welcome to fat over 40 my name is miles and in this episode I'm gonna update you

big Snowden challenge it happens on the 16th of September 2017 and I'm doing it

in the memory of my cousin James who died at just the very young age of 27

when he was running a half marathon he was a very fit young man and his heart

just stopped so I'm gonna raise some money for a charity called CRY which

stands for cardiac risk in the young and they do a lot of research and

development into what causes your heart just to suddenly stop

especially when you're so young so there's my Just Giving page down here

please visit it is a little bit of a story about James and about what exactly

I'm doing and every single penny or dollar is very much appreciated so what

is the task so it's no ordinary walk-up Snowden max Snowden is the highest

mountain in England and Wales it rises over a thousand meters high and I'm

gonna carry the weight that I've lost in a pack on my back which is five stone or

70 pounds or 32 kilos and when I set this challenge pipe thought I didn't

think it would be easy but I thought it'd be a challenge

but I thought you'd be okay and in my practice walks I've just realised that

do you know what I can't understand I can't get my head around how I used to

walk around everything they and go about my life carrying that

much excess weight it's just really staggering I mean now some of my

training walks I've carried like half of the weight for maybe an hour or so and

to think they still walk around like all day long with it I mean I'm sweating

pockets so it's been a real eye-opener and let me tell you if you're wondering

now there's a big group of us going I put it on the sort of social media that

I was up for some support and you know I've been overwhelmed actually on how

many people are actually going to join us so I'm really looking forward to that

Craig and Sue Craig from grey wolf fitness so I'm sure you know he's coming

along to join us as well so that's gonna be fantastic to actually meet him in

real life as it were with us we're doing the west side of snow and there are many

different tracks of snow we're doing the west side on a path called the Snowden

Ranger's path which starts off quite steep and then is quite sort of gradual

and windy to the top so it's going to be quite sort of gentle

there's some families coming with us as well so it should be a good day out

it'll take me well it'll take most people about two two and a half three

hours I think it's gonna be a bit of a Plaut I'm gonna sort of take some breaks

as I go the main thing is I get up there I'm getting up there and I'm not walking

it back down I'm gonna empty the pebbles out tonight and get out there I'll put a

little video but on me I've had to sort of by a special backpack that will

actually support the the weight I'm carrying it's got like this special sort

of harness which means that all of the weight is carried around my waist and it

doesn't sort of pull on my shoulders I'm using a 20 mil gravel in bags it is what

it is I did try using a sound they just

every we're gonna spew so on the West slightest gnome there's a little small

village called rib duel and that's where we're going to be basing ourselves and

yeah I'm looking forward to the walk I'm also looking forward to the dinner that

we're gonna have after and maybe a few drinks maybe a few drinks yeah so please

get involved and do drink the hill by going onto the Just Giving page and

giving as much or as little as you can afford right now what am I gonna do

after Snowden well I've already put some thought to that and it's really all

about my belly I need to shift the last bit of my body fat I know I can't sort

of spot reduced fat I need to just get rid of fat all over so I'm gonna have an

intensive three months up to Christmas in the new year where my diet is going

to be on point and then a really sort of do a deep delve into my macros and of

course I'll take you on the journey with me so one more time and this is the last

time I'll say if you would be so kind to take a moment and go on to the Just

we've really just been doing a tour of all the places in my house that I can

the first time in like three years as you all know she's been gone for a long

don't really think of her very highly but she's been teasing this single by

posting like videos and CGI snakes I mean like for a whole week she deleted

her like everything off her Instagram everything off her Twitter deleted her

profile picture even and then just posted all these random like videos of

snakes and stuff and then finally announced last night that tonight this

song would come out and it's finally here so nevertheless let's give it a

listen I have no idea what this is gonna sound like I've not listened to this yet

