It's Easter Monday and my last day in Badolato

we're walking in the narrow streets of the village

following two musicians who are playing folk music from Calabria

We're about to listen to a typical song who was sang by the peasants in the fields many years ago

It's called "aria" because is a singing without instrumental accompaniment

There is not the same music in the hole region of Calabria

the music changes from one area to another, so they have various versions of the same melody

it works the same way for the dialect: the pronunciation of the words changes from one city to another

This is the narrowest street in Badolato

and in the world, I guess.

let's try if I can pass through it

I hope not to smash against the wall with my Canon

It's extremely interesting to find a community of foreigners here in Badolato

Swedish, Danish and English people

They spend their time together with Italians like they're doing right now

we're walking all together up and down the village, listening to folk music

yeah it's awesome that you're here

because as everybody knows I like to

talk about how to make more money and

while it's super important you gotta do

a good job of managing the money that

you actually have so super cool to have

Jessica here on the show today

absolutely so tell me a little bit

about your experience with budgeting and

how you came to like love the numbers

and how it works so much sure so I kind

of discovered budgeting budgets all that

kind of stuff when I first moved out of

my parents I was back in I think

2009-2010 and I had no idea what to do

with the money that i was earning and

the money i was earning it was going

away in a POOF and i had no idea what to

do so i started researching as you do

looking on YouTube and blogs and reading

books about personal finance and I kind

of realized the everyone kept on talking

about how important budgeting was it

sounds really boring to me but I'm like

okay I'm give it a whirl so I you know

opened up my excel spreadsheet I'm

started making my first budget and that

budget has evolved over time to what I

now call my crazy simple budget

spreadsheet they like to share with

everybody it is super simple obviously

and it's just a really great

roadmap to kind of put all of your money

data in there to give you an idea where

you can go with your money so one of the

things that I hear a lot is like

budgeting is like a icky or an ugly word

or like it's gonna take so long or so so

much time how much time do you spend

budgeting or keeping track your budget

every month well once you you know have

a budget once you kind of put all of

your stuff in there to go you really

only have to change when something

changes in your life your, you know

salary changes get a promotion you move

something drastic changes that's when

you have to update your budget otherwise

you pretty much stick to the same thing

same kind of thing month by month and

you've got kind of going on that way

exactly i say the the thing that may

take a little bit more time is tracking

your spending that's kind of another tab

of the budget spreadsheet that I like to

use so once a month have a little money

meeting with your partner or if it's just yourself

just hang out with yourself for now

I like to hang out with with myself have a glass

of wine. There you go now you

are married right I am do you do a

budget together with your husband or

gonna have your own how does that work

so yeah so when we we've been together

for 10 years and so at first it was

very separate and is he in all the spreadsheet he's done

he's not in all the spreadsheets

really he only came into the spreadsheet

situation once we got married okay and

he got in there um but even when we were

living together we kept everything

separate yeah sense financially and once

we married you know we moved here and he

kind of made the conscious decision okay

we still don't like pool all of our

money together that this doesn't work

for us we kind of do a separate but

together situation cool we'll talk about

now like that after because uh yeah I

like to talk about that but so give us

like your top three budgeting tips sure

okay so i would say number one if you

don't have one get started right away

the big reason why people you know get

into debt or run out of money and are

stressed about money because they don't

have a budget and for everyone who's

wondering what exactly is a budget it's

just a spending plan it is a plan a

guide to show you how to spend your

money and how to save it so that is the

number one too if everyone have one have

one okay haha number two is i would say

if you are in that

a couple relationship talk about it if

you know especially like if you were

like me and my husband we were living

together we did have lots of joint

expenses talk to them to see if they

want to kind of join up with you in the

budget or have separate ones but

basically open that communication so

they know that you're on the same page

and then I'm always super important when

budgeting with someone else and you have

expenses together alright so the third tip I have which is very important is

really monitoring your cash flow it's

great to have a budget but if you're not

using it and you're always going over and

certain things you really need to look

at okay what's the real reason I'm going

over which is a big reason why you need

to track for spending it will probably be

very evident that you're like okay

you're spending too much on eating out

you're spending too much on

entertainment you need to cut that cable

so you really want to make sure that

your budget aligns with your needs and

your want it has to be realistic for it

to work but you also have to kind of

look at your spending to see how to make

your spending work with your budget

awesome those are really great tips so

that brings us to our tweetable today

think of your budget as a way to

actually get what you want what I love

about what jessica is saying is that

it's it's about really figuring out what

it is that you want to spend your money

on in your life and then a budget will

allow you to allocate your money to

there rather than just spending all over

the place and then not having any money

to do the things that you really want to

do right so our challenge for you guys

today is to download Jessica's my simple

crazy budget which we've got linked up

below and won't we'd love for you guys

to test out is creating a budget so do

it for one month put in all the

information track it for that one month

and just see how you go so hopefully you

A Battle of Kings | Destination WILD - Duration: 2:10.

young male macaques are driven from their matrilineal family.

