recently we commissioned a shaker table here
to the MICA cooperative, which is a gold mining cooperative
for small scale artisnal miners
and they have been running it for a couple of months now
and today we are here to follow up with them as well as some other people joining us on trip
To get the feedback on how its working
in particular compared to the traditional methods of concentrating
using sluice boxes and amalgamation of mercury.
Hello, I am Solomon of Migori Kenya and operator of this shaker table in Migori
Starting without we have been doing it manually usually before the shaker table came
we could extract the ore from the mines
using chisels and hammers
after that crush to pebbles manually
than they are taken to the ball mills
That grinds the ore to not very fine
that is when they take them to a board
with your size of sack, after you spread your size of sack
That is when you start running your slurry
of the concentrates and than after that
you remove the
concentrates will stick on the side of the sacks
by shaking the sacks
after shaking the sacks the person will remain in the basin where your shaking them
After that, they are taken to the ponds next to them
After that mercury is used to amalgamate gold.
after that as you
as you do the amalgamation thing
Take the mercury that has attracted gold because it does attract gold
You put it in a linen cloth
than you squeeze, the remaining amalgam
inside the gold as the mercury gets out
Though not all of it, some will remain
inside the linen cloth
as part of the amalgam
and by then the mercury , the gold
will assume the color of the mercury
So went its sent to the market
it is heated to get rid of the rest of the mercury
it will begin to give back the color of the mercury.
The true color of gold
and after that take it and go sell it for 3,000 Kenyan shillings per gram
okay, comparing the recovery
with the recovery of the shaker table
I come to find that
The shaker table
recovers up to twice as much gold as the local way

I have worked around the world with Artisnal Mininers.
and I have seen all sorts of processing techniques
and different modern techniques that have been applied to artisnal mining
Some successful, some not
All have there limitations
One thing that I'm very impressed with Mt. Baker Mining Equipment
fineness of the gold they can capture with the shaker table.
Previously I understand that
a shaker table can only capture to a fineness of gold
except in the case of the Gemini table.
which is quite a expensive piece of equipment.
So I am happy that
at the price artisanal miners can afford
There is now piece of equipment that can catch that fine of gold
but this also does a whole lot of material as well
a lot of people advocate centrifuges
certainly I have see that apply in as lot of cases
but all too often
The controller box malfunctions or the ore is not processed sufficiently well
for that kind of machine to be useful
in some cases the water isn't clean enough so it blocks the pores
A nice simple piece of equipment is much better adopted to
the particular case of artisnal mining
where they don't necessarily have access to maintenance or repair services.
for more complex machinery and
this shaker table like this
nice and easy to operate
it's durable and simple to optimize and level
and to operate
it's going to be really advantageous for people in my line of work
who try to help artisnal miners
to improve recovery at an effective cost
Here we have some ore being fed onto the table
it gets down into the feeding trough and then down into the grooves
and any light waste material
works it's way down into the tailings port
which feeds a few settling ponds here
and than water is re-circulated from that pond back to the table
so it's a closed loop system, so there is no water lost
and occasionally this small pond here is excavated.
and there is a small pile of tailings
All the dense material, the gold and the silver, sulfides, ect.
sinks into the grooves and works it's way to the high grade area of the table
there is no bump or jerk with the table
it's a smooth cyclical motion that creates less agitation in the slurry
and also results in finer gold recovery
Based on reports from miners here who have been using the table
recovery is about 150% to 200%
compared to traditional method of
using a sluice box and amalgamating with mercury
Which is still the pre-dominate way in which material is processed in the Migori region of Kenya
The gold including the fine gold works it's way over here
and into the high grade port
where it can be collected and then smelted
and this is the middling port where any sulfides
or any medium density material will report to
this whole system uses a 1/2hp single phase motor
the pump is also a single phase
and it is powered by a small generator you can see down there

I have personally witnessed the effectiveness of the shaking table
which is helping the small scale miners here in Migori,
The shaking table was first introduced to us by Steve, Jason and Rolf
who also commissioned it.
