Youtube daily vehicle Aug 2 2017

Hi I am Grayson Brulte and welcome to another episode of The Road To Autonomy

Recently a subcommittee of the United States Congress took bold and decisive action by

passing autonomous vehicle legislation that will establish a national framework

When we achieve Level 5 autonomy the winners will not be the traditional car manufacturers,

instead, the winners will be the entrepreneurs that believed in the American Dream

The public will be the winners

In the future, thanks to autonomous vehicles the public will have reliable point-to-point

on-demand autonomous transportation

Today the biggest current hurdle facing entrepreneurs is the patch work of laws

All 50 States are taking a different approach to how to put autonomous vehicles on public roads in their states

Some states like Arizona, Florida, and Nevada are taking bold steps by eliminating regulation

and allowing the technology to prosper

Other states such as California are taking restrictive approaches on how to put autonomous

vehicles on the road, which are hindering the investment in autonomous vehicles

We need a clear National Framework to allow autonomous vehicles to go over State lines

When we allow autonomous vehicles to go over state lines, we will usher in the single greatest

change in society since the industrial revolution

In order for autonomous vehicles to become successful in the United States we need a National

Framework and that National Framework starts in Washington D.C.

The bold step taken by the United States Congress Subcommittee and a similar bill being taken

up by the United States Senate is bold and commendable

and it is something that we need

It is time for Congress to act along with The United States Senate and pass a National

Framework for autonomous vehicles

The future is bright, the future is autonomous, the future is innovative

Together we can usher in the future of autonomy

Caught Speeding: The Rise of Electric Vehicles & the Impact to the Energy Sector - Duration: 3:42.

It's difficult to imagine a world without gas stations and without gas-powered vehicles,

but that's about to change.

Right now, we are cognitively and physically anchored to oil.

We drive home from work; we fuel up our cars at a gas station.

It's part of our normal life and 44% of oil consumption is to power passenger vehicles

– the cars that you and I drive.

Now if that were to drop off, then that's going to significantly impact and we project

that that is in fact what's going to happen.

The adoption of electric vehicles appears

primed to be a major disruption to the energy sector.

So when you think about any innovation, whether it's CD players, computers, you name it,

there is a slow early adoption,

then it quicklyramps up and it's something that we know

as the S curve of adoption.

We've seen this before in the original

introduction of motorized vehicles.

If you look at the year 1900

and you were to look at a picture of New York City,

you'd see that there were hundreds of horse drawn

carriages and if you looked really closely, you

might spot the one motorized vehicle that was there.

Fast forward 15 years and you look at the same area of New York, and you'd see hundreds

of vehicles, motorized vehicles, and if you looked really closely, you might spot the

one or two horse drawn carriages.

It happens really quickly, the adoption curve.

For electric vehicles, the limiting factors right now are the costs of the batteries

and the range of these batteries.

When you think about where battery costs have come from, they've come down from about

$1000 per kilowatt-hour down to $227 per kilowatt-hour.

Now in the past four years, battery prices were basically halved and in the past six

years, the price has come down by 80%, so pretty significantly.

The Holy Grail is to get to $100 per kilowatt-hour

and at that point you're at price parity for combustion engines.

The range of batteries has been a concern.

Everyone's heard of range anxiety, but the efficiency of batteries has been growing,

on average, seven to eight per cent every year.

For the majority of us, we use our cars on a daily basis to get to work.

In fact, 80% of Canadians drive to work.

The latest census shows that the average drive to work is 25 minutes and so charging is really

not a factor for urban travel.

Most people will get to work and back and be able to charge their cars in their garage

overnight when it's cheapest to do it, but there is concern about the infrastructure

and the build out of charging stations.

While that's a legitimate concern, that's happening right now.

The build out is happening right now.

In fact, in Japan, they have more charging stations than they do petrol stations.

The Canadian Growth Team is focused on free cash flow growth.

When you consider that we're looking about 10 years out when we discount our cash flows

for the companies that we own, we are not giving our portfolios meaningful exposure

to the energy sector.

The demand factor is going to be significantly impacted when we do make the change over from

internal combustion engine to electric vehicles, which we think is going to happen any time

between 2020 to 2030, but perhaps lean on the earlier side of that.

Vehicle Wrap Design 101: Less is More - Duration: 2:07.

Welcome to Vehicle Wrap Design 101.

Today we'll be talking about the unparalleled, stupendous, glorious, articulate, potent power

of … simplicity.

Like the sudden stillness after a string of adjectives, simplicity instantly pulls you

in.

On a well designed vehicle graphic, it's simplicity that helps people focus on the

key elements of your branding message.

Which are: logo—including the company name, maybe a short slogan, and maybe a web address.

Phone number?

Eh … Be honest: have you ever dialed a number that

you just read on the side of a vehicle?

No, your were driving, and you're a safe driver, so you didn't try to write stuff

down; you kept both hands on the wheel.

But you did notice the colors of that vehicle in traffic, and then the logo.

Maybe a slogan.

Maybe even a web address, if traffic was slow.

And you just noticed the vehicle graphics for a second—because you're driving, but

a little thought said, "Yeah, I know who that is.

I've seen them around."

And then, EYES ON THE ROAD!

Well done!

I know: you're driving, you're watching everything.

That's all the time you had was that split second.

But you see that vehicle several times a month or maybe a week, and every time you see it,

a little thought back there says, "I sort of know who they are."

This incredibly brief mental event is called a brand impression.

And a vehicle wrap design has to be SIMPLE to stick in this time because reading is hard,

and we don't want to do it, especially when we're driving.

A vehicle wrap can deliver up to 70,000 of these brand impressions in a day.

A day.

And every time people see your vehicle, they're reminded that your company is part of the

their community, part of the landscape.

And when it comes time for them to buy what you sell, they know your name.

And even if they don't remember a web address, they can find it on their phone, and they probably will.

Because familiarity breeds trust.

So keep it clean, keep it simple, and remember: the world is moving fast, and you only have

an instant create a complete brand impression with vehicle graphics.

Nice talking to you. Drive safe.

And be sure to subscribe for more marketing tips.