Thereafter, they will literally live

If defeated by a younger male, their positions

The victor will assume alpha status,

The fighting is between males only.

Unlike some monkey species, the victors in macaque battles

for male supremacy do not kill the offspring

of the vanquished.

Females and babies are not targets.

Battles for male status happen frequently.

On average, an alpha male only enjoys this rank for just two

years before being overthrown.

Aspiring alpha males use both aggression and social skills

to advance their status.

Happily, this battle was short.

Calm is quickly restored.

The king has survived the challenge,

and for now at least, the hierarchy is intact.

Should a head transplant be allowed to happen? - Duration: 3:06.

According to Facebook,the first human head transplant operation is scheduled for December

2017.

Moving a healthy human head from a subject with an unhealthy body and move the head onto

otherwise-healthy, brain-dead donor body.

Crazy!

[Intro] But despite what you might have read, humanity

is not much closer to transplanting a human head to a new body than we were last year.

Sorry guys.

The rumor of the first human head transplant (or more accurately, the first full body transplant),

was started by Dr Sergio Canavero - and italian chinese neurosurgeon.

He started making headlines a few years ago because he claimed that he'd had found a

technique for successfully amputating a persons head and regrafting it onto a healthy body.

His technique involved making a very sharp incision of the spinal cord and placing the

patient into a state of therapeutic hypothermia to allow the body to recover.

BUT whilst this technique sounds cool, it's still a long way from solving all the technical

problems of a head transplant.

See, to transplant a head, youd have to sever and reattach the spinal cord.

A severed spinal cord usually means paralysis and death, so voluntarily severing one's

spine, moving the head to a completely different body and somehow attaching it….

Is gunna be difficult.

You've also got massive arteries running through your neck, not to mention shittones

of muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons - A head transplant would be a massive operation,

way massiver than the first successful Face transplant successfully attempted last year.

But whatever - is a head transplant mission difficult, or mission impossible.

Well, Dr Canavero has found a willing patient for the procedure - Valery Spiridonov, a Russian

man with Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, a form of spinal muscular atrophy.

Dr Canavero also has published papers on his technique, And claims to have successfully

transplanted a monkey's head.

But, unfortunately, no evidence has been released detailing the monkey head transplant.

And his papers, whilst totally cool, were about nerve regeneration in a patient with

spinal injury.

That's still totally different from nerve transplant to a whole new body.

Sadly, a full head transplant procedure still has a lot of hurdles to jump over before it's

possible, including how to keep the brain alive for hours without blood flow.

It might be possible, eventually, but that time is far, far away from this time.

The real question for Sciq viewers is - if a transplant were possible, would you want

someone elses head on your body, or someone elses body attached to your head!

Shangri La Vancouver Luxury Hotel Room Tour | AMAZING Views...from a BATHTUB? | Vivienne Gucwa - Duration: 5:33.

Hello and welcome to Vancouver, British

Columbia in Canada. I am staying here at

the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown

Vancouver in an executive King room

currently and I'm going to be here for

the week so I figured what better way to

enjoy my stay here than to do a really

cool room tour especially since I think

that maybe this room has some of the

best windows of any room I've been in

around the world.

It has floor-to-ceiling windows which

I'm going to show you in this video and some

of the best views of downtown Vancouver.

Let's get started with the room tour.

