Thank you / How we can help - Duration: 6:50.
Hi everyone!
It's been almost a month since I uploaded my coming out video on Youtube
So I decided that I finally need to put myself together and make this video
I would say a huge thank you to everyone
for your support and love
for all the comments and words of gratitude, and of course, for your stories!
Because I received many stories where people shared that their children are gay, lesbian or transgender
and some people are sharing their personal stories
even those people who are still...
I forgot how to say it in Russian
Even those who still haven't told their parents
I also want to apologize for my Russian - for the last seven years I've been speaking very little Russian
Since I came to Canada I've been speaking English 99% of my time
So, I even think mostly in English
So I'm very sorry if I say something wrong or use expressions that sound funny or incorrect
Please forgive me, I will try very hard to speak good Russian
In this video, besides thanking you, I wanted to draw your attention to several things -
If you go back and watch my coming out video, you'll notice that I never use the Russian word "straight"
I would like to explain to our non-russian speaking audience, that in Russian vernacular
the word "heterosexual" is exactly the same word as "natural"
And I, for example, don't agree, that heterosexual relationships are "natural"
So, our society is telling us, that heterosexual relationships are natural,
and what we are is not natural
For me, for my being, heterosexual relationships are not natural
So, what I mean is that I don't want to be with women (not talking about friendship)
I consciously replaced the word "straight" (Rus. "natural") to "heterosexual"
Because words mean a lot. What we use in our speech changes the society around us.
I also want to say, that I wasn't clear in my coming out video
and many people think that I am currently in Canada
In reality, I am studying violin in Chicago as a masters student at a university
So I also want to apologize for not being clear with that in my video
I guess after editing a 17-minute long video
and piecing it all together
I simply couldn't remember what I said and what I didn't
So again, I'm sorry that I wasn't clear!
In one of the message that I received - and I got many of them from many people
And I'm very thankful to all of you for all the messages, kind wishes and for sharing your stories
I am still amazed and wake up every day to more messages from friends I already made
or from new friends, who just saw my video
So, in one of the messages I received, I was asked - how can we help the Russian LGBT society?
And I have been reflecting on this question for the last two weeks
So for the last two weeks I've been thinking how we all can help
I contacted some of the LGBT activists in Russia and here, in Canada and the US
And I still don't have a lot of information about it
I know some organizations that help LGBT
and if you know any, then please, comment and share any links in the comment section and tell us how we can help
I think that the first thing we can do is being much more vocal
If you are LGBT or support LGBT, then please, if you are in a safe place to openly speak about it
then speak about it
If you know anyone who needs your support, and you are LGBT or support LGBT
then also speak up and be open about it
Because in many cases, like I said in my video,
I often didn't even know who was on my side and who was supportive
But again, if you are not in a situation where you can be open and safe,
It's better to be quiet and wait for the moment when you won't be scared for your well-being
I will also put some links below, where you can find info on Russian LGBT Organizations that help kids
they are often pretty small, but they always need our help
I want to add, that we are living in times when we can't afford sitting and not speaking up
when we see that someone is being treated unjustly
So if you are seeing that someone is treating another person badly
simply because they have a different skin color, or they speak differently, or they are of another nationality or faith
If we won't do anything about it then it will never change
It will continue like this
We can't change this world for the better if we won't be trying to change it for the better right now
Right now, like never before do we need to stop pointing finger
and stop any kind of hatred towards other people, who are different
I'd like to talk to my Christian audience and say that
Jesus told us to love everyone around us
And even if someone around us is gay or lesbian or transgender or asexual
we still must love them
Because He never said that there were exceptions for this rule
He never gave this exception
And also, you just need to stop lying to yourself
Because you don't hate gays due to your religion, or your "traditionalism"
or your culture.
You simply hate them because you are so full of hatred towards others and so full of misunderstanding
that you don't even try or want to understand them
Think about it - how many gay friends do you have?
i bet the number isn't too big
And now think - how many gay friends do you have, that you sat down
for two hours to talk about life and didn't try to change them?
And now tell me - how many gay friends do you have, who you don't see as monsters but just humans when you talk to them?
If your number is less than 5, then you are not qualified to judge other people for being gay
And if your number is more than 5, then you probably can't hate gay people
Again, I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all the kind words, comments, for your support and love
and especially for your stories - it's wonderful and I'm still getting and reading them
I'm so happy to be reading them!
Thank you so so much!
And I hope to see you in my next video. Bye!
And to everyone, who stayed until the very end - I love you all, my dear unicorns :)

Fashion photoshoot for a special occasion - The Rapalje Show Episode 7 - Duration: 6:55.
In this video we show you a photoshoot we did for a very special occasion
And I also respond to your reactions on the video we did last week
Hello, I'm Maceál from Rapalje
And thank you very much for your response to last week's video
where I explain how to submit subtitles to our videos
or the videos from other Youtube movies
And you did a tremendous job by translating in many languages
some of our videos
Some music videos and some Rapalje Show videos
And I also got some comments on that
From Malwina:
So that's the reason that I didn't tie my hair in this video
I used to have short hair when I was younger
Only in the last ten years or more I'm wearing long hair
And I still have to get used to it
I really like to tie it up because it's much more convenient for me
And I can move around better and I can see more at the sides
And now for the rest of the show, sorry to Malwina,
I go to tie it up like this
This is how I like to wear my hair personally
In a couple of months we are going to Brazil
And we are really looking forward to it
And in the meantime we some contacts from people from Brazil
To help us out. To get noticed there
And to have the people understand what we are talking about
in this Rapalje Show and also some lyrics from texts
And the fans in Brazil also had some requests
By doing some subtitles for songs
And music videos we have here on YouTube
Thank you very much Ane Mota
And a special thank you very much to Palloma
She really helped us out with subtitles and also starting the fanclub
Together with Ane Mota. So thank you very much for supporting us so much
for our concerts and to get noticed in Brazil
See you in July. I'm really looking forward to it
Then we got a comment from an Italian guy
I also did some work when I was younger in Italy
And we also did some concerts in Italy
And Gio Tra wrote to me, in Dutch
What a coincidence!
I just translated one of your live videos in Italian
And you uploaded this video today
Let me tell you. That was a nice and funny exercise for me
I am practicing for my Dutch exams for next month
By the way. it's the first time I translate a YouTube video
I don't know how YouTube works with subtitles
Will somebody else check my translation?
You, The YouTube staff?
I hope that some day I can watch a show from you
Greetings from Italy
It's like this: When you upload subtitles
I will get a message from YouTube
And it asks me to review the subtitles
So I can check if the subtitles are kind of okay
And if I can approve them
And, eh, until now they were all very good
Thank you very much for all the subtitles
And if you want to know how this subtitles work
Just check the link in the subscriptions
And then you can also do some subtitles for us or for somebody else
I also got a big present
Let's unwrap it
Oh, It's exiting
Dear Rapalje, again many thanks for your co-operation to the photoshoot last week
You look great in the pictures, love from Adinda
Wow, yes, we did a photoshoot
okay
This is nice, beautiful
I love it
Ahh! This is crazy, so much! There you go
And more
And more
Pepperonis
Cheese
I have to cook, I can't cook. But this is all ingredients for something
Italian
Cheese bites
Sapori
Bruchetta
Olives
Pano rustico
Crunchy roasted
Pomodori secchi
Limoncello
Italian cooking
I really have to learn to cook Italian
Wow, olive oil, and..
