Jose Mourinho has been forced to defend his relationship with Paul Pogba after recent reports suggested all is not well between the pair
Pogba cast doubt over his future at Manchester United following last Friday's 2-1 win against Leicester, hinting that he is not happy at Old Trafford
Barcelona have emerged as the Frenchman's most likely destination with the Spanish giants offering £50million plus two players earlier this month
However, this bid was rejected out of hand and Mourinho subsequently quashed speculation of a bust-up with the Red Devils' record signing
Speaking ahead of United's clash with Brighton, the United manager said: "The truth is we are together for two years and a couple of weeks and I've never been so happy with [Pogba] as I am now, that's the truth
" Express Sport understands that Barcelona will now have to wait until next summer before making another move for the 25-year-old with United unwilling to sell
Mourinho is no stranger to fall-outs with his players, most recently targeting club captain Antonio Valencia and winger Anthony Martial during pre-season
Spats with players have not just occurred at Old Trafford, with stars also falling foul of Mourinho's temper at Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Porto
Paul Pogba Pogba and Mourinho have periodically been at loggerheads ever since the Frenchman returned from Juventus in 2016
Most recently, the 25-year-old was unhappy about Mourinho's comments on his performances at the World Cup in Russia
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola is also a source of anger for Mourinho, although the Portuguese boss obviously rates his midfielder highly and has appointed him captain in Valencia's absence
Antonio Valencia Mourinho publicly shamed the Ecuadorian during United's pre-season tour of the US, claiming he returned from his summer holiday in "not good" physical condition
Despite this, the United manager appointed his experienced right-back as club captain ahead of the 2018/19 season
Anthony Martial The French winger appears to be a popular target for Mourinho and has been called out in several separate incidents during his time at Old Trafford
Most recently, Martial irked his manager by failing to return to pre-season quickly enough following the birth of his son
Mourinho also revealed that Martial is the only player he has ever fined during his reign in Manchester
Chris Smalling The England international was slated to the press for being too cautious during his recovery from injury in 2016/17
Mourinho gave the impression that Smalling was letting his team-mates down and was not prepared to make sacrifices for the club
Phil Jones Like Smalling, Jones was called out at the same time for not making himself available during an injury crisis two seasons ago
Luke Shaw Mourinho's favourite punching bag, with the 23-year-old almost incessantly harangued for his performances since returning from a broken leg in 2016
Shaw has been told to grow up by his manager and described as having to play with his own body but Mourinho's brain
Conversely, Shaw has also been described by his boss as the best left-back in the world
Henrikh Mkhitaryan The Armenian suffered badly at Old Trafford after arriving from Borussia Dortmund for around £30m in 2016
Following a bright start, Mkhitaryan struggled for form and was frozen out before a move to Arsenal in a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez last January
Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford Along with Mkhitaryan and Martial, the duo were slammed in a goalless draw with West Brom during the 2016/17 season
Mourinho pinned the blame for the dropped points on his attacking quartet, pointedly praising every other member of the team for their displays
Bastian Schweinsteiger A painful one for Manchester United fans, with Schweinsteiger conducting himself as a true professional throughout a particularly ugly fall-out
Having already won eight Bundesliga titles, seven German cups, the Champions League and the World Cup, Schweinsteiger certainly had the quality to succeed at Old Trafford
Unfortunately, Mourinho's arrival at the club saw him inexplicably demoted to the reserves and written off as a financial loss before escaping to Chicago Fire
Juan Mata Now one of Mourinho's most trusted performers, but things weren't always so rosy between Mata and his manager
The pair were not on speaking terms during their spell together at Chelsea, and Mata has revealed there was "no dialogue" over his departure from Stamford Bridge
Kevin De Bruyne Chelsea fans won't want reminding of this one, but De Bruyne was once the next big thing in West London before Mourinho's intervention
The Belgium midfielder claims his manager only spoke to him twice during their six months at Stamford Bridge together, leading De Bruyne to seek a change with Wolfsburg
Iker Casillas The legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper was dropped by Mourinho in 2013 after reportedly calling friend and then-Barcelona midfielder Xavi following a heated El Clasico
Pepe The Portuguese defender waded into the argument on the side of Casillas, leading Mourinho to subsequently drop his compatriot from the starting XI as punishment
Cristiano Ronaldo Los Blancos talisman Ronaldo also had his say on the bust-up as the Real dressing room turned on their manager
Mourinho was quoted as saying Ronaldo "maybe thinks that he knows everything and that the coach cannot improve him anymore"
Sergio Ramos Ramos was so angered by the treatment of Casillas that he supposedly offered an ultimatum to Real president Florentino Perez
The spat signalled the beginning of the end for Mourinho at the Bernabeu, with the 55-year-old leaving the club by mutual agreement a year after signing a contract extension until 2016
Kaka Before the 2013 meltdown, Mourinho also caused waves by leaving £56million signing Kaka to rot on the bench
The Brazilian soon left the Bernabeu, opting for a return to AC Milan.Mesut Ozil The German midfielder revealed in his autobiography that Mourinho called him a coward during a bitter dressing room row
The Los Blancos manager said that Ozil thinks "50 per cent is enough" and suggested that he was too nice to tackle players
Mario Balotelli The unpredictable Italian was axed from Inter Milan's Champions League squad in 2009 after a succession of disciplinary problems
Balotelli was accused of showing a lack of effort in training and said the striker "came close to a zero rating" during a 1-1 draw with Roma
Ricardo Quaresma The Portuguese veteran was warned about his poor mentality at the San Siro back in 2008 before being shipped out on loan to Chelsea
He was then frozen out of Mourinho's plans after the arrival of Goran Pandev.Victor Baia Suspended from the first team during his second spell at the club after disciplinary problems and a reported training ground bust-up in 2002
