PS. Explain This: The Truth About the "Alt-Left" - Duration: 2:31.

Is it okay to punch a Nazi?

Antifa says yes.

But there's more to the anti-fascist group than that.

Antifa is a radical pan-leftist movement focused

on fighting the far right, particularly neo-Nazis

and other white supremacists, including the

so-called "alt-right," which has been

gaining increasing influence over the US Republican

Party in recent years.

There are antifa groups around the world,

but it's not a single united organization.

What binds the movement together is the belief

that, rather than counting on the police or

the state to stop white supremacy, the people

themselves must act.

Adherents track the activities of local white

supremacist groups, in order to expose them

to their neighbors and employers; stop white

supremacist events from being held; and disrupt

those that they're unable to block.

The anti-fascism movement originated in Europe,

in the years leading up to World War II.

The progenitors of America's antifa emerged

in the 1980s, when the group "Anti-Racist

Action" formed in Minnesota to combat the

rise of Nazi skinheads locally.

Through the '80s and '90s, ARA chapters

popped up across the US, often rooted in local

punk-music scenes.

But by the mid-2000s, with white supremacy

having largely faded into the shadows, the

anti-fascist movement faded away as well.

The resurgence of white supremacy in the form

of the alt-right, and the election of Donald

Trump, breathed new life into the movement,

which became national news in February, when

black-clad activists smashed windows and shot

fireworks at a venue at the University of

California, Berkeley, where alt-right provocateur

Milo Yiannopoulis was supposed to speak.

Their tactics, together with protests involving

thousands of students, worked: the speech

was canceled.

Antifa then grabbed headlines again by clashing

with participants of the "Unite the Right"

rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Trump equated the supposedly "alt-left"

antifa and other protesters with the neo-Nazis

and Ku Klux Klan members they were protesting.

But the comparison doesn't hold.

Most antifa activism is nonviolent, though

those affiliated with the group defend fighting

white supremacists by any means necessary

– a stance that distinguishes them from

liberal anti-racists.

But the fact is that antifa groups aren't

arguing for oppression or violence directed

against any group.

According to Harvard scholar and activist

Cornel West, they may well have saved lives

in Charlottesville.

Unlike the alt-right, most antifa supporters,

it seems safe to say, want nothing more than

to become irrelevant again.

So membership is key to the Co-op it's a lot what the Co-op is. So my

about customers or about members. So it's understanding how people want to

engage with the Co-op in the 21st century. I'm a fairly experienced user

researcher now so I've been through digital transformation in government

I worked on the first Department for Work and Pensions service that went live. The

ability to go and do that all over again with Co-op Digital and to help a lot of

people who were coming to user research quite new and to help them

along. So I think one of the best parts of my job is mentoring people as well, so

I'm sort of mentoring someone at the minute and I've just trained someone

as a user research. So being able to share sort of things I've learned as

user researcher with other people and equally we've got a good mix of people

from different digital backgrounds. So even amongst the community of user

researchers, there's people with different skill sets to me I can learn from as

well. So it's just a really good mix. And stuff we're trying to do is genuinely

trying to improve people's lives and help people. The things I'm looking forward

to right are really starting to influence more and more how much user

research is listened to, so really getting it properly embedded now. So

we've got the roots there we now need to build on that and so it's making

sort of links in in the wider Co-op to sort of share user research findings as

opposed to sort of people directly on the product teams. And trying to

find other user researchers to come and join us, who can join in with that and

helping to develop user researchers here. Co-op was the only other job I've ever

The Powerful Aspirin Alternative Your Doctor Never Told You About - Duration: 14:31.

The Powerful Aspirin Alternative Your Doctor Never Told You About

By Sayer Ji

Contributing writer for Wake Up World

Aspirins long held promises are increasingly falling flat. A natural, safer and more effective

alternative to this synthetic drug has been known about for at least 15 years!

In a previous article titled The Evidence Against Aspirin and For Natural Alternatives,

we discussed the clear and present danger linked with the use of aspirin as well as

several clinically proven alternatives that feature significant side benefits as opposed

to aspirins many known side effects.

Since writing this article, even more evidence has accumulated indicating that aspirins

risks outweigh its benefits. Most notably, a 15-year Dutch study published in the journal

Heart found that among 27,939 healthy female health professionals (average age 54) randomized

to receive either 100 mg of aspirin every day or a placebo the risk of gastrointestinal

bleeding outweighed the benefit of the intervention for colorectal cancer and cardiovascular disease

prevention in those under 65 years of age.

