Hello Friends!
Welcome to Fit Tuber.
Today, we will talk about some healthy snack options that you can easily take along to
your office, school, college or whenever you are travelling.
Now, you are already familiar with these foods.
But it is all about combining them in the right way so that your snack becomes balanced
and your body feels satiated.
Take apple for an example.
If you eat one apple that might not be enough to suppress your hunger.
Now, if you eat two apples that would actually be an overdose of carbohydrates.
Now, combining this apple with peanut butter or roasted peanuts will actually make you
satiated very easily.
Psychologically and scientifically, when we combine two or more foods our body feels more
satiated.
All the snack options that we are going to discuss today are on the same lines.
Moreover, these foods are cheap and easily available in the Indian market throughout
the year.
Now, these snack options are for one and all.
It doesn't matter if you workout or not, you are a man or woman, young or old.
It is for everybody.
Most importantly, these snack options will help you stay away from the unhealthy food
outside.
Now, in India no snack is complete without a chai or Indian tea.
And I promise, you can include Indian tea or green tea with any of the snack options
that we are going to discuss today.
Just make sure that you keep sugar to minimum.
If possible, use natural sweeteners like stevia.
So without any further delay, let's get started.
First is Makhane, also known as Phool Makhane or Lotus seeds.
Now my mother is head over heels in love with makhane.
She takes them to her workplace everyday and she tell me Vivek these are so filling, so
crunchy that it feels like having popcorn.
Now lotus seeds are very healthy.
They are low in calories and rich in minerals.
They are also high in fibre and have some amount of protein as well.
They are super low in sodium.
So it becomes a great snacking option for somebody who is suffering from high blood
pressure.
You can just roast them in a kadhai with a pinch of salt or microwave them for a few
minutes.
Trust me, you will love them.
In my opinion, makhane are satiating in itself but if you want you can have one handful of
unsalted roasted peanuts along with them.
Next is my all time favourite, bhuna chana or roasted chickpeas.
Now, they are also extremely filling and very tasty.
Roasted chickpeas are a great source of complex carbohydrates and also have some amount of
protein.
Even after consuming 2 large handfuls of roasted chickpeas, you will hardly get 15 grams of
carbohydrates but your stomach will be full.
So you can combine them with one handful of unsalted roasted peanuts to get healthy fats
and some amount of protein.
Next option is fruits and nuts.
Now, you can use any fruit apple, banana, orange or whatever seasonal fruits that are
available around you.
And combine them with one handful of nuts like badam, cashews, walnuts, peanuts etc.
Now you are getting carbohydrates from fruits and healthy fats and protein from the nuts.
All in all it becomes a well balanced, filling and nutritious snack option.
This takes me to my next snack option which is banana peanut butter roti.
Now take one whole wheat roti and apply one tablespoon of peanut butter on it.
Add one banana to it and you can just roll it and have it.
it is a very tasty, filling and nutritious snack option.
Next is carrots and cucumbers.
Now only carrots and cucumbers may not be enough to fill your tummy.
So you can actually add two handfuls of roasted chickpeas and one handful of unsalted roasted
peanuts along with it.
Now you are getting vitamins and minerals from carrots and cucumbers, carbohydrates
and some amount of protein from chickpeas and healthy fats and again some amount of
protein from peanuts.
This is how you combine the foods to make your snack filling and balanced.
Next is again one of my favourites, boiled chana chaat.
Now, it is very easy to prepare it.
All you need to do is, boil the chana.
Add onion, tomato, cucumbers and season it with salt, pepper, tomato ketchup and lemon.
Just mix it well and it is ready to go.
You need not boil chana everyday.
You can boil it in bulk and store in refrigerator for 7 days.
There can be a lot of variations to this chaat.
Instead of using black chana, you can even use chhole, rajma or sprouts.
This takes me to my next snack option which is very similar, egg white chaat.
Replace black chana with egg whites and your egg white chaat is ready.
This is a great way to get over the bland taste of egg whites.
Now because egg whites are a source of lean protein so you can even add one roti to it.
