How To: Turn off seat belt warning chime - Duration: 2:59.
Mark Miller here with Watseka Ford Lincoln here to tell you how to turn off that very
annoying seat belt chime when you don't have it plugged in.
Viewer discretion is advised because it is illegal not to have your seat belt plugged
in in the state of Illinois.
So maybe if you're not in the state of Illinois we can accommodate your needs or if you feel
like breaking the law lol.
So lets go ahead and get started.
First things first, we're in a F250 '16 four wheel drive, I'm not sure if it's going to
be the same on every vehicle but just for example purposes we'll do it on this one.
You can always find it in your handbook if you go under seat-belts and it will tell you
under the deactivating and activating the belt reminder feature.
So lets go ahead and get started.. it's telling me that the parking brake needs to be set
so I'll go ahead and do that now.
Next one is the transmission is in park, which it is.
The ignition is off and the key is in.
All vehicle doors are closed, which they all are and the driver's seat belt is unbuckled.
Which as you can see I don't have it buckled here.
So I'm going to go ahead and switch the ignition on.
Do not start the ignition is what it's telling me.
I have to wait until the seat belt warning light turns off which will take about a minute.
So you get to see me for the next minute.
It's still not a minute yet, but it's saying that I have to wait until the seat belt warning
light turns off.
I must complete step 3 within 30 seconds.
It's kind of like a race it's kind of intimadating really, you want to make sure you don't mess
up because it could take a while to restart.
So after the warning light turns off, which it's still on there, I have to unbuckle the
seat belt 3 times at a moderate speed and leave it unbuckled until the light comes back
on.
So let's see if I can do this without messing up.
I'm going to get my seat belt ready to go and there it goes.

It just came again.
So while the seat belt light is on I have to buckle then unbuckle the seat belt and
it should flash.
Perfect.
It's flashing now.
I should've just turned it off.
The feature itself is actually turned off now.
So that's pretty much it.
Pretty simple and easy to go.
I'll go ahead and start it up now.
As you can tell now, I have to remove the parking brake thank you so much for reminding
me, but if you take a peek up here..
I no longer have my warning light telling me that my seat belt is off.
I can go driving around the lot now, ready to rock and roll with no annoying chime for
me.
