Video showing five Nigerian Policemen allegedly brutalized some motorcyclists In Anambra is

trending on social media.

The motorcyclists were believed to have been brutalized by the Policemen over some unknown

offenses.

There was earlier report that two armed motorcyclists last Wednesday killed a police officer and

made away with his AK47 riffle in Onitsha, Anambra.

The incident where motorcyclists killed a police man occurred barely three weeks after

a police inspector was killed at a road block at Ugwunwasike round-about, Ogidi near Onitsha.

THE HANDMAID'S TALE TV SHOW || REVIEW & DISCUSSION - Duration: 10:45.

Hey guys, it's Emily! For today's video

I'm doing a review / discussion of The

Handmaid's Tale TV show. So recently I

finished the book The Handmaid's Tale by

Margaret Atwood and I absolutely love

this book. I read this in high school and

then decided to reread it for the TV

show to kind of get it like fresh in my

mind and all that stuff, and I just

am blow away by this book, it's just

so, so good. This takes place in an

alternate history version of the United

States in which there is this aggressively

Christian, anti-woman regime in power and

because there is rampant infertility in

this society, certain women are rounded up

and then have to serve as handmaids in

the households of the elite, and that

means that they're essentially breeders.

They have to bear the children of these

elite families. And it's brutal and

terrifying and also grounded in quite a

bit of American history, and if you

haven't read this book I so, so, so

recommend it's... I read this in a day, even

though it's not a super short book.

Just read the book! It's so good! But I'm

not talking about the book, I'm talking

about the show, which I have enjoyed so

so much. I feel like "enjoy" is kind of the

wrong word, because it is deeply

unsettling and uncomfortable to watch. One of my

roommates was actually talking about it

and she was like, "I can't watch it alone.

It makes me so uncomfortable I can't

watch it alone." And I think that's like a

very true sentiment for the show. I have

been so blown away by it that I was

literally taking notes on my phone while

watching, which I I never do. I'm way too

lazy for that, I never do that that. I did

this for this! It's just so good. I think

this is going to be generally spoiler

free, so if you're worried about that,

don't be. Most of my notes aren't really

about plot points they're kind of about

film technique and things like that

because I'm a snob. One thing I really,

really, really wanted to talk about, which

is such an important part of the book,

but I think works better visually is the

visuals. So a lot of things are described

in the book: the regime itself, seeing

soldiers all over the place, the uniform

of the handmaid. All women and men in the

society have to wear a uniform

associated with their particular caste

in this regime. The wives mid wear teal

blue dresses and the Martha's have like

their outfit guys who chauffeur the rich

dudes around, they have their particular

outfit, and the handmaid's outfit is both

iconic and visually striking and so they

are supposed to

wear all read, this big shapeless shift

thing, and then they wear a bonnet.

but the bonnet, when they're outside, has

these things that are referred to as

wings, and it's this white like cone

kind of thing. They kind of show it on

the cover of the book, this is like one

person's interpretation of it. The

interpretation of it at the show works

so well visually. First of all the all red

like tent dress which is both oddly kind

of alluring. In this world that's very

black and white and shades of grey the

red stands out a lot, and yet it so

shapeless that it's this like weird sexy nun

thing going on, which is essentially kind

of what the handmaids are. They're not

supposed to be experiencing sexual

pleasure or anything like that they're

just supposed to exist for their womb

essentially, and yet they are obviously a

sexualized object, and so the red dress

really plays into that in a very

interesting way. But back to the wings

themselves. It makes for just such a good

filmmaking tool! Oh it's so good to watch!