Before we were using traditional slucing, but now we are using shaking
table which have increased our gold recovery by 200percent,
We thank the manufacturer MBMM for bringing the shaking table here in
Kenya Migori county. Earlier on we used to recover gold and to finish
the process we had to use mercury, but for shaking table we are not
using any chemicals. We appreciate those involved in bringing the
shaking table and we thank God for them. We would love to have more
shaking table in Kenya and other county like Kakamega and extend to Tanzania,

How to Make Unicorn Frappuccino with All Natural Color - Starbucks' Copycat Drink - Duration: 3:19.
Hello Everyone, welcome to the uTry.it Channel. This is Amy Tong.
Today, I want to share this recipe with you which was inspired by the latest and greatest Starbucks drink that was only available for a limited time.
The great news is that you can follow my recipe and make this drink any time at home.
In additional, my recipe is made with all-natural ingredients.
Follow me to the kitchen and I'll show you how to make this Unicorn Frappuccino.
For the natural food coloring, we'll need a 1/4 of a red cabbage.
Yes, red cabbage is involved in this Frappuccino!
But don't worry, I promise you won't taste any cabbage in the drink at all.
Bring a small pot of water to a boil and add your cabbage.
Keep it on low heat and let the mixture simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
When the liquid reduced to about a 1/4 cup, remove the pot from the heat.
Past the mixture through a sieve and discard the cabbage.
Let me show you something fun and magical!
As you can see, the liquid right now is more to a purple color.
Add a little bit of baking soda and you'll see the color change right before your eyes!
Can you see the difference?
The bowl on the left is with the original color and the one on the right is with baking soda.
It turns into a gorgeous blue color.
To make the Blue Vanilla Frappuccino layer for this drink, we will need 2 to 3 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream,
1 tablespoon of agave, 1/2 a cup of crushed ice, 1/2 a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of the natural blue coloring.
Process in the blender until nice and smooth.
Store in the freezer while you prepare the BlackBerry Frappuccino layer.
For the Purple Blackberry Frappuccino layer, we'll need 1 cup of frozen blackberry that is thawed to room temperature.
Process in the blender until nice and smooth.
Pass the blackberry puree through a sieve and discard the seeds.
Add 2 to 3 scoops of vanilla bean ice cream in your blender, along with 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice,
1/2 a cup of blackberry puree, 1 tablespoon of agave, and 1/2 a cup of crushed ice.
Blend it until nice and smooth.
I found these star-shaped glasses that is perfect for this whimsical drink.
Fill your glasses with the Blue Vanilla Frappuccino until 1/4 way up.
Next, fill the glasses with the Purple Blackberry Frappuccino until 1/2 way up.
Alternating with another layer of Blue Vanilla Frappuccino and Purple Blackberry Frappuccino on top.
I found these festive rainbow color cotton candy in a local party store
They are perfect to garnish these drinks.
I will list a link below this video on where to find them.
Last but not least, sprinkle a few edible gold stars on top of these drinks for a whimsical touch.

Hunter Boot Collection and Full Review 2017 - Duration: 10:05.