Next snack options could be egg white bhurji or egg white omelette.
Now, you might be thinking that should we have egg whites in summer?
Definitely.
They won't cause you pimples.
It is a myth.
So friends, these were some healthy snack options.
I would suggest you to keep them handy with yourself, always.
Let me know in the comment section which snack option did you like the most.
And also share with me some of your healthy snack ideas.
So friends I hope you found this video helpful.
Well, if you did, do give it a thumbs up.

How to Improve Your Hiring Process? with Ben Parr from Octane AI - Duration: 3:02.
Ben Parr is the former editor-at-large at Mashable,
and now he runs a funded startup
called Octane AI as the CMO.
We had him on the Digital Agency podcast a few weeks ago,
to talk about hiring and his best tips.
In this video, I want to go through the three tips he gave
on how to improve your hiring process,
so let's jump into it.
Number one is hire experience you don't have.
- Most people actually don't know what they're doing.
And that includes me, and that's the vast majority of us.
You just have to hire people who are smart,
and who have talents that you don't have,
or have experience that you don't have.
My cofounder, Matt, has a lot of experience
designing new products.
But managing large product processes is not his thing,
as much as, say, Megan Berry, who we hired,
who used to be the Vice-President of Products at RebelMouse.
And you just sometimes know, like this person
is really excellent, and you've got to get them,
and then you just have to figure out where are
the pain points, and where could adding people
actually relieve those pain points and drive
a real business value or some other piece of the business.
- Number two is set goals and metrics.
- I think a lot of it is just hiring the right people,
who are self-motivated, who don't need a ton of direction,
who will figure out things for themselves to do.
- [Alex] Yeah, how do you get them to that point,
where they're ready to pick their own things to do?
- Set clear goals and metrics.
What are the numbers that we need to hit
in order to be successful?
What are the key metrics that need to be driven?
What's the end result that we're trying to get to?
And then what are the levers that could help us with that?
We've been very lucky to have a really great
and really amazing team, and I feel like that's a lot
in part by having an idea of who would fit the culture,
and being able to say no to a lot of people,
even if they are really good,
because sometimes they may not be a fit for your culture,
or there may not be, you may want a person,
but you may not actually have something for them
to do right now.
It just depends on the role.
- Number three is founders can never escape
these three responsibilities.
- When you're a founder, there's only about three things
that you really have to do, in the long run.
Because over time, you're going to hand off responsibilities
to other people, if you're good.
And those things are:
One, you need to make sure that money is always in the bank,
whether through fundraising or customers or revenue.
Your job is to make sure that the company is solvent.
You need to make sure that you hire the best people,
and that you're recruiting.
That's something that sometimes only a founder can do,
especially the highest level people.
And, you have to create the vision and communicate
that vision internally and externally,
because reporters, for example,
always want to talk to the founders.
And the setting the vision is something
that only a founder can really do.

How to Make Rice Flour: Cheap enough for the whole family - Duration: 1:35.
I have been helping mom to make very
cheap rice for four years. It is so fast
and easy you can do it too. Let me show
you how! You can buy rice in 50-pound
bags or you can buy it in smaller bags.
The smaller bags are the same price but
are just a lot more convenient. Attach
the rice collector onto the rice grinder
and take the lid off of the grinder.
Place a damp rag on top of the collector
to make sure no rice flour comes out.
Fill the rice grinder with rice and keep
it on until all the rice is ground
and take the lid off of the collector -
and you can see how fine this rice flour
is. Don't forget to hit that like or
subscribe button. It helps us know how
we're doing on our videos. Want to see
how much gluten-free stuff you can make
with rice flour that's cheap enough for
the whole family? You can check out some

Kur'an Nedir Tarifi Nasıldır ? WHAT IS THE QUR'AN? How is it defined? - Duration: 7:34.
WHAT IS THE QUR'AN? How is it defined?