I don't even know where Sean where this is gonna be but I'm excited dude let's

play it

huh interesting it's like an alternate pop song okay I don't even I'm not even

try and put this into words onre it definitely sounds very Taylor Swift II

just like how the hook and the chorus goes sounds very Taylor Swift but it's

definitely very different from some of our old stuff I feel like the radio

stations are gonna have a hard time playing this one it's it's not as poppy

I think this is a really good like intro to like the theme that she's gonna try

and put out with this reputation album overall i'ma write this song certified

im going to start by using this toner

isn't the bottle so cute

this is rose scented but the scent is not strong so i like it

before using this i used to a different rose toner

but it broke me out when i first used it

so i was worried this was going to break me out too

but it didn't!! so i think it's good for sensitive skin

this is really hydrating

so i recommend for dry skin but also for combination

it doesn't leave any weird sticky feeling

next is this emulsion, and i use this pretty heavily

this moisturizer is a very light and fast absorbing product

this is also good for dry and combination skin

next is this suncream with spf 50 pa+++

this has a slight pink tint which brightens the face

there is a mint colored one for red skin

it looks really glowy and almost oily

but it doesnt have that typical sticky suncream feeling

it makes the skin feel so good i almost use it as a primer

next i'll be using this foundation i got as a sample from sephora

the lighting makes me look WAY more white

i swear i dont look like this lol

then i'll be concealing my dark circles

and with a loose powder i'll set my under eyes

for eyes i'll be using this palette

i'll then mix these two colors

then i'll use a glittery orange shadow for the middle of the lid

then put the rose gold shade on top

then i'll use this super glittery shade for inner corners

then line my eyes with a gel liner

i'm going to do my brows off camera

next is curling my lashes

i'll be using this pigment for inner corners

i'm going to use half of a lash for ends of my eyes

then i'll bronze my face a bit

next is blush!

i'm going to contour my nose now

i'm going to line my lips

then use this bright color for the inside part of the lips

lastly i'm going to highlight using the same pigment

Pack With Me for an Alaska Cruise - Embarkation Day - Duration: 7:53.

Hey Cruisers, Welcome back to our Alaska packing and cruise series.

We hope you enjoyed our video last week where we started talking about Alaska.

We are today going to show you everything that is going to go in our embarkation day

bags, for, wait for it, a ten night Alaska cruise.

What makes this a little bit different is that is a long cruise.

It's not a five or a seven night cruise.

So, we're packing 30% more stuff, or at least I'm providing you that excuse so I can overpack

- right?

Disclaimer, if you watch the video this week, you also have to watch the video next week

where we explain what all of this stuff is.

Because next week are going to show you what is in our checked bags.

So, this week carry on bags only, next week clothing and everything else.

So if you think something is missing this week, it's not.

It's coming next week.

So the first thing that I like to do on embarkation day is I like to convert my purse to a little

mini carry on bag, and I had this really cute Alaska bag made on our Spreadshirt shop which

we'll link to below, that's going to be my new makeshift purse for the day.

So what I do is I take my passports, and all my travel documents like my boarding pass

and my wallet and my sunglasses and my car keys, and things like that and I pop them

into this bag, and this becomes my shoulder bag for the day.

I don't take a purse on a cruise because who needs a purse?

It's a cashless society.

So this is going to be on my shoulder that whole day.

I also have a folder here with more necessary paper work in it.

This has all of our information about our shore excursions.

That laminated wall itinerary I'm always talking about and any other types of important paperwork

that we think we might need.

So this little bag right here is probably going to be filled with some more stuff too,

but that is where we start.

Now what about my son and husband because as you know the three of us will be traveling

together.

Well, my son has his own carry on backpack.

If you've been with us for a while you've seen this trusty backpack before.

He put his devices in here a book, his sunglasses.

Sometimes we'll even pack a swimsuit for embarkation day for him and a rash guard.

We might do that this time, but we're waiting to see if we are going to pack our swimsuits

for on embarkation day this time, because we don't know what the weather is going to

be like.

Did I tell you guys that we are embarking out of San Francisco?

This is a round trip ten night cruise from San Francisco to Alaska.

So the weather could be warm.

Could be 80 degrees, it could be 55 degrees.