Thank you very much Adinda for these nice presents
And now you will see a short video about our shoot we've done
And in the descriptions below you will get the link to her Facebook profile
And see what this photoshoot is all about
And as soon as her book arrives we'll come back to this
So be easy and free
When you're drinking with me
I'm a man you won't meet everyday

【Ice Qream】Important announcements from Ice Qream. - Duration: 2:04.
Hello everyone!
This is an announcement to say that, I, Tomoko
will graduate from Ice Qream in May.
It's not because I don't like Ice Qream I'm leaving,
it's just because I don't have enough time with school
for dancing and signing with them.
From May, Ice Qream will be only made of 4 members,
but we hope you will still support us!
Tomoko will not be in a medley that we are making for C-ute,
but her last song with us will be Killing Me Softly from Tokyo Girl's Style.
We really love Tomoko, and we are sad to see her leave,
but we will still see each other.
Stay friends!
But we will miss her very much !
Also we have a second announcement to make!
So, Millie, Coco and I will be going to Japan in May!
Millie and I will stay there for 6 weeks, and
Coco will stay there until next January, so it's a long time!
Also, we will try to vlog a bit on our social media page while we are in Japan,
so if you don't follow us, please follow us!
Thank you!
Because Coco is spending some months in Japan
and Vicky is also going to Japan, but to Italy after that,
We will do some duo and trio songs.
We planned ahead a lot of new songs for summer already,
so you will not miss us too much!
Thank you for your support and your love!
Please keep going, Ice Qream is great!
Thank you for watching !
This was...
Ice Qream !
Bye bye ~

Drawing Animals in the Library! - Duration: 17:38.
- [Adam] Where are you going?
Wanna go up to the library?
(Steph laughing)
It's right here if you wanna go inside.
He says he wants to do some research
on drains and plumbing.
- [Steph] Oh, bye.
- [Adam] He said, "My toilet's broke."
- Hi Art Friends.
- [Adam] Hello Art friends.
- Today we're at the library and we're gonna
be drawing some animals.
- [Adam] Yeah, so be quiet guys.
- Are you still filming?
Oh, okay.
I thought you were shutting me up.
(laughing)
So we're just gonna look for a few books first,
to try and see--
- [Adam] We're gonna see if we can find anything in here
to do with animals.
Ooh, four steps to lower my cholesterol.
- That might not be the book we need for today.
- [Adam] I'll be checking that one out later.
That's not an animal.
Ten Million Aliens.
You know guys, we did our very first Doodle Date
in this very same library.
And I think I actually picked up that book.
- I thought it seemed familiar.
- [Adam] No joke, I was like,
"Where have I seen that before?"
- [Steph] Oh no, the dog book.
- [Adam] Dropped me dog.
- [Steph] Okay, we've got dogs, they're definitely animals.
Do we pick the spider book?
- [Adam] Ew.
Whoa, whoa.
I'll spare your eyes if you're scared of spiders.
How about the frozen planet one?
There's polar bears and penguins and stuff in that one.
- [Steph] Yeah, I guess we can do it.
- [Adam] That's quite a big one, yeah, be careful.
So we've got dogs, arctic life--
- [Steph] What about Nick Baker's Bug Book?
- [Adam] Yeah, Nick Baker looks like
a pretty trustworthy guy.
Maybe we should--
- [Steph] Oh, there was a hedgehog.
Most of it's a load of bees though.
- It's just got a really big section on bees to pad out.
- There's a lot of ones on British birds.
- [Adam] Okay, birds seem good.
You guys have been asking for British birds for,
I can't remember how long.
So--
- [Steph] That one's got quite a few nice little ones in.
- [Adam] Oh, yeah, we could have done some of them there.
- [Steph] Yeah, okay.
- [Adam] Bugs, birds, and like arctic things?
That's quite a big range.
- I was really hoping to find an animal encyclopaedia.
But, you know--
- [Adam] The library doesn't have one.
- Bugs, birds, and frozen animals.
- [Adam] We'll make our own encyclopaedia.
You're even putting the books down quietly.
Oh, okay, (mumbles).
Can you explain to me why there's a really big hole
in this table?
- [Steph] It's for your finger.
- [Adam] Wooo.
Okay guys, so the plan is,
what we're gonna do, is we're gonna pick a book.
But, the twist is, right, I am gonna flick through
the pages and whichever one it lands on,
you have to draw it.
- Okay.
- [Adam] Can you deal with that?
- Okay.
So you're gonna do that for me.
- [Adam] Yeah, I'll try and do it one handed here.
Oh, need to get a good, there we go.
You ready?
(mumbles)
(chuckling)
What a handsome chap.
- [Steph] So you want me to draw this dog?
- [Adam] What's he called?
- [Steph] A Sealyham Terrier.
- [Adam] A Sealyham Terrier.
It sounds like an element you'd find on the periodic table.
- Well since I'm using this book--
- [Adam] It's full of Sealyham.
- [Steph] I'm gonna give you a bird to draw.
- [Adam] Oh no, I didn't agree to this.
- [Steph] A Tree sparrow.
- [Adam] Oh, I like sparrows, okay.
So that's mine.
Hey honey, do you know how you put together
a yellow fence?
- No.
- [Adam] With a Yellowhammer.
(laughing quietly)
That took you too long.
The comedic timing has ended.
- [Steph] Okay, so I guess it's time for me
to draw this dog.
- [Adam] His nose.
- [Steph] He has some kind of like a little beard thing.
He's also got a lot of fuzz on his head there.
- [Adam] He's got a bit of Bob Ross going
on on top of his head.
- [Steph] Little stumpy tail.
And his legs are really stubby.
- [Adam] Where are they?
It looks like they stuck a dog's head on a sheep's body.
- [Steph] Yeah, he does.
- [Adam] You can give him like a
little plasticizing poop tail.
- [Steph] It is a weird little lumpy tail.
Adam's here, by the way.
- It's me.
- [Steph] I don't think you've been in it yet.
- Oh.
I've lost the sparrow page.
Oh no.
Let's just refer to the index.
(Steph laughing)
It was called a Tree sparrow, right?
- [Steph] Oh, you weren't joking.
- This is what we used to do before Google was around.
Back in my day.
(Steph chuckling)
A Tit, bearded.
Thrushes.
Oh dear, this is the bird book, isn't it?
(laughing)
Tree sparrow.
Page 87.
- [Steph] Have you figured it out?
- Yeah, see?
And that's why we don't rely on search engines.