Answer: As is explained in the Nineteenth Word and proved in other Words, THE QUR'AN is the pre-eternal translator of the mighty Book of the Universe
the post-eternal interpreter of the various tongues reciting the verses of creation
the commentator of the book of the Worlds of the Seen and the Unseen
the revealer of the treasuries of the Divine Names hidden in the heavens and on the earth
the key to the truths concealed beneath the lines of events
the tongue of the Unseen World in the Manifest World
the treasury of the post-eternal favours of the Most Merciful and of the pre-eternal addresses of the Most Holy, which come from the World of the Unseen beyond the veil of this Manifest World
it is the sun, foundation, and plan of the spiritual world of Islam
the sacred map of the worlds of the hereafter
the expounding word, lucid exposition, decisive proof, and clear interpreter of the Divine Essence, attributes, Names, and functions
it is the instructor of the world of humanity
the light and water of Islam, the macro-anthropos
the true wisdom of mankind
and the true guide and leader urging humanity to prosperity and happiness
it is a both a book of law
and a book of prayer
and a book of wisdom
and a book of worship
and a book of command
and summons, and a book of invocation, and a book of thought, and a unique
comprehensive sacred book comprising many books to which recourse may be had for all the needs of all mankind
it is a revealed scripture resembling a sacred library which offers treatises suitable for all the various ways and different paths of the all the saints and the veracious ones and the wise and the learned, which is appropriate for the illuminations of each way and enlightens it, and is suitable for the course of each path and depicts it
SECOND PART and complement to the definition
As is explained and proved in the Twelfth Word, since THE QUR'AN has come from the Sublime Throne and the Greatest Name, and from the highest degree of each Name, it is God's Word in regard to His being Sus-tainer of All The Worlds
it is a Divine decree through His title of God of All Beings
it is an address in the name of the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth
it is a conversation in respect of absolute dominicality
it is a pre-eternal discourse on account of universal Divine sovereignty
it is a notebook of the favours of the Most Merciful from the point of view of all-embracing, all-encompassing Divine mercy
it is a collection of addresses at the start of which are certain ciphers in respect of the tremendousness of Divine majesty
and through its descent from the comprehensiveness of the Greatest Name, it is a holy scripture full of wisdom which looks to and inspects all sides of the Sublime Throne
It is because of this mystery that with complete fitness the title of the Word of God has been given to the Qur'an, and is always given
After the Qur'an comes the level of the books and scriptures of the other prophets
However, those other innumerable Divine Words are each in the form of inspiration made manifest through a special regard, a partial title, a particular manifestation, a particular Name, a special dominicality, a particular sovereignty, a special mercy
The inspirations of the angels and man and the animals vary greatly with regard to universality and particularity
THIRD PART
THE QUR'AN
is a revealed scripture which contains in summary the books of all the prophets, whose times were all different, the writings of all the saints, whose paths are all different, and the works of all the purified scholars, whose ways are all different.
. Its six aspects are all brilliant and refined of the darkness of doubts and scepticism
its point of support is certain heavenly revelation and the pre-eternal Word
its aim and goal is self-evidently eternal happiness
its inner aspect is clearly pure guidance
its upper aspect is necessarily the lights of belief
its lower aspect is undeniably evidence and proof
its right aspect is evidently the surrender of the heart and conscience
its left aspect is manifestly the subjugation of the reason and intellect
its fruit is indisputably the mercy of the Most Merciful and the realm of Paradise
and its rank and desirability are assuredly accepted by the angels and man and the jinn
Each of the attributes in these three parts concerning the Qur'an's definition have been proved decisively in other places, or they will be proved
Our claims are not isolated; each may be proved with clear proofs
While there is a perpetual miracle like the Qur'an, searching for further proof appears to my mind as superfluous;
While there is a proof of reality like the Qur'an, would silencing those who deny it weigh heavily on my heart?

Effective Altruism - Duration: 2:57.
I've always wanted to help people in my life.
I've always wanted to maximize the amount of good I could do for the world.
I wasn't sure what the best way to do that was until I found out about the effective
altruism movement.
The effective altruism movement is basically about doing good, better.
