It's Time To Break Out Of Your City/State/Country - Duration: 3:37.

It is time to break out of your city.

It's time to break out of your state, and

it is time to break out of your country.

Right now you might be thinking to

yourself, I've been traveling my own city

or my own state or my own country for a

few years now and I think I'm getting

close to the point of jumping out and

going to a new territory, a place I've

never been before. There's a few people

online that are saying "hey, come here" and

I think maybe the time is now. Well it

used to be a huge risk and while it's

still a risk of some sorts, because

you've never been there before, today it

is not as much a risk as it used to be.

And I say that because we have numbers

on our side. We have real, living, active

numbers on our side. It's very simple. If

you're playing shows in your hometown or

home city and you're getting 200 people

to those shows on average take the last

three headline shows and draw a little

average line, or if there's an upward

trajectory then figure out what that next

number might be. Whatever the number is

that you're getting in your city, just

use your strongest and most prominent

social media analytics to figure out the

ratio of online fans to bums on seats. So

if you're getting 200 people to your

show on average and you have 2,000 fans

that are in your city, you know that you

get about a 10% sales rate of your

online fans to your physical shows.

Perfect! So if you want to break a new

city, check out how many fans you have

online in that city. Now every territory

in every city and every country are

different, but we can use this number to

give us confidence to take the risk we

need to take, or we can use these numbers

to confirm for us that we shouldn't go

to a certain place, or at least not yet.

Then once you've decided to go to

one of these cities or a new country or

what have you, using these numbers, make

sure you book the right venue size

according to those numbers. You always

want to be selling it out, that's always

the goal. If you think you can sell 150

tickets don't book a venue that's 500

people large. Just don't do it. It's silly.

But once you're going to a new city make

sure you pay for advertising and get

some street-team members in that city

who are obvious hardcore fans of yours

to do a little bit of the legwork on the

ground, and incentivise it, make them some

great opportunities to be able to hang

out with you or do lunch or whatever it

is, and encourage them to get around the

city and plaster the town and posters to

the show, because there's nothing worse

than going to a new city for the first

time when the numbers all makes sense

and then you do the show and then you

get a whole bunch of people saying "I

didn't even know the show was on." You can

solve that problem before it is a

problem, just advertise properly. When you

go to a city, you need to make sure they

know you are coming. It's fundamental to

your success. So break out of your city,

break out of your state, break out of

your country, use the numbers find out

the ratio from fans to bums on seats and

kill it.

MONDO GROSSO / TIME - Duration: 5:25.

In the room by the window I release the night

Your eyes Still drifting in the waves at dusk

If we caress the scent That imbues the skin

And hold our hands together What will we hear?

I stroked the tiny melody Flowing from my ears

Fluttering in the air beautifully Ahh

Want to keep on feeling this night more and more

Want to keep on feeling you as it is

That is why I twisted the hands of the clock

And hid between the rhythm the two of us

lower the voice And make a wish

Heartbeats resonate and grow

Overtake us and rewind the time Overtake us and rewind the time

The dream is crying A town on the first day of the week

Turning over The drenched solitude

When I pursue you Your scent lights up

Melting away the scar and I bury my face in it

Sensations rush out Always

Bedazzling Ahh

Want to keep on feeling this night more and more

Want to watch tomorrow and the day after

Remove the blindfold from my heart

You lure me into a sea of words

Following the letters Tracing them with my voice

If the sound does not fade away

Even though the phrases are worn down

My lips will reverberate to you

Reborn again and always starting new

Before The memory disappears

How Bilingual Brains Perceive Time Differently - Duration: 3:09.

That was a really good clap.

Good job, Amy.

Des que j'ai deux ou trois ans, ma mere ma parlee en Francais.

Dann im universitet, ich habe fur drei Jahren Deutsche gelernt… aber Ich benutze es nicht…

In researching bilingual brains, that is, how brains work when someone speaks more than

one language fluently, scientists have found there are differences.

Bilingual brains activate in different ways depending on the language they're speaking,

and and also demonstrate incredible cognitively flexibility, switching back and forth between

languages in a phenomenon called code-switching.

And a new study has found an interesting link between language and time: the language you

think in can impact the way you perceive time.

Every language has its specific vocabulary for organizing the world around us, but when

it comes to time, there are two general categories this is done: distance, as in crossing an

area, and volume as in a space being filled.

