FIRST TIME IN TAIWAN - What To Eat And Where To Go // 第一次的台灣之旅 - 必吃美食必走行程 - Duration: 11:51.
And in 3, 2, 1, we're heading to Taipei
So this is the lobby of the Taiwan Grand Hotel
It literally feels like a Chinese palace.
look, everything is RED
so many red pillars…
The outside looks like you are entering some kind of kingdom…
some ancient kingdom, it looks insane!
I literally love this hotel It's been...actually its my first day here but its really awesome
Here is Dan Dan!
Hey, whats up.
Dan is my Taiwanese guy so he knows where to go, what to do
So we are going to go to Jiufen
It is like $2,000 NTD there and back
It's like an hour car ride there and then an hour back
$2,000 NTD is like 6,000-7,000 yen or around $60-70 US
So we will see you guys there
So right now we are in Jiufen, we have landed
beautiful view
Kind of crazy. I think you don't really recognize or
For me at least I didn't think taiwan was so green, but it there's so much nature
everywhere
That temple were like in the middle of the forest as you guys saw or a temple Shrine temple
yeah, we think temple but
It was absolutely gorgeous. It was like sticking out of the forest
Looked kind of crazy but we have another beautiful scene so we will see you guys there
I don't think you realize how much of a mountain Taiwan is
Like one giant Mountain no wonder Daniel is so fit
Yeah DanDan
But Taiwan mountain #1!
You are sweating
So this uphill is literally
Just stairs with restaurants and souvenir shops lining
So many people and it's so humid. I'm dripping sweat
but I'm not the only one, Dan is dripping sweat too
We are dripping sweat buddies
This is so cool though. It just keeps going up
Oh my god
Alright, so now. We're gonna try yu yuan
Yu yuan...Its basically like ice, a slushy looking ice with fruit slices, mochi balls or taro balls
I haven't tried it yet, but I think I look like a much of all kind of thing plus red bean paste or "anko"
There is a lot of influence from Japanese culture here so…
Yeah, like mochi balls
Really good. And its so good right now because its so hot. This ice is really refreshing
Its only 45 NTD for one
We are trying sweet seaweed
Whoa? Oh I know what this is. My grandma used to make this
That's good
It's like Jell-O
Not jello!
It tastes like anindofu
Right right, so what you do is you boil that block and then you put ice in it...
And then you can drink it like that
That's good
so
We're still walking in the alleyway, Taiwanese people are so nice...I like Taiwanese people
Ohhhh, boba tea, milk tea!
Okay, it's bigger than my hands whoa
Look how big this is, as big as my face. Only about 260 yen of around $2.60US
for the country known for the best
Yeah, oh, yeah
We have made it to Shifen, Shifen Old Street
Shifen Old Street and we are on another suspension bridge
And I really don't like suspension bridges as you can see it's shaking already. Well my hair looks crazy
It's been like raining on and off constantly here
And then this place is actually famous for like kind of lantern thing you like put a lantern a fire under a small lantern
You let it go up in the sky and you can make a wish or something right?
Yeah, you can write something on it. Yeah kind of cool. We're gonna try that
So this place has a bunch of cool
Shops and restaurants and cafes as well
Just like Jiufen
Everything is like so much eating here. I love it food here is great so many choices
except it rains like very very often
All right, we went across a fried ice cream place
I gotta get my ice cream course right?
That's so good imagine like tempura and like ice cream
The Shifen area was pretty awesome and a nice get away from the busy Taipei city vibe
After we got dropped off from the taxi back towards our hotel
We took the subway to our next location which was very convenient and easy to use
There were English translations for most of the prompts on the screen making ticket purchases very efficient
You get a poker chip looking like coin, that you'll tap on a ticket gate and later use for the exit gate as well.
I was very eager to arrive at our next stop as it was supposed to be absolutely enormous
Whatup guys so right now we are outside of chiang Kai-shek
National Memorial Hall, which is it covers around over 240,000 square meters, so it is absolutely huge
The main Entrance is right here
And it's designated to the former president of the republic of China. His name is chiang Kai-shek
Hence chiang Kai-shek memorial hall and here's like a very prominent a military leader
in
Taiwan History, or the Republic of China and
He died at 1975 so that's actually kind of recent. But um yeah, there's a lot of good history. You can see here
There's a lot of like soldiers
Walking around it's actually like a big event right now with a bunch of soldiers...
like children...?
students...?