As a community of humans, we have a large amount of problems in the world but we only
have a limited number of resources to solve those problems with.
If you believe that all lives are equal- that no matter who you are, or where you are,
that any two people have the same value, then helping more people is better than helping
less people.
Imagine I gave you $100 and I said help as many people as you can.
With that hundred dollars you could help one hungry person in London eat for a week, or
for example you could provide ten life-saving malaria nets to ten people in Kenya.
So one, or ten.
If the goal is to help as many people as possible, then, of course, you're going to choose the
ten.
Now, this is an oversimplification of the problem, but when you scale it up to the global
view of all the problems we have in the world, the same idea applies.
We have a lot of things to do with a little amount of money,
and we want to prioritize our problems.
To make these smart decisions we have to look at the evidence and the data behind the different
causes and solutions that we have.
For any one of us, that's overwhelming!
Fortunately, there are organizations who have dedicated their missions to finding the causes
that are most urgent for humanity to solve, and finding the solutions that are most cost-effective
to solve them.
They've looked at factors such as: How much scale does the problem have?
How many people is it going to help?
They've looked at how neglected the problem is.
How many resources are we already putting into it, if any?
And they've looked at how solvable the problem is.
How cost-effective is it to solve?
By doing this we're able to look at the transparent reports that these organizations provide
to make our own decisions and on what the best causes and what the best problems to
solve are.
Personally, my view of what the best problem to solve was changed dramatically
after looking at the research.
I've changed career directions and hopefully I'll have more impact with my life.
Now I bring it back to you.
I challenge you now to look at the resources in the video description
to see how you can have a greater impact over your lifetime
by simply thinking more effectively, and strategically about
the amount of good you're going to do in the world.

What is Salvation? | How to be saved ! - Duration: 10:02.
Hello everyone and welcome to my channel!
My name is Shelby and today we are going to be talking about Salvation!
To make this really really easy, the tool that I am going to be using is the Salvation
bracelet.
And if you don't know what that is, a Salvation bracelet is any bracelet that has the six
main colors.
(what are my hands doing) And this six main colors are, in order, black, red, white, blue,
green, yellow.
All of the colors of the bracelet represent a key element in Salvation.
So the very first color that we are going to be talking about is black (pop noise).
And black represents our sins.
So that basically means that (whip noise) anything that you know you should't be doing,
and you do it anyways is considered a sin.
So this scripture is saying that everyone has sinned (whip noise) and everyone has failed;
and that's okay.
Because Jesus came to us and He has saved us.
And that goes on to our next color which is red.
(pop noise) And red stands for the blood of Jesus Christ.
Even though everyone has sinned, we no longer have to (whip noise) carry that weight around
with us all of the time.
We don't have to think "ugh, well I did this two years ago, and now I'm a bad person for
the rest of my life."
That-it doesn't work that way.
God knows you've sinned.
God knows everyone has sinned because you're human.
Jesus had to die for us so that He could be our living sacrifice.
And this can be really hard to understand.
I didn't realize for a very long time exactly why Jesus had to die for us.
And it all originates back to way way way before Jesus was even born.
For an example: let's say that I'm a Shepard and I lied.
And lying is a sin.
And I know it was a sin, so I wanted God to forgive me.
So, because I was a Shepard, I would have to kill my best sheep and (whip noise) give
it to an offering for God.
And God would take that offering and realize (understand) that hey, I'm serious about what
I did.
I'm very very sorry for it, and He would forgive me.
He would understand.
But we don't have to do that anymore, because God sent His son as a sacrifice.
And by doing this, now we don't have to make sacrifices every single time (whip noise)
that we need to be forgiven.
All's we have to do now is pray to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us.
And ask Him that we can be cleaned.
It's like apologizing.
So now that we understand what sin is and how to get rid of sin by praying to Jesus,
now we need to move on to the next color which is white (pop noise) and white stands for
purity.
Now, purity is when you are clean, you are uncontaminated, you are just perfect.
You are clean.
And, you are forgiven when you pray to Jesus to be forgiven, He will make you clean.