Now, the Tree sparrow or as they say
in Latin (speaks Latin).
That's what it says, (speaks Latin).
It's kind of shaped like a jellybean, right?
- [Steph] Right.
- [Adam] With the little tail sticking out the end.
So that's the kind of shape I'm gonna go with.
There's kind of like this and it comes out.
And he's got a beautiful round head.
- [Steph] That's a very nice jellybean.
- [Adam] Yeah, but again, when I very first started
drawing, I couldn't really draw anything
when you very first started teaching me.
And Steph was super patient with me.
And this was one of the first exercises that
you ever taught me.
It was trying to break things down into shapes
and it helps with like everything.
Not just animals, but seriously guys.
Get in with the tail a little bit and his wings overlap
here, so when you put the basic shapes where they're going,
you can just sort of add all these other little bits
as you go along.
Before you know it, you've got a bit of
a Tree sparrow going on.
And then guys, because it looks kind of like realism
right now, but because you've got the basic shape,
you can then go in and--
- [Steph] Give him like a big cartoony eye.
- [Adam] Like exaggerate stuff, like give him a really
like rawr.
(Steph laughing)
It does feel so nostalgic being in here again though.
Because our first Doodle Date we didn't even talk.
- [Steph] Yeah, we didn't.
- I guess it's 'cause it's a library,
but we were kind of nervous.
(Steph chuckling)
- [Steph] You never shut up now.
(chuckling)
- Put me on mute.
Don't put me on mute, please.
I'm trying to give you good advice.
Please, don't go.
And then you can kind of just go in for your detaily bits.
- [Steph] Aw.
- [Adam] We erase his bum, 'cause you can't see
his bum from this angle.
- [Steph] You're drawing that so much faster.
I haven't even done anything else on my weird dog yet.
- That's the thing, if you can get really good
at identifying shapes and things,
you can draw so many things so quickly as well.
Shapes are like amazing.
So what have you got for your little doggy?
- [Steph] A big nose.
- [Adam] He does have quite the snout.
- [Steph] I have a feeling it might look weird when
I'm done drawing it, but just because the dog itself
looks so weird.
- [Adam] If I was gonna draw a human version of him
he'd be like an older guy with a handlebar moustache.
You see it?
- [Steph] He does have a lot of facial hair going on.
- [Adam] He's got that beautiful afro up top.
- [Steph] His head looks so small to the rest of him,
but that's true to his breed.
But it looks a bit--
- [Adam] I'll have you know I'm a thoroughbred
and my head's tiny for a reason.
(Steph chuckling)
Now get the poop tail.
- [Steph] And his little tiny, fuzzy, legs.
- [Adam] He's got right little stumps, doesn't he?
Guys, let me know if you own or have owned
one of these dogs.
- [Steph] Is it real?
(Adam laughing)
- [Adam] Are they real.
- [Steph] It's in a library so it seems pretty legit.
- [Adam] Great Photoshop, bro.
It kinda looks like he's got a lot of,
they kind of look like tentacle udders.
- [Steph] Now, I'm using very limited supplies
in my pencil case.
If you'd seen my pencil case earlier,
you'd know what's in here.
And I fancied lining this with a brush.
So I'm using this ink wash.
It's kind of difficult to get thin lines with it
because the brush is quite thick.
But you can get some very nice line variations.
- [Adam] Oh there it goes, yeah.
Make sure you get some nice variation on this stump.
I promise I'll try and pick you a cute thing next.
Promise.
- [Steph] Does he look cute?
- [Adam] He kind of looks like that uncle
that you don't visit.
(laughing)
Everyone's got an uncle that they don't visit.
It's like it's Uncle Roofard.
- Roofard.
- [Adam] He wants you to milk his tentacles.
- I can't even see what his feet look like.
They're just little hairy--
- [Adam] Just like little stumps.
Oh there you go, that looks good.
- [Steph] He doesn't have paws, he's just all hair.
Yours is looking really cute.
- [Adam] I'm blending the beak.
- [Steph] And these little branch details
that you've put in.
- [Adam] He hasn't been struck by lightning.
It's branches, there's totally branches back there
though that look really cute.
So I wanted to try it myself, but it just looks
really quite alarmed he's been struck by lightning.
I'm gonna try and do some of his dark bits around his eye.
- [Steph] Yeah, 'cause birds have quite
unique markings on them.
That's how you can make them look different
from one another.
- [Adam] That's true.
I'm not very good at drawing birds though.
- [Steph] Well you've got all the basic shapes
and now it's just the details.
- [Adam] See that's the thing guys,
you can kind of cheat so easily.
If you get the basic shape down,
so anyone can be like, "Oh that's a dog",
or, "Oh, that's a cat."
If you got the shape right you can kind of make most
of it up.
That's what I do.
Oh, he's got a bit of a dark chest.
Get that chest hair in.
Then the rest of the bits are kind of gradient
into the dark and it's kind of weird to show.
It's something kind of like this.
Are you ready to make another animal?
- Yeah, time to pick another one.
- [Adam] I'm sorry I chose tentacle dog.
I'll try and pick a better one this time.
I'm gonna pick you one from this book.
- [Adam] The frozen planet book.
Okay.
So this is me, right?
- Yeah, this is for you.
- [Adam] Oh geez.
- Oh, well that's not an animal, that's a flower.
- Oh was that a flower?
Okay, we'll let you off.
- One of those owls, you know we saw those ones before?
- [Adam] Yeah, we went to a zoo quite a while ago.
- [Steph] It was a few years ago.
They have a really big circular face.
- It looks like someone's just like caved
his poor face in.
What a beautiful concave head you have.
Okay, I'm gonna pick you one now.
You haven't given me a lot to go with.
- [Steph] A very beautiful side profile.
- It's got a very moist beak.
I don't know what he's been doing.
- [Steph] I think the first half are like where
the birds all are.
- Congratulations, you have to draw every bird on here.
(laughing)
- [Steph] That might be hard.
- Okay, I'll try it a little bit earlier.
- [Steph] Oh, you get to pick which one then.
- [Adam] Wheatear.
(laughing)
I think that he looks cool in that pose.
He's giving you like the look over the shoulder.
He looks like he knows he's good looking.
So you get to draw the Wheatear.
- [Steph] Okay.
- [Adam] You're gonna place him on the, oh.
I didn't really plan mine ahead very well.
I might have to use a different page on mine.
- [Steph] I wonder if I've got your (mumbles).
- [Adam] Try and get his beautiful looking over
the shoulder posing.
- [Steph] Yeah, I like that pose.
- [Adam] I am beautiful.
What a cute little bird.
- [Steph] I might have him looking up at that dog.
- [Adam] Can we call him Wilfred?
Wilfred Wheatear.
- [Steph] The Wheatear.
Should I put like wheat in his ears?
(mumbles)
- Your tentacles look like
they need a milking.
I'm just reading about him.
He's apparently one of most well insulated birds.
So he knows how to keep cosy.