The first of which is that because the

handmaids have this, it's supposedly

like protecting handmaids from other

people looking at them. The wings are

also an object of control because they

make it so that anytime a handmaid

moves her head you see the whole

movement because it's not just her eyes

moving around or things like that. She

can't do that because she can't see so

she has to move her whole head to see

things, and it automatically makes you as

a viewer realized how the main character

Offred, at how little control and freedom

she has literally when it comes to

looking at things. They do a lot of

really great close-up shots of Elisabeth

Moss who's the actors who plays Offred,

and the wings make this really great

framing device. And because of them they

make you, as a viewer, feel that

claustrophobia. You can see it cutting

off areas of the screen that you're used

to seeing when you do get a close-up

shot of a person, and so it immediately

makes you go like, "Oh I'm not seeing as

much as I should be seeing,"which puts

you directly in her shoes, and it's

just such a good bit of filmmaking. I

absolutely loved it. It also helps to

emphasize them being meek

because all handmaids are kind of supposed

to not be looking at anyone, like I said

earlier, and they're kind of supposed to

be like looking down. And again, because

of the structure of these wings you

literally get that like downward angle

as opposed to just their eyes being down

which you can't really see. You get a

strong silhouette of like them looking

down which emphasizes this position of

weakness of vulnerability and it is just

so good. The other thing is that the

regime itself is so much scarier in the

visual than in the book, for me anyway.

Because when you're reading it it's one

thing, but authoritarian regimes are

always so rooted in the visual. If you

think of those regimes as we know them

throughout history--look up Mussolini's

headquarters in Italy like for a crazy

visual. That's the real world. And then

you have all of the Nazi symbols which

are this instantly recognizable symbol

of terror and horror. A lot of people

don't know that like graphic design has

a very strong root in Soviet Russia, in

that regime, and so once again these are

all real world example of how autocratic

regimes do use the visual as an

important part of like establishing

themselves. And so to see those visuals

in the Republic of Gilead, which is the

name for this alternate US, you see a

couple like stage things and like a big

ol' symbol. It really drives home the fact

that this is a big old regime. The other

thing is you see in the background of

shots soldiers everywhere which makes

you as a viewer automatically kind of

on alert. You know you're automatically

in that in that zone of stress that

something could go wrong. When you're

reading a book it's first person from

Offred's perspective, and so if she isn't

actively describing a soldier walking by

you aren't seeing that so to speak. But

in a wide shot you are seeing that every

single time, and so we're seeing the

military presence that are an added

stress and pressure and fear added on to

our main protagonist's everyday life.

Another thing I was so unbelievably

impressed with--in the book it kind of

goes back and forth between Offred in

her present tense when she's living in

this regime but it also talks about the

past and one distinction that I noticed

is that when she's in her present

there's an emphasis

on describing objects, and there's a kind

of tactility to the world around her,

which i think is a dual, or triple,

purpose, maybe. Number one it sets a

distinction in the language used in the

past and in the present. The second is

that it's an emphasis on objects because

Offered herself has been reduced to an

object--she is nothing more than her

ability to bear children. And then three,

I think it serves as a kind of reminder

of reality.

So when Offred's talking about objects

it's kind of this like, this is a chair

this is a table, these are all real

things, this is real life. So it's a kind

of reality check that this horror,

this, this unbelievable reality, is in

fact real. And so I was kind of curious

if they would play around with that in

the show and they do in a really

interesting way! And the way they do that,

at least it's my opinion of why they're

doing this, they have a million and a half

shots of just hands touching objects, so

grabbing oranges or touching a banister--

things like that. It's just essentially a

disembodied hand touching stuff. And that

is such a wonderful visual

interpretation of the language of the

book! I live for that stuff! I just

love it! And then the other thing that

they do is with the music. They play

around with music in a really, really

interesting way. I should say I am four

episodes in at this point and so I've

seen enough, because they do it a little

bit in the first episode, but they do it

a lot more in later episodes. They have

the dystopian noise, which is, you

see it in like The Hunger Games in The

Dark Knight, and any movie that kind of

has a dystopian feel to it even if it

isn't outright dystopia, where it's just

like some kind of synthetic, like, "MEEEEHHHHH"

in the background. That was kind of a weird

noise, but like do you know what I'm talking about!

There's that noise and they play it

kind of over and they play around with

it but it's just like menacing foghorn

kind of thing. And so they have that and

it is very disconcerting and it makes

you uncomfortable and on edge, but they

also have a lot of contemporary music.

Not even necessarily from the 2000s,

just very recognizable music. It has that

same function of reminding us that this

is reality even if it's a distorted reality.