Because He wipes all of those sins away.
You no longer have to walk around knowing (whip noise) that you did this "horrible"
sin yesterday, or two years ago, or two months ago.
Because you don't have to worry about it anymore.
Jesus forgives you.
God forgives you.
And that's all that matters.
So when we pray to Jesus and ask for forgiveness, that sin that we committed is no longer there.
It doesn't exist anymore, because He forgave us, and He forgets about it.
And He doesn't care anymore, because He knows that you are truly sorry.
And He knows that you're gonna make mistakes.
(whip noise) When you are saved and you do ask for forgiveness and now that you are pure,
you are clean because that sin that you had beforehand is completely gone.
Now you can become closer to God.
And if you pray, and if you read the Bible, and if you do all these things, you will grow
a closer relationship with God.
And I'm jumping ahead of myself because that's a couple colors down, I'll talk about that
a little bit more.
But just know that when you are pure, you are just one step closer to gaining a really
close relationship with God.
The next color that we are going to be talking about it is (pop noise) blue, and that stands
for baptism.
And baptism is a real thing and a metaphorical thing.
There's two ways you can look at this.
Um, to be baptized means that you are washed (whip noise).
All of your sins are wiped away.
Like what I said about being pure.
Being pure means that you no longer have those sins, because Jesus forgives you.
And when you are baptized, it's metaphorically speaking that all of your sins are washed
away.
So normally right after you get saved, you are baptized in a church, or by a preacher,
or something like that.
And they will "wash your sins away."
And that's basically a re-understanding of that you no longer have that sin, you don't
carry a backpack of sins anymore.
Because they are washed away.
God forgives you.
So basically the root of being baptized is to show to yourself and to everyone else around
you that "hey I am saved!" (whip noise) "And I am cleansing my mind and my spirit of all
the negative, bad things that have happened in my life" and now you are going to have
an open-mind.
So the second-to-last color is green (pop noise), and green symbolizes growth.
When you are saved, you grow as a Christian in God's Kingdom.
When you want to be a better Christian, and you wanna have a closer Walk with God, God
knows that (whip noise) God knows your heart.
He knows that you want to be closer with Him and that you have a closer relationship with
Him.
And He's not going to push you away, and He's not going to make things hard for you.
He will be a friend.
He will be there for you, and He will walk in this life with you.
This is saying that when you grow in God, and when you grow in spirit, you are now going
to be more knowledgable.
(whip noise) When you reach an obstacle in your life that you don't know how to get through,
you're going to be more prepared.
And that leads me to the very last color which is yellow (pop noise) and this also represents
gold, but most people just use yellow for their bracelets.
The yellow or gold represents eternal life.
Now, I'm sure you've heard about when you die, you're either going to go to Heaven or
hell whatever it is that you've heard, and when you are a Christian and you have been
saved, you will go to Heaven to live with Jesus.
And this scripture basically sums up everything that I'm going to talk about: God loves everyone
so much that He gave His son to be our sacrifice.
That we no longer have to (whip noise) kill our best sheep, or anything like that.
We can just pray to Jesus, and He will forgive us.
He will be understanding.
And when we do that, and when we are saved, and when we ask Jesus to come into our lives,
then we will live this life growing as Christians, and we will later die and go to Heaven with
Him.
This is one of my favorite scriptures of all time because it not only talks about how we
will one day live with Jesus, and we will one day get to meet Him, but it also talks
about that no matter what we do or no matter what you have come from, God will never forsaken
you.
Once you ask Jesus to be apart of your life, He will never ever betray you (whip noise)
You may do bad things, or you may, um, mess up, you may sin a bunch of times, but it's
okay.
You're never going to be plucked out of His hand.
You will always always be a Christian, and you will always be able to come back to Jesus.
No matter what you do.
I hope you all enjoyed my very first video, I was pretty nervous about making it, but
I hope that it helped you, whether it was helping you find out what your religion is,
or helping you be able to witness to other people and use the Salvation bracelet to share
to other people.
