WEST HAM are trying to accelerate contract talks with Manuel Lanzini as they fear Liverpool want him as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

The Hammers have been trying to tie the Argentine ace down to a new deal for the past few months after he established himself as one of their key players.

West Ham are desperate to tie Manuel Lanzini down to a new long-term contract.

Liverpool are looking at Manuel Lanzini as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho. But with Barcelona now throwing everything they have into trying to sign Coutinho, Liverpool have had to cast their eye around for potential replacements.

And right at the top of their list is Lanzini – who has shown in two years with West Ham he is one of the most creative players in the Premier League.

Since the start of the year the Hammers prioritised handing new deals to three of their best players, Lanzini, Pedro Obiang and Michael Antonio.

Midfielder Obiang and England hopeful Antonio have long since put pen to paper on their new contracts, but 24-year-old Lanzini still hasnt.

And there is a growing unease that leaves him vulnerable to the advances of Liverpool, who would be able to offer him hugely improved terms.

Lanzini still has three years left to run on the deal he signed in March 2016 when he made his move to the London Stadium permanent.

Liverpool fear they will lose Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona. But that is only on wages of £30,000-a-week, and the Hammers were looking at bumping him up to £50,000-a-week if he committed his future for another four years.

The attacking midfielder knows he could get a lot more if Liverpool came knocking over the next few weeks, flush with the £96million it is likely to cost Barca to sign Coutinho.

Manuel Lanzini has proved he can flourish in the Premier League with West Ham. And it has not escaped his attention that the club have handed new signings Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic deals worth more than £5m-a-year.

So the Hammers board are likely to have to put a contract on the table closer to £85,000-a-week if they are to fight off interest from Anfield.

Olivier Giroud still an Everton target as Ronald Koeman says he wants TWO more attackers before the end of the transfer window

RONALD KOEMAN wants to add another TWO forwards to his Everton frontline. And Olivier Giroud is believed to still his main striker target once he completes the £50million signing of Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. Olivier Giroud remains Evertons main striker target.

Ronald Koeman says he wants to sign another two attackers this summer. Iceland star Siggy, 27, will clinch his move to Goodison over the weekend after Swans boss Paul Clement admitted he wants the deal wrapped up.

Koeman still has plenty of starlets who could play in attack – as Dominic Calvert-Lewin showed with his Europa League winner against Ruzomberok. But Koeman wants a No9 to play with Siggy and Wayne Rooney.

And Giroud has been a Toffees target all summer after rejecting a move to Lyon when Alexandre Lacazette signed for the Gunners from the Ligue 1 side.

When asked if he was still targeting a striker, Koeman was clear he wants to strengthen up front.

He said: "We need two more front players because if you count the players and count the numbers, we lost somebody and we brought somebody in. We like more competition and that explanation is not so difficult.

Giroud faces plenty of time on the bench if he stays at Arsenal.

Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson is set to sign for £50m over the coming days. Rooney struggled against the Slovakian minnows in both legs of their European qualifier.

And he was eclipsed by Toffees youngsters last night, with Tom Davies looking their most dangerous player before Calvert-Lewins winner. Sandro Ramirez started in attack with Rooney before the Spaniard was subbed for Calvert-Lewin with 20 minutes to go.

Despite the prospect of having Giroud, Rooney, Sandro and Siggy all competing for places in his forward line, Koeman insists that Calvert-Lewin could still clinch a place.

The Toffees boss switched from a back four in the first leg to a 3-4-1-2 formation in the second. The Dutchman said: Maybe Dominic feels a bit more comfortable as one of two strikers.

Wayne Rooney has struggled in his first two competitive games back with Everton. Hes strong, hes fast and he scored a great goal.

Everton will now find out who they face in a two-leg play-off tie on Wednesday – when they will avoid seeded sides such as AC Milan and Athletic Bilbao.

Thomas Lemar wants Arsenal move as Monaco in talks to sign potential replacement

Thomas Lemar is keen to join Arsenal and Monaco could be signing a potential replacement before the end of the window, according to reports.

The Gunners have had three bids for the 21-year-old rejected by the French champions, the most recent being an offer of £50 million.

LEquipe claim that the midfielder wants a move to Arsene Wengers side this summer and a deal is not yet off the table as Monaco are looking at bolstering their options on the flanks.

The club are in talks with Rachid Ghezzal, who is available on a free transfer after being released by Lyon at the end of last season.

Ghezzals arrival could pave the way for Lemars transfer to Arsenal, but Monaco face competition for the Algerian winger from AC Milan and Nice.

Last week, Wenger insisted that Arsenal are still active in the transfer market having already signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac and did not rule out the possibility of a third marquee signing.

Chelsea team news: Conte suffers double blow as he confirms two key injuries

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has revealed news that may worry fans ahead of this weekend's Community Shield. The Blues face their London rivals Arsenal on Sunday, the clash will take place at Wembley and kick-off is scheduled for 14:00 (GMT).

Conte has confirmed that both Eden Hazard and Tiemouge Bakayoko will miss tomorrow's clash. Hazard was already a major doubt going into the game due to a recent ankle operation.

"Only two players, Eden Hazard and Bakayoko [aren't available]," Conte told reporters at the pre-match press conference.

"They are working to be available soon. For the first PL match? No. There are recovering very well but they are not still ready to start the season.

"You know very well about Eden, an ankle problem, after a surgery it is right to respect the time needed. "Same for Bakayoko, surgery in his knee, they are hoping to recover very well.

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Luiz, Cahill; Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Morata. Bakayoko's absence may prove to be a positive for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil. The 28-year-old will however have N'Golo Kante to contend with in midfield.

Chelsea's top goal scorer from last season Diego Costa is also unlikely to feature against Arsenal. The Spain international has fallen out of favour with manager Conte and has been told that he is surplus to requirements.

Batshuayi is expected to start following a string of impressive displays during pre-season.