Of course, aspirin is not alone as far as dangerous side effects are concerned. The

entire non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) category of prescription and over-the-counter

drugs is fraught with serious danger. Ibuprofen, for instance, is known to kill thousands each

year, and is believed no less dangerous than Mercks COX-2 inhibitor NSAID drug Vioxx

which caused between 88,000-140,000 cases of serious heart disease in the five years

it was on the market (1999-2004). Tylenol is so profoundly toxic to the liver that contributing

writer Dr. Michael Murray recently asked in his Op-Ed piece, Is it Time for the FDA

to Remove Tylenol From the Market?

Given the dire state of affairs associated with pharmaceutical intervention for chronic

pain issues, what can folks do who dont want to kill themselves along with their pain?

Pine Bark Extract (Pycnogenol) Puts Aspirin To Shame

When it comes to aspirin alternatives, one promising contender is pycnogenol, a powerful

antioxidant extracted from French maritime pine back, backed by over 40 years of research,

the most compelling of which we have aggregated on GreenMedInfo.com here: Pycnogenol Research.

Amazingly, you will find research indexed there showing it may have value for over 80

health conditions.

In 1999, a remarkable study published in the journal Thrombotic Research found that pycnogenol

was superior (i.e. effective at a lower dosage) to aspirin at inhibiting smoking-induced clotting,

without the significant (and potentially life-threatening) increase in bleeding time associated with

aspirin use. The abstract is well worth reading in its entirety:

The effects of a bioflavonoid mixture, Pycnogenol, were assessed on platelet function in humans.

Cigarette smoking increased heart rate and blood pressure. These increases were not influenced

by oral consumption of Pycnogenol or Aspirin just before smoking. However, increased platelet

reactivity yielding aggregation 2 hours after smoking was prevented by 500 mg Aspirin or

100 mg Pycnogenol in 22 German heavy smokers. In a group of 16 American smokers, blood pressure

increased after smoking. It was unchanged after intake of 500 mg Aspirin or 125 mg Pycnogenol.

In another group of 19 American smokers, increased platelet aggregation was more significantly

reduced by 200 than either 150 mg or 100 mg Pycnogenol supplementation. This study showed

that a single, high dose, 200 mg Pycnogenol, remained effective for over 6 days against

smoking-induced platelet aggregation. Smoking increased platelet aggregation that was prevented

after administration of 500 mg Aspirin and 125 mg Pycnogenol. Thus, smoking-induced enhanced

platelet aggregation was inhibited by 500 mg Aspirin as well as by a lower range of

100-125 mg Pycnogenol. Aspirin significantly (p<0.001) increased bleeding time from 167

to 236 seconds while Pycnogenol did not. These observations suggest an advantageous risk-benefit

ratio for Pycnogenol. [emphasis added]

As emphasized in bold above, pycnogenol unlike aspirin did not significantly increase bleeding

time. This has profound implications, as aspirins potent anti-platelet/blood thinning

properties can also cause life-threatening hemorrhagic events. If this study is accurate

and pycnogenol is more effective at decreasing pathologic platelet aggregation at a lower

dose without causing the increased bleeding linked to aspirin, then it is clearly a superior

natural alternative worthy of far more attention by the conventional medical establishment

and research community than it presently receives.

Not Just A Drug Alternative Pycnogenol, like so many other natural interventions,

has a wide range of side benefits that may confer significant advantage when it comes

to reducing cardiovascular disease risk. For instance, pycnogenol is also:

Blood Pressure Reducing/Endothelial Function Enhancer: A number of clinical studies indicate

that pycnogenol is therapeutic for those suffering with hypertension. Pycnogenol actually addresses

a root cause of hypertension and cardiovascular disease in general, namely, endothelial dysfunction

(the inability of the inner lining of the blood vessels to function correctly, e.g.

fully dilate).[1] It has been shown to prevent damage in microcirculation in hypertensive

patients, as well as reducing the dose of blood pressure drugs in hypertensive patients,[2]including

hypertensive diabetic patients.[3] It has even been found to reduce intraocular hypertension

found in glaucoma patients.[4] Anti-Inflammatory Effects: There is a growing

appreciation among the medical community that inflammation contributes to cardiovascular

disease. Several markers, including C-reactive protein are now being fore grounded as being

at least as important in determining cardiovascular disease risk as various blood lipids and/or

their ratios, such as low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Pycnogenol has been found to reduce

C-reactive protein in hypertensive patients.[5] Pycnogenol has been found to rapidly modulate

downward (inhibit) both Cox-1 and Cox-2 enzyme activity in human subjects, resulting in reduced

expression of these inflammation-promoting enzymes within 30 minutes post-ingestion.[6]

Another observed anti-inflammatory effect of pycnogenol is its ability to down-regulate

the class of inflammatory enzymes known as matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).[7] Pycnogenol

has also been found to significantly inhibit NF-kappaB activation, a key body-wide regulator

of inflammation levels whose overexpression and/or dysregulation may result in pathologic

cardiovascular manifestations.[8] Finally, pycnogenol has been found to reduce fibrinogen

levels, a glycoprotein that contributes to the formation of blood clots; fibrinogen has

been identified as an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease.[9]

The Ideal Air Travel Companion: In a previous article entitled, How Pine Bark Extract

Could Save Air Travelers Lives, we delve into a compelling body of research that indicates

pycnogenol may be the perfect preventive remedy for preventing flight-associated thrombosis,

edema, and concens related to radiotoxicity and immune suppression.