A couple of times they take iconic songs

and like slow them down or distort them

in some way, so it's like this is

recognizable and you've distorted it. I love

that because the music and the score is

so clearly not an afterthought. I was

talking to one of my friends about this

because in the book they basically say

that people of color are kind of shipped

off out of the regime and you don't

really see them and instead the

showrunners decided to cast people of

color in roles that were originally

white, and I think that's really

interesting. And I think A. Samira Wiley! I

love Samira Wiley! She's so incredibly

watchable. Like you know that there's

like good actors, but for some reason

they just kind of piss you off, you don't

know why? Samira Wylie is is not, she's

like the opposite of that. She's a great

actress who also I just like

watching. I am excited whenever she's on

screen. And my friend and I were talking

that we're so glad that they kind of

sacrificed the the "accuracy" elements as

opposed to sacrificing visual diversity.

Just overall I'm, I'm so into the show

I am so into this show. It is

unbelievably good. It's really bleak, like

very bleak, and very scary, and very

unsettling. The Savaging scene, which

doesn't mean anything unless you've read

the book or seen the show, is one of the

scariest things I've seen in a really

long time. Like just disturbing and it's

so well shot and it doesn't actually

show like violence in any way and yet it

is so visceral and feels very violent

without showing it, which I'm like, the

skills to do that! UGH! It's

so good! I'm repeating this over and

over and over--it's just so good. If you

have not seen The Handmaid's Tale change

that because it's the best show I've

seen in years.

