Youtube daily what Aug 24 2017

hey guys! welcome to today's video. I am answering a question that I got inside

of my photo boss Facebook group which, by the way, you can join for free right now

via the link description below. the question was "what do I do during my

off season" how am I marketing my business? and

growing my business how am i attracting I do clients during my offseason and

that's the question I'm gonna answer for you guys today I thought this was a

perfect topic for today's video so I'm going to be covering some of the things

I do personally and that I recommend you also do as well during your off season

despite how it sounds my offseason is actually one of my busiest times of year

while I don't have as many weddings or gigs on my calendar I am spending a lot

more time educating myself and planning out what the rest of the year is gonna

look like taking care of things on the business end when I think of the busy

season versus my offseason I kind of picture a swimmer I'm into my lane my

head is down I'm working really hard in hustling during the on season the

offseason is my time to come to the surface to take a breather to kind of

look around and take stock and figure out what's been working what hasn't been

working and what needs a little bit more attention in my business the number one

thing I'm doing during my offseason that I highly recommend you also be doing and

your offseason is marketing you should always be marketing yourself but the

offseason is particularly a good time because you just have more of it a few

ways that I go ahead and market myself our blogging shoots that I may not have

had time to blog earlier in the year when I was having back-to-back weddings

so I go back in my archives and I make sure that I take some time to blog these

images taking special care to tag vendors and let them know so that

there's a potential reshoring going on the next thing I do is submit my work so

that I can be featured so this all falls under the marketing category the next

step that I take in the marketing of my business is to map out the next six

months following my offseason now regardless of when your offseason is

calendar maybe it's in the winter maybe it's in this summer depending on what

time zone or climate you live in it could be the opposite of mine but odds

are you will have a time that is kind of more of a lull in your booking and that

is your offseason this is the perfect time to dive in and look at the

potential promotions that you might have it coming up in the next few months you

can go ahead and take a look at your calendar and see if you're happy with

the number of bookings that you have or if you need some areas that need a

little extra attention so you have a marketing plan you've gotten your blog

updated the next thing I like to do is update my website this is something that

does not get done very often just because of how time-consuming it is

after I've gone through and blogged some of those weddings and tagged some of

those vendors I now have new images that I'd like to showcase in my portfolio

take those images and update your website the next thing you'll want to do

in your off season is take some time to network and this doesn't have to be a

big scary thing where you go into a conference center with your business

cards and it's a little bit anxious kind of situation it doesn't have to be like

that what I like to do is find some really cool people and Instagram send

them a message and see if they like to grab coffee I like to network with other

people in the wedding industry but that are not in my same field under that same

umbrella of networking this is also a great time to do some venue walkthroughs

if there's a venue that you've been wanting to work at this is a great time

to contact them go meet them have a face-to-face and walk through the space

so you've updated your website you've updated your blog you have all this new

work it's time to send some of that work to your favorite vendors so go ahead and

create some smaller galleries and gift that to your favorite vendors

potentially they will share those images it's also keeping you top of mind for if

they ever need a photographer the next thing I want you to do during your next

offseason is review your workflows how is that onboarding process for brides

and grooms how is it when somebody inquires with you are you writing the

same emails a lot or do you have that system down now if you haven't thought

about what your workflows in a while check out this series I did I think five

or so videos I also include a free pdf and lots of bonus material and it's all

available here on YouTube so if you check out that series I think it's

really to help you to tighten up those systems

make sure that you're not wasting time here and there throughout the year that

really really add up to really getting into your productivity I want to

encourage you during your offseason to be sure to take some time to get read

inspired travel read a book do something that gets you back to you and maybe dive

into some personal work even if you're playing around with film or kind of

diving into Photoshop or doing something completely different than your normal

wedding workflow I think you can just refresh you as an artist the final tip

that I have for you guys is to educate yourself educating yourself and taking

it online class or reading a book you're really staying sharp you're honing your

skills you're continuing to learn and you're making sure that you don't get

fuzzy in some areas that maybe you could use some work so one thing that I do

that I think might be interesting for you guys to try is I create a to-do list

and I keep it somewhere like inside of my planner or somewhere that I won't

lose it where I have what's called my offseason to-do list

and essentially I create a list of things that I would like to get done

when I have more time so what's cool is when the offseason rolls around and it's

February I can look at a list that I made and maybe June when I was really

busy with weddings and I wanted to work on certain projects but I couldn't now

at that time in my offseason I can look at the list and I can decide whether or

not I should do it or whether I should mix it but it's just nice to have that

list and know that I'm keeping it and gathering it throughout the year those

are my tips for growing your business during the offseason I would love to

hear what you all do if you have some similar tips or something completely

different share it in the comments down below I

would love to hear from you you guys next week bye guys

What do RAINDROPS have in common with LANGUAGE LEARNING? - Duration: 1:33.

