hey everyone it's Alexis from Sims VIP I hope you're all doing well so welcome to

another Sims 4 news bit video now before I begin I've on you just wanna let you

guys know that I've put some towels around my microphone this time so

hopefully it doesn't sound as equity as the last video I am actually traveling

and the place I'm at is not really good for recording with that said today we're

catching up on the latest news from the sims 4 so let's jump in first up let's

catch up with the sims Mobile so the trick-or-treat Halloween event is

available for a limited time giving players 10 days to complete the

necessary steps that will reward them with the final Mystics table reward this

event also grants candy corn for completing every day and event related

tasks and is the required currency to purchase the various new halloween

create a sim and build and buy items to check out a step-by-step guide on

completing this quest head over to sims VIP calm next up let's check out what's

coming with the next game patch I know we've all been waiting for this and the

time has come so with all the new information released from the sims 4 get

famous Sims camp event last week many of the attendees gave us information

regarding the upcoming November game patch let's go ahead and recap on all

the goodies that are coming to our game soon first is terrain manipulation now

the sims team already confirmed this feature some time ago but we now have

some additional info bits from attendees some of what is mentioned is that Sims

will be able to go uphill if the terrain isn't too steep and after having some

hands-on time with the actual tools they have stated that the tools are pretty

easy to use next is the style influencer career this is yet another feature that

they announced some time ago and this new career will allow sims to work from

home or head off into a rabbit hole next is a revamped game tutorial so polish

fansite Dotson confirm that the sims 4 will be receiving a brand new game

tutorial that includes a narrator who dives deep into the features of the game

now this option can be turned off at any time and it will greet you at the start

self-employment now the way this works is Sims will select the new register

with Ministry of Labor interaction on their cell phone and then they can fill

in the blanks on this pop-up that appears there's no specific skills or

actions that are tied to these careers but it does allow your sims to freelance

and not be labeled as unemployed next is the world selection menu that we talked

about in the last video so push fan site dot sim confirm that the world selector

menu is getting a much needed upgrade as well the world icons are gonna be

decreased in size and a while for a better overview of the worlds and last

but not least something new now dot sim has also indicated that the Sims team

will be adding another new feature to the game with the patch but we're not

gonna know what that is until Maxis reveals it during the next Maxis monthly

livestream on November 6 now speaking of this secret something

during the first official get famous livestream last week sim gurus went into

live mode and quickly closed out a challenge pop-up similar to those that

are seen in the past with Jasmine Holliday now it's unknown what this

challenge is gonna bring to the game but we do know that it's at least 40 days

long and it's called the quote positivity challenge now it's unclear

whether this is what that special something dot sim was talking about so

we'll just have to wait and see when this thing is gonna end up in the game

now last but not least since Sims News is an update to the ball pit that was

released last year with the sims 4 toddler stuff so when the sims 4 Tyler

stuff was released one of the biggest issues for many players was the visual

appearance of the functional ball pit now just a few weeks after it was

released Maxis released the game patch to address the flat texture and improve

that they felt was important to adjust as you can see this issue caused the

item to be reconstructed in order to ship without causing issues for players

so we never did get the original plan for the jungle gym but at least sim guru

granth took the time to share some background on what happened with that

ball pit he then concluded on Twitter with a few tweets stating the following

as I touched on in the interview we had some ambitious goals for this path as we

work through technical implementation challenges work between various

disciplines was getting out of sync resulting in an object that didn't

really behave the way you'd expect you in a sin looking back I learned

important lessons that made me a stronger producer moving for chiefly

making a difficult decision that burdens the team but is ultimately necessary for

our players doesn't absolve us if that results in quality control slipping

elsewhere ultimately I am happy that we were able to patch it quickly to get

everyone more balls and quite proud of the team for rallying around the

requested changes to make something even better so at least we were able to get

the real story behind what happened with the awful texture of this ball pit be

Saw Blades & Router Bits Sharpening Jig - Duration: 9:13.

After several months of use, all of my table saw blades need to be sharpened.

After cutting this piece of maple wood, you can see that I need to push it too hard and the cut isn't

as clean and accurate as it should be.

Because of the price of the blades I normally use, there is no point in having them sharpened,

because it would cost nearly as much as the blades themselves.

For that reason, I bought three or four of the same blades every time I needed to have a sharp one,

but now that all of them are dull and I don't want to keep buying blades, I've thought about making a

jig to sharpen them at home.

I've attached a diamond wheel to an angle grinder.

At first I thought I might be over-revving it,

but after a few tests it seems to be working as intended.

I've also used two drawer slides for more accurate movement.

I took the size of my blades into account when designing it, and the same jig will allow

me to sharpen blades ranging from 165mm to 300mm, which are the biggest I own.