A really beautiful part of this room is

the bathroom. I feel like especially when

you go to hotels that are on the level

of Shangri-La you can really tell how

good a hotel is by how much effort they

put into the design of their bathroom

and the amenities and all that kind of

thing. So let me show you what they have

done with their bathroom here. First off

what's really beautiful is that the

bathroom is decked out in gorgeous white

marble. The walls and the floor are

marble. What's really beautiful about the

bathroom is... are you ready? I don't think

you're ready! There are shades

and when you open them, you are treated

to a beautiful view of the surrounding

downtown Vancouver buildings. So if

you're brave enough to keep the shades

open while you bathe then you can be

treated to this really beautiful view of

the surrounding buildings. If you're not

brave enough you can also keep the

shades closed. ShangriLa, of course, keeps

them closed for your privacy

obviously. If any of you know me well and

have been watching or following me on

social media for a long time you know

how much I love coffee and Shangri La

Hotels have Nespresso machines that you

can use. That's a really handy thing to

have as a coffee lover! And then moving

in to the room itself we have this nice

lounge area with a couch. And of course

what makes this room so amazing as I

said in the beginning are the

floor-to-ceiling windows. They have

automatic blinds and shades that you can

open and then you're treated to this

magnificent view. it's really nice

that they have the desk facing the view,

you can lay in the bed and look at the

view too, but another really cool thing is

that they have this balcony. Yeah my room

comes with a balcony. And what's awesome

about it is that the balcony is enclosed.

You know, Vancouver has a tendency

to have some moodiness with its weather

which I personally love because I love

moody rainy weather. Other people may not

love it as much as I do.

But what's really cool about the

enclosed balcony with this unique

architecture is that even like last

night when I got into the room it

was raining and I was still able to sit on

the balcony and enjoy the view, enjoy the air,

and I was completely covered which I

kind of loved. The room just in general

has got this really great cozy vibe

that I love and that it just makes you

want to kind of hang out and stay in the

room - which I mean you want to

explore when you go somewhere - but

sometimes it's nice to just get comfy

and get cozy and have a room that you

can really feel at home in. And this room

definitely has a very homey feel to me.

It feels very comfy. It has this feeling

of kind of being wrapped in a blanket -

you know that feeling you get when it's

just a super rainy day and you just kind

of want to sit in a blanket and be cozy?

That's how this room makes me feel. I

think they've done a really good job

there in terms of giving the room that

feel. But I hope that you enjoyed this

room tour and I hope that you're doing

well wherever you are in the world. If

Blender Tutorial - How to make a 2D Animated Ring Circle for Intros - Duration: 10:00.