We never know.

So this is my son's little backpack.

He'll be responsible for his own stuff on travel day.

A lot of you guys always ask what my husband takes all his gear in.

Da da da!

We are here to show you my husband's gear bag.

It is so heavy that I cannot wait to put it down.

But this is a nice little area for all his camera equipment.

We are actually taking a laptop so that we can get to editing on this cruise a little

bit early because he stays up a little bit later than we do.

So, he'll probably do some late night editing, and there we are going to have our video cameras,

GoPros, our vlogging camera, you name it, microphones everything is all in there.

You're probably wondering what I'm going to put all my stuff in.

This is my trusty carry on bag, and like I said, you've seen this before, but hopefully

I'll be able to get everything I'm about to show you in that bag.

So let's start on your left, my right, and we'll kind of work our way over and I'll tell

you everything that I intend to fit in this bag.

First I love La Croix and they don't sell it on the cruise ship, so I'm going to be

taking an eight pack of that sparkling water, it's wonderful, and my husband is going to

be some diet cherry coca cola, because again, something that they do not have.

So those will take up a lot of space and weight in that embarkation day bag you guys, but

coming home they'll be gone so we'll have a little bit more space.

This is also my toiletries bag.

This has essential toiletries in it that I need to have with me on the first day.

Nothing different than we've done before but you can see my toiletries bag has a hanger.

I like to hang this on the back of my stateroom door.

This stuff, a lot of this stuff is also going to be with us for our pre cruise hotel stay.

So this has essential in it like toothbrushes, deodorant, all kinds of other personal care

items that we can't wait for.

Now you're going to see that I have a lot more toiletries that I'm going going to be

packing in my checked luggage.

But we are not going to worry about those, we're going to talk about those next week.

I also like to pack my makeup with me so this is my makeup bag.

All of this will be going in my embarkation day carry on.

And these are a couple of Wanderwet bags.

You guys have seen these before.

These are wet swimsuit bags that can double as a lot of other things.

If we decide to pack swimsuits on embarkation day.

Maybe we want to go under the Golden Gate bridge during sail away and be sitting in

a hot tub.

Who knows?

This is where I'm going to pack my swimsuit for my son and I.

My husband will not be in the hot tubs for the record.

He might be filming us in the hot tubs, but he won't be in there.

So these are just in case.

Alright, next up is my essential medicine bag.

We've showed you this before, but basically what is in this bag is any type of medication

that we could possibly need if someone in our family became ill on a cruise, or just

basic first aid items like bandaids, cough drops, cotton balls, allergy medication for

my son.

Things like that.

So in this bag we have pain reliever for adults and kids.

We have antibiotic ointment, something like a Neosporin, and we have like a cortisone

anti-itch cream, some vitamins and I have unfortunately a fair amount of cold medicine,

because we have had bad luck with cold this summer.

So this is the medication bag.

Why you ask do I not put this in my checked luggage?

Because in case something were to happen, I get a headache, my son has a little allergy

issue, I kind of want to keep this near me.

And it also has some basic thing in it like Kleenex tissues, Clorox wipes for wiping down

our room once we get into the room.

Things like that.

Alright, next up is our stateroom essentials bag.

This bag has a lot of little miscellaneous stuff in it.

It has our non-surge power cord thingy, it has my little evening purse, it has my sleep

mask, it has our lanyards we put our cruise cards in, magnet for the stateroom walls,

and things like that.

Things I might want to make me a little more comfortable once I get into the room.

We're also going to be throwing our USB charger in here in case our devices or our phones

need to be charged as soon as we get to our room.

So again, these are kind of technology essentials if I had to shorten what I'm calling this

bag.

Technology essentials.

Next up, I can't live without my brush and my curling iron folks.

So these are going in the carry on bag.

Now that pretty much sums it up.

This is a little bit of a lighter load in our carry on bag than you've seen us do before

because we have so much in the way of clothing, and other items that we are packing, that

just a whole lot of that is not going in our carry on bag.