I've also developed an attachment for this jig to sharpen my router bits, but since this is a rather

long process, I'll make another video to explain it.

I'm planning on sharpening wood and metal

bits with this jig, and at some point down the line I'll definitely try to develop another

attachment for that.

I'm going to show you how to use the blade sharpening jig.

First we have to clean the blades with industrial degreaser and a brush.

By doing this, our blades will cut better,

but if we only do this, the blades will wear out too quickly.

Now we mount the blade on the jig. I've used this adapter that comes with the blades as

an axis. I screw in this knob as a safety measure, ensuring the blade won't pop off the jig.

Thanks to this slot I can adjust the diamond grinding wheel according to the

incline of the teeth of each blade.

The jig also has a depth stop, which speeds up the sharpening process and makes the jig safer.

The last step is to calibrate the blade rotation stop.

I made it with a metal shelf support pin.

Thanks to this set-up, the grinding disk will grind down all the teeth evenly,

improving the sharpening process.

Once the jig has been calibrated, we mark the first tooth to find out where to stop,

and little by little we sharpen the entire blade.

Although the blade teeth have several

sides with various angles, just sharpening the inner side is enough, which is what I'm doing.

It feels much sharper to the touch, but I'll do some cuts on this piece of maple

I've noticed this diamond disk is quite coarse and the teeth aren't as smooth and straight as I would have liked,

so I'm thinking of buying another diamond disk with finer grit to complete the sharpening process.

This jig will save me a lot of time and money!

There are also blades where the teeth have alternating incline patterns. In these cases

we can tilt the round piece on which we place the blades as needed, before screwing it to

the sliding table.

Then, we must sharpen every other teeth on the blade, and after that,

tilt the disc towards the other side and sharpen all the teeth we previously skipped.

Now let's take a look at how I made the jig.

First I print the templates, which I then glue to the plywood.

I drill all the holes with the column drill.

On the underside of the board I drill these holes which will be the ends of the rotation groove.

Using the plunge router, I make the curved rotation groove.

I'm going to use a carriage bolt so that it won't turn when tightening the knob.

I drill the rest of the holes on the jig's base and place the necessary threaded inserts.

Now I'll make the piece where the angle grinder will go.

I'll also use a printable template in this case so that it's easier to machine.

I fasten the screw that will act as a pivot,

and even though you can't see it in the video, I'll use a self-locking nut here.

I'm going to glue a small piece of plywood to act as a separator for the angle grinder,

and make sure the grinder's wheel is properly aligned with the base of the jig,

because this depends on the head of the angle grinder itself.

If it is not a perfect 90º angle,

we can easily make up for it thanks to the part I just attached.

After joining the two plywood parts with glue, I cut a slot where I'll place a hose clamp,

which will hold the angle grinder better.

With the band saw I cut a semi-circle where

I'll place the body of the angle grinder.

I make the final adjustments by hand and with a file.

I screw the piece in and put the angle grinder in its place.

Now I'll make the sliding table. I cut all of its parts and glue them together.

With the band saw, I cut a round part where the blades I need to sharpen will go.

I drill all the holes, and screw it to the sliding table.

I screw both drawer slides to the bottom ofthe sliding table.

Before moving on, I screw in a small part that will serve as a depthstop.

Now I find the exact position to screw

in the slides to the base of the sharpening jig.

With a piece of plywood, I'll make the part that will hold the blades on the sliding table.

With the 3D router, I machine the depth adjustment groove to this other piece of plywood.

Lastly, I will make the parts that will act as stops for the disc.

I cut an adjustment groove on this piece of ash I had in my workshop.

I finish machining it on the band saw

and I also make a piece where I'll put the shelf support pin to function as a stop for the disc.

you how I made an attachment to sharpen router bits with this jig.