copper pan tired of food sticking to the

fan we try to scrape it and then you

scratch it you may as well trash it not

anymore

hi chef Daniel green here we've got them

steel I actually bought the entire set

because I'm such a big fan of the copper

pans the newest technology in nonstick

cookware maybe ceramic and super strong

titanium but I still believe that the

best copper pan available today is the

red copper pan which is my absolute

favorite

I have it right here in front of me you

guys know I love this thing for those of

you guys who have recently left me

comments about an update video I don't

know that I should make an entire video

on an update when I have nothing to

update other than it's still brand

spankin new I use it two to three times

a week and I've had for over six months

and it's still beautiful we're going to

see if this guy will beat out my red

copper pan and I'm kind of hoping it

will so I have a whole set that I love I

don't know what I'm going to do with all

these fans if I don't love them

I'm still going to use them I guess this

is a 10 T set they all say the same

sister so we have this thing so that we

can pour it out and see if there's any

clumps and then we'll really know if

this thing is a hit or not let's give it

wouldn't buy this because you can blend

eggs in it but I might buy it for

protein shape it's like it don't work

okay you would sprinkle in some like

palm pepper okay let's see ready I see

that well I don't know I feel like the

eggs are a little too heavy

oh that's not very powerful I mean it's

blending them but it's not very powerful

so like they're not going to be sure

like they're not going to be I was too

joined hey magic guy look look it's

still winning and I'm not touching it

how did I do that I never want to do

that okay so you can just put it down

some specifics I could just put it down

the copper chef copper tray crisper

trays whatever it is so I'm about to

open this and I'm $55 they're the exact

same tray but I have a little twist for

you guys today while I was shopping for

this I actually purchased this at

Walmart

I'm not Amazon this time but while I was

at Walmart right underneath the Shelf

where this one was stacked guess what I

found this cheap crisper tray

this cost me $5.99 so we're going to put

them up against each other we're going

to put up the copper crisper buy copper

chef's 1999 up against this Wilton bass

bit better oven crisper trays

not copper it's black but I bet they do

the same thing by me nice for $19.99

I've had my oven preheating it is not it

425 degrees today we're going to do

french fries again just like we did with

the Gotham steel crisper tray

just so that we can also compare it back

to that guy remember that did not work

too well all right you guys ready you

that this one didn't claim that this one

just said it'll crisp up your food I

have a bag of fries right here let me go

rinse these off and what we started okay

both trays and I actually think this one

copper crisper comes with this handy

nonstick copper chef's cooking sheet

tiny that is compared to this one so

which one has more space for more fries

ding-ding-ding-ding-ding yeah so I bet

this one works better because monkey

can't get in there this one like a baby

a little baby family can use that okay

so here is some fries okay one handful

hand for that guy I got overfill we're

gonna have to face the amount of what

we're going to put in both of them based

on this little baby little tray I want

to put the same amount in both but this

one has limited space and then they're

going to go in the oven 30 minutes

that's what I did last time

30 I think it was pretty sure 30 minutes

in the oven I'm saying they're about

even now I want to put too many in this

guy because don't think it's going to

work anyway so here's what we have guys

bigger tray they do have the same amount

where them out evenly okay we're going

to put it in the oven and we will be

back in 30 minutes

have they don't look horrible I think

they both need a little bit more time in

looks like I have more fries that are

cooked than this guy does the trays are

still steaming hot I don't know why I

just took my gloves off let's put the

glove back on and then try to cut one of

these suckers in half to see if they're

raw or undercooked okay here's a good

one

right perfect

it could be a little bit crispier if you

like them like that I like them nice and

meaty but these are definitely cooked

now let's grab one from the copper tray

okay really mmm these are crispy err

can't hear it but they're definitely

the ones that I have grabbed from the

copper tray are just as cooked as the

ones from the black Wilton tray but the

ones in the copper tray are definitely

crispy er I don't know if it's the

concentration for Miko it's helping to

surprise it crispier the secret is the

elevated nonstick mesh tray allows

needed air to pass through and circulate

around all 360 degrees of your food this

one obviously doesn't have a tray

underneath I'm going to have to say that

the copper pan definitely made crispy

the hell is it ceramic lined cup and I

thought how am I going to test this

because it claims that it can hold hot

drinks for eight hours and cold drinks

for twelve we know that there are 50,000

of those tumblers going around that is a

hot thing now and this red copper

company decided that they're just going

to jump on that bandwagon as well so I

thought how am I going to test this Cup

besides put it in the fridge or leave a

hot drink in it for eight hours I

thought let's put it up against the

company that started this whole craze

and that is the Yeti Cup so today I'm

gonna

in copper mug against the yen tumbler

against tumbler meaning this guy is $35

I think I paid for him

this guy was 1999 what do you guys think

to be honest I'm not even sure about

this guy how am I going to test both of

these guys add this little thermometer

where I can stick it in the liquid and

we get it keeps track of the temperature

in both of the cup I'm going to fill

both of the cups with boiling hot water

I'm going to check the temperature

before we begin I'm going to put them in

the refrigerator to kind of speed up the

cooling process and then I'm going to

check back in about 30 minutes so that

we can see which one cool down faster

and did you know that farm work does not

fail Yeti they're not allowed I do not

know that

one is way taller than the other which I

at the bottom the Yeti doesn't have like

this little touching which is really

cool so it like locks into place where

you can't tumble it over I think that's

pretty cool if you look and present what

see it won't tumble over look this way

we're still at 162 old and steady

beautiful okay let's check the Yeti what

it held up to the $35 Yeti cup that is

hiked up so much and it's so expensive

and they don't even sell it at one month

7 TV Show Casts That Couldn't Stand Each Other - Duration: 5:41.

Television shows may seem like a lot of fun to film when you're watching them from the

couch, but in certain cases, they can be an absolute torture.

The shows on our list dealt with everything from feuds between cast members to unfortunate

homophobic slurs.

Grey's Anatomy

In October 2006, co-stars Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington reportedly got into

a harsh exchange of words while filming a scene on the set of Grey's Anatomy.

The fight became even more serious as stories broke of Washington allegedly using a homophobic

slur in reference to gay co-star, T.R.

Knight.

Washington denied the reports and responded to questions about the feud with some serious

aggression.

In the end, Washington was fired from the show and Knight later told Ellen DeGeneres

that this hate-filled event actually inspired him to officially come out to the world.

But that wouldn't be the last time real world drama unfolded on the set of Grey's Anatom.

After Washington was fired from the show, the set had a new villain to contend with:

co-star Katherine Heigl.