Thank you so much everyone!
Bye!

ZenHOW: How to Make an A0 Size Poster with ZenFone Zoom S | ASUS - Duration: 3:19.
Hi everyone
this is Marcus, with another episode of ZenHOW
Today we'll be taking a closer look
at the ASUS's new ZenFone Zoom S
and it's exceptional camera.
How to Make an A0 Poster with ZenFone Zoom S
The ZenFone Zoom S has an incredible 13MP front camera
and a 12MP rear camera
It has an extremely long lasting 5000mAh battery
which can last up to 42 days on standby
from a single charge.
The 64GB internal storage which can be extended
up to 2TB with a microSD card
gives you plenty of space
for your photos and 4K videos.
Something that makes this phone so special
is it's dual lens camera
It comes equipped with both
a standard 25mm wide angle lens
and a 59mm 2.3x optical zoom lens
So today I'm going to show you
the benefits of having a dual-lens smartphone
And then we're going to test the quality of the photos
by blowing one up into an extremely large A0 poster
In general, a wide angle lens
is suitable for street or panorama photography
But what happens if you want to
to shoot a nice portrait or
shoot something else a little bit further away
We've all experienced the frustrations of
not being able to get a nice close shot
of a pop star on stage
or some action at Sunday football match
but because it's Tuesday and there's no star in town
we're at the Taipei zoo
one of the largest in Asia
and a leader conservation, research and education
Let's go find some animals
With the wide angle lens
you can see many details of this beautiful lizard
but with the 59mm lens
we're able to get some great shots
because we're going to blow up
one of these photos to an A0 size
let's make sure we have the camera settings right
We are in manual mode
The ISO is around 200 or below to reduce noise
and the focus is right
because we set a low ISO for better image quality
and it's quite dark here
we select a slower shutter speed but don't worry
this phone has a built-in image stabilizer
that keeps our photos in focus.
OK, guys we're done here
So, let's go somewhere to print this
Wow, this came out even better than I expected
For a photo taken with a cellphone this is an awesome result
OK guys, that's it for today
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe
and keep sending those photos you take with the new ZenFone Zoom S
See you guys next time, on next ZenHOW

How Do Verbs Cause Things? Splitting the Verb Phrase - Duration: 10:49.
So let's talk about personality.
Even if you've known someone for a long time, they might still be able to surprise
you — maybe with fears that you never knew they had, or a legion of special skills they've
been keeping under wraps.
Often, it's just about asking the right question.
And when it comes to language, that's exactly what we aim to do: Even something as familiar as
a verb phrase can have secrets tucked away inside.
I'm Moti Lieberman, and this is The Ling Space.
The framework known as X-Bar Theory essentially
says that humans come with a rough syntactic sketch inside their heads, in order to explain
how we build our sentences.
It provides a template which at first might seem too simple to do much good, but when
it's put to proper use, it actually has the ability to generate each and every expression
that makes up part of someone's language, without a misstep.
In fact, it's that very simplicity that makes X-Bar Theory so powerful.
Not only can it deftly deal with the different categories that make up the structures in
any given language, it'll happily handle whatever word order you throw at it, no matter
if it's German, Irish, or Mi'gmaq.
Like, X-Bar Theory can tackle transitive verbs just fine, like in "His father read the book."
But there's a sinister problem lurking at its core: it doesn't have any good way of
coping with ditransitive verbs — so, words like "give" and "put."
These have not one, but two objects following them — one direct, and one indirect, as
in "give the pen to Clark" or "put him in the swimming pool."
For a template that has only one slot after the verb, that's a bit of a shock, so let's
have a closer look at where things go awry, and how we can solve this conundrum.
Direct and indirect objects are both arguments of the verb, which means that they represent participants
in the action or the event being described.
And these sorts of phrases are pretty much indispensable, since you can't say things
like "give to Clark" or "put him" by themselves.
In order to represent this requirement, X-Bar Theory situates both objects next to the verb, like so.