Swedish and English both use physical distances to express a measure of time.

In English we'd say "a short break" or "a long wedding."

We use these descriptive terms as though the passage of time is a measurable distance.

In Greek and Spanish on the other hand, time is marked with terms that refer to volume.

In Spanish you'd say "a small break" or "a big wedding."

So the question the researchers had was whether people who think about time with distance

or volume measurements have a better sense of how much time has passed.

To measure this, they had Swedish-Spanish bilinguals watch a line grow across a screen

or watch a container being filled, the first a measure of time as distance and the second

a measure of time as volume.

And in each instance the subject was given a prompt in one of the two languages — 'duración'

in Spanish or 'tid' in Swedish.

The results showed that subjects perceived time as it's measured in the language of

their prompt.

When given the Spanish prompt, participants estimated time based on volume, in this case

how full the containers were.

When they were given the Swedish prompt they could better estimate time as distance, using

the line's travel as a marker.

So this might not matter to any of us on a day to day basis, but it's interesting to

have some scientific evidence pointing to how much language impacts the way we perceive

something universal, the passage of time.

And we even found this in our office!

Maybe it's because I've been exposed to multiple languages.

When I think of a big wedding I think of a lot of people and a long night.

But other people in our office only think about the number of attendees.

Language, it seems, can creep in and affect our most basic senses, from emotions to perception

and, apparently, time.

Which means it's possible that learning a new language could change the way you experience

the world… which in itself is wild to think about.

Kate Middleton Asks The Queen A Personal Favor: Let Prince William Spend More Time At Home - Duration: 2:05.

Most women would probably like their husbands to work less and spend more time with their

families and Kate Middleton is no exception.

If a new report is to be believed, the Duchess of Cambridge has asked Queen Elizabeth II

to let Prince William spend more time with her and their children while Prince Harry

takes up additional royal duties.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the Queen has agreed to shift more duties Harry's way

because she wants Kate and William to "work out their differences and fix their fractured

marriage."

One of the rumors that has been plaguing the couple is that they are on the verge of splitting

up but at this point it's mere gossip that the duo is struggling in their relationship.

Harry has been very busy these days, so it appears as though he may be attending events

in William's stead.

He recently participated in the Walking With The Wounded 17 mile trek through Britain,

attended several World Rugby Cup matches, and gave a speech at the Well Child Awards.

Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were noticeably absent at the Rugby World

Cup reception at Buckingham Palace in which the Queen received a specially commissioned

participants' award.

Did Kate request that she and William skip the event to spend time with Prince George

and Princess Charlotte?

And if that's the case, is it such a bad thing?

But William isn't giving up all of his royal duties.

On Thursday, he paid tribute to his mother Princess Diana during an event for charity

Child Bereavement UK.

The royal couple is scheduled to attend the "Spectre" film premiere and the state dinner

for Chinese President Xi Jing later this month.

The couple is also visiting Scotland later to promote mental health in young people.

#AskKD // When is the best time to post on social media? - Duration: 4:40.

Hi everyone and welcome to the latest

edition of #AskKD. Today I'm

answering the question 'When is the best

time for me to post on social media? Now

I get asked this question quite

a lot, so I thought today I break this

down for you via platform and I'm going

to begin with Twitter. So for Twitter the

best times for you to post are weekdays

between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Now the

reason for this is that HootSuite

says that Twitter is most active at

3 p.m. and if you tweet in advance of

that time and have a few suggested posts

throughout the day to go towards 3 p.m.

then you're more likely to get

engagement and interaction. That is

how you're going to build your online

following and also get some click

throughs onto your website (hopefully) via

the content that you're tweeting. Now

some platforms do differ, so for example

Hubspot came to the conclusion that

12 p.m. and 3 p.m. are are really good

times, but what I would suggest that you

do is do some experimentation, do some

tweets between 12:00 and 3:00 on

weekdays and see what levels of

engagement that you actually get.

The second platform that I'm going to talk to

you about is Facebook - and the best time

to put more posts on Facebook are

between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m. on Monday,

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Now these

are the most active times on Facebook, so

I would suggest that, again, you

experiment with your posts, boost some, do

some live videos - see what works for you

on those days between those times and

see what levels of engagement that you

get. I would also take a look on

Saturdays and Sundays between 12:00 and

1:00 p.m. as that is particularly active

as well for your weekend audience. So you

can schedule some posts to go out at

that time do, some live videos, maybe

target them, your specific audience,

with an advert between those times and

see how you get on in terms of

engagement.