hello gorgeous welcome back to my
channel I have another video in my
review series for you today and I'm
steering off a little bit from
the handbags that I've been doing and I am
talking today about hunter boots and
talked to you about my experiences with
them and how I feel about them so if you
want to know keep on watching ok so my
first pair of hunter boots were the
original tall black hunters these Matt
and I figured out are probably about 5
years old so when I put them
side-by-side with the new hunter boots
you're going to see a very you're going
to see a difference like it's a
noticeable difference in everything from
the height to the design but I again
have had these for almost 5 years I said
I think and overall let's just go over
them from top to bottom what I think
about them so the thing about hunter
boots is that the more you wear them the
softer the rubber becomes it was just
the way that I've experienced them to be
I don't know maybe you guys have a
different experience but I feel like
they're much more flimsy and pliable now
that I've worn them so much the only
damage that I and I wear these things
all the time you guys see them
especially when I was in Vancouver I
wore them like basically every day for
as much as I've worn them over the past
4 or 5 years there is a small section of
wear right here and then there is
another small section of wear right here
on both pairs and honestly I think it's
from
it's from rubbing you know like when I'm
sitting down walking whatever other than
that they're an excellent condition for
them being as old as they are I have
never had any problems with leaking
what's walking through the puddles or
rain or anything like that I did have
one person I posted a picture of me
wearing my Hunters on Instagram a couple
months ago and I have one particular
gorgeous girl who said that she got a
pair and was in the first year they were
leaking and she was so disappointed over
by them again and I was really sad to
hear that but I have never had that
experience I have only seen like very
awesome
or had really awesome results overall
the interior is a lined rubber so it's
like more of a the material feels
reminds me of pantyhose frankly sewn
nylon and on the inside of the left shoe
or left boot there is the hunter tag
honestly - I've worn
so much that the tag is worn off I can't
even tell you what size they are or
anything else how much I've worn them
they have been incredibly sturdy
incredibly faithful to me and I will
probably get another couple years wear
out of these boots they have been
awesome the hunter emblem on the right
boot is actually held up a lot better
than the one on the left
I'm just saying there's a little bit of
wear and tear on it but overall I love
these boots just a couple of details
that I like to point out and these are
again are my older boots but I love that
there is a little bit of a belt detail
on the side there isn't an actual prong
on it but it just pulls and then the
front tag is actually 3d it actually
comes out from the boot a little bit and
then as you can see there is a little
bit of detail here on the toe it's a
scallop and then there's a soft detail
along here and then there is a slight
slight heel now I am actually wearing
these in a 5m u.s. a 37 Europe in a four
UK that is actually surprising because
on oh five and I'm a size male I am som
tum and six F six females so I'm wearing
these a full size smaller than my shoe
my regular shoe size i am a seven across
the board and every pair of shoes that I
wear and these are a six and they fit my
feet perfect okay so while I was in
Vancouver I bought a second pair of
hunters because like I said I was
wearing them basically everyday I bought
them in the green now these are again
the classic tall hunters they are in the
u.s. they are 150 dollars a pair quite
honestly I think that that price is
great for as long as mine have lasted I
want to hold them side-by-side for you
really quickly so that you can see the
green is about an inch taller then maybe
you have an inch taller isn't the black
pair these are the same boots but the
green are about five years newer so this
is a new design that you're going to get
I will say that the green which is I
bought I want to say maybe six months
ago now they were a little bit harder to
break in for whatever reason the rubber
on the newer design is a little bit
stiffer than the older and the first
couple times they wore at my feet
hurt like pretty badly they hurt in my
heel area was an after I wore him
several more times I started to break
them in and my feet got used to them so
they don't hurt my feet anymore they
again have the really cool side buckle
design I never never actually buckled
this one for whatever reason but I can
and the buckle actually says hunter on
it which is a just a great little detail
again the 3ds sticker now this is where
they differ a lot also from the the old
black pair that again are five years old
so it does have the skin the scalloped
toe but this is a newer design because
as you can see it's like a raised band
across the bridge of your foot and then
there's also a cutout back here and this
is a little bit more defined so it's
very subtle differences but they are
different overall from the original
model I think that the heel between the
old and the new so the heel as you can
see on the black is just a little bit
smaller than the heel on the green it's
um so the greens just got a little bit
of a of a thicker heel and also if you
look at the back there is a difference
because we've got the raised band there
and this is just a straight band all the
way up the back so just very very subtle
differences but these you can see as I'm
holding it are a lot more fun beer than
this see how much harder this is so cold
and then might just be because these are
these are older and I've broken them in
so much and the these are actually lined
with I got a little bit of a better
