and yet, the ORAC score is higher than vitamin C, because it's a combination

of all of these substances that are in the apple.

Moving on over here.

Here we go.

Mulberries.

These are Oscar mulberries.

Ty Bollinger: Now this one wasn't ripe last year.

Dr. Quillin: You're right.

You came at a different time of the year.

So dark purple is going to have this rich mixture

of phytochemicals, bioflavonoids, carotenoids.

The medicinal value is beyond argument.

Ty Bollinger: Oh my goodness.

That's ridiculously sweet.

Dr. Quillin: Delicious.

And this is why I'm saying, we're not denying ourselves, people.

People think, "If I can't have my Twinkies and Coke every day."

No, this stuff is delicious, and once you develop an appetite for

it, what's fascinating is, the human tongue has got four sensors - sour, sweet, salt and bitter.

That sweet is for fruit.

The earliest food of humans was fruit, eggs and insects.

I'm not telling you you have to eat insects, but eggs and fruit are

good, and the sweetness is to make fruit taste good and feel

good in our body.

And then what the food manufacturers have done is said, "We're going to create all

of these substitute sugars," which are not good for you, and

now we're eating 140 pounds per year of refined white sugar,

which is killing us.

Obesity, diabetes, depression, heart disease, cancer, among other diseases that

come with refined sugar.

This is a different sugar.

What you find is, if you take the fructose and other natural sugars that are in

the matrix.

Matrix means mother in Latin.

And literally, here's this sugar sitting in the middle of this cell

membrane, and it's got all these phytochemicals around it, and fiber, and it works.

And if you take a different sugar, and take all the matrix away, which is white sugar,

corn syrup, now it's killing people instead of healing people.

Ty Bollinger: I'm glad you picked that, because I was about to pick another one.

Ridiculously sweet.