And he has acute binocular vision.
You'd think so with like massive domes like those,
wouldn't you?
Okay, let's try and draw him, shall we?
Haven't got much to go on with the shape.
He kind of looks like a thumb.
- [Steph] You could probably draw one on your thumb.
- He's kind of thumb shaped guys.
Like, again, going with shapes, he kind of
looks like a thumb.
And this bit looks like the thumb nail.
- [Steph] Right.
- So we can go off something like that.
He might just turn into a weird thumb bird,
but we could try.
Oh I love that, look at that.
He's got like a right little feather goatee going on.
Look at that.
- [Steph] He does kind of have like a little beard.
- [Adam] We'll give some kind of indication there.
- [Steph] You really have drawn like a thumb nail.
- [Adam] Hey, it's a thumb.
That's what it looks like to me.
He looks like a big thumb bird.
I'm gonna stylize it a little bit.
But, this whole part will be fun.
Should we leave him like really shocked looking?
The other bird was really cute, so this guy
can be like er.
He's just seen the other bird get struck by lightning
and so he's like, "Oh my God."
How's Wheatear doing?
- [Steph] I wanna try out some of his colouring
'cause I think that's a big part of what makes
him look like his species.
- [Adam] His colours are really nice.
Like, what's the colour of his body?
Like this black white.
- [Steph] There's like a blue to it.
But I've only got highlighter blue, so he's gonna
be done with highlighters I reckon.
I'm just putting in this fur is darker little details.
- [Adam] You use a brush pen way more confidently than I do.
- It's only 'cause I use them all the time.
You use pencils way more confidently than I do.
- [Adam] The good thing about those is that you
can erase them.
Oh what a beautiful little bird friend.
That looks like something that you'd see in like
maybe a kid's book or something.
I really like the style of that.
- [Steph] Can we have a look?
- Yeah, are you ready for his face reveal?
(slow music)
- [Steph] Oh wow, he looks very handsome.
I like all the details that you put in it.

- [Steph] Poodle date.
- [Adam] Wow, what a specimen.
You ready to have a frozen planet animal?
- Yeah, but pick me one different to what you've had.
- Okay.
You ready?
- [Steph] Yeah.
I picked that one.
- You picked the same page.
Okay, we'll try again.
Oh my God.
- [Steph] Whoa.
- This is weird.
- [Steph] We're so similar.
- Hey, uh.
- [Steph] Are those penguins?
- Those are some dirty penguins.
Look at the mullet on that one.
(fast paced music)
Don't jump on the (mumbles).
I hope they're okay.
(fast paced music)
- [Steph] That is quite the hairdo.
- [Adam] Can you draw him?
- [Steph] No, I should draw one of these.
- [Adam] Draw Bruce.
- [Steph] Why is he Bruce?
- 'Cause he's got a really nice mullet.
Hey Bruce is in that picture too.
Another good thing guys, is that the poodles
are basically shapes.
The butt is a circle, the legs are like
tube rectangle things, that's a circle.
Those are like triangles.
- [Steph] Super shapely.
- [Adam] Super shape dog.
- [Steph] I'm jealous, I wanna draw that.
- [Adam] How's that dirty penguin coming?
Burbs, is that you?
- [Steph] I've drawn the strange little hairdo
and putting his facial marking in.
- [Adam] He's like, "Damn!"
- [Steph] I don't know how accurate this picture is
as a whole to nature
'Cause I don't think you'd see a penguin next
to this thing and this.
- [Adam] I'm thinking now we've made here an alien duck.
I think it's awesome.
I think all the other (mumbles) ones are really cute.
- [Steph] Oh, that's looking really good.
- [Adam] But do you like it?
- [Steph] He's got such a sassy poodle face.
- [Adam] See, that's why I search the old poodles.
Seriously, look at that face.
It's like, "Oh, you know you want me."
"I'm all that and a bag of chips."
I'd roll around in the mud with it then we'd become friends.
- [Steph] If you're looking for someone to roll around
in the mud with.
- [Adam] Go with Bruce.
This looks a lot like fun.
It looks like he's done a load of poos.
(laughing)
- [Steph] Stop it.
- He's like, "It was the Wheatear, not me."
It's like a mystery, it's like, "This fall, poo done it?"
I wish you'd like pick that one.
Don't you think he kind of looks like Mr. Burns?
- [Steph] He has an evil name, so--
- [Adam] Heron-patient killer of the marshes.
He's like, "Excellent."
(laughing)
- [Steph] If you guys wanna see us drawing some
of our animals in videos, we've got an entire playlist.
- We'll put it somewhere here for you to watch, guys.
- [Steph] And subscribe if you enjoyed the video as well.
And click the little notification bell.
- Yeah, click it, it's down there somewhere.
So you ring it so I can hear it.
- [Steph] And here's the finished artwork.
Yours are on three pages.
- [Adam] Sparrow.
- [Steph] Oh no.

Episode 27 - For the Birds - Duration: 11:28.
Hi, I'm Mackenzie and this is Our Wyoming Life
Coming up on Our Wyoming Life New baby chickens arrive at the ranch and
we them set up for their new life in the KFC witness protection program
Then we pick up our processed meat from the butcher and get it ready for sale and shipment,
locally and all over the United States.
Later we sit back and watch the miracle of birth as one cow lets us sit in on the entire
process
Here on the ranch we raise and care for anywhere between 35- 50 chickens which we raise solely
for their eggs, these eggs we collect, wash and sell as farm fresh eggs to our local customers.
To be perfectly honest, we lose money on chickens.
They food they eat costs more than we sell eggs for but they help us by keeping our product
in customers refrigerators where they hopefully remember that we also have bacon, which would
go great with those eggs.
It's a big week for chickens as it's the time of year when we get new baby chicks.
Every year we order around 20 new chickens to replenish our flock.
Younger chickens lay more eggs and chickens don't live long, although the world's
oldest chicken lived to 16 years old, her name was Matilda.
Between foxes, coyotes, skunks, raccoons and god knows what else our oldest chicken is
probably 4 and they live in this chicken coop, which one of our neighbors called the chicken
taj mahal.
Before I built this in 2010 they lived in 6 by 6 hut.
Now there are roosts, separate rooms for separating chickens and ducks and geese and an automatic
watering system.
Our chickens have roommates.
Loud and annoying roommates, its kinda like being in college but they all get along for
the mostpart.
Chickens lay their eggs in these nest boxes and we collect them everyday, in fact, the
girls are getting old enough, that its become an item on their chore list, which means I
only have to do it 95 percent of the time now.
After collecting eggs we take them to the kitchen in the shop, where they are stored
until they are packaged and sold.
Commercial egg producers that produce the eggs that you buy in the grocery store at
least in the US by law have 30 days to package an egg after its laid, then another 30days
to sell that egg after its been cartoned, and studies have shown that your average grocery
store egg might be 45 days old or more by the time you buy it.
Ours our usually sold and in our customers fridge by the time they are a week old.