The actress created tension beyond the extreme when she publicly removed herself from Emmy

consideration the year after she won the award, blaming the writers for not giving her enough

good material to work with.

Rumors that she was a diva on set and difficult to work with continued right up until she

left the show about a year and a half later.

The show's creator Shonda Rhimes has since implied that it was Heigl who inspired her

"no a**holes" policy on the set of her follow-up hit, Scandal.

Rhimes even went so far as to say "There are no Heigl's in this situation…I don't put

up with bulls*** or nasty people.

I don't have time for it."

Glee

In 2014, it was reported that Glee co-stars Naya Rivera and Lea Michele got into a serious

tiff while filming an episode of their hit musical-comedy series.

No one really knows what the fight was about, but those close to Rivera have said that the

actress was ticked off over Lea Michele's diva-like behavior on set, and even went to

the producers to complain.

When Michele found out about these complaints, she apparently stormed off in a fit...not

diva like behavior at all.

However, Michele's sources claim that pretty much the exact opposite happened — so who

really knows?

The feud looked to be all over...until Naya Rivera reignited it when she brought up old

Glee cast drama in her 2016 memoir Sorry Not Sorry.

Michele was publically upset by this as she says she's been trying to move on with her

life and only remember the good things about Glee.

Moonlighting

If you were to look up the term "Miserable TV Set" in the Hollywood dictionary, odds

are good that Moonlighting would pictured next to the definition.

The '80s dramedy, starring Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, was full of tension from

day one and lasted until the very end of the show's fifth and final season.

The biggest problem: Willis' blossoming film career, as the actor's focus clearly shifted

away from the show when his star began to rise with the success of Die Hard.

"He silently promises himself, his mother, and his god, that no matter how big he becomes,

he's never, ever going to change."

Focus and effort are one thing but Willis also apparently threw a very loud and violent

tantrum on set after the production schedule threatened to cut into his personal plans.

Unfortunately, this story definitely isn't one of a kind for Willis, as he's been described

as aggressive and difficult to work with on more than one occasion.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith even called working with the actor "Soul Crushing" and then proceeded

to use some less than friendly language to describe the actor.

Maybe Hans Gruber had the right idea after all...

American Idol

During a 2012 audition episode, newly minted American Idol judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah

Carey entered a war of words after disagreeing about a contestant's performance.

Footage of the disagreement showed Minaj firing a number of insults at Carey and the self

proclaimed Queen of Rap definitely didn't hold back on the expletives.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Carey and Minaj both quit American Idol after just

one season.

In 2015, Carey reflected on her one-season stint on the show, calling it the worst experience

of her life.

"It was like hell.

Going to work every day in hell, with Satan."

Desperate Housewives

In 2005, at the peak of the success of ABC's primetime soap, Desperate Housewives, the

show's cast reportedly got into a fight at a shoot for the cover of Vanity Fair.

Apparently, ABC told Vanity Fair that Teri Hatcher couldn't get first dibs on wardrobe

or take over the shoot, suggesting that the rest of the cast wasn't happy with her behavior

on set.

When the day of the shoot came, Hatcher arrived to the set early, which set off a chain in

events that allegedly ended with Marcia Cross storming off the shoot and Hatcher crying

on the phone.

The fun didn't stop there, as the feud between Hatcher and the rest of the Desperate Housewives

cast reportedly continued throughout the show's seven-season run...but that's not all.

In 2010, Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan sued ABC for wrongful termination

and battery after claiming she was hit in the head by the show's creator, Marc Cherry,

and then written off the show for complaining about the incident.

The suit went to trial in 2012, during which Cherry testified that he tapped Sheridan on

the head and that the tap was only done to help demonstrate how Sheridan's scene should

play out.

A judge ultimately declared a mistrial after the jury became deadlocked and Sheridan has

been fighting for a retrial ever since.

As an aside, Cherry's testimony also seemed to confirm Hatcher's feud with the rest of

the cast as he recalled stories of how the actress would routinely get into scuffs with

her co-stars.

"You know, use the way you guys actually feel about each other.

And go!"