analogy I think they're lined with
neoprene
this is a printed in the black and in
the green it's just a plain black okay
so I want to add this up for you guys
really quickly the classic tall boots
are 150 dollars let's divide that by
five years so basically those boots cost
us $30 a years to wear for five years I
honestly think I'm going to get another
couple of years wear out of them so when
you think of it that way the price point
for the value for as often as I wear
these boots fantastic if you're going to
buy them and only wear them one year or
you buy them you only wear them once a
year then obviously it's not a great
purchase for you it bang for your buck
wise but for me I think one hundred and
fifty dollars for these boot
is great and I can't I highly recommend
them I think the quality is fantastic
they've held up so well throughout the
years and also against rain snow
whatever so highly recommend so here's
why you can wear these boots all year
long it's because of the hunter boot
socks I love these boots ox I picked up
three pairs I have right here while I
was in Vancouver I personally feel like
they easily turn your rain boots that
you can wear in the summer into rain
boots that you can wear throughout the
fall that really keep your feet warm and
then even insulated boot socks will keep
your feet warm for snow fantastic so I
have them in here I have them hot pink I
have them in like this really pretty
like purplish burgundy and then I also
have them in this gray which is the
sweaters you can see that the sweater
detail is a cable knit or you can get
just like the straight knit or you can
just get the police
my favorite pair is the off-white fleece
I don't have them right here but I wear
them in my pictures all the time if you
need any inspiration for a hunter boots
just scroll back through my Instagram
because all through my time in Canada I
was wearing hunters but this is what the
socks look like so it's just a fleece
sock and then if they fold over of the
sweater so I'm going to pop this in the
boots for you to see really quick you
just put them into your booth I actually
put the sock on my foot first then I put
the boot on and then I fold them over
the top but for time purpose and shot
purpose we're going to do it this way so
that you can see so this just folds
right over the top
nicely and what I love is that it also
has the hunter boot design or tag on it
so when you're covering it it also has a
cute little hunter if you keep your
emblem visible and then it folds over
and it just keeps your feet so cozy and
it's cute
this is especially cute when you wear it
with tights and a skirt or over your
drink jeans or leggings you can just
wear these so many different ways and
they're just adorable
so one pair of hunter boots with maybe I
don't know three pairs of boots ox can
you imagine the combinations you can
create so many different looks like
adorable the socks are pricey is there
$55 per pair but that's Canadian so u.s.
what is that like
more like 40 the quality of the socks
are fantastic obviously you don't have
to use the hunter boot socks I
personally prefer them because of the
way that they fold over they're made for
these boots they look incredible and the
out like I said the outfit options
limitless alright guys so that was my
full review of hunter boots again I love
them I personally highly recommend them
I would buy them for gifts for people
that's how much I love them personally
right now I have my eye on the baby pink
hunters have you seen them adorable and
also the baby blues I would love to have
them in both colors I think that they
are adorable and I can't wait to have a
little girl one day so I could put her
in the little little lady's school and

I can't go back I already posted them and
begun to get reactions from people and
so I was going to post all three of them
on Facebook but I don't know... my anxiety
wont let me do that so instead I'm gonna
post this video so this is technically
my introduction to them... but also a follow
up the next day.. I don't know that make
sense I am about to go back to sleep in
about five minutes because I've work
tonight
but yeah so I will put links to the

down there and yeah if you don't want to

deal with some heavy stuff from my anxiety to
my eating disorders to sexual things
to... I get into it

Don't Feel Safe - Should House Cleaners and Maids Follow Their Gut? - Duration: 6:57.
Hey there, I'm Angela Brown, and this is Ask a House Cleaner.
This is a show where you get to ask at housecleaning question,
and I get to help you find an answer.
Now, today's question comes from a girl who was going to bid a job at a customer's house.
And when she got to the customer's house, she drove into the neighborhood.
And as she looked around the neighborhood there were a lot of unsettling things that
caught her attention.
There were people hanging out in the streets that she felt should either be in school or
should be at work or whatever.
But they seem to be living on the street.
There was trash and broken bottles.
And there was graffiti on the walls.
And there were broken windows in some of the vehicles that were parked along the sides
of the street.
And she didn't feel safe about leaving her car on that street while she was inside cleaning
for three and four hours at a time.
She felt a little bit unsafe about working in this neighborhood and so
she turned around and she left. She never bid the job.
Now, her question to me is; "The woman called me back and she wants me to come back and
bid the job.
Do I just keep rescheduling with her and then standing her up and hopefully she goes and
finds another housecleaner?"
Please don't do that okay?
That right there is what gives house cleaners everywhere a really bad name.
That's bad.
Please do not do that.
Now if you go into a neighborhood and you don't feel safe,
you have to respect your gut instinct,
which you did that correctly, so yay for that.