Given the evidence for pycnogenols pleotrophic cardioprotective properties, we hope that

pycnogenol will become more commonly recommended by health care practitioners as the medical

paradigm continues to evolve past its reliance on synthetic chemicals, eventually (we hope)

returning to natural, increasingly evidence-based interventions. However, it is important that

we dont fall prey to the one-disease-one-pill model, convincing ourselves to focus on popping

pills this time natural ones as simply countermeasures or insurance against

the well known harms associated with the standard American diet, lack of exercise, and uncontrolled

stress. The ultimate goal is to remove the need for pills altogether, focusing on preventing

cardiovascular disease from the ground up and inside out, e.g. letting high quality

food, clean water and air, and a healthy attitude nourish and sustain your health and well-being.

The Woman Raising Awareness About AIDS in China - ft. Lianna Louie - Duration: 9:42.

Hello world we are "Live from my Couch" I'm Lianna and today I would like to talk

to you about the HIV epidemic in China. I'm from California, but I recently moved

to Washington, DC. I've always really been interested in international relations

and cross-cultural communications, and connections. And that might be because I

am Asian American and always was curious about what it was like to live in an

Asian country. I started looking into this issue when I was reading articles

about World AIDS Day last December. And the article that I read about China was

what it got me interested in the issue because I was shocked to find out that

the contraction rates in China are going up in certain communities by a

significant portion. And in reaction I wrote my own op-ed on what I believe are

the issues causing the increase in rates of contraction in China. Linked in the

doobly-doo. The first thing that I had ever read about the epidemic in China

was from a book called "China Road," which is about 10 years old at this point, but

it was a heartbreaking tale of how an entire village in rural China came down

with the epidemic due to blood transfusion. The town had unfortunately

received donated blood that had been infected and just how unfortunately a

lot of knowledge about the spread of the disease was not well communicated to

this particular village. But thinking that maybe this was ten years ago, that

the situation would have improved. But I came across an article on Quartz Daily

in December right after world AIDS day that said unfortunately within

the last five years the rate of infection among gay men in China went up

420%, among students 410%

rate of contraction and for the elderly, which is defined as those who are above

the age of 60, 360%.

The issue is that this disease still has a lot of cultural stigma in China, so the

conversations around HIV/AIDS and the epidemic is not one that can be openly

talked about. It's still extremely stigmatized and part of that has to do

with the fact that Chinese society does not talk openly about sex. You have this

problem where all disease is not really discussed openly. I've had classmates

tell me how while they were in their studies their families didn't tell them

that their grandparents had gotten cancer or had a stroke or...

There was just a lot of hush around any sort of health issues in general. But it

also has a stigma around homosexuality. There's still a lot of misunderstanding

about homosexuality in China. It only was removed from the list of mental

illnesses in 1996 in China. In China there's not moral implications in terms

of it being a Christian society because it is not a Christian society, so

there's not the moral implication from religion, but there are implications in

terms of what family is understood to be and offspring. So if you don't have a

partner with whom you can continue the family bloodline then that's seen as

disrespect to your family and to your ancestors. So you can see that the stigma

is from a different place. There's still not a lot of acceptance in certain ways.

And lastly is just a society that very much focuses on the concept of Face and

not losing Face. So if it comes out that you are infected with HIV your whole

family may lose face, so there is a stigma against talking about really

having any disease, but especially HIV and AIDS. So the other point I wanted to

talk about in terms of addressing the epidemic in China are nonprofit

organizations. Now the tricky part about nonprofit organizations and NGOs, which

are non-governmental organizations, is that China's government makes it very

difficult for those organizations to exist in China. Why is that? Going back to

the idea of face - that the Chinese government is meant to provide

everything for the Chinese society as a communist government. And to admit openly

by having organizations that are not part of the government but doing

governmental work almost or providing a service; filling a gap that society is

not able to address (the government is not able to address), it is such a loss of

face for the government itself that there's been a lot of trickiness around

letting NGOs exist and do their work within the borders of China.