Get in here buddy. Get in here. They're high school students doing what um
Marching performance doing stuff and yeah, then after this we're going to go to
Hsing Tian Kong
Which is a temple for that that's devoted to the god of business here in Taiwan, and that covers over 70,000 square meters
So these places are really really really big
Yeah
We have made it to elephant Mountain aka Xiangshen
It's called Elephant Mountain because the mountain looks like an elephant head
He's Taiwanese, I'm not even Taiwanese and I know...
We will see you guys up on the mountain..
so we have been climbing for like 3 minutes...
and Elephant Mountain
is just a buttload of stairs
Look at that. This is a never-ending Elephant Mountain...
Actually it just keeps getting steeper and steeper each step is getting longer and longer making for a deeper squat. How one else nothing
Taiwan Elephant Mountain trying to kill tourists one step at a time...
At the top of Elephant Mountain was an absolutely gorgeous view of the City minus the weather
When people talk about how good taiwanese food is they are definitely not kidding around
The Hike was a perfect way to burn all those calories we gained while here in Taiwan
We couldn't stop eating on this trip as every meal seemed to get better than the last
I don't think I've ever been on a trip that was centered around delicious food, but I'm glad I now have that experience
On our last day we decided to take the train to the airport
near Taipei station, which has direct access to the airport terminal making for a very easy return home
the process of purchasing the ticket is the same as buying a ticket on the normal train. The price was very cheap and
definitely something you should take advantage of if you make your way down here
All right guys that's going to wrap it up for kind of like an explore Taiwan video. We had a ton of fun
I absolutely love taiwan [um] I think it's just rightfully correct to end it with some tapioca since uh tapioca or
boba tea, or I guess pearls tapioca pearls or however you want to call them originated from Taiwan
we did so much from eating so much food to hiking to going to the countryside of Taiwan, not countryside, but like kind of
outside of the main city in Jiufen on the first day was absolutely great. We also went on a hike to Elephant Mountain
We went shopping. We got a massage. We got everything Taiwan is absolutely.. I literally absolutely love it
I want to come back and check out the other cities Taichung and Tainan
Tainan is down south and Taicheng is in between Tainan and Taipei
So I hope you guys enjoyed this video even though its not Japan related
But I hope you guys can support it and kind of enjoy the Taiwan vlogs because I would love to come back here
So yeah anyways, please like comment share and subscribe, and we'll see you guys in the next video. Bye
All right, so we are trying pork blood cake
Want to explain this? Can you tell me what this is?

Your Brain Tells You Time Is Real — But Is It Lying to You? | Dean Buonomano - Duration: 4:44.
So there's two general hypotheses or theories about the nature of time.
One of them we'll call Presentism.
And Presentism the notion is that only the present is real.
The past was real.
The future, some configuration of the future universe, will be real.
But for now only the present is real.
In contrast the opposing view is called Eternalism.
In Eternalism you have: the past, present and future are all equally real.
So that makes the present just an arbitrary point in time or an arbitrary moment in time.
So one way to think about this is: Now is to time as Here is to space.
So in the same sense that I happen to be here and some viewers are out at some other point
in space (and we're all comfortable with that notion that other points in space are
equally real), in Eternalism you have to be comfortable with the notion that other moments
in time are as equally real as this moment in time and this is just an arbitrary moment.
And so under that view, there are other moments—or there's a continuum of moments in time—that
are essentially already laid out within the universe.
And that universe in physics is called the Block Universe.
Under the Block Universe it makes sense to engage in a conversation about time travel,
because there's other moments to go to.
Not that this does speak to the issue of whether time travel is actually plausible or not;
it's probably not.
But it enables the conversation because other moments in time exist.
Under Presentism we can pretty much take the possibility of time travel off the table because
there's no other moments to go to—Only the present is real.
So it doesn't make sense to ask if you can travel to moments in time in the past or future
that don't exist.
Now there's a clash here between neuroscience and physics.
So intuitively time seems to be changing.
We humans experience the flow of time.
Under Eternalism, where everything is already laid out, the flow of time is a deep mystery
because it would seem to be that, if all the moments in time are already laid out within
the block universe, that the flow of time shouldn't exist or must be an illusion.
So if the flow of time, if our subjective sense of the flow of time is an illusion,
we have this clash between physics and neuroscience because the dominant theory in physics is
that we live in the Block Universe.