The instinct part is something that you're going to have to deal with as you go to different
houses throughout the course of your career for whatever reason.
And our conscious minds don't always know why we feel unsafe, but when something triggers
it and it's all a fight or flight response, you have to respect that and get out.
Just get out quickly don't ask questions.
If that kicks in and you don't feel safe you need to leave.
Because there's no amount of money that a house cleaning job will be worth your safety
if you get mugged, or you get beaten, or you get killed.
Okay?
It's not worth the price of that house.
Now the next thing that I have to mention is the woman who lives in this house (I don't
know why she lives there) but maybe she feels safe.
Okay, that is her choice of where she lives.
This is her home and so, although you may not feel safe, she does.
I don't know if somebody gave her that house as an inheritance.
Maybe that's the only kind of house she could afford.
Maybe she grew up in that house.
We don't know what the reasons are that she lives there, but she feels safe.
So, it's not nice to call her up on the phone and say "Well, you live in a bad neighborhood
I'm not coming to clean in your neighborhood."
Because she has social media just like you.
She can jump on Facebook and jump on Twitter and say "Hey, listen, don't hire this girl
she's mean."
Right?
She can do that.
And now you have damage control for somebody you never even cleaned their house.
The next thing that you need to think about is if you keep rescheduling with her and you
keep not showing up.
you set a really bad name for your business.
And then again, you have damage control.
She can say "Don't hire this girl she's completely unreliable.
She said five appointments with me and never showed up to a single one of them."
That is that is really bad PR that you just did for yourself. Please do not do that.
Alright so if you decide that you get to a neighborhood and you are not safe, then make
a note to yourself.
I don't work in this neighborhood.
And if someone then calls in the future you can quickly do a search for that area or that
zip code and say "I don't service that area."
So, right up front, you haven't wasted their time by keeping them home from work so they
can be there when you go to bid the job.
They're not wasting your time from having you drive across town to bid the job and then
discover that "oh yeah it's this neighborhood, I don't work in this neighborhood."
There are streets that are just known not to be safe streets.
So, don't work on those streets.
Right?
This is your business you get to choose where you want to work.
Now, my recommendation would be, because a lot of times you are going to be
out working alone.
And there's nothing wrong with working alone.
There's no reason to be afraid or to be scared most of the people that are going to hire you
are just nice people.
And they have money, and they're going to pay for a particular service.
And so, you have to go into it with that attitude.
With that attitude though you still have to be cautious, and so if you're really nervous
and you're not sure, carry pepper spray with you.
I do not recommend that you carry a loaded weapon there are so many things that can malfunction
if you have a loaded weapon.
And if it's in your cleaning caddy and a kid gets a hold of it while you're not looking
and your back is turned, that's on you.
Okay?
So, DO NOT carry a loaded gun.
I've had people ask me this question on numerous occasions.
DO NOT carry a loaded gun with you
into someone else's home.
DO NOT do that.
But you can carry pepper spray.
Pepper spray is small.
It fits right in your apron.
It's on your person.
If someone gets close to you and you feel threatened,
you can pull it out and squirt them.
Boom.
Problem solved and then run.
Run to safety.
So it is an easy fix whether it's a pit bull or whether it's a person or whatever you can
still protect yourself.
The next thing that I might recommend is if (and this is any house, not just houses where
you feel unsafe, but any house) let someone else know where you're going to be.
We have texting now.
You can text your mother, you can text a friend.
Say "Listen, I'm going to clean a house here is the address.
I will be done at a certain time.
I will send you a thumbs-up emoji when the project is done and I'm safe.
If I don't check back in with you in 3 hours call the police."
Right?
So, you can have someone keep tabs on you in the event that something malfunctions.
I've never known a situation where housecleaner has gone missing on the job.
It just normally doesn't happen.
It's a very unusual situation.
I'm not saying it can't, I'm just saying I don't know of a particular situation where
that has happened.
So, let someone else know where you are like I said it's a super easy thing you get the
address from the customer you forward it to a friend.
So get an accountability partner because that way they know you're safe and you know you're
safe.