If you like eggs and have never had a farm fresh egg, I urge you to head out and find
a local producer and try some farm fresh eggs the difference is amazing and you can even
see it.
Our new chicks arrive by the post office, shipped from a hatchery in Missouri.
The post office will call us when they get in and we will go to town to pick them up,
but before they get here we have some work to do.
This is our chicken hutch, I built it a few years, to give us a place in the shop to raise
chicks until they are big enough to go in the chicken house.
Its on wheels because, well honestly, its always in the way.
First we fill the bottom with wood shavings, to make it easier to clean and we add a small
feeding tray, filling it with baby chicken food, a specialize formula of food to help
them grow.
The phone call comes at 4am and Erin heads in to town to pick up the baby chickens.
Upon arrival home we open the box and give the babies a drink of sugar water to get them
a bit of energy after their long journey, of course, Cheddar our house cat keeps a close
and interested eye on what is going on.
After all the chicks have a sip of their energy drink, its time to take them to the heated
shop, where they will settle into their digs for the next few weeks.
We get some warm water ready for them in these little gravity fed waters and move the chicks
in.
After adding a heat lamp to keep them warm, we close the door and push their house out
of the way and welcome them to ranch, where hopefully they will live a long and productive
life.
While we are talking about local food produced here on the ranch we cant leave out beef and
pork.
Each year we raise 6 steers and anywhere between 5 and 10 hogs.
Some of them are presold to customers that would like to have a full animal, either for
themselves or to split with family.
The rest are loaded up and taken to a USDA inspected meat processing facility, which
we did a few a weeks ago.
Now its time to head back and pick up our fresh beef and pork.
Live weight was 4 tons of beef and a ton of pork.
I will be returning today with about half of that in packaged meat.
But first we need to clean out our freezers of last years meat.
We always try to give our customers the freshest meat possible and because there are many in
the area that are less fortunate than we are we donate our older meat to the local council
of community services where it will be used to feed anyone who wants a warm meal.
We box up about 250 lbs of roasts, steaks, and hamburger, load it in our trailer and
take it to where it can do some real good.
Then I hit the road and upon arrival start loading hundreds of pounds of meat, it takes
about an hour to load it all up, afterward I turn around and head home.
Where it all comes off the trailer and sorted in to one of our many freezers.
I'll tell ya, after loading and unloading all day, I'm tired and sore.
Each one of these boxes weigh between 50 and 70 pounds filled with bacon, porkchops, t-bones,
ribeyes, roasts, ham….I'm getting hungry.
Over the next year this beef and pork will be sold not only locally at farmers market
but all across the US as we package and ship a taste of Wyoming beef and pork to many waiting
tastebuds.
If you have never visited your local farmers market, I urge you to do so this summer.
Support your local producer, buy vegetables, eggs, honey and even meat in fact you'll
be surprised at what can be available to you at the local level all around the world.
I guarantee the difference you will taste and you'll never forget.
I'll give you fair warning, this next segment, shows the live birth of a baby calf in all
its glory and I would understand it you don't want to watch it, but I will tell you its
not gross, its not bloody or disgusting, bodily fluids are not shooting all over the place,
in reality is the conclusion of a long 9 months for this cow and her calf and the first chance
to meet and love on each other.
I'll shut up for a bit, and let you enjoy just one of the hundreds of miracles that
happen every year on the ranch.
Thanks for joining us.
I hope this episode has inspired you to try some of the local farm raised and grown products
that are available all over the world and in your area.
Find your local farmers market and support your local producers.
Its not hard to do.
I spend hours every Saturday in the summer at farmers market and its not about people
coming and buying our products, yeah, that's nice but its also about meeting people, answering
questions and showing the difference between what you buy at your grocery store and what
can be locally raised and harvested.
I'm not going to preach at you, you'll do what you want to do, but without your support,
local producers can't succeed, and will fade away and that would be a very sad day.
Thanks for watching, have a great week and I'll see you next time, in Our Wyoming Life.

Ep. 31 Lazy Days And Every Day Chores - Everywhere Together - Duration: 13:11.
Last time in Everywhere Together:
Good morning!
We are stuck in Esperance.
We arrived last Wednesday,
and today is Tuesday.
We were waiting for a package to arrive, but because of the Easter, it kind of delays.
We were hoping it that it arrived till Friday, but today is Tuesday,
so we are going to make the most out of this day
and hope that the package turns out soon enough.
It's good.
Do you wanna present it?
Yes! So, we made some omlette, but we rolled it and put some mozarella in it.
Can you see it?
And some falafel, and veggies.
Nice!
I'm just checking the tracking numbers for two packages we've been waiting for here in Esperance.
Just wanna carry on with our travels, but
it's a long time.
We just got up and realised we are very close to the sea.
I already put the solar up.
Now, let's have some breakfast.
Probably with avocado sandwich.
Avocado with eggs, mmm.
So good.
Yummie!
What do you think we should do today?
What's on your list?
Tell me about it!
I want to build an app.
You want to build an app?
What kind of app?
One that works offline without reception.
Yep!
So, what about after that?
After what? After the app, after the workout, and after..?
The second release, and all the bugfixing.
Like, what's your plan after 20 years?
I don't know.
Start the trip over?
We're just trying out milk alternatives, and we've already tried almond milk, which was quite good,
but now we are trying soy milk, ah, it's rubbish.
I don't like it.
What do you think?
Nah. I want almond milk.
Yeah, almond milk was much better.
It just felt like tofu.
Tofu is not really good with coffee or cocoa.
Ok, I'll be there, thank you.
The small package has arrived.
It's Christmas!
Sandra just went in to the shopping centre, and
I just checked the tracking number for the package I 've been waiting for, and
it's finally changed it says it's in Chadwick, Western Australia, which is the neighbouring town.
Check this!
It's in transit.
And it's in Chadwick.
You know where Chadwick is?
It's the next town.
Yeah! Yay!
It's gonna come today! Finally!
It's been a long wait.
It's been fun though.
We got invited by Jonty last night to their place, and we had a nice dinner and stories, and yeah.
It was awesome! Thank you Jonty!
What's happening there?
We just left Esperance after 9 days,
we are really excited to actually see places outside of Esperance.
So, we are going to Albany now.
Which is about 476 kms away.
See you there!
We are at the Valley of The Giants,
and decided to do this free walk called The Ancient Empire.
And see the bottom of the large trees!
It's about 600 metres, 20 minutes walk if you wanna walk around, and look around.
Take some photos.
This is the Grandma Tingle, it's more than 12 metres in circumference.
Wow!
This is called the Centre Road Crossing Campsite.
There's a little cottage with a fireplace.
We are going to stay here for the night.
So, we're just packing our stuff, getting ready for the night.
Prepping dinner soon, we're gonna have pasta today,
and then watch a movie maybe.
How was it?
So high, I just started shaking and I didn't want to go further.
Yeah.
I'm not sure if I go up. You should try it.
I just climbed half way the Diamond Tree.