So one area I believe that things could significantly improve is the education

around HIV. So the Chinese schooling system is one of the biggest

institutions in China, and a lot of your knowledge is gained through going to

school. And there's a lot of respect for schooling as well. That said, because all

schools in China are run by the government, if the government cannot

sanction education around HIV/AIDS, then that's going to be a problem. So what I

see as being something to improve the situation is, one, just to have a baseline

amount of sexual education. As things stand right now in China - and this is

from anecdotes that I've gathered from my friends who grew up there, went

through the Chinese schooling system - is that you get about five hours in middle

school biology class (maybe high school biology class) about what the sexual

reproductive organs are by reading a textbook. And then the teachers say to

you that you are not allowed to ask questions about it. So there's a lot of

misunderstanding, and if misunderstandings arise they can't be

really addressed because there is no adult figure (and no voice of authority)

to teach you further on issues that are not clear. I don't mean to disparage the

Chinese schooling system, especially when we ourselves in the United States have

our own problems, I just say that there's a real problem when the conversation

can't be had in any way. If China is going to continue being the global

powerhouse that it is becoming right now, then that could be very damaging to

other countries that are also fighting against this epidemic. In Times magazine

and the UN are both putting out articles saying that within our generation we

could see an end to the HIV/AIDS epidemic, however, that might not be

possible if there's education in certain areas of the world

that are so impactful in so many different spheres. So I can't see that

that would be possible if a seventh of the world is struggling to understand

and to avoid contracting the disease. I would suggest that they look into UN

AIDS because the great thing about the UN is that it is a international

organization that would have the respect of the Chinese government. And having

the Chinese government interact with an entity that is viewed as collaborative

and that they can perhaps learn some best practices from, would be a great way

forward. and ideally would be a way for the Chinese government to move forward

without losing any sort of face in the process. The other thing I would

recommend is that you as somebody from a place that has more understanding (more

open conversations, and you have the knowledge) be friends with somebody from

China and have discussions with them. They might not feel comfortable but you,

can get away with it because you are not Chinese and so they understand you work

under a different set of rules. That's all for today. If you have an idea for a

show or want to do one yourself, please reach us to us via social media. I'm

Lianna and I wrote an op-ed on this issue. It's in the description below. If you

feel empowered by any of the things you learned from the episode today, please

check out UN AIDS and also any other organizations that we've also linked in

the description below. This has been an episode of "Live from my Couch." Somebody

will see you next week.

The biggest may be that Loretta Lynch, Obama's Attorney General, used her clout to disrupt

and obstruct the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server.

According to his own testimony, Comey felt uneasy with Lynch's efforts to change the

Clinton "investigation" into a simple "matter."

However, John Solomon, the head of Circa News, has asserted that Comey and Lynch had SEVERAL

secret meetings, via Gateway Pundit.

Solomon has also claimed that the truth about these secret meetings will come out soon.

How can they not?

With the onslaught of leaks we're seeing week in and week out, it's only a matter

of time before everything becomes public knowledge.

Did Lynch and Comey meet to further discuss blocking the Clinton investigation?

Some circumstantial evidence shows that might be the case.

A leaked email from a high-ranking Democrat operative claimed that Lynch would keep the

Clinton investigation from going "too far," via New York Times.

Lynch also met with former President Bill Clinton to have a secret discussion — one

that resulted in a Democrat strategy to obstruct the FBI's case against Hillary.

Not to be outdone, former FBI agents have come forward to call Comey a "dirty cop."

Christopher Farrell, of Judicial Watch, has publicly admitted that veteran and active

special agents have told him that Comey deliberately obstructed the Clinton investigation, via

Daily Caller.

It appears that Comey and Lynch were made for each other.

Both have connections to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

In Comey's case, he once served as the prosecutor in the case against Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton's

National Security Advisor.

Comey refused to prosecute Berger after Berger stole incriminating information from the National

Archives.

Many of these stolen papers reportedly show that President Clinton knew about the 9/11

plot, but refused to execute Osama bin Laden, or seriously attack al-Qaeda, via Washington

Post.

Comey's brother also does tax work for the Clinton Foundation, which routinely launders

money and engages in pay-for-play schemes across the world, Gateway Pundit.

As for Lynch, she is much closer to Obama.

However, in the wake of Clinton's historic defeat, the former "Top Cop" of America

called for "blood in the streets" in the name of political violence, YouTube.

President Trump should immediately begin the process of investigating these two for their

numerous violations, and corrupt practices.

After they've been dealt with, the investigation should widen to include Obama and Hillary

Clinton.

This is one swamp that desperately needs draining.

If it remains in existence, then America will be nothing but a banana republic.

Should James Comey and Loretta Lynch face official charges for corruption?