But the branches of the trees holding our sentences together are typically divided into two,
if they branch at all, so a three-way split definitely breaks with tradition.
Of course, we could chalk it up to ditransitives just being an exception.
We could even force them into our existing template, if we really wanted to.
But the problem is more than just aesthetic: it actually runs against some really well-established
grammatical facts. Let's say that Melanie has a mirror.
Then, we could easily imagine saying a sentence like "Melanie showed David himself," with
"himself" effortlessly referring back to David.
But according to the principles of Binding Theory, which spell out when and where pronouns
like "himself" can appear, it should be just as easy for us to use "Melanie showed
himself David" to express that very same thought.
If this is the right shape for our tree, either one should work, since even if the ordering's
different, the structural relationships in each case are exactly the same.
But in the second case, "himself" just can't refer to David, no matter how hard it tries to.
This strongly suggests that, somehow, the first object is actually higher up in the
tree than the second — that it sort of 'outranks' it.
So what could this possibly look like?
To answer that, we'll have to take a short detour through the syntax of causation.
In English, we use verbs like "make" and "cause" to represent the fact that somebody
made something happen.
So, we can take a sentence like "They fight back" and add in a third party, like in
"Sydney made them fight back."
But this isn't the only way languages introduce causers into the mix.
There's at least one class of verb that has this causative meaning built right into
it — so-called lexical causatives.
These verbs, like "melt" and "roll," connect people to the events that they set in motion.
"Oliver melted the ice" means that he caused the ice to melt, while "She rolled the oven
down the alley" draws a similar kind of connection.
These sorts of verbs are different from ordinary transitive verbs like "punch" or "kick,"
both in their meaning and their syntax.
While you can say "Oliver punched the ice, but nothing happened to it," you can't
say "Oliver melted the ice, but nothing happened to it."
The causative meaning is too much a part of the word to be cast aside.
More to the point, these verbs can optionally skip over the causer and go straight to what
was caused; so, "The ice melted" or "The oven rolled down the alley".
So how can we account for the behaviour of these verbs?
Do we have to suppose there are two separate versions of the verb stored in our head, each
associated with a slightly different structure?
Well, one big clue comes from languages that have a richer morphology than English.
When we look at, say, Malagasy, we see a similar pattern, but where the mechanism is much more visible.
In shifting from the transitive verb "hide something" to the intransitive "hide
yourself," Malagasy swaps out the beginning of the word.
In Tagalog, the intransitive verb "fall" shows up as this, while actively knocking
someone down looks like this — again, with a different set of sounds at the start.
And in Japanese, the intransitive verb 凹む"hekomu," meaning "to be dented," turns into the
transitive 凹ます "hekomasu," meaning "to dent something."
The root verb is the same in either case, but its function inside a sentence changes
by way of a special affix that inserts itself between the verb and the tense marker.
Let's see how this works in tree form.
So, if we had a sentence like "kikai-ga hekomu," for "the machine will be dented,"
our tree would look like something like this.
Since "kikai" is the only participant in this sentence, it goes on to become the
subject, while the verb moves up the tree to join together with the tense marker, like
the verbs do in French.
In contrast, speakers also have the option of inserting another layer into the structure,
headed by the morpheme "-as," which then paves the way for an agent to come in to cause
the event in question.
In "David-ga kikai-o hekomasu," David's now denting the machine.
He then goes on to become the subject of the sentence as a whole, while the verb once again
climbs the tree to collect all of its suffixes and become a full-fledged word.
In this setup, there's no need to suppose that two versions of each verb exist.
Instead, whenever an agent appears, it's simply the result of a special kind of phrase
found sitting just on top of the regular verb phrase — a kind of shell wrapped around
the main VP, whose job is to invite other personalities into the mix.
Importing the idea over into English, we can make an educated guess that verbs like "melt"
and "roll" follow the same blueprint.
These verbs have to get involved with inserting all the relevant players into the action,
so now they get split across two different sections of the sentence.
And when the part of the tree tasked with introducing the subject doesn't show up,
the object is all that's left.