And it looks very tall to me.
How will I get down?
I have to climb down all the way.
There's Sandra!
Hi!
How was it? Scary!
What was the view like from 46 metres?
There was a sign there "This was the easy part"!
And the top bit is like, almost vertical.
Did you go up to the top, as well? No, not to the top.
Okay, so that was a little bit scary.
We were at Diamond Tree in Western Australia.
And the worst part was when you were trying to look at the pegs,
and your eyes were focusing to the background.
So, it was changing, yeah your eyes were changing between
the pegs and the background in a very short amount of time!
Did you feel that?
Yeah, then it felt like the pegs were moving and they were not.
It was just the focusing. Yeah, I felt a little bit dizzy at some point.
Let's go to the next one!
We are in Pemberton.
And we just had lunch!
So, we just talked with Peter and realised that we want good weather, so we are gonna faster our trip,
leave out a couple of spots,
and head to Margaret River, and then to Perth, and spend a couple of days there in the sunshine!
Finally, the weather is good to open this package!
It's a DJI Mavic Pro drone,
and we ordered it from UAVMe.
The guy, Bruce just started out his business,
and doing very good initial discounts on DJI products!
Check out his Facebook site in the descriptions below!
So, let's open this package finally! I cannot believe it!
Awesome!
So, here's the drone itself!
Very small!
I just put this here!
Thanks for watching! Please give us a thumbs up!

>> So what do you look to for answers?
Where do you look for guidance?
Who do you look to for answers and for leadership in your life?
Now to be honest, there are a lot of people I meet
and frankly, they just don't feel like they need
any help at all.
They think they've kind of got things figured out,
they've got things under control.
They'd rather figure life out on their own.
As a matter of fact, they even think
it's kind of more adventurous to try to do it by trial and error
and kind of hope that Lady Luck's on their side
and maybe most of their decisions will work out.
But then there are some of us, and I'm one of them,
there's some of us that believe that God wants to guide us
and God wants to lead us and God wants to direct us
and instruct us
to know what is true
and to live according to what is true.
Because let me tell you the cold, hard fact
about your life.
You're gonna basically live your life one of two ways.
You're gonna live your life based on a lie,
even though you may believe the lie is true,
or you're going to live your life according
to what really is true.
Now you may be asking the question
that a lot of people in our culture are asking today.
It's not a new question.
Pontius Pilate asked that question of Jesus
2,000 years ago.
He said to Jesus, "What is truth?"
Great question.
What is truth?
And if you remember, Jesus said in John 14:6,
"I am the truth."
I don't just speak the truth.
I am the truth.
Now Jesus is the truth.
And I believe, and a lot of people believe,
that truth is very simple to define.
Truth is whatever God says is true.
If God says it's true, that's truth.
Now here's the good news.
God has given those of us who want to follow Him a guide,
the Spirit of God,
and given us a source of guidance, the word of God,
to lead us into truth.
However, today what we're gonna do is this.
We're in a series we're calling "Unleashed"
and I wanna talk to you today about how that Holy Spirit
that we've been talking about guides us into truth.
Now let me tell you why the Holy Spirit is important
both for believers and for unbelievers.
You may not be a believer.
You may not be a Christian.
You may not know much about the Bible.
You may not know much about doctrine.
You may be sitting there going,
"I don't know anything about this Holy Spirit."
That's all right.
Trust me, He is very important to you.
He is very crucial to your future,
both now and for all eternity.
Because His major job
is simply to take us to the truth.
His major job is to teach us the truth.
That's why the good news for those of us
who really believe what I'm going to share with you is
we don't have to fly through life blindly.
We don't have to go through life confused.
We don't have to wonder or not we've really discovered
the meaning of why we're here.
We don't really have to know whether or not
we can really live according to truth
because we've got an instructor.
We've got a teacher.
We've got someone who's already said, "If you will let me,
I will guide you into all truth."
So if you brought a copy of God's word or an iPhone
or an iPad or whatever it is that you use,
I want you to turn to a gospel called John.
It's in the New Testament.
There are four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
I want you to turn to John 16.
We're in this series called "Unleashed."
We're looking at the greatest power
that's ever been unleashed in the history of the world,
which is the Holy Spirit.
What we're gonna see today is exactly what the Holy Spirit
wants to do
both in the life of a believer and also in the life
of an unbeliever.
And here's what we're going to learn.
You ready?
The Holy Spirit will show us the truth
so we can know the truth and grow in the truth.
That's what He does.
He will show us the truth so we can know the truth
and we can grow in the truth.
Now the question is: How does the Holy Spirit do that?
How does the Holy Spirit want to work in your life
if you're a believer
or how does He want to work in your life
if you're an unbeliever?
Because you're gonna find out later on
if the Holy Spirit doesn't work in your life as an unbeliever,
you will never become a believer on your own.
You'll never become a believer in Jesus Christ ever.
It doesn't matter what I say,
how I preach,
what anybody else tells you.
You will never go from being an unbeliever to a believer
without the work of the Holy Spirit.
So the question is: What does He do for us
in order to get us to live a life of truth?
Well here's what Jesus is gonna tell us.
Number one: The Holy Spirit will guide us to seek the truth.
He will guide us to seek the truth.
Now let me kind of give you the background
of what's going on.
Jesus has been telling His disciples for a while,
"Guys, I'm not gonna be around much longer.
I'm headed to Jerusalem.
I'm going to the cross.
I'm going to die and I'm gonna leave you."
Now they weren't buying it.
They didn't really believe it.
While they were sticking their heads in the sand,
they were trying to deny it.
But He's trying to get them ready for His leaving
and for the Holy Spirit's arrival.
So in John 16:12, He says this: "I have much more to say to you,
more than you can now bear."
Now that's an incredible statement.
They've been with Jesus three years, every day, 24/7.
They thought they had heard everything He wanted to say
and now Jesus comes along and He says, "Guys,
I haven't even gotten started.
I've not anywhere near emptied my clip.
I've got so much more truth that you need to learn,
so much more truth you need to know.
But the problem is you just can't handle it right now."
Can you just imagine the reaction of the disciples?
I mean for three years it's like they've been under a faucet
and they've been drinking this water of truth for three years.
They had learned more in a day from Jesus, in one day,
than they had learned in all of their lifetimes
from all the rabbis
and all the teachers they'd ever heard.
And yet now Jesus says,
"You know all the things you've learned?
You know all the things I've taught you?
All the things you'd never heard in your life?
Haven't even gotten started.
There is so much more you need to know."
Now do you think that sparked a desire?
Do you think that sparked a hunger in them?
Do you think that made them want to say,
"Well then you can't leave.
You can't go anywhere.
We wanna learn everything you've got to teach us.
We wanna know everything that you want us to know."
And then when they said that, all of a sudden
they start thinking about Jesus leaving
and they get cottonmouth.
They get a knot in the pit of their stomach
the size of a watermelon.
Let me tell you why.
Think about this.