The third platform I'm going to talk to you

about today is Instagram. I would suggest

that you post between 12:00 and 1:00

p.m. on weekdays on Instagram that, way

you will capture audiences on their

lunch hours. The average lunch hours are

probably taken between 12:00 p.m.

and 2:00 p.m. so if you focus on 12:00

to 1:00 they're actually going to be

able to pick that up an hour later if

they do come on lunch at that point. But

the main thing to think of is lunchtime

weekdays is a great time for you to

pause for higher-level engagement.

I would also maybe have a look at 7:00

p.m. till 9:00 p.m. in the evening,

because a lot of people have a look on

Instagram

maybe whilst they're watching evening

TV or before they go to bed - so 7 p.m.

and 9 p.m. weekdays is an excellent

time also for you to post on Instagram.

The fourth and final platform I'm

going to talk to you about today is

LinkedIn. Now there are a few different

times of the day that you can capture

and maximise audience interaction on

LinkedIn and I would suggest that if

you're going to post on LinkedIn you

focus on between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m,

12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 till 7:00

p.m. now these three times that's

essentially are capturing your

professional audiences on their way to

work, on their lunch hour

and on their way home. Now as LinkedIn is

a professional networking site and it is

more b2b those are definitely the key

times for you to get the best possible

engagement for your posts. So I would

really focus on posting on LinkedIn

between those times and that will get

the best outcome for you and your

business. Thank you for watching this

edition of #AskKD, if you have

any questions you want me to answer,

please just comment on this video and I

will get back to you and answer them in

video form for you. Also if you want to

connect with me on Twitter I'm @KD_Comms

- come and ask me your

question online on Twitter and I will

get back to you via that also.

Thank you for watching and I'll see

you soon

WITH NEARLY ALL THESE CRASHES

HAVE IN COMMON IS WHAT TEXAS A

& M TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE

SAYS IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF

STRESS FOR DRIVERS.

MERGING.

IF YOU'RE IN A GROCERY STORE

LINE, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO CUT

IN FRONT OF SOMEBODY.

BUT WHEN YOU'RE IN A CAR, YOU

FEEL LIKE YOU CAN.

Reporter: THE TRANSPORTATION

INSTITUTE IS WORKING WITH TXDOT

AND LAW ENFORCEMENT TO REDUCE

MERGING STUDENTS.

-- MERGING OPPORTUNITIES.

BUT THESE HAVE NOT WORKED WITH

THE CONSTANT CONSTRUCTION.

THE BEST ADVICE IS TO LET IT

GO.

Reporter: FEW KNOW THIS

BETTER.

THESE WERE THE FLOWERS WE

PUT OUT HERE FOR HIS BIRTHDAY.

Reporter: THAN THE

CASPBEERS.

I COME OUT HERE TWO OR THREE

TIMES A WEEK AND SIT AND TALK

TO HIM.

THAT'S REALLY ALL I CAN DO.

NOW EVERY NIGHT WHEN BLAKE

WOULD GO TO BED, HIS FATHER

WOULD SAY, I LOVE YOU AND BLAKE

WOULD SAY I LOVE YOU MORE.

BLAKE'S FATHER SAYS WHEN HE IS

OUT DRIVING AND SOMEONE CUTS

HIM OFF THAT'S WHAT HE SAYS, I

LOVE YOU MORE.

I'M CURIOUS ON THE WHOLE

DEAL.

THE DRIVER WHO WAS INVOLVED

WITH BLAKE'S DEMISE ULTIMATELY.

DOES HE FACE ANY KIND OF

CHARGES.

YEAH HE DOES.

HIS 18-YEAR-OLD COUSIN WHO WAS

DRIVING ALONG WITH THAT 38-YEAR-

OLD DRIVER THEY BOTH FACE

CHARGES OF RACING CAUSING

DEATH.

THEY BOTH HAVE HEARINGS NEXT

MONTH.

SO FOR CLARITY IT'S THE

OTHER DRIVER AND THE DRIVER OF

BLAKE'S CAR.