We might even suppose that ordinary transitive verbs like "keep" or "erase" make
use of this kind of structure, too.
When we look at how much influence subjects and objects have over the meanings of their
verbal hosts, we find that objects seem to be a lot more closely connected to them than subjects.
Phrases like "throw a toaster" and "throw a fit" denote very different kinds of throwing;
and the same with "take an aspirin" and "take a nap."
But switching one subject for another doesn't really have the same effect; "Lenny took
a nap" and "Benny took a nap" describe fundamentally the same event — just with different nap-takers.
Our 'split VP' idea matches up with this nicely.
Best of all, we finally have a satisfying explanation of what the structures of ditransitive verbs must be like.
If agents and causers really do make their ways into sentences separately from objects,
this opens up the space that we need to fit the ditransitive puzzle piece into our overall
picture of sentence structure.
Let's have a look at how this actually works.
So, we've argued in the past that the structure of an English verb phrase has to look something
like this, with the subject starting off at the top, and then later moving up even
higher to become the subject of the sentence as a whole.
But you can see that this doesn't really leave any room for the indirect object — at
least, not unless we use the three-way branching.
But now, we toss in our new agent-adding structure, which surrounds our original verb phrase.
Call it a 'little vP' , to mark the difference between it and the main one.
Since the subject now starts off a bit higher in the tree, there's extra space inside
the lower verb phrase — enough to hold both objects.
Then, just like in Japanese, the verb moves up into the top floor, giving us the word order we want!
Ditransitives aren't really exceptions after all, and with the first object in a position
that's higher up in the tree than the second one, the facts about reflexives, or words
pointing back to other parts of the sentence, make total sense; a pronoun like "himself"
can't show up first, because that would put it up too high in the tree to be able
to refer back to David, whereas the other way around is fine.
And even though we can't see this extra structure with the naked eye, we can test
to see whether it's really there.
If verb phrases really are split in two, there end up being twice as many spots for adverbs
like "again" to attach to, which means that we expect to find differences in meaning.
And sure enough, a sentence like "Dr. Poole closed the door again" has two subtly different
interpretations: one where he'd closed the door before, and then did it again, and another
where someone else had closed it first, and after it was opened, he closed it again.
As you can see, different languages can reveal different sides to the same Universal Grammar
that we all possess.
And when they work together, there's no secret that they can't uncover.
So, we've reached the end of The Ling Space for this week.
If you cracked open your verb phrase to see what's inside, you learned that certain
words, like "give" and "put," pose a problem for our current theory of syntax;
that some languages use a special kind of structure, to introduce agents and causers
into the mix; and that if English has these structures too, it helps explain ditransitive
verbs, how they interact with reflexives, and why subjects and objects seem so different.

Free Fall 2 - Freier Fall 2 - How Free Fall started for Max Riemelt - Duration: 1:04.
I can still remember getting the offer, or the request to come to the casting
for the role of Kay.
And...
I was a bit worried about how I could
portray that in a believable way.
And I was very relieved when I found out that Hanno would play him,
because we'd already worked on two films together.
And during the second project, <i>Auslandseinsatz</i>,
you could say we really became friends.
We told each other our life stories, so yeah,
he was the one I could imagine myself doing it with.
It was a pleasant task for me, so I could see myself doing it.
It was still a challenge because we didn't want to follow any stereotypes.
We didn't want superficial characters. We wanted to portray real people
with genuine feelings for each other.
And it worked really well, right from the beginning.

your website URL into the description of
every single image this will draw more
traffic to your website as well as boost
your website's SEO to
if you're a graphic designer or an
artist you can use your design to sell
as posters or prints you can use
websites where you upload the I work
yourself and then they do all of the
printing for you leapin you started with
a small percent of the profit this is
good because you never really need to do
much of the work behind the scenes
I however apps awesome I am a very good
printing company that I used to print my
designs and then I sell them for my
website link in the description but if
you use the first option you can again
upload your prints to many different
websites online I have a service where
you only need to upload artwork and then
they do the rest you can use social
