Fantastic NIGHT MARKET KUALA LUMPUR - Pasar Malam Sri Petaling | Food and Travel Channel | Malaysia - Duration: 9:59.

Hi I'm Thomas and I'm Sheena and we're Chasing a Plate tonight we're at a night

market or a pasar malam in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia we've visited night markets all

around Asia and we're super excited with to explore this one. Plus we've heard there's

something really smelly that we have to try and eat tonight

Let's eat. So we're at Sri Petaling night market and it is so buzzy there's so many people

around, it's really loud and there's a tonne of street food to sample and lots of little

different stalls to shop at. We've got our first snack. Fish sate. I've never seen

fish sate ever and I'm a really interested to try it it's

been doused in chilli sauce I think

It's been cooked over charcoal and it tastes a bit like fish cake, it's quite chewy. I wouldn't pick

it as fish if I didn't know what it was

it's got a really beautiful flavor from the charcoal and that sweet chilli sauce

works perfectly with it. Really interesting. So we just walked past these steaming baskets of dim sum

or Chinese or Cantonese dumplings that you see when you go and have yum cha

at a Chinese restaurant for lunch. This is a shui mai it's pork and

it's just encased in a dumpling skin it looks really tasty so they've all just

been steamed in the giant bamboo basket and they were all so colorful we just couldn't resist

That's a really good shui mai. Sometimes I find shui mai a little bit boring

because it literally is just pork in a dumpling skin but that one has got lots and lots

of flavour and its really tender and soft. That's good. We also got

this one here. I must have misheard him because I asked

him what type it was and I think he said wine flavoured which doesn't make

any sense because it's a dumpling but I thought why not it's wine flavoured I'll give it a

go

It's definitely not wine flavoured. It's got pork in it, it's got some mushroom and again that

dumpling skin around the edges- it's really good these are some great snacks

This market or pasar malam is awesome there's just a whole range

of cuisines we've been walking around we've seen Taiwanese food, there's Chinese, Malay all sorts

can't wait to eat more, lets go and find some more food.

So when the street vendor told me that he had a

wine flavored dim sum in my head I was thinking a Sauvignon Blanc or a

Riesling but then as we kept eating it Thomas of course said hey it tastes

exactly like shao hsing cooking wine so Chinese cooking wine duh of course. If

next up we've found a popiah stall, we're not entirely sure what this is but we're

going to try our best but while we're onto trying very traditional, different

things we want to know what we should be trying and we need you guys to help us

with that so let us know in the comments while we're in Malaysia and we're here

for two months at least, what we should be trying there's so much amazing food

in this country. So it looks like sort of a rice crepe or a pancake, very thin,

it's filled with looks like maybe lots of pickled vege or something I'm just going to try

it. Mmmm it's like a spring roll

it's got some real crunchiness which I think maybe garlic or fried onion so

lots of vegetables, I can see carrots, some onions and some green stuff some

white stuff maybe it's some daikon or something like that or a radish it's a

beautiful flavour it's quite a simple flavour they also put a really thick dark

sweet sauce on which I think is some sort of bean sauce this is a really

beautiful dish like I said very simple a great snack we're doing very well on

finding good snacks tonight.

We smelt something really stinky as we walked

into the pasar malam and it turned out to be stinky tofu we first had this

when we were in Taiwan and we became addicted to it, now it really does stink

like it smells like sewerage but you absolutely have to get past that smell

and eat the stuff because it is insanely delicious

it comes covered in like a chilli sauce and then there's some pickles on top

so I'm just going to dive right in and give it a go I've been missing this stuff. Mmmmmmm

the crisp shell of the tofu because it's been deep fried and then the centre is so

soft it just tastes so beautiful. It doesn't taste too much like what it smells like

you can definitely taste the fermented um fermented-ness of it because that's what

stinky tofu is, fermented tofu but that is just heavenly

now there is a definite smell of petrol in this market from all the generators

but this smell stands out above everything else

now I have a bit of a thing for bad smells and I think this is gorgeous I

don't think it's bad at all but most people think it is terrible, it looks so

good they're these huge vats over here just bubbling away where all the

fermented tofu bits have been cut up and just dumped into the boiling hot oil and

just like Sheena, I have missed this so much since we were in Taiwan

ah all the juice came out from inside it's crunchy on the outside or almost chewy

a slight like crunch and then it goes chewy, the inside is really soft just beautiful

soft tofu you get that flavour from in the centre where it's not been touched

by the by the oil, that cabbage on top the chilli sauce I did not think we'd be

finding this in Malaysia because I thought it was just in Taiwan- amazing

can we find this anywhere else in Malaysia? Let us know please because what a

dish it is awesome!