Do you realize in the three years they've been with Jesus
and all those hours and hours and days and days
and weeks and weeks and months and months
of sermons and lessons and doctrine and knowledge
He had taught them,
has it ever occurred to you that Jesus had not written down
one word?
Has it ever occurred to you they didn't write down one word?
And oh by the way, back in that day
there were no voice recorders.
There were no smartphone cameras.
There were no computer files.
There was no digital recording whatsoever.
And now they're getting worried,
not just about seeking the truth but remembering the truth.
They're sitting there thinking, "You've got all this stuff
that you're gonna tell us you haven't told us.
How are we even gonna remember what you have told us?
We've not written down anything."
Then Jesus says this:
"But when He, the Spirit of truth comes,
He will guide you into,"
say that word with me.
All.
He'll guide you into all the truth.
He'll not speak on His own.
He will only speak what He hears
and He will tell you what is yet to come.
Now there are two words that are most important
in that verse I don't want you to miss
and they're the two words right before truth.
Jesus said He will guide you into all the truth.
Not a truth but the truth.
Not some of the truth but all of the truth.
Now here's the question.
So what was Jesus talking about?
Well what was He referring to when He said He'll guide you
into all the truth?
What He was referring to was the second half of this book.
What He was referring to was the New Testament
that had not yet been written.
Everything that would be written down beginning with His birth
to His death to His resurrection to His second coming,
He said don't worry about it.
I'm gonna tell you.
I'm gonna tell the disciples.
I'm gonna tell the apostles.
The Holy Spirit's going to come.
He's gonna teach you everything you need to know
and you're gonna be able to write it down.
Now let me just
kind of get a little deep with you for a minute.
There's a word for what I just told you.
There's a word that describes that doctrine I just told you.
And that word is revelation.
We're not talking about the book of Revelation.
We're talking about the doctrine of revelation.
See when it comes to God's truth,
when it comes to all the truth that we ever need to know
on this earth
about God,
about heaven,
about hell,
about salvation,
about sin,
about Jesus,
about righteousness,
about holiness,
Jesus was saying: Don't worry guys,
I've got it all covered.
The Holy Spirit's going to come.
He'll tell you everything you need to know.
You'll write it down.
It'll all be between the covers of this book.
Now let me just say this.
There may be other things that we would like to know.
There may be other things we know --
we would want to know.
But there's nothing else right now we need to know
except what's in that book right there.
Second thing He does is this.
He will guide you to see the truth.
Not just seek the truth.
He'll guide you to see the truth.
You say, well what do you mean by that?
Real simple.
It is one thing to receive the truth.
It's another thing to understand the truth.
This hit me, okay.
It's not even in my notes.
I just got a wild crazy thought hit me.
How many of you took chemistry in high school?
Okay.
How many of you hated chemistry in high school?
Okay, good.
I hate chemistry.
I don't hate chemists.
I hated chemistry.
You know why?
You know that deal about balancing the equations?
You remember that?
I never did get the hang of that.
I just never got it.
I never quite could get it.
So I got the revelation.
In other words, when I went into class,
my sweet teacher Ms. Hall --
I don't even know if she's living or not.
Ms. Peggy Hall, great teacher.
Ms. Peggy Hall began to teach us about, you know,
the truth about how if you wanna understand chemistry,
you gotta be able to balance an equation.
Well it's one thing to receive that truth.
It's another thing to understand that truth.
And though He was speaking directly to His 12 disciples,
He was actually speaking indirectly
to all of His disciples and applying it to us.
Because truth is useless unless you understand it.
What good does it do to know the truth of quantum physics
if you don't understand quantum physics?
What good does it do to know the truth,
for example, the Bible, but you really don't understand it?
So what Jesus is saying is this: Look.
It's not just the Holy Spirit's job to take us to the truth
and show us the truth.
It's the Holy Spirit's job to teach us the truth
and help us to see the truth.
As a matter of fact, later on the apostle Paul
put it this way in 1 Corinthians.
He said, "What we have received is not the spirit of the world,"
that's different.
"But the...," capital "S", "...Spirit who is from God
so that we may,"
what's that word?
Not just know it.
Understand what God has freely given us.
In other words, this is so important.
God gives through the Holy Spirit truth
to the writers of the Bible.
That's inspiration.
What He gives them to write down,
that's revelation.
How we understand it is illumination.
Okay.
Everybody got it?
It's not balancing equations.
It's not hard, okay?
By inspiration He says okay, I'm gonna remind you
of what He said, what Jesus said.
I'm gonna tell you what He wanted to say.
I want you to write it down.
When you write it down, that's revelation.
That's the truth we need to know.
How do you understand it?
That is illumination.
Now watch this.
All of that is the work of the Holy Spirit.
That's His job.
He inspires.
He reveals.
He illumes.
Everybody got that, right?
Now, so by inspiration
the Holy Spirit gives the disciples all this truth
that we need to know.
Then by illumination the Holy Spirit
shines a light on that truth so we can understand it.
So put it this way.
To the disciples, Jesus gave life to the truth,
but to us He gives light to the truth.
When I got up this morning, as I do every day,
when I read my Bible --
the first thing I do every day is read my Bible.
First thing I do.
The first thing I say is I say, "Lord, open my eyes
that I might understand wonderful things from your law."
Right out of the book of Psalms.
Open my eyes.
Because even though I've got a PhD,
even though I have seminary training,
even though I've got the highest degree
and the most education you could have --
I'm not saying that to brag.
I'm saying that to make a point.
I can't understand one word in that book
unless the Spirit of God shines the light on it.
Now here's the good news.
You don't have to have a PhD to understand the Bible.
You don't have to be highly educated
because the same Holy Spirit that shines the light for me
is the same Holy Spirit who wants to shine the light
for you.
So He does that.
So He shines this light so we can understand it.
Inspiration is the gift of receiving new truth.
Illumination is the gift of understanding old truth.
By the way, that's why Paul's sermons got into the Bible.
And I better get my sermons out of the Bible.
Got it?
His sermons made it because they were inspired.
My sermons ought to come out because mine are not inspired
but they come from what is inspired.
That's why anybody can read the Bible.
Atheists can read the Bible.
Muslims can read the Bible.
Mormons can read the Bible.
Hindus can read the Bible.
Christians can read the Bible.
Infidels can read the Bible.
Pagans can read the Bible.
Anybody can read the Bible without
any help from the Holy Spirit.
Anybody can do that.
But nobody can understand the Bible apart
from the Holy Spirit.
If you're a believer, here's my question to you.
Would you like for the Holy Spirit
to speak to you every day?
You don't need to raise your hand.
I know the answer to that question.
It's kind of a dumb question but I wanna make a point.
Well sure.
Sure I would want the Holy Spirit
to speak to me every day.
All right let me ask you this.
You're not a believer.
You're not a Christ follower.
You don't believe the Bible.
That's all right.
My question is this: If there's a God --
and I believe there is, but let's say there's a God.
Would you really like to know about that God?