And I should be clear: there is no consensus.
There's no 100 percent agreement, but the standard view in physics is that—and this
comes in large part from Relativity—that we live in an Eternalist universe, in a Block
Universe, in which the past, present, and future are equally real.
So this raises the question of whether we can trust our brain to tell us that time is
flowing.
So I think we need to have an improved dialogue between physics and neuroscience here.
So on one hand we have to decide is if we want to accept that our subjective sense of
the flow of time is an objective fact about the universe.
We perceive time to be flowing; Things seem to be changing; The past seems to be vaporizing
into the past and the future seems to be wide open.
Now if it's the case that we live in the Block Universe, that seems to be illusory
in a very deep sense.
So we have to decide if we want to take our subjective sense of the flow of time as an
objective fact about the universe.
That must be explained by physics.
Or in contrast, is our subjective sense of the flow of time merely an illusion (an illusion
in the deepest sense of that word because we're perceiving something that doesn't
exist in the physical world) that physics doesn't need to explain (because it doesn't
exist)?
And thus neuroscience needs to address where the solution comes from.
And this illusion is presumably tightly coupled with the problem of consciousness.

The MATH of time travel REVEALED Scientists says we CAN travel in time - Duration: 7:12.
The MATH of time travel REVEALED Scientists says we CAN travel in time
According to a new study, time travel ismathematically speakingpossible.
A researcher has concluded that space should NOT be divided into three dimensionswhere
time is separated.
Instead, four dimensions need to be imagined simultaneously as a space-time continuum in
which the different directions are connected.
While time travel has only been possible in popular movies and books, a scientist has
found that in reality, theres more to time travel than what we previously believed.
A researcher has created a new, revolutionary model that revealsmathematicallytime
travel is in fact possible.
While it seems to work mathematically, experts have yet to come up with the right materials
to create a working time machine.
The study was recently published in the IOPscience Journal Classical and Quantum Gravity and
argues that mathematically speaking we can travel in time:
In this paper we present geometry which has been designed to fit a laypersons description
of a time machine.
It is a box which allows those within it to travel backwards and forwards through time
and space, as interpreted by an external observer.
Timelike observers travel within the interior of a bubble of geometry which moves
along a circular, acausal trajectory through spacetime.
If certain timelike observers inside the bubble maintain a persistent acceleration, their
worldlines will close.
Our analysis includes a description of the causal structure of our spacetime, as well
as a discussion of its physicality.
The inclusion of such a bubble in a spacetime will render the background spacetime non-orientable,
generating additional consistency constraints for formulations of the initial value problem.
The spacetime geometry is geodesically incomplete, contains naked singularities, and requires
exotic matter.
Ben Tippett, a mathematics and physics instructor at the University of British Columbias
Okanagan campus has revealed that time travel is at least mathematically possible.
People think of time travel as something of fiction, and we tend to think its not
possible because we dont actually do it.
But mathematically, it is possible, revealed Tippett,
According to a newly-published study, Tippet concludes that space should NOT be divided
into three dimensionswhere time is separated.
Instead, Tippett says four dimensions need to be imagined simultaneously as a space-time
continuum in which the different directions are connected.
Time travel.
Based on Einsteins theorythe researchers argues that the curvature of space-time is
responsible for the curved orbits of the planets in the universe.
The researcher argues that if space-time was not curved planets in the universe would
travel in a straight line.
Imagine yourself standing next to a MASSIVE STAR.
There, space-time geometry becomes curved making all straight trajectories of nearby
cosmic bodies to bend, following a curved path around the star.
The time direction of the space-time surface also shows curvature.
There is evidence showing the closer to a black hole we get, time moves slower, says
Tippett.
My model of a time machine uses the curved space-time to bend time into a circle
for the passengers, not in a straight line.
That circle takes us back in time.
For the study, Tippett came up with a mathematical model called Traversable Acausal Retrograde
Domain in Space-time or more charismatically called TARDIS.
Tippett describes it as a bubble of space-time geometry which is able to carry contents back
and forth through space.
This bubble moves through space-time at a speed greater than the speed of light
times 8, which consequently allows it to move backwards in time.
Studying space-time is both fascinating and problematic.
And its also a fun way to use math and physics, says Tippett.
Experts in my field have been exploring the possibility of mathematical time machines
since 1949.
And my research presents a new method for doing it.