the new drones coming with the game now drones are a new way to capture video

footage of Sims and then use the footage to edit and upload them to the Internet

sim grooves are gonna dive into the drones and their uses in the next get

famous livestream on November 2nd next up is a new developer video recorded by

Rachel bop while at Sims cam the 16 minute video features sim gurus giving

players a quick rundown of the various aspects of the Sims 4 get famous and

even includes a never-before-seen walkthrough video that should be

released sometime soon to check out the video in its entirety head over to

introduced with the Sims 4 get famous so there are several ways to become a

celebrity and as your Sims progress the more famous they become this celebrity

system is kind of a mix between vampire inks and character values Sims will

perform actions that will decrease their reputation increase their reputation or

keep them somewhere in the middle depending on which way they sway several

rewards and interactions will become available to them according to the menu

who played the game at Sims camp behavioral reputations can swing back

and forth or wane the acting career and media production skill will help your

Sims become famous and raise their celebrity level Sims that are aged child

and older can become famous but children will not be able to go past the 2 star

celebrity there are special interactions the game marked with Fame stars all of

which contribute towards celebrity status celebrity and fame is also

optional the sims 4 get famous will include an option for you to completely

turn off the fame system and as you could see in the image here there are

several Ray's you can play with this if you want your sim to become famous but

don't want other sims to gain Fame you can click the box and stop all Fame

progression now Sims outside of your current household will never gain Fame

and they will never lose Fame if you choose to play with other households

when you return to your savegame at a later date the sims will retain the same

level of fame wherever you left off you also

the option to completely remove your sins from celebrity status by using the

quick the spotlight celebrity panel interaction now the stage is where it

all happens Sims can work their way up from

commercials to movies and even become an icon Sims will begin their careers as

extras and then eventually earn their place in the leading role Sims who take

on the acting career will need an agency to represent them and get them into the

auditions now each agency has their own benefit

Sims can unlock additional benefits as they level up in their careers the

career panel will display information about gigs in addition Sims can choose

to work every single day or take time off here and there auditions and gigs

change every day so it's a good idea to check that list daily when performing

scene sims have the option to quote play it safe or quote play it risky now icons

in the career panel informs you which of them will help your Sims succeed during

performances The Sims 4 get famous also adds the new video production skill

that's tied into the video music production station this skill will allow

sims to unlock rewards along the way and is a skill that allows sims to create

videos and songs for upload and distribution Sims can also use

specialized streaming drones that capture video these videos can then be

brought back to the video station to create and upload videos to the Internet

once you level up your media production skill more songs and remix options will

unlock on the music station and more editing features unlock on the video

station as your Sims become more famous other sims will start to take note you

may spot some paparazzi following you around and fans approaching you to take

up your time your Sims will be able to even host celebrity meet and greet

events allowing you to select the timing day for the meet up once a Simba comes a

three star celebrity they can even use the mirror to put on a celebrity

disguise now the reputation of a celebrity Sims shapes how others will

interact or react to you there are seven levels of reputation atrocious awful bad

neutral good great and pristine Sims will form their reputation based on the

actions they take Sims will have to go out of the way in order to negatively or

positively change the reputation and whether good or bad behavior in most

cases it must be observed in order for it to count towards the Sims reputation

now Sims who are good will form stronger relationships Sims with a great

reputation will even be offered opportunities like drop offers that let

them start at higher career levels Sims with better reputation also have the

ability to form romantic relationships at higher

from the start sims will also receive a boost at social events earning rewards

quicker and easier Sims with a pristine reputation will unlock the ability to

host a charity benefit party this event unlocks new rewards as well friendships

will last much longer and Sims around you will have a positive reaction in

your presence now to the contrary sims with negative reputations will unlock

other types of rewards Sims with a bad reputation for example will have a hard

time making new friends however they won't get along just fine with other

Sims that have bad reputations or even the evil or mean trades Sims who are

awful might even get invited to attend a Lampoon party receive offers to become a

criminal or be introduced to others who are outcasts once a sim becomes

atrocious they can then host their own Lampoon party and choose who they will

roast making friends is usually hard with such a bad reputation but you can

also bribe other Sims for their friendship the reputation of a sim can

be affected by their fame the more famous is sim becomes the faster their

reputation can change there are also certain Fame perks that require a

positive or negative reputation to unlock so it may not be the worst thing

to be mean to a few people lastly a Sims reputation has never changed unless they

are a current member of the active household now on to celebrity perks as a

sim increases their celebrity level they will earn more Fame points fame points

can then be used to purchase fame perks which provide powerful benefits to

celebrities and unlock new behavior new interactions and new opportunities for

sins by acquiring perks you can drastically alter your Sims path to

stardom with different paths to becoming famous and ways to earn fame faster most

perks have a requirement that must be satisfied before they can be purchased

your Sims celebrity level will adjust which perks they're allowed to purchase

the more powerful parks require higher celebrity level to acquire higher tier

perks the lower tier perks in the same column must first be purchased some

perks even require that your Sims reputation be at a certain level before

they can even be purchased there are also five levels of celebrity Fame

starting from the least to the greatest notable newcomer rising star b lister

proper celebrity and global superstar Sims who lose celebrity levels may lose

access to certain perks that they previously had when this happens the

perk will be removed from the sim and the fame points will be refunded fame

points are always e Sims to keep Sims can change their fame perks at any time

and use their cellphone Sims can even book a

celebrity cleanse to reset all of their fame perks all perks will then be

removed then points will be refunded and you will be able to select a new set of

perks for your sins now the following perks are some of the available ones

that you can purchase for your sins in the game who's bad play the villain

corporate partnership lifestyle brand networking PR agency and more I have a

generate based on behavioral actions there are specific triggers and

based on the behavior they engage in once acquired a quirk can be removed by