hi what do droplets of rain have to do with language learning

this is Susan Brodar from SPEAK Languages & TRAVEL the World here to

help you improve your English with minimum effort and maximum benefit yes

what do droplets of War two have to do with language learning

well one drop is absolutely nothing but if it drips and drips and drips you'll

fill a sink and if it rains droplets it will fill the sea and lakes and you'll

have an ocean so very small drops if you put them all together make very big

things the same goes for language learning all you need is a few minutes a

day to practice just a few I usually recommend 10 minutes a day and if you

add them up by the end of the week by the end of the month by the end of the

year you'll have learned a lot of English and the regular practice is much

more effective than just practicing once a week so remember a few minutes a day

and you'll improve your English incredibly especially if you practice

your speaking you'll become really really fluent but only a few minutes a

day every day don't forget practice a little bit every

day and that's all for today I

North Korean state media shows photo of what appears to be regime's latest SLBM & ICBM - Duration: 1:39.

Fresh new image from the regime appears to be boasting of its techncal capabilities,...

showing the new submarine-launched ballistic missile on the regime's state-run media.

This,... after its leader Kim Jong-un ordered for more production of rocket engines and

nuclear warheads for ballistic missiles at a chemicals research institute

Watchers say this could be an indirect message that the regime could test fire the missile

soon.

Kim Hyo-sun reports.

North Korea's state-run media has shown a photo of what is presumed to be a new submarine-launched

ballistic missile, called the Pukguksong-3.

It's the first time the regime has revealed information about its new SLBM.

The media outlet also revealed information about its new intercontinental ballistic missile,...

what looks like the Hwasong-13.

The same photos were shown behind North Korean leader Kim Jong-un,... as he visited a chemicals

research institute to observe and learn about the process of manufacturing ICBMs.

Kim ordered the institute to expand the production of both rocket warhead tips and solid-fuel

rocket engines,... required for ballistic missiles launched from submarines.

As the U.S.-based North Korea monitoring website, 38 North recently said satellite images show

Pyongyang could be preparing for a new SLBM launch,... pundits say the photo can be perceived

as an indirect message that its test launch could be imminent.

The regime launched the Pukguksong-1 in August last year,... and the Pukguksong-2 earlier

this year.

Experts say both missiles used solid fuel rocket engines.

What is BINGE WATCHING? | Is Binge Watching Bad? - Duration: 7:01.

It was around 11 P.M. when I casually opened my YouTube app on my mobile phone to watch

trending section before I go to bed.

I could see a cute dog protecting baby video on my YouTubes app home page and I decided

to watch it.

I always wanted a German Shepherd and I really liked the video featuring different breeds

of dogs who were being a good guard and were protecting babies.

Before I could finish that video, I saw just another one in recommendations where some

big dogs were protecting babies.

It was even more fascinating and I jumped over to that video.

These dogs were huge and they were so adorable.

They were playing around with kids and were even protecting them when needed.

Now, since I always wanted a German Shepherd, I started wondering if this breed is good

with babies.

So, I searched for videos where specifically German Shepherd breed dogs were protecting

babies.

And guess what, I got tons of videos where these dogs were playing with kids and attacking

anyone who was trying to come near the kid.

Now before I was done with a few of these videos, I came across a video where dogs were

dancing with their masters.

I quickly jumped to that video and I will have to admit that it was an awesome show.

It certainly would have taken a lot of hard work and training for that dance show.

This made me wonder if I can train my future dog in the same way.

I started watching videos on how to train a puppy and came across many new concepts

like Obedience training, potty training and much more.

I kept researching and came to know about dog food, how to keep them in an apartment,

or is it safe to leave a dog alone for a long er duration if I live alone and many more

topics.