hello welcome on back to TutsByKai

I'm Kai and today we're getting started

making a 2d ring graphic. I previously

made a tutorial on how to make a circle

2d motion graphic and it was requested

that I do a more of a ring style, so

pretty much just have a circle in the

middle of it... so that's all we're going

to do today so we're going to get

started and delete the default cube with

the delete and left click, the lamp same

way and the camera. we're going to hit 1

on our numpad I'm using the middle mouse

button to move around my scene by the

way; clicking on it and we're gonna hit one on

my numpad to go into the front-facing

view, we're gonna go to create and scroll

down until you find the camera and click

camera, we're going to drag that back and

hit 0 to go into the camera's view

things are going to get a bit different

here than the first tutorial this is

where things change a bit so we're going

to add in a plane, we're going to drag

this open a little bit, we're going to add

in a plane just like we did before plane

and we're gonna hit R X 90 on our keyboard

to rotate that on the x-axis 90 degrees

I'm going to zoom in and hit tab on our

keyboard... this brings up the edit mode

and now what we need to do is we need to

add in two cuts on the on the on the z

and the x-axis so the way we do this is

we go to tools and then hit loop cut and

slide now this is a tool that we can use

to cut an object in half. so we're going

to add one there, we're just gonna click

and this pink line appears once you go to the

edge of the of an

object goes pink so we're going to hit

one there boom we're just gonna click

so I can drag this around, so we're

going to right click to cancel that

movement and I'm going to add another

loop cut and slide just one right there

right on the edge and then right click

to cancel the movement so now we have

four squares pretty much is what you're

seeing right? four squares and what we

can do with these is do what we need to

do (laughs) so we need to add in one more loop

cut and slide I'm going to add that

right here as you can tell it's

segmented by by the cuts so we could cut

directly on the center before but now we

have a few more options so we're going

to cut right there once there

boom so now we have all the vertices

we need we're going to is going to

delete all of these that we don't need

because we don't need any of these

except for the first two we don't need

anything but this one and this one we

need the top one and the one right here

in the middle there so we're going to

delete all of these other vertices

because we don't need them they're gone

all right so now we pretty much just

have this line and I know you're

thinking Kai how do you make a circle

from a line the same way we've done it

before

and the way we do as we go over to the

modifiers tab and we're going to add

modifier and go to screw look at that

boom now we instantly have a ring 2d

graphic so pretty much this is where it

gets back on the same track as being the

same as my previous tutorial whew didn't

see that I'll put a link up I put a card

up on the screen right about now and

you'll be able to see that if you need

to see it so pretty much what we just

did was we made a a screw screw pretty

much just takes two vertices and in

rotates them and tell it just

duplicates them there, duplicate them

there there there if I hit apply on

this you can see that all of the

vertices go like this but it's very very

low resolution I'm going to undo that

it's very very low steps it's only 16 so

we're going to drag this all the way up

to 512 512 is the max it this is nice on

the steps for viewing it but if I

render this like this as you can tell it

still looks like the 16 by 16 because we

didn't up because we didn't up the

render step so we need update as well

make sure you don't forget that that's

very important so now we pretty much

have a donut or if you want to if you

want to lower this a lot more you can

make an actual screw like a bolt looks

pretty cool

so let's put that back up now the way we

animate this is we go to the zero frame

make sure it says it says 0 on the start and

we're going to do the same thing we did

before so we're going to put this on

zero zero on the zero frame and we're

going to hit I on our keyboard make sure you hover

your cursor inside the angle box and hit

I on your keyboard and then we're going

to go to the fifth frame and we're going

to type in 250 oops 250 and then we're

going to hit I just like that right oh I

seem to have lost seem to have lost a

plane there

I'm on the wrong I'm on the wrong layer

right there that was weird all right so

uh huh make sure that says 215 hit on

your keyboard to insert that keyframe so

now we have it going from being 0 to 250

so now we needed to finish up we're

going to the 15th frame give it a bit of

time to finish up and we're going to 360

hit 360 on your keyboard hit I now we

have the full the full animation here

this is what it does... boom just like that perfect

right if you want to change this

thickness the way you do this is really

cool

if you go back into tab mode as you can

tell if you drag this bottom vertice or

the top vertice if you drag this bottom

vertice you can make it smaller on the fly

right there it's amazing this is super

super handy stuff and the way we can

animate this it's actually as you can

tell you can't animate in tab you can

edit in edit mode you can't add

keyframes in edit mode which is a shame

by how we work around that as we go over

here to the data tab object data and we

hit and we click that now this this

whole panel brings up shape keys shape

keys is something we can use to insert

keyframes in edit mode which is super

cool stuff so we're going to add in not

an edit mode because we can't do an edit

mode we can click this plus over here

twice hit that plus twice to bring up basis

and key 1 now pretty much because this

was nothing it did nothing we have to

animate this ourselves so pretty much

this basis is telling it's telling this

plane this circle now now we need to

keep it the way it is and then key 1 is

saying we need to change it so what we

need to change it to is this when you

hit tab and we need to drag this to this

top vertice up here but as you can tell

I can't get that perfect there's always

going to be a bit of a line there if I

render this excuse me if I drag the

value up and then render this you can

see you can see there's a line there

instead of trying to get this perfect

you know scrolling all the way in and

you know getting it perfect like that

I'm never going to get it 100% perfect

so let's undo that a way we can get is

absolutely 100% perfectly is we can add

uh... we can add in snap mode the magnet

down here if you click that and then we

make sure this is on vertex mode

then we move this up as you can tell it

snaps right to that vertice so now it's

perfect so if we release that, hit tab

again you can tell that this line is

completely gone if I if I get rid of

that you can't see the line at all the

line is no longer there you can't see it

anymore a hundred percent perfect lined

up perfectly but now the problem is is

like I won't be able to grab this guy

because there's nothing for me to grab

it's it's completely scaled to zero so I

have to hit this plane up here

if I hit plane then you should be able

to grab that that bad boy once again so

now the way we animate this is we go to

the zero frame and make sure this value's

on one and then hit I hover your cursor

inside this box and hit I now we're

going to go to the fifth frame or your

Render you can always switch on over to

cycles since we didn't add any materials

anything like that and then hit on

motion blur make sure that's on because

this motion blur is a lot better than

the blender render motion blur so we're

going to make sure that says Ambient

Occlusion make sure this is all the way

black... hit use nodes so now we have our

100% stark white circle in our black

background with the perfect motion blur

that is good I'm going to use Cycles