However, while the researcher says its mathematically possible to travel in time, he doubts that
anyone will ever build a working time machine in the near future.
HG Wells popularized the term time machine and he left people with the thought that an
explorer would need a machine or special box to actually accomplish time travel,
Tippett says.
While it is mathematically feasible, it is not yet possible to build a space-time
machine because we need materials which we call exotic matter to bend space-time
in these impossible ways, but they have yet to be discovered, concluded Tippett.

Adventure Time: Elements (Mini-Series) Review - Duration: 4:24.
You may or may not have noticed that I don't talk about several popular modern shows like
Steven Universe, Star vs the Forces of Evil, Rick and Morty and Adventure Time.
I mostly talk about shows from the 2000s and no, it's because I don't like these shows.
I don't simply don't talk about them.
Now, I absolutely love Adventure Time.
It's one of my favorite cartoon network shows ever aired, but ever since season 5,
I haven't been impressed with the decisions the show has been making.
I grew much more intolerant to constant filler episodes, interrupting story-arcs and continuing
after 5000 episodes and the strange relatively lack of emotion in certain episodes, particularly
with Finn.
It's not that show became bad or even okay.
It's still a good show, even in the later seasons.
It's just that there's a significant drop in quality in terms of execution.
Luckily, in season 7, we were introduced to mini-series, which while they are not perfect,
they are definitely the moments were the show peaks my interest the most.
Now, when they announced that they would air a new mini-series after Islands, I wasn't
sure what to expect, mainly because it was the first time the show aired two mini-series
in one season.
Thankfully, I saw it and I thought it was pretty good.
The main plot about the elements being embraced and dividing the land of Ooo into factions
was pretty cool and interesting.
I enjoyed watching Finn and Jake.
One of my biggest problems with Finn in the Islands mini-series was that for someone who
was finally getting to meet other members of his kind, he seemed very emotionally held
back.
I was expecting that mini-series to be the point where Finn had the most emotional breakdown
and while there were a few moments where he showed emotional vulnerability, especially
with his mom, he wasn't vulnerable enough, in my opinion.
And that's not the only time I've complained about this.
It also happened when he broke up with Flame Princess and when he lost his arm.
He seemed too chill.
In this mini-series, however, he was great.
He not only showed a lot of concern and passion when he realized that the land of Ooo was
different and especially when Jake was absorbed by the Slime princess, he also expressed guilt
for leaving the land during the Islands mini-series.
There was also a nice moment when Jake expressed how he holds a lot of fear and fright to avoid
freaking out Finn and protect him.
Ice King was, as always, enjoyable to watch.
It was pretty cool watching him work together with Finn and Jake, which is something that
would never happen 7 years ago.
Betty was also nice to watch.
During the runtime of the show, we didn't get to see a lot of Betty.
In this mini-series, we learn how her obsession with fixing Simon is consuming her and how
her exposure to magic is driving her nuts.
LSP was good.
LSP is a character I have a lot of fun watching and it was cool to see her serving a key role
in this story.
We didn't get to see much of Princess Bubblegum or Marceline, although I wasn't expecting
to see much of them.
At least they had more screen time than in the Islands mini-series.
The series did a good job creating an unpredictable war atmosphere, though it didn't have an
overly serious tone, as there were various silly moments.
At some point, I had no idea what was going to happen and who was going to be the hero.
Like, even Finn was caught up in the chaos.
When a show is difficult to predict the outcome, it's doing a good job.
However, if there's one thing that bothered me about the story was the ending.
First of all, after the land was restored to its normal roots, it felt kind of… anti-climactic.
Secondly, the overall story felt inconclusive.
Like per example, I was expecting a change in Simon and Betty's relationship, but at
the end, Betty was transferred to Mars, possibly for jeopardizing the balance of the space-time
continuum, and nothing about her relationship with Simon changed.
We also didn't get fully know what happened to LSP after she restored everything to normal.
Yeah, it's possible she will be alright at the end, but if that actually happen, I
might be a little disappointed.
There's a bit of a trend in these Adventure Time mini-series, in which they hint that
these are life changing events, but so far, the only mini-series that came close to bringing
change was Islands with Susan, as she gained her memory and finally moved on with her friend,
though that's kind of debatable, given that Susan is not exactly a member of the main
cast.
Oh!
But overall, I enjoyed this mini-series.
I fully support Adventure Time making mini-series if it means seeing more of this.