After a lot of research, I decided that I will buy a book which I felt had all the dog

related information which I needed.

I was satisfied and ready to sleep.

It was 4 in the morning!!

I missed my gym the following day and even missed my breakfast as I was sleeping till

late.

This was me about a year back and I still dont own a German Shepherd.

So, does this ring any bell?

Are you able to relate to it?

This is what happens when we try to decide on a new phone, or when we get a new TV series

to watch.

We keep on consuming media from different sources and we dont even know that we have

been engaged with it for hours.

Now since we do it every now and then, we develop this habit of watching videos or TV

series or maybe playing Fifa continuously, wasting our precious time and we get addicted

to it.

This is what we call as Binge Watching.

Not only you spend a significant amount of time in it, you also stress out your brain

and your eyes.

In normal circumstances, humans blink around 18 times per minute but while staring at the

screen, this rate decreases drastically causing tired and sore eyes.

In children, however, simply spending extended hours indoors can have developmental effects.

A condition called Myopia where eyes cant focus on distant objects is seen much more

frequently in children who spend more time indoors.

They always look at nearby objects and screens while they should be looking at landscapes

and distant objects as well.

While some of us think that watching TV relaxes us a bit, it might not always be true.

If we go back in the 1970s, televisions used to emit harmful X-rays with radiation level

100,000 times higher than what's considered safe today.

Although TVs are very eye friendly today, extended watching is one of the main causes

of obesity.

Studies have shown that people watching TV are more likely to have junk food and are

less likely to burn calories, on the other hand, people who read books are more likely

to engage with physical exercises and burn more calories.

Watching any video or TV series before you go to bed is also hurting you.

You get less hour of quality sleep which contributes to chronic sleep debts.

It also affects other bed time activities.

Researchers have shown that those who watch more than 20 hours of TV a week have on average

of 44% reduction in sperm.

Moreover, you tend to think about stuff like is Dragon Queen gonna fall in love with Jon

Snow and it tires your brain for no good reason.

One of the most significant effects it has on us is that it reduces our life span.

People who spend more time in front of a screen are more likely to get diabetes or some kind

of heart disease.

Now when I say TV, I also mean computer screens, mobile devices and any other screen which

you keep looking at continuously.

I know many people work in IT industry and they have to look at screens for more than

8 hours a day but if you look closely, you would have noticed that most of the problems

are caused due to inactivity of the body while watching TV screens.

So what can we do to prevent all the bad effects of Binge Watching?

1.

The first and foremost thing is we should never sit continuously for more than an hour.

If you are in office, maintain your seating posture and get up from your chair every hour

to roam around the office premises.

Drink water and then come back to work again.

You can also do light rotation exercises while you get up from your chair.

This way you are preventing prolonged watching as you are breaking the streak.

2.

The second most important thing is to blink.

In case you don't remember to blink, keep a silent alarm after every 45 minutes and

every time it goes off, blink continuously for a minute.

You can even go outside and look at sceneries to relax your eyes and exercise it.

3.

The third important thing is to exercise.

It becomes even more important if you are working in an IT industry.

Exercising keeps you fit and healthy.

While you might be developing many problems while sitting for a prolonged duration of

time in-front of a screen, exercising can reduce stress and can help you keep fit.

You avoid junk food and you tend to eat healthy, which again is a very good thing for your

body.

So, a regular exercise can be a lifesaving habit if you are in a job where you need to

sit in-front of your monitor.

4.

The fourth important thing is to never watch TV or mobile screens before you got to bed.

You tend to overdo it at night time as you are relaxed and your brain is fed with different

media that you consumed, lowering the quality and time of sleep.

No wonder why many of us get horrible and disturbing dreams very frequently.

5.

Another important thing can be to meditate regularly to avoid any kind of stress or anxiety.

It helps you keep calm and has many other benefits.

In case you wanna know about the benefits of meditation and how to meditate, you can

check out my video on meditation by clicking here.

6.

And lastly, try to stay away from these screens.

Most of us are already spending more than 8 hours in front of the computer screen at

the office and spending another hour watching TV or mobile screen is not something I would

recommend.

I know it's hard to cut down the time as we are addicted to binge watching but it can

be shortened by practising meditation and exercising every single day.

Its your body which is your most prized possession, so take good care of it.

So that's it for this video guys.