it's really hot here so we got a sour

plum, lime and lemon juice so refreshing. We're on to desserts and we walked past

this amazing vendor called Murtabak Sam whose selling this souped-up

apam balik or Malaysian pancake we first tried these pancakes a while ago when

we were last in Malaysia and we also did a videos of trying Malaysian sweets and

we try the apam balik in that video we'll link it up there. This looks

absolutely incredible because it's such got a riot of different ingredients in it

the pancake batter has been made with pandan juice as well as bamboo charcoal

and then there's

peanuts, toasted coconut, corn

It is so flavoursome that is absolutely heavenly there's so much

texture from the nuts and the coconut and the corn. It's a bit like the texture

of a crumpet. Wow.

that is magic

we've picked up our last thing but we're

too full to eat it but it's a cake for Sheena because yesterday was her

birthday and I was a useless husband and didn't get her a cake so now she has a pandan

Swiss roll. Pandan is my absolute favourite flavour so I'm excited to get

into this. Sri Petaling night market was absolutely amazing you have to come

here if you're in Kuala Lumpur they're only open on Tuesday nights but we've heard that

there there are some other great Pasar Malams around Kuala Lumpur and we

really want to check them out if you have some favorites please let us know

I got a NEEWER microphone arm for my Blue Snowball and a new monitor - New channel setup - Duration: 6:08.

hey guys welcome to Monday night my camera's not going to be mounted today I

did set up the mount though but uh oh well I need to show you some things so

we're not going to do that so here here's the deal

remember how yesterday I was saying that I got some new stuff for the channel

that I'd be telling you when it got there and everything well guess what it

came today so I'm super happy about this and it is very super awesome so here's

the first thing right here I have a microphone stand let me just focus that

on there there we go so I have an actual microphone stand now I apologize that

the sound quality is not the greatest right now because my hand is kind of

covering the microphone but so I have this beautiful lovely microphone stand

you can see it's out of catch right there there's my razer ripsaw my

headphones and keyboard my mouse and my corner desk and computer and all that I

also got this brand new monitor to replace the super old thing that you'll

see right now and here's my previous old monitor the the good one so I have two

1080p monitors now plus this microphone stand which is perfect because now I

don't have to rely on this where is it this shoddy

tripod thing that doesn't really come up very high or anything I mean it rate it

lowers like this but I can't adjust the pop filter that I made for it so now I

have this perfect pop filter here and this thing feels so lovely like

seriously the material super soft on this and it's so nice like look at look

at this look at this this is adjustable this can move any way I need it to it

can bend I can I can lift it up I can lower it down can pull it out lift it up

oh my goodness gracious this is lovely this is so awesome and this will make

everything so so much better this will make recording much much nicer for

myself I also have you probably notice my lamp over there as well but on that

this will make recording videos so much nicer especially ones where I use the

microphone and everything and not just my phone here so when I make gaming

videos as well as for live streams because now for live streams like I said

before excuse me I don't have to have my chair down so much just so that I don't

know if the camera is focused or not because I can't see it but I don't have

to put my chair down so much just so that it can like reach the edge a a

microphone and be in front of it and just give me a second because so here's

what previously looked like like that that was my previous setup like that

again I apologize for sound quality so yeah that was my previous edit the

microphone would fit on the same pop filter here right so I would have to

like I would either have to can you see how how my face is to the thing right

and this is my chair up so in order for it to work well I would have to put my

chair down to like at least here just so I can like lean forward without having

to go down like this you know and but then my arms are raised up on the on the

desk and everything so yeah this is this is so much nicer I apologize Alma so I'm

super happy about this thing that is that is absolutely wonderful so that's

that's the new thing that I got today and I am super super happy about it and

if there's anyone out there as well who wants this exact microphone arm this

microphone arm is actually quite cheap it's really not too bad at all there's

another piece for that I don't know where that is this this little metal bit

here and the little black plastic bit there is actually attached to another

thing where you kind of like stick a microphone into it like a handheld mic

into a kind of deal and obviously that doesn't work for the blue snowball so if

you if you want to get this if you have the blue snowball this will not

work for the blue Yeti because I think the blue Yeti is too heavy but if you

have a blue snowball and you want a microphone armed for it this is the

neewer microphone boom scissor stand or something like that I there will be

links to the blue snowball the pop filter and the microphone arm for Amazon

and yes those links are referral links so if you use them it will help support

me but they will be in the description below so you can use those if you do get

this for for your blue snowball all you have to do is take the take that little

plastic part right here all you have to do is take this little plastic bit off

of the Hatton microphone clip sing that it comes with and screw it into your

blue snowball and then you attach it to the metal bit there just like that it's

not that difficult it's actually quite easy to do you know it's got little

divots on the side so that you can use something to unscrew it and it's not

very difficult at all so yeah I hope you enjoy this I am really looking forward

to the future of live streams and recording videos and everything because

it's going to be so much better so much more comfortable I can sit comfortably

and that's what I'm excited about here so anyway yeah thank you all so much for

watching I know this is a bit of a bit of a chaotic kind of video especially in
