hello guys this is James from the legacy

of James channel and this video today is

going to be aimed more my British

viewership so another general election

is upon us and it's about that time

where you need to do that scramble at

the last minute to register to vote

thing yeah now this particular election

is very important for a number of

reasons chief among which is brexit all

the UK's exit from the European Union if

you don't know what brexit means which

rock have you been living under for the

past 1 and a half years now I'm going to

speak specifically to the younger

generation and by the younger generation

I mean the 18 to 34 year olds never at

any time in recent history has an

election carried more weight than this

one your vote has never carried more

weight at any time in recent history

than this election and if the referendum

on EU membership is anything to go by

you guys are the most apathetic people

when it comes to politics now you may

say that your vote doesn't matter and

apparently a lot of young people think

that but that isn't true everybody's

vote counts that's just how it is in a

democracy and just like life you win

some and you lose some some votes will

go your way others won't but the most

important thing is is that you voted you

cast your ballot you had your say I am

therefore encouraging every young person

who hasn't registered to vote yet to do

it online now you can even do it whilst

watching this video as a matter of fact

you'll probably finish registering to

vote before this video is finished it

doesn't take long at all and it means

that you have a say in the future of our

country

unfortunately I can't walk you through

the form as I've already registered to

vote but it takes no more than three to

four minutes you will need to provide

your citizenship status your nationality

your date of birth your full name your

address and your National Insurance

number if you are a British citizen

living abroad you will also need your

passport I will leave a link in the

description of this video that will take

you directly to the registration page

just follow the on-screen instructions

and you'll be done in no time

in my opinion when living in a democracy

not voting is

the worst thing you can possibly do if

you abstain from voting you all you are

doing is just increasing the chance of

getting a result that you don't like or

want now granted even if you do vote

there is a chance that the vote won't go

your way but at least you had your say

and the beautiful thing about elections

is that they happen every five years or

four years depending on what the result

of this election is so registering to

vote is quick and easy you really have

no excuse not to do it and remember the

deadline for registering to vote is

tomorrow Monday 22nd of May just before

midnight so make sure you register to

vote before then five minutes it's all it

takes

democracy is a right that was fought

very hard for in this country so don't

squander it sure things may not go your

way but hey that's life whoever you end

up deciding to vote for make sure you

get up off your arse and exercise your

democratic right to vote on the 8th of

June it counts now more than ever so