Would you really like to know that God?
Would you like to know who that God is?
Would you like to discover His plan for your life?
Would you like for that God to speak to you
through His Spirit?
You say, "Well yeah I would like that."
Well the answer to both of us is this:
If you want to hear from the Spirit of God,
you've got to go to the word of God.
If you wanna hear the Spirit of God,
you've got to go to the word of God.
Now how do I know that to be true?
Well listen again to what Jesus said about the Spirit.
Listen.
He will not speak on His own.
He will speak only what He hears and He will tell you
what is yet to come.
That is the Holy Spirit will speak only
what God wants to say and what God wants you to hear
and what God has already said and what God wants you to hear
is already found in the Bible.
That's why every time I open my Bible
there's one thing I expect and there's one thing
I know will happen.
The Spirit of God will speak to me.
He will talk to me.
See the Holy Spirit's not an independent contractor.
He doesn't speak on His own.
When He speaks, He only speaks
what He hears from Jesus
and what He hears from Jesus in the word of God.
So when you seek the truth
in God's word,
when you seek the truth in God's word,
then you will see the truth that is taught by the Holy Spirit.
Let me just stop right there.
I haven't said anything a lot of you don't already know.
If you grown up in church, I get that.
What you're really saying is I need to read my Bible.
Yeah.
And what you're also telling me is when I read it
I need the Holy Spirit to help me understand it.
Yeah.
I know all that.
Unfortunately that's where 96 or 97 or 98% of Christians stop.
But that's not where the Holy Spirit stops.
Because the Holy Spirit will not only guide you
to seek the truth.
He'll not only guide you to see the truth.
The Holy Spirit will guide you to share the truth.
To share the truth.
Now watch this.
You got this truth that nobody else has
because you've been reading your Bible
and you've grown up in the church
and you've grown up walking with the Lord.
Or maybe you haven't but you've come to the Lord
and you've started studying and reading
and you've got this truth.
Well what does the Holy Spirit want you to do with that truth?
Well Jesus continues in verses 14 and 15.
"He will glorify me..."
that's His number one job, by the way.
"He'll glorify me because it is from me that He will receive
what He will make known to you.
And all that belongs to the Father is mine.
That's why I said the Holy Spirit
will receive from me what He will make known to you.
Now do you know what the Holy Spirit
really wants to do for both believers and unbelievers?
He doesn't just wanna just --
He doesn't want us just to know stuff.
He doesn't want us just to know theology.
You say I know.
He just wants us to know the Bible.
No, He doesn't want just that.
You know what the Holy Spirit's number one goal is
for your life,
whether you're a believer or an unbeliever?
He wants you to know Jesus.
He wants you and Jesus to be just like that.
He wants the most intimate, the most personal,
the most connected relationship you have in your life
is to be with Jesus.
He wants you to know Jesus, to love Jesus, to serve Jesus,
and to glorify Jesus.
You ever heard the phrase "in the loop"?
You know what it means if somebody is in the loop?
It means if you're in the loop,
you're kind of in the inner circle.
You kind of --
you're in the middle of what's going on.
Well there's a loop that God wants everybody to be in on.
Here's the loop.
The Father glorifies the Son
as the only way to come to salvation.
The Son glorifies the Father by doing the work of salvation
and dying for our sins.
The Holy Spirit glorifies the Son and the Father
by guiding us to seek the truth, giving us eyes to see the truth,
and growing our hearts to share the truth
because Jesus is the truth.
So God wants us in on this loop.
The Father, the Father glorifies the Son.
He's the only way to salvation.
The Son glorifies the Father by doing the work of salvation.
And the Holy Spirit does both.
He glorifies the Father and the Son by leading us
to seek truth and see truth and share truth.
Now He'll take God's truth right out of this book
and in the right place at the right time
and in the right way, He gives it to us.
And if we're not believers, He'll give it to us
in such a way that we not only seek it
but we see it and we're transformed by it
into people who know the truth and live by the truth.
Then He'll lead us as believers of Jesus Christ the truth,
who died for our sins and was raised from the dead,
that we might be saved to share that truth with others,
that they too might know the truth
that will set them free.
That's how it works.
That's why every time I walk up --
I've told you this before.
Every time I walk up to this platform I've told you this.
Under my breath what am I saying?
I believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
I believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Let me tell you why.
Without the Holy Spirit we're out of business.
Without the Holy Spirit I don't have a job.
Without the Holy Spirit, you don't need me.
Without the Holy Spirit, you can't use me.
Without the Holy Spirit, it's just --
not just another book but it's just a book
I'll never understand.
It's a book that'll never get into me.
It's a book that I will never live out.
See, this is the beautiful thing.
This is why my life --
this is why I'm so full of joy every day of my life.
Have I made a lot of mistakes in my life?
Get in line.
Join the club.
Sure I have.
Anybody in this room, if you've got --
if you've got a brain the size of a pea,
if somebody said to you,
"Would you like to live your life over again?"
Sure you would.
I would.
I'd love to live my life over again knowing what I know now.
That's what I mean.
Boy there's some things I would do that I haven't done.
And there are some things I wouldn't do that I have done.
But my life's full of joy
because I know every day of my life I'm not flying blind.
It's not trial and error.
It's not, "I hope Lady Luck works out the day for me today."
It's not that I hope the dice come up snake eyes.
I get up every day knowing
I've got the source of all truth.
And I've got a Holy Spirit that wants to take that truth
and use that truth to guide me and direct me and lead me.
I know what the meaning of my life is
and I've discovered it because it's the same meaning
of every life.
We've all been put here for one purpose:
to glorify Jesus,
to magnify Jesus,
to edify Jesus,
to lift up Jesus.
You say, "Why do you know that?"
I'll tell you why I know that.
Because the Spirit of God revealed that to me.
And the Spirit of God is in me.
And the Spirit of God leads me.
And I know --
one of the reasons why I know that I try and I do --
and one of the reasons I know when I'm filled
with the Holy Spirit is when I'm just in love with Jesus,
obeying Jesus,
preaching Jesus,
teaching Jesus,
serving Jesus.
Listen.
There's not a problem a church has that can't be solved
if people would get filled with the Holy Spirit.
There's not a problem the world has --
we were talking about it today with Jason.
There's not a problem the world has,
not one that can't be solved by the gospel of Jesus Christ
being shared by believers filled with the Holy Spirit.
Not one problem.
So here's the question of all questions.
If you've never ever ever done this,
I want you to think,
"So what are you gonna do with this message?"
Would you take this message today, truth be told,
would you take this message today and say, "You know?
Now I get it."
By inspiration God's given the truth.
By revelation God's written the truth.
Now by illumination God wants me to understand the truth
and apply it to my life so that every day of my life
I not only seek the truth, I not only see the truth,
but by the Spirit of God I share the truth
with others who need the truth.
Because when you know the truth, the truth will set you free.
Is studying the Bible scary to you?
Well be encouraged.
God has already sent help.
